Karasu and control

I've been thinking about this for a while, and this part of Hiori's novel (previous reblog) just brought it back to my attention.

Karasu really likes to control things. I'm not saying he's a control freak, of course, but he certainly likes to feel a safe base beneath his feet. You can see this in his play style (when he gathers all the available information and acts only after that; his choice of France) and his fear of water (if I remember correctly, the thing that scares him the most in it is the unknown). AND also from the whole Marisa (his childhood crush) story (assuming it's true lol) - he's not the type to rush into anything: neither in relationships nor hobbies. I don't think he would have chosen to join Blue Lock if he wasn't really sure in his abilities. He's really mature about things like that.

I was thinking in the context of him probably going to university (data analysis please!) in addition to his sports career, since he seems like a really rational guy when it comes to serious stuff? He gives Hiori some great advice about not wasting his time on something he doesn't like, Ego mentions that his greatest skill is his analytical ability - he never acts because-he-just-feels-it, he was the one who argued with the referee in the U-20 game about Rin's injury (so responsible!), and generally acts very logically (except for the whole Hiori and his legs theme lol). I don't think he would be able to fully relate on the sport, he certainly knows about the statistics of failures and broken careers.

He loves football, of course, but he is really right about "people who only play football can't become great players". But that's more because for Karasu, it's unrealistic to be stable (which is sometimes a deciding point in the game) when your whole life depends on it. When everything relies on you winning. Karasu really has a glimpse of Snuffy's philosophy in that, and it's great to see that in the character: Failing at one thing doesn't say anything about you. And you should always be more than one thing to have the right mental balance.

That's what makes him so strong - not that he'll never fail. Of course one day he will.

But rather the knowledge that he has done everything to be stable in case of failure; that any possible failure will not ruin his life. 

Because he has made sure that his back is covered.

okay so i'm actually waiting for my dad to watch arcane so i have to wait a couple days (also had to stop mid episode 4) and i see everyone hating on jayce including friends and you know what

(my theory is that he killed viktor (only reason everyone would hate him that much) and for the record he's one of my favorite character with vi and ekko)

I feel like we dont talk about one of the main reasons nico was ostracized at camp, not just because hes a son of hades.

Camp half blood is small enough so that rumors and information spread fast, but that doesn't mean they are always right. So imagine you're a random camper, and you're told nico, one of the new campers, gets in a big fight with Percy. During which he makes skeletons appear and somehow opens a huge crack in the floor. But percy wins and nico leaves camp.

Don't you think it would've rang a bell?

Don't you think it would've reminded them too much of two summers ago, with luke?

Dont you think everyone would've been even more scared, because now they know nico is a child of hades, one of the big three, and therefore very powerful?

There must have been so many rumors that summer of nico being part of the kronos army. Betraying camp just like luke did.

Of course after the battle of manhattan many people would've changed their minds. Hes in their side now, after all. But there are probably still many campers who think nico left them to join luke, before he changed their mind and helped them win against luke and kronos. People who still hold a grudge against him for joining the "enemy".

sorry. enamored with this reality actually. river song recruited to help raise the rescued melody pond. melody pond grows up with just the world’s biggest ever crush on the doctor, with the sort of emotional weight one can only give to childhood adoration, where her trying to give him flowers is an act that takes a whole week to work up to and once she does it, she feels like her whole life has changed (meanwhile the doctor, who obviously has. absolutely no idea about any of this. is just going :D flowers! i’m getting a good grade in being a cool family friend!) and the best part is that river gets to watch ALL of it. she remembers, she knows exactly how momentous it all felt, and it’s as embarrassing as it is adorable. and also she can tease the doctor about it as melody gets older and it becomes more and more obvious that she is river. well, doctor, she did tell you she was going to marry you when she was six. didn’t you believe her?

Ougghh… Mars you need to see my vision Mars. Coswave love language being food but Soundwave can’t cook for shit so Cosmos has to learn how through trial and error… lots of error. Soundwave still eats it and tells him it’s good (due to wanting to be supportive but also food insecurity and fear of wasting it) Cue cute cooking moments and Soundwave healthy weight gain. Just cute space husbands healing

IM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG TO ANSWER things kept happening that made it difficult to do anything this past week!!

I love Cosmos learning how to cook and having to go through a ton of trial and error to figure out how to make something edible.

Soundwave will eat pretty much anything that will fill his tanks with edible fuel because being picky was not an option in the Dead End (Soundwave ended up eating a lot of what Ravage scavenged, so a lot of it was discarded energon and cybermice).

Soundwave will eat everything Cosmos gives him whether it’s actually good or not. He refuses to waste the food and the first time Cosmos threw out poorly cooked food, Soundwave was really agitated and anxious about it. That was also the last time Cosmos threw out food. He learned that if he wanted honest feedback, he would have to test his dishes on the cassettes (who were not shy about telling him how bad his food was).

Eventually, a routine was established (with good communication and understanding) and Cosmos got better at cooking. Soundwave belatedly realized that having regular meals and a near constant full tank, his frame was quick to adjust to the extra energy and his lean and blocky frame became bulkier and more rounded out (to Cosmos’ absolute delight, he loves his healthy and well fed wife). The cassettes also got a good treatment of healthy weight gain!
