“You’re fine.”
synopsis: “You’re fine” is what he keeps telling himself, even if your life is at risk.
warnings: Getting shot, Being hospitalized, mentions of dying. Let me know if this fic needs another warning!
Tumblr media
“You’re fine,”
Caleb told himself when he first saw you that morning, still sleepy-eyed and tugging on your boots like you weren’t about to walk into a firefight. He teased you, of course—called you “pipsqueak” just to see you roll your eyes. It was easier to laugh than to admit he was watching too closely, looking for any reason to keep you out of harm’s way.
“You’re fine,” he thought when you shoved him playfully, reminding him he wasn’t your babysitter. It didn’t matter how long he’d known you or how many times he’d patched you up as kids—you’ve got to stop worrying about me, Caleb. He hated how you said it with a smile, hated that you’d always been the braver one.
“You’re fine,” he muttered when the wind picked up and you cursed under your breath, your hands tucked into your jacket. He’d wrapped his arm around you like it was nothing, guiding you closer to his side. “You’d get lost without me,” he teased, his voice light even though his stomach twisted. You always felt too far away, even when you were right there.
“You’re fine,” he whispered as the mission started, watching you dart ahead with the same reckless confidence you’d had since you were kids. You always ran first, even back then, when he’d have to pull you out of trees or chase you down because you couldn’t sit still.
But you weren’t fine.
The shot hit you before he even realized what was happening.
“You’re fine.” The words tore out of him as he dropped to his knees, his hands immediately on you, pressing down hard on the wound in your side. Blood poured between his fingers, hot and sticky, and for a second, all he could do was stare. His jacket was soaked, his heartbeat roaring in his ears.
“No, no, no,” he rasped, shaking his head violently. “You’re fine. You hear me? You’re fine. This is nothing, sweetheart. Nothing.” His bionic hand cupped your cheek, trembling so badly the fingers clicked against themselves.
Your lips moved, but the sound didn’t come out.
“Don’t do that,” he snapped, leaning closer, his forehead pressing against yours. “Don’t pull this shit. You’re supposed to yell at me. You’re supposed to be pissed when I tell you I—” His voice cracked, and he couldn’t finish the sentence.
The evac team’s footsteps pounded toward him, but they felt miles away. Caleb tightened his grip on you, pulling you closer as if that would stop the blood.
“Stay with me,” he begged, his voice hoarse. “Come on, I’ve been through worse with you. Remember when you fell off that stupid rope swing? You’re the same idiot who broke her arm trying to jump that creek. You lived through that. You live through everything, because you’re—”
You went slack in his arms.
Caleb froze, his blood turning to ice.
“NO!” he roared, his voice ripping through the air. He shook you gently, his hand still on your face, his bionic thumb brushing your cheek like he could coax you back. “Don’t you dare. Don’t you dare leave me.”
The medics pulled you from him, prying his fingers away. He followed, shouting your name until his throat burned, until his legs gave out on the steps to the waiting room.
And now he was here, alone.
“You’re fine,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. His head was in his hands, his shoulders hunched as he sat in the too-bright waiting room. The blood on his hands was dry now, flaking off in patches, but he could still feel it. Sticky and warm. Yours.
He was spiraling. The memories came too fast, too vivid.
“You’re fine,” he had told himself when you’d scraped your knees as kids. He’d laughed at how dramatic you were, sitting beside you on the curb as he pressed his sleeve to the tiny cuts. “Stop crying, short stack. You’ll live.”
“You’re fine,” he had said when you’d broken your arm, tears streaming down your face as he carried you back to the house. “I told you not to jump. You’re an idiot, but you’re fine.”
“You’re fine,” he whispered now, rocking slightly, his bionic hand clutching the back of his neck. His voice shook with every word. “You’re fine. You’re fine. You’re fine—”
The door opened.
Caleb shot to his feet, his breath catching as the nurse stepped in. “She’s stable,” she said, and he swore the world tilted under him.
He barely heard the rest. He stumbled into your room like a man possessed, his knees nearly giving out when he saw you.
Pale. Too pale. But breathing.
“You’re fine,” he rasped, dropping into the chair beside your bed. His hand hovered over yours before he finally grabbed it, his grip firm but gentle. “You’re fine,” he repeated, his voice cracking as he bowed his head, his bionic fingers trembling against your skin.
But the words weren’t for you anymore. They were for him. Desperate and hollow. A prayer he didn’t know how to stop saying.
a/n: I decided to keep tagging my fics as the other love interests because WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN 29 LIKES IN 4 HOURS? WHEN I PUBLISH MY FICS NORMALLY I GET AT LEAST 100 😭😭😭

a backpack is suddenly slammed against the table causing you to jump in place. in an instant, you looked up to see who just did that and there you see seunghan, who was breathing heavily
seems like he ran for his life to catch you in the cafeteria
"oh its just you hanie" you grin, shutting your phone off as you greet the boy who took the seat in front of you. seunghan grabs both of your hands, shaking them as he chants "TELL ME EVERYTHING NOW"
you let out a loud laugh seeing his reaction. you've sorta expected this already thats why you've been hiding an important information about you and his friend behind his back
"i already told you, it happened once and never happened again! though i guess that brought us closer" you hum, thinking about everything that has happened between you and wonbin for the past few weeks
something really did change but despite the no label, you like it
it's pretty casual to be honest. just spending time with each other at the end of the day after classes and what not. watching movies and meeting up after to debrief, the continuous late night snacking at the nearby convenience store, the comfortable silence inside your apartment when he would come over to just strum away his thoughts while you work on your assignments and the such
the mundane things, really
your train of thought about your new profound "relationship" with wonbin gets cut off when you feel two people sit beside you. it was karina and giselle
"sorry to burst your reminiscent thoughts about seunghan's friend but hey" giselle greets, giving you a side hug. karina does the same and swats seunghan's hands from yours
"you finally told him?" she asks, resting her head on your shoulder as she pokes her tongue out at seunghan who looked like he was a puppy who got kicked
"you really told them first?! when i was basically your bridge to wonbin?!" seunghan complains, covering his face with his hands
you and the girls laugh at his misery
"it's not that serious hanie! its all girl talk anyway" you chuckle
"but im part of the girls! you three are literally seunghan's angels!" seunghan continues to complain but nevertheless he feels at ease that you're finally happy despite everything that happened to you throughout the year
you four continue to converse yourselves, talking about wonbin til someone taps seunghan on the shoulder. seunghan looks up and gasps before making room for the newcomer
"oh shit sion! i forgot about you" seunghan stammers, moving his backpack out of the way so this sion guy had a place to sit
"you literally left me inside the classroom to run here, what gives?" sion huffs, sitting down next to seunghan
"guys! this is my partner for my practical exam! this is sion, sion, these are my friends giselle, karina and y/n!" seunghan introduces sion to the three of you
you finally look up to see who this sion guy was and your eyes widened yet again
it was the same boy who found your keychain earlier today
"oh its you!" you gasp in shock. sion does the same. you were the keychain girl he met in the hallway after your keychain fell off your bag
"the fuck? you know him too?" seunghan says, confused
you shake your head no
"no i just met him today. he found my keychain when it fell as i was walking to my building" you explain, showing seunghan the four leafed clover keychain that's dangling on your bag
seunghan scoffs playfully, "of course you'd freak the fuck out if that keychain of yours gets lost. it is won-"
before seunghan could finish his sentence, you covered his mouth with your hand to prevent him from sharing more unnecessary info to a new person around the table
sion looks at you and seunghan all confused. is he missing something? but he decides not to pry since he literally just met you three
"anyway! hello sion we hope seunghan here doesn't make you insane with your practical exam coming" you greet, welcoming him to the table at least. karina and giselle both giggle as they welcome him as well
sion shyly smiles, hiding his face
"oh, you guys don't know how he is in class" sion murmurs, loud enough for everyone in the table to hear making everyone laugh
"hey! that's not true!" seunghan defends himself, "i'm a model student in class you know!"
you all now start to converse among yourselves, as seunghan and sion start their little meeting about what song they would like to perform for their upcoming practical exams, you girls also added your input and opinions while suggesting songs that could work for the two of them. telling seunghan to credit the three of you for their performance to which the latter quips that he'd make a whole monologue at the beginning of their performance about how their performance would be a special one as his friends added their own magic to it when the day comes causing the table to laugh at the absurdity of it
after awhile everyone was just doing their own things and killing time. your phone suddenly vibrates. you checked the notification and it was a message from wonbin
[1:19 PM] binnie 😡: tell seunghan to pipe it down i can hear what song he wants to perform
you let out a small chuckle. you look up, looking around the cafeteria to see where wonbin was at and at the corner of your eye, you spot someone waving their phone in the air. a smile is instantly plastered on your face when you recognize the person as wonbin
[1:21 PM] binnie 😡: found u hahahaha [1:22 PM] you: weirdo. stalker much? [1:23 PM] binnie 😡: you literally know i'm gonna be at the cafeteria today hahaha we just finished our own meeting. can i sit with you guys or am i in enemy territory? hahahaha [1:23 PM] binnie 😡: jk
you roll your eyes playfully at his text
[1:24 PM] you: obv its okay to sit with us tf we look like? [1:25 PM] binnie 😡: the mean girls. regina, gretchen, karen and cady [1:26 PM] you: i'm impressed you know the characters.. but who is hanie supposed to be? [1:27 PM] binnie 😡: damian?
you burst out laughing at his text, catching the attention of everyone in the table. seunghan, who read the contact name, immediately snatches your phone of your hand
"oh my god no texting your boyfriend when your friends are around!" seunghan playfully gags and makes vomit noises
"hanie!" you yelped, snatching your phone back, "why did you have to snatch my phone!"
seunghan shrugs, "probably because your boyfriend–"
"who's boyfriend?" wonbin suddenly inserts himself to the conversation, smoothly taking the empty space on seunghan's left, throwing his backpack on the ground
"YOU!" seunghan points a menacing finger at wonbin, "you're y/n's boyfriend! fess up now while sion's here!"
wonbin looks over at seunghan and sees sion poking his head out. sion waves at wonbin and even winks at him making wonbin laugh
"woah what the fuck" wonbin reacts, totally not expecting sion to sit with you guys
"yo" sion greets. he takes a moment to look between you and wonbin, trying to piece it together thanks to seunghan's whole tangent. "nice to meet your girlfriend?" sion says more of a question as he looks between you and wonbin for confirmation
you and wonbin shake your heads no causing seunghan and giselle to groan
"they're at it again" giselle complains, putting her head in her hands while karina laughs quietly amongst herself
you shoot wonbin a knowing look and he returns the favor by smiling
"SEE! THEY'RE LITERALLY FLIRTING WITH THEIR EYES IN FRONT OF US" seunghan shakes his hands in pure desperation to prove that there really is something going on between you and his friend
"just mind your business and make up your mind with the song you and sion are going to perform" you shrug him off, causing sion and wonbin to burst out laughing

Romcom - with Hotch ? 👀🫶🏼
Girl i’ve been waiting for the right time for you to hopefully take this and do your thing with it cuz you’re amazing. I know it’s specific and long so pls feel free to do with it what you like. Also I’m not sure it fits your movie night theme, so then maybe just keep it for when you maybe do wanna write it???? Here it is, whatever….
K so like hotch and reader are like couple goals, been married long, working through everything and are just downright adorable BUT THEN hotch nearly dies…like for real gets shot in the stomach or something - something real scary. And aaaaall the time he’s mumbleling stuff, reassuringly or scared like: you cant tell my wife she’ll end me or tell her I’m fine, gonna be home for dinner…
But maybe she’s there and she’s trying her hardest to make everybody move, but Morgan is just not having it, making her stay tf back…
When she finally sees him she’s s c a r e d…so terrified of might having actually lost him, of it happening again cuz he will be in these situations again and who is she if not supportive and understanding…just scared and hopelessly in love. bye.
honey you essentially just wrote a whole ass masterpiece on your own
but you asked for my dramatic flair & I am nothing if not a dramatic bitch that lives for the ✨ t h e a t r e ✨
headcannon below the cut
if i stay starring aaron hotchner
Tumblr media
derek knew you would physically fist fight him in the middle of that hospital hallway if he even dared to try and keep you out of hotch's room. he kept trying to reason with you, that you wouldn't wanna see him in that state, but you were not in a state of mind to be reasoned with
when you got the call from rossi that your husband was in the hospital, that familiar stone of dread sank in your stomach, nearly sending you through the floor. he didn't say what had happened, not over the phone, but you could hear the fear in his voice, which terrified you
the solemn faces of his team didn't help ease your anxiety, and the grisly details sent your nervous system into a full on meltdown. you could only pick up bits and pieces of what the surgeon explained
gunshot. loss of blood. critical condition. touch and go.
being in the bau was a dangerous job, and hotch had gotten hurt a few times over the course of your marriage, but it had never been this bad
nothing could've prepared you for the sight of hotch bruised and bloodied, laying in a hospital bed, connected to a bunch of wires that were keeping him alive, with an oxygen tube in his nose to help his weakened lungs do the most basic of human subconscious functions
panic, fear, anger, hopelessness, desperation, sadness; all of these emotions were crashing over each other like perilous tides and you were drowning beneath their tenacity
hotch was the strongest person you knew, physically and mentally. he was your rock. to see him reduced to something so fragile and broken shattered something within you. it wasn't like you were foolish enough to think your husband was invincible, but he was smart and cautious, he knew what he was doing. but today reminded you just how human he was
all you could do was sit there by his side and hold his hand while you fluctuated from silent weeping to full fledged sobbing. it didn't feel like enough, but it was all you could do. you couldn't help but replay this morning over and over in your head, analyzing every frame. had you told him you loved him? had you kissed him before he left? had you savored the few seconds before he walked out the door, not knowing that he might not walk back through it?
"don't tell my wife."
you'd been sitting there for what felt like an eternity in silence with nothing but the haunting background noise of beeping machines and chatter in the hallway. it was so faint, you almost didn't hear it. hotch still looked like he was sleeping, and you weren't sure if you'd imagined it or not
"what?"
you leaned in a little closer, and when he let out a deep exhale, the first sign of life you'd seen since you stepped into this room, you almost burst into tears
"don't tell my wife."
his speech was slightly slurred as he mumbled, and you weren't sure if it was due to the blood loss or the anesthesia that was wearing off from surgery
"why not?"
he was so out of it he didn't even seem to recognize your voice
"because she'll kick my ass."
you couldn't stop the laugh that escaped your lips at that, covering your mouth with your hand while the most imperceptible of a smile tugged at the edge of his lips
"I promised i'd be home for dinner."
giving his hand a gentle squeeze, you sniffled and wiped at your damp cheeks with a sad smile
"i'm sure she'll understand if you're a little late."
a sound that was a cross between a snort and a scoff left hotch as one of his thick dark brows subtly arched
"you haven't met my wife."
brushing your thumb over the back of his hand, you reached out with your other to gently push his hair back
"maybe this is a cosmic sign it's time for a vacation."
in the midst of gently carding your fingers through his hair, the next words that left his lips caught you off guard and made you go still
"maybe it's time to retire."
a full minute of silence passed, and then slowly, hotch's eyes opened, and as if drawn by some invisible magnetic force, the immediately found you
the pressure of him squeezing your hand, a silent gesture of not just reassurance, but also his strength returning, had tears welling up in your eyes all over again
hotch slowly turned his head to look at you, his eyes wandering over your face like he was trying to memorize every detail, and then a gentle but weak smile graced his mouth
"I won't be late for dinner ever again, honey."
I made myself emotional and now i'm gonna go cry excuse me

self aware caleb? yummy
part 1
you were in deep concentration when you heard a grunt coming from your phone while studying with caleb. he was staring at you from the phone, which you assumed was a glitch in the game.
"caleb, honey, if you make sounds like that just as i finally concentrate i swear to god i'll throw you across the room," you threaten him playfully, totally unaware that he understood every word that you said.
you return to focusing on your textbook, trying to regain the ability to pay complete attention to it. his eyebrows pinch together. who was this girl, and why was he seeing her? he was unaware if you were danger or not, you did just threaten him.
he waited until he heard a ding, watching you sigh. "finally, i finished studying. let's get me some food," you speak to him, confusing him even more. "who are you?" he asks, his tone was cautious.
"what the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck?" you panic. you stare in all directions, blissfully ignorant to the device in your hand. you finally looked at your phone and caleb is closer to the screen now. "nah, i must be dreaming," you snicker and go to the kitchen.
he was annoyed now. "no, you are not," he confirms your suspicion. "caleb? what the fuck?"
"yeah, that's my name. who are you and why am I able to see you?" he asks you with more aggression this time. you read stories about these things but never really imagined them to happen. and you did what you thought you would do while reading them instead of freaking out. explain to him your world, of course. but you were so close to pissing your pants, partly from excitement. but this was a dream come true, were you really gonna waste it on some stupid sense of fear?
"this is gonna take a while, buddy. you might wanna sit down for this," you say with a sigh, motioning him to sit down.
you told him about your world, and how magic and superpowers don't exist and how he was in a game. it took you about an hour. he was attentive, listening to every word you were saying, not taking his eyes off of you.
"so....to summarise it up, i'm an otome game character and that girl from my childhood is not real either. just not aware?" he asks, you nod. "the creators are so cruel, man. why would they make a cool guy like me go through that?" he remarks, a grin etched onto his face despite the sadness behind that statement.
"i don't feel anything towards her now, though," he states while scratching his nape, feeling lost. "i guess you aren't my love interest anymore, aw." he remained quiet at that statement, wondering what happens now. sure, he was attracted to the person he was talking with right now. but wouldn't it end tragically if he were to fall for you?
pushing those thoughts aside, he was curious about the real world, "how are the people there?" he asks you. "they're......cruel. but the people around me now are pretty alright, i don't go out much because i prefer staying at home," you reply.
"cruel? how so?" he questions, unconvinced with your answer. he was expecting the world to be better, without deception and unfortunate circumstances. "for starters, women here are still struggling, being treated disgustingly, racism is more prevalent than ever, the nazis are somewhat back, some orange white capitalist dude is ruining an already ruined country, and everyone's suffering," you finally take a breath.
you watch caleb's conflicted expression, regretting info-dumping on him so much. "so it's the same like here," he trails off. "it's still as shitty as here," he completes.
"don't think so, your world seems slightly better. i think i would be scared of walking alone at night because of wanderers instead of men," you state. he felt bad for you, and a familiar protective feeling resurfaces, the one he was conditioned to feel for the girl in the game now felt for you.
it was weird how he no longer recognized whoever that was. "i feel like i know you more than the character in here," he confesses. "well, she's basically me. although the personality is different, her name and stuff is basically mine."
caleb sighs in relief. it brought him some comfort knowing you were controlling it, not him involuntarily falling for someone he didn't know consciously.
"this sucks, i would rather be there with you," he reveals. he probably didn't know that made your heart flutter just a teeny tiny bit. just a little bit. "don't say stuff like that," you warn him. "hm? why?"
"i've read stories like this and they always end painfully. you'll start wanting to be with me because of my amazing gorgeous personality and eventually we'll do the boom boom pow online. suddenly you'll wanna do it with me, then you'll visit me and you'll have to choose between that world or this world. then you'll realize this world sucks and you'll have to give up our love. you'll go along with the mc and i'll end up missing that ding-a-ling," a shit-eating grin made its way onto your face. you felt proud of yourself.
he suddenly starts laughing at the way you worded the whole thing. "you're really something," he says making you snort. "i won't fall in love with you, i'm not that dumb," he states. you ignore the soft clench in your heart.
"are you sure you can resist all this, baby?" you flip your hair and wink at him. he rubs his ears to hide the redness, which was an unusual movement because his character never did that.
"positive, baby," he flirts back. it was your time to blush now. you clear your throat in embarrassment, "wanna see me cook?" you look at him hopefully, wanting to show off your skills. "i'll cook along too," he says.
he moves to his kitchen, the view to you was like as if you were on a video call. the screen showing you things in the game you wouldn't normally be able to see.
you hear a knock on your front door. "hey, lemme just check that and come back," you tell him before going to the door. your neighbour wanted some salad dressing. he was a fairly tall, good looking guy. he was married though, and he carried his ring around everywhere.
caleb watches the stranger waltz into your kitchen. his brows furrow in discontent. he didn't like the idea of you letting in another man into your house. he pinches himself and finally snaps out of it. 'you just met her properly for the first time, loser. control.'
the neighbour thankfully doesn't notice the animated but realistic man on your phone glaring at him. "thanks," the man smiles at you and leaves your house. "who was that?" caleb finally asks the question he was itching to ask. "my neighbour, he's making salad for his husband," you casually mention, unaware of the relief he felt. he was married, perfect.
you turn your back towards the camera and bend down to pick up a spoon that fell earlier. your ass on full display to him, well, not exactly, you had some shorts on. you didn't realize it, despite being an incredibly self-aware person. but caleb got the biggest loser boner ever.
he shifts in his place uncomfortably. "caleb, are you okay?" you ask with concern. "yes, great actually," he skillfully covers it up with a cough. "just getting used to not following a script."
this was gonna take a while.

# summary: she's been his pa for almost a year and every day is a struggle to function around him, but he'll never see her more than that...will he? and what will happen if he finds out she's also a virgin? masterlist.
The Atlanta airport is different after months of European terminals. Everything's louder, more familiar, more home. Leila's dragging her designer luggage (a gift from Josette on her birthday) past Popeyes and Chick-fil-A, the smell making her realize how much she's missed proper Southern food.
Her mama nearly drops her church hat when she walks through the door unannounced, clutching her chest like Leila's appearance might send her straight to Jesus.
"Lord have mercy! What are you doing here? Is everything okay? Did that boy—" Jeanna Mae's already reaching for her phone, probably to alert the whole prayer circle about her prodigal daughter's return.
"Mama, breathe." Leila drops her bags by the door, taking in the familiar scent of sweet potato pie and those vanilla plugins. The house looks exactly the same – family photos covering every surface, that ancient TV guide that hasn't been opened since streaming existed, her daddy's old recliner still in its spot of honor.
"Don't tell me to breathe when you show up looking like somebody broke your heart." Her mama's fingers are flying across her phone screen. "And I bet it's about that captain of yours. The one who won't admit his feelings."
"Mama—"
"Don't 'mama' me. You flew across an ocean to run from that boy. I raised you better than that."
Before Leila can defend her life choices, her phone explodes with notifications:
Yolanda: BITCH YOU'RE HOME??? Kenzi: Emergency drinks at Slim & Husky's in 30. This is not a request Tasha: Don't even think about saying no. We saw your IG stories Yolanda: Already ordered the wine. GET HERE
Her mama's already pushing her toward the stairs, that knowing look in her eyes. "Go change. Your girls are waiting. But don't think this conversation is over. I want to know everything about this William boy too."
"How do you even—"
"Baby girl, I might be old but I know how to use Instagram. Now go. But we're having a proper talk when you get back."
An hour later, she's squeezed into a booth at Slim & Husky's, surrounded by her best friends since middle school and enough pizza and wine to fuel a proper intervention. The restaurant's busy for a weeknight, filled with that specific Atlanta energy she didn't realize she'd missed.
"So let me get this straight," Yolanda leans forward, wine glass dangling dangerously while her bamboo earrings catch the light. "You got TWO fine African men fighting over you? In EUROPE?"
"They're not fighting—"
"Girl, please." Kenzi rolls her eyes so hard they might get stuck. "One's bringing you Lebanese food while the other's having whole breakdowns in tunnels? That's fighting. That's fighting in multiple languages."
"And you're here because…?" Tasha raises an eyebrow, already reaching for another slice. "Because from where I'm sitting, you running from good dick. Multiple good dicks."
"I needed space," Leila adjusts her glasses, a nervous habit that makes her friends exchange looks. "From both of them. From all of it."
"Space?" All three look at her like she's lost her European mind.
"From the situation," she clarifies. "It's complicated."
"What's complicated about your captain being clearly in love with you but too scared to say it?" Yolanda's got that look that means she's about to start speaking truths nobody asked for.
"Or about you dating his teammate to make him jealous?" Kenzi adds, signaling for more wine. "Because baby, that's what you're doing."
"I am NOT—"
"You are." Tasha cuts her off, voice gentle but firm. "And baby? That never ends well. Trust someone who knows."
"Plus," Kenzi adds, "that William seems sweet. He doesn't deserve to be your rebound."
"He's not—"
"He is." All three say it in unison, years of friendship making them a well-oiled truth-telling machine.
"Look," Yolanda sets down her wine glass like she's about to deliver a sermon. "You got these two fine men – both rich, both fine as hell, both clearly interested. One's bringing you food and treating you right, while the other's having whole emotional breakdowns over you but won't say why. And instead of dealing with it, you flew home to eat pizza with us."
"The pizza is good though," Leila mutters.
"Not better than French dick," Tasha coughs into her wine.
The truth of it all hits different over pizza and pinot noir in her hometown, surrounded by friends who've known her since she was wearing Limited Too and dreaming about her first kiss. Maybe she did run. Maybe she's still running.
But maybe she needed to come home to figure out where she's actually trying to go.
"So what are you gonna do?" Kenzi asks softly.
Leila looks down at her phone – no messages from Aurélien, but three from William checking if she landed safely.
"I don't know."
But that's a lie.
She does know.
She's just not ready to admit it yet.
"Well if it isn't the finest women in Atlanta."
The voice makes Leila's entire body cringe before she even looks up. Torrance Johnson – high school quarterback turned local gym trainer – is standing at their table with that same smile that definitely worked better ten years ago.
"Torrance," Yolanda's voice could freeze hell. "Don't you have some protein shakes to blend?"
But he's already focused on Leila, eyes doing that slow scan that makes her wish she'd worn a turtleneck. "Damn girl, Europe's been good to you. When'd you get back?"
"She's not staying," Tasha cuts in. "And she's taken."
"By two men," Kenzi adds helpfully, earning herself a kick under the table.
"Two?" Torrance's eyebrows shoot up. "Nah, can't be. Our Leila? Miss Voted Most Likely to Marry Her Books?"
Something about the way he says it – that hint of dismissal, that suggestion that she couldn't possibly have multiple men interested – reminds her exactly why she left Atlanta in the first place.
Her eyes catch on his deliberately distressed jeans, probably bought that way from some boutique in Buckhead, and suddenly all she can think about is Aurélien. How he dresses like every Atlanta rapper's Pinterest board come to life, all designer streetwear and chains that probably cost more than Torrance's trainer fees.
"You should go," she says finally, not even looking up from her wine. "Your protein shakes are calling."
"Come on now—"
"She said go." Yolanda's voice carries enough attitude to make several nearby tables look over.
He leaves, but not before dropping his card on the table with a wink that probably works better on girls who haven't seen him throw up at prom.
"The audacity," Tasha mutters, reaching for more wine. "Acting like you ain't out here with whole European footballers fighting over you."
"They're not—"
"Girl, if you say they're not fighting one more time," Kenzi cuts in. "We've seen the videos. Your captain looked ready to commit murder in that tunnel."
"And William?" Yolanda adds. "That's not just trying to get some, that's husband behavior."
Leila's phone buzzes – another text from William asking how her first night home is going. Nothing from Aurélien, but Cama has sent her a video of him absolutely destroying the training ground equipment.
"You know what's funny?" she says finally, still staring at her phone. "Aurélien dresses exactly like these Atlanta boys trying to look hard. All ripped jeans and chains and-"
"Baby," Tasha interrupts gently, "the fact that you're thinking about how he dresses tells us everything we need to know."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means," Yolanda starts, "that you flew across an ocean to get away from your feelings but you're still noticing his clothes."
"His very expensive clothes," Kenzi adds. "Not whatever Fashion Nova collection Torrance was trying to rock."
"Can we not—"
"Compare them?" Tasha grins. "Too late. We've all seen your Instagram stories. We know exactly what kind of men you're working with now."
"And neither of them," Yolanda adds, "is anything like these local boys trying to act like they're something. Your captain might dress Atlanta, but baby? That man's got that real money energy. And William?"
"Pure class," Kenzi nods. "The way he looks at you in those photos? Like you hung the moon or something."
"Meanwhile Aurélien looks at you like he's trying to figure out how to possess your soul," Tasha observes. "In a hot way."
"Y'all are doing too much," Leila mutters, but her cheeks are warm.
"Are we though?" Yolanda challenges. "Because from where I'm sitting, you've got two whole meals fighting over you in Europe while Torrance 'Peak in High School' Johnson is trying to get your attention with some jeans he probably bought at ASOS."
"The difference," Kenzi adds, "is that Aurélien's probably wearing jeans that cost more than Torrance's car."
"And William's probably never worn distressed anything in his life," Tasha laughs.
"Can we talk about something else?" Leila pleads. "Anything else?"
"Sure," Yolanda grins. "Let's talk about how you're going to handle going back to work. That's coming whether you're ready or not."
The reminder sits heavy in her stomach. One week left of pretending she's not running from her feelings. One week of Georgia comfort before facing reality.
Her phone buzzes again – a text from her mama this time:
That boy called me again. The captain. Asked how you were.
She turns her phone face down.
The chatter at the table felt like a lifeline, a reminder that even with the chaos of her love life — or whatever this was — her friends never changed.
"Alright, y’all," Leila starts, her tone light but her fingers nervously taps her glass. "If we’re gonna dissect my life like this, at least give me something useful. Any advice for handling… all of this?"
"You mean William?" Yolanda grin like she’s been waiting for this moment. "Or both of them?"
"Both," Leila admits, earning a chorus of gasps and exaggerated cheers from around the table.
"You kissed him, though?" Kenzi presses. "William? Wilo? What was it like?"
Leila took a sip of wine, letting the anticipation build. "It was… nice," she says, feigning nonchalance.
"Nice? Girl, come on!" Kenzi groans.
"Fine," Leila relents, a sly smile creeping onto her lips. "It made my kitty purr."
The table erupts, laughter bubbling up loud enough to turn a few heads in their direction.
"Big purr!" Yolanda cackles, fanning herself dramatically.
"And yet, you’re still hung up on Aurélien," Tasha says knowingly, swirling her wine like she had the upper hand in this conversation. "You can’t hide that."
"Because he’s got her heart," Yolanda teases. "William might’ve gotten a kiss, but Aurélien’s the one she wants to risk it all for."
"Okay, okay, but," Kenzi cuts in, her tone shifting into unsolicited-advice territory. "If you’re really gonna give Wilo a shot, you need to bring your A-game. Like, head game on ten."
Leila groans, her head falling into her hands. "Why do I feel like I’m about to regret asking this?"
"Because you probably are," Yolanda teases, ignoring her protest. "But listen up. The trick with a guy like William? You gotta be confident. Show him you know what you’re doing. And eye contact. Always."
"Exactly," Kenzi agrees, raising her glass. "And if he gets all quiet or grabs your hair—"
"I’m leaving," Leila interrupts, though she stayed firmly in her seat, face buried in her hands.
"You’re not going anywhere," Tasha says with a smirk. "This is gold, and you know it."
"I can’t believe I’m having this conversation," Leila mutters, peeking up from her hands.
"Believe it, baby," Yolanda says, taking a sip of her drink. "And take notes, because we all know William’s got that 'nice boy' energy, but Aurélien?"
"He’s giving 'break-the-headboard' energy," Tasha finishes matter-of-factly, earning another round of laughter.
Leila tries to glare at Tasha, but the heat rushing to her cheeks betrays her. "Y’all really have no chill, do you?"
"Not when we’re right," Yolanda says, sliding her phone across the table. "Speaking of Aurélien, have you seen this picture of him on the pitch? Look at his tongue."
Leila glances down reluctantly, only to be met with an image of Aurélien mid-game: shirt clinging to his torso, a sheen of sweat glistening under the stadium lights, his tongue peeking out in what was either concentration or defiance. His face was as expressive as ever, eyes lit with determination.
"You’re telling me this man isn’t whispering filthy things in French while making you see God?" Yolanda asks, her tone almost academic.
"I’m saying nothing," Leila says, snatching the phone and flipping it over. "Y’all are too much."
"But we’re not wrong," Kenzi shot back. "Aurélien looks like he’d talk you into doing things you didn’t even know you wanted to do. Just with that voice."
"And that tongue," Yolanda adds, grinning devilishly. "Girl, do you know how expressive his face is? Like, come on. He’s not just scoring goals on the pitch."
"Alright, that’s enough!" Leila protests, trying to keep her composure despite the riotous laughter around her.
"Enough?" Tasha raises a brow. "Girl, we’ve barely started. You can’t tell me you’ve never thought about it. About him and that—"
"I haven’t!" Leila lies, her voice is a little too high-pitched to be convincing.
"Uh-huh." Yolanda wasn’t buying it. "Listen, we’ve all seen the way he looks at you. That’s not just casual interest. That’s 'call out my name when you’re about to come' energy."
Kenzi nearly spat her drink. "I mean, facts, but damn, Yolanda, say it with your chest."
"She already did," Tasha quipps. "And she’s not wrong. Leila, you’ve got two literal snacks fighting over you. One’s sweet, one’s spicy. You’ve gotta at least taste one."
Leila groans, her face in her hands again. "Y’all are insufferable."
"But you love us," Kenzi says, reaching over to squeeze her hand. "And we love you. We just want you to live your best life. With both of them, if that’s what it takes."
"Big facts," Yolanda says, raising her glass. "To Leila living her best life, with Aurélien, William, and whoever else makes her kitty purr."
Leila couldn’t help but laugh, raising her own glass in surrender. "Y’all are ridiculous."
"Ridiculously right," Tasha says with a wink. "Now, tell us more about that kiss. Did he grab your waist? Your face? Both?"
And just like that, the teasing continued, leaving Leila both mortified and comforted. If nothing else, her girls always had her back, even if it meant roasting her into oblivion in the process.
*********************************************
Leila was halfway through her third slice of pizza at Slim & Husky’s when her phone buzzed on the table. The low hum of conversation and the warm scent of garlic and cheese filled the space, but the message on her screen stole her focus.
Wilo: Can you come to London next weekend? I miss you.
She stared at the words, her stomach twisting in a way that had nothing to do with the food. Her friends were busy splitting a cinnamon roll flight, oblivious to the sudden weight in her chest.
"You good?" Kenzi asks, nudging her shoulder.
Leila blinks, quickly locking her phone. "Yeah. Just Wilo being… Wilo."
"Oh, what’s he saying now?" Yolanda leans in, her curiosity obvious.
"Nothing important," Leila mutters, waving them off.
Her friends gave her knowing looks but didn’t press further. Leila took another bite of pizza, forcing herself to focus on the moment, the laughter, the easy camaraderie. But her phone felt heavier in her pocket now, like it was daring her to check it again.
Later that night, back at home, the scent of fried chicken and collard greens still lingered in the air from dinner. Leila leans against the counter, her hands wrapped around a mug of tea that had long gone lukewarm. The hum of the dishwasher filled the kitchen as her mama wiped down the table, and her daddy sat at the head, finishing the last of his sweet tea with a satisfied sigh.
"That hit the spot, baby," he says, patting his belly. His trucker hat was tipped back on his head, a little smudge of grease still on his hands from unloading earlier.
Her mama smiles, but the look she gave him was clear: We need some girl time.
He caught the silent signal and grins, pushing back his chair. "Alright, I know when I’m not needed. Leila, you make sure your mama doesn’t go pulling out another project this late. I’m gonna grab a shower."
"Yes, sir," Leila says with a small smile, watching him leave the room.
Her mama waited until the sound of the shower started before she finally spoke.
"You got something on your mind, girl?" her mama asks, setting down the dishcloth.
Leila hesitates. "No. Just tired."
Her mama raised a brow but didn’t push. Instead, she grabbed a glass of water and leaned on the counter across from Leila.
"You get my text about Aurélien calling me today?" she asks, her tone deceptively casual.
"Yeah."
"Wanted to check on you. Asked how you’ve been," her mama says, sipping her water.
Leila frowns. "What did you tell him?"
"Told him you’re grown, handling your business," her mama replies easily. "But he sounded worried. Said he missed you.”
Leila’s chest tightens, but she kept her expression cool. "He didn’t say that to me."
"Maybe he’s scared to," her mama says, fixing her with that all-knowing look. "Men don’t always say what they mean, but they show it in other ways."
Leila snorts, shaking her head. "He’s all talk, Mama. If he cared, he’d show up. William’s the one actually trying."
Her mama’s lips quirks up in a small smile. "Maybe. Or maybe you’re just scared of what it would mean if Aurélien came through. Scared to let him in."
Leila looks away, her throat tight. "I’m not scared."
"Sure you’re not," her mama says lightly, pushing off the counter. She paused to kiss the top of Leila’s head. "Just don’t be so busy keeping your options open that you miss out on what you really want."
As her mama walked out of the kitchen, Leila’s phone buzz again.
Wilo: Please, Leila. I just want to see you.
Her thumb hovers over the screen, but her mind isn’t on Wilo. It was on Aurélien and the way his name had sounded coming from her mama’s lips. The way her heart had skipped just a little at the thought of him calling to check on her.
***************************************
Leila only has a few more days at home, and it’s messing with her head. She thought coming back to Atlanta would give her clarity, but instead, it feels like everything is weighing on her even more. The whole thing with Aurélien and Wilo — it’s making everything harder.
Should she quit being Aurélien’s PA to be with Wilo? Or just quit being a PA altogether and finally figure herself out? But if she does quit, she’s not going back to corporate. Hell no. That life nearly drained her dry the first time around, and she’s not making that mistake again.
Still, the idea of starting fresh sounds good — better than being stuck in the middle of whatever this is. But then Wilo texts her again, and curiosity gets the better of her. What could this thing with him really be? Would it work if she gave it a real shot?
It’s late, but she picks up her phone and finally replies.
Leila: I’ll come see you this week.
His response comes almost immediately.
Wilo: This week? You sure?
Leila: Yeah. I’ll let you know when I land.
She doesn’t give herself time to overthink it. By morning, her ticket to London is booked, and by the afternoon, she’s already on her way to the airport. Her mama gives her one of those tight hugs that says, I know you’re up to something, but I’ll let you figure it out. Her daddy tells her to be safe, his attention mostly on the game playing on the living room TV.
The flight is smooth, and she spends most of it bouncing between nervous excitement and second-guessing herself. By the time she lands, her resolve is still intact, but she’s made one decision for sure— she’s not staying at Wilo’s house. That’s too much temptation, and she needs to be as clear-headed as possible.
Her hotel is chic but understated, the kind of place that feels luxurious without screaming it. She texts Wilo her room number once she’s checked in, her pulse kicking up as she sends it.
Not even twenty minutes later, there’s a knock at her door.
When she opens it, Wilo is standing there, dressed down in a hoodie and jeans, but somehow still looking like he just stepped out of a GQ spread. He’s holding a bouquet of white roses and grinning like he’s relieved she actually showed up.
"Hey," he says softly, his voice low and warm.
"Hey," she replies, stepping aside to let him in.
The air between them feels heavy but not uncomfortable. He hands her the flowers, his fingers brushing hers in a way that sends a jolt straight through her.
"I wasn’t sure if you were serious," he admits, watching her as she sets the flowers on the desk near the window.
"I was," she says, turning to face him. "I just… needed to make sure I was doing this for the right reasons."
"And?"
"And I’m here," she says simply, a small smile tugging at her lips.
Wilo steps closer, his gaze steady and unflinching. "I’m glad you are."
Leila feels her heart skip, but she keeps her cool, determined to stay clear-headed and focused. She’s not here to get swept away — at least, that’s what she tells herself.
"So," she says, breaking the moment before it gets too intense. "What’s the plan?"
He grins, his dimples making an appearance. "I thought we’d just wing it. Unless you’ve got something in mind?"
"Wing it works," she says, grabbing her jacket.
As they head out, she can’t help but wonder if she’s walking into something that will make everything even more complicated — or if, for once, it might actually lead to something real.
Leila and Wilo keep it low-key, staying under the radar as much as possible. No fancy dinners or crowded hotspots — just little moments that feel easy. They grab coffee at a quiet café tucked into a side street, the kind of place with mismatched chairs and a barista who doesn’t even blink at Wilo’s recognizable face.
Later, they wander through a park, laughing about something stupid Wilo said. It’s simple, and it feels good — so good that Leila starts to think this could actually work.
At one point, they find themselves in a small record store. Wilo flips through vinyls, holding one up every now and then with a smug grin. "You’d love this," he says, handing her a Prince album.
Leila rolls her eyes but takes it anyway, her fingers brushing against his for a second too long. It’s moments like this that make her question everything she thought she wanted or didn’t want.
As they sit down for a late lunch at a quiet bistro, she sneaks a photo of Wilo, mid-laugh, the light catching just right on his face. She uploads it to her Close Friends story, tagging it with a coy little caption: London’s treating me well.
Her Close Friends list is carefully curated. Aurélien isn’t on it — he never has been — but Jules and Cama are. And if she knows anything about them, they’re definitely going to report back.
And she doesn’t care.
Part of her wants them to. She wants Aurélien to see the photo, to know she’s here, to feel something. Everyone keeps saying he has feelings for her, but he’s never done anything to prove it. No grand gesture, no confession, not even a drunken text. If he has feelings, he hides them well, and Leila’s tired of guessing.
As the day goes on, though, her phone stays silent. No text, no DM, nothing. She tries to push it out of her mind, focusing on Wilo instead. He’s attentive, sweet, and clearly into her, and she knows she should be grateful for that.
But as much as she tries to stay present, Aurélien lingers in the back of her mind.
When she gets back to her hotel that evening, Wilo walks her to her door, his hand lingering at her lower back. He leans in to kiss her, but she stops him with a soft smile.
"Not tonight," she says, her voice gentle but firm.
Wilo steps back, nodding. "I get it," he says, his tone understanding. "Goodnight, Leila."
"Goodnight," she replies, watching him walk away before stepping into her room.
As she sits on the edge of the bed, scrolling mindlessly through her phone, she starts to wonder if it’s time to cut her losses entirely. Maybe Aurélien’s silence is her answer. Maybe it’s time to stop waiting for something that’s never going to happen.
She exhales sharply, tossing her phone onto the nightstand. Whatever happens next, she knows one thing for sure: she’s done chasing after a man who won’t meet her halfway.
Tumblr media
Leila wakes up to the soft hum of her phone vibrating against the nightstand. She groggily grabs it, squinting at the screen. A text from Wilo.
Wilo: Training’s at nine. Match starts at six. Rest up so you don’t fall asleep in the stands.
She rolls her eyes but smiles, setting the phone down. Today is her last full day in London, and as much as she’s enjoyed the ease of her time with Wilo, the reality of going back to Madrid looms like a cloud over her.
By the time she’s up and moving, Wilo’s already at the training ground, leaving her with a slow morning to herself. She takes her time getting ready, picking out a sleek but casual outfit for the game: a fitted cream sweater tucked into high-waisted jeans and ankle boots. Makeup just this side of "I woke up like this" but definitely intentional and finally using her contact lenses (bout goddamn time).
As the day creeps toward evening, she grabs an Uber to the stadium. She’s buzzed into the VIP entrance, her name already on the list, and escorted to her seat in the family section. The energy inside the stadium is electric, fans chanting and waving scarves as the teams warm up. She watches Wilo out on the pitch, his warmup jacket zipped up to his chin as he jogs and stretches. He looks calm, focused, and seeing him like this — so in his element — makes her chest tighten in a way she wasn’t expecting.
The match kicks off, and it’s tense from the start. Liverpool presses hard, their attacks relentless, but Arsenal holds their own. Wilo is sharp on the ball, threading passes with precision and orchestrating plays like he was born to do it. Leila watches, captivated, her hands gripping the edge of her seat every time he makes a dangerous run or intercepts a pass.
At halftime, the score is still 0-0, and the tension in the stadium is palpable. Leila scrolls through her phone, trying to distract herself, but her notifications are quiet. She had half-expected a message from Jules or Cama, but apparently, they’ve decided to keep their mouths shut or maybe Aurélien just doesn’t care.
The second half is even more intense. Liverpool finally scores, and the stadium goes silent except for the away fans celebrating. But Arsenal fights back, and in the 50th minute, Wilo delivers a stunning assist that leads to an equalizer. The crowd erupts, and Leila finds herself on her feet, cheering and clapping like she’s been an Arsenal fan her whole life.
When the final whistle blows, the game ends in a 2-2 draw. It’s not a win, but it’s a hard-fought point, and the energy in the stadium reflects that.
After the match, she’s escorted to the family area. She spots Bukayo Saka almost immediately, his bright smile unmistakable as he chats with a group of people. He notices her standing off to the side and makes his way over.
"Hey, you’re Wilo’s friend, right?" Bukayo asks, extending a hand.
Leila shakes it, her lips curving into a polite smile. "Yeah, Leila. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too. He’s been talking about you all week."
Her cheeks warm at that, but she keeps her composure. "Hopefully, only good things."
Bukayo laughs. "Yeah, don’t worry. All good things."
They chat for a bit, Bukayo’s easygoing nature making the conversation flow effortlessly. He’s mid-sentence when someone else calls out to him, and he waves before excusing himself. Leila glances around the room, her eyes landing on a familiar figure — Ibou Konaté.
Ibou catches her gaze and raises an eyebrow. "So. You and Wilo, it's serious, huh?"
She rolls her eyes. "Don't start."
He chuckles, those famous dimples appearing. "Brussels was interesting. Aurélien wasn't exactly subtle about his mood."
Leila freezes. "What are you talking about?"
"Come on," Ibou says, leaning in. "You think Les Bleus don't talk? After those Israel and Belgium matches? Aure looked like he was one bad pass away from committing murder every time Wilo was mentioned." His tone is knowing, just this side of teasing. "He's not gonna like this. Not one bit."
"Ibou—" she starts, a warning in her voice.
He holds up his hands. "Just saying. Some captains get… particular about things." The way he says it makes it clear he's talking about Aurélien specifically. "Wilo's a good guy. But Aure? Man's complicated."
Leila can't help the small laugh that escapes. "Tell me about it."
She chats with Ibou for a few more minutes then he gave her a hug before he left. Her phone then buzzes. A text from Wilo.
Wilo: Where you at?
She types a quick response: Family area. Waiting on you.
A few minutes later, he appears, freshly showered and dressed in casual streetwear. His eyes find hers instantly, and he makes his way over, his lips curving into a soft smile.
"Tired?" he asks, sitting down beside her.
"Not really," she lies. In truth, the emotional weight of the day — of the entire trip — is starting to catch up with her.
"Good," he says. "I want to take you out for one last drink before you leave."
She hesitates, but only for a second. "Okay," she says, her voice steady.
They leave the stadium together, slipping out a side exit to avoid the lingering fans and media. The bar he takes her to is quiet and intimate, tucked away in a corner of the city she doesn’t recognize. They sit in a cozy booth, nursing their drinks and talking about everything and nothing.
For a moment, it feels easy — like they’re just two people enjoying each other’s company without the weight of the world pressing down on them.
But as the night winds down, the reality of her impending departure settles heavily between them.
"Thanks for today," she says as they stand outside the bar, the cool night air nipping at her skin.
"Anytime," he says, his eyes searching hers.
She knows she should say more — explain how much she’s appreciated his kindness, his patience, his effort — but the words catch in her throat.
Wilo steps closer, his hands finding her waist in a way that feels both casual and deliberate. "Can I take you back?" he asks, his voice low and warm.
She nods, and just like that, they’re walking back to her hotel. The streets are quieter now, the city winding down around them. Leila keeps her hands in her pockets, but Wilo’s presence beside her feels grounding, a steady reminder that for tonight, she doesn’t have to figure everything out.
At the hotel entrance, she pauses, not quite ready to say goodbye. "You don’t have to walk me all the way up," she says softly.
"Didn’t plan to," he teases, though his smile is gentle.
Still, he lingers. He tilts her chin up with a finger, his touch light, testing. When she doesn’t pull away, he leans down and kisses her. It’s soft at first, a question she answers without hesitation, leaning into him like she’s been waiting for this all night.
His hands slide to her hips, pulling her closer, and for a moment, she forgets everything — Aurélien, the uncertainty, the nagging voice in her head telling her this is a bad idea. All she knows is the warmth of Wilo’s lips against hers, the way he tastes like the pint he ordered earlier, the way he makes her feel wanted.
When they break apart, she’s breathless, her heart pounding. "I should…" she starts, but the rest of the sentence never comes.
"You should," he agrees, though there’s a glint in his eye that says he knows she won’t.
Panic creep into her thoughts, uninvited but impossible to ignore. Wilo is right here, and he’s been nothing but good to her. Why is she still holding back?
"Do you want to come up?" The question slips out before she can stop it, her voice quieter than she intended.
Wilo studies her for a beat, searching her face for something —hesitation, regret, a reason to say no. Whatever he finds seems to satisfy him, because he nods. "Yeah," he says simply.
The elevator ride to her floor is silent, the air between them charged. By the time they reach her room, her nerves are buzzing, though she doesn’t quite know if it’s anticipation or anxiety.
Inside, she tosses her bag onto the chair and turns to face him. He’s already close, closing the distance between them in two strides. This time, his kiss isn’t soft or questioning - it’s confident, urgent, like he’s been waiting for her permission all night.
Her hands find their way to his shoulders, then his chest, sliding under the fabric of his shirt. His skin is warm, his muscles taut under her touch. He groans softly against her lips, the sound sending a shiver down her spine.
"Leila," he murmurs, his voice rough. It’s not a question, but it feels like one, like he’s giving her a chance to stop this before it goes too far.
But she doesn’t want to stop. Not tonight. Not when everything feels this good, this right.
"Don’t think," she whispers, her words muffled against his lips, feeling a pull to give in even though her mind is screaming at her to stop.
It feels too good — his mouth on hers, his hands now sliding under the hem of her sweater, fingertips brushing her skin in a way that sends a bolt of heat straight through to her kitty. For a second, she can forget everything. Forget the uncertainty, the guilt. Forget Aurélien and the pressure of what she’s supposed to want, what she’s supposed to feel.
Her heart beats faster, and the only thing that matters is the way Wilo’s kiss deepens, pulling her closer as if they’re both drowning in each other, but even as she gets lost in the sensation, the thought of what this means for later creeps up, a whisper in her mind.
Stop before you do something you’ll regret, her inner voice warns, and it’s almost a shout against the moment. She should pull away, tell him this is a mistake, that she’s not ready to complicate things more than they already are.
Yet then, the conversation with her girls back in Atlanta echoes in her mind. Because why should she keep hanging on to something that wasn’t even clear? Wilo is here, and he’s been nothing but good to her. He’s showing her attention — something she craves, something that’s been missing for too long.
She breathes in, pulling away just enough to look at him, her hands resting on his chest, feeling his heartbeat under her palms. Her voice is barely a whisper, but it carries a weight. "I’m not... I’m not gonna go all the way," she says, almost like a promise, though part of her wishes she could just let go.
Wilo doesn’t pull away, his eyes searching hers, gauging her intentions. "Just a taste, then?" he murmurs, the question laced with a little teasing but also an understanding. He isn’t pushing her. He’s letting her make the call.
A part of her wants to shake her head, to step back and stop this before it goes too far. She knows better, knows she shouldn’t be using him to fill a gap that Aurélien has left wide open. However, Wilo’s not asking for anything more than what she’s willing to give him right now — and, hell, maybe she needs it. Plus, he got her panties wetter than a Slip N' Slide.
She smiles a little, though it’s hesitant, her mind still conflicted. "Yeah," she says softly, her fingers tracing the outline of his jaw. "Just a taste."
And in that moment, it feels like a decision.
His lips are back on hers instantly, and the kiss deepens with an urgency that’s different now, like they both know the boundaries but are still curious enough to see how far they can go. His hands are sliding back to her waist, tugging her closer until she can feel the heat of him through their clothes.
Wilo’s hands are warm, exploring, but careful. He’s taking his time, sensing her hesitation, allowing her the space to pull back if she needs it. But she doesn’t. Instead, she lets herself go, leaning into the moment as his lips travel to her neck, his breath warm against her skin. Every kiss feels like a promise she isn’t sure she’s ready to make, but she’s here, and she’s going to live in the now. She’s not sure how much longer she can keep pretending she doesn’t want this, doesn’t want him.
Leila can feel her pulse quicken as Wilo’s hands slide down her arms, gently tugging at the fabric of her sweater. The air between them crackles with the same electricity that had been building ever since her first day in London.
With a soft tug, he pulls the sweater over her head, leaving her in just a bra. She can feel the cool air of the hotel room against her skin and Wilo’s eyes don’t leave hers as he strips off his own shirt, revealing his toned chest and abs. She feels her breath hitch, the sight of him sending a wave of heat through her.
He notices her reaction, a slow smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "You okay?" he asks, his voice low and teasing.
Ho-ly shit. Leila nods, her heart pounding in her chest. "Yeah," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. "Just… wasn’t expecting all of that."
He chuckles softly and gets closer, his hands resting gently on her hips before his lips find hers. Leila kisses him back, feeling the pull of desire stir within her.
They stumble backward onto the bed, their lips still tangled in a kiss, the heat between them intensifying. She can’t help but enjoy the feel of his hands on her body, the way his fingers move with intention, his touch confident yet tender. When his hands wander, brushing along her sides and up her back before copping a feel on her titties, his dick pressing against her thigh; she arches into him instinctively. His touch makes her feel seen, cherished, in a way she hasn't felt in a long time.
Leila wonders what would happen if she let go entirely. What if she just let herself be free of all the things that tie her down?
Even in the heat of it all, a small part of her pulls back. She remembers the life she’s built — the career she’s worked for — and wonders if she’s willing to risk it all for something that might be temporary.
Her phone starts vibrating. Once. Twice.
One of Wilo's hands is tracing lazy circles along her lower back. "Ignore it," he murmurs, his lips still brushing the shell of her ear.
She does — until the phone goes nuclear. Ping. Ping. Ping-ping-ping. A digital storm that practically rattles the walls.
Wilo raises an eyebrow, pulling back just enough to glance at her phone. "Damn," he mutters under his breath.
Her screen is chaos. Four missed calls. Multiple texts. And, of course, a voice note from Aurélien.
The timing? Almost comical. Almost.
Leila swipes open the messages. They’re an avalanche — each one more urgent than the last. Her thumb hovers over the voice note, hesitant but not enough to stop her. A ticking time bomb of potential drama.
She looks at Wilo, a flicker of guilt passing through her, before her eyes drift back to the phone. Wilo doesn’t move, just watches her, unreadable.
"Give me a sec," she mutters, pulling away from him and sliding off the bed. The space between them feels too wide now, too obvious, but she ignores it, heading for the bathroom.
Door closed. Her back pressed against it, she lifts the phone to her ear.
Aurélien's voice hits her like a slap. Broken. Fragmented. Each word jagged, like he's stumbling through a maze of his own making.
"Leila, I—" His breath hitches. "I can't—" The silence is thick, filled with the things he's too scared to say. "Je suis—"
Her heart, traitorous as ever, speeds up. She presses the phone tighter to her ear, her own breath shaky in response to his.
Another ping. A text. She opens it without thinking.
First, a video. Aurélien's hands. His long fingers dancing over the piano keys in that way she knows too well. The melody — raw, unfinished. Like he’s trying to patch a hole in the air between them.
Then, a screenshot. A letter. A confession. Handwritten, messy, vulnerable. It’s almost too much to take.
Her breath catches.
The world outside the bathroom door feels distant. Almost unreal. Her mind pulls her back, urging her to breathe, to think. But the words on the screen? They’re the kind that push all logic aside.
Her finger hovers over the phone, but she can’t bring herself to delete the message. She opens it again.
The letter fills the screen, and it makes her chest tighten as she reads.
"I don’t know how to say it — words always fail me when it matters most. I’ve tried so many times, but each time, the words slip away like sand between my fingers. So this time, I’m writing it down. Maybe that’s all I can do. Maybe it’s enough to be honest.
You’ve become the quiet in my chaos. The calm in my storm. You’re the one I think about when I’m too tired to think about anything else. The one I reach for when I feel like I’m losing myself. But I never said it. And I should have. I should have said it, Leila. I should have been better at telling you that you matter, that you're my rock, more than just okay.
Maybe it’s too late now. But please know, it’s never been anyone else but you.
I’m sorry for not being brave enough before. But I’m here now. I’m ready to fight for this, if you are.
Aurelien."
She gasps as she finishes reading. His words, they hit different than before. She’s used to his confidence, his charm, his ability to make everything feel effortless. But this? This is him. Vulnerable. Honest. The rawness of it leaves her heart aching in places she didn't even know were sore.
It’s a love letter in its truest sense — one that doesn’t gloss over the mistakes, but lays them bare. The kind that you don’t often hear. And for the first time, she feels it. He’s finally saying the things he should have said long ago.
But is it too late?
The question sits heavy on her chest, and she hates that she even has to ask. She wants to be angry. She wants to throw his words back at him and walk away. But she can’t. She doesn’t know if it’s because she’s been holding on to him, or because she’s scared of what this newfound honesty means. All she knows is that his words have shattered the wall she’s been building around her heart.
Aurelien’s been her whole world for so long. Maybe she’s been waiting for him to catch up, to finally see her the way she’s always seen him. But she’s not sure she has the strength to wait any longer.
She closes her eyes for a moment, trying to clear her mind. The cool air in the bathroom doesn’t help. Neither does the soft knock on the door.
"Everything alright?" Wilo’s voice is low, gentle, and when she doesn’t answer immediately, he pushes it open just a fraction.
Her heart skips at the sight of him. He’s standing there. He doesn’t need words to understand what’s going on. He can see it in her face, in the way her hands are trembling slightly as she holds the phone.
"I’ll be fine," she says, her voice a little too sharp. It’s not his fault. None of this is his fault.
Wilo doesn’t press. He just steps into the room, sitting down on the edge of the bathtub, his gaze steady, like he’s giving her the space to breathe and figure it out for herself.
She stares at the phone again, knowing she can’t keep going back to the message. But it’s impossible to look away from it now. His words are etched in her mind, replaying over and over again. She thought she was over him. That she could move on, that the pieces would fall into place. Yet now?
She’s not sure.
Finally, she slides the phone back into her pocket, pressing a hand to her forehead.
"I don’t know what to do," she whispers, more to herself than to Wilo, but he hears her. He always does.
"You don’t have to decide right now," he says softly, but there’s a certain weight to his words. "You’re allowed to take your time, Leila."
Her chest tightens at the gentleness in his voice. He’s not pushing her. Not demanding answers. This isn’t about picking between him and Aurelien. It’s about what she wants, what she’s willing to fight for.
And the truth is, she’s tired. Tired of waiting, tired of not being seen, tired of trying to make things fit where they don’t.
But the letter… the letter is the first time he’s shown up for her, even if it’s a little too late. She doesn’t know if it’s enough to make up for everything, but it’s a start.
Leila takes a deep breath meeting Wilo’s gaze for the first time, really looking at him. He’s patient, understanding. And in his eyes, she doesn’t see the same questions that have been haunting her.
"Thank you," she says quietly. "For being here."
Wilo doesn’t say anything. He doesn’t need to. Instead, he pulls her gently back into his arms, and for a moment, she lets herself feel the warmth of his presence, the steadiness of him.
But in the back of her mind, Aurelien’s words linger.
It’s never been anyone else but you.
Is it too late to believe him?

Tumblr media
in which you (or your friend, rather) called, so luke came.
warnings; mention of car accidents, hospitals, losing a parent, ex-relationships, alcohol poisoning
this series was started before the awful tragedy involving johnny and matthew gaudreau. please do not read if you do not feel comfortable. as always, i am always here for you guys to reach out to if you need to talk!
part one here
part two here
part three here
You stood in the sterile hospital hallway, your arms wrapped tightly around yourself as you tried to breathe through the rising panic. The smell of disinfectant clung to the air, a scent that instantly transported you back to a year ago—back to the night you lost your dad.
You hated hospitals. Every part of you wanted to run, to get out of there before the walls closed in on you. But Y/B/F/N had had too much to drink, winding up in the emergency room with alcohol poisoning, and you knew you couldn’t leave. Not when your friend needed you the most.
You swallowed hard, shifting on your feet, forcing air into your lungs even as your ribs tightened with the pressure of memory, a ghost of that night a year ago swirling around you. The beeping machines. The frantic doctors. The way time had slowed as you watched the life drain from the man who had raised you. The way Luke had held you when the news finally shattered you.
Your best friend was fine, though. She had just drunk too much, reckless and carefree the way she always was, but she would be okay. She would walk out of this place alive.
Your dad didn’t.
Y/B/F/N knew that, quietly observing as you paced the floor of the hallway outside of her room. So, when you were out of view, she quickly pulled out her phone and dialed the one person she knew you needed.
Luke groaned as his phone vibrated against his nightstand, the obnoxious buzzing cutting through the silence of his dimly lit room. He barely glanced at the screen before swiping to answer, recognizing the name immediately.
"Hello?" His voice was rough with exhaustion.
"You need to get down here. Now."
Luke sat up instantly, his heart pounding at the urgency in your best friend’s voice. "What? Where are you?"
"The hospital," she rushed out. "I—it's not me, it's her.”
Everything inside him went still. Your name was on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it. "What happened?" His voice was sharp now, all traces of sleep gone.
"I'm fine," she assured him quickly. "I just…”There was a pause, like she was trying to find the right words, "I drank too much. Alcohol poisoning or whatever. I’m okay, but she’s here, and Luke, she’s…she’s freaking out."
Luke’s throat tightened.
Of course you were.
Hospitals had never been easy for you, not after what happened. He could still remember the way you’d collapsed into his arms the night your dad died, the way you’d trembled against him as if your body couldn’t contain the grief. And now you were back in that same place, reliving it all over again.
And he wasn’t there.
His grip on the phone tightened. "Where is she?"
"Down the hall from my room. She won’t come in here, won’t sit down, won’t—won’t do anything except stand there, looking like she’s about to pass out. She won’t leave, either. I know she’s trying to be here for me, but she’s barely holding it together."
Luke was already on his feet, pulling on a plain black hoodie with one hand while shoving his sneakers on with the other. "Did she ask for me?"
Your best friend went silent on the other end.
"No."
His stomach dropped.
"I didn’t think she would," your best friend added softly, "But that’s why I’m calling. She’s not going to ask for you, Luke. But she needs you."
He exhaled shakily, running a hand down his face. He knew that. Hell, he knew it better than anyone. But things were different now. He wasn’t your person anymore. He had no right to show up like he still was.
And yet, there was no hesitation when he said, "I’m on my way."
Luke was out the door before he could think twice.
His keys jingled in his grip as he yanked on his coat, barely bothering to shove his arms through the sleeves as he rushed down the apartment stairs. His mind was moving too fast, spinning with one thought and one thought only—you.
You were at the hospital.
You were panicking.
And you were alone.
The second he hit the parking garage, he unlocked his car and yanked the door open, throwing himself inside before jamming the key into the ignition. The engine rumbled to life, but the momentary delay as it turned over made his chest tighten with frustration. He didn’t have time for this.
He needed to be there now.
As he finally hit the road, the streets blurred past him in a mess of headlights and dark pavement, but he barely registered any of it. His hands were tight on the wheel, knuckles white, his foot pressing just a little harder on the gas than it should’ve been. He wasn’t reckless - he never had been - but right now, he couldn’t bring himself to care about speed limits or stoplights that took too long to change.
His mind wasn’t here. It was back at that hospital, with you.
Luke’s grip tightened, jaw clenching as he exhaled sharply through his nose. He wasn’t supposed to be the one you called anymore. That’s what he’d told himself a year ago when you’d finally ended things, both of you breaking under the weight of grief and unsaid words. It had been messy. It had been painful. But it had been final.
Or so he thought. You had told him just a few months ago that you both needed to move on.
But now, here he was, flying down the highway in the middle of the night like no time had passed at all, like he hadn’t spent the last year pretending he didn’t miss you.
Because he did.
And the fact that your best friend called him - not your other friends, not someone else, but him - told him everything he needed to know.
You still needed him.
Maybe not in the way you used to, maybe not in the way he wanted you to, but in this moment? Right now?
He was still the person you fell apart with.
And if that was all he got, if this was the only way he could still be something to you, then he’d take it.
Luke took the exit for the hospital, his heart hammering as the familiar structure came into view. The last time he’d been here, he had held you in his arms as your world collapsed. And if you needed him to do it again tonight, he would, without a second thought. Without any hesitation at all.
Because no matter how much time passed, how much distance you put between each other, to Luke, it was still you. It would always be you.
When he pulled into the parking lot, Luke moved fast - too fast. His chest burned from sprinting through along the pavement, his pulse hammering harder than it should have been, but he didn’t care. He pushed through the heavy glass doors, barely registering the sterile hospital air that hit him. He knew this place too well, knew what it had taken from you, knew what it meant that you were here.
And then he saw you.
You were curled into yourself on one of the plastic waiting room chairs, arms wrapped around your middle like you were trying to hold yourself together. Seeing Y/B/F/N’s door after continually pacing the hallway must have been too much for you. Your legs bounced restlessly, your gaze fixed on the scuffed tile floor, lost somewhere far away from here.
Luke swallowed hard, the ache in his chest deepening. You looked so small. So fragile in a way you never let yourself be.
And the worst part? You were alone.
Luke didn’t think. He never did when it came to you, “Hey.”
His voice was soft, careful—like he was afraid you might shatter if he spoke too loud. But the second it hit your ears, your entire body stiffened. Your head snapped up, your wide, red-rimmed eyes locking onto his. For a moment, you just stared, like you weren’t sure if he was real. Then, “What are you doing here?”
Luke ran a hand through his messy hair, still catching his breath. “She called me.”
You blinked, confusion flickering across your face before realization dawned. “Of course she did,” you muttered, shaking your head with something caught between frustration and exhaustion, “I told her I was fine.”
Luke desperately furrowed a brow, his hazel eyes flashing with the type of concern he only ever showed for you, “You’re not fine.”
Your jaw tightened, “I can handle it.”
He sighed, speaking again, “You shouldn’t have to.”
Something in your expression wavered then, like a hairline fracture forming in a carefully built wall. You opened your mouth - probably to argue, because that’s what you did when you didn’t want anyone to worry about you - but no words came. Instead, you exhaled shakily and turned away, blinking rapidly.
Luke felt the sting in his own chest at the sight. Slowly, he stepped closer, giving you space to pull away if you wanted to.
You didn’t.
So he did the only thing he knew how to do - he sat beside you. Close enough for you to feel his presence, but not close enough to push you.
“She’s okay,” he murmured after a moment, “The doctors are keeping an eye on her, but she’ll be fine. I promise you.”
You nodded absently, like that wasn’t what was keeping you here. Luke watched you carefully, searching for the right thing to say. The right way to pull you out of whatever dark place your mind was taking you.
But he already knew.
“It’s not the same, you know.”
Your head turned slightly, just enough for him to see the way your brows pinched together.
Luke swallowed, his hazel eyes peering into your Y/E/C ones, “This night. This hospital. It’s not the same as last time.”
Your breath hitched.
“You’re not losing anyone tonight,” his voice was quiet, steady, meant only for you, “She’s going to walk out of here, and you are too. And I’m-” he hesitated, flames of the type of love he reserved for you and only you dancing in his tone, “I’ll be right here.”
Your eyes met his again, something breaking in your gaze, something raw and vulnerable and so painfully familiar. Luke didn’t move, didn’t breathe, didn’t dare to hope that maybe, just maybe, you still needed him the way he still needed you.
Then, finally, after what felt like an eternity, you did the one thing he never expected. You leaned into him.
Not much, just a small shift, but it was enough. Enough for Luke to take a quiet, steadying breath before tilting his body ever so slightly toward you, just like he used to. Just like he always would.
The silence between you and Luke stretched, thick with unspoken words and everything you’d both avoided for the past year.
He was still close - close enough that you could feel the warmth radiating from him, close enough that if you leaned just a little further, you’d be in his arms the way you had been that night. The night your world fell apart.
Your fingers curled into the fabric of his black hoodie as you stared at your lap, trying to block out the memories clawing their way back to the surface. Even the color of his clothing reminded you of the sky that night, the darkness enveloping you in more ways than one.
Luke didn’t push. He never did. But he was watching you - he always watched you, like he could see straight through you, past every wall, every carefully constructed defense. And then he spoke, his words carefully chosen as to not upset you further, “You looked just like your father as the news was delivered.”
Your breath caught in your throat. You turned to him sharply, your heart pounding, “What?”
Luke’s gaze was unreadable, his lips pressed together like he wasn’t sure if he should’ve said it. But it was already out there now, hanging in the air between you, “You looked just like him,” he repeated, quieter this time, like he was recalling the exact moment with excruciating clarity, “The way your face fell. The way your brow furrowed and the way you slightly smiled as if the doctor was joking. The way you didn’t move at first, like you hadn’t fully processed what they were saying.”
He exhaled shakily, his hazel eyes filled with something too heavy to name, “And then you did. And it wrecked you.”
A lump formed in your throat. “You saw that?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
Luke’s lips twitched with something sad, “Of course I did, Y/N/N. I saw everything.”
Luke half-expected you to flinch when he used that nickname. After all, when you stood outside his apartment door at 2:00 in the morning, your tone was venomous as you told him not to call you that. Tonight, it didn’t happen. Instead, you blinked rapidly, trying to keep the burning in your eyes at bay, “I don’t even remember what I looked like. I just remember… the feeling.”
The words barely made it past your lips, but Luke heard them. He always did. He didn’t say anything, didn’t push for you to elaborate, but maybe that’s why you kept going.
“It was like everything in me shattered at once. Like I wasn’t even in my body anymore. I kept thinking…” you inhaled sharply, “no, this isn’t real. This isn’t happening. But it was. It was, and I couldn’t stop it. I couldn’t bring him back.”
Luke’s jaw clenched. He shifted then, his arm moving as if he was going to reach for you but stopping himself at the last second.
You let out a shaky breath, “I don’t know how long I stood there. But then I felt you.”
Luke’s eyes snapped to yours.
“You held me before I even knew I needed it,” you whispered, your fingers tightening into your sleeves, “Before I even realized I was falling.”
Luke swallowed hard, his throat tightening. He could’ve cried right then and there, but he held it together for you, “I couldn’t let you break alone.”
You shut your eyes for a moment, trying to keep yourself together. But there was something about being here, in this hospital, with him, that made all the cracks in you feel too wide to ignore.
You turned slightly toward him, studying his face in the dim hospital lighting. He looked different than he had back then - tired, older in a way that had nothing to do with age - but at the same time, he still looked like Luke. The boy who had been yours for so long. The boy who had held you together even after you’d broken apart.
“I don’t know how to be in hospitals anymore,” you admitted, barely above a whisper.
Luke hesitated, then murmured, “You don’t have to know how.” He finally let himself reach for your hand, his fingers brushing over yours in a cautious, familiar touch, “You just have to let yourself be in them.”
You stared down at where your hands nearly met, your chest tightening, “And what if I can’t?”
His fingers curled around yours, warm and steady. “Then I’ll be here.”
Your throat closed up. You should’ve pulled away. You should’ve reminded yourself that he wasn’t yours anymore, that you weren’t his to hold like this. But you didn’t. Instead, you let your hand slip fully into his, gripping onto him like an anchor. The moment your fingers laced together, something inside you cracked wide open.
Luke’s hand was warm, steady - the same way it had always been. His thumb brushed against your knuckles, a soft, barely-there touch, but it sent a shiver down your spine nonetheless. You wondered if it was instinct for him, if he even realized he was doing it, or if his body just remembered the way it used to fit against yours.
You gripped him tighter, your breath shaky, your free hand curling into your lap as if bracing yourself for something. Maybe for him to let go. Maybe for yourself to.
But neither of you did.
Luke stayed silent, watching you carefully, waiting to see if you’d push him away. You didn’t. Because for the first time in a long time, it didn’t feel like you were drowning.
It didn’t feel like the walls were closing in, or like the weight in your chest was pressing you deeper into the past. Instead, with his hand wrapped around yours, fingers locking like a lifeline, it felt like a revival of some sort.
You let out a slow, unsteady exhale, your gaze flickering to where your hands were tangled together. It was stupid, really, how something so small could make you feel like you weren’t completely falling apart. But it wasn’t just something. It was him.
That terrified you. You knew, deep down, that if you let yourself lean into him now, if you let yourself take whatever comfort he was willing to give, you’d never want to let go.
And the worst part?
You weren’t sure he would either.

(You scared me) RHEA RIPLEY X JEY USO
Chapter 25
_________________________________________________
Rhea was sitting in the passenger seat of the rental car. Damian got they were on their way to the Intuit Dome.
The music from her playlist blasting over the radio as she stared out the window
She felt nervous about what the day would bring.
This was her last shot at her title; if she lost this, then it was over. It was Liv’s, and she would have to move on and accept it.
She turned to Damian. You think I can do it?
He turned down the music, looking over at her. Yeah, you're going to win.
And if I don’t?
And if you don’t, then you find something else, something better. There’s a whole new title to go after; there’s Tiffy the Rumble. Besides, you never needed a title to be the best; you just are the best. Rhea
She grabbed his arm, laying her head against it. Thank you.
No problem. For the record, you're going to win.
She sighed. It’s going to be a long day.
Yeah, it is, but I don't have anything to do, so if you need me—
I’ll come find you, she cut in.
Thank you, and please don’t just run off after your match with Jey.
I won’t. She chuckled, letting go of his arm. I don’t think there will be any running off tonight.
He looked at her with a confused expression. What happened? What did he do?
Nothing; he didn’t do anything! She said quickly. He’s just got a lot going on with Roman right now, so we’ll see what happens tonight.
She sank into her seat, resting her head against the window. She was a little worried about what might happen; this whole day could end horribly.
Not just could she lose her final shot at what was rightfully hers; she knew she took the first shot at Liv, but Liv took more than was fair, and now this was the end. What happens happens if she lost; it was over, and if she won, she was finally done with all of it.
Then on the other side she had to worry about Jey.
Not just in his match; she believed in him. He could handle Drew; she knew Drew pretty well from when he helped them out in war games.
She would bet good money on Drew letting his emotions get the best of him.
But then she could say the same for Jey; there was a lot on his mind right now.
She wasn’t sure when they would talk to Roman, but if that was anytime before his match, whatever Roman says will affect him in the ring.
She kept making up different scenarios in her head of how this whole thing might go.
She knew some of the things Roman did, but she didn’t know the full extent of said things until she got with Jey, and he told her.
He never said it exactly, but just the way he spoke told her enough about what happened when he was in the bloodline.
This was eating at him, and she couldn’t help but feel a little responsible.
none of this would’ve happened if she didn’t make some big deal out of it If she didn’t pick a fight with him about him not fucking talking to her, then they wouldn’t be here. Jey wouldn’t be going through all of this right now.
She let out a sigh, her breath fogging up the window.
God, she shouldn’t blame herself; if she told him any of that, he would be even more upset that she ever thought, even for a minute, that it was her fault.
She heard the music stop, and all of a sudden, she picked her head up off the window.
The screen on the dashboard lit up with a text from Jey saying they made it to the arena.
He slid his phone back in his pocket as he pulled his suitcase out of the trunk before slamming it down.
He told Roman that they needed to talk sometime before he left.
He had gotten there a little early since he had to do something before the actual show along with the normal thing he always had to do.
This day wasn’t all bad, though he not only was going to beat Drew’s ass, he also got the opportunity to walk out with Travis Scott.
So if shit went bad with Roman, at least he had that to look forward to, and he means Rhea winning what was hers, of course.
He pushed through the back doors of the arena. Waving at the security guards standing out front as he passed
He was excited for Rhea; she had this one. There was no doubt in his mind she was going to walk out tonight empty-handed. He had no doubt in Roman winning either; he believed in Solo; he was going to give him a run for his money. for sure
But Roman was going to win, and he didn’t know if that was a good thing or not.
Solo may not have been the best, but he surely was as bad as Roman.
Everyone in Solo’s bloodline was there because they wanted to be, not because they were forced to be.
Roman has been drunk on power ever since he got it. Before he got it, he was now getting humble. He thought about all the time Roman got knocked on his ass while he walked down the long hallway.
Rhea was sitting with her eyes closed as she got her makeup done.
As the show got closer and closer, she could feel her nerves creeping up but also her adrenaline
If this really was the end, she was going to fight like hell to win. If Dom and Raquel felt the need to intervene, then she would take care of them to
Nothing or nobody was going to stop her from winning tonight.
Hey, babygirl, it’s good to finally see you. He sat down at one of the vanities along the wall.
She smiled. I wish I could see you.
You look beautiful, Mama.
And I’m not even done yet. Claire chimed in.
Don’t feed his crazy
It’s not crazy if it’s true; you're beautiful, right?
Oh yes, you look beautiful, and you will only get more beautiful from here.
She laughed at both of them. Do you need something, love?
I just wanted to see you. I've been busy; I had to work the red carpet. You know he popped his collar.
Oh! I know, and I don’t know if I appreciate you showing everybody what’s mine.
People see all that all the time; it ain’t new. Now all that other shit, yes, it’s yours.
As long as you know it, I would hate to have to show you, she said sultrily.
She smiled to herself when she heard him get quiet; she could feel Claire smiling back at her.
This wasn’t the worst thing she had overheard in these chairs; shit, this wasn’t the worst thing she had even seen in these chairs.
She heard him clear his throat as he stood up.
The devil is a lie, he said before walking by her.
She grabbed his hand. Hey, when do you need me? She said gently.
Um, after you get done here, if that’s cool?
Yeah, of course, I’ll come find you. She brought his hand up, placing a kiss on it.
See you in a bit, Mama, he said, walking away.
I think I like him more than Dom. He’s much better to look at, that’s for sure.
She laughed, Ooh, by a long shot.
Ok, now stay still so I can finish.
It didn’t take long for Claire to finish her makeup. A purple look with a black lip, as always. She already had on her gear, so she just needed to get her hair done, but she would do that after everything with Jey.
She met him outside the man’s locker before walking to Roman’s
She checked with him one last time if he wanted her there before they made it; he told her he wanted her there before knocking on the door. Heyman answered the door and let them in.
As soon as they walked in, the air was thick with tension. Roman was sitting back in his chair, manspreading, rubbing his wrist in his hand.
He had on his ring gear along with his gloves.
She had seen him before, but in this light he was even more intimidating than he was in the ring.
They sat down on the couch, his hand letting go of hers as he clasped his together.
Heyman sat down on the couch on the side closest to Roman.
She had forgotten how loyal he was to him; he found it a little weird then, and she still found it weird now.
So what do you want? Roman seemed already tired of this conversation.
Why lie if you already know about us, uce?
Because you wanted to tell me, so I let you.
He sucked his teeth. You let me?
Yeah, you made a big deal about telling me, so I let you
You could have told me after I told you.
Maybe I was, but you ran away.
He scoffed, I ran away? I walked away because you were being an asshole, uce.
He scowled. Jay I told you I don’t care about all this he gestured between him and Rhea. I was just looking out for you.
Looking out for what? You haven't been here. What were you going to do, uce? You haven't even been here to handle your business, he said, annoyed.
Roman sat up in his chair, leaning forward, his arms hanging off his knees.
See, Jey, you always get caught up in your emotions.
He scoffed, Here we fucking go, he muffled under his breath.
This isn’t about you and her; it’s about business.
What fucking business!? I don’t work with your ass anymore; you don’t get to decide what I do! I’m a grown ass man; I can do whatever I want!
You don’t act like one, Roman said weirdly calm. You don’t get it, do you, Jey? Everything I do is to take care of you.
Bullshit!
He ran a hand over his chin, letting out a frustrated sigh. You can think whatever you want, but that's the truth: the Wiseman only looked into the her for you.
I didn’t ask your ass to do that shit, uce!
Roman looked him dead in his eyes because that's what family does, Jey; they try to help each other even when they don’t want it.
He ran his hand over his face. There you go with your bullshit again, Uce, he said as he stood up.
Roman stood up to meet him; he didn’t say anything, just looked at him, and that’s all it took before he started to avoid his gaze, finding anything else to look at.
I was just looking out for you, Jey. I just wanted to make sure you were happy, but all you want to do is fight. I’m fighting for this family. In 20 minutes, we both agreed that Solo can’t do that yet.
He’s not ready, he said softly, but maybe one day you’ll be ready. But if you keep acting like a goddamn child and picking fights, you won’t be, so get it together! He didn’t yell or raise his voice; he kept his voice soft and calm, but the bass in it hit him in his chest.
I don’t want to see you until you beat Drew, and if you lose, I don’t want to see you at all.
He shoved him back, his heels hitting the front of the couch.
He didn’t respond, just nodded before storming out the door, hitting the wall behind it.
Rhea stood up to walk out after him, but Roman stopped her, putting his arm across the doorway.
She looked up at him in his eyes. Move She said confidently, which seemed to catch him a bit off guard.
He eyed her down before moving his arm out of her way.
She walked out mumbling under her breath, as she did so, she walked down the hallway looking for Jey. She found him sitting on a crate with his head in his hands.
Baby, she put her hand on his back. She was about to ask if he was okay, but she already knew the answer to that question.
Baby, it’s fine.
He let out a breath through his hands. No, it’s not. I let him get to me, and now
Don’t worry about that, my love; just focus on Drew. That’s all you have to worry about tonight.
She bent down in front of him, putting her hand on his knee. Okay?
He’s moved his hands away from his face, looking down at her. I just need a minute, Mama.
Okay, I have to go get ready for my match. It’s after his, so I’ll probably see you after yours.
Okay, he kissed the top of her head before she stood up, walking away.
He let out a deep breath, falling back against the wall.
He couldn’t believe he let Roman get to him like that; it brought him right back to all the times before when he had put him in his place.
But now he was on the same level as him. Shit, he let him walk out last at war games.
But he so quickly brought him down back to the level he thought he belonged at.
It was funny, actually, that he thought they could have a normal conversation.
He was so damn confused why he was making such a big deal out of this for no fucking reason.
It’s not like he told him to sit down and have a talk with her, but he wanted to bring her around without it being weird, but maybe he was asking for too much.
He cleared his throat, hopping off the crate. He needed to get started getting ready for his match, and sitting around thinking about Roman wasn’t going to do that.

Rhea ran to go find Damian; she finally got her baby back, and she was over the moon.
It didn’t take long for her to find Damian; he was coming to find her as well.
She jumped up into his arms, her title hitting against his back.
So many emotions were running through her right now: happiness, sadness, just a mix of emotions.
I knew you could do it, he said, wrapping his arms around her to hold her up.
She could feel tears welling up in the corner of her eyes, tears of happiness.
She couldn’t believe it that she was finally champion again, that the title was hers; she wasn’t just holding it because Liv dropped it.
It was hers, actually hers; it was in its rightful place, and it was never gonna leave her again.
She hopped down, feeling off balance; her legs felt like they were going to buckle at any moment.
Damian grabbed her by her shoulders. You good?
Yeah, I think I’m just in shock, she said with a nervous giggle.
Ok, here, sit down. They moved to the side of the wall. She slid down the wall, sitting on the floor.
He sat down next to her, putting his hand on her knee.
You see me out there? You see my new friend?
She said teasing him
You are never going to not rub that in my face, huh?
Nope, because I meet the Undertaker, she said in a sing-songy voice.
I hate you, he said, shoving her away.
She playfully scoffed. No, you love me, and soon enough we’re both going to have gold again.
She stood up off the ground. But for now you can hold mine if you want to fill the void.
I hope they lose your nameplates. He said, standing off the ground.
Oh wow, and I was going to let you do an interview with me, but
Oh come on, we’re going to be late, or do you want to go see Jey first?
No, he’s already set for his entrance. I’ll see him after his match.
Alright then, come on.
Jey walked through the curtains out of gorilla
He beat Drew; all that was behind him now.
He handled it just like he was supposed to.
He walked through the halls looking for where Rhea was.
He thought about going to see Roman, but that thought left his mind as fast as it came.
He found her with Damian, standing in front of a TV; she was bouncing off the walls.
Jumping up and down as the replay played on the screen
He sneaked up behind her, grabbing her waist, feeling the cold metal of her title under his hands.
She giggled, Hi, baby.
Hey, babygirl, you like my match? He asked with a smirk.
No! She hit him in his arm. You scared me half to death!
Okay, okay! I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to scare you, Mama. I’m good, alright?
Ok, just don’t do it again.
I won’t. He turned his attention to Damian. Sup, Uce? How you been? He said dapping him up
Good, just keeping an eye on this one, he ruffled her hair.
She pushed his hand off of her head. I don’t need you to keep an eye on me.
Alright, you did good out there, man.
Thanks, Uce, finally starting to put all this shit behind me.
I'm going to put this whole thing with Finn to rest next week.
Look at that; we're all moving on to better things. Rhea chimed in, Who would have thought, huh? She smiled.
Speaking on moving on, he said, Looking at Damian, give us a minute, Uce.
Yeah, see you guys in a bit, and please remember you both are on the press show, he yelled as he walked away, making her laugh.
Yeah, yeah, he said, waving him off.
He turned his attention back to her. You look good with that title, babygirl.
It should. That’s where it belongs, love.
I like my woman with gold. He said, his hands wrapping around her waist.
Mmm, we still have work to do, baby.
So fuck the press conference.
I thought you were going to enter in the rumble tonight?
I can do that next week on Raw.
Or you can do it when you’re supposed to, or are you that needy baby?
He felt a shiver down his spine as her words left her mouth; she had a smirk on her face as she moved her hands to his waistband, pulling him closer. Do you need Mami that bad baby? Or can you wait like a good boy? She said with a pout.
He felt his pants becoming tighter as she slipped her fingertips into his waistband.
I’ll wait, he said, stumbling over his words.
She raised her eyebrow, waiting for him to finish his sentence.
He leaned closer to her, just inches above her ear. I can wait like a good boy.
His pants definitely felt tighter now he lifted his head up.
She had a pleased grin on her face. See, baby, you always make this so hard, she said with a giggle, sliding from under him and grabbing his hand.
Now let’s go find a place to watch the end of the show.
Damn you, you aren’t going to give me a second girl all that shit you just pulled.
You started it, baby, and I’ll finish it later, but for now we have shit to do, so come on, she said, pulling him down the hall to where Damian went.
Fine, fine, but can we stop by the locker room right quick, though?
Sure, whatever, baby.
Jey slid the keycard into the lock, throwing the door open, not caring where their suitcases went.
as they stumbled into their hotel room, their lips crashing into each other
He closed the door with his foot; the light from the hallway disappeared, leaving them in the dark.
His hands grabbed at her waist, her title still around it; she pulled off his shirt, throwing it on the floor.
Her hands roamed his body, leaving a trail of heat wherever they went.
He pushed her up against the wall, beginning to take off her shirt; he tossed it on the floor before kissing and biting at her neck, pulling a moan out of her. She flipped him around, holding him against the wall.
They both took this opportunity to catch their breath, just the look of lust in their eyes.
Damn, babygirl, what you trying to do? he said in between his breaths
Mmm, I have a couple of things in mind. She said with a grin, moving her knee between his legs, pushing it against him.
Fuck Mami! his head hit the wall, his now aching cock trapped under her knee
You have been so needy lately, and I don’t know why, baby. Her knee pressing harder against his cock
Shit, he said breathlessly, slightly bucking his hips.
God, baby, people would think I have touched you in weeks with the way you're acting.
Mami I didn’t mean to—his words died in his mouth as he saw the look on her face.
I want you to take your pants off and go sit on the bed while I do something.
He said, "Okay, letting a whimper leave his lips as she took her knee away, turned around to get her suitcase, but realized they were still in the dark. And get the light too, love.
She heard a click before yellow light filled their hotel suite. She chuckled seeing their suitcases just thrown in front of the door.
She rolled them into the living area in front of the coffee table, laying hers on the floor and unzipping it as she heard his shoes hit the ground.
She slipped off her shoes, then took off her pants, leaving her in just her bra and panties, her title hanging low on her hips.
She walked around the room diviner seeing Jey lying on the bed with his hands under his head, watching TV in just his boxer briefs.
She leaned against the column of the diviner, her hands behind her back, eyeing his body as he lay there, her eyes tracing over him.
His skin shined under the yellow light from the lamp on the nightstand.
She could see a few faint marks on his chest that were later turned into bruises. If she didn’t know his body so well, they would go unnoticed due to all his tattoos covering his body.
She loved the way they looked; she followed them down the sides of his waist to the top of his underwear. There was a visual bulge in his boxers; they were high up on his thighs, showing off the rest of his tattoos. his legs hanging off the edge of the bed, his feet planted on the ground
His eyes finally flickered over to her, the air getting trapped in his throat.
She sauntered over to the bed, swinging her hips.
You turned on the TV?
Didn’t know how long you were going to be
She crawled onto the bed.
Mmm, you look real good with that gold mama.
Thank you, she giggled, throwing her leg over his hip, straddling
Her fingers ran against his skin, giving him goosebumps as she leaned forward, kissing him.
Moving down his jawline and neck, leaving marks along them
Fuck, the cold metal pressed against his skin as she moved down his body; he winced as her hand touched his rib, subconsciously pulling away from her touch. Shit baby
Sorry, I didn’t mean to love you. Are you hurt? She sat up, her hands resting on her thighs.
No, I mean, yeah, but I’m not injured or shit.
But you are hurting? She said, eyeing the marks on his chest.
Yeah, just that spot, though these are just marks he gestured at himself.
So you’re ok? She said with a worried look.
He grabbed her hand, pulling her back over him, just inches away from his face. I’m okay, Mama. Do you still want to do this?
Yeah, I just didn’t want to hurt you.
You won’t Rhea. He said, hooking his finger under her chin, pulling her into a deep kiss, pushing her tongue into his mouth, making him groan into her mouth.
She grinded down on him, feeling him through the layers of cotton between them; she could feel the warmth between her thighs growing with each groan and moan that left them.
He grabbed her hips, pulling her down against him. She reached her hands behind his head into his hair.
You want me to take it off? He said, breaking their kiss, his hands going up her back.
Go ahead, she said, kissing and marking his neck.
He unhooked her bra. His fingers grazed her hot skin as he pulled down her bra straps, throwing it to the side.
God baby, you're so beautiful. his hands cupped her breast, causing the air in her throat to get stuck
She gave in to his touch, his big hands kneading her breast, his rough palms brushing against her hard nipples.
Her moans vibrated against his collarbone, going straight to his dick as he played with her
He moved his hands down to her hips under the leather strap of her title, grabbing her ass.
She pushed back into them. Take them off, baby. Fuck Mami, he groaned as she brushed against his hard, trapped cock.
She giggled as she brushed up against him again. I love those little sounds you make, baby.
He slipped her panties down her thighs, throwing them on the floor.
The cold air hitting her dripping pussy, she held herself up with one hand, using the other to tug down his boxers, his cock popping out over the waistband, falling against his stomach.
Oh, but I’m needy, he grinned.
She smacked her teeth. Shut up; she raised her hips up, lining him up with her, his tip rubbing against her cunt.
He threw his head back, feeling her warmth drawing him in, but she just held him there.
Mmm, Mami he said, coming out like a whine
Tell me what you want, baby.
Fuck I want you please right there, Mami, please, please, please.
She slowly sat down, throwing her head back at the feeling of herself stretching around him.
Shit, baby, you're so fucking tight.
She took all of his length inside her; she always forgot how big he was until she had to take him, feeling him deep in her gut.
She put her hands on his chest as she began to move her hips, both of them moaning at the new sensation.
Fuck Mami! He grabbed her thighs, his nails digging into her skin.
She leaned forward, her hands next to his head.
God, baby, you fill Mami up so well, you feel so good; she felt his cock twitch at her praise.
You're such a little praise slut, baby, she said with a grin. You would do anything I asked if I told you you were a good boy, wouldn’t you?
His nails dug into her skin deeper; his face contoured, his mouth fell open, but no words fell from it, just broken babbles.
God baby, I wish you could see yourself; you look amazing like this.
Every word that left her mouth was fuel to the fire; he couldn’t even think of the sound of skin slapping skin filling the room as she moved her hips up and down.
He moved his hands up her waist, grabbing onto her title, his thumbs sliding under her title, touching her burning skin, his fingertips brushing against something.
Holy shit, baby! He shouted with one hand on her stomach and the other on her title.
She giggled, pushing her hair out of her face. I told you you were a big baby; she arched her back down. So big you almost split me in half the first time she whispered in his ear.
Fuck Mami, please, he moaned.
What love? She nipping at his ear
He sighed, Mami, come on.
Oh baby, if you can be needy, you can beg, so let me hear that beautiful needy voice of yours.
He threw his head back. Fuck Mami, please, just please
You can do better, love. Come on.
He groaned. Please, please let me cum. Mami, I’ll be good, so, so good, please. He gripped her hips tighter.
She felt the warmth in her stomach growing, her movements growing faster. Keep going, baby.
Please, please, I’ll listen. I’ll... I’ll fuck! Just please, Mami, I can’t. It’s shit! His words turned into a moan as she squeezed around him, her body shuddering as her orgasm rips through her. His following a second after
She fell down onto her elbows trying to catch her breath.
He brought his hand up onto her hair, pushing it out of her face. You good? He said in between breaths
Yeah, just need a sec.
He unclipped her title, pulling it out from under her, letting it fall to the floor. Here is that better?
Yeah, thank you. She kissed his cheek before raising up off of him with a gasp, lying down next to him.
What the fuck are we watching? She laughed.
I don’t know; I haven't really been paying attention like that, babygirl, he chuckled, standing up. I’ll be right back.
Ok, will you get me some water?
Yeah, of course.
He walked into the bathroom, grabbing a towel, wiping himself off, and catching a look in the mirror.
His chest was covered in marks along with his neck. Damn, babygirl, you fucked me up!
He flicked off the light walking into the kitchen. He set the cup down on the TV stand before crawling back on the bed in front of her.
We should really start putting a towel down or something.
Yeah, we should, but will we?
Not a chance. He stood back off the bed, grabbing her cup. Here, babygirl
She sat up. Thank you.
You want to take a shower?
No, I will take a bath, though my body's still sore.
Ok, I’ll draw us one where he kissed her forehead before walking away.
They sat in the triangle-shaped tub, both at different points. bubbles covering them
Don’t think I have taken a hot bath in years. Jey said his arms were lying on the sides of the tub.
It’s nice, plus I’m in it, so it helps her smile, her foot popping out above the water.
That does help, so what are you going to do now?
I don’t know. I’ve been chasing Liv’s ass for so long I don’t really know what’s next. I guess whatever comes my way. What about you? Who are you going to from when you win the rumble?
Don’t know shit; I might not even win.
She playfully scoffed. She splashed him in the face.
Girl! He turned his head to the side.
You’re gonna win!
Okay, damn girl.
Jay I’m serious; you're going to win. Don’t doubt yourself.
It’s not doubt; it’s just I don’t know, maybe it’s doubt. He rubbed the back of his neck.
You're gonna win, baby. I would bet good money on that shit; I would put my title on the line for that.
Ok, don’t be crazy, Rhea. You just got that shit back; don’t risk it.
I’m not. I’m just saying if you act like you already lost, then you're going to lose.
I know, I know.
So say it, say you're gonna win.
Are you serious?
Dead, she said, straight-faced.
He chuckled, Really?
Come on, what you got? She nudged him with her foot.
I’m going to win the rumble. he said halfheartedly
Oh come on, you can do better; you just did a whole lot better. She said, her mouth curling into a grin.
I’m going to win the rumble, he said this time with more confidence but still not good enough.
Aw, it’s cute that you call that conviction, and you were a heel for years.
He grabbed her hand, pulling her closer. I’m gonna win the fucking rumble and beat both Cody and Gunther’s asses this time, saying it like he believed it this time.
See, I knew you had it in you.
He sucked his teeth. Girl, get on; he playfully pushed her back down.
She laughed settling back down against the edge of the tub Baby, can we talk about this morning?
He sighed, his body tensed up. I don’t wanna talk about that shit.
Jey, if I knew that would’ve happened, I wouldn’t have told you to talk to him; I would’ve dropped it immediately. She sat up, putting her hand over his.
It’s not your fault, babygirl; he’s just like that.
I know just I wouldn’t have pushed you—
You didn’t push me to do shit, Rhea. He shifted, running his hand over his face. I wanted to talk to him; I just needed a little help to get there. I told you Roman was an asshole.
Jey, that’s not just him being an asshole; that’s-
I know what it is; his eyes flickered away from hers. I know what it’s called; he hung his head.
Then why take it? She moved forward, his knees in between her legs. Why put up with it?
Because he’s family, and if you don’t, it’s worse than what you saw—his voice cracking just a little, or you’re out of the family.
She grabbed his hand. My love
Seeing all that happened today showed her why Jey acted the way he did, why he would shut down, why he was so scared to lose her, and why he never wanted to talk to Roman or get involved with the bloodline again in the first place.
It was all trauma. Roman broke him and then put him back together the way he wanted.
My love It’s ok; I got you.
I know he put his hand over hers, gripping it tight.
I will never let Roman hurt you like that again, ok?
You can’t make promises like that, Rhea. he said, shaking his head
Yes, I can, because I mean it. She lifted his head up to look at her; there were tears welling up in the corners of his eyes. I will never let anything happen to you, my love.
He looked like he believed it, but the look behind his eyes looked like he didn’t want to trust it.
She brushed his hair out of his face. I love you, and I will always be here for you no matter what. You will never lose me. Do you understand me?
He nodded his head in response. Come here.
He said almost as a whisper, he moved his legs, making space for her.
She moved, sitting with her back against his chest, his arms wrapping around her, holding her close; she could feel his breath was a little shaky.
She knew his mind was racing; she rubbed his arm, her head falling against his shoulder.
I love you too.

Alright, new AU time!
This one is a lot different than most of my AU's, because this one takes place AFTER the events of EPIC
-------------------°•☆☀️☆•°--------------------
Antinous thought it was all over the minute that arrow hit the edge of his throat, his plan had been perfect. Yet whoever had shot him was obviously skilled... they wanted some form of control over the suitors. He just had to hope he would meet his friends in Asphodel.
At least, that's what he thought would happen.
He woke up with his body laying between bodies of sand and grass, vision blurry as he began to scan around for any sign of life
"Oh, you have got to be kidding me."
It was the voice of a woman.
In most situations, the voice would have felt rather soothing. But with the tone of the words that had escaped her mouth, and the current situation he found himself in, he needed pure focus in this situation.
He needed some kind of control.
The suitor jerked his body to sit up, forcing himself to stare in the direction of the voice when his vision finally began to clear.
Her skin tan and eyes almost golden. Her hair was brown fading into a dark blond as it was tied in a halo braid with soft curles to the side. Her outfit a deep, mute red with golden symbols of the sun tattooed on both the outfit and her skin.
Her face however screamed of disgust as she offered Antinous a hand up, to which he confusingly took.
What was even happening right now?
"Follow, suitor." She snarled beginning to walk to a terracotta Palace with markings of the sun and flowers all around. Antinous, though confused, forced himself to walk.
He needed to get answers somehow.
"In most cases," she began, her hair bouncing back as two tree Nymphs opened the door, alarmed expressions on their face as soon as they spotted Antinous. "You would be turned into a pig, especially after the horrible stunt you had pulled in Ithaca."
How did this random lady know anything about that? How long had he even been out for if rumor had spread so fast.
"But the Gods have ultimately decided that you need to stay alive, so I'll have to make sure your live is a living inferno in here."
She stared back at him, a mix of confusion and disgust on her face as she stopped walking. "Was your throat so horribly injured that you've lost the ability to speak?"
He'd barely even thought of what happened to his throat during that. When he pressed a hand onto his neck, he could feel the light brush of bandages on his throat.
"I-I apologize. I didn't-"
"Your name."
"Antinous." He muttered, forcing himself to stare up at the woman in front of him. She didn't feel normal, not at all. Something out of this world reeked from her.
Something Devine.
"I suppose I'm forced to tell you my name, it's Circe. Lady Circe to you. Are we clear?" She narrowed her eyes, awaiting the suitor to respond.
"I said, are we clear?"
"Yes, mam."
Circe called for a nymph, who quickly handed her an outfit. The nymph didn't even seem to glance at Antinous as she nervously left.
Circe tossed the clothes to him, barely even phased by how clumsily he managed to pick them up.
"Come now, you've got work to do."
"Work?"
"Yes." She nodded, rolling her eyes as if Antinous was meant to wake up with this information.
"You're the Servant of Circe, after all."

The Red Queen (Chapter 15/?)
Tumblr media
Series Masterlist
115 ac
Your Pov
Sit next to Aegon as Ali gets dressed for his second nameday celebration. She's wearing a pretty red dress, but I think she looks better in blue.
I look down at my dress, it's a pretty red with gold embroidery of dragons on my chest. But I wanted to wear my pink and silver dress but Papa said that would be impractical and we needed to show our house colors.
I look down at Aegon when he says my name, well at least something close.
“What Aegon?” I ask as he holds up his wooden dragon.
“Oh well thank you.” I say as he hands it to me before going to grab his other one. I look down at the dragon, these used to be mine before I gave them to Aegon. I remember Kepus and I playing with these together. But they're no longer mine so I must accept the bite marks along the tails and the chips on the spines.
“Roar!” Aegon yells shoving his wooden dragon in my face. It startles me to the point I gasp and fall back on my hands.
“Aegon darling, nice play remember?” Ali says from her seat in front of her vanity as her maids do her hair.
Aegon pouts before looking back at me. “Sowy.” He says moving forward to hug me.
“It’s alright, you just spooked me.” I say hugging him back before kissing his brow and letting him play again.
I stand before turning to Ali. She looks so beautiful, I hope I look as beautiful as her when I'm married. But I also notice how tired she is. How she seems like she hasn't rested in days, mayhaps moons. And I know why, it's the babe she winces each time it kicks or moves.
Just like Mama did with baby Baelon. I think before shaking the thoughts from my mind. There is no use for them, they only bring sadness to a happy day.
“Look at you, my darling girl.” Ali says from her plush brown armchair, her feet propped up by a small stool with feather pillows atop it. “You look lovely, though I know you wished to wear another dress and for that I am sorry.”
I shake my head as I walk over to her and rest my hand upon her round belly. I feel each movement, each kick, it seems almost like magic itself is inside Ali but I know it is the gods gift to women not magic.
“It isn't your fault, besides Papa has his reasons.” I respond with a tight smile.
Ever since Aegon was born Papa has been…irritable. At times I wonder if he is even cruel. He says such awful things at times, specifically to Ali. I don't understand why, nor do I want to. For if he can be that cruel outwardly what is his mind like?
I feel Ali rest her hand over mine tapping each of my fingers to get my attention once more.
“You have been lost in thought lately. Is your studies too difficult? Tiring perhaps? Your Father has put much stress upon you, I don't blame you for being tired.”
I feel my heart squeeze at her words. No one has noticed my tiredness, my lack of excitement. I know I need these lessons, that I need to learn how to rule. But at times I wonder if Papa remembers the girl who loved to fly, who loved to dance at feasts, who wanted to play and laugh. I at times find the answer to be he doesn't. Or more likely he doesn't care.
But instead of laying all my worries upon Ali I only shake my head with a joyful smile. “I'm fine, I need to learn how to rule so I can be a great Queen.”
It's there for only a second before she gives it. Pity. She knows I'm lying, knows I panic at times to the point I can hardly breathe. But she lets me have this, let's me have my fib, if only for now.
“Good.” She says before looking at Aegon and then the clock.
“I think it's time to go. Wouldn't want your twos Father wondering where we are.”
The walk down to the council room is long, but also feels like a blur. I feel the eyes of court on me, feel them assessing my posture which I know is straight after my new Septa, Septa Joy, made me stand and walk back and forth for hours each day until she deemed it perfect. The name Joy does not match that woman at all.
I know not why Papa made me switch Septas, why he separated me from Laena and Nymeria. Only that he deemed I needed a stricter woman to guide me than the sweet Septa Martha.
I know my dress has no wrinkles as I had to learn how to sit properly so as not to ruin a dress. I know my hair is perfectly braided around my head because Ali did it. I know I look the perfect Lady, the perfect Princess, the perfect heir.
But just as I know how I look I know how different I feel. I don't feel like me at times, I feel like a character in my books. Like I'm playing a part in a play like those fools and jesters Papa brings to feasts.
I don't feel like me anymore. Unless I'm with Laena and Nymeria or Ali. They know me, they care for me, they don't care if I seem proper, they want me to play and have fun. But Papa? No, he sees the perfect Heir who will rule after him, and though it hurts he now talks to me, listens to my words, nothing like before where we only spoke at dinner and even then it was sparse.
As we enter I hear them chant for Aegon, I can't help but smile. He is such a sweet boy and he deserves all this praise.
“Ah there's my boy!” Papa says before taking Aegon from Alis arms.
This Papa is so different to the one at dinner. He is joyful, laughing, but at dinner he is quiet, cold even. It's a bit jarring to see but I know better than to ask why he has changed his attitude.
“Ah! And my heir and Queen as well. What a lovely surprise.” Papa says almost jokingly but I see the look he gives us.
You should've been here sooner.
“Yes, terribly sorry for our untimeliness, I'm afraid the babe was lively this morrow.” Ali responds for us with a tight lipped smile.
“No need to apologize, you both look lovely by the way.” Papa says as he tries and makes Aegon laugh with silly faces.
I sigh looking down at my dress once more. It truly is pretty, just not beautiful like my pink one.
“May I say the young Prince looks just like you, Your Grace?” Some Lord says from beside Papa. I take this as my leave to find Laena and Nymeria.
I push past Lords and Ladies who grumble as I had taken their attention away from Aegon. But I don't care, this week I have the chance to finally play and be myself, not the perfect Princess with the kind smile even when a Lord or Lady is being rude.
I find Laena and Nymeria quite quickly, for they are both giggling next to a platter of cold meats and cheeses.
When I walk over Laena exclaimes my name before hugging me tightly. “I'm so excited! I heard there is a white heart in the forest.”
I think about the story of the white heart, how if a man killed it he was destined to be King. Of how it is a symbol of power but also of peace. And for some reason I hope it is not killed, for it is often called the King of the forest and if man needs rulers then so do animals.
“I wonder if it will get caught, perhaps I should have Daisy fly out and scout for it.” Nymeria says, taking a sip of her lemon water.
I frown at the thought of Nymeria's Ill tempered hawk. The bird only listens to her and claws and pecks at anyone else who walks past.
I would much rather Daisy stay here but if she truly wishes for the bird to come I will not deny her. I think before reaching for a piece of cold honeyed ham.
“Perhaps not, she is a beautiful bird but I think she needs to be trained on how to be nicer.” Laena says and I can't help but giggle at Nymeria's shocked face.
“Daisy is an amazing bird!” She demands but then frowns when she notices Laenas wrist where Daisy clawed at her for no reason besides walking by.
“She is an amazing bird, though just not as amazing with others.” I say with a shrug before taking a bite of a raspberry and honey cake.
Laena nods her head in agreement before we are interrupted by Nymeria's sister Myrielle.
“Sorry to interrupt but I need my sister for a moment.” She says before gliding by Nymeria groaning behind her.
Laena and I watch as they leave before looking at one another again and giggling at the fact Nymeria will probably be told her brown dress isn't suited for the festivities.
“I heard Myrielle is betrothed to the Queen's brother Lorenet.” Laena says with a smirk before pointing to the man in question.
I take him in, he looks like Ali. From the auburn hair to the pale freckled cheeks. Though his hair seems straight compared to her curls.
“He's handsome.” I say before turning to look back at Laena again.
Laena only hums before taking a sip of her lemon water assessing the Lord as if it were life or death. “But why him? She could be with someone with more power so why him?”
I frown at the question, for she's right, why him? He has no lands besides what his uncle gives him, no wealth of note. So why him and not another of more influence?
“Maybe she loves him? That's always a good reason to marry.” I say which seems to satisfy Laena’s curiosity for now.
We continue to gossip back and forth on what we've heard throughout the Keep. “And I heard that Lady Sofia Swann was caught indisposed with a stable boy.” Laena says just as Papa walks over to us.
I notice his look of distress mixed with anger and already know who has caused it. “Have you seen your sister? She was to be here almost an hour ago.”
I only shake my head watching as he moves about asking lords and ladies if they have seen my sister.
“Why would he ask you? Why would you know, she never was kind to you.” Laena says with a scowl towards Papa.
I shrug with a sigh. “Probably because he doesn't want to admit me and Rhaenyra’s distance. Or should I say a relationship that never even formed.” I say with an annoyed sigh.
I know Papa doesn't want to admit me and Rhaenyra don't get along, I've tried, I know I have. But no matter how hard I try she pushes me away, hurts me with cruel words or hands. At some point I just…stopped. I stopped caring if she loved me, I stopped caring if she looked my way, I just stopped caring.
“Seven hells, when is this hunt gonna begin!” Laena groans out as she watches as men guzzle wine and ladies sip tea. I can't help but giggle at her obvious disappointment in the activities of this small feast. There is only so much gossip girls can do before they've said it all.
“Let us hope it will be soon.” I say watching as Ali walks out of the council room for some reason.
I look to see who has Aegon to find Papa does. I frown at this, Papa doesn't spend much time with Aegon and yet he is telling stories left and right about him. It is odd that Papa has so many, or Papa is fibbing which is much more likely.
“He looks so much like the Queen don't you think?” Nymeria asks out of the blue. We both turn to find her in a new dress, this one a pretty pink with yellow lace along the hem. I have to fight the jealousy that rises in me at the sight.
“I think so, but Papa and the rest of the court says he looks like him. I think he had Papa's hair, and his Violet eyes are similar to Papa’s. But other than that he looks like Ali.” I say to which Laena and Nymeria nod in agreement.
“So what do you think the Quee–” Laena starts before Papa announces  it is time to depart to the Kings woods.
“Well I hope you all have a wonderful ride up there. Let us pray my carriage won't be too tension-filled.” I say before a giggle erupts from me as Nymeria and Laena pretend to pray as they walk towards their carriages.
I turn to mine to find little Aegon on his nursemaids lap, Papa smiling at him, Ali avoiding Rhaenyra’s stare, and Rhaenyra glaring daggers at Alis belly.
Seems Laena and Nymeria's prayers didn't work. I think before climbing into the carriage for a long ride.
Special thanks to my bestie @sugutoad for making the header for this fic! I swear I'd be lost without you girly!

The Science of it All
High school Luke Hughes and OC
Tumblr media
Summary: Divya (the oc) has to help Luke catch up with assignments that he missed from his AP Environmental Science class.
Warnings: cursing
Author’s Note: This is loosely inspired by me and my experiences in APES and it’s one of my favorite classes. If you’re American, in high school, and your school offers it, take it. I’m trying to get this to be a series if I can. But I tried to make this like normal but also enjoyable. So enjoy!!
Chapter 1:
Divya’s POV
“Morning Miss. Renaldi.” I greet as I walk into her room. I walk over to my desk, looking at the board to see the agenda for the day.
Finish Tragedy of the Commons Notes
Start Impacts of Overfishing Notes
MAYBE: Start Fishing Silent Debate.
It doesn’t look so bad and I love a notes day in APES. They’re therapeutic and I love this class.
I sit down and I’m greeted by Eesha, a family friend and her friend Sasha. Eesha’s family owns a few restaurants and my dad is close with her dad. We’re not that close but we’re nice.
I take my phone out and I send a few snaps on Snapchat and go through my friend’s stories before opening instagram and going through my feed.
About 2 minutes go by and some boy sits right next to me. He’s kinda cute, tall with light brown curly hair that reaches the nape of his neck.
I wonder if he’s a new kid or transferred to this class because I’ve never seen him before.
The bell rings and Miss. Renaldi, like clockwork, walks into the room and stands behind her computer that’s on the massive lab table in the front of the room, putting in attendance. After finishing that, she fixes the HDMI cord that’s connected to her laptop.
“Good morning guys! How are we?” She asks and gets the same answesr: a few grumbles and a few goods, with Andrew Paulichi yelling amazing.
It’s funny because apart from me and Jacob Anatoli, we’re the only juniors taking the class, I think?
I don’t know about Mystery Boy sitting next to me.
“We’re gonna finish up our tragedy of the commons notes and start our impacts of overfishing notes and if we have time, we’re gonna go a fishing silent debate. If we don’t get to it, we will do that next class. Just a reminder that quiz corrections are due Friday morning and that Tragedy of the Commons edpuzzle is due tomorrow.” Renaldi says and pulls up the slideshow with the notes and people pulling out their notebooks and pens, some taking their chromebooks out.
I take my binder and pencil case out when I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn to look at Mystery Boy and try not to get lost in his muted blue eyes.
“This is gonna sound stupid but can I borrow a sheet of paper and a pen or a pencil?” He asks.
I try not to let my face show an expression of judgement before I opened my binder and give him two sheets of loose leaf paper and a mechanical pencil from Walmart.
“Thanks.” He says. I turn back to my unfinished Tragedy of the Commons notes, listening to Renaldi go on about how to stop a Commons problem when Mystery Boy taps my shoulder again.
“Oh my god what?” I whisper.
“Sorry for uh, disturbing you, but can I take a picture of your notes?” He asks.
I roll my eyes before showing him my binder. He takes his phone out and I catch a glimpse of his lock screen. It’s a picture of him and what looks like his two brothers. They look oddly recognizable but I can’t put my finger on them.
He unlocks his phone and opens his camera app, quickly snapping pictures of my notes.
“Anything else?” I whisper.
“Nothing, thank you.” He whispers back before giving me my binder.
The period goes by slowly and the bell rings and everyone begins to pack up.
“Just a reminder that your quiz corrections are due Friday and your TOC edpuzzle is due tomorrow!” She yells over the commotion of students saying their byes and have a good days.
“Have a good day Miss. Renaldi.” I say but she stops me.
“Oh Divya, I need to talk to you.” She says. “And you’re not in trouble.”
“Oh, okay.” I tentatively say. I walk back inside and I see Mystery Boy also in the room, standing at the front of the room. She closes the door and shuts her computer.
“Divya,” she points to Mystery Boy, “This is Luke.”
Oh so that’s what his name is and god damn he’s tall!
“Hey.” I say awkwardly.
“And Luke,” she points at me, “This is Divya.”
“Hey.” He also says awkwardly.
“Luke is supposed to be in this class.” Miss. Renaldi explains. “However, because of his, situation for the past few months, he hasn’t been here. And after some consideration, I’ve decided that you should help him catch up.”
“But I’m busy with school and extracurriculars and stuff.” I protest. “I am flattered but like I can’t.”
“Divya I know you can.” She says. “You consistently do well in this class, you know the material like the back of your hand. I’ll give you extra credit for doing this. And he’s also a junior like you too.”
So he is a junior.
I think about it for a moment. “Fine.” I relent. “I’ll do it, but not because I know Luke.”
He gives me a boyish grin and Renaldi beams.
“I knew I could count on you.” She says.
I give her an awkward smile before grabbing my bag and walking out.
“Yeah so then that’s what fucking happened.” I explained with a mouthful of chola batura in my mouth in the choir room during lunch.
“Wait wait wait, so you know have to tutor some kid who’s in your APES class who has been awol for months.” Bella, one of my friends, asks.
“Yeah and now I feel like a dumbass because there’s no way I’m juggling this with like winter guard and my arangetram practice.” I say, furiously biting into my chola batura wrap.
“Okay, do you know his name?” Claire, another one of my friends ask as she takes her phone out and open instagram.
“Uh, his name is Luke.” I reply.
She immediately searches him up and after about 5 minutes, Claire cleared her throat before showing her his instagram profile.
“Okay so his full name is Luke Hughes. He’s 16 years old, youngest of three. He had two older brothers named Quinn and Jack. Quinn’s a defenseman for the Vancouver Canucks while jack’s a center for the New Jersey devils.”
“How did you-“
“It wasn’t that fucking hard. I basically found a post where each of the brothers were tagged in and it took me to their profiles. But anyways, Luke is on the Team USA U17 hockey team. They recently came back from Worlds.” Claire adds.
So that’s why he was gone.
“But why take a fucking college level science course?” I ask.
“I don’t even know. But that’s basically who Tutor Boy is.”
I nod and throw away the aluminum foil before opening my cinnamon bun flavored puffcorns and eating them.
I’m in my head when my phone vibrates and I get a notification from instagram.
Holy. Fucking. Hell.

......
Cillian has vanished entirely, but music upstairs tells you he's either up in the office space, or in the bedroom. While you leave Síle and Griff in the living room with a cup of tea each and the TV controls, you clear the table and load up the dishwasher. It takes you ten minutes to tidy through, neatening the kitchen back up as you go. You linger on your feet beside Síle and Griff, cosy together on the sofa, with the overwhelming need to go in search of Cillian and ensure he's okay, or at least get a view as to what he's thinking and feeling. But you don't want to leave your guests, either.
“We're grand here if you want to go up after himself.” Síle says, looking away from the TV, and you're amused both by her comment and that she seemed to have read your mind.
“Don't take his mood to heart,” you say to her gently. “He's so snappy.”
“Temper on him like a toddler when he wants.” Síle laughs a little, and you can't pretend you've never seen that for yourself. “I really didn't mean to upset him though. And I promise that Yvonne and I aren't like the best of friends or anything.” She says, defending herself. “It really is so I can check in with the boys.”
You shake your head and hold out your hand, “You don't need to explain yourself to me.” You tell her. You can completely see her stance, but you do have a niggling wonder why it's never been mentioned before now. You stand for another moment or two, then you gesture towards the stairs. “I'm going to…” you say, jerking your head a little. “Help yourselves down here, yeah? Just raid the kitchen.” You smile, and turn away.
You take the stairs quickly and find the bedroom door ajar and the light on inside. You know he probably wants time to simmer down, too, especially with the music playing lightly - a wind down aid for him for as long as you've known him - but you don't know the song this time, so you can't gauge his feelings. You walk towards the door and place the flat of your hand against it, pushing it open slowly. He's sitting on the edge of the bed and looks up as the door creaks a little bit.
“That was like a car crash.” You say and he rolls his eyes, then sighs loudly. “Why'd you get so mad?”
He shrugs his shoulders and rolls his eyes again. “I dunno,” he swipes his tongue across his lips. “It just felt like she was going behind my back, and like it proves that I don't know my sons anymore.” He sighs.
“I don't think she means that at all.” You say gently. You step fully into the room and push the door closed. “Honestly, I don't.”
“I know,” he nods his head. “I feel like a right prick.”
You shake your head. “I wouldn't go that far, but you definitely jumped on her harshly.” you give him a serious look. “I think you owe her an apology for that. And I think you're really tired and your fuse is shorter.” You walk across the space between you and wrap your arms around his shoulders. Immediately, he wraps his arms around your waist and buries his head against you. You run your left hand up and down against the back of his head, and he squeezes tighter against you. “I probably should have talked to you before I agreed to them coming, especially your first night home again.”
“No,” he mumbles into your top. “She's my little sister, she can be here if she wants. I'm just tired and she got it. I'll talk to her.” He sighs. “But I just don't understand why she's keeping up with her - there's no need, like.”
“No, I know what you mean. And I understand that that's why you got annoyed by it.” You validate him quickly, “But she made a clear point in that it was purely for the boys.”
“Y/N!" He moans. "She can ask me,” he lifts his head and looks at you, “You know? They're my fucking sons too.”
You nod your head, “I know, love.” You draw your hand down from his head and tap against each of his shoulders with both hands. “Come on, bite the bullet and we'll go down there and be better hosts.” You smile. “Say you're sorry, and we'll open another bottle of something.”
“Can't we stay here?” He says, petulantly childish, and it makes you laugh. “I can think of more fun things to do than apologising.”
“Well, if you can do those fun things quietly, we can do them later when everyone's in bed.” You smirk and his eyebrows shoot up his forehead.
“How quiet?” He mutters as he drops his arms from around your waist.
As you step back to allow him to stand up, you laugh to yourself. “Oh, silent.” You offer, and laugh more when he frowns at you comically. “Just kiss me the whole time and it'll muffle every sound.” You suggest, grinning.
He raises his eyebrows again and you laugh a little more. He pulls down his jumper and nods towards the door, then reaches for his phone to silence the music. “C’mon.” he sighs. “Or I'll be extra stubborn and tell her to go home.” You know he's joking, of course, but you can see he's utterly exhausted and his pride is about to take a walloping.
You startle awake in the darkness of the bedroom, gasping with your heart thudding in your chest, and whatever the dream had been you can't recall it. You stare out, towards the wall, and try to settle your breathing. The bed shifts beside you and you feel Cillian's arm snake around your waist.
“Y’alright?” He asks in a husky whisper. His hand settles on your stomach, rubbing his fingers back and forth over your pyjama top, and he's spooned in close behind you. “Hey? Y/N, what happened? Are y'okay?” He asks. He's half asleep and his throat is grumbly, but he cares enough to try and see that you're okay.
“Yeah,” you whisper, conscious that Síle and Griff are in Malachy's room across the landing. “Dreaming, I don't even know what it was.” You say and push your body back against him. “Sorry,” you say, it being a second thought that your waking up was what has disturbed him.
“Ah, don't be sorry,” he mumbles, his face close to your neck. He moves his hand again against your stomach.
You reach out your hand and lift your phone from the nightstand. The screen immediately lights up and you can see it isn't even one am. You hadn't been in bed for even two hours, yet. And you wish you knew what the dream had been, because you'd woken feeling so afraid, so anxious, you know that it must have been fairly traumatic. You lay the phone back down. “Go back to sleep,” you tell him, shuffling your head on the pillow a little to get comfortable.
“Your heart's thumping.” he says quietly and pulls you even closer. “C’mere, I'll mind ya.” He’s smirking, you can hear, but you know he's exhausted.
“I'm okay, go back to sleep, Cill.” You say and rest your hand over his around your waist. But he isn't going back to sleep, and he makes it clear by pushing into you, his groin colliding with your backside in his slow movement forwards while his legs press closer in behind yours. “Cill…” you say quietly, your hand staying on top of his around your middle. His lips are pressing gentle kisses against the back of your neck, and you know it is game over for sleep for the time being. You remove your hand from on top of his and reach backwards, awkwardly turning your arm back and cup your hand over his arse, encouraging his movements. His penis is rapidly stiffening against the cleft of your backside and you feel the first stirrings of need between your own legs.
He moves his hand from your stomach and begins pulling at the waistband of your pyjama bottoms, and awkwardly moves his other arm around between you to help with the other side. You move a little, giving him easier access, and he slides your bottoms down to your knees. You reach your arm up by your head and bend it back to cup your hand over his head, and he lays kisses on your cheek at his odd angle. His hands vanish from your body for a moment and there's movement behind you before his body is quickly pressing back into you again. You can feel his skin against yours and the prodding of his erection at the base of your back. He nestles himself between your cheeks, gliding up and down with his slow thrusts against you, and reaches his hand back around your hip. He slides his hand slowly down past your belly button and softly through your pubic hair, then runs his middle finger down from your clit to your vagina. It's momentary, but he dips his finger inside before pulling back up and slowly rubbing circles around your clit. It's tender, assaulting but not violent, and you sigh and rest your back into his chest as his hand does the work. He rutts in slow movements into your cheeks and you know it'll be a sticky mess if positions aren't changed, but fuck it feels so good when his hands do their greatest work. You reach back your hand between your bodies, attempting to get your fingers wrapped around him, but the angle is awkward and you find it difficult. Though his fingers are skillful and only getting better at their task, you've been teased with the main event and you want it as much as he clearly does.
You bring your hand back around and place it on top of his, and while you spur him on for a moment - which makes him grunt into the skin on your neck, and you make a note in your mind that he likes when you help him help you - you then draw his hand away. You turn over, facing him in the dark, and find his face by guess alone. You kiss him gently, and his hands wrap around you and cup against the cheeks of your arse, putting you close to him. You feel the throb of his penis against your naval and all you want now is to feel it deep inside of you. It's like the dream never happened, now. He shifts and turns onto his back, and you know there's some silent, completely unspoken knowledge of what's intended. With him on his back, you awkwardly kick off your pyjama bottoms, as he kicks his own down off his feet, and climb up to straddle across his thighs. Despite the lack of wanting to draw attention should Síle or Griff be awake, you fumble at his nightstand and switch on the lamp, then slowly pull open the drawer for a condom. Seeing him in the yellow glow of the light, you smile as you look down on him from across his legs. His penis is twitching, back against his nest of dark hair, and he's watching you with lidded eyes and a half open mouth. You rip the condom open and quickly remove it. Holding the tip between your fingers, you take hold of his penis with your other hand and smile at the moan he lets out. You pump your fist three times before you hold him still and slowly slide the condom into place.
You crash down suddenly, comically even, with your hands planted by his shoulders, and steal a feverish kiss as you bring your lower body up a little higher. When you rise up again, onto your knees, you hover for a moment before reaching down and grasping his penis in your hand. Lining up unsexily, you slowly lower yourself down onto his cock, still throbbing as you remove your hands, and let yourself swallow him whole as you sink down fully. If he moans, as you assume, you don't hear it as your eyes close and your own sigh falls from your lips at the intense and satisfying feeling of being filled up. By all accounts, Cillian probably wouldn't be considered ‘hung’, but he was by no means lacking, and everything he did, especially with that slight curve, hit the spot perfectly. Taking him this way, being in charge like this yourself, allowed you to reach pleasures you didn't experience in other ways. You grind your hips back and forth, rising up just a little, and feel the doubly satisfying feelings of him inside you and your clitoris just about being tended to by the closeness of your bodies. His hands plant down onto your hips and urge you to move faster. You oblige, but only just - increasing your speed just enough for it to show on his face as his jaw falls open. He keeps his hands on your hips for a moment and then he slowly slides them up along your sides, then cups his hands around your breasts. A zap of excitement shoots through your body, and you rock your hips faster. His hands move back down, gripping around your hips again, and he guides you quicker and quicker. You want your mouth on his, to taste every sigh and moan he has, but the grip of his hands tell you to stay as you are, that he's on the home stretch, and that you're serving a purpose for him right now. Not that you mind the idea that he might be simply ‘fucking into you’ - it feels good, and you don't want it to stop. The speed is working for you, though, and your clitoral orgasm takes you by surprise a little, shuddering through your body and making you feel hot all over. You reach down your hands and almost claw at his belly, grinding harder against him, as your walls contact around his penis. It draws a whimper from him, and he sits up abruptly, balancing oddly, and wraps his arms around your back, pulling your head to his shoulder and your chest close to his. How he manages to rutt his hips up against you in that position is beyond you, but manage he does, and he groans into your ear as he cums, pulling you down as he thrusts upwards, and his sweaty body shudders. You can feel the jerking of his cock inside of you and you miss the feeling that used to accompany it. And you curse yourself for sullying an enjoyable moment with your darkness.
He breathes heavily against your shoulder and you keep your arms wrapped around him, soothing him through the trembles his body seems to be stuck in for a moment. You wonder if the masturbating he's done while away felt this good, you wonder if he's done it at all, by this reaction, and you move a little as his penis shifts inside of you. He cups his hands around your face and forces you to look at him. His eyes are sleepy but his pupils are blown wide. He kisses you slowly, softly, then draws your head back from his. “Fuck…” he whispers.
You smile, “Missed that.” You whisper back.
“Worth waking up for,” he says, and swipes his tongue across his lips. “Hope to fuck they're asleep across there.” He mutters, pulling a face as you lift up and shift over on the bed.
You watch him stare down at himself, his softened cock and a filled condom, and you wonder if his mind goes over the same things as yours. He turns his back to you, his legs dropped down over the side of the bed, and you hear the sickening snapping sound as he pulls the condom off and ties it before throwing it into the small bin beside his nightstand. He pulls his pyjama bottoms back on and it reminds you you're lying there half naked. You retrieve your pyjama bottoms and fix them on, and roll down the t-shirt that Cillian had pushed up under your neck.
It's been a long silence, but you answer his comment as you both stand, on either side of the bed, looking at one another. “It'll be an interesting breakfast if they're not.” Looking at him, though, you remember your dream and you feel a fluttering of panic in the centre of your chest as it flashes back into your mind.
You're heavily pregnant, standing on the deck of a ferry to England. And somewhere on the shore, waving you off, is Cillian with his hand laced into Yvonne's. She's pregnant, too, and his other hand is caressing her swollen belly lovingly.
You feel your breathing catch in your throat and you swallow heavily. You blink quickly and realise Cillian is staring at you. Focusing on his face, you frown. He's talking but you can't hear him. You breathe slowly, trying to be in control, but your ears buzz and your heart thumps wildly. You turn and sit on the edge of the bed, struggling to see straight, and you feel him beside you with his arms around you. He's pulling you close, and you can feel the vibrations in his chest of his talking but the words are lost. You feel dizzy, and your eyes are filling with hot tears. Why is this happening? It was a dream. You make a conscious effort to turn your head and see his face, and he looks so scared. “I'm okay,” you stammer, breathless. “.. I just…” you shrug weakly.
But you can hear him now, and you can hear the rasp to his voice that emerges when he's scared, and the soft words he's speaking are beautiful. “You're okay, girl, it's just a panic attack. I'm right here, yeah? I'm here, mo ghrá…”
“I'm okay,” you repeat, and rest your head against his shoulder. Slowly, you are becoming okay. And I can't even explain it. You turn your face so you can smell his skin and feel his heat, and he holds you even tighter and closer. “I'm sorry. I don't know what happened.” You say, and your breaths are evening out.
He sighs softly, “Anxiety doesn't always get explained,” he says. He's taken your brain in his stride again, and you're calmed by his love and acceptance.
But the dream is still right there.

“go to the party” they said “it’ll be fun” they said, no they didn’t, your friend dina said that. those exact words actually while dragging you up out of bed “no she’s going to be there” you groaned lying back down. recently you’ve gone through a rough break up with the one person you loved but hated the most, none other than ellie fucking williams.
there was no huge fight or yelling or anything she just got dry and that hurt even worse watching her drift apart. dina huffs sitting down beside you “i love you, but i also promised her i would come and i can’t go alone” she said looking at you resting her head on her elbow “d why would you do that!” you groaned rolling onto your stomach.
“you haven’t gotten out of the apartment since the event we don’t speak of and i’m worried about you, just come out tonight, stick around for half an hour and then we can go home if you want to.” she bargains a deal with you trying to get you to come. groaning and mumbling about not wanting to you sit you looking at her “20 minutes and you owe me dinner” “25?” she asks, batting her lashes “fine.”
getting up excited she runs to find you an outfit “oh my god we’ll make you look so hot tonight trust me she’ll wish she never bro-“ “dina! we don’t speak of it!” the only reason you kept the rule was because you felt like if you did bring it up you would just break down in tears.
noticing you getting lost in thought again she threw a top at you snapping you out of it "none of that sad shit tonight alright? we are going out to have fun and forget and that is what will be happening tonight." she says rummaging around for something to wear. "ugh you're lucky i love you" you say slipping your top off "oh? you. saying you love me? i want it on paper."
walking up to the house it's packed, people spilling out onto the porch and the lawn. fiddling with the hem of your top walking in dina guides you through handing you a cup "one drink that's all i ask." she says putting it into your hand "d where did you even get this?" you ask, looking into the cup grimacing at the strong scent of alcohol. "jesse made it for us" she says, gesturing her head towards him in the kitchen with a bunch of other friends. knowing you can now trust the the drink was not poisoned you take a sip of it immediately frowning “thats vile! What did he put in it?” you say putting the cup down on some random coffee table. Dina almost bent over laughing catches her breath putting a hand on your shoulder “pretty sure its  80% vodka and maybe some cranberry juice” she says sipping hers “sure fucking taste like it” you grumble walking around with her.
Sitting down at a barstool in the kitchen you kept checking your clock waiting until her 25 minutes was up. Looking up from your phone you sigh, spotting jesse and dina sneak off into a bedroom. Great now you're stuck here for however long that will take.
Getting up the air starts to feel stuffy in the packed house suddenly craving the fresh air. Pushing your way through crowds you come out to the backyard where it is significantly quieter. Leaning against the railing you take a few deep breaths, lookin around there was only a few other people out here. One group by the fireplace with their beers chatting and laughing, the others seemed to have the same intent as you just trying to get away from the noise.
Looking over one person caught your eye, well two really. A certain auburnette and some random girl practically eating each others faces off. Having two do a double take you realize its ellie. Your heart sinks to your feet watching them when she lifts her head to see you, the color from her face disappears as she pushes the girl out of her way “i can explain” she says cautiously taking steps towards you. Shaking your head you felt the way to familiar sting in the corners of your eyes “your such a fucking asshole” you say walking away “wait cmon!” she calls out chasing after you through the house loosing you when she turns a corner.
Almost sprinting away you find yourself walking in on two people hooking up and another crying girl before you find an empty room to hide in. sitting down on the floor you try to calm down and slow the stream of tears that seems to flow endlessly the past week. Pressing a hand on your chest you start to try taking deep steady breaths which reduce the tears to soft sniffles and occasional hiccups.
Trying to ignore your phone blowing up with dina trying to find you, you stay sunken on the floor in some random storage closet when the door slowly creaked open to reveal a silhouette against the darkness of the hallway light and dark of the closet. You make out the familiar face of ellie. Looking back down into your lap you don't say a word not wanting to even look at her.
Breaking the silence she speaks up “Can we talk?” she asks softly leaning against the door frame tapping your shoe with the tip of her beat up converse to get your attention. “Not much to talk about” you murmured wiping your nose with the back of your sleeve moving your foot away from hers. “I mean can we talk about us? What happened” she looks genuinely concerned for you worried which is something new. “And you want to do that in here” you ask raising an eyebrow and she shrugs “i think it sums this situation up pretty well” chucking softly ellie feels a wave of warmth crash over her hearing your laugh. Flipping on the light she sits down with you shutting the door leaning against the wall.
“Look im sorry–” “thats new” you cut her off and she just scoffs looking away “im not fucking around here alright?” she says her tone suddenly serious and not like the soft one before. “Im sorry how all this shit went down. I didn't want you to see me like that. If i had to be perfectly honest im not exactly sober and im hurting.” she mumbles looking down into her lap. “So am i and im not over here making out with the first girl thats willing to. You got distant with me, you stopped talking to me when i did everything to get you to like me.” your voice breaks with tears as you speak tears pooling in your eyes threatening to spill.
“I was trying to protect you..” she says quietly almost desperate for you to listen. Looking at her confused shes got your attention now. Sighing she shakes her head muttering to herself before speaking up. “I was not in the best shape alright? All that shit going down with joel and the pressure i didn't want to hurt you more and accidentally snap and say things i don't mean. You're better than me okay? So much better and by staying with me i was only holding you back. I was trying to save you from me.” tears are now falling down her cheeks.
The feeling of wanting to curl up into a ball so tight you permanently fused your bones in the fixed position slumped your shoulders. The words wouldn't come up, all that could were the tears. Putting your head into your hands you start to cry, ellie shifts over to your side of the closet wrapping her arm around your shoulder pulling her closer to her side. Instinctively, you wrap your arms around her waist crying into her.
Rubbing soft circles on your pack she whispers her soft sorries holding you close until dina opened the door spotting you two on the floor. Walking back to the car ellie helps sit you down in the back petting your hair softly knowing it calmed you down when she did that “ill come by tomorrow okay? Well talk more” she says softly kissing your forehead watching you cry. Dina and jesse get up front jesse being the only one sober enough to drive you home.
Back in your bed dina was sat beside you in bed watching over you “what did she say?” she asked softly looking down at you “she said she was just protecting me…” you muttered half awake. She nods knowing not to pry leaves it at that. “You owe me dinner” you muttered causing dina to laugh softly nodding “i do.”
Waking up in the morning felt like hell with the sun shinning right into your eyes head pounding from crying so much mouth dry and hair sticking up all over the place. Dina already left leaving you alone in the apartment. Groaning you flop back into bed trying to go back to bed when theres a soft knock at the door ellie's voice coming out muffled “you up?” she asks “unfortunately” you reply sitting up watching her come into the room holding a convenience store bag. “Got your favorites” she said softly shutting the door sitting down on the edge of you bed “thought you could use it and if i had to be completely honest it is my sorry gift” she says putting it beside you. Humming you keep your eyes on her making eye contact.
“I miss you” you whisper reaching your foot out under the covers to tap her thigh. Nodding she puts a hand on your knee rubbing her thumb over it “i know you do… i do too” she says keeping her gaze down. Kicking off her shoes she crawls up in bed beside you lying down. “I would like to try again.. I'll show my ugly bits and and the dirty but ill do it with you” she laces her fingers between yours. “Okay” you whisper and she smiles “i know you wont trust me immediately but i don't care, well work through it and its worth it to have my girl back.” she lifts your hand to kiss it softly shutting her eyes. Shifting you move to lie don on top of her in her arms clingin onto her for dear life “ i really really missed you” you mumble into her chest and she kisses the top of you head rocking you softly “i did too baby,”

“YOU WHAT?” Ruffilo shouted from across the room at me as he stood up in disbelief. I sat on the couch with my head in my hands, pulling at my roots.
“I don’t know why I did it.. I just. I had to do something to make myself feel better about the situation,” I said, shaking my head, my voice strained with stress.
“When I said to find your own way to get back at her, I didn’t fucking mean that, you dumbass!” He was now pacing, like he was the one who fucked up. Maybe I shouldn’t have come to him about this.
“I know. I just..,” I let out a deep sigh, falling back on the couch, “Maybe I did it to hurt her, or maybe I did it to hurt myself. I don’t know. I just couldn’t take this shit anymore.”
“Dude! You spent YEARS talking about this girl. You’ve written fucking songs about her. You get into one fight, and do this?” He finally stopped and stared at me, waiting for me to come up with a better explanation, but I couldn’t. Because I didn’t have one.
Footsteps creep into the living room, so I look up and see Jolly looking at us, confused.
“What’s all the yelling about?” he asked, looking between the two of us. I just anxiously chewed on my lip, so Ruffilo answered for me.
“This jackass decided to hook up with someone at his fucking birthday party.” He put a hand on his hip like a disappointed parent, waiting for Jolly to give any reaction. I turn to Jolly and he’s giving me a look, a mix of shock and confusion. I let out a groan, getting up and walking to my room. I don’t need this. I had hoped Ruffilo could give me any advice for this fuck-up I made, but I should’ve known I would just get scolded.
I fall onto my bed and shove my face into my pillow, letting out a groan. I don’t fucking know why I did it. I was pissed off at how close she’s gotten with Matt. And when random friend of one of the guys was chatting with me and I looked over and saw that fucking Ghost Face grinding against Davis, I just lost it. I don’t know why sleeping with a random girl was my decision, especially when it won’t even affect Y/N if she never finds out, it was just the only thing my irrational brain could think of. Maybe I did it hoping it would help me get over her, but it just made me feel so much worse. I know we’ve been ignoring each other, but she’s acting like she doesn’t even fucking care about me anymore. So, I thought that maybe I shouldn’t care either, but obviously, everyone thought that was the stupidest thing I could do.
I hear the rest of the guys get back from the store, hearing cheers as they probably showed everyone the food and alcohol they got, and all I could do was groan. This break was supposed to be fun. The party was supposed to be fun. I was hoping to take Y/N on a date or two, showing her my favorite places in the city. But no. She showed up for the party, ignored me the whole time, and was nowhere to be found when I came back..after making that terrible decision. Fuck. Why the fuck did it have to work out this way? Why’d I yell at her at the bar? If we could just sit down and talk, maybe we could at least be friends. I can’t stand finally having her in my life yet she just fucking ignores me. Fuck, I need a fucking distraction.
I stood up from my bed and headed downstairs, trying my best to sneak by so no one would notice me. I reach the kitchen and grab a random bottle we had on top of the fridge, before sneaking back to my room. Locking the door behind me, I go to sit on my bed and grab my phone, connecting it to my speakers before opening Spotify and clicking a random playlist.
Turning the volume up full blast, I twist off the cap of what I now see is a bottle of fucking vodka. Grimacing, I lift it to my lips and take a large swig before setting it down on my nightstand, making a disgusted face at the taste and burn.
My thoughts were brought back to the first night of tour, drinking with the group and watching her from across the bus. She took a shot of vodka and made the same face before catching me watching her and giving me the most beautiful smile.
A growl erupts in my throat. I need to get her out of my fucking head. How am I even going to look at her when tour starts again if I can’t even handle thinking of her?
I grab the bottle again and take an even larger drink, leaning against the wall behind my bed as I felt the liquid fire fill my gut. Distraction. I need another fucking distraction. Because this isn’t hitting me fast enough and the music isn’t overpowering my thoughts.
I open my phone and pull up Instagram, hoping to find absolutely fucking anything that pulls me from these thoughts. I scroll and scroll, every meme trying to be funny, and every picture of someone looking happy just pissing me off.
I keep scrolling before my eyes land on tattoos. Her’s. I pause and see that State of the Scene had posted a photo of her in a sound booth. My eyes trail down to the caption. “Lorna Shore’s Will Ramos posts Praising Deities’ Y/N Y/L/N, calling her the ‘next deathcore vocalist’ and that he ‘can’t wait for y’all to hear what she can do.’ Let’s hope she releases something new soon, as fans have been enjoying her covers of ‘To the Hellfire’ and ‘Sun//Eater,’ sung on her current tour with the band Bad Omens.”
All it took was one comment. A single fucking comment to push me over the edge.
“Are those hickeys on her neck?”
Before I could even think, a yell came spewing out as I threw my phone across the room, creating a loud band and a small crack as it shattered against the wall.
Tears came pouring down my face, now being unable to hold back every emotion that I’ve felt the past few weeks. I took one last swig of the vodka before setting it on my nightstand and lying down, pulling my covers over me. ‘Love Me to Death’ by Suicide Silence blasted through my speakers, proving that my phone wasn’t completely destroyed, but now I couldn’t fucking change it.
She has every fucking right to move on. I fucking did, too. But to get that confirmation that after barely a month of finally having her in my life, she’s fucking gone. I can’t take it anymore. My chest ached and burned. All I wanted to do was scream until the pain was gone. I wanted her. I needed her. How did my life turn into such a fucking train-wreck so fast?
Suddenly, someone knocks on my door. They try to say something, but between my sobs and the music, I don’t know what.
“FUCK OFF,” was all I said before shoving my head under my pillow, ignoring the rest of the world as I prayed for the alcohol to hit more and clear my mind.
Tumblr media
Y/N
The other guys left after listening to my isolated screams, commenting on a few, and giving me a few ‘good lucks’ before going about their day. I made sure to thank Dave for letting me use his studio, and he said that it was here for me anytime. I doubt I’ll ever take him up on that offer, as I was still extremely intimidated by him, but I really appreciated it.
Will and I were now just messing around in the studio. We already spent a good hour or so working on how I could get certain screams and growls to sound better and how I could enunciate words differently if that’s what I enjoyed. Now, we were just playing music and singing along as we occasionally went back and forth in the sound booth, wanting to see if we could hit notes right. Every recording we took was just full of giggles, so thankfully we were already planning to delete them right after listening.
He even taught me a few controls, mainly how to set songs up for him, make them only play for the person in the booth, and which button let me talk to him. We learned more about each other’s music tastes and where it came from, even who we took inspiration from for our own music. I learned more about his love for Sleep Token, which went a lot deeper than I thought. He went on a few rambles just talking about his appreciation for how they write the music and even played songs, pointing out specific things Vessel did in his vocals.
He kept playing ‘Chokehold’ over and over, to the point that I practically learned the whole song. After what felt like the tenth full run-through, not counting the amount of times he went back and repeatedly played specific parts because he just couldn’t get over the sound, I stood up and walked to the sound booth.
I was getting more used to being in here now and definitely more used to singing in front of Will. We’d been in this studio for hours at this point, just singing to each other, so all my nerves were gone.
He watched me as I walked and immediately sat up and leaned over the controls, a little confused.
“Play it again, I wanna try,” I told him through the mic as I put the headphones on.
“Chokehold? You wanna sing Chokehold? You literally just fucking heard it,” He said, laughing.
“I heard it like 30 times and you even gave me a rundown of every single quirk in his vocals, now run it,” I teased. He playfully lifted his hands in defense before getting everything set up.
The intro started playing so I held the headphones close to my ears and counted the beats in my head, not wanting to miss the cues.
When we were made
I did my best to make it airy and hold the same enunciation as Vessel did.
It was no accident
It was honestly so entertaining to practice Sleep Token songs. Vessel put so much character into every single note and to reenact it was so fun. Especially switching between chest voice and head voice or adding the little ‘t’ at the end of a line.
We were tangled up like branches in a flood
Over-exaggerating certain parts was new to me unless I was singing along to a more pop punk song, where everyone had a specific accent they used.
I come as a blade
I did my best to flow into a high note, and I did surprisingly well, so I turned to Will with a proud look on my face before continuing.
A sacred guardian
Will was watching me in awe, and I so badly wanted to laugh at the face he made, but I had to keep my composure to continue.
So you keep me sharp and test my worth in blood
It looked like Will was slowly falling into deep thought, but I knew it was still recording, so I just ignored him and continued.
You’ve got me in a chokehold
I did my best to remember how Vessel did the audible breaths and tried to recreate them.
You’ve got me in a chokehold
You’ve got me in a-
I look back over to see if Will was doing his famous dance to this part like he had every other replay of this song, but instead, he stood up and paused the music, and started messing around with more controls.
“Will? Did I do something wrong?” I asked, and he just shook his head as he did whatever the hell he was trying to do.
Finally, he stopped touching buttons, and the music started again, and he was rushing into the sound booth with me. He hurriedly came over and grabbed the other set of headphones lying in here, putting them on and turning to me with a child-like smile.
“Roll with it,” He said, so I nodded and began to sing.
When we were made
Woah, he finally turned on the control so we could hear ourselves and each other.
It was no accident
We were tangled up like branches in a flood
Then, Will joined in with me.
I come as a blade
I looked at him, shocked. We sounded so fucking good. He went lower as I took the high note at the end, nailing it once again.
A sacred guardian
So you keep me sharp and test my worth in blood
He looked at me and put a hand on my shoulder, and I took that as a signal for me to let him sing the following lines.
You’ve got me in a chokehold
You’ve got me in a chokehold
He patted my shoulder, and I assumed that as him saying to join him.
You’ve got me in a-
He started headbanging to the music and I looked at him like we just did the craziest thing, because, to me, we fucking did. I had to hold back my giggles as he jammed out next to me. The next lines were about to come up, so he composed himself and put a hand on my shoulder, this now being our signal for him to sing.
Beneath the stormy seas
Above the mountain peaks
It’s all the same to me
It makes no difference
He patted my shoulder, so I joined in.
I’ve seen my days unfold
Done the impossible
I’d turn my walls to gold
To bring you home again
He stepped back from the mic, so it was just me singing the next few lines.
So show me that which I cannot see
Even if it hurts me
Even if I can’t sleep
Oh, and though we
Act out of our holy
Duty to be constantly awake
I did my best to hit the last notes, and then felt a tap on my shoulder.
You’ve got me in a chokehold
He started doing a fry scream and it sounded so good.
You’ve got me in a chokehold
He patted my shoulder once again, and I had to quickly think of the best route of action to make our vocals sound good together, but just landed on continuing to do clean, alto vocals.
You’ve got me in a chokehold
You’ve got me in a chokehold
He switched back to his clean vocals for the ending.
Even if it hurts me
Even if I can’t sleep
Show me the way
We held out the last note together, him not trying to create harmony, just matching our vocals so they meshed together.
We looked at each other in shock as the song ended before rushing out of the sound booth and over to the control board. We listened back to our isolated vocals in disbelief. The fact that we just threw this together last second was unbelievable.
We listened to it a few times, talking about what could be fixed or edited, both of us individually running to the sound booth multiple times to sing our parts so we could edit them together. We even did some lines differently, seeing if more harmony or if me doing harsh vocals would sound better.
After recording probably too many pieces, he switched over all the vocals to his personal laptop, and we started working them together. Finally, we added the instrumental over top, spending a few minutes lining everything up perfectly, giving it one last listen, and then just staring at each other, shocked.
“We just fucking made that!” I said, pointing to his laptop. He nodded with a wide smile.
“Yes, the fuck we did,” he said, holding his hand up. I gave him a high-five, laughing at the insanity that was the piece of art we just made.
“What now? Show the boys?” I asked, hooking a finger over my shoulder at the door behind me.
“Dude, we have to fucking show everyone. Are you kidding me?”
“Now? You’re gonna post it now?” I asked, both shocked and amused.
“Y/N. We just spent over two hours editing this together. Plus, it’s just a cover. Yes, now.” He laughed out. I looked over at the clock and realized that we had indeed been doing this for a while.
“Okay, okay. Ahh, I’m scared. No. I’m excited,” I rushed out, kicking my feet. He just laughed at me before turning to his laptop. I watched as he downloaded the file before uploading it on his personal Spotify with my name featured on it. I just stared at the screen in shock. I just did a cover song. It was now up for everyone to see. And I did it with Will Ramos. Oh my fucking god.
I quickly pull my phone out, ignoring every notification, and open Spotify. I copy the link to the song and head over to Instagram. I screen-recorded the story Will made earlier, and cropped it as I made a post of the video, and added the link to the song played over the post.
“Chokehold- Sleep Token. A cover by Will Ramos and Y/N Y/L/N 🖤🤘🏻,” I wrote in the caption. I tagged Will and hit post.
I looked over at Will and grinned. He looked back at me, smiling twice as big. I was so full of excitement and energy, and I didn’t know what to do, so I just flung myself on him, pulling him into a tight hug.
“Will, you’ve made these last two days more fun than I’ve had this past month. Thank you so much.” He held me closer, laughing with me.
“Anything for you, my little petal.” I giggled at my nickname again before pulling away.
“I’m serious, though. These last few weeks- Hell! These last few years had been fucking crazy for me, and I feel like by simply meeting you, shit’s finally starting to fall into place. I’m doing new things. More people are listening to me. I just learned controls, for fucks sake,” I laughed, making him chuckle down at me, “So thank you. I’m so unbelievably fucking happy to have finally met you.”
He looks at me with a warm smile, my words soaking in. I was still hugging him, so we were still super close, and I don’t know what came over me, but I pulled him down and brought his lips to mine.
He tensed for a moment but instantly kissed me back. I brought my hand up to the back of his head, sliding my fingers into his pink locs as I held him close. His hands slid up to my sides, pulling my body towards him more. The kiss was about to deepen, when I got pulled back to reality by my phone ringing. I immediately pulled away and looked at him, shocked, before fumbling to grab my phone. I answered it without even looking at who was calling.
“Hello?” I greeted, having to clear my throat as it cracked a bit out of shock.
“YOU RELEASED A SONG WITHOUT TELLING YOUR OWN BAND? YOUR OWN BROTHERS?” Finn shouted into the phone, making me chuckle and pull my phone from my ear.
“Shit. Yeah, sorry about that. Will and I were messing around in the studio,” I had to clear my throat again after saying ‘messing around’ before continuing, “ and we were listening to Sleep Token and decided to try out doing a cover, and it came out surprisingly well.”
“When the fuck did you meet Will? I thought he was in New Jersey," he asked.
“Funny story, actually. Him and the band are staying here with a friend, and we ran into each other at the club,” I sheepishly replied. There was silence on the other side of the phone for a few moments, and I almost thought we lost connection before he finally replied.
“Oh, we’re having a long chat the next time I see you, missy. Which better be soon, might I add. I’ve seen you once in the last four days,” he finally said, with a tone mixed with suspicion and deviousness.
“Yes, Sir. Now, did you only call to yell at me?” I teased.
“Well, I did want to tell you that you two sounded fucking fantastic and that maybe you could invite Will over to the boys’ house, but I can sense you’re having more fun there,” He teased back.
“Shut it. I appreciate the compliment and will pass it on, but I’m ignoring everything you said after that for multiple reasons.”
“Oh… shit, you’re right. That might be a bad idea…Anyway, have fun with your little date. Love you!” He said, making me roll my eyes.
“Love you, too.” And then I hung up. I chewed on my lip nervously before finally turning around to look at Will. He was staring at me with a humorous expression.
“I hope you know that I could hear that entire conversation,” He chuckled out, making me facepalm, “And tell him that I said thank you for the compliment. Now…what was that?”
I groaned and walked past him, sitting down and throwing my head down in my hands.
“Will. I’m so sorry,” was all I could get out. I hear his footsteps come towards me, and I looked up to see him crouching down in front of me.
“For what? I mean, we’ve done more than that, so don’t think I’m bothered.”
“No. I mean, I am sorry for kissing you. I said we were gonna leave it all behind and pretend like nothing happened, and I still want to. But I’m mainly sorry that I may be pulling you into a very awkward situation.” He gave me a confused look. I let out a deep sigh. Should I even explain or just leave him out of this?
“So… Something may or may not have happened with…someone …I’m touring with…and shit has been weird. Fuck. It’s a long ass story,” I finished with a groan. He chuckled softly and rested his hands on my knees before sitting down in front of me with his legs crossed.
“I have time, my petal. Tell me what’s bothering you.” I let out another deep sigh. I might as well tell someone else the bullshit that’s been happening since everyone else seems to know.
And so I did. I told him everything. From the festival to the song lyrics. The ‘talk.’ The night at the bar. The Halloween/ birthday party. The depression. Me getting back into smoking. How reckless I was being last night because I wasn’t in the right mind. Everything. And he sat there, staring at me and listening intently, occasionally giving my knees a squeeze if I got a little too emotional. He let me tell him everything. Once I finally finished, he stood up, pulling me up with him and giving me a big hug.
“Everything will work out, my little petal. You two will eventually make up because you have to, or else tour will be really weird. I’m perfectly fine being that rebound that kind of gets in the way because I know you didn’t do it to hurt anyone. And because I really enjoy spending time with you and being your friend,” He pulled away and looked me deep in my eyes, “And just your friend. We can leave everything in the past. We randomly ran into each other at a club, went home separately, and the next day, I gave you vocal lessons and we recorded a song together. That’s all that happened. Okay?”
Tears were now welling up in my eyes as I nodded before pulling him back into a hug.
“Thank you.” I managed to get out. He rubbed my back as he held me close.
“Anything for a friend.”
After a minute or two of just taking in the comfort and reassurance, I finally pulled away and sat back down, him following and sitting back in his chair. He turned back to his laptop, typing away at something for a few minutes as I sat in my thoughts.
“Will?” I asked after a few moments. He turned to me with a ‘hm?’
“What’s with the ‘my little petal’?” I finally asked. He chucked and sat back in his chair with a small shy grin.
“Uh..well, first off, you’re pretty like a flower. You’re soft, delicate, and, you know, are able to either attract or repel others with your looks…I guess? Plus, you can be a little sharp, but only if you have to…And I like flowers. I don’t know. It was something that came to mind last night and I guess it just stuck,” He answers, a little embarrassed, making me giggle.
“God, you’re such a sap. If I didn’t have a goddamn soul tie to someone, that would work on me,” I teased, making him laugh loudly.
“Good to know,” he teased back with a smirk, “But, on a different note, I do have an idea for you.”
I look at him suspiciously, waiting for him to continue. He returned to doing something on the laptop before moving him and the computer to the control board. I watched him curiously as he started messing with things again. He couldn’t possibly want to change anything about the cover we did. It was already posted.
After messing around with a few things, he turned to me.
“Two questions. One- How badly do you want to at least try and make things better between you two? Like, I know it’s still super rocky, and it’s gonna take time, but do you want to at least reach out?” He asked. I was confused, but still thought about it for a moment, weighing my decisions.
“Badly. I know we’re gonna have to start over completely. We’ve both done some weird shit in the past few weeks, but I need us to reach a point where we can at least look at and speak to each other again.” I finally answered. He nodded before continuing.
“Second question, are you okay with being recorded today?” I looked at him, extra confused, and saw that he was pointing towards a camera that has apparently been in the sound booth this whole time. What did this man have planned?
I pulled out my phone and opened the camera, looking over my appearance. My makeup was mostly intact after redoing it in the morning, even after tearing up a little, and I didn’t do anything with my hair today, but I ran my fingers through it so it was semi-presentable. Then my eyes landed on my neck, and I made a slight hiss at the marks.
“Let me borrow a hoodie, and I’ll be fine,” I answered, and he immediately started taking off the one he threw on earlier and handed it to me before getting up and walking to the sound booth to start messing with the camera in there.
“Will, what am I about to do? Why am I being recorded?” I asked, more confused than ever. He just shot me a smirk as he finished messing with the camera and came back out.
“Just get in there.” He said, pointing at the sound booth.
“You have to tell me what song I’m covering. Do I even know it?” I said as I threw on his hoodie and walked into the sound booth. I pulled the hood up so it was shielding my neck from the camera and then tried my best to pretend a camera wasn’t flashing, indicating that it was already recording me.
“Y/N, I promise you that if you don’t know this song, it’s not meant to be.” He spoke into my headphones. I continued staring at him, confused as ever. And then I watched as he hit a few buttons, setting the track back and hitting record, before finally hitting play. I got myself ready to sing whatever song I apparently should know.
And then ‘Just Pretend’ started playing.

Will and I worked on putting the video together. He made me do multiple takes, the first one showing that I was a little spooked at the song choice. We edited the audio, taking out as many voice cracks as possible since singing this song over and over again did eventually make me emotional.
Now he was, in his words, “working his magic,” and, “putting the best video over the audio.” And I just sat back and let him work, fidgeting with the strings of his hoodies as I listened to him type away at his laptop.
Would this even work? He kept choosing audio clips that captured more emotion, even if I was literally crying as I sang. I told him that it was going to sound weird, but he kept shutting me up, saying that he knew what he was doing. I was so drained from everything we did today, and good god, I’ve listened to myself sing so much today, I think I’m going to lose my mind. I leaned my head back against the chair and let out a deep sigh. Today has been a lot. Not in a bad way, just…a lot.
He swiveled his chair around and turned to me, making me look up at him. He held the computer out to me, so I took it, eyeing him.
“My work here is done,” he said with a proud smile. He was a little too excited about this, even after watching me cry for over an hour to a song. My eyes flickered between him and the laptop, debating if I even wanted to see this, but I still hit play.
The music started, and my voice rang through the laptop speakers. It was a little too full of emotion for my standards, but I’m going to trust Will on this. Then, I realized he had chosen one of the last recordings, where I had already cried, so my eyes were a little red.
I continued watching, seeing that he still kept some of the audio clips where my voice cracked, but just in the right spots, like the parts where I held out notes.
Weigh down on me, stay til morning
Way down, would you say I’m worthy
A tear fell down my eye in the video. I don’t cry in front of people. And he wants me to post this?
Weigh down on me, stay til morning
Way down, would you say I’m worthy
I had glanced into the camera at that point. I didn’t even know I did that, but you could see the emotion in my red, puffy eyes. My makeup was even starting to run a little.
I can wait for you at the bottom
I can stay away if you want me to
I can wait for years if I gotta
Heaven knows I ain’t gettin over you
My voice cracked at almost every high note, but it didn’t sound bad. It was just…emotional.
We’ll try again
When we’re not so different
We will make amends
Til then, I’ll just pretend
I had stepped away from the mic at that point, unable to finish from the exhaustion of having to repeatedly sing a song that held every emotion I felt, but Will layered vocals from another clip over the video, just sounding a little more distant. I looked over at Will with a look of disbelief as the video faded out.
“Well?” He asked, still holding a proud, smug grin on his face.
“Wh- How- Will!” I stuttered, in complete shock, “I-what do I even do with this?”
“Well, I’m glad you asked. I reached out to Mr. Nicholas Ruffilo, asking for permission to even do this. He said to send him the video as soon as it’s finished, and then we could figure out where to go from there,” he answered. I looked between him and the laptop again before handing the computer back to him.
“I don’t know how this is gonna work out. It looks like I’m throwing a pity party,” I whine, pointing at that laptop.
“Okay, but were those emotions manipulative? Or were they real?” He asked with a pointed look.
“They were real, but I already fucked up so bad. Twice. I know me sleeping with you was just a reaction to seeing him leave the party with a girl, but that doesn’t mean it won’t kill him to find out. So the last thing I need is for him to think of me as a manipulative whore,” I practically cry out. Will shakes his head and scoots closer to me, resting a hand on my knee.
“I promise you, if he wants this to work out as much as you do, he will see the authenticity in this,” he replies, making me sigh.
“Since you did all the work, you get all the blame,” I say, leaning back in my chair with a sigh. I can either see this fucking things up more, or actually working out, but either way, fans are going to freak the fuck out if this gets posted online. God, am I really communicating with a man through music again?
Will types away at the computer, probably saving the file and sending it to Ruffilo, before looking at me.
“I’m starving. Wanna go get dinner?” He asked, as if nothing happened. I give him an exhausted yet humored side-eye before nodding and standing up with him.

Noah
I awoke to someone rummaging next to me. With a groan, I rolled over and looked to see Ruffilo screwing the lid back onto the bottle of vodka next to my bed, Nick turning my speakers off, and Jolly picking up my smashed phone and a picture that I guess had also fallen when I threw the phone.
“Get the fuck out of here,” I groaned, before bringing my arm over my eyes, the hangover instantly kicking in. I still felt tipsy, probably not having slept for a long time, but that didn’t change the fact that I hadn’t had a single sip of water today.
“Take this,” Ruffilo said. I peek out from under my arm and see him handing me a glass of water like he read my fucking mind, which I instantly took. I sat up and chugged the whole glass. It felt like I hadn’t had water in days. I set the cup beside me before dropping my head in my hands with a loud groan.
“Do we..?” I heard Jolly ask, not knowing what the hell he meant. I then heard someone, probably Ruffilo, crouch down beside my bed. I glance over and see him giving me a pitying look, making me roll my eyes.
“Whenever you’re ready, I have something to show you downstairs. I can make the other guys leave for a little if you don’t want to deal with company, but it’s something that you need to see,” he said in a hushed tone, like I was a dog he would scare away if he spoke too loud.
I let out a deep sigh and rubbed my eyes before swinging my feet over the bed. There’s nothing they could show me that would make me feel worse than I do now, so why the fuck not? They all backed up as I sat up from my bed, swaying a little as the alcohol hadn’t yet left my system. They all file out of my room, and I follow.
“Did you guys seriously pick my lock?” I grumbled out, remembering that I had locked the door before passing out. Nick glanced over at me, looking a little guilty, causing a huff of a laugh to escape my lips.
They led me to the living room, which was thankfully empty. Who knows where everyone else was. Jolly reached over and grabbed a laptop, sitting down on the couch and opening it. I plopped down next to him, sinking into the back of the couch, not really wanting to be here. After a few moments of him typing away at it, pulling something up, he sat the laptop on the table in front of me.
I glanced at the laptop and then at the rest of them, confused. What the fuck were they about to show me? Ruffilo motioned his head towards it, signaling to me that I had to press play, so I did.
Instantly, the beginning of ‘Just Pretend’ played through the speakers of the laptop, making me groan. What the fuck was this? But then, her face came up as the vocals started.
I just sat there, staring at her in shock as she sang. She had a hoodie pulled over her so only her face showed. I leaned in closer, noticing something. She was crying. Every time she opened her eyes, they were bloodshot, and her makeup had been running.
Her voice cracked with emotion every high note, like she had been holding back a sob. I never wanted to see her cry. Especially not like this…
The bridge hit, and my eyes widened as she looked at the camera. Her eyes were full of what I could only describe as despair. They were dull and glazed over, barely even processing where she was looking, just staring off as she let the emotion flow through her singing. Her voice was harsh, like she had either been using it a lot or smoking. But it was still beautiful.
She stepped away from the mic after the heart wrenching post-chorus, almost like her body was about to cave in on itself. But her voice still rang through. Her face scrunched up as she looked down, and you could almost see a sob shake her body. The sight of her at a breaking point as her beautiful voice still sang, just in the distance, was more heartbreaking than anything I’ve ever seen.
The video finally ended and I just stared at the black screen, catching my reflection in it and saw that I was crying as well. I don’t even know what to do now. Emotion poured through me and my head fell into my hands as broken sobs left my lips. What the fuck was that? What the fuck do I do now?
I made a terrible fucking mistake, and she had obviously went to Will to make her feel better, but then she makes this? What the fuck does any of this even mean? What the fuck do I do? I want to see her. To hold her. But that’s not my place. It never was. She learned that going to people like Matt or Finn or Will was much less heartbreaking than coming to me. But I just need to talk to her. To start over.
Why did I start ignoring her? Why did I get so upset at the bar? She had every single right to feel that way, I just became attached too quickly and couldn’t let her leave. But she still did. She left, and she probably already moved on to Will. I mean, that was the same sound booth that I saw in that picture earlier, so she’s obviously been spending the break with him. She was barely here at the party. God, that fucking party. The first time I got a chance to be close to her in two weeks and I spent it ruining everything. I got jealous at her being a friendly person and went and fucking slept with someone. She had every single right to fucking move on. I mean, I tried to as well.
But what the fuck was this then? Why did she cover my fucking song, looking ever so heartbroken? Where the fuck did this even come from? Why were the guys showing me this? I finally look up at the three boys in front of me, all of them staring down at me in pity.
“What the fuck is this?” I finally managed to get out between sobs.
“All I was told was that she wanted to make this and that Will wanted me to show it to you. You’re gonna have to talk to her to figure out the rest.” Ruffilo responded, not helping me at all.
“I just don’t understand! I see a post of her hanging out with Will, covered in hickeys, and then she fucking does this?” I ask, still overwhelmed with everything. Ruffilo sighs.
“Noah. You do realize that you’re doing the exact same thing, right? You slept with someone and then proceeded to break down in guilt. She’s just the one to throw in the towel first. She’s trying to make up.” I groan between sobs and fall back into the couch, bringing an arm up to cover my face.
“What do I do, then? It’s not like I can text her. My phones broken and it’s just gonna be awkward.”
“Just think about it. Plan out your best choice of action and work from there. This is something that can only be fixed by the two of you,” he answered. Fuck.
“Also, I’ll head out tomorrow to get you a new phone. It’s too late to go now,” Jolly chimed. After thinking about it for another minute, I let out a deep sigh and sat back up.
“Okay. I’ll figure this out.” The boys watched me for a second, trying to get a good sense of if I was being serious, before coming over and patting me on the back before heading into the house, probably to hang out with the rest of the guys, leaving me in my thoughts.

Y/N
I anxiously chew on my lip as Will and I walk down the streets of L.A. Neither of us heard anything back from Ruffilo or any of the guys, yet. Will said that he didn’t want the night to end just yet, since I wasn’t in the best headspace, and he did his best to keep me from my thoughts as we went on our little adventure, which I really appreciated. But, to be honest, neither of us know where the hell we were going.
After we ate, he thought it’d be a good idea to just explore the city since neither of us really knew anything about it, but nothing caught our eye as we walked. It was nice to stretch our legs after sitting in a studio for a good eight hours, though.
We walked through the city, pointing out random things we saw, occasionally bumping into each other, either on purpose or because we weren’t paying attention, and just chatting about whatever came to our minds.
“What are your thoughts on adding a rhythm guitarist to Praising Deities?” I asked. He chucked, but gave it some thought.
“I mean, I have a feeling you’re gonna want to change up your style a little, now that you’re more comfortable with broadening your vocal range, but it is a lot of work splitting the guitar into two parts,” he answered.
“Yeah. We’ve changed things up a few times, but adding harsher vocals like yours would be a huge step. I do some already, but nothing more than a simple growl. So, if we really want to take that step, a lot of work is gonna have to go into this.”
“Do you have someone in mind? Or do you just want to add the more concentrated sound of a melodic guitar?” I thought about it for a minute.
“No, and I highly doubt Finn would want to learn to switch to pure rhythm. Not that he’s bad at it, but he really enjoys what he plays now,” I look over at him with a smirk, “I mean, would you be mad if I stole Andrew? He might even like my vocals more than you.”
He let out a loud laugh and swung his arm over my shoulders and pulled me in to his side. I giggled and looked up at him as we paused on our walk. He looked down at me with a smirk.
“You wish,” was all he said before he let go and continued walking, picking up speed to make me catch up to him. But that’s when something caught our eye. A flash. Fuck.
We both pause and glance towards the direction it came from, seeing a man holding a camera in our direction.
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” I mumbled. He let out a sigh.
“Let’s just head back to Dave’s. There’s nothing out here for us to do anyway.” And with that, we turned around and retraced our steps, making our way back.
Tumblr media
“You’re back again? Don’t you have a band to be spending time with?” Austin teased with a fale scowl as we walked into the house.
“Of course I do. It’s your band!” I joked back. He laughed and rolled his eyes.
“What? Will didn’t tell you guys? You’re getting a second, better vocalist!” I continued, putting my hands on my hips to look confident. Will softly pushed me while laughing, making me stumble and giggle as I walked over to the couch and sat down with everyone.
Will walked past us into the kitchen, and I started chatting with everyone there. I’ve gotten surprisingly comfortable with them after they helped me with my vocals earlier, so I wasn’t as nervous to be around them anymore.
Will came back out and handed me a drink. I didn’t know what it was, so I gave him a slightly suspicious look as I took a sip. I made a face, not expecting it to be a vodka cranberry, but it was still really good. He chuckled at my face before sitting down next to me.
“Oh so first she steals clothes, and now she’s taking our drinks?” Adam joked. Ever since this morning, they’ve been messing with me all day, but I loved it. It was like I was back with my own boys again.
I looked at him confused, before remembering that I was still wearing Will’s hoodie, so I set down my drink and took it off, handing it back to him.
“No, you didn’t have to. I’m fine,” he said, trying to push it back to me.
“Well, I don’t really need it anymore, and I don’t wanna accidentally wear it home,” I persisted, trying to give it back. He grabbed it and sat it between us.
“I’ll keep it here if you need it,” He spoke softly as he leaned back and turned his attention towards the guys.
I just shook my head with a small laugh before grabbing my drink, taking a sip, and doing the same.
The guys and I all chatted for a few hours, the alcohol making Will and I a little more loose-lipped as the night went on, him even making us more drinks. They asked me questions about my band and how the tour was going. I may have been a little too honest, but it didn’t affect them. I even asked them for advice on the best course of action on drastically changing the sound of our music, now that I was getting more comfortable with the thought of it. They gave really good advice, but a lot of it was that I had to talk to my own bandmates about it, which made sense.
After we were a few drinks in, Will leaned his head on my shoulder as we all talked. He was still awake, the alcohol seemingly making him want to get comfier, and if I learned anything the past two days, it was that Will was a cuddler. He loved physical touch, and the closer to you, the better, so I wasn’t shocked when he eventually sank into the couch, cuddling into my side as we all chatted. And I knew it was normal when the rest of the guys didn’t even blink an eye at it.
Though, after some time, he became dead weight against me, and when I looked over, I saw that he was out like a light. I did my best to keep the conversation going, but between the warmth of his body heat and the alcohol, I felt my eyes getting heavier.
The rest of the guys started to notice, so they eventually excused themselves to either head to bed or hang out somewhere else, saying they didn’t want to wake him.
With that, I leaned my head on Will’s and eventually slipped into a deep sleep.
Tumblr media
I woke up to the feeling of someone looming over me, so with a scrunched face, I opened my eyes and saw Moke and Austin looking at Austin’s phone, giggling about something. I tried to raise an arm to rub my eyes, but realized they were stuck. Looking down, I saw that at some point in the night, Will and I had laid down, and now he was sprawled out on top of me, practically pinning me to the couch. He was still completely out, just pure dead weight on top of me.
A yawn escaped my lips, making the two goofballs aware that I was now awake, and they giggled down at me.
“What are you two idiots up to?” I softly asked, my voice coming out harsh and raspy, either from the alcohol or the fact that I don’t think I shut up for a single second yesterday.
Austin turned his phone around with a mischievous grin on his face, showing me that he had taken a picture of Will and me and posted it to his story, captioning it, “These two don’t know how to party.”
I finally managed to slide a hand out from between Will and I and reached for his phone, wanting a closer look. I couldn’t tell from my angle, but Will was completely intertwined with my body. Our legs looped around each other and I was using one of his arms as a pillow as his other arm draped across my chest. He was using one of my tits as a pillow, which made me giggle. We were both out cold, Will’s mouth slightly agape as if he was snoring. I gave the phone back to Austin after rolling my eyes.
“So, am I just stuck like this now?” I ask the two, making them chuckle.
“Yep. He can sleep for a whole day if he’s comfortable enough, so good luck!” Moke responded. I almost let out a groan, but didn’t because I would feel bad if I woke him.
“So I’m trapped under a dead body and you two are just taking pictures? What the fuck?” I teasingly whisper yelled. They both walked away with suppressed giggles, leaving me to wait for Will to wake up.
With my now free arm, I searched around me, trying to feel if there was anything for me to entertain myself with. My body was hanging ever so slightly off the edge of the couch, so I had a feeling my phone slipped out of my pocket at some point in the night. I couldn’t move my head, or any other of my body for that matter, but thankfully my hand finally touched the cold screen and I did my best to grab it with a contorted arm.
I turn it on after finally picking it up, and saw that it was already noon. The guys and I were up for a while last night, so I’m not too shocked that we slept this late, but it felt weird that I had spent more time with Will than anyone else this whole break. But at the same time, I didn’t care. I literally live with three of them and I’m going to be spending the next almost three months with the other five, and this will be the only time I’ll get to spend with Will for who knows how long.
Maybe I could see if my boys wanted to hang out with the Lorna Shore boys. I would invite everyone else, but with everything happening, I haven’t been too close with any of them lately. I’ll mention it to Will later.
I finally open my phone and click on the messages I saw that I had. There were a few from my boys, telling me that they missed me and they wished I was partying with them and everyone else. I wish I was too, but with the state that my life was in right now, I’d much rather spend my time with the person who was most unrelated to the tour and everyone in it. I couldn’t be more thankful to have run into Will. He was everything I needed at this time. Someone who brought excitement into my life, distracting me from everything else. Someone who, even though it was a terrible mistake, managed to heal a small part of me the other night. A healing intimate encounter, proving that not every man I got this close with in my 20s was going to hurt me in some way. Purely a quick rebound that we both agreed wouldn’t affect anything, followed by getting an insane amount of support in both my music and with the stress that this whole fiasco has caused. And a new friend. An amazing friend. He was so different from anyone else I had in my life at the moment that it just felt so good to be around him, especially because he came with a completely different friend circle, so I could have peace from everything while still being social.
I know what I did was terrible. While it wasn’t like I cheated on Noah, I already feel so much guilt everyday since our fight at the bar, so knowing I may possibly be making the tension across the bands even worse kills me. But the truth is, I just don’t think my brain and body knew how to handle having a friend like Will in my life at first. Sure, Finn is one of my biggest supporters, but since the day I met him, all those years ago, he’s been nothing but a brother to me. And my brain just couldn’t see Matt as any different. Yeah, we pretended to like each other, just to piss people off, but my mind instantly added him into the same category as my bandmates.
But meeting Will was completely different. Not as different as meeting Noah, that’s for sure, but he was the first guy I’ve met that I just instantly felt completely comfortable with. Apparently so comfortable, I let him see me naked within the first few hours of meeting. But I don’t see him as a future partner or even a regular fling or anything like that. We both just misunderstood our intimate connection at first. He has so much love in his heart that I can’t even blame myself for instantly searching for a way to feel it more. While I should’ve just earned it by being his friend, seeing as he treats everyone with this amount of love and support, I think I just really needed someone like him at this point in my life to show me an abundance of it for a night. Now that I’ve gotten it, I feel like something in me is slowly healing.
And even now, something in me slowly heals as I feel his breath against my chest as he sleeps. The overwhelming comfort of being this physically close to someone and being able to enjoy it platonically. I know fans are having a field day with this, and I know that if any of my band mates or any of the Bad Omens boys see the picture on Austin’s story or from the paparazzi last night, it’s most likely going to cause problems, but for once, I don’t want to have something be a problem. It will be rare to see Will after this week, so I’m going to soak in his comfort and support until I’m forced back to reality and have to deal with life by myself, including explaining myself to the others.
I did my best to text them back, having to type with one hand that was hovering unsupported over my face and still deep in thought over how insane my life has been recently. But the movement from the heavy weight on my body almost made me drop my phone on my face.
Will shifted in his sleep, turning slightly and pulling himself closer to me. He dug his face between my shoulder and neck, probably shielding his eyes from the light that shone through the living room windows. I close my phone and set it on my chest, not wanting to drop it and scare him. He let out a tired groan as he stretched and pulled closer to me, and I couldn’t help but giggle at the tickle of his face and breath on my neck.
He paused for a second once he heard it, finally realizing the position he was in, before giggling with me.
“Good morning,” his groggy voice spoke into my neck, tickling me even more, making me squirm and try to pull away at the feeling.
“Good morning, dead weight.” I exaggeratedly huffed out. He lifted his face and looked at me with half lidded, tired eyes and a cheeky grin before trying to push himself off of me without hurting me.
I took an exaggerated deep breath as I sat up, teasing him. He shook his head with a smile and yawned.
“By the way, I think Austin might be worse than paparazzi,” I said as I stretched, needing to loosen my cramped muscles from not being able to move them all night.
He gave me a confused look, so I told him to check Austin’s story. He took a minute to search for his phone. Finally finding it between the couch cushions, he typed in Austin’s username and checked, immediately laughing.
“Everyone’s gonna think we’re dating,” he chuckled, rubbing his face.
“I’ve never cared about fan speculation since they’ll grasp onto anything these days, but this is probably gonna cause some issues for my situation if I don’t clear the air.”
“Yeah..” he dragged out, “I mean, it’s no problem for me. If anything, this will definitely help keep the fan’s eyes off of you and Noah until you get everything situated.”
I thought about it for a moment, and he was right. Fans love digging into our personal lives, so if there wasn’t a distraction, I know rumors and stories would spread over how they see Noah and I interact. Hell, there's fans who think I’m with all of them, even my bandmates, so if they just focused on my so-called ‘relationship’ with Will, I won’t have to worry about them constantly talking about Noah and me.
“Honestly, this may help a lot of issues. As long as I inform mine and his band what’s actually happening, this will save us from a lot of heat on the internet.” I said after a few moments, “Oh! Speaking of, are you busy today?”
He thought for a moment, trying to get his tired brain to run its gears.
“Not that I know of, but I can also ask the guys,” he finally answered, suppressing a yawn.
“Would you be down to meet my boys? I just feel bad that I’m gonna be spending more of our break with you and not with them.” He let out a sleepy giggle after thinking about it for a second.
“Or, you can always just hang out with them? Without me?” he teased. I felt a blush creepy up to my cheeks, but not before playing it off and faking a gasp.
“You don’t want to hang out with me anymore?” I pulled an exaggerated pout. He instantly rolled his eyes with a tired smile.
“You know that’s not what I meant,” He said lazily, making me laugh.
“I’m kidding. I just figured that I’d hang out with you until you kicked me out since I probably won’t see you for a while after this, and the boys would love to meet you and possibly the rest of the band if they’re down.” A frown creeped up on his face as I spoke.
“Wait..You’re right. I won’t see you after this,” he whined, “Yeah, I’ll ask the guys if they wanna join, but I’m not letting you leave until you’re getting on that damn tour bus.”
“Does that mean you’re joining me when I go back to the hotel to change?” I asked, laughing.
“Yes.” he stated, bluntly, making me laugh more.
“Okay, let me text the boys, and then we can head over,” I chuckled out. He nodded and stood to go talk to his bandmates as I grabbed my phone and texted Finn.
Y/N- On a scale from 1 to 10, how excited would you and the boys be to hang out with Lorna Shore today?
Finnegan- ASKING THEM NOW OMGOMGOMG
I shook my head and laughed at his text. Finn wasn’t as big of a fan of them as I was, but when I played their music enough, you can’t not enjoy it a little. But then, I realized I may have to clarify something.
Y/N- I feel like this may be obvious, but this invitation is for you three only. I’m not in the mood for awkward conversations right now❤️
Finnegan- 🫡 Yes, maam
Y/N- …maybe Matt can come, too
Finnegan- He’s not at the house right now, so you should text him
Y/N- will do. I’ll let you know where we’re meeting up. Give me like 2 hours to head back to my hotel and change
Finnegan- 👀 so you spent the night?
Y/N- IN A HOUSE FULL OF 5 OTHER GUYS SO SHUT IT
I laughed as I closed out of our chat and opened Matt’s. I sent him a text, but he didn’t immediately respond, so I just closed my phone and got all my things together and waited for Will so we could head back to my hotel.

Spotted Injury
Gi-Hun + In-Ho
Tumblr media
(NOTE: this is... my first ever actual tk fanfiction. i'm so sorry if it's bad. please try and reblog/like if you can!!)
Summary : After a brutal round of the Mingle game, due to Gi-Hun's clumsiness, he gets hurt in the chaos. Spotted by In-Ho, he tries to help his friend somehow... but comes across a surprising discovery...
═════════════════════════════════════════
Mortifying. That’s the word that could describe the last game. Mingle: If you weren’t fast enough or didn’t have the correct number of players in one of the many rooms before the countdown ended, you’d be shot dead in cold blood.
Thankfully, Gi-Hun managed to make it into a room at the last second, but due to his clumsiness, he accidentally scraped his leg against the doorframe as he ran inside the many rooms. It left him huffing in pain, but not wanting to worry anyone, he quickly masked it.
He couldn’t mask the fact that he was limping everywhere he went, but he managed to limp into the main dormitory; he saw many grieving players, one of which was Hyun-Ju. She was staring at the wall with no emotion on her face. Gi-Hun wasn’t exactly close to Hyun-Ju, but he lost many friends to these games before, so he knew her pain.
Gi-Hun tried to walk to his team without trying to draw attention since he knew he was hurt and getting everyone worried about him was the last thing he wanted to do. Of course, In-Ho noticed almost immediately before everyone else did.
He managed to limp over to his bed, sitting down with a sigh. At first, In-Ho decided not to say anything, but as the day continued, and as mealtime came around, he took his tray, and walked over to Gi-Hun’s bed, sitting beside him without a word.
“Gi-Hun.” In-Ho greeted, glancing at him briefly before looking down at his tray, and beginning to eat.
Gi-Hun glanced to the side, and seeing his friend who he called Young-Il, he smiled, although - It was apparent that it was forced, and In-Ho knew that. “Hey, Young-Il.” He replied, the stinging in his leg doing nothing to help him keep his act together.
In-Ho’s eyes narrowed as he glanced down Gi-Hun’s leg, then back up at his eyes.
“I noticed you were limping earlier… any particular reason why?”
In-Ho’s question seemed genuine..
“Oh.. Me? Yeah.” Gi-Hun paused, glancing away before continuing his sentence. “I’m fine… I just scraped my knee a bit when we were playing mingle… That’s all.”
Hah.. As if In-Ho would believe any of that. The stoic man scoffed, putting his plate of food to the side. “Really? You’re fine? You can’t even stand to get a plate of food.” In-Ho retorted, which Gi-Hun just let out a chuckle. “I’m fine, Young-il... Really.” Although he tried to deny it, with every movement, the pain in his leg just got worse.
In-Ho’s eyes narrowed once more, not believing Gi-Hun for a second. He let out a sigh, leaning back against the bedframe of Gi-Hun’s bed.
“If you’re hurt, you should say something. Your injury could affect the upcoming games.”
Once In-Ho said that, Gi-Hun glanced back at him. “I just scraped it a little… I’m sure I’ll be fine.”
God… Gi-Hun loved to make things difficult, huh?
In-Ho gave him a skeptical look, clearly not buying his excuse. He rolled his eyes, a hint of annoyance crossing his features.
“You’re not fooling anyone. You’re limping. I’ve seen how you walk normally and this isn’t it.”
He sighed, his gaze now focused on the injury.
“Show me.”
In-Ho’s tone made Gi-Hun know that it was a demand and not a request.
With a sigh, he pulled up his pant leg, revealing a bigger scar than what he started with.
In-Ho let out an irritating sigh. He couldn’t help himself, grabbing Gi-Hun’s leg and putting it on his lap. Gi-Hun yelped in surprise. “H - Hey! What are you doing - ?”
In-Ho only shrugged, beginning to feel around the wound. “Getting a closer look…”
As much as Gi-Hun wanted to move away, he decided not to. He knew that In-Ho was right when he said that his injury may affect future games, so he decided to roll with it, letting the stoic man feel around the wound.
After a few moments of silence, Gi-Hun was about to speak again but suddenly yelped once he felt In-Ho squeeze his knee. The man immediately looked up at Gi-Hun.
“Oh… Did I hurt you? I’m sorry, I-” In-Ho was cut off by Gi-Hun, and his flustered state. “No - That didn’t hurt-” He paused, a bit of blush now apparent on his face. Was he really about to admit this? He’s a grown man for god's sake
“It just tickled… that’s all.” Gi-Hun muttered as he glanced away. “Oh.” In-Ho mused quietly, but inside, he was beginning to feel a bit amused. Really? This was the guy that won the games before? A man who couldn’t handle a simple squeeze? Managing to keep his calm complexion, In-Ho continued to feel around the wound, but this time… he purposefully began to squeeze around Gi-Hun’s knee/leg area, his subtle smirk widening at every muffled yelp that came from the older man.
At one particular squeeze, Gi-Hun bit the sleeve of his green tracksuit, and this is when In-Ho couldn’t keep his smirk hidden any longer.
“Okay - I-i think I’m fine n-nohohow -!” Gi-Hun tried to hide his smile with his sleeve, but In-Ho just raised an eyebrow, feigning complete innocence.
“No, you’re not. You got hurt, and I’m trying to make sure you haven’t irritated it further!”
Then, In-Ho began to squeeze the man’s knee ruthlessly.
Gi-Hun finally let out a burst of laughter before he could muffle it, now trying to pull his leg back. In-Ho smirked, taking his other hand and firmly trapping the man’s leg in his grasp. Without another word, he rolled up Gi-Hun’s pantleg even more to see his bare knee, before scraping and scribbling all five of his nails on it. To be honest, In-Ho had no idea someone could even become ticklish on their knees… till today.
Gi-Hun let out a high-pitched screech, falling back onto the bed; his head jerking side to side.
“Nohohoho!- Shihihihit!” As he cursed out in pure laughter, he tried to kick his friend with his other leg that was currently free, but thanks to In-Ho’s great reflexes, he managed to catch his flailing leg, now holding both of his legs hostage in the man’s grasp. He knew the other players were probably looking at them in confusion and awkwardness, but he honestly could not care less. Despite being the frontman of the games itself, he was playing the role of the concerned friend, and he owned that role with passion.
“Mm… I cannot believe a man who is this ticklish won the games before… I’m surprised to say the least.” He teased, deciding to switch it up a bit. He held onto Gi-Hun’s ankles, suddenly pulling him closer to him, managing to attack his ribs with as much force as he could muster. To say Gi-Hun squealed would be an understatement… the older man full-on screamed with laughter. I mean, In-Ho has seen some pretty ticklish people in his lifetime, but Gi-Hun takes the damn cake. The man let out a dark chuckle, all ten of his fingers now scribbling and drilling into Gi-Hun’s ribs.
“PLEHEHEHEASE-! IHIIHI CAHahAHNT- BREHheHEHEATHE!!”
Even as Gi-Hun begged, deep down he knew that he was enjoying this. It was a change to see someone who was usually so traumatized and strategic… laugh like this. God, this must tickle a shitload for the man to be screeching like a banshee. In-Ho let out another dark chuckle before finally deciding to stop, though his fingers were still hovering above Gi-Hun’s ribs in case he needed to strike again.
“If you allow me to bandage you without a fuss, I’ll let you go.”
At this point, Gi-Hun would do anything to stop the brutal tickles from his merciless friend.
“O-OhoOKay! Okay! Fihine..” Gi-Hun giggled, and that’s when In-Ho finally retracted his hands, a noticeable smirk on his face.
“Good choice.” He mused with a smile before finishing his sentence.
“And if you try to run, your ribs won’t be the only thing getting attacked, understood?”
Gi-Hun immediately nodded, understanding the ticklish gravity of the situation, and just like that, In-Ho left to go find some bandages.
God… tickling could be tiring, but honestly, it was a nice change of pace before the next round of the games started. Smiling to himself, Gi-Hun sat on his bed, awaiting In-Ho’s return.
Maybe… he isn’t so bad.

Tyler laid uncomfortably in his bed, running his hand over the cut on his head. He traced it lightly with his fingertips and it seared with pain when he did. It was throbbing and the pain killers weren't doing shit for him. This was the last time, he vowed, the last time he'd get staples in his head for riding a bull. The last time he'd get stitches for opening up his skin on a fence. The last time he'd get a cast or a sling for breaking something. This was it. He was done. He needed to do something else because now he'd lost the love of his life and his riding career was pretty much over. He wouldn't live long enough to do what he's dreamed of his entire life if he didn't stop.
But he hated all of that. And the part he hated the most was that he'd lost Georgia.
“Why'd she leave?” He asked, sitting up, while groaning in pain.
“All she said was she couldn't lose someone else. I didn't ask her what that meant. I'm so sorry T. She said she loved you.” Boone said, as he shifted in his chair. He knew the biggest thing his friend needed right now was support and it was kind of shitty that Georgia left. She’d probably even admit that. But as the days stretched on and Tyler became more cognizant of what his life was really going to be like for a long while, he even commended her for leaving.
“Well a lotta good that does me now!” He exclaimed, slamming a fist on the bed, Agony radiated throughout his entire body and he yelped.
“T, easy. Ya gotta chill.” Boone stood and made a calming gesture with his hands.
“Why Boone? I'm fuckin’ done. I can't walk. Can't go anywhere. What the fuck use am I now? I'm glad she fuckin’ left. She doesn't havta see me like this, all broken and fucked up.” Tyler said, laying back down. He huffed in frustration.
“T, seriously man. It'll be okay. Just gonna be a long road.” Boone said, fidgeting in his seat, uncomfortable at Tyler’s burst of anger. He’d seen the bull rider get mad before but not like this. There was a ferality in his eyes that Boone wasn’t sure he was okay with in that moment.
“Nah, Boone. This is dumb. I...I gotta find somethin’ else man...what am I supposed to do sittin’ in a fuckin’ bed rottin’ away.” Tyler shifted again, grabbing the cup of water from the tray in front of him and chucking it across the room. It landed with a splash and Tyler cried out in pain.
“Tyler...I'm sorry.” Boone didn’t know what to say or do to help his friend, so he decided just being there was going to have to be enough for now.
🌪️🛻🌪️
“FUCK THIS.” Tyler yelled, throwing the book he’d had his nose in for nearly three hours, across his room. It thudded against the wall and Boone ran up the stairs as quickly as he could. He’d been in the process of making his best friend lunch. Tyler was studying for an exam. A college exam. While he was laid up, he’d decided the best use of his time was to go to school. If he couldn’t exercise his body, at least he could exercise his mind.
“What’s wrong, T?” Boone burst into the room and saw Tyler wheeling his chair backwards.
“Fuckin’ cloud microphysics...pissin’ me the fuck off. I don’t get it.” Tyler said, slamming the wheelchair into the bed frame, the impact radiating up through the chair and into Tyler’s taxed body.
“Can you be a lil’ less aggressive with the chair, T? You’re gonna break it and need a new one.” Boone pulled the chair slightly away from the bed.
“Maybe if I fuckin’ break it they won’t give me a new one.” Tyler glared at him.
“Then how you gon’ get ‘round?” Boone asked, knowing what his friend was hinting at. He would have to let the therapist know.
“I won’t. I’ll just heal or I’ll die. Who cares at this point.” His statement hurt Boone to his core. He knew someone that would care, but damn if he knew how to contact her, He’d tried and it came up as an out of service number. Maybe she had to get a new phone. Maybe she changed her number on purpose. Maybe she stopped paying the bill. There were a million reasons but there was only one that he cared about. Boone was banking on her coming back at some point. It would help Tyler.
🌪️🛻🌪️
“You’re gonna graduate in that fuckin’ chair if you don’t start tryin’ a lil’ harder.” Jake said to his brother, offering an arm and that was it. He wanted Tyler to be rageful, so that he would try to stand and maybe punch him. But Tyler had become complacent and it killed Jake to see him this way.
“Do you understand how much pain I’m in?” Tyler asked, glancing at his brother before gripping tightly to his arm.
“I don’t give a fuck. Get up.” Jake scolded him and helped pull him to his feet. “You’re supposed to be trying to walk. Let’s go.”
“FUCK. It hurts, Jake!” Tyler yelped, nearly collapsing. Jake caught him and pulled him back up.
“I know it does but you have to try.” Jake said, helping Tyler straighten back up. “You wanna fuck a girl again?”
“I mean...yeah...” Tyler’s brows furrowed.
“Then you have to walk!” Jake exclaimed, pulling his hands away from Tyler. He wobbled as Jake backed away. “Walk to me.” Jake said, motioning for Tyler to go toward him. Tyler focused hard on Jake, taking a couple of heavy steps. He sighed and his breath shuddered. Jake stepped over and held his brother. “You’re okay, T. You’re okay.”
Jake knew he was struggling. Tyler had begun standing in physical therapy but he needed help at home with it. Boone had been able to for a while, but he also had to go back to work so he could make a bit of a living too. Jake had come back from a deployment just in time to help take care of Tyler.
Tyler couldn’t control his emotions. He began sobbing against Jake’s chest.
“I can’t do this Jake. I’m in so much pain. I just want to end it.” Tyler said between sobs and Jake guided him back to the bed. Tyler folded into his brother like a child, burying his face in his neck.
“You can’t, T. I need my wingman. You can get through this. I know it hurts. I can feel you shaking. But you’ve gotta push through. Its the only way those muscles are gonna come back.” Jake rubbed his brother’s back. Tyler’s muscles were spasming and he was sweating. He’d been in the wheelchair for so many months that most of his muscles had atrophied to a point where any physical activity was difficult. Tyler was thin and weak and it horrified Jake to see his brother that way.
“Jake...if I asked you..” Tyler began and Jake cut him off.
“I’m not helping you end it. I’m helping you live, T. Stop being selfish. You’ve been through harder shit than this. Pull yourself together. For me.” Jake and Tyler’s eyes met. “Do you still want to have a house, and the girl, and kids, and all of that? How you gonna get that  if you don’t get through this.”
“How can I have any of that...she left me.” Tyler said and Jake scoffed.
“She’s not the only girl in the world, T.” Jake said softly.
“No, but she’s the only one I want.” Tyler said.
“How do you know that?” Jake asked.
“When you know, you know. And I fuckin’ know.”  Tyler affirmed and Jake shook his head but then puzzled through a solution.
“Well then T, if she’s the only one for you and you know, then you gotta get her back. You gotta work to do that. She ain’t gonna want a fuckin’ cripple. And you can’t make babies and maintain a house and all that other shit like this. So pull yourself together and remember what you want. If you want all of that, then go get it. Make it happen. Get better so that you can have everything you want.”
🌪️🛻🌪️
Tyler had agreed to go on one date, set up by Boone with a girl from his Computer Modeling class. Talia was cute, a tiny blonde with glasses, little tits and a small ass. Not Tyler's type at all. There was only one girl that was his type.
The whole time he was at dinner with her he couldn't help but think of how different she was to Georgia. Tyler, being the stud he was, could barely see past her body. Sure she was smart, probably smarter than him, but all he could think of was what she'd be like in bed.
He had to get Georgia out of his head. But even as they headed back to her apartment, fumbling with the lock as they made out, Tyler thought of the beautiful blonde he'd loved before. Her curves, which this girl lacked. Georgia had perky, large breasts that fit perfectly in Tyler's large hands. Georgia had just enough around her hips that Tyler could grab on and not be worried he'd hurt her. Talia was all bones. And as he slipped the condom on and thrust inside the cute meteorology major, pain shot through his loins and immediately softened his length. He tried. He did. He just couldn't keep it up. By the time Talia orgasmed, Tyler's hips were screaming. He pulled out and panted and she went to the bathroom to rinse herself off.
He gathered his clothes from the floor, trashed the condom, dressed and left. He sat in his truck at home, rubbing one out to an interview that Georgia had done for the NFR. He couldn't believe himself and how low he'd stooped.
Tyler would pick a bottle of whiskey, vodka, or rum, sit out in a wheatfield at night in the back of his truck and drink himself to sleep. He’d look up at the sky, pray to God and the heavens above that Georgia would come back some day, but the alcohol always left him with no hope for that and a hell of a hangover in the morning.
🌪️🛻🌪️
He had an impressive archive after four years. Every run, every pickup, every exhibition, every interview. Even the silly English show she'd done. Gee looked damn good in breeches, he admitted. That was the only thing that had gotten him through school and his recovery, was being able to watch her succeed time and time again. But every time he went to comment on a post or DM her, his thumb would hover over the button and he just couldn't bring himself to send it.
He'd struggled with pain management throughout those four years, attempting to end his life twice because it had become unbearable. There were days that he woke up and could barely move. Then he had really good days where he'd thought maybe he'd hop on a horse at the local arena and rope the dummy a couple times.
He'd been building a truck to start storm chasing. Boone had helped and they were looking for a team. They'd started a YouTube channel, he and Boone getting some wild chase videos. The one that went viral and put them on the map was just outside of Tulsa, after Tyler had installed the augers on the truck and they tested them for the first time.
It had been a long time coming, but that was really when Tyler began praying hard. Tyler would go out to some different wheat field, now only once a week and polish off a bottle of whiskey or rum, whatever he had on hand, and lay in the bed of his truck, mumbling to God and the heavens above about how he just wished he could have her back. He just wished she'd come back around and they could forget the past four years and go back to what they had. Tyler just wanted her.
He was tired of the girls throwing themselves at him. Tired of taking them out and trying to learn what they liked and didn't like when he already knew Georgia. He didn't want some other girl. And he was tired of the meaningless sex. They only wanted to bang him so they could say they'd slept with a famous youtuber. He should be sponsored by a condom company with how many he used over the course of the four years. He was so done with girls trying to get in his pants that he started letting Georgia's name come from his lips as he came, if he came. He didnt give a fuck anymore. Sure, he felt bad when it happened, and he apologized but he just couldn't take it anymore. He was done with other girls. Time to focus on his career, which was on an upswing that he couldn’t deny.
🌪️🛻🌪️
She was miserable. She was burnt out. Exhausted. She'd run every bit of ground at every single rodeo in the country over the course of four years. And she still thought about Tyler every single day. He weighed heaviest on her mind. He was the piece pushed far in the back that pulled at her subconscious.
“What's wrong, sweets?” Skylar or Beau or Johnny or any of the hundred other bull riders or ropers would ask her, knowing she was distracted and Georgia would just shake her head. He didn't care. Not like Tyler did. No one cared like Tyler did.
And not one of these guys could give her release like Tyler could. Skylar thought he was God’s gift to women, and was always too rough, making her sore afterwards. She’d fucked around with Johnny a couple times and he was too boring. Beau was too wild, too erratic, barely could get her off, so she made it very clear she wasn’t interested in him. There was a guy that had come close to Tyler, but for whatever reason she would always go back to Skylar. Maybe she felt like she needed the punishment. She felt like she deserved to be in pain.
When Georgia saw the Tornado Wranglers channel for the first time come across her YouTube suggestions, she gasped. He looked just the same as he had, but a little older. More mature, but still playful at heart. The banter between him and Boone made her smile. She watched every livestream that she could. And then when the channel hit a million subscribers, Georgia wanted to message him and congratulate him but she couldn't.
With Tyler's YouTube fame, she figured she would be as insignificant as any random fan that messaged the channel. He wouldn't recognize her. She fucked up. Now she had to live with that.
So she did the only thing she could do. Continue on.
🌪️🛻🌪️
She’d gotten a call from her mother, saying that she wanted help moving down to Florida. Eleanor didn’t want to deal with tornados anymore. Emmaleigh didn’t have time to help her with everything she and her husband were doing.
So on the day, when Georgia brought the mares back home, let them out into the field by the barn and set up their stalls, it was her mother who came out to the barn for once.
“Hi honey.” She said softly, taking her daughter in a weak hug.
“Hi momma.” Georgia said. They watched the mares for a moment and then her mother spoke.
“Came to bring me down to Florida?” She asked and Georgia shook her head. “And then what’ll you do after?”
“Probably come back here. I got a job offer from one of the local weather stations for camera work. Met one of the meteorologists while I was on the road.” Georgia explained, moving her tack into the barn.
“Yeah? That sounds good. No more competin’ then?” Eleanor asked, as the mare ran back towards the barn. She reached out to rub Twist, who nickered softly to her. Georgia threw a couple apples on the ground under the fence for the mares and then folded her arms across her chest.
“Momma. I need a break. I’m exhausted.” Georgia said, her tone flat.
“I don’t think you’ll get much rest chasin’ storms either, sweetie.” Eleanor rubbed a hand over her daughter’s back and then glanced back at the truck and trailer.
“Maybe I'm hoping to find something or someone else while I’m doin’ it...” Georgia murmured as she began to walk back to the truck. Eleanor walked with her and spoke even softer then.
“Tyler.” She said and Georgia stopped dead in her tracks. Even after four years, she didn’t think her mother would remember him, but she did.
“Momma I know what you’re gonna say.” Georgia leaned against her truck for a moment. Eleanor put her hands on her hips.
“All I’m gonna say is if that’s what you want...be prepared for him to not want you back honey. You know what you did. I love you. I do. I always will. But I also know that you know that boy deserves more than you gave him.” She said, then heading into the house, leaving Georgia to think about what she said. Her mother’s words stung and brought tears to Georgia's eyes. She was right. Why would she ever think Tyler would want her back after what she did to him?

A Perfect Carrier
Word count: 2363
He watched his carrier pace around the bedroom. Her belly swayed heavily in front of her with each step. It was way too massive for her body with 4 babies inside it. Her labor had started hours ago with just a few small contractions every so often. It very quickly became long painful contractions that only got worse with time. The breeder of the house smiled as he watched his carrier bend over and grip the bed frame signally the next contraction.
“How long has it been?” She asked. She started to pant after that, swinging her hips around at the same time to gain some relief.
“12 hours,” He responded. He moved to the end of the bed to get a better view.
His carrier’s panting slowed with the end of the contraction. She leaned against the bed and tried to recover some of her energy. She already looked exhausted and this was still only the beginning of the birth.
“They don’t feel like they’re moving at all,” She whined.
“I’m sure they’re coming. This can sometimes take some time,” He said, trying to comfort her.
-
His carrier was now on her hands and knees next to the bed crying out in pain. Her massive belly grazed the floor as she crawled along.
“How long has it been now?” She asked, her words now mumbled together due to her exhaustion.
“20 hours since it started,” he replied. He had been enjoying the show since it started. He took breaks occasionally but was never away for long. He was thoroughly enjoying her show.
She let out a sob as the next contraction started up, “I can’t…”
She put her head down and let out a whine as her body began twitching from the pain of the contraction. She gripped the carpet underneath her and swayed her hips. She panted through it best she could, her rhythm off from the pain.
“You can,” He said, encouraging his carrier. He reached down from the bed and rubbed her back. “You already are. You can’t stop now.”
-
He held her close as she let out a scream, almost collapsing in his arms. He was leading her down to the basement for the final bit of her birth. Her legs were weak from being in labor so long. She could barely stand let alone walk down stairs.
Still, he made her get up and travel down the two flights of stairs to the birth cage in the basement. It was fully fitted with birthing equipment, a birthing stool, a bed, a medical bed with stirrups, and a birthing pool. Halfway down the stairs to the basement she started having a contraction. He held her tightly and continued to move her down the staircase.
“Please,” she cried out, not sure if it was to him or the baby’s.. “Wait…”
Her pleas didn’t matter, the baby continued to move down and her breeder kept her moving. The head now wedged itself even further down her birth canal. She struggled even harder with the stairs now that the baby was threatening to open her up and come out. Her breeder didn’t stop her from defending the stairs. He continued to pull her along until they were at the very bottom of the basement stairs.
Only then did he let her take a moment to get through a contraction. She screamed and tried to breathe through it. Her legs tried to close underneath her as she struggled to keep the baby inside. She knew it didn’t do much but she could at least try. Once her breeder knew the contraction was ending he pulled her along once more. He led her into the cage and shut the door behind them, locking it as he did so.
He let go of her fully once the door was shut. Her legs gave out as soon as she lost support. He watched her fall to the ground, her belly now sticking out in between her legs. She tried to move, with no luck. She was stuck on her butt with her belly holding her in place.
“How long has it been since my contractions started?” She asked her breeder.
His smile grew twice as wide with excitement when he answered, “it’s been 30 hours, my perfect carrier.”
She moaned with the next contraction and looked up at her breeder. She tried to push but her opening was flat against the ground. The baby couldn’t come out no matter how much she pushed.
“The first one is ready to come out,” She says desperately looking up at her breeder.
He nods his head in understanding, “then let’s get you in place.”
He helps her up to a stand position. This time he held her belly, which was significantly lower, and led her to the stirrups. They struggled to get her inside it. Her massive belly getting in the way a few too many times. Finally they had her laying back, pinned by her belly, and her feet in the stirrups.
“It’s coming…” She cries out. Her belly visibly contorts and she starts to push.
Her breeder is between her legs watching her already spread open lips stretch further before closing back up and pulling the baby back inside.
“It’s almost here. I can see the top of the head,” He says to her.
“It’s too big…” His carrier moans out. She takes a deep breath and pushes hard despite her complaints.
From between her legs, the baby's head peaks out again, this time it stays out. It was just the beginning of the head but it already looked big. She only took a short break between contractions. As soon as the next contraction started she was pushing.
“Come on out… please baby… come out,” She begged, as she pushed again and again.
After what felt like hours but was really a few minutes, the head was finally at a full crown. She could barely breathe through the pain of the massive head stretching her lips apart like this. She let out a sharp gasp before barring down again. The head slid forward slowly before bursting free with a gush of fluid.
The breeder looked up at his carrier, “just one more push, come on.”
With the next contraction she pushed hard. The baby's shoulders get stuck for only a moment before sliding free. Followed by the rest of the baby.
“You did it!” The breeder cheers.
He held up the baby for the carrier to see. He offered her to hold it for a while as he cleaned her and the baby up. It was as he reached for the baby a finally time to swaddle it, he saw her flinch in pain and a trickle of fluid came out of her once again.
“The second is so soon?” She said in shock and defeat. “I didn’t even get to nurse the first one.”
She didn’t have time to complain much more. A contraction started up and caused her to grip at the sides of the bed and breathe through the pain. She shook her head as the contraction reached its peak, trying to help with the pain.
The breeder quickly moved the first baby and started to focus on the second. He looked at her already stretched pussy and saw the head just inside it.
“It’s coming!” He said, encouragingly. “Keep pushing.”
“I’m trying,” She let out a whine at the end.
The next contraction had started up. She tossed her head back and pushed. He watched as the baby moved closer to the opening. She pushed again and the head began to budge the skin out. Even with her pussy stretched out once before the head still started to form the teardrop shape as it emerged.
“It’s almost out…” The carrier cried out.
She pushed again and this time the head popped free. She took a shaky breath while she waited for the next contraction. When the next contraction came she pushed again. The baby moved forward it’s shoulders making their way out. Then with one last push and a grunt the rest of the baby slid out.
Just as before, the breeder grabbed the baby and handed it to his carrier. She held the baby’s close. While he cleaned her and the baby up. He barely got to swaddle the baby before his carrier was moaning.
“Can I move to a new position?” She asked. Her voice is weak from exhaustion.
“Yes. Let's get you laying down,” The breeder said. “You seem like you could pass out at any moment”
He placed the second baby in a crib. Then turned his attention back to his carrier. He helped move her legs out of the stirrups. When she stood up she had to hold onto the stirrups and her breeder to not fall over. He gripped her waist, which was easier now that her belly was slightly deflated, and led her to the bed.
“It’s… coming….” She announced, weakly. They still hadn’t made it to the bed.
She cried out and clung to her breeder as she pushed standing up. He encouraged her to keep the baby inside. Even with the harsh contractions, it was only a few more steps before the bed. She panted through it. Her legs were barely holding her up.
At least, she stood next to the bed and panted through the last of her contractions. When it finally subsided, her breeder lowered her onto the bed. She grunted as she felt the weight of her babies on her back. She barely had time to get comfortable before the next contraction started. She grabbed the back of her knees and pulled them up, pushing at the same time. She let out a scream as the baby started to approach her opening.
“I’m already so sore. It hurts too much” She cried out. The head just started to push against her already abused and stretched pussy.
“You can do it! Don’t give up yet you still got one more after this,” He says, reminding her she’s not even close to being done.
“There’s still another after this…” She groaned, already pushing again.
He moved to position himself between her legs again so he can monitor her progress, “It looks like the head is just starting to come out…”
She continued to push through a few more contractions. The head began to slowly get pushed out of her. She pulled her legs back further. Her hands gripping her legs hard. She screamed as the baby slipped further and further out of her. Each little bit caused a new round of screams. Finally, she gives one last big push and the head rushes out. She falls back and tries to catch her breath. The next contraction she focuses all her effort to push the rest of the baby out.
“Good job,” her breeder says. “Just one more.”
She nods weakly. She just starts to reach out for the third baby when her belly clenches and the next contraction is already running through her. She grabs at the bed sheets and cries out. Her legs fall open and she’s already pushing.
Her contractions were now relentless. The final baby was making its way down fast from how frequently she was pushing. She arched her back and screamed with each one. Then falls back on the bed, exhausted, waiting for the next
“I can see it but it’s still very far up inside you,” Her breeder said. His face was between her legs again monitoring her progress.
She whined with the next contraction but had no choice but to keep pushing. It was contraction after contraction, at this point she almost never stopped, her body was desperate to get this last baby out.
She weakly pushed again, her abused body collapsed onto the bed. “I can’t do it… it’s so much bigger”
“Yes you can. It’s the last one,” her breeder said, trying to keep her pushing. “You have to keep pushing. I know you’re tired but the baby has to come out.”
She looked like she was about to cry but kept pushing anyway. The head of her last baby was finally reaching her stretched out opening.
Her breeder held her legs open. He watched the head move out little by little. It was the largest baby by far. The head was stretching her pussy to the max. The skin was tight and looked like it was about to tear at any moment. Still his carrier kept pushing. She was only focused on getting this baby out of her. Her breeder suddenly reached up with one hand and held the head in place.
“You need to slow down and wait. You have to let yourself stretch out a bit or you'll tear,” His voice was stern from being filled with worry, But he still sounded apologetic.
“No. Please, it has to come out. It’ll be okay. Please,” his carrier begged. She tried to push again but the baby didn’t go anywhere.
“It’s okay. It’s just for a little bit longer,” Her breeder rubbed her deflated belly with his free hand trying to comfort her.
She whined and panted through a few more contractions. Each one making her even more desperate than the last.
After a while, her breeder moved his hand and looked at her nodding, “Push for me.”
She didn’t need to be told twice. She bore down with everything she had left and then head came rushing forward. She was now crying as she pushed again, the pain and exhaustion finally becoming too much for her. She let out a sob and pushed again, the head finally popping free with a gush of fluids.
“One more push…” She sobbed. “Just one more and it’s here.”
She let out a scream and pushed. The baby only slid partially out. She let out another sob before screaming again. This time the baby came. Her breeder caught it in his arms.
“You did it!” Her breeder said to her. “I knew you were the perfect carrier for me.”
She laid back on the bed. Her vision fading in and out as she finally relaxed.
