i hate HABIT fans so so much I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN IT because they like him in a way that is just WRONG.

Nobody ever has an understanding of his complex relationship with Evan and how the co-consciousness he has with Evan affects everyone and every thing. So many HABIT fans are just annoying minors who like him in the fakest edgiest way possible and dont enjoy him critically. The writing put into HABIT and his effects on the EMH Universe are SO in depth and theres literal hours on hours of his lore and hes such a villain that just witnessing HIM is enjoyable.

He's not just kill kill maim edgy cringe. He's a goofy goober sometimes but his unseriousness is integral to his character and shows how separate he is from human emotion and customs. Applying him to human moral standards and customs and seeing him as 'peak' edgy is so wrong when you could view him for what he is.

HABIT is a wolf in sheep's clothing, this THING lives for carnage and his own pleasures. He doesnt care about life, morals, politics- you name it. HABIT is animalistic, he dips in where he pleases and damages whatever he can get his hands on. He's literally "Mankind's Bad Habit," he is an entity built up on the inhumane and immoral actions and selfishness of humans.

HABIT has so much more to his character than just silly cannibal guy im so tired of people watering him down and not understanding that he is fully flawed and there is no fixing him.

Im just going to assume that people who only like him cause he's edgy are stupid idk. I cant take it anymore.

i still adore the headcanon that hoodie is pretty touch based when it comes to his partner, so as long as you tell him youre okay with him touching you when youre in a bad state, hes going to at minimum hold your hand

on the flip side if you dont want to be touched, hes going to be respecting that and keep his hands to himself

if you have any comfort items that hes aware of hes going to give them to you

if it makes you feel better, he may even take his mask off so you can better read him- he wants you to feel safe and at ease

will take you outside to get some fresh air as long as its not storming out

actually pretty good at enforcing grounding techniques for you when you inform him of them

hes less emotional and more.. logical... if that makes sense. he doesnt mean to be blunt or dismissive, hes just more of a reasoner than a comforter

does his best to relate to you when your anxiety flares up, tries to talk you through it to see if theres anything triggering it... and if its "just because", then he does what he can to get your mind off of it

learns what works for you and what your triggers are as time passes, reacts accordingly in order to make you feel better

if you have meds he makes sure you take them, also general hc he also makes sure youre not mixing your meds with anything that could cause issues (other meds, alcohol, ect ect ect)

has his own struggles himself, though a lot of it is internalized and/or met with rationalizing it; hence the potential coldness in that first line

I want to preface this by saying that Love is a complex feeling and I won't use the term in a strictly romantic way. That + Kaiser is a complex character and I think his actions can't be interpreted through Black and white lens. There's a lot of nuance in his actions and in his emotions and everything I will say is up to my personal interpretation of the character.

Now, to answer your question: yes.

Even present Kaiser is capable of love. Of course, he experiences it in a vastly different way compared to most people and wouldn't manifest affection in a "canonical" way.

Unfortunately, Kaiser has never experienced love, and he's well aware of that, so he has a hard time both to recognise, to express and to react to the emotion.

And he knows that. He knows that when someone tries to give him love, he reacts with violence, because he's only known violence since he was a child. See how he reacted to people being kind towards him for the first time. See how he called Ness "loser" the first time they interacted (and he was supposed to. charm and manipulate him lmfao-- I mean he still managed to do that but it's because he was lucky Ness as well doesnt know anything about love).

Now. Ness. Do I think Kaiser loves him? In his own twisted way, yes. He loves him like you love a pet. He loves him like he used to love his ball. He loves him like his dad loved Kaiser, with violence and control.

Violence is his safe place. So every emotion and feeling he experiences is perceived through violent lens, love included.

And I love LOVE that he is self-conscious enough to know it, yet doesn't have the neccessary means to not fall back into the same loop. At the same time, given the shit he went through, he's already doing amazing lmfao.

Also, I know I've already seen someone else state this but I unfortunately don't remember who it was, Kaiser probably projects onto Ness, the same way he projected onto that ball when he was a kid.

("You beat it up but he still comes back" -> does this imply that Kaiser had loved his father in some ways? Could be. There's lots of grief when it comes to suffering abuse from what was supposed to be your safe person. Kaiser is still in survival mode, which is very understandable, so I don't think he's gone through that part of the process Yet. Anyway.)

In therapy he could learn how to accept love and express it in a way that doesn't cause damage to other people.

Kaiser craves love but at the same time has a hard time receiving it. The fact he barely feels human doesn't help. He's so disconnected from his body and probably has an unstable image of self (look at the tattoos, his hair, etc. He wants to Represent something, he's trying to craft his own image and probably sees himself as a doll to dress up). He also. Doesn't really like himself in general lmao. So he would find it so hard to actually feel loved by someone.

He would also need to manually learn to be empathetic. He's already emotionally intelligent enough to know what to say to make someone feel a certain way, but for now he's just using it to manipulate/unsettle people in general. If he wants to reach his ultimate goal (which is to be actually loved) he needs to make the effort of not letting the mental illness take over.

It will be hard lmfao since he loves LOVES having power/control over people - it's safer this way, so I don't really blame him. You can't get hurt by someone if you control them, right? Right (Rip Ness). But he may eventually come around it in the name of the greater good.

Also!!! A thing he would do when it comes to a romantic partner is to follow the societal expectation but make it bigger. Kaiser would absolutely take inspo from romantic movies, and lowkey highkey use them as an inspiration to properly court someone.

He would do it more as a way to show off and mark his territory/scare away potential rivals. To him, courtship is a power-based game. He puts on a show and makes the effort to appear as the Best potential partner, but thats it. He wouldnt be too interested into actual dating. The chase and conquership of the final price is more thrilling than what comes afterwards. In my mind, he would be the type to flirt around, conquer his "prey", but never take them to bed. The ego boost that comes after knowing someone wants to fuck him has more value than actually fucking them lmao, and the power that comes off telling the person that he is not interested in taking them home? Yeah, that's another thing he would love.

Now, of course, in terms of both partnership and friendship, he may need to have strong-minded people by his side. People he can't manipulate and don't trigger his prey drive narcissistic tendencies.

Someone who doesn't people please and, most importantly, who can partially understand him. Kaiser would hate to feel vulnerable, and his defensive walls are all up high. He needs someone who acknowledges said walls but isn't necessarily interested in breaking in and waits for Kaiser to come closer at his own pace.

The person needs to be sonewhat caring, but not in a way that makes Kaiser want to take advantage of it. He wants to be taken care of, but babying him would be a mistake.

I think the only way to date Kaiser is to skip the dating part. No courtship, no games. At some point, he finds himself lounging in someone's livingroom and decides that the couch is too comfortable to leave. That's it.

At the end of the day, he is nothing but a cat.

What are your thoughts on the yorkshin arc? My main issue is the arc never really lingered on Kurapika's feelings that much. I honestly didn't feel much for it. We were shown how angry and vengeful he was, but we never really got to see or feel just how hurt Kurapika was over losing his family, friends and home.

Maybe it's my own perception problem. This may sound mean but Kurapika just seem to be this badass arrogant cold-blooded chain bastard. After killing Uvo, he remained stone-cold. He wasnt bothered. He doesnt feel guilty at all. Was he supposed to be like this in the manga?

I still like it overall but i kinda wish it was more emotionally compelling just as Chimera Ant Arc. Chimera arc was super long so it has it's highs and lows. But I would say the highs of Chimera ant are higher than Yorknew.

I love the York Shin arc tbh :)

I think it is not fair to compare it to the CAA, though, because imo its role in the narrative is more similar to the Zoldyck short arc for Killua, the Celestial Arena's arc for Nen, Greed Island for Gon and the Election Arc for Leorio. These are all set up arcs, where you are not expected to see all the conflicts solved.

The zoldyck arc introduces the main family members and dynamics, but it does not solve them

The Celestial Arena introduces nen, but it doesn't show its most interesting powers or applications

Greed Island sets up Gon's flaws, but it does not really deconstruct them

The Election Arc sets up Leorio's arc and potential as a politician, but it ends with Leorio losing the elections

Similarly, York Shin doesn't solve Kurapika's arc, but simply introduces its major themes together with the Spiders. It is the current arc (the Succession War Arc), that is supposed to give Kurapika and the Spiders the major characters development. Exactly like the CAA does for Gon and Killua. Notice, for example, that it ends in an anti-climax (like many HXH arcs that postpone conflicts). There is no final showdown between Kurapika and Chrollo, really.

That said, I disagree with with your reading of Kurapika as stone-cold. I would say the arc actually makes clear he is going through a huge emotional turmoil. Here are some examples:

Kurapika gets angry at Uvo and Pakunoda because they refuse to betray their comrades. That is because they go against Kurapika's ideas of the spiders as inhuman monsters. Senritsu even comments on this by saying how deep down Kurapika is starting to have doubts about his revenge, as he sees the spiders as humans.

He completely loses its cool and basically runs after them recklessly in a way that makes him easy to find. He is 100% ready to give in to his anger and to foolishly die in a 1 vs 3 fight. The only reason he survives is that Gon and Killua let themselves get caught.

In general, Kurapika is shown clearly suicidal, as he feels that without the Spiders he has no real reason to live. He even says so, which is why Gon telling him to look for his comrades' eyes helps him.

In the end, he temporally gives up his revenge to save Gon and Killua because he realizes that saving his friends that are still alive is better than avenging his dead ones. We even get a little foreshadowing of Pairo there.

Finally, Kurapika is so consumed by everything he literally sleeps for days and everyone is worried sick for him

So, his behavior is not really something I would call cold. Quite the opposite really. He is angry and desperate and at the same time the person he hates the most is really himself. So, he is sacrificing his life and his sense of self in a revenge, which will only lead to his death. I have written more about his arc here, if you are interested.

In short, I understand you expecting a more emotional narrative, but York Shin is not a climatic arc and in general Togashi's style tends to show in subtext much more than saying :) I am expecting more emotional outburst in the current arc, though, even if so far it is incredibly complex and a lot of time is given to explaining everyone's strategy.

i think what people tend to not understand about She-Ra (reboot) is that none of the characters (minus Horde Prime) are meant to be seen as pure good or evil. People get really pressed over how the princesses treat Entrapta (which i don't agree is right) or how Entrapta did betray them, thus making her a "morally grey character" because she has obsessions and shows signs of autism. But this isnt just something that happens with Entrapta, it happens with all of the characters. Catra and Glimmer are the next obvious, so i wont go into depth there, but for instance Adora can be very prideful. She lets the fame get to her head and isolates herself from everyone else in attempts to save the world. now, the latter isn't all her fault, Light Hope and Shadow Weaver made sure of that, but its still there. Mermista wants to be the center of attention, she wants to be the most powerful of the group and have something unique like She-Ra. Perfuma struggles to get along with people who are pessimistic or even more objective because it interferes with her "vibes." Scorpia isn't the greatest with boundaries, Frosta's a fucking child, Sea Hawk is a fucking arsonist (seriously why do we skip over that one? love him but my guy needs therapy), Angella is a coward who (despite her attempts to keep her away) sends her own daughter into battle before going out on the front lines herself, and yes, Entrapta betrayed her friends. Which, despite it being manipulated into something else here, wasn't good. She may not have understood how badly she hurt her friends (until S 5), but she actively knew that what Hordak was doing was wrong because she agreed to help the rebellion. She shows later on that while she doesnt pick up on emotional cues, she does understand what is going on, she just focuses on tech, but she gets the danger and the stakes, she knows. Let me say, however, that none of these traits, from any of these characters, make them "morally grey" (i hate that fucking term btw) it makes them human. none of us are perfect. we all have flaws, we will all hurt someone in our lives, we all make mistakes. it is how you try to rectify those mistakes, that determines whether or not your character is "good." Hordak, despite every terrible thing he did, realized he was wrong in the end, and rebelled. Entrapta apologized and sacrificed her life multiple times to save not only her friends, but the entire planet, even Shadow Weaver, who I could make a whole other separate post on, sacraficed herself so that not only Catra and Adora could live on together and save the world, but so that she wouldn't be tempted with the power that was about to be unleased. The only character i can possibly think of that doesn't have an obvious flaw (that i can see) is Bow, but he's not perfect either. To suggest so would to put in on a playing field in which no human (or complex character) could survive. So for the love of god, stop looking at it like Nate made only Entrapta "morally grey" because every character in that show made mistakes.

a few thoughts abt dazai + atsushi ^v^

this is going to be one of my first posted analyses! it doesnt cover everything abt atsushi and dazai's relationship, as their relationship is pretty complex and i cant really summon up all my thoughts, but this is some of what i see as the core parts of their relationship. this post is pretty open so add on your own analysis and whether or not you actually agree or disagree with the points i bring up here!

so, it sorta seems like atsushi is immensely unsure of his ability to evaluate dazai's emotions and understand him. however, he comes far closer to understanding dazai than some others in his life, simply by being exposed to a more emotional version of him, and lacking the precepts that those who knew him in the pm had. atsushi has always seen dazai as a person. although he initially idolized him to the point of seeing him as perfect, this has since been toned down and atsushi mostly sees dazai as simply an exceptional person that cares for him and that he admires. atsushi is a person who defaults to empathy for others and care for them, most of the time.

when atsushi sees dazai at odasaku's tombstone in dead apple, dazai prompts him to say what it seems like dazai is doing. atsushi says that he looks like he is visiting a gravestone. this surprises dazai because, well, visiting a tombstone is often synonymous with grief. something that is human beyond dazai's perception of himself and the perception of him that some in the pm had of him. teenage dazai was treated as a volatile hazard, and a genius harboring a deep darkness, but barely anyone saw him as being capable of things like true kindness, grief, love, etc. (by 'people in the pm' i generally mean people like dazai's underlings, yk, the pm grunts, not the people he actually knew)

but atsushi comes far closer than these people ever came to understanding dazai simply by acknowledging that dazai is a human being who feels and expresses grief in simple ways such as visiting a tombstone or recalling the dead.

this is one of my favourite facets of their relationship, because its this genuine kindness of atsushi that causes dazai to trust him and want him to grow up emotionally strong. dazai loves people who are kind, people who view human life as valuable, etc, and atsushi is these things. like a less mature version of dazai's favourite person, odasaku. and dazai wants to raise him right so that atsushi can grow up trusting in himself without losing his empathy and care for others.

in my eyes, dazai sees atsushi's combat ability and wants him to improve in that aspect, but what truly causes dazai's trust and commitment to atsushi is his kindness.

anyway, back to atsushi. it seems as though atsushi often finds dazai incomprehensible, but he sees dazai's capabilities as a person which earns atsushi's respect, and dazai's unconditional care for atsushi, always guiding him, always accepting him, is what makes atsushi so loyal to both him and the entirety of the agency.

in conclusion, atsushi and dazai both care for each other. atsushi wouldnt want anything bad to happen to dazai and vice versa. atsushi respects dazai, admires him, and loves him for his care for the agency and his skills. dazai loves atsushi's kindness and wants to foster it. they have a complex relationship not without its flaws (atsushi's over idolization of dazai, dazai's flawed handling of some of atsushi's emotions, etc) because it contains two flawed people. however, its foundations are that of care for each other, and so it is strong and can improve over time.

OK LMAO Here is my toxic confession.

So way back when I first started developing Ticci Toby for my AU I literally just projecting myself onto him so bad. And then. I projected people I knew IRL onto the other characters.

Like I write Clockwork based on my gf, I write Eyeless Jack, Brian, and Tim based on some friends I had in high school, I write Nina and Kate based on people I knew/know too. It switches around a bit who I base certain characters on (like Nina and Kate and characters Ive developed less) but the general rule of thumb is that I heavily project my IRL shit onto what I write for the Creepypastas, with fiction and source material in there obviously cuz theyre still just characters

BUT THEN. I ended up making Tobin. A self insert. And my gf made Tali. A self insert. (Once again with fiction shit mixed in for storytelling purposes) but then it created a dilemma for me cuz both Toby and Tobin were characters I projected onto. They were both an extension of me in a way.

And so when it comes to writing shit like Tobins interactions with the canon Creeps, it always ends up being how Id write Toby with those characters.

Tobin would be close friends with EJ cuz I base EJ off my best friend in HS. If they interacted Tobin would definitely try and get a reaction out of him but to no avail, and EJ would see him as a pet project, probably would mostly hangout when he was patching Tobin up after he got into shit. EJ would be a good, stable influence for Tobin

Tobin would beef with Jeff cuz I... Base Jeff off someone I hated in HS.... My bad... LMAOOOO Theyd always kinda compete with their egos in mind. He'd just hate Jeff's superiority complex like hes above everyone and he'd be grumpy as shit around him, always talking back, picking fights a bit, he just doesnt like him

And Tobin would be friends with Nina and Kate, cuz theyre characters I base off people I was friends with. He'd see Nina as a little sister type almost, and at some points he'd get frustrated with her and her attachment to Jeff, her boy issues, her emotions. They'd bicker like siblings too, he'd tease her a lot, but ultimately look out for her. Hes awkward when it comes to emotions, and Nina has intense emotions, so a lot of the times he doesnt know what the fuck to do, and probably gets pissy.

Tobin with Kate would be mad chill. He loves dogs, hes good with dogs, hes dealt with fighter dogs, and so when Kate becomes the Chaser and is just this animalistic beast of a girl, hes pretty good at "taming" her to an extent. I think they both understand what its like to be treated like something less than human. But for Kate herself, theyd be like stoner friends without the weed, mostly. Just chill, jokes around, Kate would probably randomly give him money cuz she has no use for it and I hc her love language to be gift giving, and Tobin would joke and call her his sugar momma.

I think the same would go for Tali/Clockwork but my gf made Tali into her own character more than I did with Tobin/Toby so a bit less there....

Tali would be fine with Jeff, but she listens to Tobin when he doesnt like someone so she wouldnt befriend him or anything. She would befriend Nina, if Nina bugged her enough. She has a soft spot for those girly girls that mean well. Tali would be chill with Jack, but not close with him, just appreciative of his maturity and how its like a breath of fresh air being around some nonhuman who acts more human than the freaks around her

All three Four Sword heroes prior to him were explicitly stated to be "young boys", and FSA manga Link is really no different in that regard—in the context of my own AU, he's actually the one who went on his adventure at the oldest age (with Smithy going on his around 8-9, Four going on his at 10, and Knight now going on his at 11). It's just been a shorter time since his adventure than it has been for the others ^^;

yoshiki's genuine relief over seeing that hikaru is ... "okay" (for him lol)

despite the fact that he was originally bitter that he took over ひかる's body hes still become attached to ヒカル. it could be said he has to be somewhat attached to him in some way bcus he took over ひかる's body, but at the same time i think as he grew to learn more abt ヒカル, he sees him seperate from ひかる and it has made him feel connected to him seperate from just being in the same body.

logically speaking, there was no real need to get concerned since ヒカル is a god and as weve already been told, he cant feel pain and has the ability to heal himself instantaneously. however, i think since yoshiki has been able to learn more abt ヒカル as a being. he knows that ヒカル wants to understand humanity, but since ヒカル doesnt fully understand humanity and society, hes relied on yoshiki to help him. ig you could say hes like a toddler but for some reason that feels like a half hearted way to explain it? i think its more complex than him simply "having the mind of a child"? like, he knows so much but he relies on his impluses as a... god? monster? divine being? of doing what he wants. like, if people pissed him off, he would just punish them by killing them or the like. however, hes not seen as a divine being anymore, hes like an undercover spy (lol) and isnt completely sure what his facade is supposed to do.

obviously, the mangaka has said he can't understand human emotions, and he doesnt have cravings/wants (not just emotionally but physically too. ex: they said he just eats bcus he feels like it, not bcus he has to). therefore, its harder for him to completely understand why ひかる did what he did or why anyone else is doing things. hes just been handed the lines but he doesnt know the plot. or vise versa! either way he only has the definition, but doesnt know how to use it? (sorry for all my analogies omg i just suck at wording things well without relying on them)

i could rant for ages but i just think their dynamic is so interesting

basic summary is that he and all other demon/most nonhuman creepypasta characters were made by zalgo in my funky au; basically to bring disorder and that kind of shit. but like in a "this is just a part of this universe's nature" way. thus making slenderman himself in my take the be a simple fact of life... thinks.. and he resents his own existence, i think. i mean how cruel is it that he was made to cause issues, in fact he cant live without it (eats people) but he was granted the ability to be able to grasp the complexity of morals and emotion. like thats fucked

anyways, theres that and him just naturally being reclusive! hell even his supposed "brothers" (splendor and trender, i refuse to touch the third one) hes still.. distant

basically what i mean to say is that you guys probably arent going to be.. outwardly close... if that makes sense. like hes not going to be very affectionate; so dont expect many familial... things... and its not often that he would seek conversation out... though

as i write that, if i recall correctly i did give him the vague craving of connection, and while i usually save that for traditional x reader stuff, i think this would still apply to found family stuff! so actually, i think he WOULD eventually start seeking your company out, just for the fact of having someone else to talk to who doesnt resent his existence the same way he resents his own

i headcanon that before the events of the game, pebbles and sig didnt get along super well, but it was more of a "haha teasing" kind of way. annoyances to lovers if you will. ragequit post-ingame-events is a lot more complex and would require both of them (though particularly sig) to work through a LOT of shit before an actual relationship could form or whatever. but my general idea for them is that sig and pebbles are kind of like, the babies of the local group. they're younger, their emotional AI is a lot more developed, and in terms of pebbles, painfully human to the point of self-sabotage. when they're feeling shitty, and just want to vent, they go to each other. that isnt to say that moon and suns dont do their best to help, but sig and pebbles understand how frustrating and honestly painful really, really feeling shit can be. moon and suns will often attempt to offer solutions (such as how suns doesn't go to comfort pebbles in the "bug" conversation from the game, they go to providing logical answers), whereas sig and pebbles will just let each other cry it out. there's less of a power dynamic between the two of them, sig is older but pebbles certainly doesn't respect her as much as he does suns, so its less..."embarrassing" to rant or break down to one another because their arent any expectations between them. this is partially how the rot au ends up happening lol

Sig has a billion nicknames for Pebbles, including: Pebbs, Pebbies, Peebs, "My grumpy little sunflower" (that one comes from the streamer au which is just. absolute chaos)

Sig is very touchy in general. He just. Casually puts a hand on Pebbles' waist, or rests her head against his shoulder, or gives him hugs as greetings, and Pebbles doesnt have to ASK her to! He hates asking for affection bc it makes him feel weak/vulnerable

Oh the bickering. The bickering is so cute. Sig pushes every single one of Pebbles' buttons and it is endlessly entertaining

They trust each other. A lot. Despite the teasing they've seen each other at their lowest, and neither poke fun at shit they know will truly hurt them

I dont have any questions I just wanted to send you some love. I just found a post of yours where you talk about how JK has grown, his tattoos, how comfortable he is with army, and how much you just want to support him and the rest of the guys to make them feel loved and comfortable enough to show up exactly as they are even though they're changing, and I just absolutely LOVE YOU FOR IT!!! I'm a newer ARMY and I feel the exact same way, and it's so nice to find someone else who feels the way. Do I find the guys terribly attractive, yes, but I've noticed my connection and attraction to them is a bit different than some fans, maybe because I'm an artist myself or maybe because they've helped and given me so much. I just want to make them feel extremely cared for and supported for being exactly who they are as human beings, in all of their different complexities and as they grow. It doesnt matter that they're idols, or famous, to me because if I had met them walking down the street instead and got to know them that way, they would be just as important to me and I would want to give them the exact same thing. I know logically most of ARMY probably feels the same way I do about the guys, but sometimes it tends to get drowned out and finding your post meant a lot to me.
