it just hit me that the movie is coming out next month imgonna throw upppppppp
#to be clear this isnt an excited post this is a scared post .#i feel kinda guilty about it with how excited i was about the first 2 movies#but i just cant be anymore paramount and the scu have disappointed me so much within the past year in so many ways ......#shadow is one of my favorite characters his lore makes me go crazy and is one of the things that pulled me into loving sonic so much#but i literally felt nothing while watching that trailer aside from confusion at some of the writing choices being made#like i wasnt expecting an exact recreation of sa2 but why is sonic working with gun . wtf is gerald doing here . why are there no girls .#the only positives to me were things that were cool visually . which doesnt outweigh all the things that have annoyed/disappointed me#like who cares about another cool sonic and shadow fight scene we already have plenty of those .#Anyway. saw some of those new promotional images.#i swear to god if they actually start calling shadow+eggman+gerald team dark#like they suggested they might in that survey from a while back#im gonna become the joker for real#(insert the NO that is NOT solid snake image but it says team dark instead)#also maybe im taking the hedgehog games way too seriously here#but having gerald still be alive and present in some form feels like such a bad idea from a story perspective ... like .#for one shadow lost Everything in the gun raid having gerald still be here feels like its undermining that in a way#but also gerald's whole thing in sa2 is being long dead but still impacting the story despite that . why is he ALIVEEEE#and why is he here over rouge ???? do they just hate women or something#(before someone goes ''it would take too much time/money to animate another cgi character''#maybe the movies should have just been fully animated if that sort of thing was a concern . just saying)

I'm playing mass effect (idk what made my brain wanna do it but why not ya know) and I'm planning on doing a whole series playthrough where my Shepard doesnt romance anyone until me3, where he'll romance Kaidan.
Because yes
#maybe my Shepard doesnt even realize he's gay#his life has been so dedicated to either survival or the military#when was he going to get a chance to realize he liked....literally anyone#chalks his disinterest in women to just being focused on his work#and then the entire galaxy goes to shit and they have to focus on making sure the galaxy doesnt fucking *die*#but then....kaidan#someone he trusts and respects#someone he'd risk his life for and knows would do the same#kaidan who initially doesnt trust him after getting rebuilt from the ground up by some of the people they are currently fighting#kaidan who doesn't know if you're the same man he fought with before#but then slowly you get his trust and his friendship back#and it's like no time has passed (so much time has passed and everything has changed)#and you both realize there's just something MORE#more than just friendship#more than just being brothers in arms#and goddamn it the galaxy is at war#so you might as well have that little bit extra to fight for#you'd never thought you'd be able to have this#someone to wake up to#someone to build a future with#fhdjdjdjdjd this got out of hand imma stop rambling

Still not over Oda deciding to have every single male character peep on the girls’ bath in Alabasta- including Luffy, Chopper, (disgustingly) King Cobra, and the fucking camel- EXCEPT for Zoro. In fact I’m pretty sure he’s the only main guy to have never been included in any of the many pervert gags. We talk about Luffy’s sexuality and very deliberate aroace coding a lot, but I think Zoro’s disinterest in women’s bodies is just as important to how he’s portrayed, and just as intentional on Oda’s part. Like, when we talk about the extremely (and justifiably!) popular mlm Zoro HC, it’s usually just our personal readings of his relationships with men like Luffy or Sanji, or (cough) strangely sexy one-liners, nothing we actually believe was intentional on Oda’s part. But this, I do believe is on purpose.

I wanna say yes bc even though queer themes have only very recently started being included TASTEFULLY#they’ve always been present in the narrative. some subtle and others more like the Horm Horm no Mi#still. Even though arospec Zoro owns my ass he just like me fr#I think in this case it’s just trying to convey that Zoro’s upbringing did leave Zoro in an awkward spot with women. in general#he tends to recoil from their romantic advancements and is the first to scoff Sanji’s ‘devotion’ to them#he can’t bring himself to objectify them or comment on their bodies at all. BUT ALSO#he can’t seriously to fight them. responds strongly when someone else does. He told Enel he was scum for hitting a /woman/ specificall#he recoils and flusters and stresses. overall doesnt know how to act around Tashigi and Hiyori#for all his talk about not being scared to fight a woman he was too afraid to actually cut Monet#He’s always holding himself back and there’s a narrative reason behind it. I'm on ep5 of LOK and remembering why I have never gotten past the first season of this show. The love triangle shit is driving me INSANE in the worst of ways. It feels like fucking high school drama.
I will stick it out... because I have heard the show gets better... and also the promise of endgame Korra and Asami.... I will stick it out this time....!!!!

I feel like every single time I play some game ppl shit on incessantly, the game is always like. Nowhere near as bad as anyone says. And every game ppl praise is always just as shit as every other game on the market.

Excuse me for adding a bit more to your post! This illustration gave me a good memory trip of high school reading years, seeing books with similar illustrations, and after rummaging on my scans from that era... I found some of them!
But the one that I'm glad I saved in full is... this one
Because this was my first exposition to anything Phantom of the Opera... since then THIS become THE Phantom on my mind! It ruined me forever to watch anything else that didn't portray him in this way x'D (To the point I even gave tribute to this design in an old fanart coff).
STILL, LOOK AT THAT! Both horrible and tender... how not to fall in love with a story that puts you in the middle of the struggles of these characters?
Btw the artist is [Ignacio Noé], an Argentinian Illustrator who was commissioned to do dozens of pictures of this caliber by a children's magazine of the same country, "Genios", under their collection "Grandes Clásicos" (circa 2000) that gathered old-time classic novels wrote down in very summarized chapters as a first introduction to literature for high schoolers.
It's not hard to find them being sold on the web separately but so far for me at least, this one is a grial because I only saw it in a few libraries, not always intact.
Still, I'll forever cherish this man and book for putting such a picture in my head ♥
