atsushi makes a lunchbox for akutagawa before theyre dating
the thing is, they have a mission that takes them all morning - by the time theyre done its lunch time
atsushi asks akutagawa if he wants to just get something together so they can report together akutagawa tells him he doesnt eat (becuz he doesn't want to) atsushi rolls his eyes and drags him to lunch anyway
the thing akutagawa just said it - like he wasn't serious
but atsushi is now awake at 2 am thinking about akutagawa not eating lunch
its fine tho, atsushi thinks, as he covers himself in his blanket, it was probably just a joke
except now atsushi always drags akutagawa to lunch if they're together for a mission by then and he knows logically that akutagawa not asking first means nothing but
well akutagawa isn't well known for his self care
so when they dont have to partner up for a week, atsushi stresses and bites his nails and then he thinks "i pack lunch for my friends all the time" becuz he does
atsushi who is new to cooking and very proud of his progress regularly packs his new recipes in a bento box for kunikida to try (he did it at first becuz he couldn't cook and kunikida gave him good pointers but now he just likes hearing his opinion on new recipes); him and kyouka take turns packing lunch (with occasional breaks to eat out), when he's really proud of his recipe he'll bring it in to the office (after kunikida's approval) which isnt packing lunch but its still feeding, and he occasionally packs dazai's lunch (too often and dazai will catch on that atsushi is feeding him becuz he cares and not just becuz he had too much food and time) so atsushi packing ppl lunch is nothing new
so of course it wouldn't be weird or strange or even anything pointing out if he packs akutagawa a lunch box for when they aren't on a mission together - he's just doing it becuz he can; its not like he's putting effort into it (except.... well except he bought another bento box, stocked up on akutagawa's favorite foods, and is carefully placing them to look cute becuz it might make akutagawa have a fun expression when he opens it)
cough
anyway
so atsushi wakes up a little early, makes kyouka and his lunch, stares at the new bento box, reassures himself its not weird, and packs aku's lunch
atsushi needs to get the box to aku quickly though becuz its not weird or awkward or strange but what if everyone finds out he's making akutagawa lunchboxes and notices how unweird, unstrange and unawkward it is
cough
again
anyway
akutagawa gets a call at 5:30 am from atsushi telling him to meet up right now becuz its so important and thinking that it might be a mission and not at all becuz he wants to be with atsushi and likes seeing him, he rushes over
atsushi's cheeks are red as he hands over the bento box and then spins on feet while akutagawa is processing, and, using his ability, bolts too fast for aku to do anything
akutagawa is left holding a bento box, staring wide eyed at it until he gets a call from higuchi asking where he is
akutagawa's had lunches from high end restaurants and expensive catering at lunch timed parties, but the little bento box made by atsushi with cute animal shaped rice balls and so much attention and detail on the food might just be the most delicious thing he's tasted
anyone who comments on the cute bento box atsushi chose or ponders about who'd make him lunch is met with a swift rashomon until they shut up
(other than gin and his friends who are convinced he has a boyfriend now. strange.)
#fun little atsushi and ada headcanon thrown in too becuz i love u and i love atsushi and the ada#shin soukoku#bungo stray dogs#sskk#bungou stray dogs#bsd atsushi#bungou stray dogs atsushi#atsushi nakajima#bsd#akutagawa x atsushi#akuatsu#bsd akutagawa#akutagawa ryuunosuke#bungo stray dogs akutagawa#atsushi x akutagawa#atsuaku

❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜❤️🧡
Atsushi Nakajima 🐅🤦♂️ 🐅🤦♂️ 🐅🤦♂️ 🐅🤦♂️
50% ler / 50% lee
Ler:
- in general, Atsushi always tries to be a very careful ler
- Apart from Akutagawa, then he really becomes a wild animal
- Making others laugh is Atsushi's only motivation
- The exception is again Akutagawa, who makes Atsushi want to punish him
- He doesn't know how to provoke, he can only do it when he is really inspired
- Favorite Lees: Akutagawa, Dazai and Kyoka
- “I really wanted to see you smile like that!”
Lee:
- His sensitivity level is gigantic, 100/100
- Does not like being attacked very much, will try to escape and fight back
- The fact that he cannot escape from Akutagawa makes him deeply angry
- When his parts are in the shape of a tiger, tickling him will make him purr, which Dazai finds very funny
- The tiger is more sensitive than his human form
- Teasing him makes him much, much more sensitive, as if it increases his sensitivity by 300x
- When someone touches the back of his knees, he screams and squeaks
- Weak points: legs (entirely) and belly
- Are you ticklish? “Huh? Why do you want to know? 😳”
-Teases that get him: “you look like a kitten, weretiger”
Osamu Dazai 💀⚰️ 💀⚰️ 💀⚰️ 💀⚰️ 💀
60% ler / 40% lee
Ler:
- Dazai is pretty radical when it comes to tickling someone
- he provokes too much
- Really more than he should
- He looks like he would say things like “coochie coo~” and such
- He will punish you and won't release you until you cry
- His satisfaction is to see you brooding
- And there's no point using powers on him, he'll be touching you
- Favorite Lees: Atsushi, Akutagawa and Chuuya
- “Oops~ does it tickle?”
Lee:
- feels very ticklish, 90/100
- Teases you to be attacked
- Everyone knows he loves being tortured, right?
- He likes to be arrested and killed
- He will ask you to stop but don't stop, if he really wants you to stop, he will make you stop
- Teases don't work much on him
- He teases back
- But he doesn't like people touching his most sensitive spot, even though it almost makes him die
- Sensitive points: neck
- Are you ticklish? “Yep, like you~”
- Provocations that catch him: “is this how you wanted to die? Tickled?”
Doppo Kunikida 📝⏱️ 📝⏱️ 📝⏱️ 📝⏱️
85% ler / 15% lee
Ler:
- Kunikida is always very irritated, so he always tickles others when he wants them to be quiet
- He's really good at holding his lee and making them suffer
- He always grabs Dazai by the neck and takes the opportunity to make him laugh
- Teases him by saying things like “are you going to apologize? No?"
- Doesn't stop even when his lee is about to cry
- Atsushi has to interfere so he doesn't kill anyone lol
- Favorite Lees: Dazai, always wants to kill him
- “Can you let me work in peace?”
Lee:
- He hates being tickled
- Like, he really hates it
- So the 15% only exists for times Dazai teased him with it
- Or that Aya forced him to do something
- He blushes when Dazai teases him, and gets even angrier
- Oh! And he is a 85/100
- Weak points: hands and armpits
- Are you ticklish? "No! DO NOT TRY"
– Taunts that get him: “Kunikida~ you’re laughing~”
Kenji Miwazawa 🐮💪 🐮💪 🐮💪 🐮💪
20% ler / 80% lee this child is wonderful, Kenji I love you
Ler:
- no one could escape Kenji's tickles, he is simply VERY STRONG
- But he doesn't usually tickle others, luckily for everyone
- He only attacks someone when someone attacks him
- Or when someone is sad
- He even likes to tickle others
- He doesn't know how to provoke, but he knows how to make a lee ashamed
- He does this involuntarily lol
- LOVES giving his lees raspberries
- He tickled his cows 👉👈
- Favorite Lees: I imagine he has a stronger relationship with Tanizaki and Rampo
- “the cows loved it when I did that to them, and you?”
Lee:
- he is extremely sensitive, he is just a child, 100/100
- The only reason others tickle him is to see his cute smile
- And the bubbly laughter
- In fact, also to calm him down when he is very euphoric
- When he feels tickled his strength runs out and he is completely destroyed hahahaha
- He loves and admits with all praise
- He even asked Atsushi to tickle him
- His laugh is warm and very loud
- Loves raspberries, receive them too
- Weak points: belly
- Are you ticklish? "Clear! And you?"
- Provocations that get him: “didn’t they teach you how we do things here in your village?”
Edogawa Rampo 👓🍭👓🍭👓🍭👓🍭👓
60% ler / 40% lee
Ler:
- Rampo LOVES tickling people out of nowhere
- His childish spirit makes everything tickle
- Did you insult him? Tickling
- You are sad? Tickling
- Did you steal his chocolates? Oh
- This is a more serious case, where he completely kills him lee, don't do that
- Rampo always goes to the end and doesn't even care if his Lee is dying
- But he's sweet and he'll let you go if you apologize
- Fights with Kenji~~~~
- He loves how cute Poe is when he laughs, so he tickles him for no reason
- Favorite Lees: Poe, and anyone at the agency, but especially Poe
- “I solved the mystery! It looks like you are ticklish~”
Lee:
- Very sensitive, like, very, 110/100
- He looks like a baby of almost thirty years
- Always denies being ticklish, even to people who have tickled him fifteen thousand times
- He loves it
- He looks like someone who provokes his ler to attack him
- If the punishment of any game is being tickled, he will lose on purpose
- He can't take provocations and starts screaming and blushing when someone provokes him
- Everyone just loves tickling this boy
- He's so cute
- Weak points: armpits
- Are you ticklish? “The great detective does not have these weaknesses”
- Provocations that catch him: “What happened great detective? Can’t you solve this mystery?”
Akiko Yosano 🦋💉 🦋💉 🦋💉 🦋💉 🦋
90% ler / 10% lee
Ler:
- This woman is the reincarnation of the devil
- She wants to kill you
- Likes to sneak through the shadows and be very mysterious
- She's very good at interrogation
- You will do what she wants, muahahahaha
- But don't worry she will let you go if you are dying
- Maybe 😏
- Atsushi is the best possible to interrogate, she loves the fact that he is simply too manipulable
- Favorite Lees: mainly end up with anyone from the agency
- “I can only help when you are almost dying”
Lee:
- It's not that she's not fit to be Lee, she's just barely ticklish
- 40/100 for real
- But she feels it in some specific points
- She also likes to be teased, but almost no one can really make her laugh
- Maybe Rampo has already tried so many times that at some point he succeeded
- She doesn't love tickling, but she doesn't hate it either
- But she kind of likes being attacked in her weak spot
- Weak points: legs
- Are you ticklish? “You’re asking me to tickle you?”
- Teasing that gets her: “you’re not going to die, doctor”
Junichirou Tanizaki ❄️😅 ❄️😅 ❄️😅 ❄️
80% ler / 20% lee
Ler:
- Junichirou is a very shy person, he is not very confident in what he is doing
- But if his lee starts to really laugh, he becomes a monster
- He has loved tickling his sister since he was little, usually when she was being a little too clingy
- I think he also likes to attack Kenji, I like this friendship
- His taunts aren't the best, he's much better when he's in monster mode
- He can tickle you without you seeing him MUAHAHAHAHA
- Be careful, he might be hiding to jump on you
- Favorite Lees: Naomi and Kenji
- “You can’t see me but I can touch you”
Lee:
- very sensitiveeeeeee
- 90/100
- He likes tickling, he can't deny it
- Naomi keeps attacking him every time they're in that awkward moment, and it's clear that he really likes it
- He is afraid of Yosano attacking him, so he keeps running away from her when she is in a mood
- I feel like he gets scared a lot, so if you poke him in the ribs he'll jump to the other side of the room
- He doesn't ask for tickles, but it's because he's embarrassed, that's cute, right?
- Weak points: sides and lower ribs
- Are you ticklish? “I-I d-don’t-“
- Provocations that catch you: “what happened? Are you ashamed?"
Izumi Kyoka 🐇🌸 🐇🌸 🐇🌸 🐇🌸 🐇🌸
60% ler / 40% lee
Ler:
- Kyoka is a very silent reader, which can cause some fear
- She barely talks about the process of taking her lee and destroying him
- Atsushi taught her that instead of killing anyone she was angry with, she could tickle the person
- She uses this tactic quite often, especially with Atsushi
- She can even provoke when she attacks someone
- But they're kind of death threats like “you're going to die”
- Which is kind of sinister
- In other words, she may be small, but everyone is scared of her because she's kind of terrifying
- Favorite Lees: Atsushi
- "I'll end with you"
Lee:
- She is 90/100
- It's soooo cute
- Hates when someone call she that
- Her laugh has a lot of squeals
- She insists on holding back her smile and laughter until she explodes
- Atsushi, when he tickles her, it's always to calm her down when she wants to kill someone
- She keeps kicking and punching her ler
- She can never sit still, hee ler comes out all injured
- Weak points: armpits
- Are you ticklish? "I will kill you"
-Teases that get her: “your laugh is so cute”
Ryunosuke Akutagawa 🔪👿 🔪👿 🔪👿
50% ler / 50% lee
Ler:
- In fact, Akutagawa likes be the ler more
- He's pretty mean
- He can trap your arms and legs with the rashumon
- It is not good to let him know your weak points
- But although he can be a very tough guy when he's angry (poor Atsushi), he can be very affectionate
- Maybe he just pokes you a few times, but if he does it once he'll never stop
- He knows how to tease well, hehehe
- Speaks calmly, which makes him lee even more frustrated
- When he wants to interrogate someone who doesn't feel very angry, he will definitely resort to tickling
- Favorite Lees: Atsushi (poor thing) and Gin
- “You’re already getting on my nerves, I’m going to have to punish you~”
Lee:
- hahaha he doesn't admit it, but he is extremely sensitive 100/100
- No one tickled him much during his life
- Just Gin when they were little
- But after a while in the Mafia, everyone discovered how sensitive he was and decided to catch him 😝
- Never EVER admit that he feels ticklish
- Unless... it's Atsushi
- With Atsushi he feels free
- His laughs are not very loud, for me, he has a very cute silent laugh, but he lets out some laughs
- he could kill his ler at any time, but he won't, firstly because he doesn't control rashumon when he feels ticklish, secondly because he secretly loves it
- Weak points: neck (it's difficult to get there because of the collar on him clothes)
- Are you ticklish? “No, get out of here”
- Teasing that gets him: “I thought you weren’t ticklish, sir”
Chuuya Nakahara 🍷 🖕🍷 🖕🍷 🖕🍷 🖕
40% ler / 60% lee
Ler:
- Since Chuuya is very easily angered, he often uses tickling to get revenge, instead of hitting people he likes
- It's a demon
- He can manipulate the gravity of his Lee's hands and trap them so they doesn't run away
- Or he can restrain Lee completely and not let him move
- Some may think he's just an angry man, but he knows how to finish anyone off
- And of course, I can't forget
- Finishing Dazai is his passion
- (We know Dazai loves this)
- Whenever the man irritates him, he attacks him and finishes him off
- Favorite Lees: Dazai
- "What it was? Can’t move, can you?~”
Lee:
- ehehehehehehehehehehe
- It's soooo sensitive 110/100
- He HATES tickles (unless they're from Dazai 🤭)
- This guy actually NEVER admits that he is sensitive, even when the person is about to kill him
- He blushes a lot, which can be really funny since he's always so tough
- Him sensitivity is known to everyone
- In the Mafia, everyone keeps poking him to make him jump
- And he gets all embarrassed and frustrated about it oinnnn
- He's only 10% more of a lee because Dazai tickles him 24 hours a day
- His powers just don't work when he's being attacked, so he can't even fight back or run away (Dazai loves this fact)
- Weak points: ribs (the most superior)
- Are you ticklish? “Fuck you”
- Provocations that catch him: “oh my God, you can’t escape? Come on, use your powers~”
Edgar Allan Poe 📚🦝📚🦝📚🦝📚🦝📚
20% ler / 80% lee
Ler:
- In fact, the occasions in which Poe is a ler are quite rare
- This only happens when Rampo provokes him to feel ticklish
- And he obviously answers
- He only knows how to tickle Rampo, because his boyfriend taught him hahahaha
- He really likes feathers, he likes to put feathers on his lee
- His teases are usually compliments
- Apart from Rampo, he really is never the ler
- Favorite Lees: Rampo, right?
- “You look cute laughing”
Lee:
- Poor thing, why did this boy date Rampo?
- He’s really very sensitive 120/100
- His whole body feels like one big gigantic sensitive spot
- Did I say he loves feathers? He loves having feathers brushed on him too, especially on his ears.
- Rampo knows he likes this, so he teases him whenever Poe is writing with a fountain pen like that with a nib
- he loves to be teased, and he really is teased all day
- I feel like because he's a writer, his hands are also very sensitive, I don't know why 😂
- He blushes a lot, like A LOT
- His laugh is low but increases as his reading provokes him
- Karl can tickle himmmmmmmmm
- Very cute
- Weak points: ears and hands
- Are you ticklish? “Me? DID KARL TELL YOU?”
-Teases that get him: “I know you love this”
Extra: I discovered that the name EDOGAWA RAMPO is a different pronunciation of the name EDGAR ALLAN POE, my couple 😭😭😭😭😭

Seeing as no one sees my posts I'm just gonna place the first chapter of a fic I'm working on and see what happens.
If, you read it, leave a review because it desperately needs an outsiders eye (I'm going fcking insane)
important tags - TW ig? mention of Dazai not being able to take care of himself, possible arson.
Dazai/Chuuya
it doesn't have a title so i've just been calling it "oh mah gawd they were roommates."
“Who set the fire?” Fukuzawa looked disappointed at his detectives, all standing in front of him in a line.
He had that look on his face. That look of pure how the fuck could you manage this? Mixed with what have my grown ass children done this time?
No Fukuzawa did not consider every agency member as one of his children but he did care deeply for each and every one of them -most of the time- but sometimes it really did feel like he was father to a small kindergarten.
Behind them -the aforementioned kindergarten- was the horrifying sight of what remained of their dorm building smouldering in the background. Some of the structure was still on fire but was quickly put out by the fire fighters that had arrived on the scene.
Now the only thing left of it was some of the remaining skeleton of the building that was painted black in soot after almost, but not quite, burning completely.
Everyone glanced nervously at each other, not sure what to say. Most of them were covered in ash and dirt, their hair messy and all in their pyjamas, except for Dazai who didn’t plan on sleeping or perhaps he had gotten used to passing out in his work clothes.
Whichever it was he would surely continue to wear them, even though they were now imprinted with the smell of smoke and the bottom of his coat was burnt off. Really it was a miracle he hadn't set himself on fire yet or that Atsushi wasn't on fire… still.
They had all fought for their lives and the lives of their co-workers to make it out of the burning building. Unfortunately only one smoke detector went off, leaving them until it was too late to realise they were in danger.
Perhaps if someone had remembered to tell Kunikida they broke the alarm system they would have been more prepared for the fire engulfing their favourite set of plates.
Luckily the agency members are known for being able to get out of chaotic situations such as these with minimal harm. If it weren’t for Kunikida and Yosano the harm would’ve been less minimal…
Ranpo took one look at the building and sighed when he noticed everyone else staring at him. “What? The building is old. Most likely faulty wires or something.”
Fukuzawa sighed with relief, he was glad to hear it wasn’t one of his subordinates that accidentally burned down their home. Which was a very real and completely understandable thought to have, but now they didn’t have anywhere to sleep. “Yosano please get the emergency blankets and pillows. Everyone can sleep in the office tonight.”
Yosano -and without a word Ranpo- went to the agency to set up their temporary sleeping arrangements. “Everyone try and get some rest. We’ll work the issue out in the morning.” Fukuzawa dismissed the rest of them to go set up in the office for the rest of the night.
Thanks to Ranpo, the pillows and blankets ended up being thrown all over the room wherever there was space between the desks and chairs. Although it was more likely he had been trying to make himself a blanket fort before giving halfway.
They let Kenji and Kyouka squeeze onto the couch in the break room with their pillows and a large blanket Yosano found in a storage closet.
Atsushi looked concerningly comfortable sleeping on the carpeted floor with a binder of paper for a pillow despite Yosano insisting he take one of the pillows Ranpo was hoarding.
And Ranpo, despite his bean bag he and Yosano were sharing, had several other pillows piled up, surrounding him in a sad-looking pillow fort that could not have rivalled the failed blanket fort.
Even so Ranpo discouraged anyone who try to steal from his hoard with a well placed glare and if it happened to be too dark to see, a good bite was also just as effective.
Yosano was not as pleased with this resolution as Ranpo was.
The only people who weren’t looking for a comfortable place to sleep were Dazai and Kunikida. Dazai didn’t sleep much anyway and resorted to standing in the middle of the room like some sort of demon.
Kunikida on the other hand looked dead tired as he was typing away on his phone furiously. He was typing so hard they could have sworn he had generated enough electricity for his chair to take off down the street.
“What ya doing Kunikida?” Dazai poked his head over his disgruntled co-workers shoulder to look at his phone much to Kunikida’s annoyance.
“I’m looking for a place to stay. I suggest you do the same.” Kunikida pushed his glasses up his face and went back to typing on his phone. Dazai looked around at the others, Atsushi and Yosano were also on their phones.
A modern day affliction took on my most to continuously check social media… but they were probably just researching housing options. The more sensible choice.
They were both extremely concentrated, obviously doing the same as Kunikida. In situations like these, it was obvious to them that they needed an immediate plan, on the other hand a person like Ranpo was already asleep.
Knowing him he already had a nice house ready and waiting for him and he wouldn’t even ask if he could stay, he’ll just walk right in and make himself at home the only reason he was still sitting with the other members was what he calls “Moral support.”
Ever the cheerleader Ranpo chose to stay and spend the night with the team, despite the fact he spent over half of the week sleeping at Poe's house. Whether that be a pre planned decision or a night he decides to randomly show up on his doorstep.
“Kunikida is right Dazai, you should be looking for somewhere to stay. Unless you enjoy the office/home lifestyle.” Yosano side eyed while still keeping her blunt tone when addressing Dazai.
If things like that had affected him at all surely Dazai would have been thrown to the floor with the amount of psychic damage the doctor was aiming at him with her vicious stare. Although she was known to also be physically capable of such feats of strength.
“I already have some place in mind. You two on the other hand can enjoy the office's 5-star accommodations.” Dazai replied, watching the styrofoam balls spill out the side of the bean bag, slowly, one by one like a sad waterfall or more accurately a leaky tap.
“Dazai, please find a place to stay. I don’t want to have to drag you off of the street in the middle of the night.” Atsushi sighed at the thought of losing any more sleep than he already had.
Dazai’s co-workers had no faith in him. They had already assumed he would opt to sleep on a sidewalk in a box somewhere, something that he had not done for several years.
Surely no one would blame him for taking offence that they would even suggest he would do such a thing in spite of its complete accuracy, not that they had any means of proving it.
“And don’t diss my beanbag. This thing is armed detective agency history. It’s the only thing we had in here when we first started” Yosano defended her bean bag as little spheres of styrofoam continued to fall out and roll across the floor.
Some of which made their way to Atsushi in some sort of soft, amateurish ambush by styrofoam.
It was rather amusing to think about Ranpo and Yosano only having a beanbag when they first started the agency. The thought made Atsushi smile until he laughed slightly too hard and inhaled one of the little balls. His co-workers were not so concerned about it as he was.
“So you got a place?” Yosano asked, reminding Atsushi of his devastating task whilst he coughed up half a lung from the attack. He might as well lay down and die. Not the most outstanding death to be had in history but surely it would be an alright way to go, and he wouldn’t have to think about any future living accommodations.
Luckily Yosano spared him the long, suffering death with a well placed slap on the back.
“No, but I was thinking I could find a place like this for myself. I thought it would be good for me to do something like that.” He nervously tried to explain with a slightly scratchy voice and inbetween the last few coughs from his fit.
Obviously, he couldn’t get a house by himself but maybe a place with a roommate or something. He had been saving up a lot of money to do this so what better time to do it? Although the thought made his stomach turn. Being independent is scary.
“Maybe you and Dazai can share, then we won’t have to worry about you both dying alone,” Kunikida mumbled from his seat like a grouch.
Unfortunately, no one else defended either of them, mostly because everyone else was already asleep and Yosano wholeheartedly agreed with Kunikida. It was probably the best option for those two hazards to stick together for now or they might not survive. It’s a miracle they’d ever made it this long and that was with support.
Atsushi said something to defend himself and with Yosano distracted Dazai took this as his chance to leave unnoticed and casually walked to the door in the dark, assuming she had already started a heated argument with Atsushi about his inability to survive.
“Hold it, what are you doing? Do you know what time it is? Where are you going.” Yosano demanded to know, sounding like a suspicious mother, as she caught Dazai's silhouette moving in the shadows. She most definitely had the commanding voice worthy of such a title. “I swear if we have to drag you off of the street tomorrow-“
Surely those words could have also sent Dazai flying to the wall as if punched by a brute so Dazai shut the door quickly so he wouldn’t have to listen to Yosano complain about him to his face or actually end up with his face in a wall. At least she didn’t come after him, he remembers some other people he knew who wouldn’t let him go so easily. Now to put his plan into action.

So we know dazai tickles chuuya all the time, right? Right. And vice versa. I’m curious to know your thoughts on the reactions of some of the PM and/or ADA the first time they witnessed it (cause dazai at least doesn’t seem the type to care if there’s an audience)
like all I can think about is the ADA thinking about scary port mafia executive chuuya nakahara, strongest ability user in Yokohama and how intimidating he is and meanwhile dazai is just like he’s not scary watch this. (The PM is used to this shit by now, they’ve had years to get desensitized to soukoku)
The Armed Detective Agency members' reactions to Dazai tickling Chuuya ^^
AKA I got majorly inspired and ran with this idea and I may or may not have a fic in mind for it too 😍

Kind of surprised but not really – he has his own tough mafia boyfriend who is susceptible to tickles, after all. Still thinks it’s cute and amusing to watch, though feels a little bad for Chuuya because he knows how ruthless Dazai can be.
Kunikida
Absolutely floored and mildly flustered – it’s one thing to hear about it, a whole other to actually watch Dazai tickle their mafia rival into submission. He’s telling Dazai to knock it off after a few seconds of Chuuya cackling helplessly.
Ranpo
Not at all surprised, could have told you Chuuya was ticklish after their first meeting, of course. Still finds it amusing and will happily sit back and enjoy the show with snacks.
Kyouka
Had heard rumors in the Port Mafia that Dazai and Chuuya got into tickle fights sometimes, so isn’t surprised to see it actually happening. Is surprised just HOW ticklish Chuuya is.
Tanizaki siblings
Absolutely shocked, can’t seem to tear their eyes away from the scene. Naomi becomes inspired and tries to convince Junichiro to play like that with her sometime, which he adamantly refuses to do.
Yosano
Surprised but finds it hilarious, is cheering Dazai on for the sake of watching Chuuya beg for mercy. Her sadistic tendencies really come forth when witnessing this spectacle.
Kenji
Not surprised, thinks it’s awesome, wants to join in on the fun. Even takes a second to cheer Chuuya up afterward.
Fukuzawa
More surprised that Chuuya doesn't immediately kill Dazai for tickling him than by the tickling itself. Honestly kind of ships it, so he doesn't intervene.
~~~
Honorary Members' Reactions~
Poe
The most shocked of them all, also the most flustered. Keeps darting glances at Ranpo for his reaction. Especially flustered if a feather happens to be involved.
Sigma
Surprised, but that’s pretty much it. Has no strong feelings toward any of the ADA yet except Dazai, and he’s not shocked to see Dazai tickling anyone – he’s used to that. He does think it’s kind of cute to watch, though – mostly because Dazai's love for Chuuya really shines through while he's tickling him.
Bsd except while Atsushi is terrified at being alone with Fukuchi on the boat. More than anything, Atsushi is pissed.
Fukuchi is so nonchalant and calm. And that only makes Atsushi growl.
This is the man who would've killed Ranpo if he hadn't escaped.
This the man who had Dazai imprisoned far away from them all.
This is man who's team have almost killed his friends over and over. He'll never forgive them for what they did to Kunikida...
Fear plagues Atsushi's heart but it is nothing compared to the rage that fills his bones.
It grows and grows at the sight of the man, who raises an unimpressed eyebrow. Fukuchi's faced some of the greatest calamities known to man kind, an angry child doesn't scare him.
That is until Atsushi glows and the sound of flesh tearing and limbs reassembling fills the air.
Fukuchi freezes, because this shouldn't be possible. He knows Fukuzawa's ability as well as the man himself, a loss of control like this shouldn't be possible.
... Unless... Unless this was all on purpose.
But even than, to unleash such a transformation under "All men are equals", with no full moon... How strong was this kid...?
Atsushi roars.
He looks at Fukuchi and lunges at him without a second thought. Fukuchi dodged, barely his shoulder had been slashed and was already bleeding.
Just what was this kid...?
Atsushi had become the very thing he never wanted to. But that didn't matter, not now. This wasn't about Atsushi, it was for the agency.
The Agency who had taken him in when he had nothing. Who gave him nothing but love and care.
Atsushi had been abandoned by his parents, by the world itself.
He was a monster to all, one who only bought misfortune onto others... And the Agency members still smiled at him and called him family.
Family.
They cared for him, loved him and wanted nothing but the best for them. And Atsushi will be damned if anyone tries to take them from him.
He would anything for them, even become the very monster the world claimed him to be.
Fukuchi broke up the agency, he turned the whole world against them.
And Atsushi wasn't going to let him hurt his family ever again.
Even if it killed him.
I've recently read the ch 84-88 of bsd and there's one thing i want to know, why did atsushi challenged akutagawa to not kill anyone during 6 months if he never believed that akutagawa could keep his promise about not killing ? What was going through atsushi head when he challenged akutagawa that way, did he want akutagawa not listen to him and fail?
That's a good question. Because chapter 85 proves that Atsushi did not believe Akutagawa would have been able to keep his promise; why bother asking, then? I suppose, in the end Atsushi thought it was worth giving it a try. He didn't believe in Akutagawa, but the fact that he challenged him demostrates that he wanted to be proved wrong. That he wanted Akutagawa to prove him wrong.
Atsushi - at least, at that point in the story - thinks very poorly of Akutagawa. Atsushi is judgemental, he thinks of Akutagawa as someone impulsive, stupid and small minded. But after they fought together, after they fused their abilities, after Atsushi had made himself defensless and vulnerable in front of Akutagawa and Akutagawa had done the same in turn... Atsushi didn't care for Akutagawa. Except that he did, at least more than he did before. So he's like: here's a tip. That's what Atsushi words are: a suggestion from a friend. They're not a challange, or an order, and they're only disguised as a deal, because there wasn't any reason for a deal to begin with, Akutagawa would have fought against him after six months either way. And Atsushi gives Akutagawa an advice, he tells him: there's some things that you aren't able to see, and that's why you're in pain. Here's what you can do to change that. In a way, Atsushi's words to Akutagawa in chapter 53 are the direct follow-up of his statement on the Moby Dick “If you asked me, I'd say Dazai-san has already recognized you long ago [but you can't see it]”. “Then you will come to the truth in its simplest form, and what you need for Dazai-san to acknowledge you. The fact that weakness and strength aren't as related as they appear to be [here's how to see it]”.
Let's add to that. Perhaps, Atsushi's willingness to give Akutagawa a chance was prompted by how close they went to knowing each other's ghosts during that mission, how much of themselves they opened up to the other. In that moment, for the first time in the whole story, Atsushi starts contemplating a tiny possibility of Akutagawa ever changing. Even though he doubted Akutagawa could make it, even though he knew there was a very slim chance Akutagawa would ever keep his word, for a fragment of second Atsushi still thought it was worth giving Akutagawa a chance¹. Atsushi is quick to judgement and full of preconceptions and doesn't often grant people the benefit of the doubt, but here for the very first time we can see him partially dropping his prejudices, which is so important to his personal growth. It's the first step towards trusting Akutagawa which will ultimately culminate in chapter 87 and them blindingly trusting each other in order to defeat Fukuchi, and later in chapter 107 with Atsushi fully trusting Akutagawa would never hurt him under normal circumstances and also with Atsushi offering himself as Akutagawa's meal without opposing much resistence. I mean. Sorry. It did kinda happen tho.
I don't think Atsushi made Akutagawa promise because he was hoping that he would have failed. I mean, if anything, Atsushi is strongly against people dying, so he would hope for Akutagawa to keep his promise only so that nobody would have had to lose their lives. The only instance of Atsushi hoping Akutagawa would break his promise could be, perhaps, on a subconscious level, hoping, in spite of himself, that Akutagawa would break the deal because that way they wouldn't have had to fight and kill each other, because deep down Atsushi doesn't want to kill Akutagawa. But this last one is quite a romanticized interpretation, ahah.
¹ Some very insightful considerations on Atsushi's willingness to change his view of Akutagawa were expressed in this great Atsushi analysis. I warmly recommend to give it a read!
he would never admit it, but Chuuya prefers ADA!Dazai to PM!Dazai. arl, he doesn't hate the Agency, and we don't really know his thoughts ab them. he doesn't like weak people, and no one there is really weak, everyone has some skill or ability that he'd find useful (Tachihara like the Black LIzard said has the perfect ability to be an assassin, Fukuzawa and Kunikida are extremely strong in martial arts (and Chuuya is the Mafia's best martial artist, it would be so interesting to see him fight Fukuzawa. without ability, only to know who'd win), Kenji is a sweetheart and Chuuya has already acknowledged his strength, Atsushi is just like him, Kyouka is Kouyou's ex apprentice ofc he'd like her, and Yosano is the embodiment of girl power with one of the most useful abilities ever) so yeah.
Dazai is objectively better in his ADA era (ofc one can prefer his younger self, find it more interesting, but he's a better person in his twenties). Sometimes it doesn't matter why one does good things, it's enough the fact they're doing good, that they choose to. maybe Dazai became a good man just because of Oda's last words, but he became a good man. even if he still has to work more ab himself, he's trying and he's doing a good job at it. and a reality where Chuuya (who has matured in those years too, who has changed like Dazai has changed) kinda likes this Dazai is appealing. one where he sees how much Dazai is trying to be better, ad Chuuya's the type of guy to appreciate something like that. (Chuuya loved Dazai, trusted him, but he isn't (and wasn't) the type of guy to like unjustified violence- when Dazai was the type of guy who didn't really care ab reasons) like a "I recognise you've changed, it's ok I've changed too, but yk this version of you is better than the edgy emo kid able to put a bullet in someone's head just because he was bored" not saying he's perfect, but come on PM!Dazai is a piece of shit to anyone except Odasaku (the ff tropes I wanna write but don't find the strenght to) (soukoku is the real deal) (they're gonna be endgame I feel it) (not really I'm hoping for the pride month)
Has anyone else noticed that all of the ADA's enemy organizations lack a sense of unity? I was thinking about it last night, and only the ADA has members that all want the same end goal.
In this essay, I will... Just read under the cut, idk.
Organization by organization, I'll explain what I mean.
Armed Detective Agency:
Fukuzawa: Founded the Agency as a place to help Ranpo use his ability to save people
Ranpo: While only wanting to use his hyper-intelligence when it suits him, he'll also only use it if the end goal is helping people
Yosano: Wants a place in the world where nobody will use her ability as a weapon against other people. Also, has been spending all of her time in the ADA helping people.
Kunikida: Will live and die for his ideals, many of which revolve around helping people.
Dazai: Despite whatever ulterior motives the man has, his main reason for joining the agency was Oda telling him to "Be a good man and save people."
Tanizaki: He's a loose cannon right now, but for the sake of my argument he's doing it all to help his sister. That or he's the only exception because he's definitely going to join the Mafia.
Kenji: Can do no wrong and I don't think the kid has an 'I actively want to hurt people' bone in his body. Also, he helps people around Yokohama and they all like him. So, yeah he falls under our wants to help people category.
Atsushi: Wants to prove he's worthy of being alive by saving people.
Kyouka: After being stuck in the Mafia she's chosen to use her ability and skills to help people while working in The Agency.
Apologies for sounding like a broken record for that entire section. It gets more interesting I swear.
Port Mafia:
Mori: While he clearly cares about Yokohama as a place (made clear by his actions during The Guild arc) he also seems to be running the mafia for the power and safety (?) it brings him.
Chuuya: I could go on for a whole post on why Chuuya is still with the Mafia. But that's not what this post is about. In Stormbringer Chuuya finds his answer to the whole 'Am I human?" argument. So that can't be his main driving force. I think his main reason for doing what he's doing is that Chuuya is a social person. He enjoys having people around whom he can trust and who trust him. But, he also knows he doesn't want to be a leader, so an executive of the mafia is a safe and comfortable position for him. (He and Sigma would get along great with their whole desire for a home thing.)
Akutagawa: Is pretty clear, while loyal to the mafia his driving force is proving to Dazai that he's worth something, that he's grown stronger. Although now that he's gotten that I wonder what his main driving force (aside from fucking Atsushi up) is.
Tachihara: He's being put in the Mafia category because it's where he wants to be. Aside from being a double agent and all that Tachihara's driving force was getting revenge for his brother and the orders he was given. Even saying that "Orders make me who I am."
Kajii: I am almost 100% sure he only joined the mafia because they let him blow shit up with no repercussions.
I'm not doing every PM ability user, I'd be here for the rest of my life, so take these few.
The Guild:
Fitzgerald: Is looking for the book to bring his dead daughter back to life and save his wife.
Margaret: Trying to make money to restore her family's honor.
Steinbeck: Making money to send home to his family.
Twain: Wants an adventure (?) He went to write a book about it so I'm assuming that's what happened.
Lucy: Looking for a place where she'll be appreciated and seen as useful (Gods, why do so many people in this story just want a home.)
Lovecraft: Is only with The Guild because of a contract.
Herman: Loyalty to what The Guild was? Love for the Moby Dick?
Poe: Only joined because it meant he would get to see Ranpo again (we know what you are).
The Hunting Dogs:
Fukuchi: Is trying to dismantle the state and 'dethrone the angels'. And I'm pretty sure his reasoning is that the state is the only reason war happens, so if he removes the state war can't happen anymore. (nobody tell this man about civil wars he'd have to wipe out all life on earth.)
Teruko: Follows Fukuchi? I haven't analyzed her enough to know what her goals are, sorry.
Tecchou: Strives for justice in the world and puts it above everything else (except for Jouno in those five minutes.)
Jouno: Enjoys tormenting people and seeing them squirm but also wants to help the innocent and finds joy in that. (Gods Jouno, pick a side when you come back, okay? I had to open the Manga to figure you out.)
The Decay Of Angels:
Fyodor: Wants to destroy all ability users and cleanse the world of sin.
Gogol: Wishes to be free from the shackles of society's morals and is at the moment attempting to kill Fyodor to prove that point.
Sigma: They just want a home, somewhere to belong that can't be taken away from them. (Can Sigma get a happy ending, please? I love him very much.)
Bram: God only knows the man wants to sleep with his Spotify on and relax for once.
---
It's just fun that only the Agency has members that all want the same thing. Especially with some of the organizations having members that directly contradict each other. Gogol attempting to kill Fyodor. Bram actively not wanting to use his ability. Tecchou striving for justice that Fukuchi is actively destroying.
Maybe that's why everyone keeps losing to The Agency, they lack the unity that the ADA has. Or maybe I'm grasping at straws and this is dumb.
#I was gonna add Hirostu but all I have to say is whatever they're paying him is not enough#I was going to put The Rats In The House Of Dead but we know nothing about anyone aside from Fyodor in that one#Fukuchi isn't in the DOA one because it would have been the same as the HD one#long post#bsd#bungo stray dogs#bungou stray dogs#armed detective agency#port mafia#the guild bsd#the hunting dogs#the decay of angels
Poe and Ranpo meeting a teen, 12-13, reader who’s basically murderous like Kyoka who has a powerful ability (on a rampage the first time Poe/Ranpo meet reader lol-). Except instead of reader getting a redemption (Atsushi and kyoka jumping out of the train scene) a little bit after meeting, it takes days to months even. And really, they’re just a traumatized young kid who took to murder as a coping mechanism after being taught to do so. They’re really curious about things most would already know their age
Sorry sorry if it’s a bit too detailed or you can’t understand
Do you think I want to live like this?
Warnings: spoilers for Season 4 episode 5 and gore (I think that's all)
It was only a few hours after Ranpo and Poe hears mushitaro getting shot in the head. Ranpo kept thinking of the warning mushitaro gave him.
"THE AGENCY WILL GET A JOB, NEVER ACCEPT IT! ACEPPTING IT WOULD DESTROY THE AGENCY"
Ranpo and Poe both felt saddened by Mushitaro's death.
As they were walking down the street, talking abt what that job would be, ranpo tried using his ultra deduction, but it hadn't worked for some reason.
The sounds of screams were heard as Ranpo and Poe's eyes widened, they started running towards the alley where they heard the screams from.
There stood a young girl, she was 12-13, she held a katana, that katana being covered in blood.
There were a huge amount bodies, small and big, it didn't matter to the young girl, as long as she got to kill, she didn't care.
At this point she was hitting the already dead person with the katana (legit hitting them).
She couldn't stop, she just couldn't, she wanted more, she wanted to kill more.
Ranpo went closer to her, but Poe was against it, Poe held out his hand to stop Ranpo, but he gave up as he realised Ranpo wouldn't stop.
Ranpo put his hand on the little girls' shoulder, knowing that she doesn't know what she's doing.
She slowly turned her head around, looking angry, but deep down, she was just a little girl in distress and just wants to be saved, but no one comes to save her, she's still waiting, wanting to be saved, but no one ever saves her.
"Do you wanna get killed like the others? Or are you gonna run and then get killed? Choose quickly and wisely." She said without hesitation.
"...."
"Ranpo! Why did you do that?!" Poe shout-whispered.
"First, I'll kill you both, then I'll kill my self. That's what I was ordered to do. Do my mission and die."
"You will not kill any of us. You are never gonna kill anyone again." Ranpo said boldly, clearly trying to stop the girl from completing her "mission", honeslt, who would make 13 year old girl do such job?
"Well then, I guess I have no choice but to kill myself..."
Ranpo pushed the katana out of the girls' hands and gripped both her shoulders
"NO! YOU ARE NOT GONNA KILL YOURSELF OR ANYONE!"
Poe stood shocked, and the young girls' eyes opened wide
"W- Who are you to tell me what to do?! I don't even know you!"
Her eyes started glossing as she started to cry. Poor girl.
She hugged Ranpo tight, crying.
Ranpo signaled that Poe can go, Poe went away of course, leaving them with the privacy they need.
She hugged ranpo even more tight
"I'm sorry,I'm sorry,I'm sorry, I'm sorry.." at this point she was shouting her apologies.
Ranpo hugged her back, remembering when he had a break down when fukuzawa was yelling at him, it was all the same.
"Shh, its ok..."
She kept crying,crying and crying, until she finally calmed down, still sobbing a bit.
"Hey, what's your name?"
"Y/N...I don't have a last name."
You can come with me to the agency, we can get you anew katana."
"Thanks..."
Series Review: Failure Frame
The full series name is Failure Frame: I Became The Strongest And Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells.
I'm gonna admit up front that I put off touching this series because the title alone was such a turnoff. Happily, it turns out the title has almost nothing to do with the actual story. This is a good series, people, and worth giving time to.
Let's get into it.
First, you may legitimately ask, if the title's deceptive why is it there and what is this REALLY about?
The title is there to give you a beginning. Because yes, this is how it starts; Our Hero is isekai'd with his whole class to another world, and Our Hero is quickly separated from all the others because he's "too weak", having only a few debuff/DOT spells to his name (which in this world almost never work, and when they do, don't work long). But lo! Of course, Our Hero's version is nothing like that, and So Our Journey Begins. Our Hero will take revenge on everyone that cast him aside!
...So that's what you'll see in probably most reviews. It's true, that's basically the first few episodes. Touka (our Hero) is isekai'd, cast aside, left to die, and is justifiably pissed off about it and swears revenge. And women fall for him through the storyline, including The Most Beautiful Woman In The World.
But as with any story, it's not the pieces but how they're put together that really counts. Let me tell you about those.
Firstly...this story is ABOUT abuse. It's about what abuse does to you, what it makes of you (and doesn't make of you). It's about toxic people and how even the best kindest people can be twisted by them. It's about how people get broken, and how some get better and some get worse. If you got into Bungo Stray Dogs because Atsushi or Akutagawa's backstories tugged at your heart, this is very much a story for you.
Touka is a survivor of hellish abuse. His parents didn't want him and did their best to kill him, until neighbors saw what was happening and Touka was placed in the care of his aunt and uncle. From them he learned kindness, and trust, and caring...but he is damaged, as anyone would be. In Touka's case, he's internalized that he is a 'bad person', a cruel person. His parents were both cruel and he is their son, and when they beat him and hurt him he wished them dead. He's very good at spotting abusive/toxic people and he thinks he's like them. This is a constant through the story; Touka 'performs' kindness, or at least thinks he does. He 'performs' being a good person. The story's told from his pov in the light novel, so you can see a lot of his rationalizations about how self-serving his 'goodness' is.
You'll also see a lot of characters tell him he is, in fact, kind. There's a good reason for that, too, that isn't entirely to do with Touka himself.
See, this isekai world is, to put it mildly, FUCKED UP. Top to bottom, it is ROYALLY fucked up.
The Goddess of this isekai - the one that pulls people in, trains the heroes, dictates policy, grants favor, etc? She is the very epitome of a toxic, abusive personality. She's hateful and manipulative and yes, a goddess. Nobody can touch her. Nobody outpowers her. The entirety of this isekai world is stuck between this abusive goddess and "the root of all evil", the demon king that Touka's class was sucked into this to deal with.
Now, most of Touka's class are...not great people. They're mostly not utterly awful, at the start, but they're mostly not great people. (There's like...one or two exceptions. But only one or two.) They're flavors of neglected, of cracked, of hurting. But they get isekai'd straight into this hellworld, where their only real guide is this toxic goddess...Touka is disposed of early on as an example to the others, really. The goddess chooses him (as the apparently weakest summon) to basically make it clear to the rest of the class that this can and will happen to them, too, if they don't pull their weight. That's the kind of world this is.
In a world like that, where power to get away with what you want to do is ALL that matters...there's a lot of very horrible, very powerful people.
The STORY is about how the isekai'd class responds to that world.
Yes, the whole class. Not just Touka. Character development for everybody!
Of course, Touka is Our Hero, so we get a lot of his pov. And how he proceeds, what he sees. Yes, he does wind up with the Most Beautiful Girl In The World (tm) - but man, I love how the story dealt with this.
I mean. Think about it. You're in a hellworld where the local deity rewards the idea of the powerful taking what they want. And you're a beautiful, kind woman.
Life expectancy should be around 0.5 seconds, y'know?
Seras Ashrain is the female lead here. She is so beautiful that anything belonging to her has significant black market value. WARS have been started over her, and over who gets to 'possess' her. She's a prize in the eyes of many. A trophy.
She's also a very sweet young lady, kind and true, and before you go bwuh - think about every twerp of a boy you've ever seen when he's confronted with a beautiful girl. They stutter. They're shy. They Just Want To Talk. Seras Ashrain is a walking catalyst, but spends a lot of the story unaware of it because things happen AROUND her and BECAUSE of her, but almost no one tells her anything to her face. They just want to be liked by her, and be her friend. Except for the ones so powerful that they feel they can skip all that and go right to the rape, but even then she doesn't really see why they're after her.
Touka gets through all this because he's so damaged by events that he flat out does not have time for this bullshit. He takes her in because she's a superb combatant and he needs the fighting skill. And because Seras is a magnet for powerful assholes, he also gets a lot of training in his skills by helping her protect herself.
She falls in love with him because he doesn't try to get in her pants, letting her try to get into his instead. Yes, that's how low the bar is for 'goodness' in this isekai. He's not a rapist, he's not an abuser. Therefore he's a Good Guy.
It's probably important to remember that context. The story doesn't shy away from the fact that Touka can be really ruthless, manipulative, and cold. His survival is on the line and he never, ever forgets that. He can and WILL use everyone around him in service to the greater goal of a) Not dying, b) revenge on the goddess that put him in this spot, and c) getting home. But there's lines he won't cross, and having those lines (at all) is what makes him the better option for a lot of the cast.
I think the best example of this I can give is this: at one point in the story, Touka is seeking a specific witch. They've never met, the witch is in hiding for good reasons, and he knows she's a dark elf. Along this route, he finds out there is a possible guide to the witch, who is connected to a dark elf child, currently enslaved. Pragmatically, sight unseen, he decides to kidnap/free the dark elf child because this will make the witch look more favorably on him after tracking her down. That said, when he MEETS the child, he realizes she's being physically and mentally abused by her owner. (The owner is doing this because the local lord has taken a shine to the slave and wants her broken before teaching her to be a sex slave, but while the owner's doing this under orders it's pretty clear they don't MIND doing this either.) The guide is a good person and doesn't want Extra Trouble. Touka has his own views on the matter. Firstly he is Very Gentle with the slave girl, and very careful of her trauma. Once the slave is removed from the abuser, and safe off with the guide, he kills the owner slowly. (I should point out that owing to the nature of Touka's magic, he doesn't have much choice about that. Some, but not much.) The slaveowner of course uses the time to plead for their life, including "if you kill me you'll go to hell with me, but if you spare me you'll go to heaven".
Touka just laughs. Because of course he's going to hell. There was never any doubt in his mind about that. The slave owner cannot be trusted, therefore cannot be spared. He kills her and tries to make it look like a robbery.
Like I said. This is about abuse, toxicity, and the ways people do or do not survive that. Because not everyone does. Several members of Touka's class don't make it to the final chapters. A few others turn bad, twisted by the way the world around them works. Quite a few wind up pretty damaged.
I started with the anime, and was intrigued enough to go to the light novel. I'd absolutely recommend the series. The anime, being released over time in smaller chunks, might take more patience.
Look, I yell that I hate the BT and DZ fandom (and honestly the Jrock fandom in general) a lot. Not everyone tho, my friends are BT and DZ fans, they are the evidence to me that not everyone is trash. And I have spoken to some people online that... well the chats die or we don't really get along too well but they weren't bad people at all, not getting along isn't enough for me to scream they suck cause sometimes stuff just doesn't work and that's fine.
I wanna explain what I mean when I yell about the trash of the fandom. I won't be giving names (except one), but I will be giving reasons.
We have:
Clowns who go "minors DNI" but will send and request nudes when in contact with 17 year olds AND UNDER or write insanely sexual stuff around them. (17 is still a minor, pedos, and everything under that age is even fucking worse)
People who claim Atsushi was abusive towards his cats cause the cat pics are "clearly" just for attention... like bruh, there are quite some cat pics, sure, especially of Tsubaki... but do you even realize for how many years this man had cats? Compared to those years, there aren't many pics at all... that is like just a few pics per year, probably not even once a month. If he wanted to "exploit his cats for attention" he would have made a social media where he would show content of his cats daily doing the weirdest shit with them. Did he? No. He wasn't abusive.
Fuckers that claim Atsushi was a predator, especially towards young girls... uhhuh, look idk if you've seen this man before but if he would go after anyone it'd be your grandparents.
We have some hypocrite clowns who will indirectly call your work or art trash or will otherwise offend you and then yeet a "lol" behind it.
Clowns without a personality who just copy whoever the fuck they last spoke to, different person every week the fucking mysteryboxes of the fandom and sadly they often copy someone from the rest of this list.
People who want to share content but if the content is already online, will bully the other uploader to take it down (have heard too many stories about this, too many people had it happen to them but haven't seen it myself. Yet, Ive heard it more than once so I believe it)
Ableists... yeah people, autism and ADHD really do exist, other mental illnesses can also make people be a bit weird sometimes, some of us are really struggling with it... it's not fake news -_-
Stalkers.
Art thiefs.
Hypocrites (will complain about what someone else did and then do the exact same like it isn't an issue anymore suddenly)
And as much as I want to avoid names... if I have to explain this one we'll be here for a month so uh... if I say "Gekka Reijin" most people will understand what I mean cause holy FUCK get professional help...
Like I am also not a fan of gatekeepers, people who are insanely quickly offended even if you didnt mean to offend them and they won't forgive it no matter what (like bruh I say sorry and didn't even mean it the way you all see it but whatever I guess. Why did this happen several times I am literally trying to be careful about what I say and how I say it. Idk what to do anymore about this), people who will fight you over having a different opinion and people that just suddenly ignore you while you don't even know wtf happened (like wtf just tell me what your problem is cause idk what I did)... but they aren't necessarily bad people, I just don't work with them but they are NOT what I mean when I'm bitching about the fandom... even tho I don't like em. It's the disgusting fuckers that I yell about.
Anyway my DMs are open ONLY to people who do NOT identify with this goddamn list. If you are like any part of the list, please do not speak to me.
Minors can talk to me but not about NSFW topics.
P.S. I'm also not a fan of the VK war fighters. BT is VK or BT isn't VK. Toll said they aren't VK but if someone wants to believe BT is VK then whatever... no need to start a whole war about it. Also other Jrock related social wars like just let people be... like you can yell about it, sure, but omg don't scream at people specifically and call them names just cause you don't agree with em.
i know oda is the blorbo of all time if im remembering correctly, but what's your top 5 bungo favs?
AAAAAA
omygosh!! An ask from you??
Sure!! Hmm.. tbh besides Oda, I haven't really thought about it that much. But I'll think hold on
******************** (pending) *******
5 bungo favs (besides Oda 🤭)
BEAST Atsushi
: ugh. something about how he is literally how Atsushi would be like if Atsushi was in the PM. There's just something that attracts me to him. Like most characters in BSD, he isn't evil and doesn't enjoy the things he does. He's deeply traumatized. He has a shy-kind personality but is placed in the PM where he's made to be a murderer. Interestingly, he isn't as obsessed with BEAST Dazai's approval as Akutagawa was with Canon Dazai (maybe bc Dazai liked Atsushi more? idk..) But BEAST Atsushi has sm going for him and I'm curious about his life after BEAST. I'd like to see more of it ❤️ (don't even get me started on the fanarts of BEAST Atsushi meeting lit. anyone in the Canon world).
2. Verlaine
: This bad boy can fit so much trauma inside him. What makes humans human? What makes him worthy of human dignity when he's just a bunch of codes? Honestly his thoughts and existential crisis is tragic. The fact that he wanted to raise chuuya in the countryside too 😭 and how he helped Chuuya save the world because deep down he knew one person who he thought deserved to live. How he hasn't moved on from said person. How he trains PM assasins to become weapons for the Port Mafia even though he's gone through the same thing. How he (both metaphorically and physically) isn't in the light because he's literally been rotting in a basement for 6 years. No friends. No family. Nothing outside that interests him. With no purpose other than teaching because Rimbaud used to teach too. No one in the mafia can reach him emotionally. He could be like BEAST Dazai tbh. I can see it. Except rimbaud is dead so Verlaine just decided to.. stay in a basement and rot. Someone bring him out of there please 😭😭
(also in another version of BSD I thought of in my head, I gave him a sort of backstory so that increased my personal attachment lol)
And speaking of the guy Verlaine misses...
3. Rimbaud
: This guy... has so much love to give. Idk much about his past but he was a government spy. As I've seen others mention, He may have had to abandon family members for his job. By the time he met Verlaine, he must have been so lonely that he decided to pour all his love into this one partner whom he intended to be with forever. So. Dang. Selfless. Got betrayed by Verlaine. Still went to hell and back for him. Also Verlaine disliked him while he was still alive so there must have been so many moments where he got hurt by Verlaine (like that one birthday gift 😭) but he still kept trying to be a good friend and doing everything to make Verlaine happy. Even when he got amnesia, Verlaine was the one thing he remembered. He didn't even expect Verlaine to apologize!!! Like?? Instead HE was the one who apologized for not understanding Verlaine. He held no grudges whatsoever. My gosh. That's true love right there. He gave Verlaine his all and expected nothing in return. Even when Verlaine betrayed him or didn't appreciate him or was mean to him, he cared sm. Even in his dying moments, his main concern was Verlaine. ouch.
Besides that, he's VERY cool. His ability slays (literally) and his long black hair is just 😫✨
Rimbaud should've picked me instead. I would've treated him much better than Verlaine did 🤭🙄 /j
4: Mori Ogai
OHHHH~ controversial character alert ‼️
Hehe alright. *cracks knuckles*
I initially didn't have much feelings for Mori. I thought he was a pedo and hated him as a villain (cause of how much of a threat he was and what he did to the characters) but I also didn't think about him a lot. And it was hard for me to grasp his character.
Thankfully though, the BSD fandom made me change my mind after a while 🤭
@the-boss-of-the-port-mafia made this amazing compilation of Mori analyses that made me appreciate him more.
also my tumblr bestie @plinko-mori helped me understand him <3
Long story short, tumblr made me realize 2 things:
a. Mori may not actually be a pedo
b. He's more emotional than he lets on
^^ This description was made by Asagiri himself 😶
anyways onto my rambling abt Mori 😭
I like him. I think he's badass. He's giving anti-hero vibes ✨ and he's also tragic in a way because he's doing what he thinks is best for Yokohama and the PM even if he has to be ruthless about it. At heart, he has good intentions. He hates war. He hates needless violence (he disliked the previous bloodthirsty boss; suggested that his death would leave to even more violence during the guild arc; has not once been shown to enjoy committing violence for kicks and giggles; etc). He manipulated Yosano because he thought it was the optimal solution and would result in them winning. He planned Oda's death because again, it was the optimal solution and would result in the mafia winning + less casualties. If there's a conflict, Mori is the guy who will pick the fastest, most convenient solution even if it means getting his hands dirty. He'll always pick the lesser evil with no hesitation.
While characters like Fitzgerald/Dazai/Junichiro would sacrifice the world to save their loved ones, Mori would sacrifice his feelings/loved ones to save the world (not that he's extremely attached to anyone. this guy is very lonely lol. His face when he told Koyou that she could leave the PM and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it shows just how much he's resigned to losing people.)
That being said, it does hurt him when he loses people.
This post by @hina-has-no-life explains very well his regret towards Dazai and Yosano 😭
In BEAST, he didn't have to play the role of the mafia boss hence, he showed his softer sides and treated Atsushi like a son, even admitting that he regrets not being able to help Dazai.
so..yeah. There's something interesting about a villain who forces himself to ignore his emotions for the sake of doing 'the greater good.'
Yes, Mori is manipulative, makes millions from exploiting people via the PM, has done many bad things, will continue to do bad things --but he does have a heart (even if he constantly ignores it lol).
It's also worth mentioning that apparently the management in Yokohama is so bad, the Port Mafia (a literal criminal org) is the one responsible for keeping the crime rate in check (considering bsd Yokohama gets bombed like every month tho, Ig that checks out 😭)
Anywy. Mori. yeah, he's shades of grey (the darker side). Like Dazai, he can act like a silly uncle sometimes. His backstory is so cool with lots of potential.
From military doctor (holy hell. military doctors in history are usually involved in a LOT of shady things) to an underground doctor (uhm. how and why?) to finally, the boss of the Port Mafia.
so interesting. and so much potential.
The quote, "I must be cruel to be kind" suits him quite well.
About the mafia though - I do wonder what he does being filthy rich 🤭 besides the constant ignoring of emotions, I'm sure he must have some greed or ambition in there. That makes him even more nuanced imo.
Ahhhh
and last but not the least:
Mr. Bungou himself
this man, I-
***if I had to insert every single analysis of this guy that I like, my PC would crash LOL***
I won't elaborate too much since Ikyk hehe 🤭
hmm..
I hated Dazai at first cause I felt he was overrated. While watching the anime, I was annoyed that Dazai seemed to be able to solve everything and that no one could defeat him and that he was presented as this 'untouchable figure' of sorts. I'm like, 'WHY DOES HE KEEP WINNING' as if he's omniscient or something like a deus ex machina 😭
overtime, I grew to like him tho (mostly because of Oda LOL 😂)
BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT
his character is interesting (especially in the LNs. I think he's more nuanced in there than in the anime).
I like how he's clearly hiding his heart from everyone around him. He doesn't open up to anyone. Doesn't reveal his plans unless he deems it necessary. manipulates team mates in certain situations (ex: what he did to aku and atsushi). continues to act like a jerk (messes kunikida's plans for fun; belittles akutagawa, etc.)
He's a manipulative jerk with little empathy for strangers but he's trying to fight for the good side. he's trying to save people. he's trying to be better. (and he is actually being better).
Reminds me a lot like Jouno tbh haha.
he's also a little menace with a dark but goofy side to him.
In the BSD rewrite fic I have in my little head, I like to imagine PM Dazai as somewhat like Mahito from jjk. (In the sense that he's an absolute nightmate, truly the "Demon prodigy" whose "blood is blacker than the mafia" but who also has a very childish feel to him).
Ik it's implied that Dazai did in fact commit atrocities like killing innocent people, killing mafia suboordinates who were subpar, torturing people, etc. but I'd like to see more of that. I'd like to see PM Dazai actually hurting someone the audience cares for and being evil instead of it just being told to us by the narrator/other characters.
Like yes, we got bits of his 'evilness' in SB, Dark Era and BEAST but Ig I just want more of that on focus 🤭
like, don't just tell me 'His blood is blacker than the mafia.'
Make me FEEL chills from reading him; make me think, 'oh this kid is really a devil spawn. I hate him' before moving onto dark era and making me surprised that 'dang. i never thought i could feel bad for this dude.'
idk it's prob just a preference I have. 😅
Same with the PM too. I wish we got to see them doing more of their exploitative work to better understand it when characters describe them as 'the demons of Yokohama' or something along those lines. Cause from season 1-3 (of the anime), they kind of...felt less threatening? Season 4-5 was quite a ride though.
ANYWAY MOVING BACK TO DAZAI
The face of BSD. Mr. Bungou 🤭🤭 I think he's a very cool and interesting character. I want him to cry lol.
I want him to LOSE IT in the main manga before the series ends and see what happens.
RN, he's bottling up a lot and is using different masks. It would be interesting to see him being himself more.
aand that's all hehe 🤭😄
Honourable mentions:
✨Adam ✨
"N" <- interesting because despite being who he is, he apparently genuinely cared for his younger brother, Murase. I just find those kinds of things interesting ig..
******
Also it is with great shame that I confess..
I haven't finished reading Stormbringer yet LOL 🤪🤡🤡
(but I did read some spoilers 😂😭)
so if there are any inaccuracies regarding that, please feel free to correct me <33
******* end ******
RANDOM:
Idk I just wanted to share this cause it's funny and (kind of) related.
But a bsd tiktok account I follow used to be named
Ngh~Chuuya~H-Harder~
(yes the fandom is insane 😂😭)
but recently, they changed it to
Ngh~Beast Atsushi~H-Harder~
and I found that funny for some reason lol.
****
anywy thank you for the ask!!! I hope you liked it hehe 🤭❤️❤️❤️❤️
#thank you for the ask cousticks!#TT <333333#aww u missed me HEHEHEHE#mwaa *blows kiss#asks#my asks#bsd#bsd characters#tw: slight dazai and bsd criticism ig#this is in no particular order btw#tho dazai prob ranks 1st on the list#cuz i think abt him a lot
Juuzou feels a little odd walking through this particular section of Herta Space Station without Atsushi's company but, at the same time, at the moment he couldn't care less; it's really his least important problem right now.
Besides, it's not like he's explicitly not allowed in there, nor completely alone - there's a researcher accompanying him, even though he'd much rather be alone - and he's staying away from restricted zones, too. No one should give a shit - Juuzou certainly doesn't - and if they do, it's not his problem, because he has much more important things on his mind. Such as the fact that, apparently, none of the researchers Atsushi is usually working with bothered to check on him, even after it turned out he hasn’t been responding to any texts or calls for almost three hours. Juuzou can understand many things, really; the space station employs too many researchers for all of them to be able to know everyone else, most of them are usually busy, too, but surely someone’s closest coworkers would have at least some vague idea about what’s happening to that person, no?
The woman following him surely must’ve realized that too - or maybe he just scared her too much; either way, she’s quiet, with an almost guilty look on her face. She’s somewhat struggling to keep up with him, but right now, he struggles to care.
It's only when they finally arrive at the door to the archive, and he stops for a moment, waiting for the researcher to let him in, that his anger seems to dissipate - at least a little. It's now replaced by his growing worry; it's not completely unlike Atsushi to not answer him for a long while, either. He tends to work a lot - perhaps a bit too much - and during that time, he usually doesn't answer his phone, that's understandable. But for him to just… Disappear, like that?
He steps deeper inside; the researcher follows after him but stops near the door, seemingly a little hesitant to follow him, and Juuzou can't say he's particularly upset about it. It's not like he needs her help to find Atsushi, either - though at first the room seems empty, he spots a familiar silhouette soon enough.
“Atsushi?”
Their friend is lying on his desk, with his eyes closed; Juuzou’s heart nearly skips a beat when they see it, but as they come closer, they're relieved to realize that he's just sleeping. Still, he… Doesn't look good; even asleep he seems tired, his face has a sickly look to it, and Juuzou can see dark circles under his eyes. When they reach out their hand to touch his forehead and check his temperature, though, Atsushi opens his eyes. He seems confused, for just a moment - before he recognizes Juuzou, and immediately pulls himself up.
“Juuzou?” he says. He sounds almost nervous, and their gaze softens. “I… Sorry, I promise I didn’t forget you were visiting today, I just fell asleep and—”
“Atsushi.” They interrupt him, but their voice is gentle; if anyone else heard them right now, they would be surprised, because that's not how they sound when talking to others usually; they're not rude to everyone around them, obviously, but their voice also isn't soft like that. “It’s alright.”
For a moment, Atsushi looks like he wants to disagree, but ultimately, he only lets out a quiet sigh.
“Okay,” he says and smiles softly. He yawns, covering his mouth with his hand, and adjusts his glasses. “Please give me a moment, I need to finish something here, then we can go.
Juuzou gives him a small nod, and leans against the desk, waiting for Atsushi to finish up his work; they're listening to what he's talking about, but they have trouble focusing right now. Their thoughts keep circling back to how tired their friend looks, and they can't help but wonder how much exactly Atsushi has been sleeping recently, and how much has he been allowing himself to relax. It wouldn't be the first time he neglected that, really; Juuzou supposes, though, that before they confront him about it they might wait for a bit longer; at least until the two of them are somewhere alone.
The "Atsushi's parents Cannabalism headcannon" I'm not gonna go it, if you know you know.
I get why people hold onto it, we know literally nothing about Atsushi's parents except that they abandoned him in a bin and the whole "compared to what your parents did to you, this doesn't even count as abuse.
So people think what's the worst we can think of and it's that. And I hate it, I really do.
The "Naomi is actually an illusion" headcannon. I think it's a fun idea but it's the insistence that it's canon that I don't like.
I also don't like the Dazai has Atsushi do his paper work headcannon. I absolutely think he tries, we see it once in canon but I don't think Atsushi would actually do it.
Or that Kunikida would allow it.
And finally, the "Chuuya is a big brother to Q" headcannon. Listen I love big brother Chuuya. It's fun and it makes sense given his past and how deeply he cares about his subordinates.
But oh my God Chuuya doesn't like Q.
He was going to let Dazai kill Q. Despite having orders to bring them back alive. He absolutely thinks Q be better off dead for everyone's sake and that he'd never forgive them for the friends they've killed.
He doesn't care about Q at all. Like make him anyone else's older brother figure. We know he cares about Akutugawa. He's probably had to babysit Elise. I can see him caring for Kyouka even after she leaves.
But not Q.
do u guys have like a fanon widely accepted headcanon u very much disagree with ? im not talking about ships, but just small headcanons everyone thinks of as canon but u
mine is obvious since i never shut up about it, but the dazai makes atsushi do his paper work
Hello there, I've recently stumbled on your feed for not too long ago and it got me hooked on your works! I really like them! If it's okay for you, can you do an HC of Atsushi, Akutagawa, Dazai and Chuuya with s/o who appears to be cruel, ruthless and sadistic? But eventually learns how to care for them but is too dishonest of their feeling so she just put up a tough act rather than admitting that they deeply care of them(which they may also show worry in the battles when these boy can handle themselves fine at all, not unless something happened (◍•ᴗ•◍))
- …ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ
Thank you, lovely! I started this blog on a whim about two months ago and I've been kind of overwhelmed by how sweet and supportive the fandom is.
Characters: Nakajima Atsushi, Akutagawa Ryuunosuke, Dazai Osamu, Nakahara Chuuya
Contents: mentions of past abuse, mentions of past violence
Nakajima Atsushi
Oh, boy.
Atsushi doesn't like to think of himself as a coward but the sheer level of menace coming off you when you first meet him is enough to send him running with his tail between his legs. Figuratively, of course.
He immediately assumes you hate him. Atsushi's emotionally intelligent most of the time, but anyone that reminds him the proctor of his orphanage or more recently, Akutagawa, overrides that by triggering his anxiety. He'll go out of his way to avoid you because he doesn't want to be pinned under that cold stare.
It will take an outside source, most likely Dazai, to give him the right nudges until he realises that you do actually care about him, even if you deny it vehemently. It's still hard for him to lower his guard around you, but he's not actively avoiding you anymore. It's enough of a change for more of a connection to grow.
Actually getting together is a slow process. Sorry, you're going to have to open up and show that softer side sometimes. Atsushi won't jump into a relationship with anyone who can't show they care about him, even a little. He needs reassurance or his anxiety will creep up and fill his mind with doubts, about his self-worth, about your relationship, etc.
Akutagawa Ryuunosuke
Cruel, ruthless, and sadistic are three qualities that will guarantee you a long career in the Port Mafia, so it's nothing out of the ordinary that Akutagawa is used to dealing with. If you are in the mafia, at first he sees you as just a competent colleague, which is still a big compliment coming from him.
If you're not in the mafia, there is still a sort of baseline mutual acknowledgement of your similar outlooks on life. Akutagawa understands why you are the way that you are. Mercy is for fools, strength gives you the right to live, and violence is justice. Those are the rules he grew up learning and the ones he sticks by.
Not that things are smooth sailing.
I'm sure the two of you are more than capable of saying cruel things to piss the other person off, so your relationship can either be a cold, frozen over lake, or a shifting, jagged sea of ice floes, full of cracks.
It takes him even longer than Atsushi (do not say that to his face) to realise that you are harbouring any kind of feelings for him. And longer still to realise that it is mutual.
His eyes narrow when he sees through your scathing retort about his last battle. You're worried about him?
"Absurd."
Dazai Osamu
To Dazai, you're as transparent as a window. You didn't have him fooled for a second. He's a veteran of the Port Mafia, so you're far from the first sadist he's ever met. Dazai himself is capable of exceptional ruthlessness—you only need to look at how he trained Akutagawa and the way he plays with the people around him to understand that.
Furthermore, he knows exactly how much of it is a front, which will no doubt be infuriating for you.
Dazai's an absolute menace. He'll get a kick out of teasing you, trying to poke holes in your facade, because he knows what lies beneath but he wants to see it. If he ever catches you being soft for even a split second, he'll never let you live it down.
And if you try throwing up a tough facade after that, he'll weasel his way around it, even to the point of faking an injury to make you think he's on death's door.
"Are you crying, bella? I knew you really liked me—ow, don't hit me!"
Nakahara Chuuya
Chuuya's more of a pragmatist than a sadist, but he is definitely capable of being ruthless. If he has to kill for the Port Mafia, then he will, and usually without a flicker of guilt or regret. He loves a good fight, but I don't feel like he takes pleasure in sadism—unless the target is that asshole, Dazai.
So, while he respects your ruthlessness, he will try to curb your sadistic tendencies if you end up going on missions with him. Like when Dazai mercy-killed a GSS soldier, then proceeded to desecrate the corpse by shooting it repeatedly. Chuuya didn't see the point of it, since the deed was done.
There'll be rocky patches where he has to rein you in or when your sharp tongue flips the wrong trigger switch in his brain. You'll argue. A lot. He's not the most intuitive guy in the world, so he takes you at face level for a long time. Actually, he probably thinks you hate him and just puts up with it when he has to deal with you.
When your mask slips and you show a flicker of concern when he's in the middle of a fight or a dangerous mission, he's flabbergasted. You, of all people, are worried about him?
"If I didn't know better, doll, I'd think ya cared."
