Dr. Minister: [rallying his Staff in the crumbling corridors of the Sanctuary] I'm telling you, if we left now in force, we would have no problem at all taking over those other ridiculous domains and making them socially compliant! They wouldn't stand a chance against our tried and true methods! Don't you want to bring everyone into harmony with our will? Don't you want to make sure everyone is corrected?

Staff: [glancing at each other nervously, fiddling with syringes and batons]

Dr. Minister: [slightly frustrated] We are the best of the best! Leaders in social compliance therapy! It is our duty to bring this mind to heel! [marches to the door and throws it open] What could possibly stand against --

Fury: [standing just outside the door, sharpening his Hysterical version of the Grim Scythe, not looking at Dr. Minister at all]

Queen of Hearts: [standing next to Fury, tentacles curling around her, looking straight at Dr. Minister with a big, fang-filled smile]

Dr. Minister:

Dr. Minister: [very slowly closes the door]

Queen of Hearts: [pouts] Damn it.

I think its a rite of passage to make an au at least once, and ive been thinking super hard about how Sonic raised tails lately. So obviously an age swap au had to happen. Tbh I’ve just been call it Ithacan Naga, but it’s objectively it’s a mix of snake, owl/bird, and human. So 🤷.

Tbh the wings are supposed to be white/gray-brown, cause owls & Hermes, while his scales are supposed to be an oscillating scale from sea green-blue to purple-tinted gray. Uhm. Evidently that sorta didn’t happen but also did. So.

The purple/grayer scales are gonna be more around with the feathers and wings.

Those fin colors are. Too blue and too bright but I love the colors themselves so they’re staying for now.

I will say I'm disappointed that they're using the same Title Event style as usual. BUT! I appreciate that they tried to spice it up by adding a Hard Mode with new maps included. Plus, next update will see a return to rhe Labyrinth style event (like in Dessert Paradise), which will be such a relief. I miss the fuck out of the old main events, man. They were all so fun and unique. I genuinely don't know why they changed it to the exact same boring coin collecting shit. But at least they're trying to listen to player feedback this time, I suppose. Hopefully the trend continues

As for what I want to happen in the story... My big bad wish has always been this: I want Longan Dragon to surrender. I've wanted this for ages. I think it would be a lot more thematically powerful if Longan chose to stand down and cease his machinations of his own accord. Not because he's suddenly gained any love or empathy for mortals, but because he can't bring himself to destroy the other dragons. Those 4 are his family. They are the only ones who ever meant anything to him. You can tell, underneath his cold personality, that Longan genuinely does care about them, in his own way. It would be more meaningful if Longan decided to put them and their wants first, like family is supposed to do for one another, and let them win. There's no change of heart, there's no sudden realization of the value of life or acceptance of change or anything. Longan just can't (or he can, but he won't) get rid of his family in order to achieve his goal. They're all he has left. In the end, he's doing all of this for them; because he thinks it's what they need most (and because he's a stone-faced tyrant with a disdain for any life that exists outside the sphere of his absolute control, of course). He thinks he's doing them a favor. A service. Just this one time, I want Longan to place THEIR wishes above his own. Maybe it's a silly idea but idk. I like themes about family and sacrifice. It's certainly more interesting than just "everyone bands together and defeats Longan with the power of friendship" lol

Also Gingerbrave better not actually do anything. I'm honestly tired of him being there lol. I'm tired of him being everywhere tbh. He somehow pops up in every story even though it has nothing to do with him really. Go away kid, not everything is about you

When I first got into Kirby, I didn't expect to like, actually get into it. I thought it'd be like any other hyperfixation I'd had up to that point, that it would go away within a few months and I'd never think about it again.

Given I was so deeply in denial, I didn't care about being fully accurate and had some stuff that was really goofy and/or underdeveloped and unexplained. Stuff I'd made up to just work for the limited time I would be there.

Still, I came up with a few headcanons that I got attached to, and when I started realizing this was here to stay, I still chose to be stubborn and had to work backwards to keep these stupid headcanons, but adapt them into something a bit more fitting and polished.

It led to some cool stuff, like for example, my orbs aren't very magical, this was something I had settled on early on. But after I got invested, I had to think about what that actually meant and the implications of it like, how can they do this without magic? And what about that? What about this canon thing, how do I explain it?

I found decent enough explanations for all of these. But as a result of my unserious beginnings and continued stubborness, now I get really embarrassed at the time to actually talk about my headcanons and the stuff I've come up with.

Because what do you mean your Galacta Knight is half-dragon?

I never expected them to be grateful for being "saved," I'd just think it's certainly a choice for them to Most Mad at the only guy who wasn't going to let them rot. But if it's a "we need someone to blame" then that makes sense.

Even if he wasn’t gonna let them rot, he WAS gonna take them out with him had his True Ending Sacrifice gone as it had in the game. They don’t know this, this is just extra DoobYi characterization. But he wasn’t expecting to be alive, either tbh.

That said, he takes the public opinion of him and the Sols very seriously and doesn’t blame them even if sometimes the grievances are heavy-handed. This is a Yi who will apologize many times over for the actions of the council, for the failure of the project, for the lies and the lives ruined, both apemen and solarian, and for the individual hurts he’s caused to Kuafu, Goumang, Shaunshuan and Heng. If Eigong and many of the other Sols are not here to share the responsibility, then he will shoulder the blame, as he believes he should. Even if, y’know, everyone who IS glad he didn’t die is telling him to knock it off.

I haven't actually finished either of their WL POVs (Blasphemous as a self-proclaimed Jimmy Main, I know) so IDK how well I can touch on that one, but I did see that clip of Grian joining their phasmo thing late that's floating around and I lost my mind. Have this modern au?? Phasmo au??? IDK but here you go!

Grian sank deeper into the couch cushions, watching some rerun of an ancient Top Gear episode on the TV in front of him. The sound is so low it might as well be muted in favor of listening to Jimmy off in the kitchen, rummaging around in cupboards as they waited for Joel to arrive.

On the screen, Hammond spun out just in time for Jimmy's voice to peak, some offended crescendo about the story he was telling. Something about someone at work.

For the first time in days, Grian felt his lungs fill, untrapped by the vice of panic or stress. He made some sort of noise in response to Jimmy asking if he could believe all of that. He tried to focus on the words, knowing that Jimmy would be more offended at him not listening than he had been at the lady in his story, but relaxation was stealing over him in waves, pulling the steel and the energy from his limbs the longer he sat there.

Jimmy's voice was much closer when he snorted, placing down a mug on the table in front of Grian. He didn't remember telling him what he wanted in his tea, but the label that spun in front of them was his favorite brew. Warmth steeped through him.

"Budge up," Jimmy said, the words floating down through the syrup of Grian's mind instead of crashing through and jarring him back to consciousness. He shuffled back into a mostly upright position, "are you falling asleep on me?"

“No,”Grian scoffed, leaving Jimmy more than enough time to settle in before he slid sideways again so that he could lean heavily on Jimmy’s shoulder. He hooked a grin up at him. “Now I’m falling asleep on you.”

“You utter-I'm not that boring, am I?” Jimmy groused, reaching for the remote. Grian kicked at the coffee table with his foot, scooting it enough that the remote was out of reach.

“As boring as you always are,” Grian said, if only because he couldn’t seem to untangle the emotions caught in the warm mixture in his chest, at least not in a way where he could pull them apart and explain them to Jimmy. “Maybe I’m just tired,” he said, trying to call up a haughty tone, “maybe it’s got nothing to do with you.”

Jimmy grumbled something more under his breath, but shifted so that Grian was resting comfortably at his side, instead of just smushed against him.

"Go on, then,” Jimmy said, settling back against the armrest so they were both halfway to horizontal. “Joel can wake us up when he gets here.”

Grian hid a smile against Jimmy’s shoulder.

“Glad you see things my way.”

and now i'm cackling imagining henry's poor gay heart the first time alex does this bc it would either be like alex just facetiming henry out of the blue the way he did on thanksgiving in the book

or what i believe to be the infinitely funnier scenario which is alex sending henry a "u up?" text at like 4 o'clock in the morning london time

and like. world-class insomniac henry probably is awake but he still gets the jumpscare of his little gay life and thinks maybe he actually is dreaming for a minute because did his crush actually just send him a "u up" text wtf is his life

but then it's followed three seconds later by "the baby won't go to sleep and i'm bored wanna facetime" and henry snaps back to reality because that makes so much more sense and he lets out a little sigh of relief but he's also highkey disappointed

(he definitely runs to the nearest mirror to check his hair and possibly changes into a cuter t-shirt before he answers the call but that's his business)
