'I'm not falling for it, yanno? Your act.' His words were quiet, cigarette lifted to his lips. He had a tendency to do that; drop in, unexpected. 'I see right through you; you're drowning everyday. It takes one, to know one.' He paused, head dropping back. 'That's we fight and fuck, cause we're running from something. Yet no matter how much alcohol and sex, it's never enough is it? Still the waves are rising. The tide won't turn.' A drag and he let out a light laugh. 'It's fucking bullshit. All of it and you know what? You can't run forever. You can't run from yourself.'
He has a habit of being really fucking annoying is what he has a habit of.
The fucking audacity of him spawning in like some NPC triggered by an event. And to talk to her, like he knows anything about her, like he can understand anything shes been through, like they're the same. Fuck him.
The anger rises through her core and settles in her chest, making her feel like she could explode at any moment. Every single word that follows the first pushes and pushes her. Rage building like a volcano getting ready to erupt. Will it be explosive? Or will she calmly tear him apart while she does her nails? Which ones worse? Her cold anger? Or her fiery rage?
Katherine's dangerous either way when shes angry, when she's hurt. She is both right now, angry AND hurt- Why? Because he's right. Because she's done everything she has for the past 500 years either running from something, or chasing something, or BOTH.
She doesn't remember who she was, she doesn't know who she IS.
All she knows is that she's ALONE and she HATES IT.
Finally her control breaks and she speaks, unable to help the impulse to lash out any longer. He hasn't done anything wrong, he hasn't harmed her, but he's seen her- and in a lot of ways that's the worst thing you can do to Katherine Pierce.
"I'm not putting on an act, and if I was, it sure as shit wouldn't be for your entertainment, so quite frankly? You don't have to buy it. I don't care."
"You don't know the first thing about how I feel, or what goes on in my head. You can act like you do all day, and you can even pull that astrology bullshit and vaguely describe anyone whos ever dealt with trauma ever and it will sure sound like you know what you're talking about."
"But you don't fucking know me. And you never fucking will. I'm not interested in being your trauma buddy, I'm not interested in patching up each others wounds, I'm not interested in drowning my sorrows with you, or being friends, or whatever else you hope these little heart to hearts turn into. I don't care."
"I'm not your wife. So stop pretending you fucking care about me, because we both know its only out of some fucked up guilt you're projecting on to me."

A/n: God, I love this more than I love myself. This is one of my favorites.

.......................................
She didn't take his hand when she dismounted her horse.
She was too stubborn of a woman, Cregan often thought.
She was a Bracken, and Brackens were nothing if not stubborn as mules.
The war did nothing to bridge the gap. In fact, it made it only grow.
A Bracken married to the Wolf who fought for the Blacks.
It seemed ridiculous.
Now, married for a few months, nothing had changed.
Her feet hit the ground, and she smoothed out her dress. "Ready, Lord Husband?" She asked out of politeness and nothing more.
Cregan let out a soft sigh.
She was gorgeous, if only she wasn't so stubborn.
…
The brass woman confused Cregan more and more every day.
He stepped out into the courtyard at his usual time to spar, but paused.
She angrily swung her sword at the dummy, the sound of the fabric ripping filling the air.
He cursed under his breath at the sight of her legs now clad in pants. It awoken something in him.
"Good morrow, wife."
She turned, the tip of the sword falling to the ground as she looked at him. Sweat dripped from her forehead, her hair a mess around her face.
Gods, she was beautiful.
She tipped her head at him as she panted. "Good morrow, husband. Am- Am I in your way? I apologize. I usually train in the afternoon but I find this cooler morning weather quite lovely."
He hummed, trying to stay focused. "As do I. Hence why I spar then. Please, don't let me interrupt you."
"No," she insists as she brushes her forearm across her forehead. "A break will do me well. Perhaps I'll stop here."
She grabbed her things and began to walk away.
"How is it that I've not seen you training until now, wife? You've been here four months now." He hums, "Strange, don't you think?"
"Not in the slightest," she retorted over her shoulder. "Why would I want my husband to know of my swordsmanship?"
He watched her walk off, trying not to focus too closely on her ass.
…
While Cregan was frustrated at the war, he was no monster. So, he allowed Aeron Bracken, her brother, to write to her often. The only criterion was that Cregan had to read the letters back and forth when sent and received. He was to be the one to break the seal when received and the one to send hers off. It was a fair deal, honestly more than fair.
"His respect for me and my people stopped the moment I declared my army the Queen's. Even after our wedding," he grimaced. He threw the paper down onto the desk. "Has he always spoken of me this way?"
She shook her head. "I fear the war is beginning to drive him mad. He's an angry man, driven by whatever angers our father the most." She leaned back in her chair. "If it eases your mind at all, I often ignore those parts of his letters."
It did ease his mind to hear her small proclamation, no matter how slightly backhanded it seemed.
"How will you respond?"
She sighed and stood. "I won't."
His mouth opened, but by the time he thought of something to say, she was gone.
…
Cregan stayed in the courtyard the entire next day. He blamed it on his frustration and stress for the upcoming war but in all reality?
He was waiting for her to come train again.
Various men and servants came to him to try to beckon him indoors to deal with urgent matters, but he'd send them away, not wanting to leave for even a moment.
And eventually, she did show.
But only for a moment.
She stepped out and paused at the sight of Cregan there. She looked around in confusion and a slight bit of frustration, then stomped back indoors.
That cute fucking furrow in her brow had him beginning to think things a gentleman never would.
…
He decided to try again the next day, hoping that this time, he could catch her before she stomped off.
But Cregan underestimated the Bracken's intelligence, for she had peeked from various balconies throughout the day to view the courtyard. And seeing that he was still there, she ducked back indoors.
How infuriating.
…
That night, Cregan stretched from his chair in his solar. The workload was getting to him, especially when he had to complete it all in the night hours due to his daytime activities.
He brought his hands to his face, as if he could rub away the sleeping hormones that began to control his brain.
A distance sound made his head perk up.
He moved to his window, daring to peak out into the night.
In the courtyard stood his bride, lit only by torchlight, stabbing away at a sparring dummy.
He wanted to be angry. He really did. How foolish was this woman to be out alone like this?
But it filled him with pride more.
He found himself stepping away from the window and through the doorway, barely grabbing his cloak in time.
He stepped out into the cold air outdoors, smiling at the sight of his wife. "Bit dark for training, don't you think?"
It startled her enough that she dropped the heavy longsword, trying to ignore the sound of it hitting the ground. She spun around.
He expected her to laugh at that, or at least find joy in that fact that he noticed her presence out here. But no. She was infuriated.
"What the hell are you playing at?"
He took a step back in shock. "I don't know what you mean."
She huffed, placing a hand on her hip, the other in her hair to rub at her scalp. "Will you not let me have the night either? If this is too unladylike for you, Lord Stark, just say so." She kicked at her sword. "Fucking take it then."
Cregan held his hands up, trying to remain calm despite her outburst. "I meant no harm."
"Oh, I'm sure you didn't." She lets out a humorless laugh. "You only occupy the courtyard from dawn until dusk, knowing well that this is the one thing I have here."
Cregan's jaw fell a bit at that. "I hadn't thought of it that way. I only wished-"
"What?" She stepped up to him, though their height difference was much, the anger in her eyes made up for it. "What does the great Wolf of the North wish for?"
"To see you happy," he admits softly before he can stop himself.
Her brows come together, the same look that makes Cregan have to shift his weight to his other leg.
"I'll go, wife. And I won't bother you again out here. That I swear."
The tension between the two was at a peak as they stared at one another.
He studied her as if it was the last time, and turned to walk back indoors.
"Cregan."
He immediately paused in his step, not even looking back at her.
Her voice was soft, something he'd not heard before. "If you want- I'd like a sparring partner."
His face lit up in a bright grin, but he wouldn't dare let her see it. "I'll be there."
And he stepped inside.
…
The next day, Cregan spent outdoors.
And when she appeared, he was beyond gleeful.
"How good exactly are you, Cregan Stark?" She asked as she reached for her sword.
Was that a tease?
He leaned over her back to grab his own, taking the opportunity to speak into her ear. "Very."
She tried to ignore the shiver that moved down her spine at the northman's husky voice.
She'd taken on larger opponents, but she feared that he was perhaps the best.
Aeron was good, but he was no Cregan Stark.
"Ready to weep for my mercy?" She further teased when they got into formation.
A genuine laugh came from him as he spun Ice in his hand. "I don't think I'll have to worry about that, my lady."
"You're no Aegon the Conqueror," she jabbed.
He took initiative, stepping forward and swinging the large blade through the air.
She blocked it easily enough, the sound of the metal scrapping filling their ears.
He pushed his blade against hers, trying to get the advantage. "I believe I'm more of a Maegor myself."
"More of a Torrhen."
They pulled away from one another, and Cregan's blade dropped a bit. "You mock my ancestor?"
She faltered, her face falling. "I didn't mean-"
Cregan used that to his advantage, using his sword to knock hers out of her hand. The tip of Ice touched her throat.
The two stared at one another, hers in shock, and his in amusement.
"Never let your guard down."
She had to manually remember how to shut her mouth, the shock getting to her, and then the small bit of anger came in. "What's the ancient saying? Ah, yes, 'Fuck you'."
Cregan couldn't stop the bright chuckle that erupted from his chest. He tapped the flat end of the blade against the underside of her chin, forcing her head up. "Careful there, or I'll think those words literal. What was it your brother called me? A 'dumb brute'? Perhaps you shouldn't overestimate my intelligence, Bracken."
When he lowered his blade, she felt herself take a small gasp of air, trying to bring oxygen to her heated cheeks. "You're not dumb or a brute," she defended.
"No? What am I, wife?" He asked softly.
Her mouth opened, but nothing came out. She hadn't meant to compliment him so openly, and now her defenses were vulnerable. "You're not… unintelligent."
He grinned, spinning his sword again. "Wow. What a compliment from a pretty girl. I fear I'm flushed."
She tried to ignore the tumble her stomach did when he called her pretty. "Well," she said as she bent down to pick up her sword, "I'm nothing if not honest." She adjusted her grip on it. "Again."
Cregan stared blankly, knowing he was head over heels for this girl.
…
He woke up better than he should have the next morning, beyond ecstatic for his sparring time with his wife.
He groaned and stood, ready to start his day.
His servant came in and began to help him dress, but there was a certain look to the man's eye.
"What?" Cregan asked.
"Hmm?" The man looked up. "Oh, nothing, my lord. Excuse me."
"No," he pushed. "Speak your mind, please. I encourage it."
The servant hesitated. "It's not mine to tell."
"Speak," Cregan ordered a little harsher.
"Your wife, my lord. The lady, she- she's inconsolable."
Cregan paused. "What?"
"There was a letter of some kind…?" He trailed off.
Cregan audibly growled. He dragged his tongue across the top row of his teeth to think carefully about his words. "From House Bracken? She broke the seal without me?"
"So I've been told, my lord."
"Where is she?" He asked a little too calmly.
"In the courtyard, I believe."
Cregan sighed. "Dress me for a spar."
…
Indeed she was outside, repeatedly swinging her sword without pause at the wooden dummy.
She was angry.
Her arms burned, her legs ached, sweat ran down her face in abundance, but her anger was too much to stop.
She swung back again only to feel the weight of her blade leave her hands.
"YOU BROKE MY TRUST," an angry voice sounded from behind her.
She whipped around.
Cregan stood, his towering frame only more intimidating with his anger. His eyes were set on her like a wolf spotting prey. Her longsword lay in his hand, his grip so tight that his knuckles were four shades lighter than the rest of him.
With his teeth bared like that, she finally understood all of the Stark/direwolf references.
"Give me my blade," she shot back.
He held it out of her reach. "Starks are honest. Noble. Trustworthy. You are no Stark."
She scoffed. "Cause I broke one seal?"
"It's more than that and you know it."
"Give. Me. My. Sword."
When she reached out for it, Cregan took his free hand to grab her jaw tightly. "What was in that letter?" He growled.
"Fuck you."
He pulled her closer, their breaths mixing in the cold air. "Tell me."
She spat in his face, throwing Cregan off.
Taking a play from his book, she used that to reach out and take her blade. She stepped back and pointed it at him. "Stay away from me."
"So eager to take advantage of my kindness, girl?"
She shook her head. "Kind? You're not kind at all. Hoping to lower my defenses and gain my trust, all while your war waged on in the background? Hardly a gentlemanly thing to do."
Her words made him falter for a moment. "What?"
"Oh, don't act so noble now, Stark." She waved the blade around as she spoke. "Parade me around while I remain clueless. I may be your Stark, but I am no traitor to anyone, much less my family."
"I never said you were," he said through gritted teeth. "Give me your sword. End this foolishness."
"I'd rather die."
Cregan forced himself to take a breath, reaching for Ice. "Don't do something you'll regret, wife."
"What will you do?" She held her arms up. "Kill me too? Just do it already."
"You fucking Bracken!" He yelled. "So caught up in yourself that you-" His head tilted and his voice softened immediately. "Kill you too? What does that mean?"
She shook her head. "Playing innocence? How noble indeed. Maybe you really are just a dumb bru-"
"-Watch your next words carefully, wife," he warned lowly. His patience was wearing thin.
"Yes, I broke the seal. Yes, I read the letter. Punish me, I don't care!" She almost threw her sword aside but stopped herself. "Would you have even told me?"
"Told you what?" He looked around in anger. "What are you even doing out here? Practicing to spear your husband?"
That was obviously the wrong thing to say, he noticed. Though he wasn't sure why.
She swung her sword at him in anger, and he retrieved Ice quick enough to block it.
She growled and let out a series of swings, each driving her a step forward and the Stark a step back.
Cregan was an expert swordsman, blocking each one. Her attacks were sloppy without a doubt, but the speed caused him to be on edge.
He soon found himself backed up against the wall of Winterfell where he had to block and push his blade against hers to keep her from getting the upper hand.
Their faces were close, the only separation being the blades between them.
Cregan studied her face. The furrowed brow, the soft complexion, the tears in her eyes.
"If this is how a Stark man consoles a woman in mourning," she whispered, "I want no part of you."
Seeing that her words hurt him more than her blade ever could, she backed away, throwing her sword in the dirt and storming off.
"My father had the decency to tell me since it seems my husband wouldn't," she yelled over her shoulder.
Cregan stayed against the wall in contemplation. "Your father never writes you," he yelled back.
"Exactly."
…
Aeron Bracken was dead.
Cregan ran his fingers across the ink over and over again, rereading the letter once he finished it.
Was he surprised? No. But if there was any noble death to a Bracken, it was challenging a Blackwood.
"Ashamed I read it without your leering shadow?" A small voice sounded from the door.
Cregan looked up at her, only seeing now just how distraught she was. Her eyes held a dullness to them now that he'd extinguished the fire in them earlier. Her cheeks seemed sunken in. He wasn't sure how that could even happen from news that was only heard hours before. Her shoulders that once held pride and stubborness were slumped in surrender. Even her dress seemed too heavy for her now.
"My condolences." That was all he knew to say.
She took in a shaky breath as hot tears began to fall down her face without warning.
Seems there was more to her than the anger she always hid behind.
"I should have written to him that day," she cried as she looked at Cregan. "Why didn't I write to him when I had the chance?"
Cregan cursed under his breath.
They both knew the answer.
Aeron had insulted Cregan.
He felt so guilty for placing her between two sides.
Cregan had no words of reassurance. No 'He died a noble death,' for he had died attacking Cregan's ally. No 'He loved you well,' cause he wasn't sure that Aeron did. No 'I'm here,' for the last thing she wanted was his touch.
"I didn't know," is what he finally settled on.
She sniffled. "What?"
"This," he gestured to the letter. "I didn't know. The Blackwoods have not written to me yet, it seems. For if they did, I would have told you myself."
"Would you?" She questioned lightly.
"Better from me than ink-"
"Forgive me for my actions."
He paused. "Alright."
"I was cruel without reason. I suppose grief can cause the mind to forget a lot of things."
"Forget things?" He asked as he stepped to her. "Like what?"
"The love I have for you," she admitted as she avoided eye contact.
He felt his breath hitch. "Ah."
"Or perhaps," she spoke again, "That attacking a master swordsman is a bad idea."
He laughed.
How easy she was to converse with, even when the two were so full of emotion.
"Indeed," he smiled. He tried not to feel too much at the sight of her smile, no matter how teary eyed she was.
"I should have known better than that. Starks are honest and trustworthy. You are," she paused to finally look up at him, speaking each word slowly to show she truly meant it, "honest. And trustworthy."
"You mean that?"
"What? You'd rather me call you a brute again?" She teased.
Gods, she was so captivating.
He tilted his head in disbelief. "I don't think you would."
She took a step with each word as her grin only grew. "You mischievous. Little. Bru-"
His lips locked onto hers.
They hadn't kissed since the wedding. It was so much better than he remembered it. So much sweeter.
She took a moment to snap to, kissing him back equally.
The two took in each other, hands wandering like never before. All of this tension had finally snapped, and neither were willing to part now that they'd had a taste.
"Your house wor-"
She put a finger over his lips. "Who fucking cares?"
He grinned and pulled her hand away to kiss her again.
Her fingers began to pull on his tunic, and only then did he snap to. He pulled away.
"Something wrong?"
He shook his head. "Gods, you're… you're a vision, but I can't. Not like this." He panted lightly as his gaze moved to the longsword he'd thrown on the desk. "Perhaps we do something else with our… stamina."
"Right," she said with a deep breath. "That's noble of you. Sparring will do us well, I'm sure. Just until this passes."
His cheeks heated. "And then?"
"I'm moving into your chambers within the fortnight."
She had said it so matter-of-factly that he wouldn't dare deny it to her.
"Alright."
"Then I'll jump your bones, Cregan Stark."
His eyebrows shot up and he was sure he was a bright pink color at that point.
She only smiled and stepped out of the room to dress for their spar.
…
"What was that." Swing. "You were saying." Swing. "About my house words?" Swing.
He grinned as he blocked and then swung himself. "I was going to say." Swing. "That they might." Block. "Ring true." Swing.
Block. "How so?" Block.
Swing. "I fear you," he teased.
"You don't." Swing.
He chuckled. "You're right." Block. "I don't." Swing.
She managed to sidestep him, causing his momentum to shift with his sword. She took that time to step around and kick at the back of his knee, causing the man to fall to his knees.
She bent down and tugged on his hair, exposing his neck as her other hand pulled her blade to rest gently against his neck.
He smiled widely. "But I fear for everyone else if they dare test you."
She placed a kiss to the side of his head, stepping away and letting the Wolf stand himself.
"You're getting better," he commented as he moved to retrieve Ice.
"Or you're getting worse," she snickered.
He pointed his blade at her with a teasing smirk. "You better watch yourself, Stark."
"Am I not a Bracken anymore?"
"No. No, hardly." He lowered his sword to step to her. He pulled her body against his. "I'm not sure you ever really were."
"How so?" She asked, trying not to get distracted by the proximity of his face to hers.
"You're much more of a direwolf than a horse, don't you think? You bite much harder than most."
"How would you know that?"
He laughed. "Well, I intend to find out. Perhaps when I finally see you in my chambers."
She turned red. "If you weren't a lord, I'd-"
"-You'd what?" He taunted playfully.
She paused. "I'd take you in this courtyard."
He leaned in. "Who says you can't, Stark?"

tìloho
tìloho [English] n. surprise
Anonymous Request: “Hi! Love your stuff :) Can you do one where it’s everyone’s reaction after they find out that neteyam & y/n are bonded/a couple?”
Adult Neteyam and Y/N, a little known member of the Metkayina clan, announce their bond - to almost everyone’s surprise.
1,248 words
His mother was the only one who wasn’t surprised, because she was the only one who had been paying attention. Neteyam had not been focused lately. He had been returning empty handed from hunts, missing family meals, neglecting his siblings, and generally being more secretive than he typically was.
She knew exactly what it meant, but she hadn’t known who was the cause of it, until today. Neytiri had considered carefully whether she should be angry with Neteyam, when he finally revealed the truth to them... and decided against it. If her son could find happiness here, with the Metkayina, there was no reason for her to deprive him of that.
Neteyam arrived to his family’s pod, hand in hand with Y/N, both looking sheepish but unable to hide their smiles.
“Mom, Dad...” Neteyam said as they walked through the entrance.
“Y/N,” Neytiri said, stepping forward with arms open to the girl, who was shocked that Neytiri knew her name - but Neytiri was observant, and made it a point to remember everything and everyone. This girl was not the daughter of a chief, or a healer, but the daughter of a fisherman; in the ranking of the tribe, she was inconsequential - but Neytiri knew that everyone had value, importance, and a place at the table. Neytiri had seen her. one or twice, and remembered the way Neteyam smiled at her when they first met, and how the girl had blushed at his grin. “Welcome,” Neytiri said.
Jake looked up from where he sat, confusion plain as day on his face.
“Thank you,” Y/N replied, her voice quiet, and she touched her fingers to her forehead, and then lowered them.
Neytiri returned the gesture, as her husband stood up to join his family.
“Y/N, it was?” Jake said. He had never seen this girl in his life, and here she was, holding his eldest’s hand and earning a sign of respect from his wife - which was not an easy thing to do.
“Yes,” the girl replied.
She certainly was pretty, if not a little shy, but he couldn’t miss the look on his son’s face. His boy was beaming with pride, gripping this poor girl’s hand so tight that it had to hurt.
“We are mated. Before Ewya,” Neteyam said finally.
Jake whistled. He was a little surprised that Neteyam hadn’t told him before but then again, Neteyam was very private. He wouldn’t have made this decision lightly, and Jake couldn’t help but consider that the fact that he was no longer Olo'eyktan had taken some pressure off of his son when it came to finding a mate; it had allowed him to find someone he truly loved, and make that choice freely.
Neytiri embraced her son, and Jake followed suit. “Welcome to the family, kid,” Jake said to Y/N. “Good luck.”
--
Neteyam’s siblings were next.
“You... you what?” Lo’ak asked when Neteyam told them.
Neteyam tried not to roll his eyes, and Y/N squeezed his hand.
She was even more nervous than he was. For weeks, they had practically snuck around. Neteyam wanted to escape the prying eyes of his family, and Y/N was too nervous to meet them. Who was she, to suppose she could secure for herself the daughter of Taruk Makto? What made her special enough to think she could be deserving of his love?
But whether or not she deserved it, she had it - and she had it for the rest of their lives, as they had pledged themselves before Ewya just the night before.
“I - holy shit!” Lo’ak exclaimed, and Y/N winced. She wasn’t sure quite yet whether he was excited, or angry - not until he threw his arms around the both of them.
“I mean, I have enough sisters already, so I guess one more is fine,” Lo’ak said with a smile. “Welcome to the family!”
--
Kiri and Tuk were thrilled, and a little confused at why Neteyam had hidden Y/N from them for so long - they loved her instantly.
“Oh, you’re beautiful,” Tuk said with the innocence of a child, and Y/N bent down to her level.
“I have been begging your brother to let me meet you,” Y/N said with a soft smile. “He has been keeping me all to himself. Isn’t that selfish?”
Y/N was a naturally shy and cautious person by nature, but had such a deep love for children, that she had been eager to meet Tuk since the moment she’d met Neteyam.
Tuk giggled, and reached up to touch Y/N’s soft hair. She kept it unbraided, and it was usually a little wild. “Your hair is so pretty.”
In turn, Y/N reached for one of Tuk’s braids. “Maybe you can show me how to do these lovely braids sometime, yes?”
Tuk nodded, and with another smile, Y/N stood up.
“I knew something was going on,” Kiri said with a huff. “I can’t believe you didn’t tell any of us!”
“I am sorry, Kiri. I wanted... one thing, for myself. Just once,” Neteyam said, and Kiri’s eyes softened.
“Mom knew, though, didn’t she?”
Neteyam laughed. “Is there anything mom doesn’t miss?”
--
Later, the two sat on the beach, the water up to their waists, finally alone after telling their families.
“That went... much better than I thought,” Neteyam said.
Y/N smiled, leaning her head on his shoulder. “Your family loves you very deeply, and they can see that you’re happy. Though, why I make you happy, I still don’t know.”
Neteyam reached down, turning her face up to meet his. “No more of this talk, Y/N. You are mine now, and you must see yourself how I see you.”
Y/N winced. “And, how do you see me?”
Neteyam smiled, ready to unleash a monologue on his poor mate. “The moment I first saw you, I thought you were the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. Never have I seen such delicate features, such full lips, wide eyes, and soft hair. I was stunned by you, I felt as if I could not breathe, and I knew I had to have you. I knew the moment I saw you, I would make you mine. When I finally worked up the courage to speak to you, your voice was as delicate and soft as your face.
“You were so nervous, and it almost made me... made me want to cry, how scared you were. It made me want to protect you, and I will protect you until I die, Y/N.
“You are the smartest woman I have ever met, and you are endlessly kind and thoughtful. You are so skilled in everything you try, it amazes me how fast you can learn anything you want to.
“I am in awe of you. Ewya has blessed me beyond measure, beyond what I deserve, to deliver me a mate such as you.”
Y/N was tearing up by the end, and even though she knew Neteyam loved her, she had never felt it so deeply before.
“I knew my family would have to accept you, because they could see plainly how deeply I love you. I’m just surprised at how quickly the acceptance happened, is all,” Neteyam said, and leaned over to kiss his mate on her soft temple.
“I love you, Neteyam,” she said, wrapping her arms around him.
He felt like the luckiest man on the planet - and he was.

How To Breathe ~ B. Bradshaw x Fem!Reader
Summary: Bradley would drop everything to help you, his girl, get through hard things.
Warnings: Anxiety, panic attack! Talks of mental disorder.
For the longest time, you’ve felt like a burden when it comes to these episodes. No one understood what to say when you suddenly couldn’t breathe and the feeling of the world got too heavy. No one could comfort you until Bradley came along.
He never judged, in fact, when you told him about these panic attacks that strike you, he told you he was no stranger to anxiety. He felt the overwhelming feeling too sometimes, but he quickly learned the difference between the two of you, the first time you broke down around him.
Over the years, you’ve learned ways to subside these episodes, you determined triggers, you sought out medication to try and keep these things at bay.
Sometimes though, all the steps you take of prevention, just don’t work.
It was a beautiful night, you were dressed to the nines, along with many other women who accompanied their Navy men to this ceremony. Your hair was pinned up, showing off your shoulders, the neckline of your dress was tasteful in showing your delicate collarbones and the soft tops of your breasts. It was a deep midnight color that Bradley adored. In fact, it was hard for him to keep his hands off of you and act professional all night.
He had disappeared with some of the boys and you stood in the corner of the room with women you were introduced to by Bob’s wife. They were kind enough, though a few were more passive aggressive. They talked about nonsense really, they unfaithfulness they’ve had to deal with in the early parts of their marriage, all their questions about when you’ll have kids, why you don’t have kids and why you aren’t married. You felt the itch start, the one that made you feel a little dizzy and made it hard to swallow. You took a deep breath and pushed through, then one of the older women insisted on dragging you through the crowd and introducing you to many other wives who threw silent judgement your way.
The music that played was loud, you constantly bumped into people which made you constantly apologize. Your stomach flipped, your chest started to hurt, you looked around for a familiar face and they were all gone. You were in a sea of people all looking at you like you shouldn’t be there.
Here it came, the crash of panic.
Your breath quickened, you gulped for air and spun around, trying to find your way back to the people you knew. You pushed past people, a hand splayed over your chest.
“You made it back alive.” Bob’s wife, Lindsey, had joked before she took in your appearance. She sees the look of your blown eyes and drained face. “What’s wrong?”
You couldn’t speak, your head shook. “I need air.” You managed to croak.
Immediately, she rushes you from the event halls ballroom and quickly pulled you through the corridors. You pass Maverick and Jake who were in a discussion with other Captains, once they seen you blow by, there concern grew too.
“What’s wrong? What’s happening?” Jake had asked, him and Mav following after the two of you. He pulled open the big doors that led to the back steps.
You were overwhelmingly embarrassed that more people had to see you like this, looking frail, tears clouding your vision as you heaved in and out.
You tried to hide this part of you from everyone, but because of the closeness Mav and Bradley had, Mav knew what this was.
“Where’s Rooster?” He questioned.
“Bob will know.” Lindsey said, moving her grip away and letting you lean on Jake- who is still wildly confused. “Follow me, Mav.” She rushes back inside, the manhunt for the pilot was on.
“Okay, you’re fine.” Jake panicked, looking around for a solution. He placed a firm hand on your arm, but you were so dazed with your thoughts blaring at you, you didn’t know what was happening. You leaned your weight against him, your frame still shaking.
Bradley had been in another room, catching up with pilots he hadn’t seen in a while. Utterly relaxed with a glass in his hand, he didn’t expect the way the door bursted open.
“Rooster, you need to come quick.” Lindsey rushed out, confusing the room.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, standing from his leaned position against a table.
Mav looked at him knowingly. “You’re needed outside immediately.”
Rooster put the pieces together, then he was off without another word. His dress shoes clacked against the flooring as he rushed to the open door to the back gardens. He could see your frame and the way Jake held you, his mind raced because even though he and Jake were good now, he wanted to shove his hands off of his perfect girl.
“Rooster I don’t know what’s wrong with her-” Jake began to explain, but Bradley only gave him a look to shut it. “It’s fine Hangman, she’s okay.”
“She’s hyperventilating!” Jake gently nudged you away from him.
“Don’t yell.” Bradley said in a low warning voice as the loud tone made you quake. He pulls you from Jake, then looks to the others in the doorway. “She’s fine, go back inside.”
They weren’t going to question Bradley, not when it came to you.
As they leave, he gains a more softer persona. “Hey, honey. It’s alright.” He coos, holding your face in his hands. Your makeup smeared from your hot tears, your lips wobble. “I…can’t…breathe.” It comes out broken, he just nods.
“Yes you can, breathe with me.”
“No!” You snap, squirming. “This dress- it’s too tight- I can’t breathe.”
Immediately, Bradley reaches behind you and yanks at the zipper, the force of it rips the material of the dress in some parts. It loosens the tight bodice of the dress and immediately you sob with relief.
“There we go, it’s all okay. This will be over soon, don’t let those thoughts tell you otherwise wise.” He reaches for your fisted hand. He spreads your fingers out, then pulls at the buttons of his dress uniform until he can slide your hand over his chest, pressing it against his ironed shirt so you can feel his steady heartbeat.
“You remember your breathing?” His voice is soft and a lulling comfort. “Come on, breathe in through your nose and hold it, then out through your mouth.”
“I can’t.” You shake your head, but he persists, on hand holding yours to his chest, his other holding the side of your neck. “Yes you can, you’re my brave girl, I know you can.”
Together, you breathe. He feels the pulse in your neck start slow and he wants to sigh with relief.
“Good job, baby. That’s my girl, keep breathing for me. Good girl.”
Your vision clears, you gaze up at him with reddened eyes. The storm is passing and here he was at the end of it.
“I’m sorry.” Are the first calm words from your mouth.
“No, don’t ever be sorry.” He smooths the top of your hair.
It sniffle. “I hate how I’m like this, always raining on parades.”
Bradley shake his head. “You never ruin anything, things like this just happen, my girl.”
You lean your body into him, arms heavy to fully wrap around him so you just grasp the sides of his coat. His strong arms are warm as they wrap around you, like a security blanket, instantly soothing you.
“You want to go home?” He asks and you don’t lift your head to nod, he just feels the movement on his chest.
Bradley only pulls back to slip his coat off and wrap it around you instead, trying to hide the back of your ripped dress. Your hands wrap around his arm as the two of you walk back inside. He stops to say goodbye to Maverick, explaining everything was fine but he was going to take you home.
You were quiet the whole ride, much like your two bedroom home when you arrive.
“Are you hungry?” Bradley asks.
“No.” You answer, laying the coat over the back of the couch and kick your heels off. He kisses the top of your head. “Why don’t you take a hot shower? That’ll help with the headache.”
You loved the way he always knew you, always knew the symptoms that come afterwards, always knew how to help.
You nod, making your way to the shared master bedroom. Your clothes fall into a pile on the floor, you walk into the bathroom and wrap a robe around yourself. In front of the mirror, you struggle to pull all the pins that hold your thick hair up.
“Brad!” You call out, sighing with defeat.
After a second, he’s coming in behind you. You look up at him through the reflection. “I can’t get my hair down.” You explain.
Without a complaint, he starts dropping your hair pins onto the counter. Soon, your curls are falling down softly.
The warm water falls down like rainfall as you enter the shower, you let your head fall forward as the tension in your body leaves. You rub at your face, wiping clean of any salty tears and makeup.
Bradley joins you after a moment, leaving a kiss on your wet shoulder. You turn to face him, a small smile on your lips.
“Ah, there’s my girl.” He grins, which in return makes you grin.
You stare up at him, determining that he was the love of your life and nothing was going to change that.
“What are you thinking about?” He asks, seeing your deep look.
You shrug. “I’m just thinking that you’d be the best husband a girl could ask for and yet you won’t ask me to be your wife.”
Bradley laughs then pulls you into him, his hands holding the sides of your face. “You want to be tied to me forever?” He asks in sarcasm, as if you’re supposed to say no.
You nod instead. “I want to be the other half of you, I want you to be the better half of me forever.”
His eyebrows knit together like they always do when he’s feeling some sort of raw emotion. He leans his forehead down to rest against yours. “I’d be lying if I said marrying you wasn’t on my mind all the time.” He says.
Your fingers run through his wet hair. “But it’s soon.”
“A year is long enough for me if it’s long enough for you.”
You laugh, it’s a sweet melody he loves to hear, especially after an evening like the one you had. You lean up on your toes slightly to kiss him, warm water rushes around the two of you but it’s not an inconvenience. Bradley’s grip tightens ever so slightly, his lips pressed against yours in a sort of hunger, like you’re the only thing that can fill him. You pull away slowly, eyes still shut as you chew your bottom lip, thinking.
Your bright eyes open once you’ve found your words. “People get married sooner, all the time.” You declare, giving him your answer.
He fights a boyish vandal grin. “This is not a proposal.” He claims. “But it’s a promise of one, soon.”
Your mind might be a war zone, you might believe you’re damaged at this point, but here stood the strongest man you knew, and he’s washing your hair for you. His rough hands are utterly gentle as they help wash your skin, they’re wrapping a towel around you and leading you out of the shower. He’s pushing all those lies away, the only thing inside you now was a fuzzy burn of utter admiration and love. He falls asleep first, facing you, an arm snug around your waist and you’re left to trace the features of his face with your eyes. In this soft moment, wrapped in bedsheets, you determine that you might drown your entire life.
But he’ll teach you how to breathe.

one year down, forever to go
emily prentiss x reader
monday morning guest— part two
a/n: i’m actually very surprised how much y’all enjoyed the first part of this because it was in fact a crack idea i came up with randomly !! but here’s a second part and i apologize if it sucks i really had no clue where this was going <3
a/n to the a/n: also my requests are open if y’all wanna request something :)
“you’re married?!” garcia was the first to exclaim and emily sighed in exasperation. she eyed her chosen family and knew she wasn’t getting out of answering this. at all.
“Technically i’m divorced now.” emily grimaced as she watched garcia’s face contort further in confusion.
“How can this be? How did you get married and divorced within the hour? You know I thought we were done with secrets after you faked your death but i see I was wrong and you actually don’t love me.” garcia grumbled as she threw herself on the couch in disdain.
“Uh- Penelope, this is not the same thing. I found out at the same time you did.” Emily scoffed as she ran a hand through her hair. She lowered herself behind her desk and made to pick up a file, hoping the team would take the hint. Wishful thinking.
“Oh no, none of that. Spill.” Tara grinned as she perched on the arm of the couch expectantly. Everyone follows her lead in getting comfortable.
“Aren’t there some case files out there you should all be working on?” Emily groaned, nodding toward their desks in the bullpen.
“Sure, but this is far more interesting.” JJ grinned with a shrug.
“Yeah, if I recall correctly it was only a little while ago that you were hyperbolically recounting my wives. And low and behold, you’ve got a wife of your own.” Rossi goaded.
“How many wives are you at?” Luke asked, easily distracted but ever happy to be included.
“Not the point, Newbie. Stop distracting. We’re here to learn about Emily’s secret wife, not Rossi’s 6 wives.” Garcia chastised, turning everyone’s attention back to Emily.
“God, I’m not getting out of this am I?” Emily asked, and when everyone shook their heads her shoulders slumped, and she accepted her fate.
-
backpacking through Europe may have been her best idea yet, or so she thought at least. y/n didn’t seem to agree. they were nearing the end of their spring break and as beautiful and adventure filled as the days had been— the younger woman was ready to get to a hotel.
“em, if we take one more turn you’ll be carrying me back to civilization.” y/n groaned.
“back to civilization? there’s like 60 people hiking the same trail we’re on.” emily rolled her eyes.
“okay and? i haven’t seen a mall in days. i’m going through serious withdrawals.” y/n sighed as they did in fact take another turn.
“oh stop your whining, we’re almost at the hotel. i told you, we could spend half the trip backpacking and the other half in the lavish luxury you dream of so often.” emily smiled over her shoulder, reaching for y/n’s hand to pull her down the trail.
“i just don’t understand. your mother damn near begged us to use her hotel and resort recommendations and you want to be outside. in nature’s home. couldn’t have gotten that from your mom.” y/n lamented, putting up very little fight as emily guided her further through the park.
emily listened to her complain for most of the days they’d been out but she really couldn’t think of any other person she’d want with her. meeting y/n had been rather serendipitous. she’d just started her mastered at yale and moved into this astronomically expensive apartment in georgetown. and she was hell bent on supporting herself. so she’d found a restaurant looking for waitresses and put in an application. on her way out the hostess had changed and she’d rather dumbly stopped at the station with the application in her hand.
“hi?” the woman chuckled, eyeing the brunette curiously.
emily’s cheeks reddened under the woman’s gaze and she cleared her throat. “uh, hi. they told me to give my application to the hostess but i don’t see her anymore.”
the woman leaned against the hostess stand with a chuckle and reached her hand out to accept the paper. “that was nina, she works mornings. i’m the evening girl.”
emily nodded disjointedly and handed the application over, “morning girl is nina. so that makes you?”
the hostess grinned and leaned a bit further toward emily, “that makes me y/n,” y/n looked at the top of the application searching for a name. “emily.”
emily smiled and rubbed the back of her neck, “nice to meet you.”
y/n smirked as she eyed emily, “you’ve never had a job before have you?”
emily’s cheeks reddened instantly and she grimaced, “is it that obvious?”
“yeah sweet. it’s real obvious. but you’re cute, so i’ll put in a good word for you.” y/n shrugged and headed back through the restaurant with the application. emily’s cheeks felt like they were on fire but it only worsened when y/n sent a flirty wave over her shoulder before disappearing behind the bar.
and from that day on they’d been inseparable. y/n was working her way through law school and even after emily had been rightfully fired from the restaurant, y/n had become her favorite person. somewhere during the first year of them knowing each other they finally gave into the ever present flirtation and got together.
that’s how they ended up in europe anyway. emily was graduating in a few months and this was set to be her last big hurrah of freedom before diving head first into work. she’d sold y/n on the beauty of europe and also her company.
“i don’t know if i ever told you. but anytime mother and i were in france, i spent most of my time with my grandfather up in his cabin in the french alps. there was a 10-year stretch where he didn't come down off the mountain. he had no electricity, no running water, and his food supplies came from the land. those were some of my fondest memories.”
at emily’s explanation, y/n quieted a bit and leaned in to kiss her lips sweetly. “well i guess it’s not that bad then. as long as i can get you drunk tonight?”
“i guess. not like i can say no to you.”
“not like you ever have before. if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
and drunk they did get. so much so that they woke up with little to no memory of the night before. rings on fingers and heads pounding. they were married.
-
“So what, now you’re like Rossi? A profiler with a hot ex-wife?” Tara asked as Emily brought the story to a close. Emily glared at the woman but shrugged a little in defeat.
“well she didn’t seem too upset when she left. if anything she seemed eager for something…” spencer pointed out.
“that’s right boy genius, she thanked me. a scorned ex wife wouldn’t have done that!” garcia nodded frantically, pinning emily with a glare.
“well we are divorced. i signed the paper but while she’s in town, she’s agreed to let me make up for the twenty years of marriage i’ve missed out on.” emily replied, cheeks flushing as everyone cheered and whooped.
“when? where? what’s the plan?” garcia pestered.
“i don’t know penelope, she only just left. plus with our work load who knows when i’ll be able to actually take her out.”
garcia shook her head in determination, “mark my words, i will make sure this happens. i can smell a second wedding already.”
emily looked at the tech analyst in disbelief and jj seemed to get the hint. “alright cupid, let’s leave emily to ponder her date ideas.” emily gave jj a grateful look as she watched her corral everyone out of her office.
second wedding was a bit extreme but she really did hope between her and garcia’s wishful thinking that she’d be out with y/n very soon.
-
“took you long enough. i thought you might’ve changed your mind.” y/n grinned as the hostess brought her over to emily.
emily stood with a sheepish smile, it had been 3 weeks since y/n had popped back into her life and as much as she wanted to get their date on the books— serial killers really stopped at nothing. “trust me, if i’d had it my way we would’ve been doing this far sooner. but alas, serial killers don’t care about my social life.”
y/n laughed softly pulling emily into a hug, “well i’m glad you could pencil me in. between solving your murders and jetting all over the US.”
“you make it sound so glamorous.” emily chuckled, pulling the seat out for y/n and taking her own seat.
“well there is a sort of luxury involved with having a jet.” y/n replied with a shrug.
emily rolled her eyes affectionately, “sure, when you’re not on your way to a gruesome crime scene.”
“well you got me there, you always did have a stronger stomach than me when it came to all that criminal stuff.” y/n smiled as she pulled the menu open.
“you know me, compartmentalizing at its finest.” emily shrugged opening her own menu as well.
“ah ah ah, i was there when you invented that excuse. it didn’t work then and it won’t work now.” y/n tsked.
“you really haven’t changed.” emily smiled with a content sigh.
“you know what i always say, if it not broke—“ y/n started.
“don’t fix it.” emily finished just as the waitress returned to take their order. with orders placed, a bottle of wine poured they both settled into a familiar volley.
“so you seem to know everything that’s happened to me in the last twenty years but i’m a little in the dark.”
“well i only know what your mother knows, which im sure isn’t much considering it’s your mother. but i’ll bite. after you graduated, i finished out law school. i think by then you’d started you undercover work though. started working and haven’t stopped since.”
emily nodded, “right right, and you got engaged while you were married to me.”
y/n scoffed with a laugh, “hey! you’re one to talk, miss i had to be resurrected. my engagement— while short lived was a big mistake. i was young and tired of being alone. but as i said before finding out i was still married was the least of my worries then.”
emily nodded sadly, knowing the pressures of loneliness very well. “loneliness will do that. also can i just explain my whole death arc, so you’ll stop holding it against me?”
“absolutely, be my guest.”
“so there was this super evil guy, i went under and he kinda fell in love with me—“
“fell in love with my wife?”
“shh! yes unfortunately he did. well obviously he went down for his crimes but he escaped prison and came after my team. and he really wanted me dead and impaled me with a chair leg.”
“a chair leg?! you can’t be serious.”
“yes a chair leg, and he got away. so it wasn’t exactly safe for me to be living and that led to me faking my death. and spending my recovery alone in paris.” emily explained.
“well where the hell is he now?”
“dead. my team was very adamant about avenging my death.” emily smiled watching the younger woman nod in approval.
“good. nobody murders my wife and gets away with it.” y/n glared before winking over at emily.
both women talked over their food, flirting like old times, and really just enjoying each other’s company. once their plates had been cleared, a waitress brought out a slice of pie with the words “happy anniversary” drizzled across the plate.
“well well well, you weren’t kidding when you said you wanted to make up for those missed anniversaries.” y/n smiled, holding a spoonful of pie out for emily to eat. she accepted the offered sweet treat with a furious blush, but couldn’t help to think just how whipped she still was for this woman.
-
emily sighed happily, pulling y/n through the streets of dc. one of y/n hands was wrapped in her own while the other held a bouquet of flowers emily had purchased no their post-dinner walk. when they made it back to the parking lot, they reluctantly walked over to y/n’s car together.
y/n grinned as she leaned against the hood of her car, emily’s hand still in her own. she watched as a smile curled on emily’s lips and at the sight of that dimple y/n pulled her as close as she could out in the parking lot. “well em, i must say this was a rather enjoyable belated anniversary celebration. i can only think of one thing to make it perfect.”
“oh really, and what would that be? you know i’ve always strived for perfection.” emily asked, eyes flickering between y/n’s eyes and lips.
“you always were an overachiever. glad to see that’s still the same.” y/n grinned, pulled emily into a kiss that lit their bodies on fire. if there was one thing emily prentiss could do, the woman could kiss. and 20 years seemed to only add to her skills. y/n held out for as long as she could but when could feel her heartbeat in her ears she reluctantly pulled away to breathe. emily looked down at her smugly and pushed a lock of hair out of her face. boy did she miss that.
“next anniversary is on me?” y/n whispered against emily’s lips.
“well i sure like the sound of that.” emily agreed easily.
one anniversary down, only about 19 more to go.

*holds a cup* pls oh pls may i have crume of larys strong! since the new pictures have dropped ive been craving the rat man. maybe something with the hunting scene where we are first introduced to his character. like him and his wife just being domestic with their childeren with maybe a little smut thank you<3
AN: Hi, I hope you like it . I'm sorry, the smut escaped me n this ..i got lost with the cuteness !
“I heard she is with a babe again.” The whispers of the gossiping Ladies of the court continued as did the feast. The young Queen rested her own hand on the large stomach as she listened with growing interest. It had only come to her attention just recently of the family the younger Strong brother had and it had only intrigued her. “I am surprised such things can happen.” The malice in the Lady’s tone was well noted and seemingly agreed by the group around her, Alicent thought to herself. It was not long before her attention was brought to the opening doors; the sound of an announcement ringing in the room. “The Lord and Lady Strong and their children.”
Alicent watched as a sea of different shades of blue moved into view. The rest of the Lords and Ladies not so subtly turned to look. It seemed the rumours were in fact true as the Queen noted the small bump under the dark blue material of the Lady’s dress. Alicent’s doe eyes moved over the family; noting the two young children - a boy and girl. Larys gently held his daughter’s hand as they moved through the crowds. He ignored the stares with ease; a lifetime of doing so and thankfully his sweet girls did not notice. His son, however, was a different story as he moved into his mother’s side quite protectively. It seems Larys had taught him well, the Lord smirked with such thoughts.
“Do you think we have to stay long?” Larys hummed as he stepped closer to his wife; eyes always watching around them. His wife sweetly threw a smile over her shoulder; a smile he could lose himself in. “Yes, my love.” Thankfully, the King had not made his presence known and there was no need to present themselves. “I thought you enjoyed such gatherings?” His wife asked in complete innocence as the group gracefully moved towards the empty table, much to Larys’ relief. Larys once upon a time had enjoyed such occasions as he gathered information to his benefit, but that was before he had his own family and wife to enjoy.
“I did, but now I have something more important to use my time with.” Larys hummed as he settled beside her. A soft blush came over her face as she ducked her head. Delicately, she reached for a goblet of wine. A soft grunt escaped Larys as his daughter roughly moved into his lap without a care in the world. “You spoil her too much.” His love whispered as if she had not allowed their son to sit on her lap. Larys could only chuckle in amusement whilst keeping a protective hold on his daughter. “Can I have a cake mama?” His sweet boy whispered a little loud which had his wife giggling and keeping him impossibly close. “Hmm, only a small one, sweet boy.” She gracefully reached her ringed hand onto the batch of lemon cakes before her son was grabbing at them.
His chubby fingers soon dug into the delicious cake as his wife only giggled. A small smile tugged on Larys’ lips as he watched on. The soft lull of the royal musicians filled the room as the family settled in silence. His hand reached for his wife’s leg; gently squeezing as he took comfort in the notion she was so close. It seemed as ever their peace could never last as Larys turned his head; the sound of feet moving gained his attention.”My Queen.” Larys acknowledged as Alicent stepped closer; the Ladies of the court having stayed back. His wife’s sweet voice echoed the greeting whilst his daughter seemed to look up in complete confusion.
“I do not think we have been introduced?” Alicent’s curiosity got the better of her as Larys’ wife gracefully moved to stand. If the Queen had looked further; she would have noticed the flicker of annoyance cross over Lord Strong’s dark eyes. Perfectly, his wife curtsied whilst his son grabbed at his mother’s skirts with now sticky hands. Not that his wife cared, no she adored her children. It had warmed Lary’s heart; a heart he thought would be ice forever. “I do not think we have, my Queen.” His wife’s soft voice brought him out of his thoughts whilst his sweet girl moved to stand. “They are beautiful.” Alicently whispered and his wife could only duck her head in thanks.
“Your Aegon is a darling.” His wife whispered truthfully as Larys fought off his eye roll. The little Prince was a devil but he seemed to adore his love. Alicent gave a thankful smile before turning her attention to Larys. He made no move to stand, which the Queen took because of his disability. If only she knew the truth, he thought to herself. It seemed fate was on their side as the announcement of the King came through and the Queen’s interest was taken away. “Henry!” His wife called out as it seemed their son had grabbed another lemon cake to stuff in his mouth secretly. His giggles echoed and Larys’ wife could never stay mad at their children for long.
Her fingers gently moved through his dark locks as he cuddled into her side whilst their daughter curiously looked around the room. “Brother.” The familiar, deep voice of Harwin came from the side as his son ran to his brother’s arms. “Uncle!” A soft smile came over her face as she watched the gentle sight; all the while her daughter kept a hold of Larys’ hand. His sweet wife did not see the tension between the two brothers, neither did Harwin if Larys was truthful with himself. Still, Larys forced a smile as they greeted each other whilst he fought off a comment of the looks his brother had given the Princess. “My lovely good sister.” Harwin smiled brightly as he placed a kiss on her cheek.
The act only had Larys’ eyes twitching before he controlled himself. Larys only found himself calming when his sweet wife reached for his hand once more. Their fingers entwined and for a moment, he could completely ignore the stares still lingering on them. “Can we leave now, mama?” Their lovely daughter whispered and looked up with those big, doe eyes.

"I got it!" Y/N yelled as someone knocked on the door. She wiped her hands on her apron, as she had been making dinner when the knock sounded, and went to go open the door. When she made her way to the lobby, however, Hank was already talking with the man outside. He forcefully made his way inside, and Y/N crossed her arms over her stomach.
"Hey! I said the school's closed. You need to leave." Hank yelled after the man, but he was still making his way inside.
"Not until I see the professor." The man said, and Y/N stepped forward.
"There's no professor here, sir. Maybe you should get along." She said, and Hank protectively went to her side.
"Y/N! I didn't know you'd be h - you're pregnant?" The man said, and Y/N raised an eyebrow.
"How do you know my name?" She asked, taking another step forward. The man sighed. He looked annoyed and worn out, but Y/N really didn't care.
"Look, someday, we're all gonna be good friends. You just don't know it yet." The man said to the both of them, before punching Hank in the face. Y/N dropped to his side as he fell to the ground, letting the man walk up the stairs. What did he mean by that? And if they were supposed to be 'friends,' why did he punch Hank?
"That son of a bitch," Hank grumbled out, rubbing his cheek.
"Professor?" The man called, and Y/N immediately rushed to follow the man up the stairs and to the left, Hank still on the floor. Charles was having a hard time, and he needed more help than Hank would.
"Sir, I don't know who you think you are, or who you think you're looking for, but-" Y/N cut herself off as a blue Hank went barreling past her. Her eyes widened, watching the two fight down the hallway. She stood with her back against the wall as Hank threw the man across the stairs, jumping after him. He then proceeded to throw the man all the way down the stairs, onto the table in the lobby. The door across the hallway from her opened, and Y/N was met with blue eyes.
"Charles," She greeted, surprised as Charles emerged from their room. They heard growling, and the two made their way to the main lobby, Y/N pulling off her apron and putting it on the bannister.
"Hank? What's going on here?" Charles yelled, and Y/N followed silently down the stairs.
"Professor?" The unnamed man said.
"Please don't call me that." Charles requested, and Y/N frowned. She looked at Hank, who was hanging upside down on the chandelier directly on top of the man. She put her head down, staying silent. When Charles first lost his legs, he didn't seem to care as much. It was only when his friends, his family, began to get drafted for the war that Charles fell, and hard. She had tried her best to get him to lay off the serum, especially because she was pregnant. She had found out a couple weeks after they had opened the school, right before people were getting drafted. She tries not to think about the fact that he may have been better off if she hadn't been in his life, if she wasn't carrying his child. She would never voice her thoughts, however, and it was much easier to pretend now that he no longer could read her mind.
Sometimes they even pretended she wasn't pregnant, that they weren't mutants.
"Why? Do you know this guy?" Hank asked. Y/N still didn't dare look up. She didn't want to make things worse, didn't want to set Charles or Hank off even more. Both were clearly stressed out, and she was stuck not being able to help either. The easiest thing for her to do was shut up and make food.
Speaking of food, she should probably go back there.
"Yeah, he looks slightly familiar. Get off the bloody chandelier, Hank." Charles said, his voice already slurring. If he hadn't been paralyzed and she hadn't been pregnant, he wouldn't have been drunk already. Hank flipped off the Chandelier, and the man began to slowly sit up.
"You can walk." Y/N heard the man say, and she snapped her head up. What did this guy know? Who was he to know that Charles hasn't always been able to walk? All thoughts of her going back to the food was abandoned in favor of backing up Charles.
"You're a perceptive one." She said, and Charles gave her a look as he walked down the stairs. She rolled her eyes, beginning to talk over the man that was already talking. She was breaking her number one rule, but she couldn't bring herself to care.
"I thought Erik-"
"Which makes it slightly perplexing that you managed to miss our sign on the way in." Y/N said, and Charles looked at her before finishing the talk.
"This is private property, my friend. I'm gonna have to ask him to ask you to leave." Charles sat down on the last step, and Y/N rushed down the steps to his side, grabbing ahold of his arm.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, because, uh, because I was sent here for you." The man said, and Charles looked at Y/N, but his expression was blank. He looked back to the man.
"Well, tell whoever it was that sent you that I'm-" Charles lead off, looking at Y/N once more. His gaze rested on the bump that was currently fanning out the dress she had on. "Busy, obviously." He finished, and Y/N looked back to the man.
"That's gonna be a little tricky, because the person who sent me was you." The man said, taking a deep breath.
"What?" Y/N and Charles said at the same time, although Charles seemed less interested than Y/N. She didn't quite understand all the things he understood, and right now she was lost.
"About fifty years from now." The man continued, and Y/N released Charles' arm to hold her head in her hands. How was that supposed to work?
"Fifty years from now? Like in the future, fifty years from now?" She asked, looking back up at the man. She knows she needs to stop talking, but suddenly life was flipped and she forgot to remember herself for a moment.
"Yeah." The man confirmed.
"I sent you from the future." Charles said. He definitely wasn't believing it.
"Yeah." The man confirmed again, and Y/N looked over to see Hank shaking his head.
"Piss off." Charles said, and Y/N stood, rising tall to intimidate the man. It wasn't working.
"You have some nerve showing up here, punching Hank and making fun of Charles. How did you even know my name?" Y/N asked, walking closer to the man, but he looked around her at Charles.
"If you had your powers, you'd know I was telling the truth." He said, and Y/N punched him before she could even think about it.
"Woah, woah, woah." Hank said, him and Charles going to her side to pull her back. Hank hung onto her while Charles stared at him.
"How do you know I don't have my," Charles led off, and the three shared a look. "Who are you?" Charles asked again.
"I told you." The man said, but Charles didn't believe him.
"Are you CIA?" Charles asked.
"No."
"You been watching me?" Charles asked, and Y/N felt her heart rate pick up as she knew Charles' was as well. She got anxiety for Charles ever since he was shot, and she hated the feeling.
"I know you, Charles. We've been friends for years. I know your powers came when you were nine. I know you thought you were going crazy when it started, all the voices in your head. And it wasn't until you were twelve that you realized all the voices were in everyone else's head. Do you want me to go on?" The man spoke, and Y/N stared at Charles. After a moment, he turned to her, silently asking if she had said anything. She shook her head, because first of all, why would she tell, and second of all, who would she tell?
"I only told Y/N that." Charles said quietly.
"One day, you'll share your story." The man said, and Y/N turned to look at Hank, who was just staring. She was so confused and tired and she just wanted to go back to making dinner while Hank worked and Charles drank.
"Alright, you've piqued my interest." Charles said, and Y/N moved closer to him. She put a hand on his shoulder, hoping to comfort him.
"Charles, we don't even know who this guy is. He could be a telepath. We don't know anything except he came in here and started a fight with Hank." Y/N said, but Charles shrugged her off.
"What do you want?" Charles asked, and Y/N frowned.
"We have to stop Raven. I need your help. We need your help." The man said, and Y/N stared at Charles, heart breaking at the pained look on his face. He looked down. She knew how close Raven and Charles were, even mistaking it for romantic love and not sibling love. This man bringing her up did not help his case.
"I think I'd like to wake up now." He said, walking away. Y/N tried to grab his hand, but he slid out without so much as a look. She turned to see Hank's blue appearance going back to normal.
"You'll have to forgive him. He's going through some tough times." Y/N said, head down as she followed Charles' path. He was pouring himself a drink when she walked into the room. She leaned against the desk, trying to alleviate the pain in her feet from standing. She had been standing while making dinner, and she had half a thought to go finish it.
"I don't need my powers to know you're in pain. Why don't you sit down?" He suggested. She sat in his chair, close to where he was still pouring his drink. She almost put her feet on the desk, but thought better of it.
"You shouldn't drink so much. What are you going to do when the baby comes?" She asked, and he turned to see her slouching in the chair, bump stretching upwards. She had her hands around it, rubbing it, and Charles thought he had never seen anyone so beautiful in his life.
It scared him to think that he was going to have to be in charge of another person soon.
"Drink more." He responded, and she frowned.
"Charles," She crossed her arms, and he turned and leaned against his desk to face her.
"You know I won't." He tried to comfort her, but she just shook her head.
"But you'll keep doing the useless treatments?" She asked, and he dropped his head.
"They aren't useless. You don't understand how hard this is for me." He said, and she rolled her eyes. She was tired of just letting this go because of him. She was hurting too.
"What, you think this is easy for me?" She asked.
be a good wife be a good wife be a good wife
The mantra repeated over and over in her head, and she took a deep breath. Charles was going through the hardest time he'd ever had in his life, and although she was too, she still needed to be there for him. It was her job.
"I'm sorry. I know this is hard." She said, and he shook his head, tears forming in his eyes.
"You shouldn't be the one apologizing." He said, but he left it there. Not too long after their conversation was over, the man walked into the room with Hank.
"Just let me explain myself."
~
"So they took Raven's powers and weaponized it?" Y/N asked, and Charles was already pouring himself another drink. They had only been talking for 10 minutes, and Y/N rubbed her eyes. The food she was preparing had probably gone bad now, but she knew she couldn't leave Charles alone, not while he was halfway to shitfaced before dark.
"Yep." Was all the man - Logan - said. He had explained the future, explained how the four of them were all friends and Charles and Y/N's baby had mutant abilities too, but it was a lot of information to take in.
"She is unique." Hank said.
"Yeah, she is, Hank." Charles said with a smile. Y/N looked back to Logan to continue talking while Charles walked across the room.
"Look, in the beginning, the Sentinels were just targeting mutants. Then they began to identify the genetics in non-mutants, who would eventually have mutant children and grandchildren." Logan turned to face Charles, who was now sitting on the couch. Charles looked at Y/N, and she heaved herself up, shuffling to sit next to him on the couch. He put an arm around her, then set his drink down, the other hand resting on her stomach. Y/N closed her eyes, trying to take in the moment. He was at the sweet spot, when he was drunk enough to forget that he was upset but not drunk enough to dwell in self pity.
"Many of the humans tried to help us. It was a slaughter, leaving only the worst of humanity in charge. I've been in a lot of wars. I've never seen anything like this. And it all starts with her." Logan finished, but Y/N still didn't open her eyes. She moved a hand to Charles' chest, her head resting above his heart. She never wanted this moment to end.
But then Charles removed his hand from her bump and leaned to pick up his drink, taking a swig before talking.
"Well, let's just say for the sake of," He paused, his knee starting to shake and his other hand going up to rub his eye. "The sake, that I-I choose to believe you. Raven won't listen to me." He said, leaning further into the couch and putting his arm farther down now so that he could feel her bump as well. She sighed, still not opening her eyes. "Her heart and soul belong to someone else now." Charles finished, and Y/N could tell that Hank was upset without looking at him.
She'd honestly rather be anywhere else than there at the moment.
"I know. That's why we're gonna need Magneto, too." Logan's sentence made Y/N's eyes shoot open as she looked at him with annoyance and fear, and she felt Charles tense as he chuckled.
"Erik? You do know where he is?" Hank asked, and Charles continued his breathless laugh.
"Yeah." Logan answered, and Y/N moved as Charles stood, putting his drink down and moving further away from her, laughing like a mad man.
"He's where he belongs." Charles said, making his way to the door.
"That's it? You're just gonna walk out?" Logan asked, and Y/N stood, moving to see Charles when he walked all the way out the door.
"Oh, top marks. Y/N, you were right, he is perceptive." Charles was walking backward, away from them, and Y/N knew that she wouldn't get a peaceful moment with him again until he was asleep. Then, they would start the same day over again, until she had the baby. Who knows what would happen after that.
"The professor I know would never turn his back on someone who lost their path. Especially someone he loved." Logan said as Charles was almost to the stairs. Charles then stepped back, turning to the three of them gathered to the door. Y/N started talking, but Charles talked right over her.
"You have no right to-"
"You know, I think I do remember you now. Yeah. We came to you a long time ago seeking your help. And I'm gonna say to you what you said to us then. Fuck off." Charles cut Y/N off. Before Y/N could blink, Logan grabbed Charles by his shirt and brought him close.
"Listen to me, you little shit. I've come a long way, and I've watched a lot of people die. Good people. Friends. If you're gonna wallow in self-pity and do nothing, then you're gonna watch the same thing, you understand? You wanna watch her die?" Logan jerked his head to Y/N, and her blood ran cold. Charles looked at her as Logan let go of him, and then looked back at Logan.
"We all have to die sometime." Charles said, taking a drink and turning away, walking up the stairs. Y/N felt her knees give in, but Logan caught her, leading her to the couch, where she laid blank faced.
"Told you there was no professor here." Hank said, and Logan turned to Hank.
"What the hell happened to him?" Logan asked Hank, but Y/N answered anyway.
"He lost everything. Erik, Raven, his legs. And then he finds out that not only has he lost his closest friends and is now paralyzed, he's also going to be a father." Y/N said emotionless. She was staring off, her face and mind blank. This happened often now, at times when Charles would stop caring about her. It was easier to shut herself off then deal with the pain. Hank knew what was going on, but he knew that there was nothing he could do for her, short of forcing Charles off meds.
"We built the school, the labs, this-this whole place. Then the war got worse. Many of the teachers and older students were drafted. Everything going on, it just broke him. He retreated into himself. I wanted to help, do something, so I designed the serum to help treat his spine. Derived from the same formula that helps me control my mutation. I take just enough to keep myself balanced, but," Hank trailed off as he walked around.
"He takes too much. He doesn't listen when we try to ease him back. He can't bear the pain, the voices." Y/N said, tears shrining to her eyes. As hard as she tried to bottle her emotions, it seemed the glass would always shatter and flood her mind anyways. "I want to be enough. I want him to be able to be happy without his legs, with a child, with me, but he's not. Why am I not enough?" She whispered, looking up to Logan. He sat in front of her legs on the couch.
"You are enough. He'll realize it. I promise." Logan said, thinking to his present, the world where Charles and Y/N lived almost happily ever after (minus the major wars they fought in). Y/N nodded, closing her eyes. She had barely drifted off when Charles' voice echoed through the room.
"I'll help you get her." He said, and Y/N sat up "Not for any of your future shite, but for her. And my," Charles lead off, and Y/N could tell he was trying to hold back his emotions. She stood to see him, but he didn't look at her.
"Son. For your son." Logan said, and tears immediately sprung to Y/N's eyes.
"We're having a boy?" Charles asked quietly. Y/N ran to him, and he wrapped his arms tight around her.
"I am so sorry, love." Charles said, and Y/N just shook her head against him.
She wished things would change, but change took time. She only hoped they had enough time.
~
She knew that although Charles was sorry, he was not going to stop. He was too deep now, it would take a lot more than knowing the gender of their child to get him to become sober once more. And although she wasn't allowed to go get Erik, she accompanied them on the jet to get to Raven. She despised staying alone while pregnant, and knew the others would take care of her. She'd be alright with them.
"So, you're pregnant." Erik said, looking over at Y/N. She sat on the couch with Charles, his arm around her loosely.
"Yes." Charles answered for her, and Erik continued to read the paper.
"And your powers?" Erik didn't look up again, and Charles' grip tightened on Y/N.
"The treatment for my spine affects my DNA." Charles answered simply, and Y/N cuddled closer, holding onto him tightly.
"You sacrificed your powers so you could walk?" Erik asked, and Y/N shut her eyes tightly, hands gripping Charles' shirt.
"I sacrificed my powers so that I could sleep. So that I could protect and care for my son." Charles' voice faltered, and she looked up at him.
"Charles, you can still care for the baby without your legs." Y/N said, but Charles just held onto her tighter.
"What do you know about it?" Charles shook his head, and she knew he was talking to Erik.
"I've lost my fair share." Erik said quickly. Y/N looked up at him. Had this monster really lost that much?
"Dry your eyes, Erik. It doesn't justify what you've done." Y/N said, and Charles rubbed her back and bump, trying to calm her.
"You have no idea what I've done." Erik said, and Y/N stood, Charles trying to get her to sit down. She was too enraged though, at the man who had practically taken her life from her.
"You took Charles' legs, his power. You took away the things that mean the most to him." Y/N said with tears in her eyes. Charles frowned from the side, upset that she didn't think she mattered the most, because she did, her and the baby. Erik was enraging him too, now.
"Well maybe he should have fought harder for them." Erik responded, and Charles stepped in front of Y/N, as Erik was rising from his seat.
"If you want to fight, Erik, I will give you a fight!" Charles yelled.
"Charles," Y/N said.
"Sit down!" Logan commanded. All their voices were coming at once.
"Let him come." Erik responded, and Charles lunged forward, grabbing Erik by his shirt.
"You abandoned me! You took her away and you abandoned me!" Charles yelled, and Y/N sat down, feeling sick. It was as if she didn't matter, as if she weren't even there.
"Angel. Azazel. Emma. Banshee." The plane began creaking as Erik spoke, and Logan was next to Y/N, the two of them holding onto each other as the plane shook. She fought to keep the bile rising down.
"Mutant brothers and sisters all dead!" Erik yelled, and Y/N felt Charles at her side. She clung to him as Logan clung to the couch. The plane began to tilt, and they slowly fell to the other side against the wall. Y/N felt tears in her eyes as she held on to Charles as tightly as she could.
"Erik!" Y/N yelled, but it was like he didn't hear her.
"Countless others experimented on, butchered."
"Erik!" Hank yelled from the cockpit, and Y/N let out a sob. She had never been this afraid, not even when Charles had lost his legs, or when she found out she was pregnant. She tried to resit the urge to puke, and she could feel it in the back of her mouth.
"Where were you, Charles?" Erik asked, and they began falling toward the cockpit. They let out a groan as they hit another wall, Charles holding Y/N as close as he could. "Where were you when your own people needed you? Hiding! You and Hank and Y/N! Pretending to be something you're not!" Erik yelled. They were falling at a quick rate, and Y/N let out more sobs, silently praying.
"Erik, please, she's pregnant!" Hank bargained, and as the plane went back to normal and the two fell into a seat, Y/N felt dizzy. She was resting against Charles, but she knew it wouldn't last long.
"You abandoned us all." Erik said, and then he looked straight at Y/N. "And now you're abandoning her." Erik said, and that was the snapping point for Y/N. She stumbled to the bathroom, almost tripping multiple times on the short walk. She finally made it there, where she threw up, struggling to catch her breath. She felt someone bring her hair back, and she wiped her lips before turning and looking. She expected to see Logan, but she instead saw Charles. She almost started crying again, and he held her in his arms.
In the five months she had been pregnant, Charles had never come to her aid while she was sick. She knew it was hard for him, but this showed he was getting better. Maybe one day, everything would be okay.
~
They arrived back at the mansion after an unsuccessful mission, and Y/N felt the progress that had been made being washed away as Charles began struggling. They had just walked into the mansion when Charles fell to the ground groaning.
"Charles!" Y/N shrieked, going to his side. Hank went to his other side, grabbing him.
"What happened?" Logan asked, but no one answered.
"Come on, up." Hank heaved Charles up, and Charles began panting.
"Why can't he walk?" Logan asked, and Y/N put a hand over Charles' own, which was raised to his head.
"He needs his treatment." Y/N responded, Hank placing Charles against the wall.
"Hank, Y/N, I can hear them!" Charles groaned, and Y/N's heart dropped.
"I know, baby. It's okay. It'll all be okay." Y/N responded.
"Can you make it stop?" Charles asked quietly, and Hank was already walking away.
"I'll go get it." Hank said, rushing up the stairs. Charles grunted, pressing his hands against his head. Y/N pushed his hair out of his face, kissing his forehead.
"Hey, hey! Pull yourself together. It's not over yet." Logan said, and Charles opened his eyes and put his fingers to his temple, looking at Logan. Y/N sighed, licking her lips and then turning, because she knew that Charles was about to use his powers for the first time in awhile.
"You don't believe that." Charles said, and Logan's face changed. Y/N turned back to Charles, coaxing his hand down.
"How do you know?" Logan asked, and Y/N just kept caring for Charles, trying to comfort him. It broke her heart to see him in pain like this.
"As these go," Charles put a hand on his leg. "This comes back." Charles put a hand back up to his head. He pressed both hands back to his head. "They all come back." He moaned, panting.
"Hey, it'll be okay, Charles. You're gonna be okay, baby. Look at me, it's okay. I'm here." Y/N comforted. She hoped this would be the turning point, where he wouldn't take the serum again.
"Look, she's still out there." Logan said, and Charles reached down to undo his shirt sleeve, pulling it up his arm. "But we need your help, Charles. Not like this. I need you." Logan said, and Y/N continued to push the hair out of his face.
"Charles, slow down." Y/N stopped him from fully hitching his shirt sleeve up.
"We can't find Raven; not without your powers." Logan said softly. Y/N looked at Charles, wiping the hair out of his face.
"You're strong. Stronger than anyone I know. You can do this." Y/N whispered, pressing a kiss to his forehead. She just hoped it was enough.
"I, uh, I added a little extra because you missed a dose." Hank said as he bounded down the stairs. Y/N backed up, giving Charles room to make his decision. Charles grabbed the syringe, and Y/N turned her head, not able to watch.
"Charles." Logan warned, turning towards him. Charles aimed the syringe, and Y/N could hear his whimpers. She waited for it to be over, so when she heard Charles exhale and the clink of the syringe as he put it down, she turned to look at him. He sniffled, and she realized that he hadn't taken the shot. He looked at her, but then looked down, ashamed. Y/N grabbed his hand, and he squeezed hers, shutting his eyes tight before opening them.
"Uh, H-Hank, do me a favor. Would you help me to my study, please?" He looked so young as he shook slightly, squeezing Y/N's hand once more before letting Hank grab his arm.
"Come on, I got you." Hank told Charles. Y/N let her hand slip out of his, watching silently as the two made it to the study.
Only then did she let the tears fall.
"Y/N," Logan put a hand on her shoulder, and she lost it, falling to her knees as she sobbed. Logan kelt with her, keeping a hand on her shoulder but otherwise not getting to close. She had her hands covering her mouth, eyes squeezed tight as tears somehow still escaped.
"Thank you." She whispered through her tears, shifting to sit on the ground. She turned to face Logan now, eyes wide. "Thank you so much." She whispered. Logan nodded, his lips pressed in a thin line.
"Ya know, he would have eventually come off the serum, even if I hadn't been here. It was really you." He told her, and she just nodded. Logan helped her up, and she wiped her tears, sniffling as they made their way into the study. Charles was still shaking, sitting on a chair, and Y/N took a deep breath as she stood next to him. He slipped his hand back into her's, and this time she squeezed his as Hank opened the door.
"Are you sure about this?" Hank asked as they looked at the wheelchair in the closet.
"Absolutely not." Charles told him, but Hank got it out anyway. He helped Charles into the chair, and everyone was silent as they tried not to look at him. Hank and Logan shared an expression before leaving, Y/N sitting down in the chair across from him.
"I, um, just so you know," Y/N said, wiping her tears and hoping they wouldn't fall and cause Charles to think about it to much. "I've never cared if you could use your legs. Or, um, I never - I don't care if you don't want your powers. I just - I only want you to be happy. I don't want you to keep drinking. I don't want you to destroy yourself before your son even gets to meet you." She was struggling to keep her sobs in, and Charles reached forward and grabbed her hand.
"It's okay, Y/N, hey." Charles moved forward as much as he could to wipe her tears, and she grabbed one of his wrists.
"Charles," She whispered, and he felt the tears roll down his cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I'm sorry for all the pain I caused you." He sniffled, and she turned to kiss his palm. "I know that it wasn't easy for you. I know I haven't made things easy for you. But I still love you. And I can do better. I promise to do better." Charles told her, making her let out a sob.
"I'm just happy you're still the man I fell in love with."

Little One
Summary - After arriving home for the first time in 50 years, Rhysand is shocked to find someone so small in his sister's arms. (Azriel x Rhysands sister!oc)
Warnings - post UTM, broken Rhys, children
A/N - If this has posted, I have given birth and this is kicking off my maternity celebration. A lot of these next couple weeks will carry the theme of family. The good, bad, ugly, and happy sides of it. And of course, the angst and spice that comes with relationships. I wanted to start with a piece I wrote after my own brothers learned they were going to be Uncles for the first time, and will probably end the celebration with Light in the Hallway (dad!Eris x reader) because that piece is so... special to me.
"Well, welcome home!" Rhys nodded, looking at Cassian who was wearing a shit eating grin. Cassian kept looking at Azriel and back to Rhys. The high lord looked at Mor who was bouncing in place. Then Armen who was also hiding a smile.
Azriel was blushing, hiding in his shadows. Rhys was quick to notice the lack of black hair, golden skin, and long beautiful legs that normally stood holding Azriel's hands at all times. Something was wrong. Very wrong.
"Where's my sister?" Mor squealed at the comment, bouncing hard.
"You mean his wife?" Azriel shot a look to the blonde before his face grew more red. Rhys raised a brow before smiling ferally.
"Did you finally marry her? Azriel, that's-" Rhys face twitched to a half smile as the door opened and a familiar, "Where's my mate?" Came through the room.
He felt her exhaustion before he saw her. Her mind was a scattered mess of stress, and yet she was content and joyful. Rhys walked over to the doorway to the hall. He leaned against the framed out entry way from the greeting room to the living room watching the female.
Selene stood in the entrance, back to him as she removed her coat and then her heeled shoes. She was wearing a beautiful tea length black dress with tulle straps that tied over her shoulders. Her hair was longer, significantly longer, Rhys noted. "Stop staring Cassian."
Rhys smiled at the soft melody of her voice. The gentleness it held was a constant fresh air that comforted everyone around her. He cleared his throat, excited to see his baby sister for the first time in 50 years, "I apologize, Sel. I can't help but admire your beauty when I haven't laid eyes on you in so long." Selene instantly froze, her mind pausing to process the voice she heard. She moved again, standing up and stopping whatever she had been adjusting on the floor. She spun quickly, staring at him in shock.
He studied her face. It was truly the soft version of his. She had the same angular high cheekbones, the same starlight filled eyes, the same lip shape only hers were fuller. In fact, she in general was softer, fuller. She had gained a little weight, her breasts were fuller, hips a little wider. She was devastatingly beautiful before, but whatever had made her body scream "goddess" had Rhys thankful she was one of his spies and had not run off to another court.
She whispered softly, "Rhys."
"Selene."
They moved at the same time, her jumping into his chest, her arms finding his neck, his finding her waist. They laughed softly together. Rhysand's eyes closed as he took in the pleasant warmth of her body and the scent of flowers and honey. It took him a second, but his nose slowly processed something else. He dug his head into her neck, finding the scent of night air and cedar that clung to her skin. But there was something else.
Someone else. Rhysand's eyes snapped open while studying her. "Are you and Azriel welcoming other people into your bed again?" He smiled ferally at her, "The shields only been down for a day. He must be a good lover if you already ran off to him?"
The female threw her head back, her laughter ringing through the home like bells. She looked at Rhys, "One, your shields weren't that hard for me to get through. Two, we kind of are. Go sit on the couch and shut your eyes!"
Rhys raised a brow before following the orders of his sister. Mor was about to burst with joy, already holding back tears, Cassian was beaming. Armen smiled at Azriel as the shadowsinger softly smiled at Rhys. The high lord closed his eyes, "If this was a plot to kill me, just know im thankful it was your hands and not someone elses." Her laughter made him smile again as he heard her moving towards him.
The scent hit him again, stronger this time. He could finally place it. It was soft and spicy, as if it was still developing and wrapped heavily in the scent of Azriel. It reminded him of lavender and vanilla underneath all of the layer. Lavender, vanilla, and baby powder? Rhys questioned.
Rhys felt Selene's arms on his. She was moving gently and staying very quiet. In fact, the whole room had grown quiet as Rhys processed a soft fabric in his arms. As she removed her arms, leaving whatever she was holding in his hands, it hit him instantly. His eyes shot open, and a loud sob left his mouth.
"You had a fucking baby." Bright eyes stared back up at Rhys, studying him as Rhys raised a hand to stroke the rosy cheeks of the faeling in his arms. "Hi baby," He felt the first tear fall and didn't bother trying to hide the rest. "I'm your Uncle Rhys. What's your name?"
Azriel had moved, kneeling in front of Rhysand. He cooed his daughter softly as she stared up at her uncle with wide blue eyes. His blue eyes. His sister's blue eyes. "This is Estelle. She's just under a year old. I'm sorry we couldn't ask you about the name, but we just -" Selene and Azriel's jaws twitched. Selene had looked away and up, blocking the painful reminder.
"We knew," Cassian answered softly. "She looks just like sissy."
"She does." Rhys admired the tiny nose, chubby cheeks, and her perfect soft skin as he enjoyed this moment with his niece. She looked like a small version of his middle sister, the only key different was she had the same eyes as Rhys and Selene instead of the illyrian Hazel her namesake had inherited from his mother.
He held a hand out for Selene to take and the new mother did, moving to sit next to him. "Do you have everything she needs in all the houses?"
"We were only missing one thing, Rhys. And you're here now, so we have everything she needs," she answered softly, tears running down her own face. "I owe you some money and an apology, though. I had to break the shield for me to be able to get into Velaris, but I ensured Noone recognized me. I also spent a fair bit of money." She was playing with her long dark hair, guilt causing her shoulders to fall forward. "Cassian told me nothing she has could be used."
The high lord laughed, pulling his sister into him before kissing her head, "Oh no, how could you spend the money I would have spent on my niece anyways?" The sarcasm in his tone made the room laugh. "Should we get you and mommy matching dresses? Yes we should. My beautiful girls," Az hung his head in laughter before Rhys paused again, "You can feel the power in this little thing."
"She creates shadows-" Selene drug out the "s" as she avoided eye contact with Rhys.
"They're completely sentient. They have a mind of their own and only respond to her. They take the form of things she likes. Lately they have all looked like Armen. We also think something else is going on involving the stars. She almost… Glitters under the night sky." Azriel explained as his hand touched her head. Rhys looked to Amren, and the ancient being only smirked as she sipped her glass of spiced blood. Any ideas? He asked her silently.
Rhysand's eyes grew wide as he smirked at the giggling babe, her beautiful eyes locked on Auntie Amren, "Delightful. Tell me everything about her." The inner circle all moved to surround the High lord and new parents. Telling him stories about the baby girl chewing on his fingers before reaching out crying for her mother.
"I watched her rearrange the stars one night," Amren said slowly. "She must have missed Baba, because there's now a bat shaped constellation that wasn't there before. Isn't there, little one?"
"She's hungry. I'm sorry. I'll bring her right back," Selene moved with grace, collecting her daughter, and walking up the stairs, breast already mostly exposed as she cooed to the baby.
Rhys looked at Azriel and asked one last time, "You're sure you have everything she needs?"
Azriel smiled, "Like she said, you were the only thing missing. Stell has everything she needs, and I know we all will give her everything she could ever want." The inner circle nodded at the Spymaster's words. "Right now, the biggest argument we've had was if she'd continue tradition and we would take her to Illyria to train, or if we'd keep her here."
Rhysand watched as Cassian's jaw began a feather light twitch. "My niece is not training in Illyria unless things have changed completely and clipping is an offense punishable by death. Even then I will not leave her."
Azriel pinched the bridge of his nose. "So we forsake our culture? You and I know that will never happen. She will always be a target-"
"Another time, brothers." Rhysand smiled at them, stopping the argument that was about to ensure. "I'm taking the two of them shopping tomorrow. I'm buying everything Selene touches. I don't believe you have everything my little niece needs." Rhysand wanted to hear it one last time. To hear what she and Azriel both said and genuinely meant just one more time.
Azriel rolled his eyes, "She will not let you do that, Rhys. All that was missing was you."

See, this is what happens when people don't count important details in storytelling just because it's not being said outright, but rather shown through character expressions without dialogue. There were hints from the beginning that Stella was always meant to be a bad person and an obstacle to Stolas' feelings for Blitzø.
Don't believe me? Watch Loo Loo Land again with more open ears and eyes. Stella is shown throwing stuff at Stolas, including his sentient plants which he values highly and she was likely aware of that. That imp butler she threw at him means she not only abuses Stolas, but her own servants too, especially those of a particular lower class race.
Octavia's expressions here imply that this isn't an isolated incident either. That's the look of a girl who's heard this same type of arguing from her parents everyday. With how annoyed she looks, Stolas and Stella might as well have been fighting like this for years. It'd be more surprising if they didn't.
Octavia's lack of a reaction to her mom throwing a plant that almost hit her implies that this is far from the first time Stella has thrown things around the house. That is a concerning thing to get used to. Stella is also heard yelling about Stolas sleeping with an IMP, in THEIR bed. Notice the emphasis on "imp" and "our" bed. Even Stolas' only response to that is "I didn't have time to go to a motel!" It's pretty clear here that Stella is more concerned about about Stolas cheating on her with an imp specifically and ruining her reputation than the fact that he cheated at all.
If she was truly upset about the cheating itself, she would've said something more along the lines of "I can't believe you slept with someone else!" or something like that. Throwing their imp butler and him saying "You wanna fuck this one too?" and calling Stolas "pathetic, imp-sucking face" is all you need to know that Stella is making it more about WHO Stolas cheated on her with than the fact that he cheated. Keep in mind that this argument was going on right in front of Via, who didn't even say anything or try to stop it.
Octavia here says "You two done screaming for the day?" with little emotion, and Stolas' reply basically amounts to "Yup" without hesitation. More and more proof that his marriage with Stella was NEVER happy and never something that he wanted.
Later in the episode, Via does say that her parents used to love each other, even though we as the audience know it's not true. Stolas even tries to explain to her that he and Stella were never in love to begin with, but he didn't have the words. Because how exactly can you explain to your daughter that you and your wife were in an arranged marriage since you guys were kids for the sole purpose of producing a child, without offending her and making her think she was only born for one purpose? Or better yet, what reason is there to assume that she'd actually believe you?
People have looked at this picture on the wall and somehow came to the conclusion that Stolas and Stella used to be in a happy, loving relationship based on this picture alone, just because Stella is smiling in it. But if you look cloesly, you'll see that smile on Stella is barely there. She's very obviously faking it to keep up an image. She's forcing it so people won't get suspicious. This is the vision of Stella that Octavia remembers from her youth, which is exactly why she was naive enough to believe that her parents genuinely loved each other before Blitzø came along for a one night stand in hopes of getting the grimoire. Sure, she had seen them arguing and fighting with each other before that, but that's mainly because most if not all parents have gotten into nasty arguments at some point that their children were more likely than not to witness.
Stella is barely looking at Stolas there, clearly rolling her eyes and just wanting the picture to be overwith already. Stolas is genuinely happy there, but that's because his "little owlette" is there with him. He's not looking at Stella at all. Another picture in their house with just Stolas and Stella together has both of them frowning and looking at the camera, not each other. Octavia is the only thing to come out of Stolas' marriage that ever gave him any real happiness. She was the only reason he stayed at that house.
That scene where Stella ignores Octavia's cry for help when she's having a nightmare and tells Stolas to go check on her instead is more evidence that Stella had never been a nice person or a good mother. You could argue that she was just too tired to do anything about it, but look again. Stolas was just as tired as she was, yet he still went out of way to comfort his "little Starfire" when she was having a bad dream. Octavia may have called for both of her parents, but she said she had a bad dream about her father disappearing. Not her parents, just her father.
Also notice the drawings in Octavia's bedroom when she's a child. Look at how many of them are of her and Stolas together, but Stella is nowhere to be found in those drawings. That shows how close Via is to her father, especially when she was a little girl, but was never really close to her mother at all. Sure, those drawings are no longer in Via's room when she's a teen in the present, but remember that her and Stolas gradually got less close to each other as the years went by and their relationship got more flawed, to the point that Via questions if her dad even loves her anymore and literally listens to music about hating dads. But the fact remains that there were never any drawings of Stella in her daughter's room and there still isn't now is pretty telling that Stella was never a good mom, still isn't now and likely never will be.
Now look at The Harvest Moon Festival. If Loo Loo Land didn't convince you that Stella was a bitch, then this episode sure will. Stella's only scene in the episode is her screaming into a phone while she's talking to Striker about wanting Stolas dead. Right in front of him and Octavia. While Via is listening to music that's too loud for her to have even heard the screaming, Stolas heard it pretty clearly. But he had no reaction to his own wife screeching about hiring an assassin to kill him. Him being completely unphased by something like that is surely a sign that Stella had always hated his guts and he knew about it. He likely heard her shouting at the top of her lungs about wanting to murder him with her own bare hands. If he's not reacting to Stella talking to Striker on the phone about planning his death in front of him, he might as well have been hearing shit like that from her for years.
Not counting the pilot, those are the only two scenes with Stella in season 1. Both scenes depicted her in the same light. A loud, violent bitch in a loveless marriage. Therefore, her reveal in The Circus about always hating Stolas from the get go is not a retcon. Not that there was even much known about her character for there to be retconned in the first place, but her few scenes before that episode showed her doing and saying nothing BUT horrible things.
As for Stolitz, Blitzø is more than once implied to return Stolas' feelings for him. He just never said it out loud and is in denial about his own feelings. He's not even aware that Stolas' love for him is genuine because between their reuniting at the Not Divorce Party and their fumbled fake date at Ozzie's, Stolas has only ever talked to Blitzø with sexual innuendos. So Blitzø had no reason to assume that Stolas was legitimately in love with him and didn't just want him for sexy times, because Stolas hadn't really been helping his case. Blitzø ranted to Fizzarolli about Stolas "acting" like he cared about him outside of sex.
Everytime Blitzø talks about Stolas treating him like his own personal fuck toy, he looks and sounds pretty upset about it. I doubt he'd care all that much about his relationship with Stolas being transactional fucking if he didn't like him back. Right after the fake date gone wrong at Ozzie's, Blitzø is looking at several pictures saved in his phone, one of them being a photo of him Stolas laying together in bed. Blitzø looks genuinely happy in that photo, he's even smiling. He DOES enjoy being around Stolas. When Loona comforts him after Bee's party, he can be heard whispering the names of all the people he cares about and is close to. Those people being Loona, Moxxie, Millie and.... Stolas.
In Seeing Stars, Blitzø blushes when seeing Stolas in his human form and you can see his pupils dialating for a few seconds before he changes for a few seconds. I don't know about you, but I don't blush at anyone i'm not in love with when they get a new look. Pupils dialating are also a commom indication that you're looking at something you love. Later in that episode, Blitzo nervously sweats when Stolas whispers into his ear with a seductive voice, smiles at Stolas specifically when he causes the whole audience to laugh, and holds his hand while they run out of the burning building. Blitzø did not need to hold Stolas' hand. He could've just said "Hey, let's get the fuck outta here," and Stolas wouldn't have hesitated. On top of that, they are still shown holding hands long after they escaped and only let go once they see their daughters.
Now, onto the most complicated scene involving the Stolitz relationship, during Blitzø's ball tripping hallucination where he sees Stolas on top of a staircase and is being pulled towards him with chains. Already not a good sign. But Blitzø was already climbing the staircase before the chains appeared. Even when he saw Stolas above him, he didn't run away. He briefly walked towards him before being dragged towards him. He's seen blushing once he reaches the top and Stolas caresses his face. Also notice how the art style in Blitzø's ball trip sequence was completely different from how the show normally looks, but the moment he saw Stolas the art style changed back to normal. Meaning that Blitzø feels the most like himself when he's around Stolas.
He just wants to be in a legit, healthy relationship with Stolas out of love, not the transactional fuck buddy situation he's in right now. He wishes that Stolas would stop calling him degrading nicknames like "impish little plaything" and is bothered by the power imbalance between the two of them.
"Show, don't tell" is an important writing tool that isn't respected these days. If a story isn't being anvilicious and spoonfeeding you information with heavy-handed exposition and infodumps left and right, then foreshadowing details get dismissed and ignored, with some people straight up saying they don't count because it's not being spelled out to them every 5 seconds. This is why some people still insist that Stella's villainy was retconned and that Blitzø has no interest in Stolas despite evidence to the contrary. They were paying more attention to their headcanons than what the show actually presented, and got mad when their headcanons were contradicted by canon.

someone else tries to get with them
feat loser!kuroo, enemies to lovers!kita, and toxic!oikawa
part 1
cw: fem!reader
loser!kuroo
kuroo's body tensed the second one of them came close to him. he always hates these events — spending hours fake laughing at awful jokes to get on the good side of investors. his only joy is when you tag along, keeping prying eyes at bay.
but kuroo's found himself cornered by three women, all the much-too-young wives of some of his colleagues who were all taken with the handsome ceo.
"this suit looks amazing on you," one of them said. kuroo wanted to tell her that his wife picked out his outfit but before he could answer, another chimed in. "you just fill it up so well, have you been working out?"
his eyes flick over across the room, where you're standing with a quirked brow. you've calmed down a lot since marriage and don't explode with anger every time another woman so much as breaths near kuroo anymore. instead, you took a sip from your wine glass and gave him a look that said, "figure it out."
"can we get you a drink?" one of the other women asks as kuroo feels another pulling on his bicep. did they not see the wedding band on his finger? did none of them notice him walking into the room with you on his arm?
he starts sweating, eyes darting back to you and then the women. kuroo's so used to you taking charge and staking your claim on him but he can't allow you to be disrespected like this.
as one of the women tries to pull him in again, kuroo fights out of her grasp. "i'm married!!!" he blurted out, startling not only the women but a few people that were nearby. embarrassed that he raised his voice, kuroo cleared his throat. "sorry for yelling but i don't think it's appropriate for us to talk like this. i love my wife very much. have a good night."
kuroo makes his way toward you, a smug grin on your face. "so, you into ugly girls or something?"
"baby, please," he whines.
enemies to lovers!kita
you may have found kita absolutely insufferable but most people found him a joy to be around. he was kind and respectful to others. the kind of person that helps others without asking or walks old ladies across the street. it seemed as though kita didn't have an unkind word to say about anyone, except for you.
because of his benevolence, most people wanted to be around him. girls threw themselves at him, knowing that he'd be the type to spoil his significant other. that wasn't the annoying part — because you definitely didn't care about some dumb bimbo trying to get his attention. it was the older women who tried to set kita up with their daughters that irked you the most.
"you know, i have a daughter your age that you'd just be perfect for," or "do you have a girlfriend? my niece could really use a sweet boy like you, can i give her your number?"
even after explaining that he was too focused on his studies and helping his grandma with the farm to even think about dating, these women wouldn't take no for an answer.
"can you tell whoever's blowing up your phone to cut the shit?" you complained, growing tired of the constant buzzing.
kita rolls his eyes at your foul language. he doesn't bother looking at his phone as the two of you lock up the club room for the night. "one of my grandma's friends gave my number to her daughter and she keeps tryin' to set up a date," he says, bored expression never leaving his face.
"you're that down bad that you need your grandma's buddies to get a date?" you scoffed, trying to hide the fact that it may bother you just a little bit that there are so many people trying to get kita's attention.
perceptive as ever, kita catches onto your catty attitude. "she probably won't stop until i say yes to a date," he says nonchalantly, walking back onto campus.
he's only getting a rise out of you. what little free time kita has left from all of his other responsibilities goes to you—both of you know it's true, there's no reason to argue. still, you'd just die if you couldn't make a comment at his expense. "i mean if, sure, you're into ugly girls. this girl can't get a date on her own?" you rambled, stomping beside kita as you head back to your apartment. "but don't let me stop you. i know how much you love doing charity work."
"i won't go if you don't want me to," kita hums, holding the door open for you (1. because he's a gentleman, 2. because he knows it pisses you off.)
"i don't care what you do," you said back to him in a similar mocking tone.
that weekend, though, kita is at your place, where he usually spends most of his weekends. "your date was that bad, huh?" you said as soon as you open the door for him.
"i told her it wouldn't work out and deleted her number," kita answers, carefully removing his shoes and placing them neatly by your door. "i only have time fer important things." he makes direct eye contact when he says it before brushing past you to head to your bedroom.
kita's words stump you for a second, trying to figure out what he meant but soon, his irritating voice comes back, scolding you to hurry back and any thought you had before is forgotten as an insult leaves your lips.
toxic!oikawa
you felt terrible for being late. punctuality was something you always prided yourself on but your boss seemed to think differently, keeping you in the office for hours.
normally, you'd suck it up and accept that you had a shit day at work but you and oikawa had a date planned — one that took ages for both of you to set up.
the image of oikawa sitting at the restaurant alone broke your heart, so you practically raced over there, barely having time to change out of your work clothes.
"i'm so sorry, babe. my boss is such a dick and then the trains were slow—" you rambled as soon as you sat down, immediately asking for your boyfriend's forgiveness
"hey, slow down! it's okay, honey," he said, pushing a glass of wine across the table for you. "i know you didn't mean to be late. you're here now, that's what matters. i already ordered for the two of us."
he had every right to lay into you tonight. this was the perfect opportunity for him to be at his most dramatic, to really make you feel guilty for being late but he acted with a maturity you weren't used to seeing.
"i still feel bad that you were sitting here all by yourself," you said, reaching over to hold his hand.
oikawa shrugged. "well, i wasn't totally alone. our waitress kept me company while i waited."
you hate to say that the second he said "waitress" the alarm bells started ringing in your head. a handsome, young man like oikawa sitting alone in a fancy restaurant is like food on a silver platter for some of these vultures.
and you could only imagine how charming he must have been when the waitress comforted him about being by himself—smiling at her jokes and staring up at her with those warm brown eyes of his, completely unaware of that she would take it as an invitation.
you tried to swallow the bitterness down, not wanting to put a sour note on the night. you opened your mouth to speak but a grating sound stopped you.
"ohhhh, how good of you to finally show," said the high-pitched voice, dripping with faux concern. "i was worried you might have stood this poor man up."
oikawa laughs at the unfunny joke, clearly finding all of this amusing and she practically sparkles at the slightest hint of his approval. "i don't know how you'd ever let him out of your sight. any girl would just love to snatch him right up,'
his eyes glance over at you, ready to see how you'll react. oikawa just loves it when you get territorial of him and even though you've gotten better over the years, there's still that part of you that's always ready to claw someone's eyes out for thinking they could stake their claim on him.
"you're right, any girl would. in fact, many have tried and they've all failed," you smiled up at her, gripping oikawa's hand harder so she would have to take notice of it. "now be a dear and have our food ready soon, okay? i want to spend some time with my boyfriend."
with her tail between her legs, the waitress scurries from the table, muttering something about the food. oikawa laughs again, pressing a quick kiss to your knuckles. "my mean baby, you know you don't have anything to worry about, yeah?"
of course, you knew. you wouldn't be with oikawa if you didn't trust him but any girl who had the slightest inkling that she could lead your man astray had to be humbled—and oikawa would be lying if he didn't enjoy the possessive look you get in your eye.
"let's enjoy our dinner, babe."

It's fate part two ( Bradley bradshaw x reader)
summary : bradley can't stay away and well jake soon finds out leading to a blow up game of dogfight football
warning: none its still goofy fun well one fight but other than that it's fluff
previous part
Never had he been sure of anything then fact was he sitting across from his future wife. From the way she laughed to smile , how she animatedly told him of the different kids in her class and how each was a character in their own right . he imagine would she talk like that about their kid albeit he was getting a little ahead since he hadn’t even asked her on the first date nor did her brother his fellow aviator and well close friend he was even talking to her in the first place . yet in that moment i wasn’t on his mind , jake wasn’t on his mind as he sat in the cafe on what was the third time he was meeting with the woman he couldn’t get out of his head.
“ i’ve not let you get a word in have i ?” she chuckled looking up as she took a bite of her brownie .
“ seriously talk away it amazing to hear about little katie and her overcoming the sandpit but i do wanna know if little zack got his dog cat yet?” he smiled almost dreamily as she laughed the way her head fell back and the way the sound literally warmed his insides better then any coffee he’s drank so far taking full advantage of his weekend off not caring to go to the beach or beat jake in dog tag football like he usually is no bradley is content with sitting in a cafe listening about kids he never even saw . so lost in her not even the buzzing on his own phone snapped this spell she had on him till her own went off .
“ sorry let me take this” she smiled before bringing it up to her ear. “ hey idiot … yeah i can come and bradley can bring me .. what he’s here with me know yeah jake we will be there soon” she rolled her eyes before hanging up . “ my dumb brother wants us to meet him at the beach something about some game” she shrugged as bradley came crashing back to earth.
“ yeah sure lets go i’ll follow you” he smiled as took got ready to leave watching as she walked out. “ well i guess i’ll see my parent quicker than i thought i would “ he sighed leaving a tip on table before slowly heading to what was going to be his doom .
From the look on jake seresins face when they arrive on the beach well doom was the right and accurate world to describe the following .
“ I’ll sit with little seresin ..hey i’m natasha you can call me nat” phoenix smiled really not wanting to be caught in the crossfire of what was about to come as Mav called the two captains to only be jake and bradley .
“ i told you she’s off limits chicken “ jake glared getting in position .
“ i told you it’s fate bagman “ rooster almost copied as the two glared it didn’t matter who was on side no this was between them two and them alone in this game . the moment javy passed the ball throwing it to bob who ultimately tried to throw it back to jake only for fanboy to intercept and throw it to payback then in turn threw it too rooster . well with who he was determined to impress stood on side lines rooster ran playing probably the best he had since he ever came across the game .
“ 1 point to roosters team “ Mav called as y/n cheered making her brother pissed off .
Throughout the game both men done whatever in their power knocking each other over diving and dotting til the scores where tied both panting and glaring at each other as their teammates honestly was happy to call it a tie .
“ is it usually this … violent” y/n asked nat worried for both men .
“ well there a more push rate here” nat winced instantly catching her on to what it was .
Once she watched as the two began head to head like to bulls charging til it was no longer just pushing and well fist started fly sending the men over pull them apart both men yelling at mav with bruise cheeks and egos and she walked closer.
“ he’s dating my sister”
“ it’s not a date …yet she’s an adult asshat” .
“ a girl really grow hell up both of you” mav rolled his eyes as the two began shouting back and forth .
“ sorry sir may i try “ she smiled sweetly up all doe eyes and sugarly sweet .
“ i’m willing to try anything kid knock yourself out “ now what mav didn’t expect was the loud whistle that shut the boys up or the fast she grab both of the men by the ear .
“ now y’all gonna talk like adults or am going to show you how we treat misbehaving children “ she looked between the two sternly as they instantly shut up .
“ you can’t date rooster , one he’s old as hell and two he’s my friend” jake huffed.
“ jakey buddy you have slept with i could easily name five of my friends and another five co workers another think if i wanna sleep with or date someone i will choose myself i am adult seem more of an adult then you” she crouched.
“ i said that , i’m not old as hell ” rooster spoke up .
“ and you well goading my brother and hitting him ain’t gonna happen again because idiot or not i kinda love him is that clear “ she stood as he gulped and nodded. “ now shake hands and grow up because i will give that man my number and jake can tell you how my mama kept his ass in straight line” she stomped over to Mav.
“ sorry chicken “ jake grumbled.
“ sorry bagman” .
“ like you mean it jesus “ she rolled her eyes .
“ sorry bradley .. shit maybe if she dates you be less well that” .
“ sorry jake … dude i might marry you sister today” .
“ you can take me on a date first bradley brooster radley “ she chuckled gathering her things.
“ have you ever thought of joining the navy?” Mav asked shocked at the scene before him .
“Oh and bradley pick me up at 7 “ was all she said before she headed up the beach .
“ yessss ma’am… my wife is so pretty” he sighed happily .
“ you aint married her yet” jake chuckled
“ i’m gonna i’m telling you its’ ….”
“ Fate “ the all groaned .
Now as first date would be, he was never a ball of emotions as he was now almost pacing a hole in jake seresins floor as he waiting for her to get ready .
“ really man i’ll lose my deposit you keep that up “ the blonde huffed eyes on the game that played on his television .
“ sorry my nerves are gonna dent your income man i’m freaking out and all while in the chicks living room in front of you “.
“ man where was confidence from earlier look for some weird reason she really likes you so i’m pretty sure even you couldn’t screw this up “
“ yeah thanks for the shiner really what my outfit needed “ he grumbled .
“ you ready” she called and god she almost knocked him on his ass as he took in the sight of her man she could wear a potato sack and still look like a queen . the white sun dress hit her thighs or the red lips that paired well with her nails like something straight out of his fantasy .
“ yeah .. yup ..yes.. Lets go “ he sighed ignoring the weird look jake was giving him or the way she was hiding her amusement .
“ home by midnight” jake called .
“ i’ll be home whenever i want to” she called back as door shut .
“ jesus he really is gonna be my brother in law” the blonde groaned .

Hi there! Could I request fem!reader x husk reuniting in hell?
Maybe they used to be together when they were alive but then a misunderstanding happened and they split up/ or one of them just died 😭
Someone from hotel found about it, found her and brought her there or maybe she just came there and met him. Idk I leave it to you.
I know it might be stupid but I really love this trope and want to read something like this with Husk :3
We’ll Meet Again
“So,” Angel began, laying in the bar with a perfect view of Husks’s hands as he fluidly went through the motions of mixing a drink, “what’s the ring for?”
Angel had said a lot of dumb shit. Like, a lot but he’d never said something that threw Husk off enough to actually spill something.
“Fuck,” Husk grumbled.
He grabbed a rag to clean the mess. It was then Angel realized that the only reason he’d ever seen Husk grab the cloth was to clean up someone else’s mess, never his own.
Angel sat upright. “So, I’m guessing it’s personal?”
Husk looked at Angel and paused his cleaning. “No shit.” He continued on.
It wasn’t until weeks later that Angel would see Husk wasted. In fact, all the hotel residents would see Husk truly wasted for the first time.
He came in, barely able to stand much less walk and ignored everyone, promptly flipping Charlie off when she asked if he needed help, and continued to make his way to the stairs.
“Oh, yeah,” Niffty said, “it’s that time of year again.”
“What could possibly have our resident day drunk absolutely plastered?” Angel asked.
“This happens every year?” Charlie asked, much more concern coming from her voice compared to Angel’s snark which covered his own.
Alastor appeared at the end of the stairs. “Ah, the woos of a broken heart strike once again,” he said as he spun his microphone before he leaned on it, staring up the staircase. “One would think after over seventy years, he would be over it, hmm?”
“That’s not fair, sir,” Niffty said as she joined him. “She was the love of his life.”
“And his life is now over,” he said in response.
“I’m gonna go check on him,” Niffty said as she began darting up the stairs. “I don’t want to have to clean vomit out of the carpet.”
“What’s wrong with Husk?” Charlie asked, standing with her hands clutched close to her chest.
“Nothing he hasn’t faced before, my dear,” Alastor said. “It happens every year. For a week expect him to disappear for long periods of time and come back completely zozzled. Although, he may be inclined to stay if I procure him something stronger. I would love a front row seat at a stage play compared to a parade, a rather sad parade but a parade nonetheless.”
“What happened?”
“Hmm? Yes, well, I suppose you don’t know, do you?” Alastor said. “Our dear Husker used to be married, unfortunately before they could grow old together, they happened to get into a lover’s quarrel and before it could be resolved, his darling wife was murdered in a street mugging gone wrong.”
Angel felt his heart sink down into his stomach. That’s why Husk had gotten so defensive. He’d probably been trying to avoid thinking about it and there Angel went with his big mouth, bringing up something that hurt him right around a trauma days.
“That’s horrible!” Charlie exclaimed.
“Yes, indeed but life is hardly kind, my dear. Death is rather the same,” Alastor said before he went to take stock of the liquor at the bar.
It was a long time before Angel learned a name but that’s all he had to go on, was a name and a description of what you looked like with an off hand comment or two about some of your hobbies.
A year paced and Angel was on his way back to the Hotel from a long night at work when he saw a woman crying as she walked. Normally he’d walk on by. It’s not like it was an uncommon sight to see in Hell but he didn’t. Something compelled him to stop.
“You alright, toots?” he asked as he slowed down so he didn’t walk past you.
You looked up at him. You weren’t ugly crying. You weren’t really showing any emotion but Angel knew just how much of a curse it was to bottle things up. He knew a vacant cry wasn’t any less concerning than a violent one.
“I’m fine,” you said as you quickly tried to wipe you tears.
Angel’s eyes flickered down to where you were fiddling with a ring.
“Martial problems?”
You huffed a laugh. “Yeah, something like that.”
“You wanna talk about it?”
“Why do you care?”
“I don’t know,” he answered honestly. “Maybe it’s because I’m just bored and noisy but I’ve also been staying at the Princess’s redemption Hotel. Maybe it’s made me a more carin’ person.”
You said nothing. The two of you walked side by side for a few minutes, both going in the same direction.
“It’s my death anniversary,” you blurted out.
Angel winced in sympathy. “Those are rough. I’m sorry.”
You shook your head. “It’s not dying that bothered me. It just—“ you felt yourself getting choked up— “I died while having a fight with my husband.”
“Did he kill you?” Angel asked.
“No, no, someone else did but we were fighting and it was over something stupid,” you clarified. “I slammed the door after yelling some bad things. They were the last things I ever said to him.”
Angel’s brow furrowed. “This is gonna sound stupid if I’m wrong but,” and he asked if your name was the one Husk had given him not that long ago. When you said yes, he laughed a bit hysterically. “Fuck, I didn’t think I was right.”
You followed Angel into the Hazbin Hotel. You were wary. You didn’t believe him. You didn’t want to get your hopes up.
“Hey, where’s Husk?” Angel asked.
Charlie looked up from the charts she had spread across the table as she sat on the couch. “Vaggie helped him go up to his room not that long ago.”
“How was he doing?”
“Not good.” Charlie got up. “Who’s this.”
When Angel said your name and Charlie gasped it gave you a bit of hope. A random sinner on the street fucking with you was to be expected. The Princess of Hell who prided herself on her kindness? That’s as a bit more trustworthy.
“Here, let me take you to his room,” Charlie said as she grabbed your hand and pulled you up the stairs.
The door barely creaked as it was opened. It revealed a damn near exact replica of your home in life and on the bed was a black tuxedo cat with red wings curled up on his side.
“That’s him?” you asked, twisting your ring on your finger.
Charlie nodded. You hesitantly stepped into the room.
“I’ll leave you two alone,” Charlie said as she closed the door.
You stood there for a minute. You just stared at the cat that was supposed to be your husband. He looked so tense, even in sleep.
You took another step forward and then another until you were beside the bed. On the nightstand was a hat and tie.
You picked up the loose tie and twisted it between your fingers. For some reason you couldn’t explain, you held it up to your nose. You nearly collapsed as so many memories rushed to you from the smell, from his smell. It smelled like the same cologne he used to dot on before he went to perform or go play a round of cards at the bar.
You tried to keep the sobs bubbling up in your throat at bay but it was all for not. They came out anyway as you curled in on yourself, standing at the bedside.
There was a groan.
“The fuck?” your husband’s voice said.
You said his name, his real name and his eyes went wide as he shot up. He swayed and caught himself on the headboard.
“Am I hallucinating?” he asked.
You couldn’t get words out to answer. Instead you’d hugged him, causing you both to fall onto the mattress as neither of you had the energy to keep yourself up.
You woke up the next morning wrapped in Husk’s arms and wings. You felt safe for the first time since you fell to Hell.
You didn’t want to leave. You didn’t want to let go. Luckily you didn’t have to.
No one was surprised when they didn’t see Husk for the next week. They were surprised when he came out of his room smiling, with you by his side and he refused to let go.

I’m Not Gonna Leave You | Tommy Shelby x Reader

(Y/N) threw the door to the townhome open, her heart beating so loudly that it was all that she could hear. "Ada!" she called out as she began looking in the front rooms, "Ada where are you?" her panic increased with each second as she wondered if the ambulance had come already. She wasn't sure if she wanted it to have or not.
She got her answer when she walked further into the main hallway and found her husband and sister-in-law sitting at the bottom of the stairs. Ada was trying to keep Tommy engaged while Tommy was trying with all he could not to let his head lull back and his eyes shut. "Oh no," she gasped, rushing over to where they were. "Tommy...Tommy, what's happened?" she frantically searched for his hand, wanting to hold onto it.
"I don't know what happened, (Y/N). He came here like this," Ada answered, her voice shaky, "he...he said that he had a fractured skull, a concussion and internal bleeding, and that he couldn't see," she then rattled off what Tommy had told her when he'd asked her to drive him to the hospital. She decided to call him an ambulance instead.
"(Y/N)..." Tommy stumbled over his wife's name as he tried to get it out with what little energy he had left.
"Tommy? What, what is it?" she quickly turned her attention to him, holding onto his hand tighter.
"I...I love you. You and the children...they, they mean so mu...so..." he stammered out, squeezing his eyes together and opening them again in hopes that he'd see her beautiful face, but everything was still black.
"No, no...you're not doing this. You're not saying goodbye," (Y/N) began choking on her cries once she realized what he was doing.
"I need to...I need to sleep," he panted out before he finally let his head drop, his body losing its tension as his grip on her hand went limp.
"No!," (Y/N) screamed, a wail leaving her body as she grabbed onto her husband's jacket, trying anything she could to get him to come back to her.
"(Y/N)..." Ada's voice came from her side, calmer than she should have been at that moment, "(Y/N)..."
"No, he's..he's..." she choked on her words, still trying desperately to get Tommy to stay with her.
"Wake up, (Y/N)," she heard before she was shaken awake. She noticed that she was in her dark bedroom as she sat up, gasping for breaths while trying to figure out fact from fiction.
"Tommy," she panted, looking over at him as she tried to calm her breathing, "you're...you're here."
"I am, love...I'm here," he nodded, speaking in a calming voice as his eyes searched over her face, "come 'ere," he said to her then, opening his arms so that she could fall into them.
She tucked her face into the crook of his neck and took a deep breath, inhaling his scent and repeatedly telling herself that he was still alive. Her hand traveled up from his shoulder to the top of his head, feeling the scar that was left over from his surgery. Feeling it made her heart hurt, but it reminded her that he'd survived...that what had happened in her nightmare wasn't how things went down in real life.
"Another nightmare?" Tommy asked her after she seemed to have calmed down.
"Yeah," she whispered, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. She finally felt like she could hold herself again. The shaking had calmed down and her mind wasn't running at a mile a minute.
She let go of him, sitting up straight in bed so that she could look at him. She studied his face for a few moments, as if she was committing it to memory, before she looked down at her lap.
"You ok?" Tommy broke the silence, watching her intently.
"I, uh..." (Y/N) trailed off, brushing her hair out of her face as she looked up again, "I'm going to go for a moment," she said then, moving the covers off of her body so that she could leave the bed. She was able to leave the room without being asked any questions, and that was something she was thankful for.
She found herself on the chaise lounge in her private study after checking to make sure that her children were still sleeping soundly. She stared at the ceiling as she laid back on the lounge, trying to focus on the sound of the crackling fire that one of the maids had just made for her. Trying to think of anything other than what she'd just gone through.
These nightmares had been playing out ever since Tommy's incident and subsequent surgery happened four months ago. He was home now, taking it slow and trying to work his way back to the level he was at before, but (Y/N) still worried that the effects of his injuries would persist and return. The doctors hadn't said that there wasn't a chance of that happening. No matter how many times he assured her that she was ok, she still worried for him. He would always tell her that he was ok, right? But yet the scene that she walked into at Ada's townhome that evening was still burned into her mind.
Thankfully the ambulance did show up in real life...and that they were able to get Tommy to the hospital and to the help he needed before he died on the steps. But the worst always happened in her nightmares, and that was something that she kept to herself; no matter how realistic they seemed. She didn't want to burden others with the horror of them.
She wasn't sure how long she'd been sitting in there before there was a knock on the door. It opened shortly after and Tommy stepped into the room, sleep prevalent in his mannerisms from across the room. His hair was disheveled and his trousers were haphazardly pulled up over his legs, the henley shirt that he usually wore to bed half tucked in and half let out. (Y/N) couldn't stop her heart from squeezing at the sight. Some days it was still a mystery; how she'd managed to find herself a man like him.
"You've been away for a while," he said to her once he was standing in front of the lounge.
"I lost track of time," she replied, glancing up at him before she brought her knees up to her chest and hugged onto her legs while staring out at the fire in front of her. Tommy watched her do this, silently feeling out the climate; trying to decide if he should stick around or leave her be.
He made his decision by sitting down on the now empty spot of the lounge. Him doing so blocked the fire from (Y/N)'s line of view, making her look at him instead. "What are your nightmares about?" he decided to jump right to the question, "they may not be so bad if you talk about them."
"I don't want to burden you with it," she answered him, resting her chin on her kneecaps as a frown formed on her face.
"You wouldn't be, love," he shook his head slightly, "you know about mine...it's only fair you tell me yours. You don't need to worry about scaring me off. I'm not going anywhere, and you can try as hard as you want, but there's nothing you can say that's going to make me love you any less," he assured her then, his eyes soft as he spoke.
(Y/N) sucked in a deep breath after hearing Tommy's statement. She thought about all of the times throughout their relationship where he'd been the one needing to be woken up due to his nightmares. (Y/N) would sit up with him after each and every time; talking through what he'd experienced so that he'd get some clarity from the terrors he'd just gone through.
"They're always of the night that I found you at Ada's house...but you never make it long enough for the ambulance to arrive," she detailed the events of her nightmares, starting to get choked up just from thinking about them. Tommy furrowed his eyebrows as he listened to what she had to say. It was obvious that he was thinking over what she was telling him; putting the pieces together in his mind so that he'd have a thought out response for her when she was finished talking. She continued after taking another deep breath, "they make me think about the worst case scenario...about how things could have been had I lost you that night. And they make me think of how things could be if anything comes up as a result of your injuries."
"Nothing's gonna happen to me, (Y/N)," he assured her, his eyes locked onto hers as he spoke, "I'm not gonna leave you."
"We don't know that for certain. The doctor's said they couldn't rule out the possibility of there being lasting effects from these injuries...or the possibility of something happening to you after the fact," she rattled off her biggest fears, her mind being transported to that harrowing conversation they had with his team of doctors before he was discharged from the hospital.
"I'm going to try my damnedest not to let it happen," he told her, speaking with the utmost confidence. (Y/N) offered him a shaky smile in response. She wanted so bad to take his promise and let it override all of her worries, but no matter how hard she tried, that nagging voice in the back of her mind kept telling her to think the worst. "Hey...come 'ere," he said to her, realizing that she was at war with herself inside her mind again.
(Y/N) listened to him, scooting over on the lounge so that she could fall into his arms for the second time that night. She exhaled the breath she'd been holding as she allowed him to hold her tightly against him. It felt like a weight had been lifted off of her chest now.
"I'm not gonna leave you, (Y/N), ok?" he mumbled into her hair after some time had passed. (Y/N) finally lifted her head from his chest so that she could look at him again. Their eyes met and she instantly felt like all of her fears and worries were miles away. The slightest smile formed on her face as she nodded her head, showing him that she'd heard what he said and that she was going to hold onto that statement with all she could.
Tommy smiled softly at her, happy that she seemed more relaxed now than she did when they'd both been woken up by her nightmare. He leaned in and kissed her then, feeling her smile grow the second his lips met hers.
Tomorrow surely had another set of challenges coming with it, but (Y/N) wasn't going to worry about that now because, at least for tonight, things were ok.

POLIN - Height Difference Blurb ~ Polin Week 2024
pairing: colin bridgerton x penelope featherington/bridgerton
word count: 1k
a/n: short fluff blurb for polin week 2024. hope you all enjoy! <3
-
Married life offered no shortage of laughter and the occasional playful jibe for Colin and Penelope. It was something the pair were well accustomed to throughout their years of friendship, and whilst most of their barb remarks were directed at unknowing Lords and Ladies of the Ton, they still threw a few at each other, enjoying the small grin and childish eye roll they’d receive from one another.
While Penelope often took jabs at Colin’s tendency to eat everything in sight or the fact that sometimes his high-spirited character reminded her of his little nephew Augie and made her question if he really was the age of four and twenty, Colin preferred to hit back with jokes about her height, or ‘lack of’ in his own words.
It just came far too naturally to Colin, especially when he knew that, compared to Penelope, he stood more tall and commanding than ever. He just couldn’t resist making fun of Penelope’s petite stature.
"Good morning, my little fairy," he said one sunny morning as they enjoyed breakfast in their sun-drenched dining room.
With narrowed eyes, Penelope looked up from her tea, glistening with amusement. Every day he surprised her with some new term of affection or way to show off his love, but Penelope knew from the devilish grin on his face that he was up to no good, and well, two could play that game.
"Good morning, my towering giant. How is the weather up there?"
Colin chuckled, leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead. "Clear skies, as always. Just like my view of you from up here."
Penelope swatted him playfully with her napkin. "One of these days, Colin Bridgerton, I will level the playing field."
Hitting the napkin away with his hand, he only widened the grin that decorated his face. ‘’Perhaps a stepping stool will be needed if you wish to level the playing field, Mrs. Bridgerton. Shall I fetch the housekeeper?’’
-
At balls, Colin’s jibes only continued. He would reach for the highest canapes and hand them to Penelope with an exaggerated bow. "For my darling wife, who needs a bit of elevation in her life."
Penelope would roll her eyes, though her smile never faded. "Perhaps some elevation would do me some good. It would make me just the right height to wipe that silly grin off of your face.’’
‘’Pen! What a mean little fairy you are.’’
And if Colin felt the pair hadn’t laughed enough after a ball or a lively dinner party, he’d make sure to further their running joke when the pair were alone in their private sitting room.
With Colin stretched out on the sofa, Penelope would get up to choose a book for them to read before they retired for the night, and as she’d get up, she’d see the clogs moving around in his head, knowing a silly comment was in the making.
"Need some help, Pen?" he called out, his tone teasing as he watched her eyes scan over the grand bookshelf.
Penelope glanced over her shoulder with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Not at all. I have got this."
Just as she said that, she fetched a small footstool (the one that Colin got their housekeeper to retrieve despite Penelope only exaggerating her want for one) and climbed onto it, retrieving the book with ease. Turning around triumphantly, she held the book aloft. "See? I do not always need your height advantage."
Colin laughed, getting up to join her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her off the stool and twirling her around. "Touché, Mrs. Bridgerton. But I must say, I quite like being your knight in shining armour, reaching things for you."
Penelope smiled, her arms around his neck. "And I quite like having you as my knight. Even if you are insufferable sometimes."
And their jokes weren’t just for the two of them; they even reached the ears of the rest of the Bridgerton family who were now all aware of and well adapted to the playfulness between Colin and Penelope.
One particularly memorable afternoon, they attended a luncheon hosted by Kate and Anthony. As the couples lounged in the garden, enjoying the pleasant weather, the conversation turned to amusing stories of married life.
"Colin still loves to tease me about my height," Penelope confessed, leaning against her husband's side. "But I have learned to give it right back."
Kate smiled. "Oh, I remember the days when he would tease you mercilessly. It is wonderful to see how well you handle it now. There is nothing worse than a devilish husband; I know the feeling all too well.’’ She laughed, narrowing her eyes at her husband, Anthony, who sat looking as clueless as ever.
‘’What have I done now?’’ Anthony sighed.
Colin grinned, ignoring his eldest brother, and kissed Penelope’s temple. "She has always handled it well. And I love her all the more for it."
And as the sun set and the picnic drew to a close, Colin and Penelope walked hand-in-hand through the gardens. Colin looked down at his wife, his eyes filled with love and admiration. "You know, Pen, I would not change a thing about you. Not even your height. I think it is one of my favourite things about you."
Penelope smiled up at him, her heart full. "And I would not change a thing about you, Colin. Not even your incessant teasing...or your tendency to steal all my biscuits...or your...''
''Yes, yes, Pen, I think I understand. I am perfect and unchangeable.'' Another eye roll from Penelope later and they stopped walking, Colin cupping her face in his hands, bending down to kiss her gently. "I love you, my little fairy."
"And I love you, my towering giant," Penelope replied, her voice soft and full of emotion.

[ papamin ] I wish that woman wouldn't stress me the way she does. // f!reader x kento. //
Oh the way Nanami kento would spend every penny, every dime left in his deep pockets just to see your eyes flicker with joy.
You were the only woman
that he allowed close.
YOU and your husband were out shopping, Kenji or as you called him, Ji-ji accompanied as he sucked his chubby thumb as if his life depended on it. Few people shot you and Kento various glances, some even went to the extreme by raising their eyebrows.
It was a shock to see him, with a woman like you. To your friends you two were a perfect match, you were classy but kento was beyond that, elegant but even beyond elegant. Maybe it was the fact that you a brown skinned woman with shape, walked alongside a man with lightly tanned skin and on top of that, he had a perfectly tall muscular figure.
You two were wearing completely different clothes at that, you decided to go simple today, as you threw on a tight, long black dress, with long sleeves to add on, it had a pretty perfect fit on you. Nanami naturally didn't settle for whatever 'normal' was to you, he always had to go out of his way with every outfit, he did it without realizing. He wore a black suit that matched your dress, and his usual watch, almost as if he had a major event to attend to but in all honesty he didn't.
You loved how he never settled for the normal things.
You scoffed, Kento shot you a glance as he barely paid any attention to anyone besides you & Ji-ji. His grip around your smaller hand tightened, as he snuck his fingers between yours, you held Ji-ji on your hip. One colorful shop caught your eye, as you and Nanami came to a stop right in front of it.
“This one?” Nanami observed the bright rainbow colors, especially the ones that stood out, the ones that reminded him of you which encouraged him to follow through with your idea. Before stepping in, you handed Ji-ji to Nanami for the time being just so you didn't get too distracted, Ji-ji was in a dying need of new clothes (he already had over 50+ sets but thats not the point.)
YOU found 10 new sets only minutes after stepping into the shop, everything was well put together so it was simple to find everything needed. Until you overheard the light laugh of a young woman, still around your age though, but that wasn't what bothered youーit was your husbands voice, too.
"Wheres his mother? or are you not married."
"Actually I-"
"Its fine, its not a shocker that you aren't married, thats how some women are nowadays, sadly." the worker whos name tag read 'Stepphie,' plastered a clearly fake pout on her face, as she put more clothes out onto the racks.
"Baby, whats going on?" you showcased your anger & jealousy in different ways, and just to be petty you had to rub it in her face, you lightly brushed your lips on Nanamis cheek, as he snaked his hand around your curvy waist.
"This is my lady, Y/N, also known asーmy beautiful wife."
You shot the woman an evil glance, as she stood there dumbfounded.
"If you allowed him to finish his sentence earlier, then you would know that hon." You lightly tapped her shoulder as she flushed pink to red, naturally embarrassed.
"M'sorry." she quickly turned away, finding other racks that needed a restock to easily distract herself.
Moments later, you three checked out.
"You couldn't tell she was flirting with you?"
"Honestly, no."
That didn't really surprise you, since it took you a good year to get Nanami to realize you grew fond of him, for 12 full months he didn't catch a single hint until the new years party, which even then it took one of your friends to accidentally blurt out the fact that you had a kiddie crush on Kento.
You placed the last bag down, aligning it with every other bag in the truck just because you're a slight perfectionist.
"I'll take your word for it, next time im not letting it slide."
"There wont be a next time, mylady."
"Thats even better," You shut the trunk closed as it clicked, Ji-ji was already in his car-seat & buckled in which left you with nothing else to do except getting home. You turned around to lightly kiss Nanami as his moisturized hand rested aside your lower back once more, deepening the kiss that was originally supposed to be light & short, which turned into long and passionate.
pt #2 ,, summary ー
y/n mysteriously finds herself getting sick, in to which nanami takes care of her, trying to slowly aid her back to being her normal healthy self.
--------------> read here !! -- half of what i planned for new years special 📰 '
// now as always, reblogs, notes, etc are always appreciated ,, //

Hi
Could you do a imaging with Buck from 911. I love the opposite attracts idea. Like a secret girlfriend, because she isn’t a fan of being around people. She’s different from all the other girls that buck dated
Thank you
Hope you have a good day:)
A Good Different
You sat on the couch in your baggy sweat pants and oversized shirt. You watched as your boyfriend ran around the house getting ready.
He wasn’t the type of guy you were used to but he made you feel so special and loved. And you knew for a fact you weren’t the type of girl he had been with before. But none of that mattered, you loved each other and nothing could change that.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come?” Buck asked sitting down in front of you on the couch facing you.
“No Buck, you know it’s not my thing, you go have fun” I said, urging him to go.
“Are you sure? I don’t have to go” he replied.
“Evan, baby, look at me, I want you to go have fun, I know how much you love going to hang out with the 118. Go have fun, beside I have a new crime documentary I want to watch” you said, switching the channel to your show.
“Fine, I’ll miss you” he leaned over to kiss you.
“I love you” he said
“I love you too” you sighed, “give me 10 minutes and I’ll be dressed”
You aren’t the type to hang with a bunch of people but if it made Buck happy then you would push your fears away.
10 minutes later you came out in ripped jeans and a faded black concert tee. You threw on your combat boots and grabbed your bag.
“Damn your beautiful” Buck whispered grabbing you in a kiss, “maybe we should stay home”
He chuckled as he kissed you passionately. You smiled under his kisses. When the two of you finally separated you headed for the door.
You applied your makeup in the car adding your dark lipstick to top it off. As Buck pulled into the drive way you started to get nervous. Looking over at your Buck noticed your demeanor.
“Hey you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to, we can go home” he said grabbing your hand.
You gave his a squeeze and shook your head no.
“No, let’s stay, I want to do this for you. These people mean the world to you. And because of that they mean the world to me, it’s time I finally met them” you reply.
Buck gets out and runs to open your door. He leads you to the front door. Buck opens it and goes in.
“Hey everybody we’re here!” He yells
“Finally!”
“About damn time!”
You hear every yell from the main area. As you follow Buck down the stairs of the house, you think he said it belonged to his captain and his wife. Everyone stops and looks at you.
“Woah! Buck who is this?” A dark haired man smiles.
“Chimney!” A woman smacks his arm. You recognize her as Buck’s sister.
“Sorry about him, I’m Maddie, Buck’s sister” Maddie said, coming over to you.
Buck could feel you get nervous. He squeezed your hand.
“Everyone this is Y/N, my girlfriend” he says. He leads you over to a chair. He then introduces everyone. You slowly start to feel at home. He was right the 118 does feel like a family.
