hello everyone i bring you a shiny new artwork of everyone’s fave foxy grandpa!!

i had some very vague ideas for what i wanted to do at first but i think once i decided on a certain color scheme there was a bit more direction. his hanfu is based on the green hanfu in this post, except without the dragon embroidery because i wanted to keep my sanity <3 this specific style of hanfu is worn by older people, and i think it fits longwei, considering that he is pretty old, even by nation standards. and he really does not help his case in that regard either!

the scar on his neck was given to him by kiku / @kyokkou in 1937 and the one on his cheek was his earliest battle scar, probably during the three kingdoms period. i feel like he wears glasses, specifically ones in the style depicted in the picture, more often that not nowadays. mostly to read, but also he can just see so much clearer with them on 🌞 and there’s no real significance to the gun in his hand, i just thought it would look cool. just pretend it’s symbolic to how china invented gunpowder or smth 🌚

Let it be known that none of them actually expected the idiots’ of the week’s ritual to work. The summoning hadn’t worked for literal centuries- everyone knew it had been sealed away, presumably forever!

(Of course they had no way to know that in the Infinite Realms actually used the term forever as a measurement of time, what with how time itself wasn’t particularly linear within. And to beings that could hypothetically live for eternity? Forever was a nice vacation time really) 

So maybe they hadn’t been exactly focused on stopping the ritual as much as they could of been, and by the time they realized it was working, well, it’d been a bit too late then. So yes, mistakes had perhaps in fact, been made. 

First had come the chill, the cold of the ground as your body was lowered down, the cold of your blood dripping from your living corpse. Then came the shadows, the darkness creeping along their vision as their soul slipped from their body. Followed by boiling heat, flames scorching through their flesh and tearing from their chests like a blade piercing their hearts. 

The form that emerged was massive, a cloak dripping crimson fluttering in the wind of an unseen battlefield, verdant flames licking at the air and causing the surrounding shadows to writhe. A dark growl echoed through the building, the stone below them shaking while deathly green eyes glowered down at the living with utter contempt.

No but @korruptbrekker reached out to me and asked if I was interested in doing a collab (go check out their piece here, I implore you), and you know I could not say no to such a wonderful artist asking lil ol me to do something fun like this. We ended up doing a swap @laugaheim and I came up with ages ago that I so sussinctly refer to as a moodboard-sketch-lineart-render swap. Rolls right off the tongue, right? Nah but it's exactly what it says. Make moodboards, swap and sketch from the other's, swap again and line the other's sketch, and then swap once again and finish the piece you sketched.

Very big thanks to Brekker for reaching out! This was so fun, I hope we can do something together again in the future!

With the DC crossover announced and the images released, I figured that since most of the sonic cast are technically teens(??) it would be cool to see them as the teen heroes, too!! Here's Sonic as Impulse, Knuckles as Superboy, Amy as Wonder Girl, Tails as Robin, and Shadow as the blue Black Beetle!

Bonus shadow with black doom bc i loved how the doodle turned out :) he's essentially the stand-in for the scarab Khaji Da

I do love shadow as batman, but i figured blue beetle was a good fit, what with the alien stuff and his new doom powers in the upcoming game that give him wings and transformation abilities

Toshinori and Inko finding out their pregnant a year into marriage and just sitting staring at the test like...oh. This was not exactly in the plan...nor did they even think it was possible??

They tell Izuku first of course and when they do he actually thinks they're kidding! Haha! That's actually...pretty funny, guys...uhhh...why do you both look so serious.......oh, oh shit. OH. All Might and Mom are having a kid? He's going to be a brother? In his twenties??? HUH?

Cut to nine months later and Izuku's holding his little sister, Toshinori beside him, arm around his shoulder, as Inko watches on with love and pride, because their family feels even more complete than it was before.

unhinged observation - we all know their colours don't match the traditional ones, but I've never noticed before that on the portraits they put Jeff in red and Virgil in green, but then they swap them over when we actually see them. In fact, //pause while Len goes to look// when they're in TB3, they're all wearing red - like all the space-rated suits, specifically are red. //Goes to check again// and Gordon and Virg are in green with TB2 in the opening rescue to match Jeff as well.

Does that mean, in 2004 verse, they wear whichever colour matches the 'bird they're currently flying because other than them needing 5 suits each... that's pretty cool can't lie good for them

ignoring the fact they look the same, I can be like ??? well yellow must be wetsuits, red is space rated?? Green is ?? tougher maybe, blue is for however many G's TB1 hits a body with when they're going crazy speeds, orange is a spacesuit for living in space etc etc

do you ever think about how alicent’s children feel about her having an obvious soft spot for rhaenyra? they weren’t around to witness alicent and rhaenyra’s relationship before alicent was forced to marry viserys and then forced into motherhood. they don’t have any fond memories with rhaenyra and the lasting impression they have of her is probably when she called for aemond to be “sharply questioned”. it got me thinking about the moment in alicent’s toast where she says rhaenyra would make a fine queen..i really wonder what was going on in aemond’s head in particular when he heard her say that. the idea that the lives of his family members as well as his own would be in danger if rhaenyra were to take the throne was always looming over his head since he was a child..he made training a focal part of his life for when the moment would come so he’d be able to defend and protect them, yet he heard his mother speak those words and mean them

first art post of the new year!!! granted, i don't share my art here that much anyway, but– shhh.

hehehehhhooo,, here's something i've been working on for 'bout a month,, albeit not consecutively– took a few,, very very long breaks in between working on this,, but i managed to finish it in the end! am i satisfied with it? .......ehhhh? not completely, but if this took any longer, it might not have seen the light of day, so like. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

anyway,, made a little poster for my favorite fic, tommyinnit's services for villains, vigilantes, and various other vagabonds, by @scorpionoesit!!! it's really really good,,, and i've always wanted to make more art for it,, so i decided– poster! at least,, that's what it's mean to resemble,,, dkdmkdmdkd.

i will freely admit,, i'm... not the biggest fan of the fan-made logo i tried to design for it,, feels a bit boring, and could definitely have used a bit more pizazz, something to make feel more like the fic itself(what does that mean? you figure that out),,,, but– again, steam was running low,, dkdnksjs. graphic design is my passion. i do also have other complaints, but i'm afraid i already punched my one-use self-critique card,, oh well,,, dkdnkxjdkd.

regardless,, even with the flaws only i can really see,, this still turned out pretty okay!! hope you enjoy it, mx. scorpio and mx. alibi!!! and i hope everyone else has a wonderful new year!!!!

lemme know if this is supported/debunked anywhere, but i always thought it interesting how significant it was meant to be that jim got hal a framed photo of him and their dad. yes ofc martin’s death makes it significant, but did hal not have any other photos of him? the line “something i wish i could’ve given you a long time ago” gives a weight to the gift like i’m missing smth, like smth could’ve changed if he had. and the fact that jim was so excited to give it to hal all those years ago that he stayed up until midnight makes it feel even more significant, secretive even

what i’m saying is that i headcanon their mom took down all the photos of their dad bc she hated having the reminder. that’s why it’s especially painful for her seeing hal follows in martin’s footsteps, he’s the spitting image of his father. without him there, even in spirit thru framed photos, it puts a lot of pressure onto hal. i can see this being a part of her coddling and overprotectiveness, how she wants to hold onto what she has left. and i can also see how her later disowning him can reflect putting the photos away, how it seems almost contradictory that she wants to protect him so she tells him to never come back. it’s that duality of grief; she loves him so much that she can’t bear to look
