SPOILERS for episode 8 of the girls on the bus but i'm feeling very booboo the fool at the moment because i really should've caught on to the fact that Hot White Guy™'s whole "nice guy" schtick was somewhat of an act before that ending. it just never crossed my mind that he wasn't being completely genuine because i had my scott foley blinders on. damn that man and the power his vague hotness and charisma have over me.

anyway, for now, i'm still choosing to believe that his conversations with sadie aren't performative. i think there's a real connection there, even if they don't take it very far this season.

regardless, though, it'll be really interesting to see sadie's reaction if and when she finds out about any of this. i mean, she already got overly, personally invested in one political candidate (felicity walker) and it ended up breaking her heart, in a way, when walker wasn't who sadie thought she was (at least on a personal level) so for that to happen to her again? oof.

former forester who spent a lot of time in the wilderness and national parks. has a degree in ecology and forestry. was the first person in his family to ever graduate high school, let alone get a degree.

grew up hunting with his father before he lost himself in his drinks. in the aftermath of his father's death, and with his mother having disappeared to the east coast in her grief, ryan took custody of his much-younger sister, hayden. the added responbility and implosion of their family weighed heavily on ryan but he did his best to provide for hayden.

was engaged a year prior to the outbreak but discovered his fiance had been cheating on him with his best friend, and cut ties with them both. he still has the rings they'd picked out for the wedding.

is riddled with trust issues, a bad temper, and a deep resignation with his lot in life. these only get worse after the world goes to hell. also would smoke almost a pack a day if he had access to that many cigarettes.

is skilled with a gun, particularly long range rifles, as well as axes.

he and hayden both survive the initial outbreak, but i think they get separated at some point. stuck in his grief and anger and survivors guilt, ryan loses all faith in humanity and eventually falls in with a marauder group. given his skills, he becomes their sniper, and works with the group leader to orchestrate ambushes and set up new camps as they move around oregon.

won’t hesitate do what it takes to survive in the shit, including killing people and freaks alike, even if it does weigh on his conscience. there are some lines he still won’t cross though.

I may be overreacting, but what emma said was a low blow. Evan acknowledged he was not well during Cult, saying he was neglectful of his family and fiancee, so he took accountability.

Mind you, they were in a relationship for another year and a half after that. Evan went to Australia to shoot I am woman and then soon after was the break up announcement with the info that emma was dating garrett. I know how celeb PR statements are. Emma 100% cheated on evan w garrett. There is no doubt in my mind. He was away. It happens. She also cheated on him with hayden during Cult. So she cheated during his lowest moments and instead of taking any accountability, now decides to put all the blame on him.

The whole thing reminds me of how taylor swift painted her break up with Joe alwyn, basically justifying her cheating with matty healy because joe was boring and depressed. No accountability, nothing. It's always somebody else's fault. And I say this as someone who likes taylor. Emma, however..... she can rot.

When I started shipping them: i don't remember exactly what made me think of them together!! it was probably around a year or so ago (i think it was around when i made that first kirisaac set?) but i mostly committed to it out of stubbornness because it was such lowhanging fruit!! they're sweet girl and bad boy!! she's so short and he's so tall!! they are RIFE with tropes and i don't know why they're such a rarepair

My thoughts: like said above, they're truly just lowhanging fruit. and i also think they'd play really well off each other!! they're both kind of Mischievous, and i think kira would be even moreso with isaac encouraging her, and i think isaac would have a lot more fun with it with kira encouraging him! like i think isaac does a lot of hijinks out of like Revenge and a healthy outlet for anger, whereas kira would have more fun with it. i think they'd have a lot of fun together and be really very adorable

What makes me happy about them: i just know in my heart that isaac would think the fox stuff in s5 was hot. sorry. i know there's a lot to unpack here re:the abuse in his past and i know kira going Bonkers in Yonkers would not be the best and most healthy thing for that. but i also think he'd think her getting out of bed to wave a sword around and being on so much fire when he looks at her with his werewolf eyes and flattening half the players on the lacrosse field is really hot. this would be a problem in-text. it is just also true. and again i really just think they'd have so much fun in general i just can't picture them as a ship that isn't like lighthearted and cute and fun

What makes me sad about them: they never really got to interact!!! criminal!!!!

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: there's not a ton of fic about them i don't think? it's annoying to me when they're like the fifth background ship and i have to ctrl + f to find anything in the fic and they're mentioned. like. twice. but i too am guilty of overtagging so i cannot throw the first stone here etc etc

Things I look for in fanfic: just decent characterization? i'm not that picky!! just for the isaac/kira fic to actually read as Isaac and Kira to me is all i ask, but this obviously is subjective as well

My wishlist: at this point i guess my Dream is for them to be cast in something together so i can use the footage to lie more easily. ideally they'd kiss but i'll take what i can get

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: scott and allison! either for either of them<3

My happily ever after for them: oh hmmm i think it would be fun if isaac came back for The War (read: he came back because scott needed help) and then kira came back from Underground and they could kind of bond over feeling like... displaced? it's weird to do so much growing up and come back to a place that's exactly the same and i think it would be fun for them to find comfort in each other. is this a happy ending does that count

How I feel about this character: i love her and i think she's so fun!! i really respect and enjoy that the teen wolf girlies will get obsessed with any background character but it hurts me that violet was never one of them!! teen girl assassin is so fun!!!

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: garrett/violet obv, also theo/violet for my Kids Raised to Kill should kiss agenda, and also tracy/violet for my mean girls should get to kiss agenda, hayden/violet because i think after garrett dies (i'm sorry to garrett but he always dies in my head) she would really be interested mostly in people she could replicate that type of dynamic with and she would project on hayden and trick herself into developing real feelings, also similar thoughts for lori/violet.... i can go all day. i love to lie about violet

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: still theo/violet, tracy/violet, braeden/violet is a fun one too i think it'd be fun for braeden to like Mentor her in Conscience Having while also Killing Sometimes, i think gabe/nolan/violet could be fun (similar to the tracy agenda, this would be an au where violet infiltrates the hunters as a favor to the mccall pack who she owes a life debt from s4, and becomes reluctantly fond), and also liam/mason/violet is just really funny to think about. given. they were friends!

My unpopular opinion about this character: SHE'S FUN! WE SHOULD LIE ABOUT HER MORE AS A COLLECTIVE!

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: she should've become a nagual after kate killed her for fun

Favorite friendship for this character: theo/violet in my Head, liam/mason/violet in canon cause they're her only friends in canon and also sincerely it's just so funny to think about

just finished the finale...damn, i have to put on my clown suit because i really thought, underneath all his immoral scheming, sadie and hayden (better known as Hot White Guy™) had something genuine. IMO it would've been more fun (for the show and for me lol) to build that romantic tension a little more before the reveal and really sell his dirty politics as just as much of a betrayal to sadie, personally, as it is to the american people that voted for him.

choosing, instead, to make him more of a straight up villain with no emotional ties (albeit a villain who's convinced himself that everything he's doing is for The Greater Good, as most villains do) is just...so much less interesting to me. i really think they made a mistake not leaning into the chemistry between sadie/HWG (side note: just realized his actual name and his nickname have the same initials — Hayden Wells Garrett / Hot White Guy — props to the writers for that) and not making it more of a complex "did he ever really have feelings for me or was I just another political puppet for him to manipulate?" dynamic, one where the viewer can pick a side. one that could be explored in a potential future season.

as is, he was 100% playing her, she knows it and has no qualms about hating him immediately for it. which feels, to me, like lame writing and a missed opportunity to tell a juicer story...then again, maybe that's less the show's fault than it is mine. the story is about the women, not him. it's about their professional lives and their beliefs and their friendships with each other. maybe i should never have expected there to be this intriguing romantic (sub)plot or some kind of malcolm vs. HWG love triangle with sadie at the center. that's on me.

Mafia changeling detests Theo and his wannabe crime leader swagger. He's approached him for "advice" but he played dumb. He hates Garrett even more. Garrett is freaked out his shadow can never sneak up on him, his instincts are borderline supernatural. Violet is freaked out he landed solid strikes (plural!) on her. Tracy tried planting feathers on him but he outmaneuvered her + slipped "nice try" post-its on her. Glared right at invisible Corey and had him trembling.

Well there are rumors that she was cheating on Evan with Garrett Hedlund while Evan was filming I am Woman. So that was very late 2018 and early 2019. There are also rumors that Evan really wanted Emma to go to rehab and basically get herself together but she wouldn’t do it. Which allegedly pushed her to be with Garrett more because he was also on a bender. I think it was a culmination of things in their relationship that caused it to end once and for all. I remember when that last break up was announced it was really emphasized that it was over for good in a way that I felt like it hadn’t before. And then Emma was seen publicly with Garrett a few weeks after the break up announcement and months later Evan went public with Halsey which nailed it in the coffin for me that they were never getting back together tbh.

emma ended up with what she deserved.
