Sleep Talking

So I had this idea of Helsknight sleep talking this poem @silverskye13 posted for the April 1st Boopening

I took the Halloween Boopening as a reason to finally commit and make the comic :3 hopefully it’s as amusing to others as it is to myself haha

Back in the early 2000s, the Wicked OBC soundtrack came out, and I devoured it. Wicked immediately became part of my personality. I remember sitting in pre-algebra, reading and re-reading the McGuire book, listening to the soundtrack so often that even now, several decades later, I can breathe in time with the music. And then, as a birthday gift, my family took me to see the touring production. I was so excited. I was so jazzed. It was the fulfillment of every Broadway-loving Midwestern teen's dreams, to finally---finally---see the musical she has been pining for since she grabbed the soundtrack off the livejournal swap.

............shortly thereafter, I walked out of that production with my love of Wicked stone dead.

At the time, I chalked it up to the difference between imagination (no budget/labor/time constraints; physics is optional) and reality (physics exist; so does accounting). However, it's now been almost 20 years, they can do some real nifty stuff with CGI, so I can say with confidence...the version I came up with in my bedroom as a bored teen remains better.

i dreamt that my boyfriend cheated on me

me: i dreamt that i killed a man with my bare hands and watched the light fade from his eyes and with his final breath i awoke with a chill on the back of my neck and i swear i could still feel his blood on my hands

seems like everyone's playing some sort of game in the mirror world

had a dream last night this blog got hacked and whoever it was kept making posts apologizing for all sorts of drama on salt blogs, implying I did All the drama. people got SO mad at me that I had to move to alabama and hide in a rural country farm. when I finally checked back on this blog a while later, it had turned into an account that drew dragons as fish to atone for my crimes (while still claiming they were me)

Okay, hear me out. This whump scenario came to me in a dream, and I don't even want to know what that means about my mental state/ j

The setting can be fictional or nonfictional (but it works best in nonfictional historical settings or fantasy medieval etc)

Okay, so the Whumpee is shot with an arrow (in my case, he was doing the "jump in front of the bullet" and "use your body as a shield" tropes) which is coated in poison. The arrowhead gets stuck inside, and it needs to be removed via surgery (the important part is that they need to open up the wound or something). The caveat, however, is that the arrow is covered with anticoagulant poison, so every time the Caretaker tries to untie the bandages or do anything to take out the arrowhead, they risk killing the Whumpee through severe blood loss. If they do not take out the arrowhead, the wound will most likely get infected and kill the Whumpee that way.

Que the team arguing with each other, as the Whumpee lays on the bed with bloodied bandages, about what to do. Maybe they have to go on a race against time to get the herbs needed to flush out the poison. Maybe they are far away from any civilization, and the Caretaker has no means of treating the Whumpee, so they hopelessly watch as they bleed to death (not enough comfort for me, but hey, "Major character death" enjoyers have your crumbs/ affectionate). Maybe the Caretaker has to leave the arrowhead in and hope for the best. Maybe the Caretaker has to perform the surgery as fast as possible and pray that the Whumpee doesn't due from blood loss before (or after) they are finished.

It also opens up to so much potential with respect to medicine and poison interaction. Maybe the painkillers might have an adverse effect if combined with this specific poison, so the Whumpee has to endure the pain of surgery as the Caretaker continuously apologizes for having to hurt them.

Also, also, delirium and high fever. Maybe from the arrowhead, the poison, or the stress from thr wound/medical procedures the Whumpee is wracked with high fever and everything delicious that comed with that (I will never get tired of having a delirius and sick character 👁👄👁).

One little known fact about Sherry is that she has a ridiculously high spice tolerance. The Sinners find this out on accident when dining out at a restaurant of Hong Lu's choice, where he tells them about a certain spicy mustard served there that they can dip their food in.

Most of the Sinners are incapable of handling the sting but Sherry just keeps eating the mustard. She's in tears and has to keep scrunching up her face, but she absolutely loves the burning sensation whenever she takes a bite. Hong Lu, of course, is very happy she likes it, and Ryōshū is mildly impressed she can handle it, but the other Sinners are a bit terrified of just how much spice Sherry can handle.

Just saw the weirdest most over-stimulating production of marriage of figaro…. I feel like the opera, the music, got lost in the set and costumes and props and background cast who were just kind of there? Doing weird things?
