i’m so mad there’s not really such thing as a playplace for grownups. all little kids have to do is get somebody to take them to a mcdonald’s or a park like 15 minutes from their house and boom it’s playground paradise, meanwhile if you’re a 25 year old kid like me i’m expected to be happy with forking out the cashola to go to a whole theme park or pay for a rock climbing gym subscription like whee how fun. a workout routine and an empty wallet. and it’s NOT the same thing as going to the park when it’s nice and quiet out and swinging on the swings or playing hide and seek in the restaurant play area after a delicious cheap burger dinner with the caramel apple slices.

i know it’s probably not in the cards for me but if i ever get the money for it i want a big house with a playground in the backyard and an indoor playroom inside too and i’ll invite all my friends over to play with me :)

“Sweetpea, you good down there?”

“Mmhm!”

“We’re almost there. I can see Thousand Sunny; are you having fun?”

“Yeah! Daddies Striker is the best!” The young child proclaims, playing with the passing waves as the striker moves along

“I’m glad to hear that.”

As they approach the Sunny, he glances down at them

“Come here, sweetpea. Im going to put you in my back so I can jump into the sunny, plus you can give Uncle Luffy a scare.”

“Okay!” They said, climbing into him and hugging his neck to not fall down

“Hey, daddy, what’s uncle Luffy like?”

“Uncle Luffy? He’s… He’s a handful.” He laughs

“He’s reckless, but without him, I wouldn’t have been able to come back to you.”

“He’s very carefree. You’ll love him for sure; you never have a boring moment with him around, especially with that crew of his.”

“If he saved Daddy, then I like him!”

“I know you will love him.”

As they arrive at the Sunny, he looks at them behind him

“Hold on tight, alright?”

They nod, giggling when he jumps up easily, reaching Sunny’s railings and landing in his usual low crouch

“Ace!” Luffy cheers as he sees his brother make his entrance

“Hey Luffy, I have someone you need you need to meet,” he says

“Reader giggles as they pop out from behind their dad, still holding on tightly

“Boo!”

The sudden appearance of the young child startles Luffy.

“Hah? Who’s that?”

“This is my kid.” He grins

“This is your nibling. You're an Uncle now Luffy!” he laughs

Luffy’s face lights up when he hears the words “kid” and “nibling.”

“No way!” Luffy shouts out in excitement as he jumps up and runs over, scooping the little kid up in a hug and spinning them

“How old are you?”

“Umm…im this many!” They exclaimed, showing them three roughly raised fingers

Luffy has to take a second to look at the kid’s hands and count her fingers before smiling at them.

“You’re three!”

“Ace, how come im only meeting them now?”

Ace gives him a tight smile.

“Well last time we saw each other was hardly the right time to catch up, between almost getting executed, the war, and us almost, you know….and after that, we both separated and went our own ways for two years, but I see you’ve become stronger haven’t you Luffy?”

“Shishishi, yeah, I have been getting stronger; I trained with Rayleigh for two years!”

Luffy sets Reader down and puts his arms up, posing in a fighting stance.

“I can even use Haki now! I could beat you now!”

He scoffs

“Yeah, right; you’re not the only one who trained for all that time.” He looks at his brother, smiling

“Im proud of you, Luffy.”

The Reader looks between the two brothers, confused as to what exactly they are talking about but still wanting to be a part of it

“Im proud of you, Uncle Luffy!”

Luffy turns his attention to Reader and kneels down to get on their level

“You wanna see something cool, Reader?”

“Yeah!”

Luffy raises his right arm up and takes a moment to focus. He then moves it back and forth slowly, allowing the Armament Haki to activate and cover his arm.

“Look at that!” Luffy cheers

Reader awes, poking at Luffy’s now steel-hard arm

“Daddy, it’s just like Uncle Jozu’s!”

They turn back to Luffy

“Uncle Luffy is so cool!”

Luffy smiles at Reader and lets out a laugh.

“Thank you, Reader, im happy you think so!”

“You wanna see more cool stuff, Reader?”

They nod their head vigorously in excitement.

Luffy stands up and, picks Reader up, and puts her on his shoulders, smiling up at them.

“Hold on tight.”

They give another squeal as Luffy suddenly stretches his arms, slingshotting the both of them across the ship

“Oi Luffy, be careful with them!”

“I will!” he hollers back

He smiles as he watches the two of them from the railing

“Whee!” Luffy cheers as he carries Reader around.

He stretches and throws himself from one part of the ship to another, carrying Reader as he goes.

“Ready for another?” Luffy asks as he gets ready to make a jump.

“Yeah!”

Luffy stretches out his arms and slingshots off again, this time a bit further, as he aims right back where he started.

“Shishishi!” He laughs as he carries Reader with him.

They giggle as they land quickly, running back to their dad and hugging his legs

“Daddy! I love Uncle Luffy, he’s really funny! He took me flying, did you see?!”

“I saw, and I also saw you laughing like a goofball,” He says, smiling and boosting them up and leaning them against his hip to hold them.

“Shishishishi! I’m glad you think so!” Luffy laughs.

“Hey Ace, come on, you have to meet the rest of my crew! Some people have joined since the last time you visited; we even got a singing skeleton, Shishishi.”

“A singing skeleton? You’ve always been a magnet for all types of people, Luffy.” He chuckles

“I wanna see a skeleton!” The small child cheers

“You will meet everyone soon enough, sweetpea.” He puts them on his shoulder again and smiles

“Say Luffy, you have some free time after this? What do you say we visit our dear old brother? He has yet to meet their nibling as well,” they ask, grinning

“Shishishi, guess we have a new destination!

Yeah thats right, no one is dying on my watch! No plot is sinking either! No one is taking our golden boy!

You both get competitive when it comes to games so every time you beat him at Mario Kart, you love to brag about it. That usually ends in him holding you and tickling you and eventually you both kissing and snuggling.

Oscar, being an introvert, would love to spend a cozy and private night in with you. He would love to snuggle up in a blanket with you and watch one of your favorite movies together. Some drinks and takeout food would complete the night and you two would stay cozy together until you inevitably fall asleep holding each other in the early hours in the morning.

Max Verstappen

Max loves to spoil you and take you shopping, even though you insist that you can buy things yourself. He loves to see your excitement when you enter your favorite stores and just wants to make his girl happy by treating her to something he knows she will love. At the end of the day, you treat Max to a fashion show of all the clothes you picked out and Max can’t keep his eyes off his beautiful girlfriend and how radiant you look.

Charles Leclerc

Nothing says Charles like a date on his boat in Monaco. He takes such pride in his country and would want to show you the most beautiful views of the city from the perfect vantage point of the sea. He would make sure every detail of your boating day was planned and perfect. You would stay together on the sea until the sun went down and you could stargaze while laying on the boat’s deck.

Carlos Sainz

Carlos likes the focus to be on you during dates, as it is not often you two get to spend a lot of time together. He prefers to keep dates simple so he can keep his attention on you and really connect with each other. A coffee shop date would be a perfect time for you and Carlos to really connect and share your love for each other. It would be super cute and you would beg Carlos to come back to the shop again the next day.

Lewis Hamilton

He would want nothing but the best for the two of you and would splurge to get you both a private table at a fancy vegan restaurant in the city. You would have great and meaningful conversations over delicious food and drinks. Lewis would make it a night to remember and you would have a romantic walk around the city at night after you had finished your meal.

Daniel Ricciardo

Danny is a very adventurous person and always loves taking you to new and exciting places. You would go on a hike date together to spend some quality time in nature. Daniel and you would laugh and have fun making your way down the trail and would enjoy each other’s company to the fullest. At the end, a scenic sunset picnic would finish off the night and you and Daniel would have memories for life.

Yuki Tsunoda

Yuki is as passionate about food as he is about spending time with you. He would take you on a tour of his favorite restaurants around the city and show you where to find all of the best sushi. You would stay out together long into the night, savoring each other as well as the flavors. Finally, Yuki would take you to the top of one of the buildings with the best views and you would share a romantic moment high above the rest of the city.

Alex Albon

There is nothing you and Alex like more than spending a day together at the beach. There would of course be moments spent together on the shore, sipping drinks or spent watching the sunset at the end of the day. The most fun, however, would be swimming in the water together, having splash fights and being goofy together in the sea.

Logan Sargeant

You and Logan had been reminiscing about going to the fair as a child, so how perfect would it be to take a trip together? Logan and you spent time together on the Ferris Wheel along with the Tilt a Whirl, laughing when you were dizzy getting off of the ride. The night would finish with a funnel cake and both of you trying your best to win one of the giant stuffed animals from a game that both of you were pretty sure was rigged against you.

WAAH TY i got so excited to think about all this (and im very excited to say merch is COMING. should i post abt it i made some promos awhile ago and have been sitting on them since i dont have a solid timeline yet)

i first watched castle of cagliostro and then bits of part one years ago, so my first lupin was green jacket lupin! i didn't know about part 4+ at the time so i was like "yep that was a cute old show" and didnt dig much deeper until recently! i've been watching a lot of the old movies and the newer parts and im losing my mind over how cute and fun it all is. lupin is so my type its annoying

ON TO THE PEN ASSIGNMENTS!!! (TY FOR ASKING IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY TO DO THESE) long post incomingggg

i'm giving lupin an aurora optima - it comes in a lotta colours (there's even a limited edition pink one) and is classy/high quality/italian made/etc. feel like that'd suit his aesthetics.

bonus i'm also giving him monteverde colour changing inks so he can play silly lil tricks >:)

jigen gets this Kaweco sport piston filler - it's sleek and stylish and solid metal and the little clear ink viewing segment sorta puts me in mind of his usual outfit colour palettes.

im assigning goemon a calligraphy brush. its just what he is thats that

fujiko gets the bungubox princess kaguya fountain pen - it is pretty and feminine and expensive, soooo fujikocore

zenigata i feel would have/be something so so practical. pilot metropolitan, or some other good japanese pen brand, i think. plus they come in a lot of colours so i bet he accidentally matches lupin sometimes just on instinct.

whee it's been awhile since i did a blorbo pen headcanon round!!! that was fun!!!! yippee!!

So, as it turned out, Maria had made herself a haphazard stay-at-home mom. That wasn’t something she had ever aspired to. Taking care of children was honorable work, no doubt, but she never imagined it could be her full-time reality. To suit their travels, they couldn’t put Johanna in preschool, and it wouldn’t make sense for Maria to apply for steady work anywhere, either.

“Don’t worry about it,” Jordan said, “You just focus on JoJo.”

So, homeschooling then? Maria launched into this lifestyle with wild abandon, like she’d launched into everything else she’d ever done in her life. Whee! Here we go!

Maybe she saw now why her parents questioned all of her decision-making.

Homeschooling a preschooler was easy enough, but next year, when Johanna was old enough for kindergarten, there would be regulations, paperwork, and exams. Perhaps she should read some books about it. For now, it seemed good enough to make sure she could ride a bike.

Jordan left for the university each morning to plumb toilets that had no doubt seen some terrifying things, and Maria and Johanna had these days to themselves. They loaded up their packs with snacks and water bottles and rode into town. Sierra Nova wasn’t a sprawling metropolis, but there was enough to do here. Museums and libraries, to start. There was the beach, the farmer’s market, parks and playgrounds. When Jordan’s contract was complete, he also wanted to take them to the adventure park.

Today, they found an arts fair at the community center. Creative at heart, Maria swooned over all the artists selling their crafts and artwork. She daydreamed about whether this was also something she could do with herself someday. Someday when JoJo didn’t require so much of her attention, which was actually most hours of the day, so maybe it wasn’t something she could do with herself. But it was fun enough to dream about.

At the back of the room, Maria found a stand peddling musical instruments. She could never resist a finely crafted instrument, and she could play a note or two on most anything after years of musical education. She strummed a couple guitars. She picked up a flute and turned it in her hands. Violin was the instrument she’d trained on for most of her life, but she also had a great love for the cello. It had been so long since she held one.

“Oh, JoJo, look at this one!”

“Wow,” Johanna said, “It’s so big!”

Somewhere in Wisconsin, Lou was sobbing over the missed opportunity to say, “Your mama loves having a big instrument between her legs.”

Oh, Maria missed her sister dearly.

She would channel that longing into a deep and mournful song, drawing the bow slowly, feeling the sound deep in her chest. Johanna only stood in awe for about three seconds before she went to the sales table to find an instrument of her own to play. With her eyes gleaming and hands rabid, the attendant quickly handed her a simple tambourine instead of the beautifully crafted wooden flute.

A wise choice, Maria thought.

The two of them made a ragtag little duet. Maria tried to get her wild child to follow the steady pace of her tapping foot. Johanna had little rhythm, but she was adorable, swirling and dancing and chiming the tambourine above her head.

And then the funniest thing happened—someone tossed a ten-dollar bill at their feet.

Oh, god, he probably thought she was begging. A homeless single mother, down on her luck, using her adorable child for pity tips.

“Wait, no,” Maria called out, but the man didn’t hear her and carried on. She felt bad for taking the money under that assumption, but at the same time, she was technically unemployed. And sort of homeless? Maybe his assessment wasn’t too far off the truth.

Maria nodded and JoJo picked up the money.

“Not bad at all,” the seller said as Maria returned the cello to its stand and the crowds dispersed. “You sure you don’t want to buy it?”

“Thank you, but I don’t think we have the room for something like that. We’ll take the tambourine, though.”

Well, Jordan said they didn’t need any more pillows in the camper, but he never said anything about musical instruments.

i've put a lot of thought into what esper would be like as a companion and a big part of that is how they behave when romanced. broadly speaking, they react to affection with confusion and a little bit of flattered shyness -- they may be sharp and scary, but they fluster easily under sincere gentle attention, since they're a lot more comfortable with mindgames and violence and punishment. so if you're a fan of skittish and aggressive previously-abused shelter animals that turn into cuddlebugs with patience and love (with a side order of kink) esper is the romance for you.

i have a scene in mind that could be either a romance or a friendship scene, in the same vein as gale's magic lesson, where you walk up on them tuning and playing their lyre in the way they like to do when they make camp for the night. you sit next to them and listen, ask a few questions about what they're doing, and they invite you to join them. you can play to a normal jam session or a more romantic duet, and if you don't pass the skill check, they make you stop because you're ruining the vibe, but invite you to stay anyway because they do like your company. if you pass the skill check they tell you that music is one of the few things they feel they remember, and that it feels nostalgic to get to play with someone again. if you flirt with them, they flirt back, but shy away from physical contact and apologize.

miscellaneous conversations with a romanced esper include flirtatious banter and eventually an honest conversation about their urges and why they're scared of touch. they admit after high enough approval that they don't have full control of their homicidal urges (and they admit to killing alfira here if they did, so you can also banish them from the party, whee) and they don't know why. but if you're in a romance they really do want to touch you. you can kiss them, along with a promise that you're not afraid of them. this is the point where the romance actually Begins. esper is a little nervous, but happy that nothing bad happened. they do promise to do everything they can to keep you safe.

act 2 contains the scene where you tie them up regardless of whether you're romancing esper. if they haven't already admitted to it, this is where they admit to killing alfira before getting you to tie them up, but the way i see it, if you're romancing them, by now your approval is high enough that they've already told you. HOWEVER. before this scene happens in a romance you can probably also have had a sex scene where you tie them up so they don't lose control, in which case they will make a self-effacing joke about how it's not as fun as last time. esper also refuses to be untied for a while after the durge episode is over. they explain themself to the best degree they can manage with their fragmented memory, taking accountability and describing how it feels to be taken over by the urges, including that feeding them feels like their destiny, that it's what they're Supposed to be, that anything else is a distraction. you can either encourage them to pursue that destiny or promise to help them be rid of the urges forever, because you see them as more than just a monster.

after the act 2 sex/romance scene i briefly mentioned before, esper is more comfortable with the classic bg3 "can i kiss you" option and it makes them do a happy wiggle. if you break up with them they'll admit that they're a bit sad about it but not disappointed, and add that even if romance is off the table they've devoted their heart to your service and safety for as long as you'll have them. if not romanced, esper's energy as a companion is very Upstanding Professional Second In Command/Right Hand Arm Man.

act 3 diverges depending on whether you get esper to embrace or reject bhaal and the urges:

if you persuade them to embrace bhaal, they try to break up with you because they cite romance as a distraction, but if you then persuade them to stay with you, you can do some kind of nasty durge sex with them untied that involves a lot of biting and clawing and muttering about how your blood is singing to them. after it's over and you're still alive (but in the family guy death pose presumably) they note that you've been spared, and they interpret this as a promise that your reward for helping them see their true path to serve bhaal is to die last on the altar to bhaal before they sacrifice themself.

if you help them reject bhaal and they get brought back withers-style, there's another romance-or-friendship scene afterward where you find them on the rooftop of the elfsong. esper says they have more of their memories back, and that they remember coming up here to look out over the city to stalk their prey, but now they're here just watching people living their lives. here you play i spy, basically, telling stories about the people you see going about their business in baldur's gate. eventually they turn to you and say with full earnestness that they see their guiding light, the reason they can be up here breathing the free air. you can hug them here (or kiss them in a romance, but you can also hug them in a romance), which makes them just start laughing with relief.

and then after that scene in a romance they go up to you the next day with a gift. they've made you a necklace. they admit they're not much of a craftsperson, that their skills lie in music and murder and the body, that they've never been much of anything else. but they add that you've inspired them to try doing things they're bad at, to see what new kind of person they can be, because there's more to life than doing what you were Meant to do. the necklace doesn't do anything and it's kind of artless, and esper will not be even slightly offended if you point out that it's ugly or if you don't wear it, but you Can equip it if you want to.

a sidenote, but esper is a companion who's down for polyamoury. they'll say no thanks to joining in things like the brothel foursome until they don't have to worry about their urges anymore, and they'll joke about you being into dangerous partners if you hook up with The Bear (but will express that it's probably best if you limit your 'partners who transform into monsters when touched' to one at a time until they resolve the whole bhaal situation). they will judge you for hooking up with mizora but only because they find her tacky and you can do better, really.

small list of ffxiv play things that may not be easily obvious to people who aren’t umbilically tied to mmorpgs:

for everyone

- U have to keep your gcd rolling when the enemy is targettable You have to use your pee. At all times if your little cooldown isn’t running you will get gallstones/bladder stones/stones in balls/gout

- most other damage dealing skills and buffs are to be used on cooldown

- buffs, debuffs, and ogcds that have cooldowns that line up in some way are most likely going to be used together and you have to keep it that way. Like ohhh wow crazy that these two skills have 60s and 30s cooldowns respectively I wonder what that could mean

- there are like 4 buttons off the top of my head that don’t see regular usage so if you are not using all your skills in some way in every fight relatively consistently you are probably Died

- because of the weird ass servers your cast “locks in” before the cast bar actually finishes. you can slide around and cast in that small window. This is fun like whee

- follow all these things and you know every class in the game decently now

for tanks

- use reprisal and arms length liberally

- hitting cds > not hitting cds if you’re unsure when to use them

- generally easier to stagger defensive cds from longest to shortest

- you should be mitigating a little autos from time to time not just the busters. not always consistent but when a cast finishes the boss usually gets like 3-5 hits on you

- you should be using shields on teammates that are likely to perish soon

- you do the second highest dps so keep the ball rolling You are like Dps 2

for dps

- Girl hit the boss consistently and violently

- believe it or not your dps does matter immensely for taking the strain off a fight

- go hit the stone sky sea dummy for the current content and make sure you can kill it before entering pf. this is everyone actually but as Dps 1

- use feint/addle/your defensives. and second wind/bloodbath if you fuck up so a healer doesn’t have to waste extra stuff on you

for healers:

- use your cheap ogcd heals first

- if you bust a nut early overhealing you might not have heals up for later so do the minimum required healing at all times

- also it hurts your dps and you are Dps 3

- seriously attack
