Ubisoft is a company I used to love, but here’s my story of how they’ve fallen off… I’ve been a long-time fan of Ubisoft, and it hurts to see what’s happening to them lately—their stock is tanking, their last few games are getting bad reviews, and the sales reports are disappointing. It’s like they’ve stopped listening to the community, and it’s frustrating to watch. I want to share my personal experience with them because it opened my eyes to why they’re in this mess today.I live in Paris, and a few years ago, I was invited to Ubisoft’s headquarters to test a pre-release game. I’m not going to mention the game’s name, but it was supposed to be one of their big titles. They let us play for 4-hour sessions with breaks in between. I knew it wasn’t the final version, but I was shocked by how many things were missing. The missions felt nonsensical, and it just didn’t seem right for a company as huge as Ubisoft to put out something like this.I wanted to give honest feedback because I expected more. I commented on the graphics, the physics, the weird character select animation that didn’t feel cool at all, and other details I thought could be improved. But the assistant who was taking notes on our feedback actually laughed at some of my remarks. That stung.I’m not going to lie—I didn’t enjoy the game at all. I wrote down a lot of negative feedback because I wanted them to fix it and make the game better. But every time I shared my thoughts, I could see the assistant scratching his head, like he didn’t want to deal with what I was saying. It felt like they weren’t even going to report it to the higher-ups.During the break, I talked to a few other beta testers, and guess what? They also thought the game sucked! But when I asked why they were writing positive reviews, they said, “If we don’t give positive feedback, we won’t get invited again.” Seriously? That was the moment I knew something was really wrong.From that day, I felt like Ubisoft was on the decline. And now, 2 years later, here we are. They’re facing all these problems, and it seems like they’re just digging their own grave by refusing to listen to genuine criticism.I just don’t get why the devs or the higher-ups don’t care about fixing things or listening to the community. They’d rather keep going down this path, even if it means heading toward shutdown. Ubisoft has so much potential, but if they don’t start taking criticism seriously and working hard to deliver quality games, they’re going to lose everything.Does anyone else feel this way about Ubisoft lately?
