they both hold each other in the highest respect. william sees dakota as the prime (ha) example of what a hero should be. hes brave hes kind he does his best to protect everyone no matter what. hes all the things that william Isnt. BUT !!!! dakota also looks up to him !!! hes so smart hes good at problem solving hes so curious about everything and asking questions and poking his nose into things that nobody else would even consider. dakota knows hes not smart so he automatically looks to william whenever he needs a plan or someone to tell him what to do when he feels lost. they complement each other and they dont even !!!!! know it !!!!!!!

also regarding williams powers. fuck dude. season 1 he was so fucking scared of himself and ashamed of the things he could do . he hid every time he had to use wisp form !!! but dakota always thought it was so cool and was not QUIET about it. boy went fucking STAR EYES the first time he saw wisp form !!!!!! i will never stop thinking abt the first rolled for season 2 where charlie goes "if dakota hadnt left, he probably wouldve been able to convince william to keep using his powers and not to completely disregard their existence like he has been" and . considering what william is like in season 2... god this wouldve been a COMPLETELY different fucking campaign. theyre so. incredibly soulmates to me. theyre so important to each other theyd do anything for each other. i cant say too much more without accidentally giving you spoilers bc i WILL keep talking and not be able to shut up but GOD fuck ghostkicks enjoyers eat so well in the latter half of s2. moirails. 2 me !!!!!!!

the cafe is loosely based off of caffe strada @ uc berkeley LMAO. my parents used to take me there a lot as a little kid so that's the first cafe i think of when i imagine one. its like right on the streetside, basically on the sidewalk, so its very bustling and people are always walking by... probably a little disconcerting to see everyones summery bright smiles despite the bitter cold and snow

in long winter AU, the Ideal Reality starts before 1/1 so yeah they get to see the new years fireworks together (or something)

also intentional that they wear the same winter outfits in the whole comic although it Probably does not take place at the same time. in maruki's snowglobe, time seems frozen in place... but akira and goro are both acutely aware that the sands are running thru QUICK

goro's frustrated expression on page 3 is one also of disdain: "don't speak FOR me you fucking imbecile" type of expression.

goro, who's never lived a normal life and therefore doesn't know much abt "normalcy" nor really actively seeks it. this 3rd semester is basically purgatory for him and he doesn't care to try and go through the motions the way akira does. akira what do YOU know about the type of "normalcy" i deserve? how do YOU know if i "deserve" that?

im thinking that this is a naive akira who is mostly set on taking the deal because he feels hopeless... seeing all his friends with good happy lives while goro and himself are alive and miserable and shouldering the weight of the world during the horror of long winter......

oh but if he takes the deal they could all be good and alive and happy!!!.... and goro knows this. i feel like in any other universe (i.e. akira is 100% certain on not taking the deal and goro knows this) then goro would be happy and carefree to do these little indulgences for himself and akira's sake, to just enjoy the snowglobe world while it exists.

but this goro is discontent. he sees how akira is enjoying the snowglobe and knows maruki is depending on this. goro has to be the one to remind akira that none of this is his to keep........ in this fucked up world, routine is dangerous. becoming comfortable is dangerous. they cannot keep any of this.

on that note, goro says "i hate you" in a halfhearted sort of way (it's not true and akira knows that.) but he's trying to think of a way that he can dissuade akira from picking the wrong choice.....

and i think the thing is, goro thinks all of this, but he still falls into the rhythm of routine with akira anyway. in a way, goro feels hopeless too.

all of this is maruki's doing........ paralyzed by the inability to choose... whatever you do, you lose. goro needs to hold akira at arm's length so the stupid sentimental fool doesn't get too attached and falls into the wrong universe. akira needs to make a concentrated effort to detach himself from goro even though he wants the simplest thing in the world: just one more unremarkable day with him. it's lose-lose..........,

also i liked drawing the tentacles in the last pic the freaking blue lines on them were SO satisfying to draw

edit: also the last page: the blood flooding the panel….. the idea of the ideal world being built off of the blood and sweat and tears and bodies of the people who could have been. of those lost in the actualization, of those destroyed, of those stitched together and brought back to life. all just for a little false happiness. goro sees it but akira doesn’t, and it’s a grim sight.

“sure, although you know what’s bad? that i don’t have my chocolates right now.” he crossed his arm, fuming almost looking like a child who got their toys taken. “alright enough of your pouting. we’ll interogate him later. for now, i seem to have leftover ingredients, i’ll make you a new one.” you approached him, combing through the back of his hair as you planted a gentle kiss on his cheek. he replied by pulling you closer as he nuzzled into your neck. “it better be good,” he mumbled.

at the end you didn’t even make it to 5 minutes before scara followed you to the kitchen, insisting that he made it together too because he was ‘watching over you so you don’t mess up’ but personally i think he just felt bad because you need to make a new one and wanted to help you any way he can. that’s something he’d never admit even if there’s a gun pointing at his head, though.

As she entered the building, she was greeted by the sight of her boyfriend Jay and his boss Voight, both standing in the lobby, waiting for her

“YN thank you so much for coming” Voight says holding out his hand. Immediately YN takes his hand in hers, shaking his hand

“No problem, happy to help”

“Please follow us” Voight takes YN to the bullpen where the rest of their coworkers are standing around a bulletin board

“You all remember YN” Jay says first

“She’s joining us on this case” voight tells everyone who greets the girl

“So what do you know so far?” YN says getting straight into the case

“We know that Doms father owned a huge farm down state. When she died Dom inherited 30 million” Antonio hands over the case file to YN who takes a look at all the information at hand “he took out 10 million 2 days before he went missing” YN looks up at the team

“Did anyone actually see him though?”

“Taking the money out?” Jay asks

“At all”

“What are you saying?” Erin frowns

“I dont think he’s missing. Did you get the autopsy report on the mum?”

“No, she died of natural causes” Antonio crosses his arms

“Are you positive on that? I want to see an autopsy report somethings just not adding up”

unwavering, her determination driving her to catch the criminal at any cost.

YN got what she needed, the autopsy report showed that Doms mum did not die of natural causes, in fact she was poisoned slowly over time. YNs theory of dom not being missing made him their first suspect.

As they neared the location where Dom was believed to be hiding, YN's instincts kicked in. With a nod to Jay, she signaled that it was time to make their move.

They burst into the building, guns drawn. YN's training kicked in

“On the floor, now!” YN shouts pointing her gun at Dom “keep your hands where we can see them”

In a matter of moments, Dom was apprehended. Jay and the rest of his team watch the girl they once thought of as quiet become this confident woman. Jay watches on, feeling a sense of pride and love. That’s his girl who he’s extremely proud of.

Where did it go wrong? You thought while frantically packing your things. You had spent hours and hours to find what you did to deserve this but you couldn’t find anything. Nothing pointed towards you doing something wrong but nonetheless you were here, aggressively stuffing your things into a bag while tears were streaming down your face. 

It had started about a month ago. You should’ve been suspicious when they started coming home even later than usual, some of them not at all. Always telling you that there was a meeting at work and that they had already eaten, leaving you to sit at the dining table alone. In the beginning you had still waited for them, hoping every day that at least one of them would be there and have dinner with you but it was always the same.

“Sorry.” “The boss invited us for dinner.” “I’m so tired I need to go to sleep.” “We had take out at work.” 

It left you confused. There was a time where they fought about who can sit next to you during the meals but now it seemed like they didn’t care anymore. You had only realised what exactly was happening when you saw a picture on Wooyoung phone. A picture of them with one of their colleagues. A beautiful woman with a bright smile, surrounded by your boyfriends. 

Jealousy had immediately risen inside of you but you didn’t say anything. It was not like they weren’t allowed to spend time with other people. Instead, you let your doubts eat you from the inside. Did they eat with her every day? Was she the reason they stayed at work longer than they would normally? Was she better than you? 

The worst part was that they didn’t notice. They didn’t notice how you felt and that you were distancing yourself. You would’ve thought that at least one of them cares. But all they cared about was being with that woman. 

What hurt you the most was that they didn’t tell you about her. If they had been honest with you, you wouldn’t have created all these scenarios in your head. But they lied to you. 

“Yeosang?” You tried to get his attention by tapping his shoulder. It was rare that all eight of them were at home. You wanted to talk about it. Voice your anxious thoughts. Letting them go. “Who is that woman you all have been hanging around?” You asked him because you knew he would be honest with you. The room instantly became silent.

“Oh? Do you mean Haeun? She works with us.” Yeosang answered, not giving you a lot of information. “Why do you ask?” 

You didn’t know what to say. “I-.. I’m just curious.” You stuttered, looking down at your feet. 

“She is really fun to be around! Recently she even invited us for dinner and paid.” San said excitedly. His words stabbed right into your heart. This was worse than you expected.

They weren’t cheating on you. You somehow could feel that. It was worse. They hadn’t been doing anything with a bad intention. They simply enjoyed spending time with her. 

They took you for granted. 

From that conversation on you decided not to chase after them anymore. You didn’t wait until they came home to eat dinner. You didn’t ask them how their day was. The few messages that you got during the day, you ignored. If they wanted to tell you something they could tell you in person. 

Your boyfriends on the other side didn’t realize how much time they were spending with Haeun. And how less they were spending time with you. 

The first one to notice that something was weird about you was Mingi. He had always left you a message during the day. Sometimes about work, what they ate for lunch or when they would be coming home. And normally you would respond relatively quickly. But you didn’t answer at all.

He sat in his practice room, eyes glued on his phone. Read two hours ago. It said on his screen. Mingi had voiced his concerns to the others but they disagreed saying that you didn’t behave differently. But he missed you. He wanted to eat dinner with you. Yes, Haeun was fun and when she first got introduced to the team, it was exciting to meet someone new. But he missed the familiarity. It had always been important to Mingi that he was not taken for granted and now he was afraid that they had done exactly that to you. 

But he didn’t act on his feelings. He didn’t want to cause drama where there was none.

The second one to miss you was Jongho. “Y/n what do you…” He wanted to ask you for your opinion on his singing when he turned around and faced an empty room. Right, Y/n isn’t here. He reminded himself, immediately feeling a sting in his heart. Every Tuesday you would follow him to practice and listen to him sing. But as soon as he thought about it he realized that you hadn’t been there in multiple weeks. Jongho instantly remembered Mingi’s concerns and decided to go look for him.

When they finally opened up about their feelings and what they had been observing, Mingi and Jongho went to tell the others. 

Before they could even finish what they were trying to say, Seonghwa tried to call you. He was blaming himself for not giving you the attention you deserved. He wanted to beat himself up. It was so clear now that Mingi and Jongho had mentioned it.

How could they neglect you like this and not even notice? 

And that was the same question you asked yourself as you zipped up your bag. Just as you wanted to put your phone into your pocket, it started ringing. It was Seonghwa. You took a deep breath as you declined the call and left the apartment.

You didn’t know for how long or how far but you needed to get away. Right after getting into the taxi you had ordered, you turned off your phone indefinitely.

“Y/n isn’t answering.” Seonghwa announced, his voice shaking. 

“Get in the car. I’m driving us home.” Yunho said, leaving the room with big steps. The others following him. Yunho’s mind was racing. He wanted to stay calm. He needed to stay calm. He had to be strong. It didn’t matter how he felt, all he wanted was to see your face and make sure everything is fine. It was all just imagination. You will be waiting at home. He tried to tell himself while he was getting into the car. 

Hongjoong was trying to remember any signs of you changing while he was squeezing himself into the car. He had never been home as much as the others so it wasn’t strange for him to eat alone or to sneak into the bedroom without waking anyone up. But something had been strange. This morning, when he came out of the bathroom, he caught you staring at him. And he could swear you had tears in your eyes. But since you didn’t say anything he had assumed you were fine. This damn assumption.

When they finally arrived at their apartment, San immediately jumped out of the car and ran to the door.

“Y/n? Y/n!” He called you before he even entered the building. Wooyoung and Yeosang were right behind him. After finally opening the door they stormed in searching for you in their home. The rest followed them slowly, scared to not find you. 

It wasn’t until he heard a sob that Wooyoung slowed down. A sob? He made his way over to your room, gently pushing the door open. His eyes widened as he saw San kneeling in front of your bed, a note in his hands and his face buried in your sheets. 

“Sannie?” Wooyoung slowly walked closer to his loved one. “Y/n…” San sobbed, not able to form a sentence. “What is it Sannie?” Wooyoung kneeled down next to him, softly taking the note from his hands. As he started reading, tears formed in his eyes. 

And that was when the others finally found them. They looked at Wooyoung, hope and pain in their eyes at the same time as he slowly shook his head. Yeosang’s legs gave in as he saw the expression on Wooyoung’s face. You were gone. No no no that’s impossible he thought, staring to the ceiling with a blank face. You couldn’t leave them.

Still not wanting to believe what was happening, Yunho harshly snapped the note out of Wooyoung’s hand. 

I am going on a trip. Don’t text or call me, I need time to think. I hope you understand. I loved you so much.

His head went numb.

It had only taken Amerie a few minutes to come up after Harper and (Y/n). (Y/n) watched as she hurried along to leave, inside she was sort of glad about it, that was until she saw Darren and Quinni leave with her hand in hand. Jealously rose inside her like a tidal wave. What was that? Her friends asked her to come then barely spend time with her and leave with Amerie! 

"You alright?" Harper asked her friend who seemed to be glaring in Amerie's direction.

"Hm?"

"You seem distracted. You okay?"

"Oh, yeah.. just tired."  

"We can go home if you want?"

"No, you should party--"

"(Y/n)"

"Im fine really! go, go dance."  "You sure?"

"Hm!"

"Really?"

"...Okay maybe i do want to leave but i still want you to enjoy yourself." (Y/n) confesses softly. Harper smiles, holding hands with the girl. 

"That's fine, i'll be okay, really, you can go home." 

"You sure?" 

"Yeah. i have my phone and your necklace remember?"  Harper pulls out the emergency pendant that, once clicked sends a message of the wearer's location and a distress signal.

"Okay, if you're sure?" (Y/n) says shuffling about not ready to let go of the blonde girl.  

"Yes, go on, go" Harper waves the girl off.

"Okay, call me if you need a ride, and if you go somewhere, or if youre lonely!" (Y/n) rambles on as Harper pushes her along to the exit.

"I'll be fine babes! go," 

"Okay, see you later?" Harper nods and lets the girl go.

The morning after entering school (Y/n) again tries to reconnect with her friends. Spotting them in a corner and walking up to them with a smile only to pause when the scene infront of her plays out. Darren and Quinni smile arms openly calling over someone, Amerie. "Hey! Over here! Amerie, this way! It's our new bestie." "Morning."  "Hello!" Quinni links her arm around the brown girl and walks with her to class.  If that wasn't enough to make (Y/n)'s blood boil she didnt know what was. She takes a breath and heads towards Harper to talk with. Spotting the girl standing next to a boy she walks closer only to pause, was that Dusty? She links arms with the blonde girl startling her a bit. 

"Hope i'm not interrupting?" 

"Not at all," Harper links her arm with (Y/n)'s as they walk away. 

"So, whats that about?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"Hm!"

(Y/n)'s eyes narrow in suspicion looking back she sees dusty gazing longlingy at Harper, and back at the girl next to her. "..Oh my-- Did you two-" (Y/n) gasps. 

"Hush." Harper says with a cheekiy smile. 

"No way!"

"Hush, it was just a hookup, nothing serious."

"...okay... did you have fun?" (Y/n) asks awkwardly, not sure what to ask in the conversation. 

"...um, sure."

"okie. That's good." 

The next time (Y/n) interacts with her friends again is in the SLTs class. They talk with her as if nothing is new or changed so she can't react much. She doesn't confront them about the Amerie thing, or the ditching her at the party thing. Instead the friends catch up for the little time they can until Amerie comes back taking her place. The second time she sees them is during P.E. when she finds out that Quinni likes Sasha and watches her ask the hispanic girl out, from across the field. She sighs feeling left out.

In the changing rooms she spots Harper changing, the girl's back facing her and slumps her head against her shoulder whining, making the blond laugh. 

"Whats up?" (Y/n) sighs in response, before looking over Harper's bruise. 

"..I'll tell you at home, you still using the ointment I gave you?" (Y/n) light grazes the wound with her finger making Harper ticklish. 

"Yes, and it doesn't hurt as much anymore."

"Good." The (h/c) haired girl lets go, letting her change.

Amerie walks up the court dodging the field of sweaty teens to the one white boy who could solve her problem. "Spider, please sell me a slap band." "What? No. You cooked? No way." The boy refuses not even glancing at her.  "Dusty said I could come." "Why do you think he put me in charge of tickets? Huh? Keep tossers like you out."  "Twenty bucks, right? I can transfer it to you right now." "No, it's, uh... It's gone up to eighty now." "Come on, I'm asking you nicely. Please..." "Ninety. Be 100 in a minute." "Listen, you mayonnaise fuck. What is your problem with me?" Spider pauses before thinking of his answer.  "You're the reason we're in SLTs."  "Well, SLTs is cancelled. Okay, so..." Amiere announces causing the other students to murmur. 

"You really want to come?" "Yes, please." "Hundred bucks, then." Spider grins tossing the basketball in the hoop. Amerie rolls her eyes about to walk away when someone walking towards her catches her eye. (Y/n) walks past the brown skinned girl straight to Spider. 

"Hey. Still got those ticket things?" She asks him. The boy raises a brow. 

"What you plan on coming fish?" He teases. 

"Actually yeah." (Y/n) says bluntly, pulling out two twenty dollar bills. "Got two?" Spider pauses looking between the girl and the money, he might have reconsidered had he not caught the glimpse of anger and annoyance on Amerie's face making him grin.

"Actually just for your first time, i'll give you a discount, twenty for both." 

"What?!" Amerie reacts frustated. 

"Fine by me." (Y/n) shrugs handing him one of the twenties instead. 

"Pleasure doing business, i'll bring your bracelets to you." He smiles taking the money as the girl walks away. 

"How is that fair?!" Amerie whines, walking off, only to receive a bracelet from Malakai. 

(Y/n) was starting to regret coming to this party the minute Amerie jumped over a wall and fell into the pool, as Malakai laughed with the girl, She couldnt help but feel that twinge of jealously once more. Its not like Malakai and her even talked more than one or two times, but he sort of maybe flirted with her...kind of? She shakes her head. its not like she can blame him, or anyone else for this. She was never the best at flirting or showing someone her feelings romantically.

"You okay?" Harper's voice breaks her train of thought. 

"Yeah why?" 

"..didn't you like the new gu--" 

"No."

"..okay,"

She mostly stuck with Harper throughout the party that is when she saw Quinni upset and running around, quickly informing Harper, she runs after the sparkle covered girl. She watches as Quinni breaks down in the bathroom, Amerie trying to take a step closer only to be stopped by Darren who tells her to leave nicely. The three friends once more reunited calm Quinni down, and relax with her. (Y/n) sitting on the side of the tub reading a book online on her phone, and Darren relaxing with an eye mask. 

"Okay, I think I'm good to go now." Quinni announces softly.  "Stunning." Darren says taking off their eye mask. 

(Y/n) gives her friends a soft smile as they walk back down to the party.  "Where is Amerie?" As much as (Y/n) wanted to say 'who cares?' she bit her tongue holding back. Quinni spots Sasha and chats with her after assuring her friends.

Wasn’t everyday just so grand in Hell?

No.

It wasn’t.

Working at the Hazbin Hotel sure wasn’t making your days any grander. Being a room attendant and a good friend to Charlie was starting to get to you.

At least Nifty was there to help. Even though she mainly tried to kill the bugs she at least helped clean the place up. You had become accustomed to her weird and somewhat insane antics. It was Hell after all. You couldn’t really judge.

Husk was as fun as ever. Giving snarky comments but he at least listened when the night wound down and you needed a drink.

Angel Dust would joke around and tell you how awful you looked after scrubbing one of the rooms.

Vaggie didn’t say much since she knew you were friends with Charlie. She rather enjoyed your company stating you were one of the most sane sinners in the hotel.

Alastor on the other hand. Didn’t say much about you nor did he really say much about anyone. He would greet you just as anyone else. Something about him felt weirdly off.

You didn’t question it too much and just went on with your work.

“Hello Darling pleasure to be seeing you this morning!” That radio like voice echoed into the hotels kitchen. You were busy making breakfast.

Someone had to do it and it sure wasn’t gonna be Nifty. No one wants roaches in their pancakes.

“Good morning Alastor.” You answered not looking at him as you flipped the pancake. “Making up a lovely breakfast I do suppose? My mother used to make the most splendid ones in her time.” He remarked as his shadow loomed over you from behind.

“I’m sure she did. I’m not so positive mine will beat your mothers but it will beat your hunger.” Your joke was met with that signature smile as you turned around.

“Ahaha Im sure it will.” He laughed as he stepped aside to give you room. “I came to see if you were able to dust my radio tower? It has accumulated quite a bit of dust.” His question wasn’t really a question. You’d have to do it. It was your job. Though it was nice that he wasn’t demanding.

“Yes I can. I’ll just have to finish up breakfast.” You stated as you went back to cooking.

“Lovely. Oh and {Y/N}.” He cooed making you turn to look at him. His eyes turned dark and black, red static glitched around him. The room turned dark. “Don’t mess with my things.” He warned his clock eyes appearing and his smile widening.

You nodded quickly and looked around. You had seen him do this before but never to you directly. “Yes sir. I won’t.” You answered quickly and sighed with relief as he went back to normal.

“Good.” He clapped his hands together and turned away. “I’ll be back once breakfast is done.” He waved and hummed as he walked out of the kitchen.

You went back to cooking. Just forgetting about what just happened. It was best to just act like it was normal.

With breakfast done. You headed off to do your job. Or well request in better words. You grabbed your dusting supplied and went up to Alastors radio tower.

Doing as asked you just dusted. Not moving much of his stuff just the things that needed to be moved to dust. Hopefully he wouldn’t be too mad about that.

Surely he understood if you had to move stuff to be able an do your job. If not I guess you would have to run to Charlie and hide.

While dusting two figures on his desk caught your attention.

A small deer next to a bigger one. Which resembled a doe. Apart if you just assumed he kept up with the deer aesthetic he had going.

Shrugging you dusted them and headed out of the room. Closing the door and headed down stairs to put your supplies up.

Nifty was off cleaning somewhere. Husk and Angel Dust were chatting at the bar. Charlie had gone off with Vaggie for the night and who knows where Alastor was.

Deciding that cooking dinner sounded like a good idea you found your self in the kitchen again. Perhaps Charlie should’ve made you the chef instead. Though you just picked up both the jobs. Cleaning was easy and cooking was fun.

Humming you skimmed through a cook book. Unsure of what to cook for the night. That was until a shadow appeared behind you and Alastor appeared.

“Hello Dear!” His enthusiastic voice echoed through the kitchen causing you to turn around and look at him. “I saw you finished dusting. Thank you.” He leaned again the counter. Checking out his claws with a smile. “Need help cooking?” He questioned before looking over at you.

“Just having trouble picking what to cook for tonight.” You answered with a shrug. Making him stand up straight and clap his hands together.

“Why I know just the thing!” He snatched the cook book from you and threw it behind him. A loud thud echoed as it hit the ground.

“Hey-“ he put a finger over your mouth and laughed.

“My mother once showed me a lovely recipe for jambalaya! Who needs a flimsy old cook book when you have memory darling.” He chuckled and nudged you aside as he grabbed all the things he needed.

“I can show you it. If you wish.” He titled his head. Offering to let you in on one of his favorite things.

Something you didn’t suspect but found it rather kind of him.

“Sure. I’d love to learn it.” You agreed and stood beside him as he instructed you on things and gave insight on how to make the ‘best jambalaya you’ll ever eat.’

As he stated.

“My mother loved cooking this. Said it was her favorite dish, yes it was.” He smiled wide. A rather genuine smile. Not like the one he always wore. He looked down at the finished dish. A sigh of content escaping his lips.

“I’m sure she was a lovely woman.” You commented grabbing a plate from the cabinet.

He didn’t answer, just hummed. The silence was rather loud. He just stood there for a moment. Lost in memory.

“She was..she really was.” Though his voice sounded rather sad he still held the smile. The never erasing smile.

His reply was late but you put some of the finished jambalaya on a plate. His tone shifting to one of excitement.

“I’m sure you’ll find it splendid.” He turned to you and titled his head. Waiting for you to take a bite.

You moved the spoon up to your mouth and took a bite. Your eyes widened and a smile spread across your face.

It tasted lovely, better than you expected.

His smile stretched further as he watched your reaction.

“Oh I knew you’d love it! It’s very splendid don’t you think? Yes yes, a rather grand recipe the best recipe!” He wrapped his arms around your shoulder. Stretching his arm out in-front of you both and curling his fingers into the palm of his hand.

“I’m sure you agree this is better than some flimsy thing from that old cook book. I can show you many other recipes my mother showed me.” He leaned into your face a smile stuck on his face.

He had never been this touchy so he must be excited.

You nodded in agreement. The idea of having someone to cook with wasn’t a bad one.

“I’d like that.” You laughed and he joined in. Laughing with you for once not feeling like he had to be towering over someone to be seen.

So cooking together became a daily occurrence. Wether it be breakfast lunch or dinner. It didn’t matter.

He found cooking with you pleasing. You were one of the only demons he could stand in the hotels.

He slowly began to tell you more about his life. How he and his mother were close. Though it seemed he dodged the questions of his father. Never wanting to talk of him.

Which was understandable from what you could possibly piece together it seemed his dad wasn’t the best.

You decided not to push its.

“So my dear, have you considered being redeemed?” His question made you think. You were both outside looking up at the sky. Dinner was done. And everyone had went to their rooms. You on the other hand weren’t tired and Alastor didn’t have any plans for tomorrow so staying up with you didn’t bother him.

“I suppose it would be nice. Though I’m not sure I would fit in up there.” You shrugged leaning against the railing of his balcony.

He hummed and looked down. “You’re a rather charming demon belle. I don’t see why you wouldn’t fit in.” He chuckled to himself. He didn’t believe in that wacky nonsense of being redeemed.

How could a sinner go to heaven? They had chosen their path in their life time.

He learned that you had killed your husband at the time. Caught him cheating and decided to take his life as well as the other woman. You made your choice in that moment.

Dooming yourself to a life of sin. Just as he had when he committed all his murders.

Though a part of him feared the idea of redemption now. He knew he sure as hell wouldn’t be redeemed. He didn’t feel bad for his crimes. Nor did he care.

But apart of him knew you regretted your actions. You were a soul who would deserve to be redeemed if there was a way.

That scared him.

Knowing he wasn’t in control. Knowing that you could slip out of his hands.

He wasn’t being selfish with his want of keeping you. He just liked having someone around who enjoyed his company. Someone who wasn’t scared of him or only chatted with him cause they didn’t wanna be killed.

Though that is rather selfish isn’t it? Not wanting someone to succeed and be a better version of themself because you want them to stay as they are.

“I’m sure you’d fit in just swell so don’t you worry your pretty little head about it.” He flashed a smile your way. Teeth not showing this time. It seemed almost fake. You shrugged.

“I guess. I would miss everyone here though.. mainly you.” Your words hit him like a brick. He hasn’t suspected you to really truly care about him. Sure you said you two were friends but.. this meant a lot.

“Oh come now. You wouldn’t miss me once you see all the.. heavenly things up there.” He chucked. His voice sounded off and his radio effect faltered.

“Are you okay Alastor? It’s not like I’m gonna be redeemed and even if I was I would miss you. So don’t say I wouldn’t.” You were slightly annoyed at him now. Of course you’d miss him. No amount of heavenly items or ideals would ever top him and his terrible old timey jokes.

“Don’t lie. We’re in Hell why lie? You’re already here! It’s not like it’s gonna send you further down!” He seethed his claws digging into the railing.

“Alastor calm down. Why are you so upset?” You stepped closer to the demon. His ears bent back and his pupils went small. His smile crinkled and his teeth bared.

“You! You have me so confused!” He ran his hand through his hair. Closing his eyes.

“I’ve never felt like this before.. it’s all so frustrating. I’m supposed to make you scared! Don’t you fear me?” He dropped his hand and laughed. A hysteric laugh.

“Alastor..I don’t fear you.. I see you for you.. you’re an amazing friend.” You laid your hand on his shoulder. Calming him down slightly.

“I’m just here to watch these souls suffer and try to climb up only to fall into the fiery pits of failure.. but the pleasure in watching others fail isn’t fun when it comes to you.” He turned his head to look at you.

Your eyes met and for once the smile that was on his face didn’t match what was showing in his eyes.

“A part of me just wants to be with you forever. Just blissfully cooking or chatting like we are now. I’ve never had that.. I have friends but not like this.” He sighed and leaned back against the wall letting himself slide down.

You sat down beside him. Looking at the sky.

“Are those deer figures on your desk you and your mother?” You asked softly.

“Yeah..” he answered.

“They’re lovely.” You held his hand. Smiling as he squeezed yours.

“I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. You can relax. I’m gonna be here with you. So stop being all sad. It doesn’t suite you.” You leaned against his shoulder. Receiving a sigh from him.

“Did I ever tell you about my first radio show appearance?” He asked after a few moments of silence.

“No I don’t believe you did.” You smiled and listened as he began the story.

Jack was convinced he was going to throw up. His hands shook as he sat on the steps of the lake house, awaiting your arrival. He hasn't seen you since christmas, and it's now june, 6 months of not seeing his best friend. Who he might or might not be in love with, but that's besides the point. He couldn't wait to see you, and have you all to himself for the next two weeks, if his family doesn't peel you away from him, which is very likely.

The speed of Jack's bouncing leg started to pick up as he saw your car pulling down the gravel driveway. His heart beat rose, as a smile spread across his face. Jumping up as soon as your car was parked in place. He practically spirited to your driver's side, throwing the door open quickly, pulling you into a bone crushing hug before you even got out of the car. 

“Jack!” your sweet voice giggled out, your face pressed into his neck, he couldn't help but take a deep breath of your shampoo, he can't believe you're actually here, in his arms. 

“Hi. im sorry, i missed you” he says pulling back to get a look at your face, seeing a bright smile and wide eyes looking at him.

“I missed you too, Jack,” you say before leaning up on your toes, pressing a sweet kiss on his cheek. The kiss catches him by surprise, he can literally feel the heat rush to his face as you pull back, sending him another smile. 

“Are you going to stand there and look at me like a lost puppy, or are you gonna help me bring my bags in?” 

“Oh. yes, sorry "Jack says, clearing his throat, stepping away from yn moving towards her truck to get her things.

Yn follows behind him, opening the trunk, turning her back to him as she takes in the view of the lake in front of her. 

“It's so pretty here jack, thank you for inviting me” yn says as she turns around, sending him another sweet smile before helping him grab her bags out the car. 

“You’re welcome, I'm happy you’re here” jack says sending her a smile as he walks behind her towards the house. 

He couldn't help but feel like something was different between them. The kiss that she placed on his cheek a few moments ago, had already left an invisible mark on his face. He couldn't help but imagine how her soft lips would feel on his. That's when jack hughes knew he was completely utterly in love with his best friend, and he really really wanted to kiss her,

Ever since the lake house, something changed between jack and yn. Their communication became stronger, texting and calling almost everyday of the week. Innocent touches when they were together, Jack's hand never failing to find her lower back, yn always placing her hand on his arm, or maybe even moving to hold his hand. flirty banter between the both of them Jack couldn't help but feel like their friendship was beginning to blossom into something more. 

Even with the sudden change in their relationship, Jack couldn't help but be nervous as he typed out a message, asking her if she’d like to be his plus one at a gala for charity event that devils players attended every year. She’s come with him to these types of things before but this time it felt different. 

Hitting send on the message before turning his phone over. Jack let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding, he wasn't even sure why he was so nervous. His phone dings not even a second later, with a text. Opening it quickly when he sees it from you, his eyes running over the text, that says you'd be more happy to go with him. He smiles at the response, typing another text to you, about the date and time. He couldn't help but wish Saturday would come sooner.

Before he knows it's Saturday, and once again Jack's hands are shaking as he walks down the hall to your apartment, with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Once he reaches your door, he can't help but worry if the flowers are too much. Do you even like flowers? Are you allergic to flowers? Pushing those thoughts down, deciding it's now or never, he says to himself as he knocks on your door.

“One second!” he hears you call out from the other side.

A minute or so passes before your door opens. Jack's breath leaves his body as he stares at you in awe. The floor length black dress you're wearing, fits your body like a glove. He can't help but trail his eyes up and down your body, taking all of your beauty in, 

“Do you like it?” you say, breaking the silence 

Jack swallows before speaking, “You look beautiful, yn” 

“thank you, you look quite handsome yourself” she says with a smile

“Thank you. Oh! These flowers are for you” holding the flowers out for yn to grab. “I'm not sure if you like flowers, I can't remember what kind you like, or if you even like them at all. So I just got a random mix. I hope you like them.” jack rambles anxiously

“Jack” yn says, stepping closer to him, taking the flowers from him, and leaning just close enough to place a kiss on his cheek. 

“They're beautiful, I love them. Thank you.” she smiles, “Now come inside, you look like a creep standing in hallway” she giggles 

Nodding his head in response, following yn into her apartment, shutting the door behind them. Jack can't help but let his eyes wander to how her ass moves in the dress. Taking a deep breath as he runs his hand across his face, in attempts to pull himself together. 

“I'm almost ready! I just need to put my shoes on and throw these flowers into a vase!” you yell from your bedroom

“Okay, take your time!” Jack says as he begins to slowly pace around your living room. 

The only thought running through his mind was how good your body would feel against his, how your dress would look laying on the floor, and most importantly how your lips would feel against his.

“So when are you gonna finally ask yn out?” quinn says from beside him

“What? Where did this come from?” jack asks, turning to look at quinn 

“It's so obvious that you've been in love with her for literally forever” 

“Its not..” jack trails off 

“Dude. it is, you both are too scared to make the first move. She’s obviously into you” 

“I don't think so, i can't read her sometimes” jack counters

“Are you serious” quinn scoffs

“Yes..?” jack says slowly

“Jack, can you do me a favor?” quinn asks 

“Yes” 

“Please, do me a favor.. grow a pair of balls and ask her out” 

“What if she rejects me, and i ruin our friendship” jack says defensively 

“Jack, for the love of god. She won't reject you. Just ask her” quinn sighs 

“Okay okay. But if this all goes to shit, i'm blaming your dumbass” jack says, pointing at him

“It wont, but okay” Quinn replies, rolling his eyes. 

“Should I ask her out in person? Of over text? Facetime? Call-” 

“Call her now” quinn says cutting him off

“Now?” 

“Yes jack, go call her now” quinn says, giving jack a slight shove

“Okay okay, i'm going” getting up before quinn can say or do anything else. Walking into the kitchen, pulling out his phone, clicking on your contact, moving his phone to his ear as it rings.

“Hi jack” you say, answering on the second ring

“Hi yn, i wanted to ask you something” 

“Yes?” 

“Are you busy this weekend?” he asks nervously

“No, I don't think so, why?” you ask 

Taking a deep breath before he speaks, “I was wondering if you'd like to go out, like on a date, with me?” The line is quiet for a moment, Jack almost feels stupid for even asking, as you go radio silent.

“I would love too” you finally answer

“Really? I mean- okay great. I’ll pick you up on Friday at 7?” 

“Friday at 7 works for me” you say, jack can practically hear the smile in your voice as you speak

“Okay great, i'll see you then” he smiles 

“Bye jack” 

“Bye pretty girl, see you friday '' he says before ending the call, he can't help but throw his hands in the air like he's celebrating a goal. 

“QUINN!” he yells 

“Yes?” quinn answers as he walks into the kitchen 

“SHE SAID YES!!!” he shouts, before pulling quinn into a hug

“What did i tell you” 

“I know” 

“But hey, at least you finally did it. Maybe you'll get that kiss you've been wanting so bad, "Quinn says, smacking his back before walking out of the kitchen. Shaking his head at his brother's statement, even though he can't help but hope he's right. 

Because Jack really really really wants to kiss you, and he's not sure how much longer he can wait.

“Okay give me your hands' 'Jack says to a blindfolded yn, who's holding out her hands as she begins to follow him, walking like a baby beer who's just taking its first steps. 

“Jack, i swear to god if i fall, i will kill you” 

“Calm downnnn, you know I won't let that happen. Especially on our first date '' Jack says, sending her a smile even though she can't see it. 

“Okay how much longer? I'm getting nervous” yn asks 

“Almost there pretty girl, be patient” 

“I’m tryingg ” yn whines to him

Jack couldn't help but chuckle at her, “only a few more steps, i promise” he says, walking them about 5 more steps before stopping. 

“Okay are you ready?” he asks

“Very” 

Taking a deep breath, Jack moves in front of her, pulling off the blindfold from her face, moving beside her once it's off. Yn’s jaw drops slightly in awe as she stares at the sight in front of her. 

A picnic setup lays out in front of her, with every type of snack you can possibly want, all of her favorites. Along with a bunch of pillows, a bottle of wine, flowers; you name it, it's there. Her eyes couldn't help but water as he stared in awe. Jack's hands nervously move from beside her, waiting for her to say something. 

“Jack..” yn starts, turning towards him, “this is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me. I can't believe you did all of this” 

“You deserve nothing less than the best” he smiles 

“You're so sweet. Thank you this is all so amazing” she says, moving closer to him, Jack who's thinking he's about to get another sweet kiss on his cheek is greatly surprised when he feels her lips come in contact with his. His lips against hers before his brain even registers what's happening. 

Her hands snaked around his neck, as their kiss deepenes. Jack's hands move to her waist, pulling her body into his as their lips continue to move together as one. A few moments pass before the pull away, their lips swollen as they stare back at each other. 

“I wanted to do that for a long time” he says

“Me too.” yn replies 

“Wanna do that again?” jack asks with a small smirk

“I'd thought you'd never ask” yn replies before reconnecting their lips
