I drew some pictures at church and since they're both au Drayton related, I will put them here.
I also talk about a couple of dreams I had some time ago.
Wizard may seem like your average snobby high elf but he really really likes creatures.
Tumblr media
We see him here with a basilisk type chicken thing and a whatever that fluffy thing is.
The au Wizard is from is actually so fun it's got pokemon, digimon, animals, and magical beast critters in it. Such biodiversity :0 and to think his entire au came from a dream.
Nap time for Wizard and some of his friends
Tumblr media
There's 2 digimon and one pokemon here the rest are magic creatures. Hilariously it turns out I know how to draw more digimon from memory than pokemon. I remember back in high school I could draw things like dialga and arceus from memory near flawlessly but whatevs.
I never talked about something due to just. not having the typing motivation but some like. week ago or somewhere around that much time ago, probably more into last month, I had a third dream about his au. That one revealed that the universe he's in has another side. Yall know how in that spyro game with the sorceress and the dragon eggs there was another world just on the other side of some holes in the ground and the dragons used to live there instead? Well Wizard's au is like that according to the dream. Right down to "the elf people used to live on that other side of the world".
Except that other side has just normal animals and normal human people and they don't believe in magic and they certainly don't think magic elf people exist. In the dream, Wizard went over there because he was told by some elf elders or whatever that they needed some artifacts retrieved from that other side of the world and his type of magic is the only thing that can open portals to there.
The place where the artifacts were in is a cave that in modern times ended up being converted into a hunter's lodge. They hunted bears specifically. It was like a metal building that was all basement. It was a cool looking place imo. Wizard snuck in and couldn't find the artifacts. They were probably put in some kind of museum or something. The dream didn't specify why they were gone, just that they were gone.
They were returning from an unsuccessful hunt as Wizard was about to walk back up the stairs and leave. There was a back exit that led directly to a beach so Wizard dashed and snuck out there. They heard him though. They got out their guns. Not from assuming the intruder was a bear, but from being bad dudes who react irrationally to people nearby.
Wizard could tell those folks were killing critters though and he didn't like that. Wizard is very much an animal/creature/whatever lover.
He went to the top of something and made his shadow look like a bear to trick them into looking for where the fake bear went while he would attempt to find the artifacts. But too late, he realized that where his shadow fell, it was an island with a unicorn on it. This was an island that was a remnant of the last of the old world's magic. That also could have been where the artifacts were but as I said the dream didn't tell me.
The unicorn and all the other possible magic stuff on that island somehow went undetected until that little oopsie.
The hunters saw the unicorn and immediately forgot they went after bears.
There was shallow water between where the hunters' place was and the island. It was something like almost waist deep but not quite.
Wizard, being who he is, dashed over there, revealing himself. The elf elders apparently made it very clear that he not let the people on the other side see him but there he was, arms spread out between the unicorn and the hunters.
He told the hunters to stop and they pushed him aside. A bunch of big buff dudes easily overpowered the scrawny teen who couldn't use all his magic in the other world.
Wizard starts weakly apologizing to the unicorn while being splashed and covered by the waves of the water but then the scene immediately goes to showing a full on backstory for how the elves first moved to where they are now away from the humans. It was a tragic, dramatic and beautiful story with a romance that ended in death but I don't care to go into the details right now.
I think it almost revealed where the artifacts were but I woke up before that. Also I think the unicorn made everyone there collectively hallucinate that backstory to give itself the opportunity to escape. It pulled Wizard out of the water too. The unicorn knew the importance of hiding the magic from the humans. And it sensed Wizard is way more of a kind soul than he seems. Aww :D
While I'm talking about dreams, I keep forgetting to say this but in a dream a few days ago, the memory was unclear even the day of, Cloak guy did something or said something that was either funny or stupid or both. Idk what. The ambiguity of it makes it funnier somehow but it's also frustrating how I recall that I knew what it was, whether he did something or said something and every detail for a total of 5 seconds after I woke up that night before forgetting

Votes have been decided time to explain the au that has been trapped in my brain for almost a week also maybe some of the sketches I have made for the au as well.
I also kinda had a pretty long day, so don't flood the notes please, but like wait 30 seconds if possible.
This might be a really long post since I can trail off at times when explaining.
I am known to ramble so I wanted to add a few more things. I wanted to say thank you to those who have supported me so far even if it is as small as a like. Even some of you inspired me. I can be nervous when talking with people so it's kinda helped me a bit.
So I will now introduce the au.
What started as a small little idea turned in an au.
What is the au about?
Well the au is a crossover of Viva Piñata and Submas.
For those who don't know what it is let me explain.
Viva Piñata is a garden simulation game Created by Microsoft GameStudios and Rare (Those who made Banjo n' Kazooie)
It is also a fandom of a small size from as much as I know.
The first game starts with you getting a deed for a garden on piñata island, that had previously belonged to one of the most amazing gardeners on the island but then his age crept up on him weakening him, so he had his daughter try to fix the garden but couldn't.
We meet her and she gives us the journal and a shovel being held together by basically a ribbon and a wish.
We are then instructed with basics and such and then we are able to break up the junk and renew the soil, and then you get you first piñata, called a Whirlm.
Tumblr media
A screenshot of the game cover, from google on my phone.
Viva Piñata, the original game is what I explained there are quite a few pieces of media the do exist. There existed a tv show that ran on 4kids, where the main 3 where of the Piñatas above,
Paulie Pretzeltail, Hudson Horstachio, and Fergy Fudgehog. But I will explain about the TV show another time.
Then there was trouble in paradise, which added more plants, piñatas, piñata varieties, and characters.
Oh yeah this here below is a whirlm
Tumblr media
Okay enough about that for now if you don't fully understand it I also do recommend checking out the wiki. Sometimes I can talk about a topic for hours but I must restrain myself.
Okay so it basically starts like legends arceus kinda, but there is no arc phone this time, but the brothers do have their own phones but the phones aren't functioning.
The twins find themselves separated on opposite ends of piñata island.
Tumblr media
Most of they're memories are still intact but not for how they got there, so yes they still remember each other.
Both then search for any life or people on this strange island.
Ingo ends up finding a town, because it seems every seems to wear colorful clothes and masks, some kids and people stare at him, it was kinda rare to see someone from the main land.
(In viva pinata all human characters, okay most human characters have masks, or costumes, sometimes faces are viewable at times)
Emmet isn't as fortunate as his brother. Finding himself being followed by a flock of strange paper birds, when he eventually falls in to a mineshaft. The whole place is covered with webs, when suddenly he is swarmed by arocknid, but not in a hostile way but more curious to why this human had fallen into their home.
Tumblr media
Here is an arocknid.
I have a few other things like random scenarios or little sketches.
You can also ask me questions about the au.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright that's all I have for now also please don't blow up the notes please.
As said in the start of the post I did kinda have a long day and artblock has kinda got a hold of me. So I may need a mental break for the weekend.

Hello? Hello? Danganronpa self shipper? Please share the F/Os and S/Is I crave this content bestie
Tumblr media
Okay, so you asked this like, weeks ago (I’m sorry) but I am now officially not too stressed to enjoy anything other than Pokémon Legends: Arceus. I also had to write this in two sittings. So let’s go :3
My S/I is literally just me plopped in there. A tiny trans-guy being neurodivergent and trying his best. Like, I sometimes play with more backstory of me finally being able to study abroad in Japan and visiting Hopes Peak (except I’ve graduated now without ever studying abroad, thanks COVID :,3) and y’know, shit hits the fan. after those Sneaksy Twins™ start putting plans into action that involve one of them “disappearing” Mr. Jin Kirigiri was like “shit, need to find another one to fill in the gap so that we can have adequate pairs of Make Babies just in case everyone else dies. YOU. ASSIGNED FEMALE AT BIRTH.” :/ Which leads to survival, which leads to Future Foundation being like “hey can you babysit these guys on an island for us real quick” which justifies in my head my participation in the first two games. It also forces me to think dialogue in Japanese, which I desperately need to practice. But that’s all very messy and I generally don’t think about it too hard. That is for “canon” timeline anyway.
I do prefer non-despair AUs though, and also the “before everything went wrong” part of the anime. My idea there is that (by means I haven’t bothered to figure out) a woefully unqualified me is able to sneak into class 77 after stealing a Main Course uniform. Any time someone asks about my ultimate talent the answer changes which eventually leads to “haha, guess and I’ll tell you if you’re right ;)” My S/I does not have an ultimate talent, which does lead to angst. Yes, you already know where this is going, but let’s start with THH.
Oh, just so that I don’t have to name quite so many, I adore almost all of the characters platonically. There are, of course exceptions, but I think only Junko and Hiyoko, do I really dislike.
So in Trigger Happy Havoc, the only character I really ever desired romantically/intimately was Leon Kuwata. Much to my chagrin, he is a fuckboy. That’s okay though, it started out as a “hey if we’re all going to die, why not a little hedonism? I don’t wanna die a virgin, you game?” Alas ._. Anyway, we’re more fuck-buddies than anything, or we were because now I’m in a more committed relationship :3
Let’s hop over to V3 for juuust a sec before I absolutely gush on my SDR2 babes. ^^
So, either kinning Shuichi led to f/o-ing him, or f/o-ing him led to kinning. One or the other. My best friend kins Kaede, so go figure. Either way, I love him ^^ That said, I’m also a simp for Kaede, she’s such a good girl. I like to think of the three of us in a polycule.
I also love love love Kiibo so much!!! He’s such a good boy and he’s trying his best! I like to think of us becoming closer in my Japanese daydreams because I rely on him to translate some of my more complicated thoughts (trials) when I don’t have the vocabulary to communicate them in Japanese.
Okay! Now for SDR2! I could honestly make a separate post just for them. I’ll put the meta in this post and make a separate post for my canon ^^
Alrighty, so I think that my first boyo was Kazuichi Souda, Mr. shark teeth himself. It was real quick, I don’t remember exactly when, but I do remember commenting to my friends that I wanted to kiss him on the mouth pretty early on though. It became a running joke ^^ Pretty simple though, I thought he was attractive and had almost exactly the same personality type as Leo Valdez a la Percy Jackson, who I also had a huge crush on back in the day.
Next, chronologically and in terms of how complicated the route to understanding the feelings, is Fingers-In-His-Ass himself, Nagito Komaeda. So in the beginning I thought he was a pretty decent guy, but 1. I’d been on the internet long enough, and 2. My friend who had played the DR games before had a <_< attitude about him, so I knew something would happen. After the first trial, my pre-played friend was like “yeah, never really liked him. I thought he was pretty annoying” and my friend who was playing for the first time with me was like “lmao wtf” and despite everything, I couldn’t find it in me to hate him. I was kinda confused about it, but hating him didn’t feel right, despite the awful things he did. It wasn’t until I was contemplating after waking up at 3am or something, that I realized I couldn’t hate him because he was just like me. When my depression gets real bad, my self loathing monologue is his self deprecating monologue almost verbatim. From there, I was more inclined to sympathize with him and try to defend him. There… there was a little bit of an “I can fix him” thing going on, I’ll be real. But he doesn’t need to be “fixed” if it’s a non-despair AU and everything is fine anyway!
And finally, the MOST CONVOLUTED WAY TO CATCH FEELINGS EVER. Ft. Teruteru Hanamura :3
So, a little about me: I just graduated college with a bachelors degree in Japanese language. The school I went to required a senior thesis to graduate, for a Japanese degree that meant writing a 25 page paper about something related to Japan/Japanese language/culture. My topic of choice was the localization of Japanese video games for US audiences.
Actually, the whole reason I stumbled upon this topic was with the help of Teruteru and Miss Lotta Hart, from the Ace Attorney series. I wondered why in these two games (that I played in English) both had a character that spoke with a US southern accent, when the original games were written in Japanese. Obviously this had been a choice during localization, but why? How did they talk in the Japanese versions, and what’s the connection between their characters?
Well, for Lotta, she speaks with and Osaka dialect and portrays a character trope for loud, direct, and headstrong characters. Osaka characters are a character trope, pretty cut and dry. Teruteru doesn’t really fit into that, and only speaks with an accent near the end, so what does that mean?
I ended up writing a 7 page section titled “The Fascinating Case of Teruteru Hanamura”. I studied his dialect usage during the trial—it is not the same as Lotta’s dialect—I studied the way that he talks before he slips into that dialect, compared the stereotypes associated with the dialect that he uses and a US southern accent, and finally did an analysis of his character, why and how he masked where he was from, and why localization did a good job of conveying that character arc. Yeah, I did a lot of researching and thinking and writing about Teruteru.
And thesis? It’s stressful. I had a good many breakdowns over the course of the semester, but the only way to make myself less stressed was to do it. The trouble is, I have a really hard time organizing my thoughts on paper, but I can speak them really well. So in true self-shipper form, I found myself talking out my thoughts and planning my writing with fictional characters. And who’s the fictional character who was always on my mind? Teruteru. I ended up talking to him a lot, I got stressed a lot.
And ya know what? I think he’s exactly the f/o I needed to support me at that time. When I get super stressed, I don’t want to eat. I don’t want to go somewhere on campus to get food where people can see me falling apart. But it was a lot harder to skip meals when he was right there to bug me about it. “Honey, when did you eat last?” “Nah nah nah nah, I don’t think so. C’mon sugar, let’s go find something for you to eat.” “I’ll come with you, it won’t be so scary.” <3 <3 <3!!!!!!
So eventually my interest in him could not be considered solely academic any longer ^^;;;
So yeah, Souda-Pop, Teru Chan, and Nagito are my main polycule. I adore them. But this post is a novel as it is, so I’ll make a post just for them to continue gushing ^^

Mistaken Identities
AU: Pokemon Au
Words: 1373
Rating: General
Pairings: Hatake Kakashi/Maito Gai, Hatake Sakumo/Maito Dai
Warnings: None
Summary: Kakashi and Gai pay a visit to the Pewter city for a nice relaxing night, only to have the Pokemon Center nurse mistake them for far more embarrassing people.
Getting a vacation when you were a Gym leader was no easy task. There was paperwork, approvals, replacements. The number of letters and approvals he had to deal with alone had earned him an entire week of relaxing.
After all of the work he had put in just to get a week off, he deserved to rest. Maybe find a nice beach somewhere and enjoy the sun or a show at celedone city gym. Anko always put on an amazing show with her poison pokemon.
Instead of doing either of those things, though, he was in veridian forest.
Training.
Because apparently, he didn’t have the willpower to say ‘no’ to his boyfriend when he decided to turn their one-week vacation into a boot camp.
Now he was tired, desperate for a good meal and a comfortable bed, and questioning all of the choices he had made in his life that led him to this moment. He might even question his choice in dating Gai in the first place, but then he’d see that bright smile and hear that enthusiastic voice boasting about all of the things they had accomplished today, and he knew.
There was no other choice to be made.
“Tomorrow we’ll have to work harder!” Gai declared as they stepped into the pokemon center. “We can do five hundred push-ups with our pokemon, and an obstacle course around the forest.”
Delightful. He couldn’t wait.
Stepping up to the counter, he took his Pokeball’s off of his belt and placed them down for the nurse while Jolteon sat down by his feet.
“Please tell me there’s a room available,” He was pretty sure just looking at him told a whole story of his day. With leaves still stuck in his hair, and at least a few sing marks on his clothes from his pokemon’s electric attacks. There was even a nice bruise on his cheek where Jolteon had managed to tackle him during one of Gai’s more rough training sessions. “Please. I beg of you. If you say no he’s going to make me sleep in a sleeping bag and I cannot.”
He was spoiled. Having a beautiful room at his gym with a comfortable bed. If there was one thing he didn’t miss about traveling the world it was sleeping in a tent out in the cold.
“I-I have a room,” the nurse chuckled, clearly amused at the situation in front of her. “You won’t have to sleep under the stars tonight, I promise.’
Oh, thank Arceus.
“You act like I’m torturing you, Rival,” Gai grumbled behind him. “What’s so bad about sleeping under the stars? It’s good for the soul. Fresh air and some peace and quiet.”
“I am not giving up a comfy bed for fresh air. I can open the window if I want some of that,” picking up Jolteon’s Pokeball, he turned towards his partner. “See you in the morning.” Jolteon cried out, her way of saying ‘goodbye’ before she disappeared into her Pokeball.
“You’re such a drama king,” Gai sighed, finally stepping up and placing his Pokeball down beside Kakashi’s. “It was a good day of training.”
“Training?” The nurse tilted her head, a small smile on her face that made Kakashi uneasy for some reason. “Is that why no one saw you today?”
“We just got into town until just now,” Gai argued. “How could anyone have seen us before today?”
Her smile faded, a look of disappointment taking its place.
“Don’t lie to me,” holding out a finger she waved it between them. “Everyone has been talking about you two for the past three days. Everywhere we look you two are being adorable. Flirting, kissing, making love eyes at each other. There isn’t a person in the town who doesn’t know about you two.”
Kakashi could feel his soul leaving his body.
Why, of all the places in Kanto that they went, did his father have to come to Pewter city just before Kakashi and Gai made it? And to bring his boyfriend along with him and make a spectacle out of themselves?
Gai was always telling him he was overreacting. That his father wasn’t that embarrassing.
Lies. It was all lies.
He could practically feel Gai vibrating with laughter beside him, his shoulder bumping up against Kakashi’s playfully. “Nurse, I’m afraid you have the wrong people,” He stated, supporting Kakashi’s denial of the things they were being accused of. “My boyfriend and I really did just get into town. What you saw was-”
Reaching out, she poked Gai on the nose. Effectively cutting off the rest of his sentence. “I wasn’t born yesterday, you know,” She scolded him. “Just because you shaved off your mustache and he cut his hair and decided to wear a mask today doesn’t mean I don’t recognize you two. You look exactly the same in every other way.”
Rude.
He did not look like a fifty-year-old man. There were no wrinkles under his eyes or back pain to show his age. He was in his prime. A young man. He wouldn’t say it out loud, or Gai would never let him live it down, but he was in the springtime of his youth damn it.
“Just admit it you two,” she huffed, air filling her cheeks. “It’s not even that embarrassing. You were just being adorable. The whole town was loving it.”
The next time he saw their father’s, he was going to have Jolteon zap them. Maybe then they’d stop making fools out of themselves and dragging Kakashi and Gai down with them.
“You’re not zapping them,” Gai scolded him, clearly already knowing what was on his mind. “Jolteon wouldn’t even obey that order. She likes your father too much.”
“Maybe if I give her treats,” it wouldn’t work, of course. Gai was right. Jolteon was a sucker for his dad and she’d probably just drop onto her back for some belly rubs instead. The little traitor. “Oh, what if I-”
“You’re not having Rockruff blast them with a stone edge.” Gai scolded him before he could even hope to finish his sentence.
“So…” Glancing back at the nurse, Kakashi narrowed his eyes and watched as she processed everything they had said. ‘Wait, those two actually weren’t you?”
Finally!
“No, they were not,” he groaned, stamping down on the celebration going on in his mind. He refused to act happy about the fact that the obvious had been picked up on. “They’re our dads.”
“Oh!” A smile cracked across her face. “Ok, weird, but Ok.”
With that out of the way, she collected their Pokeballs and carefully set them into separate trays for her Chansey to take away.
“Your Pokemon will be ready to go when you wake up in the morning,” she promised with a bright smile. “Relax, enjoy some food, and please try not to follow in your father’s footsteps. I don’t need to hear about another grossly adorable couple this week.”
Now all he could think of was being as completely, utterly, ridiculously adorable as possible with Gai.
Sure, it might ruin his reputation of being a stone-cold ruthless Gym leader, but it wasn’t like that reputation would last long anyways with his father running around the entire Kanto region making out with his boyfriend.
Honestly, he’s surprised anyone was still afraid of him. Surely his father had embarrassed him enough to turn him into the laughing stock of Kanto already.
“Come on, Rival,” feeling a hard slap on his back, Kakashi glanced back at Gai. A small smile pulling at his lips when he saw the proud toothy grin that his boyfriend was giving him. “We need lots of food and a good night’s rest if we’re going to start our morning with three hundred laps around the town.”
“Three hundred laps!?” Death. This was certain death.
Why had he fallen in love with a mad man? He had no real explanation for that. All he knew was that tonight he was going to get cuddles, and tomorrow he was going to complain the entire time that he was spending his vacation running laps around Pewter city instead of enjoying a show or relaxing on the beach.
The things he did for love.

Harry Potter Fic Rec List
I’ve practically been reading Harry Potter fics since I was out of the womb and unsurprisingly, I recently ran out and have been searching the web for stories that I haven’t yet read.
I figured that with all of my fanfiction knowledge, I should make a list like the ones that have helped me to find interesting and well written fics and so, I present to you a list with my favourite Harry Potter Fanfictions. Some are Classics, some are Muggle Au’s, but they’re all worth a read.
Gelosaþ in Écnesse by Batsutousai | Completed | 98.5k | Mature
Pairing: Salazar Slytherin/ Harry Potter
Summary: Caught in the backlash of Voldemort's Killing Curse, Harry is thrown through time to a world so very different from his own.
Notes: It’s a time travel fic! I have a special place in my heart for that trope and I love this one particularly. The pairing is one I’d never even seen before and at first, I was a bit sceptical at first but I was pleasantly surprised the way everyone interacted with each other and the amount of research that clearly went into this fic. In my experience, every work of Batsutousai’s is a good read.
Gray Skye Mourning by KneazleGriff | Completed | 183.4k | Mature
Pairing: Severus Snape/ Harry Potter
Summary: As Severus Snape lay dying on the filthy floor of the Shrieking Shack, bleeding in the arms of Harry Potter, a profound, devastating realization awakens a long lost love, latent for years, torn asunder by time’s cruel fate. Is love strong enough to overcome the pain of the past and ensure severus’ survival? Time-Travel fic. SSHP
Notes: Okay, I know the summary is kind of cheesy but this fic is fantastic. It explains why Snape was such an ass in canon and it’s really touching. It’s a very emotional fic. There are a few smutty scenes so you’ll want to make sure you’re okay with reading that. Also SSHP fics that I enjoy are pretty rare since I usually steer clear of Teacher-student relationships as well as Minor-Adult relationships.(Part of why I love time travel fics so much)
Zubats, Zubats Everywhere by RenderedReversed | WIP | 16.8k | Teen and Up
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Tom Riddle
Summary: In which Harry is pretty sure his Pokémon journey isn’t supposed to have such a copious amount of Zubats—or just the figurative one, since Arceus knows Tom Riddle pops up in his life often enough to be a Zubat in disguise.
Notes: This fic is adorable. They have Pokemon Pet names, they buy each other stuffed animals and accidental stalking? It’s more of a Oneshot Collection than a continuous fic but don’t let that stop you. Comedy, Fluff and Harry Potter. What else could you need?
Away Childish Things by lettered | Completed | 153.8k | Teen and Up
Pairing: Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter
Summary: Harry gets de-aged. Malfoy has to help him.
Notes: This fic. The way lettered handled the whole ‘people from the wizarding world find out about Harry’s home life’ amazingly. The characterization of the characters, their younger selves and their opinions of themselves is just... *Chef’s kiss*. I’ve read this one over and over and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived by Santi | WIP | 147.7k | Mature
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Female OC
Summary: Harry Potter loves, and is loved by, his parents, his godfather, and his brother. He isn’t mistreated, abused, or neglected. So why is he a Dark Wizard? NonBWL!Harry. Not your typical Harry’s brother is the Boy Who Lived story.
Notes: One of the only ‘Wrong boy who lived’ Fics I’ve enjoyed. Technically, Harry twin brother is the actual BWL so it’s not exactly the wrong one. This Harry is very OOC, keeping only his name and his physical features. His twin brother is really more ‘Harry Potter’ Personality-wise. Despite all of this, I absolutely loved this fic. The way Durmstrang operates is amazing and much better than Hogwarts.
The Spellmaker by SonnyGietzel | WIP | 166.7k | Mature
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Tom Riddle | Voldemort
Summary: Latin; a dead language with no practical applications except perhaps the deciphering of old texts and as a particularly quaint party trick.Thankfully, as Harry finds out, Latin is not as dead as he was first taught when he decided to learn the language. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, of course; he loved Latin, and would have been proud to know it even had it been as useless as it was pretty. But in the world of Wizards, the world of Magic, Harry realizes his rare talent with words is particularly valuable, and allows him to use magic that no one's ever heard of, that no one's ever seen. But as time goes on, and he becomes more and more entangled in the webs spun by those around him, he starts to realize just how deep the magical rabbit hole goes and how dangerous power like his can be.All Harry had ever wanted was for the world to make sense.
Notes: Latin? Hell yeah! Harry’s spell casting by knowing latin and understanding science is so cool. Plus I just really love the librarian. It’s still updating too so you’re not just torturing yourself for the sake of entertainment if you read it,
SCHOOLED by WyrdSmith | WIP | 113.6k | Explicit
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Tom Riddle
Summary: 7th Year Gryffindors learn why it is never a good idea to piss off Ravenclaw Hadrian Morgan. His payback during Professor Slytherin's class is BEAUTIFUL. In carrying it out, orphaned pureblood Hadrian catches the interest and libido of the present Lord Marvolo Slytherin, who -- with the assistance of the entire Slytherin student body as well as a few other surprising characters -- tries to lure Morgan into his life and his bed. But just how naive is Hadrian Morgan, really?1945-era mash-up of most major and minor characters of HP and other fandoms, as well as historical characters. [WAIT, PLEASE! .... ahem.... If you just heard a mental screech of brakes, please understand that this is not a farce, nor crack, nor crap. This has many reviews from now-devoted readers who almost bypassed it, but are now glad they accepted the dare to just try chapter one.]
Notes: My opinion on this fic is complicated. It’s brilliantly written. Harry is witty, sneaky and ruthless and I just love him. Tom is just a lil bit predatory. You should definitely give it a read because it’s awesome, just make sure to properly read the tags and the summary first.
Time to Put Your Galleons Where Your Mouth Is by Tsume Yuki | Completed | 46.3k | Teen and Up
Pairing: None
Summary: Harry had never been able to comprehend a sibling relationship before, but he always thought he'd be great at it. Until, as Master of Death, he's reborn one Turais Rigel Black, older brother to Sirius and Regulus. (Rebirth/time travel and Master of Death Harry)
Notes: I love this. I love this so much. Harry is so great To Sirius and Regulus. He may be a bit OP but he’s honestly just a king in every single way other than literally. This was an amazing read and a great change from the more romance-centric fics that usually catch my eye.
Kudosed, Bookmarked, Subscribed by maquira | WIP | 49.6k | Explicit
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Tom Riddle | Voldemort
Summary: By day, Harry works as a lowly assistant to his boss: the cruel, controlling Tom Riddle.By night, he lives, breathes, and writes fanfiction. And when he's not writing, he's obsessing over the work of his favorite Ao3 author: Lord_Voldemort_.So, of course, it’s only a matter of time before Harry gets caught reading Voldemort’s latest fanfiction at work… by none other than his boss.
Notes: I know it’s Harry Potter and the nearly everything about the books has to do with magic but Muggle Au’s are my guilty pleasure. Pair that with maquira’s beautiful writing and I’m hooked. Really, check out any of maquira’s other fics, they’re all just as good.
Let’s Start the Show by Terrific Lunacy | WIP | 29.9k | Mature
Pairing: Kind of Harry Potter/ Tom Riddle
Summary: It started as a game. When two highborn lords come looking for a distraction from boredom, they merge the worlds of the highest class with those of the lowest class. An invitation sets things in motion that were supposed to stay locked away. Because a kingdom on the verge of collapse, a noble without a past and a circus performer with a secret are not a good combination.
Notes: Something about this fic just captivated me when I first read it. It still does, really. I love the plot, I love Harry’s cheek and you’ll love it too.
Dreams and Darkness Collide by Epic Solemnity | WIP | 209.5k | Mature
Pairing: Harry Potter/Voldemort
Summary: Though he was raised without the expectation of saving the world, Harry still possesses a savior complex. Only, it's so dark and twistedly immoral, he created an alter ego to practice vigilantism. His second identity makes a name for himself and immediately ensnares Minister Riddle's complete and obsessive attention. A game of cat and mouse begins and morals are questioned.
Notes: I’ve read this so many times I could probably recite it by heart but I could still read it a thousand more times.
My Name is Cameron Sage by thesewarmstars | Completed | 41.8k | Explicit
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Severus Snape
Summary: Things are going poorly for the side of the light, and in a last-ditch effort to fulfill his destiny, Harry goes back in time to try again.
Notes: Another Time travel fic! A particularly smutty one but Sevvy has a friend for once in his life and they’re so sarcastic but they’re also really sweet.
Consuming Shadows by Child_OTKW | WIP | 312.2k | Mature
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Voldemort, Harry Potter/ Male OC
Summary: On the night of the attack, Lily managed to escape with her infant son, but at the cost of her husband’s life. Distraught and distrusting of her friends, she fled to France with Harry, to raise him away from the corruption in Britain and the rising influence of the Dark Lord. She trains him to the best of her abilities, shaping him into a dangerous, intelligent and powerful wizard. But when Britain re-establishes the Triwizard Tournament, and Harry is forced to return to his once-home, he finds himself questioning whether he really wants to kill the Dark Lord. Voldemort finds an unexpected challenge in the child, and as his intrigue and amusement grows, so too does the desire to possess the spark in those defiant green eyes.
Notes: Harry attending foreign schools is also a favourite trope of mine. I love the different interpretations of different wizarding schools. Bonus points if he visits Hogwarts to attend or participate in the Triwizard Tournament.
To be Set Free by Merrinpippy | Completed | 35.8k | Teen and Up
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Tom Riddle
Summary: Harry Potter, raised and abused by the Dursleys ever since his parents died, lives in the cupboard under the stairs. He has no friends or family who love him and his life is dull until one day a letter arrives arrives for him, written in green ink, that promises freedom. Sounds familiar, right?King Thomas Riddle's illness combined with his political paranoia pushes him to arrange three royal balls, after which his son, Prince Tom Riddle, must choose a guest to marry, thereby securing the kingdom's future and solidifying their strength in the eyes of their allies/enemies. Tom is convinced that he will be able to defy his father and choose no-one, or at least he is until at the first ball he meets an attractive stranger with dark hair and glasses who won't tell anyone his name...
Notes: Fairytale Au’s are magical and this fic just proves it. You barely even need to put a spin on cinderella to fit Harry into his role in the story, which is sad but also absolutely perfect.
Azoth by zeigeistic | Completed | 88.7k | Explicit
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Draco Malfoy
Summary: Now that Harry is back at Hogwarts with Hermione for eighth year, he realises that something’s missing from his life, and it either has to do with Ron, his boggart, Snape, or Malfoy. Furthermore, what, exactly, does it mean when one’s life is defined by the desire to simultaneously impress and annoy a portrait? Harry has no idea; he’s too busy trying not to be in love with Malfoy to care.
Notes: Portrait Snape. That’s it. That’s all I have to say.
Death of Today by Epic Solemnity | Completed | 500.8k | Mature
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Voldemort
Summary: Raised in a Muggle orphanage, Harry arrives at Hogwarts a bitter boy. Unusually intelligent, he's recruited by the Unspeakables and the Death Eaters at a young age. As he grows older, he constantly has to struggle to keep his footing around a manipulative and bored Dark Lord, who fancies mind games and intellectual entertainment.
Notes: In all honesty, I don’t have much to add. Epic Solemnity is a fantastic author though so make sure to check out their other works.
Hermione Granger’s Hogwarts Crammer for Delinquents on the Run by waspabi | Completed | 93.3k | Teen and Up
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Draco Malfoy
Summary: 'You're a wizard, Harry' is easier to hear from a half-giant when you're eleven, rather than from some kids on a tube platform when you're seventeen and late for work.
Notes: I live for this Au. I would give my right hand and make quite a few human sacrifices for a sequel to this story.
Rebirth by Athey | WIP | 269.7k | Mature
Pairing: Harry Potter/ Tom Riddle
Summary: Two boys grow up together in an orphanage, grow powerful at school, are torn apart by death and brought back together by rebirth. Horcruxes aren't the only way to live forever. Necromancy, reincarnation, TR/HP Slash dark!Harry.
Notes: Ah, reincarnation. I always figured that Harry’s type of immortality would be much more interesting than tom’s in this story. A little bit of smut near the end there so you might want to watch out for that.

OKAY SO
Human!Arceus comes in with Bby!Raihan (not actually baby Raihan, but Raihan who isn’t a gym leader yet for Galar) and sets him in the chair opposite of Lance.
“Who, what, where?” Lance ask’s I’m so much confusion, but Head Council Ace (Human!Arceus) ignores him.
“I need to train Raihan here.” He states, patting poor scared Raihans bony shoulders and fucking leaves.
Lance is immediately like “am I getting fired!?! Can they fire me!?!?!” But he’s calm when he faces Bby!Raihan. Who’s fidgeting up a storm because he’s in his idols presents!!!
“What’s your typing?”
“Dragon”
Lance: well S H I T
So Lance starts training Raihan, and if he drags the other Dragon type gym leaders/Elite Four into it than that’s his choice, and while he’s there Raihan meets Bby! Red and Bby!Gold who are now Champions of Kanto and Johto respectfully.
So that’s also a reason why Ace gave Raihan to Lance so the Elite Four member could train the kid. Lance doesn’t know what to do with his time now because he’s so used to 4x’s the paper work for being both an Elite and the Champions of the two neighboring Regions.
And where ever Red and Gold go, the gang follows.
Raihan ends up meeting Silver, Crystal, Green, Daisy, Yellow, and OFC actual Baby Ash and Gary. He also meets their parents and Delia was so close to adopting Raihan into the family because the boy didn’t have his on family since his dad was apparently to “busy” to come and raise his son and Raihans mother died during child birth.
So he comes back every summer to train before going back to Galar for the next five years, then the next five is to just hang out and rant about the Galar League and have fun.
Idk about age so far but here’s the final ages for a few of them.
Red - around late 29 to early 30
Green - same as Red
Gold - 26 to 27
Silver - 25 to 26
Crystal - 27 + 5 months on Gold
Ash - around 23 to 25
Gary - same as Ash + the 6 Months he has on him
Raihan: - around very early 25 to very late 27
Daisy - 35 to 40, she just needs to be a few years older than Green and Red
Lance - around 50 to 60, but he’s emotionally an 80 Y/O with his wisdom and what he had to put up with the Ketchum/Oak kids and the other National Poké Dexers
Delia - 50 to 57 she’s needs to be older than Daisy, but younger than Lance
Ace - he’s fucking Arceus, does it look like I know his fucking age!?
Lance soon finds out that, No, Raihan isn’t immediately replacing him and that he’s being trained in stead because the current Galar gym leader at that time was finally sub-coming to her Cancer. So Lance was the next option because he’s been the longest Dragon trainer in the league after her.
(Hint at that Immediately??)
Over time Raihan soon sees that the other Gym leaders are drawing away from him, Chairman Rose and Oleana are now piling more and more paper work onto him, and now Leon and Sonia are now avoiding him at all costs.
(I haven’t figured out a reason why just yet, but I’ll get there)
And now Raihan goes to the council, because he can’t go to Rose because he knows how absolutely shitty he is about complaints and other things, and begs them not to actively search Rose until the Council is done with their search of evidence.
Unbeknownst, Ace has been gathering shit on Rose for Years now. So he uses this as a chance to freak the head chairman out.
So Ace scheduled for him, a few other Council Members, Lance, Gold, and Red to come to the next beginning League ceremony for the start of the Season. Now Chairman Rose is internally freaking the FUCK out because he has council members and the three most terrifying International league members coming to watch the Galar League opening ceremony.
( Ace also starts hounding Lance, who’s hair is now mostly grey now with red streaks, to start looking for people so he can retire. Because Alder’s position got taken by Black and Both Alder and Drayden are wait patiently for Lance.)
(( and if Ace also can get Raihan to take both Lance’s Elite position, while also Raihan being closer to Ash and the found Family that’s been yearning for the dragon tamer to join them permanently - via marrying Ash finally - then that’s Ace’s second main secret ))
Rose sticks them down with the other gym leaders because he doesn’t want to sit near the council members or other league members. But that also means he gives them a great chance at “talking” (more like interrogating) the Galar gym leaders
And they find out that they have been distancing Raihan for multiple reasons that are pretty fucking weak. Ace pulls Raihan aside and gets the full sob story and then gently asks if Raihan would like to move to the Kanto League, which has grown substantially stronger with Red, Gold, and Ash at the helm of those Regions.
And Raihan subconsciously melts at the thought of being closer to his found Family and his Ash. He answers hesitantly that if they have a position, than Raihan would sign all the paper work today and that he already has several people ready to defend the Vault in his stead. Raihan then gets pulled away by a very nervous assistant that says it’s time for the final battle with Leon.
Ace joins up with the others and starts to casually grill Lance that Raihan would be the best person to fill his two Elit spots.
“What!?” Lance looks shocked at that thought. And Ace tries not to laugh at his God-nephew face.
“You and the rest of the Dragon Tamers trained him. And I also noticed how you subconsciously trained him to take an elite four position instead of a gym leader one.”
“That - that doesn’t mean anything!”
“Everyone that he needs to know has already met him and like him. Unlike the others you’ve found where they don’t like several people in the line up.”
“S-so!?”
“Lance, look at him! His own Gym uniform is styled after your outfit! He fits well with everyone, and is just as strong-if not stronger than you. He’s completely perfect to take over your position.”
“...”
“Hell! Chairman Rose is already pushing most of Leon’s Champion paperwork onto him, creating just the same amount-if not, again, more paperwork than your two positions.”
“I... do see your point.”
“So?”
“...”
“Lance. I’m not talking to you as the Head Council, your Boss, or an equal League member at this point. I’m talking to you as a concerned family member an as your God Father. It’s time for you to rest, Your Husbands are waiting for you and you’ve denied yourself this for a longer time than absolute necessary.”
“But the kids-“
“-they can come to you! You are still there! Available when they need help or an answer only you know.”
“I don’t want to spring this on Raihan though.”
“And we don’t have to. You can still train him as we bring in another gym leader, I’ve been gunning to put a bug gym leader in Galar anyways.”
“But-“
“Lance, Watashi no musuko. Stop making excuses, the future generation of League members are here. Right in front of your face. Just like when you first came Champion of Kanto and the rest son followed after you. You’ve been Champion of Kanto for over 30 years, Johto’s Champion for over 25 years, and Elite four for both for over 28 years.”
“...”
“Watashi no musuko. It’s time to rest.”
“...”
“Okay?”
“Okay, I’ll train him.”
“Good. Thank you.”
“Thanks for telling me to cut my shit.”
“I’m not the only one, Delia will hound you now more than ever to come to the family dinners.”
“Ugh! Don’t remind me!!!”
It all boils down to Raihan getting moved over to the Kanto Elite four under Red and finally start dating Ash. Chairman Rose gets taken down and Raihan is now allowed to heal.

Idk this thought has been plaguing my thoughts for the last couple of days and I just had to wright this all out.
I think I’m calling this the Replacement!AU

Ok here it is my Bumbleby Pokemon AU! I’ll be posting on Ao3 if you prefer to read there, should be a link on my page lol. Couple things, I did put some cheesy, cringey lines in cause why not, its based more on the TV show fights, yes Arcanine has 5 moves shhhh and also I know its Ember Celica but I’ve always pronounced it Cecelia and just found out I was wrong but Cecelia sounds better for a Pokemon lol. Anyways enjoy!
TW - Minor verbal abuse, Pokemon fighting
Ugh Tumblr mobile took out the keep reading sorry :/
"Give those Pokémon back!" Yang yelled at the team Plasma grunts. Her Arcanine, Cecelia growled beside her. Team Plasma had stolen multiple Pokémon out of the centre and what they planned to do with them she didn't want to think about.
"Hmph make me," the leader of the squad scoffed back at her, his voice echoing around the warehouse. His bright red hair was a stark contrast to the white mask he wore over his eyes and unlike other members of the team he didn’t cover his mouth, so his sinister smile was clear to see as he smirked down at Yang, riling her up even more.
"I don't have time for a runt like you. Deal with her." He waved a hand behind him and one of his subordinates stepped up beside him. She wore the same black and grey outfit that the rest of team Plasma had but without the beret. The lower half of her face was covered by the typical black bandana and, even though she was up on a container, Yang noticed a look of hesitance in her eyes.
"Adam this is -"
"Enough!" The leader, Adam, shouted and the girl flinched. "Do as you’re told and don't mess up." She nodded meekly and he turned around, his long trench coat sweeping behind him. He jumped off the large shipping container they had been standing on and motioned the rest of the grunts to follow out the back, the boxes of poke balls with them.
"Hey wait!" Yang stepped forward but the grunt who had been with him deftly leapt off the crate as well and stood in her way, poke ball already in hand. Yang scowled and Cecelia raised her hackles, moving in front of her protectively.
“Step aside, they’re getting away!” Yang yelled at her.
The grunt rolled her eyes saying, “Yeah that’s kinda the point.” This just made Yang even angrier but even with her heated blood she couldn’t help noticing how beautiful the girl looked, her silky black hair and lithe form…if they weren’t on opposite sides, she would be just her type.
Yang shook her head, she needed to focus, innocent Pokémon were being taken. “Alright if that’s how you want to play it, Cecelia, time to get fired up!” Yang took a couple large strides back, leaving enough space between the two girls to have a proper battle. Cecelia barked at the familiar command and got into a stance low to the ground ready to pounce at Yang’s word.
The Plasma girl raised her arm back and threw her poke ball like she was pitching in baseball, letting it fly in a high arc. “Come out of the shadows, Shroud!” The ball burst open in a could of black and an Umbreon appeared in the smoke with its shrill cry.
Yang could feel her excitement rise. This girl wasn’t the usual type of Plasma grunt, she clearly had proper skills. This was going to be a good fight.
“Before we start, what’s your name!” Yang called out. The girl looked confused but replied.
“Blake, my names Blake. Why?”
“Oh, I just like knowing the names of my opponents before I crush them.” Yang grinned wildly as she said that, feeling the excitement really starting to build. Blake just narrowed her eyes and the two stared at each other. Both Pokémon were ready to go, shifting with anticipation for the fight to come but the trainers were playing chicken seeing who would flinch first.
After what felt like an eternity it was Yang who pulled the trigger. “Enough waiting, Cecelia lets get the show on the road, use fire fang!” The Arcanine didn’t miss a beat and charged at Umbreon, roaring as flames spilled from her mouth.
Instead of panicking like most of the Plasma grunts did when they saw a flaming beast running toward their Pokémon, Blake stayed calm and easily instructed her Umbreon. “Shroud dodge, then use shadow ball.” Shroud bent her legs, quickly tensing her muscles before leaping into the air, easily dodging the larger creature and while at the height of her jump focused a black ball of moving energy in front of its circular mark on its forehead and then she flicked her head to the side launching the ball at Cecelia.
“Look out!” Yang cried, but there was little she could do as her Arcanine didn’t have time to stop herself, the forward momentum from her charge was too much and the shadow ball was a direct hit. Cecelia yelped in pain as she went slamming onto her side and growled in anger glaring at Shroud who had landed neatly looking down at the other Pokémon with a completely neutral face.
“Do you always charge in without a plan?” Blake asked, and even though Yang couldn’t see her mouth she knew she was smirking at her rookie mistake. She had gotten complacent facing off against weaker opponents, she thought gritting her teeth.
Yang huffed but grinned again. “Heh, I’m just getting started. Ce! You good?” She called out to her Pokémon who jumped back up, ready to fight with a bark, letting her now she was fine. Yang nodded. “Alright then, you want to see some proper moves, try this on for size!” She pointed up at the many shipping containers surrounding them, making sure Cecelia was following her finger. “Double team!”
Through the many years they had been together Cecelia knew exactly what she wanted her to do and leapt up onto the crate to her left before her body started shimmering and suddenly there were at least twenty Arcanines standing around the two opponents. Blake glanced up worried at the sudden number of enemies but regained her composure.
“They aren’t all real Shroud! Use dark pulse, weed out the physical one!” Yang gave a cocky grin at Blakes command. Just what she had hoped for, a stationary attack.
“You know the drill Ce! Extreme speed!” Blakes eyes widened but like Yang earlier could do nothing now, it was up to Shroud.
The two Pokémon began their attacks. Multiple forms of Cecelia charged for Shroud at a daunting speed as Shroud desperately tried to keep up, firing a beam of dark energy from her symbol but it wasn’t enough. Some of the fake forms started hitting her and she flinched at them expecting it to be the real deal.
“Keep it up Shroud, you’ll get her eventually!” Blake shouted out words of encouragement, but it wouldn’t be enough as the real Cecelia finally crashed into Shroud while she had been blasting another one. Shroud went tumbling and slammed into one of the containers with a yelp, landing on her side.
“Shroud!” Blake cried out, desperation in her voice. Yang was surprised by the fact she actually cared for her Pokémon. For a group wanting to free all Pokémon they were usually cold hearted toward their own. She really was very different from the other grunts, but this was a battle non the less.
“Let’s finish this Cecelia, flare blitz!” Cecelia’s mouth split into a fiery grin and she roared before charging at Shroud again. Her mane and tail erupted into even larger flames that practically engulfed her whole body and a stream of flames trailed after her as she ran for Shroud. Blake didn’t seem to care though. Maybe Yang had been wrong about her.
“Shroud, feint attack now!” Yang swore as she realised Blakes strategy. She played right into her hands, again. It was too late to call Cecelia off and she watched in horror as her beloved Arcanine went through a fake Umbreon. Cecelia turned her head eyes wide as she looked behind her to Shroud who didn’t even finish the attack, it wasn’t needed. Cecelia rammed into the metal container that Shroud had herself hit seconds before.
“Cecelia no!” Yang took a step forward as her Pokémon fell to the ground seemingly unconscious but after a few tense seconds flames burst out from around Cecelia and her brave Arcanine stood back up roaring in defiance. She looked rough but was not going to stand down, not when Pokémon’s lives were on the line.
“How – how is she standing?” Blake stuttered out, surprised at the Arcanines resilience. Even her Umbreon took a step back in shock.
“She’s standing because Cecelia knows what you guys are doing is wrong. She knows that taking Pokémon away from their loving trainers and shipping them off to Arceus knows where is wrong! I don’t know what lies that guy has been feeding you, but most trainers love their Pokémon and vice versa.” Yang gestured toward Cecelia and continued, feeling her emotions welling up. “We’re a team and if someone stole her away from me…I don’t know how I’d cope!”
Blake cast her gaze away, a grimace on her mouth and confliction in her eyes. She looked toward Should who turned her head toward her waiting for her next move to be given and Blakes brow furrowed. She looked back up at Yang her eyes glistening. “I have to do this!” She shouted balling her hands into fists. “Shroud, dark pulse again!” The Pokémon hesitated for a moment, not used to so much emotion in her trainer’s voice while in battle but quickly complied and turned back, focusing her energy in the centre of her forehead once again.
“Ce, give it all you got, flamethrower!” Cecelia roared in compliance and through her head back building up the fire in her mouth, some spilling out the side like water.
The two Pokémon let rip at the same time and the moves clashed in an explosion in the middle of their makeshift arena. The blast energy to ripple back and Yang threw her arm over her face to protect it from embers as the two beasts clashed, neither one wanting to give up. Both trainers shouted words of encouragement over the noise of competing powers and the beams blew back and forth, fighting for dominance, until there was a massive explosion as one of the two won out.
Smoke billowed everywhere and the two girls coughed as the cloud swept over them. Each girl anxiously waited for the smoke screen to clear. As it dissipated, Yang could feel the sweat on her brow and felt how hard her heart was beating. It had been a long time since she had a battle like this.
Now that most of the smoke was gone Yang could see the familiar orange glow of her Pokémon through the cloud, like a beacon in the night. “Yes, Cecelia you did it!” Yang ran to her Pokémon the smoke now only pooling around their feet giving them all a clear view of the winner and loser. Shroud was knocked out on the ground and Blake rushed to her side, skidding to her knees.
“Shroud no…” she whispered and picked up her small Pokémon cuddling her to her chest. Yang gave Cecelia a massive hug, the flames not burning her as Cecelia could choose who they hurt. Cecelia was always so warm and fluffy, she always lifted Yang’s spirits. Letting go she swung her backpack around and pulled out a hyper potion and sprayed it over Cecelia. It would be a few minutes before she was back to full health and she would wait until she was all better before moving on.
Leaving Cecelia to heal up she walked over to Blake who now had Shroud lying in her lap, stroking her head gentle.
“Here,” Yang said and dipped her hand in her bag pulling out a revive and a hyper potion and offering it to Blake. Blake looked up utterly confused and Yang gave her a soft smile.
“You’re not like the others. I could see that even before the battle. You actually care about your Pokémon and I know you probably thought that’s what those Plasma guys were doing.” Blake looked at her sceptically but took the items, once again proving she cares more for her Umbreon then she does her personal thoughts.
“What do you want then. You won and are now, what, pitying me? I appreciate the items, but I don’t know what you want.” Blake applied the medicines while she talked, and Shroud slowly opened her eyes blinking and gave a little yawn. Blake pulled down her bandana, letting it hang around her neck and lent over to give Shroud a kiss on the head and Shroud started purring and nuzzling into her. Blake gave a small smile at that and Yang was stunned at just how pretty she was now the bandana was down, but that was just one of the reasons for her offer.
“I want you to come with me. Help get those Pokémon back to trainers who love them just as much as you love your Umbreon.” Yang knelt down on one knee to be closer to Blake and the two were inches apart. “I know you want to do the right thing.” Blake looked at her wide eyed.
“I – I can’t Adam would -”
“Hey, don’t worry about that Adam guy.” Yang said reaching out and put her hand over Blakes, the one that was petting Shroud. “If we do this, we’re in it together and I’ll help you with him. He did seem like an ass, to be honest.” Yang shrugged while saying the last comment and Blake laughed sharply.
“Yeah you could say that again.” Blake looked down at Shroud again, she was cuddling into her and a few seconds of deliberation was all it took. She gently laid Shroud on the ground and stood up. Yang followed suit an eyebrow raised. At the movement Cecelia, now fully healed, bounded over and pushed her head under Yang’s hand, looking for rubs which Yang gave absentmindedly, currently focused on Blake.
Blake stood in front of Yang then stuck out her hand. “Ok Yang, I’ll come with you and help you take down team Plasma.” Yang cracked a huge smile and grabbed her hand giving it an enthusiastic shake.
“Thank you.” Yang said and her smile became a little smaller, a more personal one and she swore Blake blushed. Yang let go of Blakes hand and moved toward the exit Adam and the rest had left earlier. “Come on, we gotta catch up to them!” Yang called back to Blake, who went to catch up, both Pokemon trotting along as well.
“We’re facing him now!” She asked in shock.
“No, don’t worry the big boss usually leaves before I reach my current goal so don’t worry.” Blake sighed with relief.
“But I do hope you’re ready to beat these guys to a ‘Plasma’,” Yang said smirking to herself. Blake blinked and turned blank faced to her.
“Was, was that supposed to be a pun?”
“Haha, I see you do know the legendary art,” Yang said winking and Blake groaned rolling her eyes but Yang saw the small smile creeping its way on to Blakes face and she knew they were going to get on just fine.

Lonashipping Week Prompt #1: Forbidden Romance: The Enforcer and the Beast
So, this takes place in an AU within an AU (i.e. sticking with the plot of champion of the stars because… I got no other ideas…) So, there may be some spoiler material for future parts and even volumes in here. That and most of this could be said to be a Darling in the Franxx AU, but there aren’t really any code numbers, Franxx, and this is just regular Alola or stuff. But without further ado, on with the show!
 The Beast and the Enforcer
Prelude
This is a story of how a monster became human. Although it was a brief time for her, it was something she could never forget. Before he gave her the world, the only world she knew was filled with restless despair and abandonment. A closed isolated world that never expanded outside the walls. Not even light could manage to seep through the cracks. That place back then was the entirety of my world.
That place was the entirety of my world before I decided to break free from it. Aether Paradise. A place where I felt myself slowly die. A place where nearly all my questions were scoffed and shoved to the side by all who worked there. Where me and my sister were considered dolls toward our mother. That was until she appeared. That was where my story began.
To this day I had never forgotten…
To this day I had forgotten everything…
When I first saw light escaping from that room…
When I laid my eyes at the darkness…
At the boy who reached his hand...
At the girl who cowered in fear…
How he pulled me out from isolation…
 How warm her hand was…
And the time we spent together…
 Luma’s POV
Ever since the day that my father died, everything went downhill from there. I was treated as nothing more than a test subject. A monster in human skin. Even the Pokemon there got special treatment. Me? I would fight endless battles with Pokemon. If I won those battles, I would get a reward for it. And after that, I would be subjected to more testing and experiments that would concern Ultra Beasts and the only Pokemon I’ve had ever since I was little. One that I didn’t know that I had fused with as perfectly as the cell structure of graphene. I used to have someone visiting me. Who would feed me and tell me that things will be alright in the end. But she gave me two things that weren’t food; a picture book with various drawings, and my metal bracelet that was once given to me by one of my parents.
Shortly after however, I never saw her again. But I always kept those two things close to me. There was never a time where I would leave without them hidden under the huge black cloak that was given to be by the people who held me captive. Every time I looked at the colorful pictures from the little bit I could see from it in the darkness, it made me yearn for the world. I had always hoped that the world was something vast and comforting. Warm and Inviting to a monster like me who never understood anything… I was right… But I was also terribly naïve for my own good as I was subjected to yet another prison. I was an inmate. Lesser than that, I was just cargo.
 Gladion’s POV
Ever since the day our father disappeared, our mother tried to maintain a strong presence in front of me and my sister. However, she never told us what happened to him. Where he went. And why he left. I was the one always asking questions about him. Each day I would always ask my mother what happened to our father. The answer was always the same…
“He’s still here, son… Didn’t he wake you and Lillie up this morning?”
We were confused. Despite this, we ate that up. Thinking our father was still here in this island. Here in Alola. But I knew the truth from a conversation Wicke had with Faba.
“It’s a shame that Lady Lusamine is acting like this. The loss of her husband has really rattled her.”
“Hah. I will admit that the loss of Professor Mohn was indeed shocking, but you don’t see me crying. If anything, I’m getting sick of this side of Lusamine. If she isn’t going to take a stand at running this company like the president she is because of one person’s disappearance, then I’LL just have to stand up in her place!”
I told Lillie about it. The conversation that they had. All she did was shake her head and act as though she was in denial just as much as mom was. But deep down she must’ve known that dad wasn’t going to come back the way she hung around me or mother. Always thinking that one of us would be the next to disappear from her. The one thing that always peaked our spirits was when Wicke would let us go to the observatory and play with the Pokemon. Wicke took the two of us in the conservatory there like she usually would since Mother never let us step outside. But one day instead of playing family with a Cleffairy she had grown fond of since her early childhood, Lillie had curled herself into a ball and started crying with the same fairy Pokémon comforting her with a small whine.
 “Are you okay?”
“Do I… Stick out? I mean… everyone else is just working like normal. Even mom’s getting back to her research she and dad were working on. Everyone’s stopped talking about dad. It’s like her never existed. Did they… forget about him or something? I mean… I’m still sad about him. I just… Wanna see dad.”
I knew what she meant. About everyone being different than usual. That they stopped talking about father as if he never existed. It was almost frightening how fast they moved on. But even so, seeing Lillie the way she was. It made me feel as though I was just like everyone else. That I moved on. But I was far from the point of moving on. I wanted to know what happened to him. I wanted to know why he disappeared. What caused his disappearance. I wanted answers more than anything.
“You’re not the only one. I miss him too…”
 “R-Really?”
“When I heard Faba and Wicke talking, I didn’t know what to think. I thought they were just kidding at first. I looked everywhere for him, but I couldn’t find him. I even asked mom if she knew where he went. But she didn’t answer me.”
 “Oh…”
“But maybe… If he’s still here in Alola. Then maybe we can look for him on the islands. Like, maybe he could be waiting for us somewhere.”
 “But where?”
“Hmm… maybe… I know! Do you know that place where you and mom went to? Where you two danced in the rain?”
 “You mean near Po Town?”
“He could be waiting there! But we won’t know unless we look for him there!”
“But… is it really okay for us to leave? To look for him out there all by ourselves? Shouldn’t we at least tell mom where we’ll be going?”
“We can’t tell anyone about this! Especially mom!”
 “Uhh… I don’t know…”
“Wicke! What is the meaning of this!? Why in Arceus’ name are they doing in the observatory?!”
“What’s so bad about us being here?”
“Get out! Don’t think the both of you could do things as you please just because you’re the president’s children. I’ll be reporting this to Lusamine at once!”
“Faba that’s enough! They’re just children!”
 “Let’s go, Lillie.”
 “But where?”
“Doesn’t matter. Anywhere else but here.”
After that, Lillie and I walked out of the Observatory and back to the mansion where we lived. It was always like this. We would be scolded for playing around in the observatory with the other Pokemon. And we would be scolded more for asking questions about dad.
When I had enough of being isolated in this island, I would sneak onto a ferry while everyone was asleep. And only those who worked at night were wide awake, I would sneak into one of the ferries and go to either Ula’Ula Island or Akala Island to look around town every now and again. I would learn more about Pokémon and Trainers who battled along side them. How strong and resilient they were into proving who was the strongest among each other. That was what gave me hope back then. I even met one of those trainers who came all the way from Unova when we were on the main islands. He gave me a hoodie that was still too big for me back then and a Premier Ball, saying that that was my ticket to becoming a trainer. I kept the Poke ball in my room, but always put on the hoodie when I would be outside.
It didn’t matter where I went just as long it was anywhere but that island. Even if it was just a couple Pokémon battles on the street or I somehow scraped some cash to get a ticket for a battle royale at Royale Avenue and make and quickly make my way back onto a ferry toward Aether Paradise. But that night. That night was different.
“Stop causing me trouble you little wretch!”
 “Grrr… Grrr Rrrrr”
“Woah… is that… A girl? But why does she have…”
The girl struggled as a line of employees different from the ones in Aether Paradise blocked her path while a man was pulling her toward another ferry. Before I knew it, I needed to make my way home before anyone else knew that I was gone. But when I snuck into the ferry that lead to Aether Paradise, all the people from moments ago started boarding. I remember thinking that that was the ferry I was stowed away in was the wrong one. It was hard to tell whether I was boarding on the right one or not until the announcement would confirm the destination. I remember peaking from the cabin that I was in and seeing the girl struggling with that same man from before, who looked to have taken something of hers.
I remember seeing her face that first time. Her hair was as white as the feathers on a Pelipper, slightly covering her clouded blue eyes and her ears… However, her hair failed to cover what looked to be a set of horns just above her ears. She wore a tattered black cloak to cover her seemingly tiny frame. When I tried getting an even closer look at her, I noticed her hands were as black as the cloak she wore, if not darker and resembled sharp claws. By the time she got the item back, she curled herself into a ball and looked away from the man as he laughed and kicked her down. I noticed her looking up to my direction. I didn’t know what to do, so all I did was wave. I was too enamored by the girl to even be angry at the man who bullied her. The way she covered her mouth and smiled with her eyes as I held my finger to my mouth was kind of adorable back then… But at that moment I found it simply beautiful. It was almost like my heart was set aflame with every second my eyes stared down at her as we floated atop the dark brooding sea dimly lit by the moonlight.
I remember talking about her to Lillie the next day. About the girl with the horns. She didn’t believe me the first time and thought I was just making it all up. For a moment I thought it was all a dream. That I dreamt her up. That was until I realized something. That she was in the ferry from last night. So I decided to take Lillie with me and look for the girl. We had no idea where she would be. But decided to look in the secret labs a few floors down.
“She can’t be real, Gladion. People don’t have horns growing from their heads. And dark black claws or whatever.”
“She IS real! I saw her in the ferry on the way here! She’s got to be in here somewhere! And I’m gonna look down at the labs and find her!”
 “But-“
 *crash*
“Wh-What was that?! Gladion? Where are you going?!”
Running to the elevator and down to the labs, I tried finding the source to that loud bang. A little after that, I heard piercing screams of pain coming to a crescendo as I ran straight down the hallway to my left. By the time I got there, I looked out the window and saw the girl. She looked to be limp on the floor as Faba and a woman with black hair stood proudly as Faba’s Alakazam attacked her with what looked to be the Psychic move Psyshock as she tried to get up again, only for her to scream in pain as it was too much for her to bare. I stepped back in horror asking myself why they were doing this to her even though she had no way of fighting back. What were they trying to achieve in inflicting pain on her? What did they want from that girl? And why was she treated the way she was?
“What are you doing here, Gladion?”
Turning, I look up to see my mother with a blank look on her face. I looked back at the room where the girl was and back to my mother.
“Why is she being attacked like that?! Why are they just-“
“That’s none of your concern. You’re not even suppose to be here, Gladion-“
“Is this what you were working on since dad disappeared? Were you hurting people like her? Were you hurting the Pokemon?-“
“BE QUIET! I’VE HAD ENOUGH JUST BE QUIET!!”
 “M-Mom… I just…”
“How do you even know that that’s a girl… Gladion have you been sneaking off? You shouldn’t be roaming around the foundation nor outside this island like that.”
 “But what about Dad-“
“Stay in the mansion. That way you won’t mess up anything. Just like the horrible mistake you are…”
 “…”
After that, I stopped asking her anymore questions. All I did was quietly walk back to the elevator and waited in my room until night had fallen. Until no one was around the mansion or anywhere in the foundation to make my move. When I looked outside, I saw the man dragging the girl by her hood to the residential quarters across the mansion. When the man entered the building, I ran downstairs and tried to run outside. But as I was doing so, I heard the main door open and hid quickly along the stairs. From the sound of the talking, it was mother and that woman with Faba. It sounded like they were talking about us; Myself, Lillie, and the girl.
“I must say old friend, you have truly outdone yourself in finding the Prism Pokemon on your last trip here. Much less sealing it in one of its’ own Z Crystals.”
“It was a lot of challenging work, but it seems as though this one might be just the one we’re looking for. A Trainer fused with a legendary Pokemon. One that Strella will call their secret weapon upon Ultra Space. That way, once we get our hands on that world, then the Ultra Beasts will be all ours, Lusamine.”
“I’m not too keen on the idea of using children for research. Especially with how Strella had nearly fallen when you did such an experiment like this. Tell me, how did THAT go for you?”
“Oh, Lusamine. You’re so hung up on the past. I guess Mohn’s death really did do a number on you, you unfortunate thing… Come! Let us look forward to the future we have together in taking over that world. with Luma as our primary pawn, we’d practically have a part of both worlds at the palms of our hands. Besides, you have a collection to fill up, no?”
 “Indeed I do…”
I didn’t know what they meant back then, but that didn’t really matter to me now, what mattered to me was if that girl was alright. I opened the door as quickly as my arms could let me and ran to the residential quarters. Before I could get anywhere near it however, I waited until that man wasn’t anywhere near that building. It wasn’t too long until I noticed him walking out of the door with a bit of blood on his hands. It made me enraged. Even more so when he smiled at the sight of it clinging onto his hands as he went towards the mansion. But that anger grew to concern as I ran into the building and looked to see two rows of doors facing toward one another. I didn’t know which door she was behind, or if there were more like these ones. That was until I heard weeping.
It was quiet. Barely audible. But even so, I followed the sound straight ahead as I put on the sweatshirt and followed the sound. But each time I thought I felt like it was getting louder, I felt like I was getting colder than I did before. My footsteps weren’t doing anything more than just creating more sound that would drown out the crying. When I heard the weeping get closer however, I felt like she was able to hear me from her room and continued to silence herself. In a fit of desperation, I took a deep breath and spoke softly, but tried to make it audible for her to hear.
“Please tell me where you are.”
For a moment there was silence. I waited patiently until I could hear her. But instead of her voice, I heard knocking. Knocking that got louder and louder as I got up and searched for the right door. It was a tough search, but I found where the knocking might’ve been coming from. As I knocked back on the door in front of me, the knocking ceased and all I heard was a growl coming from the other side.
At that time, I never understood anything. That everything that happened here was for some special reason. That everything that happened to this girl was for a purpose that we had no idea would come to be something that we could barely understand even as we got older. But even so…
“I need you to get away from the door,” I spoke as I tried to open it, but to no avail. I wasn’t strong enough to break the lock. Nor did I even know that the door was locked to begin with. After a while, I saw the knob moving on its’ own thinking the girl behind it was trying to escape. But it didn’t do anything aside from wasting valuable time. There was nothing we could do. It was then that I realized that there had to have been a window somewhere in the building leading to her room. That although it would make a lot of noise, I would at least get her out of there. But as I was about to head out the door…
“What is that? Something’s shining over there…”
Upon closer inspection, the object on the ground appeared to have been a key. A key with a small label on it. but as I looked at the contents sprawled onto the paper, it turned to be a note.
 ‘This will make things easier…’
There was no recipient. Nor could I recognize the handwriting. But instead of inspecting the contents of the key, I got up from the ground and returned to the door. When I got there, I knocked on the door and heard a small growl coming from the other side.
“I’m coming in. Get away from the door.”
Inserting the key in the doorknob, I turned it slowly and heard a succession of clicks. When it was unlocked, I turned the knob of the door slowly. There, I saw the girl curled up at the wall across the door, growling escaping her mouth. It was obvious that she was scared. I was too. But not because of her appearance. Because I didn’t want her to fear me. Because I wanted her to be free. So I held out my hand and stayed by the door.
“It’s okay I won’t hurt you. I can get you out of here. So take my hand.”
In the end, she uncovered her face and stared at me. I felt a stream of tears escaping my face as I held my hand out to her. She slowly yet surely approached me as she held out her hand and gently placed it onto mine. I remembered her hand being much smaller than mine. I pulled her out of the room and saw her face in its entirety. Her teeth had fangs that were as black as her hands which were coveted in wounds. Flinching, she turned her face away from me and let out a small growl.
“Endure it okay? We just need to get you out of here.”
All my fears for being caught were turned into nothing but a distant memory as I ran with her in tow to the outside. But waiting for us was-
“Heh. Didn’t think you had balls, kid. I’m impressed.”
 “You!”
That man had waited for me. Waited until I freed her to catch me. I couldn’t tell if he was smart or if I was just stupid for buying into that key. But I assume the latter before the former.
“I’m gonna need you to return that thing to me now and crawl back to your room, kid. Besides, shouldn’t kids like you be scared of the monsters that hide under your bed? Much less ones locked up
 “Grrr…”
“You’re the real monster here. She might look like one, but she’s just as human as anyone else.”
The man just laughed at my statement as if it was some cruel joke. And he kept laughing until he looked to the direction of the mansion.
“Hahahaha! You hear this my lady?! Th-This kid here just called me a monster! For a kid of supposed geniuses, he’s an idiot for telling someone he’s a monster when he’s holding the claw of the real thing! Hahahah!”
“It is quite amusing… Isn’t it? Lusamine?”
Mother… She stood watching in anger as she saw me holding her hand. The way she looked down on us as I stood in front of the girl with my arms spread out.
“Have you gone insane, Gladion? Taking someone’s research like that. You might as well be taking their own child.”
“Then why was she locked up in that room if she’s supposed to be her mother, huh!? Either way, I’m not letting you hurt her anymore!”
“Tch! How dare you talk to her that way, huh kid?! Just who the hell do you think you are? You’re nothing!”
  Luma’s POV
This was one of the first instances I had in the outside world. The moon shining from above. The echoing of the sea. The breeze blowing my hair away. I was scared and didn’t know what was going on. And why that boy wanted to protect me so badly. In a fit of fear, I felt my power rising from within me as I wanted to fulfill this boy’s wish and keep him from harm’s way. When I did, it was all such a blur as I felt myself soaring through the skies with the boy in my hands. He sounded like he was in fear as I flew higher and higher into the sky and away from this prison. I didn’t know where to go. Just any place far from here. Anywhere where my wings could carry us.
That was where my first experience outside began. We landed in a spot filled with trees, plants, and various Pokemon I never knew existed. It was all so green and humid that I ended up getting tired as my wings couldn’t carry the two of us anymore.
 “Haaaah… Ugh... Ahh?”
I couldn’t really form many words after my transformation. And I almost felt like I was getting dumber and dumber as my power increased. Almost as if I was devolving than I was evolving. Back then, I didn’t know he lost consciousness from the shock of the flight. I figured he was hungry. But everything around me was unfamiliar as I had no idea how to tell what food was and what wasn’t. I growled at the slightest sounds created by the calls of Pokemon out of caution. But then I saw a miniature swarm of Ribombee approaching us. Of course, because I too was hungry, I decided to let my primal instincts take over and hunt the creatures. I managed to catch one and held it in my claws as it chirped in fear and confusion. But I didn’t care as I stuffed the Bee Fly Pokemon in my mouth, not paying heed to the rustling of the boy waking up as I tasted the bug. I turned to the sight of the rustling and saw the boy getting up and look at me in shock as the Ribombee was hanging from my mouth.
“Wha? What are you eating?!” he yelled in a fast manner as he ran toward me. But it was too late as I inhaled the innocent Bee Fly into my mouth. He just looked at me in a daze and got closer to me, reaching his hand toward me.
“No, wait! Spit it out. That’s not food.”
The way he held his hands to me had triggered my defenses and I ended up biting his wrist, releasing the Ribombee in the process. He yelped in pain as my teeth seeped through his skin, but instead of crying or yelling in pain, I remembered he stroked the top of my head, petting me softly that I ended up loosening my grip on him, not understanding what I had just done. Thinking back from then, that maybe why his hand was shaking like that.
“Jeez! I was only trying to help!”
 “Haugh…? Uh…”
“Wait… Can you not understand what I’m saying?”
 “Ah.”
“Well… I’m Gladion. Can you at least tell me your name?”
 “Mmm…”
“*Sigh*… Maybe you have something written on your clothes? Maybe that bracelet? Lemme see your hand for a second.”
I flinched as he grabbed my hand but grew a bit curious as he examined my hand. But alas didn’t find what he was looking for. So, he decided to look at my feet and at a bangle that hung around the ankle of my leg and carefully examined the contents, reading them allowed as he did.
“Luminaria Moon? It’s a pretty name, but it’s kind of a mouthful… Maybe we can come up with a nickname?”
 “Hah?”
“Hmm… Luma maybe? Man this is difficult… I’ve never been good with nicknames… even with a Pokemon that I met recently at Aether I only ever call it Null.”
 “Ah!”
 “Hey what’s up?”
 “Uuu… Ah.”
“Wait are you trying to say something?”
 “Ooo… Ma… Lu! Ma!”
 “…Alright. I got it. Let’s go, Luma.”
 “Ah.”
I also remembered being a fast learner. The first thing I had learned was my name… Luma. And eventually, I was able to form certain words with every second I spent with him. Eventually I learned about various Pokemon and ways to survive in the wild, albeit our knowledge was limited. One moment I remembered was when we sat near a meadow filled with red flowers and various Pokemon trainers on their way to becoming Island Challenge Champions. And Gladion had just returned from getting snacks from a Pokemon Center nearby.
 “Here you go.”
 “Huh?”
“It’s a Sweet Heart. Give it a try.”
Taking a weary bite, my expression changed from uncertainty to that of pure joy as I let out a cheery screech, but keeping my mouth closed to keep the rich chocolate in my mouth as my legs kicked for joy. Gladion laughed as he watched me eat the treat. Yet for some reason, I felt the need to show my gratitude by showing one of the last things that was given to me by the visitor; the picture book. I took the picture book from my hood and tugged at the sleeve of his shirt.
 “What’s the matter?”
 “L-Look.”
“You had that with you this whole time?”
 “Look!”
“Is it okay for me to look at it?”
 “Yeah.”
“Alright then. Let’s see here… ‘The Beast and the Prince?’. Sounds kind of cheesy… But when you got nothing to do but run.”
  Gladion’s POV
The pictures burst from the page as I opened to the first page, pulling me in instantly. I always wondered how the pages, although kept in her hood all this time, were never crumbled nor worn. The book looked as though it was barely checked out from the library.
“These pages are pretty. Let’s see here… ‘in the deepest, darkest part of the forest lived a tribe hidden from all. They had large wings on their backs and although considered beasts among all, were considered beautiful creatures. Among them was their princess who had ashen wings-“
I was interrupted with the sudden footsteps and conversations of several Aether and Strella employees in search of us. But mostly Luma. As for me…
“Don’t worry. Maybe if we just-“
“What about Gladion? What do we do about him?”
“Our priority is the beast. If he gets in the way, we have no choice but to take him down.”
I remembered embracing Luma and keeping her close to me as I found out what they would do to me if I were to resist. I never knew if it was out of fear for myself. Or for her. But even so, I felt the need to protect her.
We waited as they got away from our sights and far from the area we were in. As we ran, I kept recalling the story that we read along each stop we took and the sad ending that took place. The Princess grew to love the Prince and consulted a witch for her to become human, knowing that a beast and a human could never be together. The Witch complied and took her wings. But warned the Princess that she would one day become an even fiercer demon than she was already considered and consume the prince’s life. They eventually fell in love with one another and married. Promising themselves to one another. But the princess’ happiness didn’t last as she turned into a beast with wings as black as tar. In exchange for her humanity, the princess had to kill the Prince, the person she loved most, to be free from her curse and return to the person she originally was. In the end, she couldn’t do it, and flew far from the prince as far as her wings could take her, never to see the prince again, much to his grief.
For some reason, that story was one of the only things I could think about as we hid and ran from the employees. Were we just like the people from the story? Were we supposed to be kept apart? Even as we decided to walk in the empty halls of the Lake of the Sunne, that story remained in my mind.
 “Oof!”
“Hey! Are you okay? Guess we were walking quite a bit, huh?”
 “Am I… a Beast?”
 “What?”
 “I… I’m not… Human. I-I think… I hurt.”
“Don’t say anything like that! You were made to be a guinea pig to those people!”
 “B-“
“They’re the one’s who are the monsters. You’re just as human as anyone else, Luma!”
  Luma’s POV
Tears streamed down my face as soon as I heard those words. That I was human… That I was more human than anyone else. The one thing I was never able to learn was affection toward another. And at that moment, I learned it from him as I jumped into his arms despite the scratches and wilts on my legs. Those tears were filled to the brim with joy as those words echoed in my head as he hugged me with what felt like a smile on his face.
“Let’s go far away from here, Luma. And we can always be together.”
 “Together?”
“Yeah. We can go somewhere where no one can hurt you, where we won’t be ignored, and there will be a lot of Pokemon. And we get older, we can train together, and get stronger! And then… I can always be there by your side… Just like that story. But with a happy ending. One where nothing can drive us apart.”
 “Then… You’re my prince?”
The way I worded seemed to have made his face bright red. Thinking back I never really considered his feelings aside from flying him away from that island. Even as his face heated up and as he stumbled in this words, he grabbed both my hands and looked me in the eyes.
“O-Of course! I’ll always be there for you, Luma. Just don’t leave me.”
 “O-Okay…”
I wanted us to keep true to our promise. I wanted us to be together and do all that he just said. Deep down, I wanted us to be together… But as those people from both the foundation and the corporation came in… That vision for the both of us… It all came crashing down.
Why… Why did all of this have to happen? Why couldn’t everything be like it was before the fall? Before all the tests? Before Necrozma was found? Before…
  Gladion’s POV
Why? Why did all of this had to happen? When did this all start? After Dad disappeared? After Mom began to lose it? When Lillie started crying? When? When did this happen?! When did I decide to finally run… When they took us away? When mom created Type:Null and obtained Cosmog? When they erased our memories? Luma… Why were they treating you like a monster? Why were you so different from the rest of humanity? What I felt for you back then… was it remorse? Pity? No… It was far beyond those things… When I heard her shouting my name as we were dragged back into Aether Foundation.
I feel… So stupid for forgetting that day. Did she always know of this? Or was I… Just that foolish…
     EPILOGUE (Three Years Later)
 “You’re Luma?”
 “Uhh… Who wants to know?”
“Hmm… You have enough sense to be wary. Not bad…”
 “J-Just who are you?”
“I’m Gladion. I battle for my partner Null to make it strong… Though most of our time gets used up doing small jobs for Team Skull… Now battle me. I won’t take no for an answer… Hmm?”
The girl felt a sudden stream of tears cascading on her face. Her face a blank stare toward the Enforcer who stood in her way as she wondered why her feelings felt like such a mess.
“Luma? Why are you crying?” Hau asked from the sidelines as Luma had snapped out of her daze, wiped her tears and pulled a Pokeball from her bag, all shielding the truth with a smirk and seemingly determined eyes.
“Well… You could say I’m crying… For how badly I’m going to defeat this guy!”
“We’ll see who will be the one crying when I’m through with you!” The Enforcer shouted as the two of them commenced their battle. One filled with conflicted feelings. And one filled with determination for getting stronger.

PokéAni Office AU
So it’s 5:30 in the morning and I’m about to go to bed because I’m tired / have work tomorrow, but as I was eating a very late dinner I was watching some webisodes of The Office that I had somehow never seen before (including a music video made by Kelly, Ryan, and Erin, and a series of ten short webisodes in which the accounting trio tried to find a missing $3000, pure gold), and that got me thinking about a PokéAni AU of The Office.
Now, to be clear: When I went through and made these selections, I was not matching characters by personality. In other words, when I picked three accountants, I wasn’t trying to pick three PokéAni characters to be Angela, Oscar, and Kevin. Rather, I picked three PokéAni characters that I felt would make good accountants. This is a bit silly in that I included both Max and Bonnie in this AU, even though they should be way too young---but then, pretty much all the characters in this AU would be too young to work in an actual office, so. You just kind of have to roll with it.
My idea for this is---somehow, all of these characters got roped into office jobs, in which they are also being filmed as part of a documentary (mockumentary, in this case ;D). Maybe they somehow got roped into working for Silph---or Devon Corporation, like, somehow Steven Stone roped them all into working at one of the Devon Corporation’s branches. That would also allow him to make appearances from time to time as a member of corporate, yessss. So they’re all working in an office, and pokémon still exist, then (good, because honestly, Pokémon AUs without the pokémon are just not for me), and they’ve all been given jobs that, in theory, they should be able to do well. I say “in theory” because, well . . .
Co-Manager: Jessie
Co-Manager: James These are the two that are probably the most unqualified for the position they hold, tbqh. (And yes, pokémon still exist and so Meowth is there as well, he just doesn’t officially hold the position of third co-manager.) How or why they were made the managers of this branch no one is really clear, but you can imagine how they’re running this place. I mean, sometimes they do a halfway decent job! Sometimes! Aaaand other times they spend a decent amount of time throwing things at Ash because his desk is right in front of the door to their office. :/ Either way, there needed to be some way for shenanigans to be afoot in this office, and what better way than to make Jessie and James co-managers? (Though to be fair, the shenanigans are why I put them in that position. Who knows why Steven gave them this position. Steven, what were you thinking?! Unless . . . unless it wasn’t Steven, but was his father instead. That makes more sense. In that case, Mr Stone, what were you thinking?!)
Office Administrator: Alan As the office administrator, Alan is the one who actually keeps the branch afloat while Jessie and James . . . be Jessie and James. (And again, sometimes Jessie and James can do legitimate work, but like . . . those times are rare.) Office administrators have a pretty wide arrange of duties, which can include everything from coordinating office operations (particularly in ways that ensure efficiency), to supervising staff (including administrative staff, and god knows Jessie and James need someone to at least try to keep them on track), to giving support for bookkeeping and other accounting duties. Alan would have a lot of responsibility around the office (particularly given who the managers are), but I think he’d be a good fit for handling it. I also think he would be one of the most frequent offenders of giving deadpan looks directly at the camera. He also facepalms as a result of the shenanigans around the office (he facepalms in PokéAni canon, so it counts), and is definitely a member of The Coalition for Reason™ when things get really out of hand. (The Coalition for Reason™ doesn’t really have a leader, per se, but since he’s office administrator it often falls to him anyway.)
Receptionist: Bonnie Bonnie is a bright ray of sunshine and I think she’d make a fantastic receptionist. She always gets really excited whenever she gets to put new candy out on the desk, but she has a bad habit of asking visitors to the branch if they would care for her brother by marrying him. Clemont’s desk is right on the other side of the divider from reception, so he overhears this, and he is never amused.
Salesman: Ash
Salesman: Gary
Salesman: Misty
Salesman: Dawn
Salesman: Iris Our all-star sales team!! A few quick notes on them: - Ash is the other most frequent offender for looking straight at the camera when things are happening in the office. The main difference is that while Alan’s looks are usually deadpan, Ash’s tend to be more sassy. (So like, think of all the times Jim looks at the camera on the office; Alan has Jim’s deadpan looks, while Ash has Jim’s little grins and whatnot.)  - Gary is top salesman; he brags about this with fair frequency, especially to Ash. - Ash and Gary prank each other. A lot. Things escalate very quickly. Sometimes others in the office get in on it. Iris frequently teams up with Ash to double team Gary. - Iris and Misty are two other members of The Coalition for Reason™. (Usually, anyway, because there are occasions when they get wrapped up in the shenanigans, too.) - While Gary is top salesman and he often brags about this, Ash and Misty get in more friendly, heated competitions over sales than anyone else. They’re also one of the best sales teams in the office (though Ash and Dawn are also fantastic at sales, and Arceus help any client who happens to be met with the Ash - Misty - Dawn triad. They have no hope of avoiding closing). - Likewise, Gary and Iris are a very adept sales team. Something about them just clicks.  - Since Misty, Iris, and Dawn are all in the same desk clump, they coordinate Halloween costumes together.
Quality Assurance: Cilan Cilan is the perfect person for the quality assurance job because he can tell you exactly what flavor the products need to be, and if the flavor is working, or if the taste is all wrong, et cetera, you get the idea. He is a connoisseur, this is what he does.
Supplier Relations: Serena Likewise, Serena is great at supplier relations because she can always get suppliers to give them discounts on product, and yet at the same time is great at finding deals and seasonal bargains, et cetera.
Accountant: Clemont
Accountant: Max
Accountant: Tracey The accounting trio, and not just because two of them happen to wear glasses, haha. Rather, it’s because they’re all smart and on top of things, and I think they’d make great accountants therefore. A few notes: - As mentioned, Clemont’s desk is right on the other side of the partition dividing accounting from reception. He always hears when Bonnie is trying to find him a spouse and he often has his Aipom Arm reach over the partition to pick her up by the scruff.  - Max is actually the head of accounting, technically, and he’s very particular about his books, even as he tries to find shortcuts to get things done faster. Clemont usually suggests they invent a new calculation device and Max has to put the kibosh on that. To that end, Max is another member of The Coalition for Reason™. - Tracey would much rather go to art school than be an accountant. His books usually have doodles all over them. He and Max have agreed that this is fine so long as the numbers are still legible.
Human Resources: Brock I mean, who better to be the human resources representative? Brock is great at settling quarrels around the office (usually) and does his best to keep the peace. He also does his best to rein in Jessie and James, but. Well. You know how that goes. He’s the final member of The Coalition for Reason™ provided there isn’t a very pretty girl visiting the office, but at that point either Misty or Max (who, if you’ll remember, are also part of The Coalition for Reason™) will drag him off by his ear, so. Don’t worry, the Coalition keeps its members in check. =P His desk is in the annex.
Customer Service: May May tends to be rather upbeat and positive (if a bit eccentric), as well as sensitive to others’ feelings, and so I think she’d make a great customer service representative. As the CS rep, she’s also the one in charge of managing the sales team’s customer reviews. She takes full advantage of this fact and reminds everyone what her favorite types of cookies are whenever it’s time for reviews to come through. Her desk is in the annex, next to Manon’s.
The Temp: Manon As the temp, Manon handles whatever extraneous tasks around the office need to be handled. Team Rocket sometimes tries to take advantage of this by trying to send her off to do ridiculous things (such as fetch them breakfast at ridiculous hours). Alan usually puts a stop to that by giving her something real to do, and then reminding Jessie and James that they’re supposed to be running the office. Alan also gives her real work to do when she decides that, instead of doing work, she’s just going to wander around, help create shenanigans, and also bug him tbh. Her desk is in the annex, next to May’s.
You’ll notice I talked about desk positions, and I’ve drawn up floor plans! These are based exactly on the floor plans for the Dunder-Mifflin office in The Office. They’re not the prettiest in the world, but:
Tumblr media
Here’s the first one. I forgot to add it, but the door to enter the floor is straight down from Bonnie’s reception desk. Anyway, so there should be a bit more space between Alan’s desk and reception / the partition (that’s where the printer goes, in that space, and there’s also space to walk), but you get the general idea. The accounting cluster is on the other side of reception; Cilan and Serena are desk buddies; Ash, Gary, and Alan are all in one desk clump, and Ash’s desk is in the perfect position for Jessie and James to hassle him during the day (at least until Pikachu shocks them to get them to knock it off); Dawn, Misty, and Iris have another; and the conference room is where pointless meetings, parties, and talking heads / confessionals with the doc crew are usually held.
Then you have the kitchen (which is right behind Dawn’s desk), which also leads back to the annex:
Tumblr media
There are only three characters back here (as in canon), so it’s a lot smaller, haha. The break room has the vending machines, and yeah, Brock is separated from May and Manon by a partition. It doesn’t matter, they all still chat anyway.
At any rate, this was just a silly little thing I drew up real quick. Idk about you guys, but I would watch this show. Imagine all the talking heads / confessionals. The conference room meetings. The very heated Serious Business™ debates over things. All the birthday parties. It would be awesome. Even if it was just, like, a special they did, instead of a full series. Hell, make this a 20th anniversary special. Would it be silly nonsense? Yep. Would it be entertaining to see these characters in this kind of setting, trying to run a company? You betcha.
Anyway, this was just a silly little thing. I need to go to sleep now. =P

Enter the Missing Father, Ch. 1
Rating: T
Words: 5405
A man in his early forties stood at the door of his wife’s house. After being gone for so long, he was unsure of how she might react, or if she would accept him back into her life. Against the nauseous feeling in his stomach, he knocked on the wooden door, listening for an answer on the other side. How would she react? Happy? Sad? How long had it really been?    With a click, the door swung open, and the smile he longed to see faded instantly the moment their eyes connected.    “Hello m–”    She slapped him. Ending his introduction early.    “Do you have any idea how long it’s been!? I had to raise our son alone! I haven’t heard from you in the last twenty years!” She breathed. “I had to dry his tears when I told him that you died because I didn’t have the heart to tell him that you walked out on him! On us! I had to be strong for the both of us!” The woman roared, incensed with rage    Standing his ground, the man took a deep breath. “I’m so sorry… my dearest Delia.”    “And you—do you know what’s worse!? I stayed faithful to you!”    The man swallowed in response to her hostility and glanced tiredly around the entrance; she held her hand up to silence any response.    “How dare you speak to me that way, Giovanni!” Few times in his life had Giovanni, the great criminal leader of Team Rocket felt intimidated. Delia was one of the few people on the planet, a gaze so intense he felt his blood run cold.    Taking another deep breath, Giovanni started again, “I’m sorry that I left you to raise our son alone, and that I never called, or wrote, or dared to visit.” he cleared his throat, “I just didn’t want you and our son to get involved with…”    Without knowing it he had taken a few steps forward, but Delia stopped him with the palm of her hand, and gave a solid push, keeping him just out of reach, and out of her life. In a rather comical display balance, the shove came as a surprise, and Giovanni stumbled, and fell backwards onto the porch.    “Involved with what?!” She hissed, practically seething. Giovanni thought he had never seen her so angry before in his life.    “When I married you, I knew exactly what you were doing with Team Rocket. You even tried to induct me when we were engaged! Our son—My son—Ash Ketchum already grew up without a father; and he doesn’t need you, of all people now!”    “My beautiful son, that I spent years of sleepless nights with, listening to him cry few years that you didn’t want him–” She hesitated, furious beyond words. “I told him you were dead. You have no business here, not with him. Not ever.”  Delia had spent hours—years–of her life waiting on this man, this self-involved man. Whatever reason he had for missing Ash’s life, she didn’t care—and she especially didn’t want him suddenly showing up now. In Delia’s mind, the man she fell in love with, Ash’s father, died years ago when she had to hold her crying son when he would return home from camp, crying, because the other children teased him for his circumstances. She spent years patching the damage left by Giovanni’s absence, and she would sooner die than give him a second chance.    “I’m assuming you have his wedding invitation?” she fumed, folding her arms over her chest.    Giovanni seemed to pause for a moment, smart, if he knew what was good for him. “Yes…I have.” he replied calmly.    “Might I ask how?” She rolled her eyes. “First, you’re gone for years, and now you think you can make an appearance! You’re sick in the head!”    Now it was Giovanni’s turn to twist, he stood up, straightened his tie in preparation to speak again—he would not take this kind of treatment. He had barely said three sentences to this woman, and she exploded. Given, she had every reason to, he wouldn’t accept it.    Before he spoke, Delia raised her hand. Nimble, pale fingers pressed high to referee the moment. A threat. “If you, or any of your gang members ruin a single, solitary millisecond of my son’s wedding, I swear to Mew, and Arceus, and every godly creature on this planet it will be the last thing you ever do! Do I make myself clear!?” She was screaming, and hadn’t realized it. Lights flicked on in the neighbor’s house down the street, but no one rushed to their doors while she held a dark scowl. Her words pierced into Giovanni’s heart like fiery daggers and he nodded.    “Crystal.” He muttered, swallowing his pride. He didn’t remember her as such an angry woman—so vicious and tired. He saw the distinct traces of crowfeet beneath her eyes, and her once smooth skin was wrinkled just around her lips—laugh lines.    “I’m sorry.” he offered, but she made no attempt at reconciliation, as the door slammed shut shortly after. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXOOXOXOXOOXOXOOXOXOXOOXOXOOX    The wedding between Ash Ketchum and Misty Waterflower went off without an issue. As if it were a moment in a fairy tale; everything was perfect. Delia couldn’t have been prouder or happier for her son and newly acquired daughter in law than she was now. They both looked absolutely precious.    Ash wore a jet black tuxedo with white carnations tucked into his chest pocket. Beneath he had on a white, satin dress shirt, a pearl white tie, and his original Cascade badge pinned onto his tie, just beneath the knot. Paired with midnight black pants, tailored to perfection and glistening dark leather shoes; he was the embodiment of the perfect gentleman. If only the guest saw how long it took him to get that way, especially his hair—neatly combed, matted down with gel so not a single strange of hair was out of place—he looked exactly like the prince Misty always wanted, and the prince Delia always knew that he was.    But across from her prince-charming, Misty looked absolutely breathtaking. He dress was pure, a silky white gown with diamonds hand embroidered throughout the full length of her bodice. A truly elegant pearl white tulle skirt puffed out all around her like a sea of white—and around her neck, she wore an elaborate crystal necklace, given to her by her mother. Matching her gown, she had diamond stud earrings, with an emerald center with red hair cascading down her backside. Holding it together was a seashell pin that Delia remembered as the pin that was given to Misty by Ash on their first date. To complete the look, her ballgown dress was perfected by a pair of pristine, glass slippers. In her seat, Delia chuckled, the world renown ‘tomboy mermaid’ certainly looked like a princess herself, standing in all of her glory beside her equally as darling son.    However, if the marriage was based solely on looks; their relationship would have never lasted, Delia knew. Unlike her own rather dauntless marriage, Ash and Misty loved each other like no one else. In fact, if they had been married in rags in the middle of nowhere, no gifts, no lights, no dancing, and no drinks—they would have still shared that same, tantalizing gaze. Material items did not matter; they were each other’s whole world.    “And by the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife!” After a cheer from the pews full of people, a hush followed as the officiate leaned in with a smile. “Ash, you may now kiss the bride.”    Ash looked giddy, hardly able to contain himself when he nudged forward to cup his new wife’s cheeks with his hands. Her heart fluttered in pure joy when he leaned in, kissing her passionately, and her arms flung up then around his shoulders as they celebrated the moment.    “Ladies and gentleman, it is my privilege to introduce you for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Ketchum!” Along with the man’s own booming voice, the crowd roared in applause and happiness. A few hats were thrown in celebration, Delia thought wolf whistles came from a rowdy bunch in the corner—but she couldn’t care. All eyes were on her two children.    As the newlyweds separated, Misty’s brows knit daringly—mischievously, if Delia knew that look herself, and taking Ash by surprise, Misty laid a sloppy, lip-glossed kiss onto his lips and Ash gasped.    “Mis–!” he barely choked out before she snatched his hand bolted gleefully from the arch. Gazes fixed only on one another, they carefully followed the churches steps outside of the large, oak doors, and sprinted off into a waiting carriage. Ash barely snatched the door before Misty hopped in beside him, and as the driver started the engine, they waved to their long-time friends, new family, and from Ash, to Delia—a look of intense happiness as he turned forward to enjoy the scene with his wife.    The perfect moment. Delia could have never been more proud of her son. XOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXOOOXOXOOXOXOOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXOXOX    “My, my, darling, when did you get good at slow dancing?” Misty crooned during their first dance. He not only avoided stepped on her dress and shoes, but she also bowed, kept his hands in the correct position, and move her gracefully across the dance floor as their carefully, and much fought over ‘first dance’ song played in the background as noise neither of them could hear.    “Anything for you Mist.” His voice was deep now, a sultry drawl that sent excited shivers up Misty’s spine. She grinned from ear to ear as he twirled her around.    “How much did you bribe Brock? You were horrible at those dance lessons we shared.”    Ash’s facade broke for a second, nearly tripping up the twist, but caught her effortlessly with pursed lips. Accidents brought them closer, and he squeezed her hand.    “Let’s talk about that later.”    “Later” She winked sheepishly at him, and he draped his arms around her affectionately to bring her beautiful face mere inches from his own.    “I love you, angel.” He hummed lovingly as he kissed her soft lips.    “I love you more, darling.” she purred, taking initiative by cupping his cheeks and kissing him once more, for as long as possible—to think, a few years ago, the idea of holding hands in public turned Ash several sheets of white—and now, dozens of his closest friends watched him, and he could care less.    He loved her, so if people talked, they talked. He didn’t care. As the song came to a close, they tried to keep from pawing at one another—mostly for his mother’s sake, but as the DJ announced the next dance, he kissed Misty’s hand farewell and traded her off with none-else than her father. The old man nodded to Ash proudly before whisking the redhead off further to the dance floor, and Ash stuffed his hands into his pockets and walked backward off the dance floor—eyes never fleeing from his wife.    She looked—and was—absolutely stunning, he couldn’t believe when he saw her that Misty was the same arrogant, sarcastic little girl he met when they were children. Oh, how times had changed for the two of them. One second away from her felt like isolation.    “We’re up next.” The familiar, sweet voice of his mother stirred him from his thoughts, and he broke concentration for only a second to see her glowing face. If there was anyone as happy as he was—it was his mother.    “Hey mom.” he offered with an over the shoulder hug where her arm lingered, keeping him close.    “I’m just so happy for you.”    “Don’t start crying, mom.” Ash chuckled while she wiped at her eyes with a handkerchief. “And thank you,” he added dutifully, meeting her dark eyes. Her bottom lip quivered when she hugged him tightly.    “I can’t help it; my little boy is all grown up!” She whined, grasping at the back of his tuxedo with her manicured fingers while Misty twirled by them, giving Ash a look of apprehension. Delia was a crier.    “Mom.” Ash laughed, patting her while Misty spun to a stop, her father looking directly at the two of them—their song was over. Ash passed Misty with a kiss on the cheek before leading his mom to the dance floor and smiling warmly. Delia’s tears had since stopped—she never cried on a dance floor, but the look of pure bliss and happiness bounced from her face to his; and he looked over at Misty briefly, unable to keep his eyes off of her. She talked with her dad, shared a long hug with both of her parents and Ash felt a wave of emotion wash over him while he stepped to the beat.    “Mom,” he cooed, earning her attention with a deep breath. “…I…I kind of wish dad was alive to see this.” When Delia didn’t immediately respond, Ash cleared his throat—it wasn’t sadness, but acceptance of the events.    “But it’s okay, I mean, I am beyond words happy that you’re here, mom. I love you.”    For a second, he saw her eyebrows twitch worriedly as if she had more to say than she was about to—but the tears started again, and this time she didn’t seem to care who saw her when she hugged her son tightly.    “I love you, too, Ash.” she sobbed, and the rest of the dance was spent sharing short remember when you were this big stories, that mostly reminded Ash why he grew up the way he did in the first place. To remind him why his mother was exactly the mother, and the father, that he always needed.    When the song was over, Delia directed him to a very patiently waiting Misty who was gabbing with her sisters offhandedly and tossing glance after glance over her shoulder to see when Ash was finished, and hearing the song end; she almost jumped from her skin in glee.    “Go sit with your bride. She’s waiting.” Delia sniffed, but Ash hesitated a moment.    “Are you going to be okay, mom?” Ash offered sympathetically, always the most sincere with his mother. Delia covered her sob with a cough and nodded.    “I’m fine. Go.” She urged, swatting him on the back to push him forward. He tone was rushed, and, dare Ash to assume—pained. But he couldn’t linger on it as the waft of freshly cooked food filled his nostrils, and of course, Misty, who was positively glowing in all of her bride-glory.    “What took ya?” She challenged, and Ash stuck his tongue out at her playfully before taking a seat at her side. Where he belonged.    Once the rest of the attendance were in their seats, a tall gentleman made his way to the microphone at the DJ stand and waved to the crowd. Ash knew him instantly, how could he not? Misty and Ash looked at one another,  then back at the tall, dark-haired man.    “Hello, everyone. My name is Brock Harrison, and I’m the best man tonight.” He almost seemed to chipper announcing it, and Misty and Ash both had to silence a chuckle. “That’s right, me. And boy I cannot describe how honored I am to be here tonight, to celebrate a union that many years ago…well, well, seemed almost impossible.”    “Booo” Misty whispered playfully under her breath to hide her blush as the lights fixated on them, but she was quieted by Ash who cuffed her hands to listen.    “You see—when I first met these two, they were only ten years old. Ash was a beginning Pokemon trainer, and when I say that; I should really say a novice, trainer.” He waited for the laughs to sprinkle around the room while Ash scowled vehemently at him and Misty covered her lips to contain a chuckle.    “In fact, the first time that Ash challenged my gym, he tried to beat my onix with Pikachu; and I crushed him!” At this point Ash had balled his fists and looked to Misty for support, only to see that she was chuckling, but her eyes had playfully narrowed at Brock.    “In the end, Ash did beat me. Not fairly, but I remember that I had never seen anyone with the determination and drive that he had. Ash inspired me. My best friend.” He took a moment to raise his glass to Ash, and the playful hostility died with an honest smile. “So I decided to travel with him and Misty, and I’ve never once regretted it—well, except for when I had to stop those two from killing each other on a daily basis—but they grew out of that.”    Under his breath, Ash thought he could hear Brock mutter a quiet I think, before continuing as the crowd that knew the newlyweds so well laughed louder.     “But in all seriousness, I love these two wonderful people like my own family. Misty, I have watched you grow into a beautiful young woman, both physically and emotionally. You’re one of the strongest women I’ve ever had the joy of meeting, and I can’t imagine what life would have been without you there. I love you as much as I love my own sisters, and someday, I hope that I will meet a young lady as gorgeous and as faithful as you, I wish you and Ash the best.”    “Ash, you have come a long way since you began your journey from Pallet Town with Pikachu. The experiences you’ve gone through are things that most people only dream of. You’ve faced adversaries, the end of the world, and every time you’ve come up on top. No matter how much you’ve grown, or changed; there is one thing about you that hasn’t changed one bit. Your drive. Your determination.” Misty squeezed Ash’s hand in response to Brock’s pause. “You’ve always strove to be the best that you can be, especially with Misty. The love that you two share is intoxicating and genuine, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little jealous of what you two have. I love you two like nothing else in the world, and that you two are going to give each other the best, forever and always.”    Brock took a moment to inhale, looking into each of their faces, watching the smile reach their eyes as he raised his glass.    “To Ash and Misty Ketchum. The two very best friends anyone could ever dream of!”    After the toast, each person in attendance rose for a standing ovation as a tearful Brock made his way to his best friends and whisked them into a warm, affectionate hug.    “That was beautiful Brock, thank you.” Misty smiled, planting a kiss on his cheek.    “I’m not gonna kiss ya, Brocko, but thank you for saying all of that. I know you meant it. We love you, too.” He smiled earnestly, and as the embrace ended, Ash and Brock separated on cue.    “Love you, too, buddy, but this is kind of.”    “Awkward.” Ash deduced, crinkling his nose and stepping aside while Misty snickered.    “Maybe you two should have gotten married.” Misty teased hotly, and Ash scowled.    “Only if he would stop bringing up that gym match.” Ash joked, shaking his head with wide eyes at Brock, who snickered.    “No chance in hell.”    After the short embrace and conversation, they took their seats again for the next speech—Daisy rose for all to listen.    As her speech started, Misty tucked Ash’s hand away against her lap and brushed calming strokes down the length of his arm while Daisy spoke of their past—of their future of their relationship and their friendship. Of how proud she was of Misty, how grateful she was for Ash, and most importantly, how amazing they were together. Lily and Violet chimed in on cue, smiling at Misty from ear to ear.    “This is the start of the rest of your life! And I know you couldn’t be happier. I love you baby sister. Here’s to the newlyweds!” She screamed, and once again, the crowd rose for a roaring applause, and Misty and her sisters shared a fitful of hugs.    “You’re going to make me ruin my make up,” Misty whined through a smile, wiping at her tears. “I love you three so much.” She urged, and the hugged again.    Finally, the moment they had all been waiting for, a polite hush followed his mother as she walked the distance from her table to the microphone where all eyes fell on her. No one was scared of Delia—they loved her unconditionally, she was a mother to all of them, and everyone respected her a great deal. She treated every single person with kindness and love and waited eagerly for her to speak.    At first, words didn’t leave, choked up on her gaze on Ash, emotional over the previous speakers, but then she offered a sincere smile and plucked on a pair of reading glasses as she reviewed her notes from an elegant notebook.    “Good evening, everyone. I’m Delia Ketchum, as most of you know, I’m Ash’s mother.” She waited for a string of quiet applause before continuing. “It’s my turn to finally toast my wonderful son, and his gorgeous wife, Misty, so…” She flicked a page or two but then tucked it behind her before speaking again.    “I was just nineteen years old when I found out I was pregnant with Ash, and to be honest, I was scared that I wouldn’t be a good mother, or that I would mess up and prove my family right that I couldn’t handle raising a child as a single mother.” her eyes hit the floor, but it was Ash who watched her eagerly, knowing well that she was the best mother he could have ever wanted—and the crowd agreed with silent mutterings of how 'untrue’ the sentiment was. Delia was a wonderful mother.    “Then, when I held my baby boy for the first time, all of my fears, my doubts, and my worries disappeared in an instant! No one could stop me; I had Ash, and that’s all that mattered.” She raised her hand to stop applause.    “And then when he was ten, he left on his Pokemon journey, and truth be told, I was sad, but I knew he was following his dreams and that always made me smile. And if he hadn’t gone—well, I would have never met my new, stunning daughter-in-law, Misty. I have had the utmost pleasure of knowing this beautiful young woman since she was just a ten-year-old girl with a fiery temper and legs too long for her body.”    Misty slammed her palm against her face, blushing with a sigh, but knew that Delia meant no harm. Ash leaned over to mutter something about I like your long legs, but she was too embarrassed to hear him as Delia continued.    “Like most everyone else here, I’ve watched you grow. I’ve watched you blossom, I’ve watched you fall and get back up. I’ve seen you mature into the magnificent young woman standing here today, and I love you like my own. Misty has always brought the best out in my son, even when they argue, there’s so much love. They bring out the best in each other, and they strive for greatness together. As friends, as lovers, as a couple.”    “They share nicknames;” she paused as if waiting for permission to tell the story. “Ash calls her  'Angel,’ after an incident where he was hospitalized for a few months, and Misty was there to take care of him. To make a long, and… not so happy story short; Ash was in pretty bad shape—but Misty came to his side every day and sung to him in this angelic voice that soothed him. When he finally woke up, his first words were thank you, my angel.” She waved to Misty, who blushed and tossed a sincere gaze at Ash who smiled affectionately at the memory. An event it was. Ash had terrible nightmares for months after the accident; he barely remembered it now, though; thanks to Misty.    “Ash and Misty were made for each other. No one has ever been more devoted to each other as they are, and I am so excited for their long and prosperous future together. They complete each other. To Ash and Misty Ketchum!” Delia boomed, hiding the tears that pooled at the sides of her eyes.    As the crowd cheered in elation, and Ash moved from his seat to walk to his mother, and she to him, an unknown figure walked to the microphone and stopped the mother and son dead in their tracks while he scanned the audience with calm eyes.    “Hello everyone, might I say a few words?” He tapped the microphone and then folded his hands behind his back. Immediately, Ash made a face while Delia spun around, clutching at her son’s arm.    “My name is Vincent Giovanni, and I’m the leader of the Viridian City gym, and  I would like to say a few words to this lovely couple.” As the man spoke, Ash found his way back to his seat, with his mom followed him quietly to the seat he had set up for her at his left side. Seeing his face scrunch up uncomfortably, Misty brushed her hand along his back and leaned in to whisper in his ear.    “Is everything okay, Ash?” Misty inquired.    Not wanting to see her worry, he smiled at her. “I’m all right, angel, really.” He spoke softly and turned back to the man, unable to shake the feeling that he had seen him somewhere before. In the seat not to far away from Ash’s, he could see Delia practically fuming in her seat, white-knuckled at the grip she held on her dress skirt.    “First of all, I would like to congratulate our regions Pokemon Master, Ash Ketchum, and his new bride, the gym leader of Cerulean City, Misty Ketchum, on this truly extravagant and breathtaking wedding ceremony. I wish you both nothing but the absolute best, and may your live only grow stronger as the years fly by. Giovanni grinned while raising his glass. A calloused glare made his words mocking, and both Ash and Misty were both on the defensive.    “I would like to take this extra time, to say something I should have said a very long time ago.” he stared at Ash first, but then to Delia, as if he was trying to embed the knife into her back. His cocky glare returned to Ash. “Ash Ketchum, I am your father,” he announced without any hesitation, and the audience gasped in pure silence at the accusation. For Ash, he looked on with a blank stare. Separated only by the dance floor and table, he felt like the room was suffocating him, and he couldn’t open a window.    His father? Ash thought grimly, but his father was dead, mom had told him so. Naturally, Ash tried to look at Delia but found his gaze stuck on Giovanni—this man. His father.    Then, as seconds moved into light years, Misty rose, leaving the small table set aside for them, hiking her dress up with the balls of her hands and storming through the silence until she stopped abruptly a foot away from him, staring him down regardless of the height difference. No one spoke, not even the fish bowls on the tables flipped when Misty exhaled icily. Full of rage and pain shared from years of experience handling Ash’s emotional baggage, Misty hissed.    “Get out.” She ordered firmly, but when he didn’t budge—didn’t look at her, she stomped her foot and pointed at the door. The rest of the crowd joined in, while Ash’s knees were too weak to move, Brock, standing at an amazing 6'3” was rushing to Misty’s side in her defense.    “You don’t get to talk!” Misty had screeched before Giovanni continued. “You will not barge in here and cause my husband anymore pain. Get out!”    Brock reached her, followed by Gary, then Tracey, and slowly the rest of the guest rose in the determination; and while Giovanni was sure they would not harm him, he brushed his hands against his suit and nodded.    “Alright.” he nodded, then smoothly turned away from them, and left through the swinging doors. Misty’s corset beneath her dress was suddenly suffocating, and she beamed at Brock.    “Who does he think he is, coming in here on our wedding day!” Misty hissed in a low voice at Brock who shrugged, but then directed her attention back to Ash, who had only now managed to stand.    “Ash, darling.” Misty hummed as the crowd dispersed and started to talk amongst themselves, she walked to him, cupping his cheeks and sitting him back down on the chair.    “What just happened?” A stunned Ash asked, while Misty pat his shoulder gently.    “A crazy man just tried to crash our party.” She said, in pure disbelief that Giovanni was really Ash’s father. Hearing her comment, Ash smiled in agreement.    “Yeah, I guess so.”    “But we’re not going to let him, right?”    “Right.” Ash agreed, finding it hard not to grin at Misty when he stood up to address the other issue.    “Alright, everyone, let’s dig in!” Ash shouted, and alleviated sighs and grunts responded to him as people started to make their way to the buffet table—but Ash had his hand in Misty and tugged her along with him as he shouted.    “Bride and groom go first!” He shouted, rushing passed Richie and Kasey, and a few other guests. Left alone, sitting at her table, knuckles still white and eyes as wide as saucers, Delia shook her head.    Ash didn’t believe him. But he came. He showed up. What in the world did Giovanni suspect he would get out of this meeting? Of barging in on Ash’s wedding. Her heart ached, and she leaned forward, crying, for the first time that night—for another reason than happiness. XOXOXOXOOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXOOXOXOXOOXOXOXOOXOXOOXOXOX    Ash the night drew to close, and Misty and Ash were both partied out, and their friends had all gathered for dancing, cake, food, and probably too much alcohol, they were finally setting off from the party, to embark on their own, more intimate celebration of the evening.    “Thank you all for coming!” Misty sung eagerly, hugging people briefly as Ash practically dragged her away from the reception. She was moving too slow—and they were going to be late for the private jet he ordered if they didn’t leave right now.    “Misty–” He whined, but she was still eagerly waiting for pictures with friends and family, and catching up—basking in the one-time glory of being the center of attention, and actually enjoying it. So Ash watched her, a small smile playing on his lips, as he thought about what Giovanni had said to him.    It couldn’t really be his father. Ash’s dad was dead….so why… “Hey, stop thinking so much, you’re gonna strain yourself!” Misty whisked to him, planting a gently kiss on his cheek before starting their final goodbye with waves and bubbles.    She leaned over to whisper in his ear next, keeping her voice low and sultry. “I’m going to need you at your best tonight.” She sang playfully into his ear, and Ash snatched her by the arm, and practically threw her inside of the limousine he ordered, not sparing another thought on the Viridian City gym leader.
