the idea of Ash just... being able to hand any source of information Kukui needs but somehow just doesn't have a way to receive it, like redacted or exclusive scientific documents, is really funny to me. because like majority of the time its information on something Ash did or one of his many Pokémon. He gets sent copies both physically and electronically, so he just texts the PDF's to the professor after asking Kukui what's wrong after seeing the man's tenth sulking episode with a school day.

it's even funnier if you add the fact Kukui knows nothing of Ash's life besides the basics of what Delia told him and what he's seen so far. which it's like see a god walk amongst mortals because Ash is basically an uncensored library that doesn't care if it's being used as long as it or Ash is fed.

I must’ve pitched that a month or two ago…

Y’see. I take most of my inspiration from a combination of the anime and games. If a Pokemon from the same species can teach what’s normally egg moves (let alone move tutors), then it should stand to reason that Pokémon can be taught it like a normal move too. It’d make no sense of Pokemon without the gene to know it, can technically learn it from humans—cannot learn it otherwise. Plus, I really like fanfics/stories that focus on unused details in Dex entries (Twisted Garden, Erika AU—Pinnacle Platinum), those that look at a Pokémon’s physical attributes to where they should be able to learn a move (fangs = should be able to learn Bite, To Live is To Dream Spacebattles, Ambit), and those who make their own custom moves (Pinnacle Platinum again and To Live is To Dream).

I feel like there are so many options most people won’t consider because they follow the game rules too strictly. The Hisuian Evolutions are mostly locked to Hisui, with some being available in ScarVio. But some like H. Lilligant and H Avalugg are game locked. Pokémon are more resilient than animals and it isn’t so far fetched wild ones have different methods to evolve. There are wild Gengar, Alakazam, Magmortar, Electivire, etc…

Some evolutions—like Goomy to the shelled Steel-Dragon Hisuian Sliggoo feels like more than simply exposing them to iron rich water is required. Hisuian Goodra and Kalosian Goodra fight in entirely different ways technically. So again, a more defensive mindset in Goomy combined with a move like Acid Armor to give it a base to go in. Feels like a potential breakthrough.

I Headcannon that Raihan also has a job of a historian as the Hammerlocke stadium doubles as a gym but also a library of Galar’s history and restoration of old artifacts.

So he uses his love for books as a way to change his language to wax poetry about Ash akin to a galarian victorian man waxing poetry about his incoming bride.

Ash is just standing to the side looking exasperated in a loving way and blandly telling the person “I told you so.”
