Reposted from @hauserwirth On the occasion of the final day of ‘Annie Leibovitz: Stream of Consciousness,’ on view at Hauser & Wirth 22nd Street, ‘Ursula’ invites you to the historic Great Hall at The Cooper Union for an unforgettable conversation with artists Annie Leibovitz and Amy Sherald, moderated by President of the Ford Foundation, Darren Walker. 

‘Annie Leibovitz: Stream of Consciousness’ presents a group of works by the distinguished American artist. Foregoing a linear timeline or conventional thematic constraints, the exhibition is conceived to reveal glimpses into Leibovitz’s highly associative thought processes, creating a fluid visual dialogue among photographs that aren’t anchored in the moment they were made.

‘Stream of Consciousness’ includes landscapes, still lifes and portraits, including a portrait of artist Amy Sherald in her childhood home.

#isolationartschool #isolationcreation , working on my head model piece to hold my #machineembroidery collage for my #bekindtoyourmind summer project. #upcycled an old wig stand with #papercollage using pages from a copy of the #brooklynrail newspaper I picked up at @momaps1 and I particularly liked the blackness of the #hauserandwirth advert for the skull part which will hold my textile piece, and an article about the recent #giletsjaunes strikes in France to cover the face. Had to add a #mask to tie in with my #mentalhealthawareness theme and this was made from a #hardrockcafe bag picked up from our #nyc trip in February. A multidisciplinary exhibition curated by Nigerian-American writer and critic enums presents work by artists #LornaSimpson, #OlafurEliasson, #HaleyMellin, #KikiSmith #JennyHolzer, #PamelaPhatsimo, #BillieZangewa, #AdamaDelphine, #AmaCodjoe, #RashidJohnson and #CassiNamoda.

In the words of Okoro, the presentation ‘encourages us all to consider ways of decentering ourselves from the prevalent anthropocentric narrative, to reimagine a more intimate relationship with the earth and to renew our connection with the life-force energy that surges through all of creation, both human and more-than-human.’
