Summer fun is over, though here in much of the United States we're experiencing the heatwaves, so it's a perfect day for the beach day! But technically it is Fall and it's the time for “works & days.” But don’t be sad! Take Sigmar Polke (1941 –2010) as an inspiration to get through this semester with a sense of humor, curiosity, and imagination with floods of color and experiments, experiments, and more experiments. POLKE, SIGMAR (Alemania, 1941) 

Este artista se dedica a la pintura y se le incluye en el estilo alemán postmodernista dentro del pop art. Fundador del realismo capitalista, este artista se apropiaba del lenguaje de la publicidad y los medios de comunicación. Trata de forma irónica el capitalismo occidental. Su obra es de caracter social y sátirico, poniendo en el punto de mira la información manipulada por los medios y la cultura de masas. Entre otras obras, ha realizado una obra pictórica que, bajo el tratamiento adecuado, cambia de color con la contaminación. Es un artista irreverente y anarquista. Ha obtenido varios premios como el de la bienal de Venecia o el Premio Erasmus en Ámsterdam en 1994.
