Demop to Bashi Creek

No cell service at bashi! At least not for Verizon. There is good signal here for the first time today and I believe the mile mark is around 121.

Check with other boats who will be leaving with you in the morning and have someone call the lock. They will tell you what to expect timewise and then you can plan your departure.

This was the first leg where an alligator was spotted. Mile 158 was where a giant gator was sun bathing and didn’t seem to notice all the boat traffic. I’m not planning on doing much swimming until the gulf.

The water level is supposed to be a few feat low right now and it is advised not to cut corners. The middle of the channel had plenty of depth all the way. Easy rolling. Bashi was pretty neat. Some people didn’t like how narrow it was but there is plenty of depth and it reminds you of the jungle book. Take your dingding as far up the creek as you dare… If Bashi is full there is plenty of space to anchor in the channel right across from the Bashi entrance.
