Evaluation
Overall I really enjoyed doing this project, as I got to learn a lot about businesses and advertising. I really liked how my website pages turned out as I had spent a lot of time on them, I also added colours in my website that really matched the personality of the people I am aiming my products at. I thoroughly enjoyed making my website and would love to show my creative skills by doing something similar on Indesign again. Another part of this unit I loved was hand making my adverts, as I feel a lot of the time I can show most of my creative skills through working on paper. My magazine was really fun to make and it came out better than I expected, it had images inside which went really well together as I tried to make it look as retro as possible for my vintage feel of marketing. But the one area of my work I enjoyed the most putting together was my mood board, this is were I could really put together what my business would have in it, and what types of products (colours, fabrics and types of people) I would be aiming my items at. I had success in choosing out different types of fabrics and images for each time period (starting on the left hand side with the 60s going on to the 70s and 80s). I chose quite dark colours for the 60s (black, brown and dark green), 70s had brighter colours (light browns, glittery colours and light oranges), then last I had chosen 80s with the neon and bright colours (pink, lime green, silver and gold). I thought it all came together really well, and you didn't need any barrier to tell you which time period each side of page was.
At the beginning of this assignment I planned on creating a vintage clothing brand which sold clothing starting in a time period in the 60s going upwards, that sold Mens and Women’s clothes, shoes and accessories. Which is exactly what I carried out even after doing research, as I later discovered that this is what other vintage clothing brands do. I already had a rough idea of what market they were aiming their products at, their prices and what types of clothes they would usually sell, this is because I personally buy my own Vintage clothes from time to time, which is why I felt vintage clothes would be a good business to start, because I could interact a little more and enjoy setting it up as I too enjoy shopping with what I would be selling, which is good to have a passion with what you’re selling. Which in the end meant I got everything done which I had wished to achieve, because I already knew what types of clothes and prices I would be looking at, and I've got an insight into the market because I am part of it. But I guess if I had possibly changed how I was to approach this again, I would of added my of line of clothes as well, which would've made me more involved with designing and feel like maybe it was more of my own business, but then it wouldn't have met my guidelines of everything being recycled items (second hand and so on). Most of the research I had carried out helped me a lot as it gave me influence with my pricing, items of clothing, market audience, style of website, type of advert and logo inspiration. If I didn't have the research to help me I would've found this assignment a lot harder, as all the research I had done gave me so much help and my work wouldn't be the same if I hadn't gotten the research. Having the choice to experiment on In design with my adverts and website was really interesting as when I thought I had completed a section of my work, I would usually go back on my work and change it (colours etc.). Most of my practical work related to my research as all my research gave me inspiration on the way I set out my adverts and website pages. The research also help me to choose how to take my images for my advert and website, and which clothes of mine to choose from (as I mostly have vintage clothes). The websites also gave my influence on which types of deals I should have on my own website (student discount and free delivery). All my research helped create my end result as I've explained.
I could've improved my project by spending more time on my instagram adverts as I think they turned out a little rushed (the image I had chosen and the fuzziness of my instagram boarder) and things didn't look quite up to standard like my website did, but I was struggling with finding a good quality boarder but I could've asked for someones help. In this project I've developed a new understanding of businesses and adverts and what type of business would be best for certain types of people (money saving or people with a slight interest). I found my strengths to be scattered all around this project as I've mentioned before and what I didn't do so well.
This project has helped me find that I have a certain style I work with on In design which is simplistic yet nice to look at with enough information, and I would like to carry this on if I was ever to use Indesign again. I also learnt that taking pictures on an iPhone 8 means the quality would be just as good as a really high quality camera, which is something I would like to use for next time I'm taking photos as it is also so quick and easy to use without having to fiddle with too many settings (like a usual camera would have). Im going to remember what I have learnt in business and this could help me in the future with later work.

My Magazine advert
I could improve this advert by adding my brands name, also getting rid of the white blocks around the text. I liked the image I used. I made this advert on in design

My Instagram advert
I love the way I added the image in between two of the pink blocks, I got the idea off of my website. I could’ve improved the advert by making the instagram block around my advert a little less pix-elated

My mind map and mood board

First website page
Both of my website pages for me were a real help for me to realise what type of creative skills I have when I have a little inspiration off of research. I really liked the simply colours and shapes I used because that meant my website wasn't to hectic to use and look at. As I am aiming my business at a relatively young market I tried to add pretty colours but yet add discounts and free delivery to capture more of the younger market, I also added a sale which would attract people who are still students as they might not have as much money to spend. I could've improved the website pages by adding an image on the first website page as you don't get a feel for what the clothes are as soon as the page loads

My business
Im going to have an online business that will be selling vintage clothing. What I am going to do is either buy or be donated clothes, then sell them on my website. On my website it will have men and womens clothes (trouser/jeans, tops, jumpers, coats/jackets, shoes and branded items). The clothes that I'm going to re sell will have to have a certain standard otherwise people won't recommend my website and I won't have returning customers. Im going to advertise by creating and instagram ad and being featured in a magazine. I know that this histogram is a good choice of advertisement as its now considered the best social media site to invest your companies money, as you'll see further down in my blog.

The best places to invest your ad money now:
1. Facebook
2. Instagram
3. Twitter
4. Pinterest
5. Linkedln
6. Snapchat
Benefits of advertising through social media include:
. Grow your sales and your fan base
. Use customer generated content for ads (which perform better)
. Better target net new and returning customers (so you waste less money)
. A/B test on the fly, using platform analytics to determine winners
From my research I believe opening an online business is better than opening a store, thats why Im going to set it up online. Also I'm going to be choosing Instagram to advertise my products as its considered one of the best social media sites to invest your money into as a business.

Online business
Why I want to start an online business instead of opening a store:
1.Reduced overheads – in general, an online store costs less to set up and run than a physical shop.
2.Lower marketing costs with better targeting: online promotion can be more precisely aimed at potential customers than using conventional media.
3.Expanded geographical reach: a local business can become nationwide or, depending on the product, international, just through having an effective e-commerce strategy.
4.Being open for business 24/7: with automated order and payment processing, sales can be made at any time, and customers can buy when it suits them.
5.Greater flexibility: an online store can be updated instantly and as often as you like.

Fashion blog: Danielle Bernstein
This is Danielle Bernstein a fashion blogger Ive researched into. Her blog is on a famous social media site (instagram), on this she has all these images of her wearing clothes which she is paid to wear by clothing companies (materielbilisi, ssobydanielle and many more) they supply her with these clothes and shell post an image of herself wearing these clothes while tagging the company’s name. This for her is a business platform. She currently has over 1million people following this instagram account that she has created. I chose to research into account as she out of a lot of the ones I looked at, stood out with the different styles of clothes she wore and the amount of sponsors she gets, so this will help me with my business research

Items I would sell in my business
Down below this post there are 7 items (posts) that I would sell within my business, they have the price and the item description. The prices start from £10 all the way to £70 (going up in 10s), having a designer item priced at £70 and jumpers, coats/jackets, jeans and tops starting and going over £10. I knew how to price my items at a good and fair price as doing my research into other vintage stores helped me understand how to price an item without being to expensive for a second hand item. The rearer the item the more expensive it'll be.
