I realised I never shared this here, but this is my headcanon for the Joey Richter family tree.

There are a few things I need to explain, though:

> Owen's children: Curt having a bunch of children he doesn't know about is a headcanon Curt Mega (the actor) has shared before and I believe the same thing to be true for Owen. The Spankoffski mother is a special case, though: She was a child born from an affair Owen had during his time as DMA and he learned about her when her mother died a few years later. Since she didn't have anyone else, Owen took her in and raised her together with Curt.

> Ezekiel: Ezekiel used to be a human with the touch of the gift who was killed by Hatchetmen and planted in Witchwood Forest, binding his soul to a tree. When that tree was cut down for Perky's farm, his soul was released and instead went into the weed grown there. When the nighthawks ate the weed, they also absorbed the souls of those planted in that part of Witchwood, so the human souls, identities and memories got all mixed up with those of the birds.

> Joey Richter: The Joey Richter in this family tree is the Joey Richter from Me and my Dick. He grew up to become an actor who played Jangle in Santa Claus is going to High School and Bob Cratchit in a very popular prouction of A Christmas Carol. Ezra Richter is Joey's drama student from NPMD

I love that in npmd Grace is just not threatened by Max whatsoever.

That is the face of someone with no natural predators. Like I understand that he doesn't give her a hard time but you'd think at least a rumor would make it her way. But no, the way she acts around him implies that she has no idea he is a person other people are scared of.

And I know it's probably because she doesn't have a lot of friends and therefore has none to tell her, but I like to think it's actually because Max has gone to extreme lengths to protect his image around her.

I can just imagine him punching someone in the face and ends the interaction with "and if you tell Grace Chasity about this I will fucking find you."

i love the idea of hatchetfield being such an accepting town when it comes to gender and sexual identity. minus the occasional grace, you've got all these cultists and corrupted businesses and evil eldritch gods but they're still gonna insult or accuse you with the correct pronouns. i respect that.

Surface level observation I made earlier that Wilbur and the apple function as a metaphor for temptation like the snake and apple in Genesis. He has an apple when he talks to Linda and he's tempting her into joining Wiggly's forces with talk of adoration and love. In that case Linda is the Eve figure and the 'original sin' would be bringing on Wiggly's birth. He has an apple when he talks to Howie and criticises how corporations tempt the working class into buying useless shit they don't need. In that case the working class are a collective Eve figure and the 'original sin' would be mindlessly feeding into consumerism until it explodes in their faces (quite literally).
