Another Time, Another Place
Summary: Harvey's wife (Reader) gets stuck while working on a case and she requires his assistance to get unstuck.
Prompt: “What? Isn’t this the book you wanted?”
Pairing: Harvey Specter x Reader/OFC (3rd person, she/ her)
Content Warning: Nothing much, really. Implied spice, but no explicit spice.
She pulled her gaze from her laptop, rubbing at her eyes as she glanced around the room after sending an email. Most of the partners—both the senior and junior designees—stayed far away from the law firm’s library. They had little need for the space, what with being granted their own resplendent offices, complete with the comforts of their own design—furniture and decor and views that reflected their status and clout at the firm…
So it was rare to find department heads there, excepting for the odd instances when they deigned to stretch their legs, drifting down to the library to follow up with an associate or paralegal assigned to their case in person rather than sending an email, but she had always liked the library. She often preferred its special brand of quiet, the near-silence imbued with the tense buzz of people working on their own time-sensitive assignments, almost like the parallel play of toddlers. Almost like they were all still students studying for exams and writing papers.
The room was empty now though, the hour too late for even the most diligent of associates, the most hungry of them, but it had always reminded her of her days back in school…her days as a novice associate. Even now, she sometimes preferred the space to her own office the same way she’d once preferred the space to her little cubicle in the bullpen. Back when she was an associate, there had been no hour too late, no hour that she wouldn’t spend in the library with a pile of books and her mind wound tightly throughout the intricacies of a case, trying to craft a win for herself. For her mentor. For her clients.
It wasn’t often these days that she needed to keep such late hours. And somewhere along the line, she’d become the one mentoring novice attorneys. She’d sent her own associate home hours ago, preferring to work through this particularly rough bit of research on her own. Once in a while, she liked that sort of challenge. Liked revisiting the grueling all nighters she’d once lived on a daily basis.
And she could feel she was close now, the puzzle pieces in her mind’s eye nearly falling into place. Nearly…but there was something she was missing. Something blocked that she couldn’t quite work through. In a library containing thousands of volumes and a whole internet of answers, she just couldn’t find what she needed.
Or, more likely, she couldn’t access it, her mind not making the right connections.
She probably just needed to get some sleep, to look at things with a fresh mind, but that wasn’t in the cards tonight, not with an impending deadline.
A short break would have to do. She just needed an influx of energy, a slight bit of distraction to pull her mind away from the issue just enough to give perspective.
Pushing back from her laptop, she turned the volume on her wireless headphones up, letting the club hits she used to dance to during undergrad house parties soothe some part of her soul, almost as if the familiar beats unlocked something in her, loosening muscles she hadn’t even realized were tense. Not that it was a surprise. She’d been hunched over the table for hours, not even bothering to stop for dinner, taking only a few obligatory bites of the sushi Harvey had ordered for her while her eyes remained glued to her computer.
She let her focus slip away now though, slipping off her heels and closing her eyes as she sang along to the song in her headphones. She imagined she was in another time, another place—far away from the library and the case, the music easily carrying her away.
She started, eyes flying open as she danced into something solid, the scent of a familiar cologne tickling her senses as she stumbled. Harvey’s hand closed around her back, steadying her as she pulled her headphones off, letting them hang around her neck.
Harvey smirked at the noise still blaring through the silent library from the headphones, a song he knew just as well as she did, the sound of it dredging up at least half a dozen memories—images of his own college days, images of the two of them on road trips, images of her cleaning the apartment, images of their wedding, images of a handful of other times he’d come across her in the firm’s library late at night…
“Hey fruitcake, what are you doing?”
She rolled her eyes at the reference as she turned down the volume, allowing the memories and the music to fall away, her mind temporarily focused on finding the right retort, her mind gratefully sifting through Dirty Harry quotes rather than case law research.
Harvey watched her, letting the quiet stretch between them, some part of him gratified at the sight of her slightly disheveled appearance. Harvey liked something about the juxtaposition, of seeing her just slightly less put together than she usually was in the hallowed halls of their law firm, her blazer discarded on a chair, her shirt sleeves rolled, her feet bare, bright red toenails stark against the dark carpets.
Not that he wasn’t used to seeing her like that. She was the type of girl who was almost always in sweats just minutes after arriving home. She’d actually been dressed that way when they first met, years and years ago in a different law library, in a different set of hallowed halls.
Sometimes, especially times like this, it felt like it was just yesterday.
Harvey pulled his eyes back to her face to find her studying him, a certain eagerness lighting her eyes. His lips formed a fond smile again.
“I thought you were hard at work down here?” he taunted, eyebrows raising.
“Well…” she started, leaning a bit of weight onto the arm that still lay snaked around her back, “for the past three-quarters of an hour, I’ve been sitting on my ass waiting for you.”
Harvey smirked. It was one of the things he loved about her: that she could go toe to toe with him with most things—movie references, the law, a few choice other things…
Nevermind the fact that she’d emailed him requesting his ‘assistance’ mere minutes ago…
Harvey gently massaged her lower back with the fingers he still had splayed there before shifting his arm away, abstaining from letting his hand drift down to the aforementioned ass, another thing he loved about her.
Her lips pursed at the sudden absence of Harvey’s touch and she pulled her arms up to fold over her chest.
“I brought that help you wanted.”
She refrained from smiling as she read the title of the paperback he pushed into the space between them—Law for Dummies—even as he smirked, giddy as a school child. She had gifted the book to him upon his law school graduation, and it had occupied a shelf in his various cubicles and offices ever since.
She doubted it had ever been much help, but it gave them a good laugh from time to time, something which was like a balm to the harshness of life sometimes, a healing salve for the seemingly chronic stress of their lives.
“Very clever, Harvey.”
“What?” he asked, gaze drifting from her unimpressed face down to the black and yellow front cover. “Isn’t this the book you wanted?”
Harvey’s voice sounded so innocent—so sincere—that she almost laughed. Christ, he was good. If law hadn’t worked out, he could’ve given acting a shot. Comedy, maybe.
“Did my email say anything about a book, Mr. Specter?” she asked, taking the tome from his hands and tossing it on a nearby table with a thump.
Harvey hummed. “Come to think of it, your email was a little…vague. Left a lot to the imagination.”
“Mhmm…” She nodded. “The details of the specific type of assistance I require of you is something I suspect neither one of us would want in writing. Wouldn’t want it read aloud in a court of law…” Her eyes traveled Harvey’s face, clocking the light in his eyes and the tug of his smile. “Or by the IT department,” she added as an afterthought, the briefest bit of alarm washing over her features at the idea.
“You think Benjamin is reading our email exchanges?” Harvey asked. “That’s kind of—”
She pushed at his chest before he could get the word out—kinky.
“Harvey,” she groaned, not because she didn’t enjoy the childish side of him. She did. She loved it, actually, but she had asked him down here for a reason…
“Yes, Mrs. Specter?”
To most of the world, both here at the office and in the eyes of the U.S. government, she went by her maiden name. She had kept her own name, both professionally and legally, for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which being that she was not a man’s property, not even if Harvey Specter was the man in question. But between the two of them, it still thrilled her when he called her that, made her feel so thoroughly his—and him so thoroughly hers—that her toes curled into the carpet, a movement that Harvey clocked as he stepped closer, one arm wrapping around her as he used the other to guide her face up to him with a hand under her chin.
“What specific type of assistance is it that you require of me?”
Whatever she asked for…whatever she needed…Harvey would readily give her the world if she wanted it. If it would make her happy. If she needed it. He’d do anything.
It was a truth they both knew. And it was reciprocal. She’d do the same for him.
But all she wanted—all she needed—just now was him.
This.
Well, this…and a way to win her case, but as she kissed her husband’s lips, allowing him to guide them both back towards the stacks, thoughts of the case fell away until all that existed in the world was two people alone in a library, each of them falling a bit further in love, as they had once done long ago in another time, another place.

Hello, I don't usually ask questions on social networks, but I wanted to know what you think of a story where our human friend suffers an accident aboard the lost light in the Brainstrom laboratory and now the bots are able to see his thoughts. Bonus points if it's weird stuff (most of our minds are very weird), (sorry if something is poorly translated, I'm writing this with the translator) ^^)
One, I absolutely adore this concept.
Two, did you know there are people that think in pictures rather than use an internal voice?
And to top it off, people go around referencing pop culture, iconic scenes, memes, and their favorite media as well as the weird, intrusive thoughts and extreme, nonsensical daydreams...
I like to think there would be a media war between the Cybertronians that never went to Earth and only know beloved cartoons and shows and memes from the weird reenactment from the resident human's mind but with the Lost Light crew getting morphed into it versus the Cybertronians that actually had direct experience and personally downloaded those shows and movies.
As the "I Ship It" song goes, canon ground versus crack ship space.
Does anyone else remember those Naruto animation videos where the Akatsuki are drawn drunk or doing hilarious dances? The human looked up the Decepticon Justice Division, cross referenced on what they do, and immediately thought of a full sequence of the D.J.D. doing the Gang Torture Dance from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
The human thinks of sequences, including but not limited to:
Ultra Magnus as Steve Harvey from Family Feud with Rodimus with the "Nekkid Grandma!" bit
Rodimus doing "Goofy Goober Rock" because Roddy would love to be suspended in the air and dressed in wizard swag with a killer rip on a peanut-themed guitar. Drift has the legs to fulfill Patrick's fishnet-and-heels dance.
Megatron and Ratchet in The Office because he would stare deep into the camera at whatever new trouble has plagued the ship
Getaway and Rodimus doing the "Tony and Ezekiel" bit
So many fire-related memes: Elmo and the "This is fine." Dog.
The overlap of Rodimus in Gurren Lagen and Bang Brave Bang Bravern
The continuously weirder and weirder thoughts on how Cybertronian strip club would look like based on Futurama, Cyberpunk, and Night runner's Magnum Bullets. "Snu-snu" bit included. It's both highly ridiculous, strangely erotic, and absolutely terrifying at the same time to the Lost Light crew.
Whenever a mech does something stupid, the human immediately reimagines the mech in Wheel of Fortune fails, or a shoving potatoes in the exhaust
Nightbeat in a noir setting or as Sherlock Holmes
Rung is "Mister Cellophane" from Chicago
Assigned character theme songs
The last bullet causes so much drama because mechs want to have really cool or badass themes, but no! The human assigns them sex or porn songs like "Life is a Highway" and "Shut Up and Drive" and "Two Trucks," or something silly like "Barbie Girl" or the opening theme to Mega XLR or the sad song on the world's smallest violin to the poor bastard that gets stuck with the engex bill at the end of the night.
#ask#transformers#transformers idw#idw#mtmte#reader insert#rodimus#rodimus prime#ultra magnus#drift#megatron#getaway#nightbeat#rung#Ratchet#culture clash#cultural misunderstandings#maccadam#my thoughts#the hilarity of the crew quoting SpongeBob or the Office or Parks and Recreations is hilarious to me#the resident human becomes the crew's beloved form of entertainment especially for the Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune fails

Previous Versions of Frozen (Rewrite)
The development of Frozen is famously known to be messy and obscure. Messy, because of the many last-minute changes made even months before the film released. Obscure, because the many versions there were before the final film are kept secret, with only slight tidbits being released and shown, leaving the previous stories being up to one's own imagination.
In my previous attempt to uncover the previous versions of Frozen, there was a lot of information left out or unknown to me at the time, and even some things I got wrong. Thus, I wanted to do a more in depth look at the possible previous Frozen stories, and update any misinformation.
Feel free to comment sources if there is something I missed.
Part 1 - Before Frozen
As everyone knows, Frozen was first considered to be an adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen. However, over the development of the film, the creative team had decided that it would no longer be an adaptation, as at this point, they were just inspired by the fairy-tale and some of its themes – a Snow Queen, an Evil Mirror, an Act of True Love, and a Frozen Heart. Everything else was left alone, with only fan interpretations of what else could’ve been used, but never officially stated.
Before Frozen was even considered, there were couple attempts at adapting The Snow Queen. A common mistake made by many fans is incorrectly assigning concept art, songs, and story ideas from earlier adaptions of The Snow Queen. However, these versions are not actually Frozen, but completely different stories and attempts to adapt the fairy-tale.
The Biography Attempt -- 1937 – 1942
The first attempt at adapting the Snow Queen was to include the story in a bio-pic of Hans Christian Anderson. The Snow Queen was one of the stories that were going to be told in this bio-pic, alongside his other famous works. The rocky development for this bio-pic began in 1937, and ended in 1942 when the USA entered World War II, as Disney shifted into time on War Propaganda, officially halting the production of this project.
The first completed concept of the Snow Queen segment specifically was coined by Mary Goodrich in 1938, a researcher, who wanted to explore the theme of regeneration through faith. It was very faithful to the original tale, and was actually fully complete. However, Norwegian-born researcher Karl Berggrav dismissed the story. He said that while it was a technically good film, with the story being well-written and had no loose ends, it was boring and uninspired.
"This story rounds off everything nicely and ties up loose ends, but it is very uninteresting and just fades out into nothing, or worse than nothing, banality. It is hard to make good animation out of it.” - Karl Berggrav, The Art of Frozen, pg. 10
Walt Disney himself attempted to adapt the story in 1940, but as a live action and animated film. Hans Christian Anderson everyday life would be filmed in live action, while his stories were to be animated. This was going to be a co-production with Samuel Goldwyn and his new studio Samuel Goldwyn Productions, where they would film the live-action sequences.
The Snow Queen -- 1990 – 2006
There were multiple attempts at adapting The Snow Queen during the renaissance era and after. Harvey Fierstein took a chance to pitch an idea for The Snow Queen, but it was shot down. Even Glen Keane attempted to try his hand at an adaption, but just couldn’t find a way to turn the Snow Queen into the sort of fully realized character.
Then, a new team took on the adaptation in 2000. The main idea that the creative team wanted to have was to omit the Trolls and the mirror, trying to explore different ways for Kai to be abducted by the Snow Queen. There was one version of Kai wanting to impress Erica (Gerda's first name change) by joining a whaling ship. The Snow Queen was often shown in artwork riding an orca all over the sea.
There were other versions that followed this initial premise with more comical side characters, ranging from penguins to walruses to, of course, Snowmen. The strangest outline for this version was how Greta (another name change for Gerda) was a devious gold digger, leading Kai to marry the Snow Queen instead.
The Snow Queen was described as a 'Taming of the Shrew" type character, who had a frozen heart that needed to be melted away by the warm and loving Kai.
I love The Taming of the Shrew idea. Take Martha Stewart. She’s tough, smart — a worthy adversary. If she were a doormat of a woman, no one would go after her. -Michael Eisner, Disney War
The artwork for this version was considered to be beautiful and inspiring, but the narrative was simply not compelling enough. Thus, the story was ultimately scrapped and shelved.
The below concepts are often mistaken for early ideas for Frozen, often named early designs for Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa - however, they are actually from the 2000-2003 version of The Snow Queen, while others are from even earlier versions, and are featuring completely different characters.
The project was later brought back in 2006, but not for animation - but instead as a stage musical for Tokyo DisneySea at thier Broadway Music Theater. It was going to be directed by Amon Miyamoto, written by John Weidman and Glenn Slater and Alan Menken writing the music. However, it was also scrapped.
The reason I bring this version up, is because a song penned by Slater and Menken is often pushed as early love song that Kristoff was supposed to sing. However, it was not a Kristoff song at all. Love Can't be Denied was a song that was written for this stage musical, with no real details about who it was written for or its purpose in the plot.
youtube
There are many reasons claimed why, but it is often contributed to Disney wanting the Snow Queen Adaptation to be a film, not a stage show. Menken was even reported to try his hand at making it an animated musical, but it never went through.
For years, (Disney had been) working on “The Snow Queen,” first as a stage piece, and then as an animated film, but that got shelved. Clearly, animated films are big commitments and it takes a lot for Disney to greenlight one. - Alan Meken, Jim Hill Media
Part 2 - Previous Versions of Frozen
After John Lasseter was given the reigns of Disney Animation Studios after the Disney merger with Pixar, he wanted to try and adapt this story again. Lasseter convinced his old friend Chris Buck to come back to the studio, and try his hands at another Snow Queen Musical film. Thus, the development of Frozen officially began.
"I pitched several ideas to John, and ‘The Snow Queen’ was one that he'd been interested in for a while. I pitched a musical version of it that he seemed excited by. So we started developing that project. This was back in 2008, around September.” - Chris Buck, The Art of Frozen, pg. 11
Starting 2008, Frozen went through a few versions before Jennifer Lee, Robert Lopez, and Kristen Anderson-Lopez entered the production in 2012. While Jennifer Lee was aware of the project while she was working on Wreck-it-Ralph, as the company typically has round-tables for their animated featured where all of their writers can give notes, she was not officially brought on as writer and then later as director, until 2012.
Both of these versions featured the introduction of Anna and Kristoff as replacements for Gerda and Kai, as adults instead of children. However, there were a few different ideas for The Snow Queen character that would prove to be the biggest obstacle.
Anna and the Snow Queen 2008-2010
The first version of Frozen was called Anna and the Snow Queen. There seems to have been a couple attempts at perfecting this story, none of which really made it to the final cut, due to the difficulty of making the Snow Queen character compelling. This version was meant to have hand-drawn animation at first.
Anna and the Snow Queen is very obscure, and not much exists for its early story ideas other than a few ideas sources from interviews and concept art by Claire Keane.
The Snow Queen Character (she was given the name Elsa at this stage) was based off of Bette Midler (some sources say that she was also meant to be her voice actress) She would take on a very Diva persona, and was of course a villain. Anna at this time was depicted as 'up-tight', and often was shown as some sort of secretary or assistant to the Snow Queen.
Kristen Bell was cast as Anna before anyone else had joined the team, after she had initially auditioned for the role of Rapunzel for Tangled. Josh Gad was cast a little after, however the Olaf he was voicing was a very different character, much like Anna.
"I was originally involved in the project when it was a 2D effort and it was called Anna and the Snow Queen, and it was completely different. Completely different. Megan Mullally was playing Elsa and it wasn’t really about sisterhood at all. I think it had more to do with the source material of Hans Christian Andersen’s story. When I did that version, Olaf was a different character entirely." - Josh Gad, MSN Entertainment
What the story for this version is often conflicting. Anna goes to the Snow Queen to have her heart frozen after she is dumped at the alter, releasing Elsa from an ice prison. The below concept art by Claire Keane shows Anna as a bride looking for the Snow Queen, supporting this interpretation.
However, other artwork by Keane suggests that Anna is possibly working for the Snow Queen as an assistant of some kind, as shown in the concepts below, and is also supported by the 'up-tight' secretary Anna concepts. It is possible, however, that after going to the Snow Queen to freeze her heart, she ends up working for her. You can also see the Bette Midler inspirations in some of Elsa's character designs.
After this period, Anna and The Snow Queen was actually shelved for around one year in 2010, before being brought back in 2011 and renamed to Frozen. It was also around this time that the idea for it to be hand drawn was scrapped, with the film shifting to 3D animation.
It was seemingly brought back with a story about a prophecy that says that Arendelle would be destroyed by a "Ruler with a Frozen Heart." The characters in the story would assume that this was Elsa, the self-proclaimed Snow Queen (Anna and Elsa were not royalty at this time, nor were they sisters) only for it to be revealed that it was Hans (possibly named Admiral Westergaard).
Frozen was to open with a prophecy that "a ruler with a frozen heart will bring destruction to the kingdom of Arendelle." We're then introduced to Anna, our pure-hearted heroine, and Elsa, an unrelated evil Snow Queen. We learn Elsa is a scorned woman; she was stood up at the altar on her wedding day and froze her own heart so she would never love again. Both Elsa and the audience assume she's the villain from the prophecy. Fast-forward to the final act: Elsa creates an army of snow monsters to attack our heroes while Kristoff has "a Han Solo moment" and comes to help Anna. To halt Elsa's attacking army, the two-faced Prince Hans (Admiral Westergaard) triggers a massive avalanche—not caring that the avalanche also puts Anna, Elsa, and all of Arendelle in jeopardy. Anna realizes Elsa is their only hope, so she convinces her to use her powers to save the kingdom. The twist is that the prophecy from the beginning is actually not about Elsa, but about Hans—he's the one with a metaphorical frozen heart because he's an unfeeling sociopath. Elsa's heart is then unfrozen allowing her to love again. - Peter Del Vecho, Entertainment Weekly
This is also supported with what Santino Fontana says in his interview with Paul Wontorek. He claims that he was hired and paid for his lines in 2011, way before Jennifer Lee was officially involved with the project in 2012, and just after Frozen was brought back from its year hold.
This puts into perspective any claims about Jennifer Lee basing Hans' character after her ex-husband, or that Hans was originally meant to be a good guy until they needed a new villain to replace Elsa. Hans was always meant to be the real villain of Frozen and was seemingly created as soon as Anna and the Snow Queen became Frozen.
The Story of Sisters -- 2011-2012
During one of the round-table sessions, in which Jennifer Lee was involved in but was still not working on Frozen, someone within the session suggested that Anna and Elsa should be sisters. This was the first major breakthrough that helped shape the story.
This famous version of Elsa (onionElsa!) is meant to be based off of Amy Winehouse. It is unclear when Elsa's backstory transitioned from being that of a woman who was dumped at the altar, and being the more tragic villain that was forced to hide her magic.
Regardless, it was explained that this Elsa had ran away from her kingdom, and later on kidnapped Anna away from her wedding with Admiral Westergaard, trying to freeze her heart so that Anna would understand how she felt. It ended in the same way, however, with Hans being revealed as the true villain and Elsa getting a redemption.
It was also around this time that Anna's character was also getting a much needed re-working. Anna's 'up-tight' personality was removed with the help of Kristen Bell, who always had issues with Anna’s characterization. She pushed for Anna to be more quirky and awkward, with a strong desire for love and companionship. Idina Menzel was also brought on at this time, where the two actresses prepared a song (Wind Beneath my Wings) to see how their voices would match up.
This deleted scene below showcases this version of Elsa, voiced by Idina Menzel.
youtube
"We did a version where the Snow Queen was the villain, but we wanted to end with them reunited, and it was very hard to redeem her at the end. We decided on an adventure about two people who initially misunderstand each other; it allows for the bonding at the end.” - Peter Del Vecho, The Art of Frozen pg. 12
Jennifer Lee started on the project after all of this was already established, and tried to work out quite a few things with the story. Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez also came onto the project, and tried to write a few songs for this version - although, they didn't really like the story all too much.
One of the songs we know from this version was We Know Better. Interestingly, this is actually not the full song. It is supposed to end with Elsa's turn to becoming ‘evil’, and Anna becoming her 'up-tight' persona. This was omitted with a lot of earlier scenes of Elsa's evil nature (with the exception of the above clip) because the creative team wanted to try and distance Elsa away from this persona.
youtube
Another deleted song was called Cool With Me. @stitchkingdom saw a concert where Kristen and Bobby Lopez performed some deleted songs, some of which were never performed anywhere. Cool with Me was a song that came before Life's Too Short, and has details about Elsa kidnapping Anna and wanting her to feel her own pain.
The next breakthrough for the story was when the Lopezes wrote Let it Go. John Lasseter had often made notes about delving deeper with Elsa's character asking why she is a villain. Jennifer Lee also pushed for more depth when she was writing Elsa. However, Let it Go was the trigger that helped se things in motion for a new version of Frozen.
“The minute we heard the song for the first time, I knew that I had to rewrite the whole movie.” - Jennifer Lee
Now, Elsa was being completely re-written as a sympathetic character - no more villainous tendencies, no more intentionally cruel stunts. Elsa was made into a tragic character who was forced to hide who she was, and only wanted to protect Anna and her kingdom from her powers.
Olaf was also re-written at around this time, going from an obnoxious side-kick of Elsa's to a more innocent companion that would represent the love between the sisters.
The newest version of the story was a mash-up of the original prophesy version talked about above, but with new elements. This included a story about Anna feeling less than Elsa, and feeling like nothing more than a spare. Elsa was of course changed to her new sympathetic character, and runs away from Arendelle from fear rather than being angry at anyone.
The Duke of Weselton was also theoretically introduced at this stage, but not as a red herring to Hans, but instead as a care taker to the sisters after their parents passed away. Hans was also supposed to gift Anna a special snow globe that had some kind of thematic importance.
The following songs and scenes are some of the ideas from this version of Frozen.

At this point, the creative team was pretty confident that they had the story planned it out and it was ready to go. However, the team had decided that they were still having issues with the plot.
The Final Months - 2013
From February to June of 2013, there were extensive rewrites done to the film before having a test screening with both a family audience and adult audience.
One of the elements that were changed was the prophecy. After so many years, this story element was finally dropped. Then, Hans' sociopathy was explored more extensively by Jennifer Lee, and a character twist was pushed by John Lasseter to make his villainy more iconic.
Anna's feelings about being a spare was removed, as the creative team wanted to focus more on Anna wanting to find love rather than trying to prove herself (she was sounding a bit too much like Hans). The Duke was changed to being his current self.
Kristoff was actually changed as well, making him a bit more kind. However, when his character was changed is not clear, but we do know that Johnathan Groff pushed for him to be a bit more kind as well.
Some of the songs were also removed and replaced with the current versions we know and love today.
Conclusion
Frozen’s 10th Anniversary is coming up (here or passed depending on when this is read) making it a perfect time to talk about the journey Frozen went on throughout the years. It’s amazing to look back at all the attempts and stories, and see where Frozen ended up. It’s because of all these attempts, successes, failures, and hard-working people that we were able to get the Frozen that we have today.
Happy Frozen 10!

I feel like he'd listen to it while he's working out. He totally listens to rock and a lot of it's subgenres
The song is fun to play, it's groovy (literally and metaphorically), and it just feels like him yk
Elliott
Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
I think he's existential. He's a writer, how can he not be??
Totally spiritual, he just doesn't talk about it
One of those people who has a very polite and respectful relationship with the concept of death
Harvey
Burnin' For You - Blue Oyster Cult
He listens to classic rock sometimes… he wants to feel cool
Really lonely, but he's chill about it (on the outside 🥀💔⛓️)
Dad bod brings dad energy
Sam
Greener - Tally Hall
HERE'S THAT PART AGAIN WHERE EVERYTHING'S WHERE IT SHOULD B-
He's so… early 2000s rock music
Dramatic teenage boy I swear
He'd probably listen to Tally Hall– that's probably what his music sounds like too– or Good Kid
I resisted the urge to mark him as Even Flow
Sebastian
Reptilia - The Strokes
Oh, he is edgy, and oh, how his heart aches
He makes sure no one is at home and just screams it out I just know it
If he did vocals he'd probably sound like Julian Casablancas– or at least have the same energy
He probably listens to The Strokes anyway, it's Alt Rock and he's 100% the alt part
Shane
Under The Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers
He is… so very sad
The song is about,, subjects… subjects that apply to him
He'd probably be an RHCP fan
Abigail
Godzilla - Blue Oyster Cult
She's funny
She's a nerd, and she totally rocks the fuck out to this 😭
Probably tried to convince Sam and Sebastian to cover it, they absolutely agreed
Emily
Misery Fell - Tally Hall
She's weird and metaphorical
ABSOLUTELY one for peace and love and acceptance
Spiritual mom going through a midlife crisis - coded
Haley
Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears
I think it's very her in the sense that she's ambitious, but a little narrow minded
Probably listens to music in this style or from around this time for the aesthetic
This song has a really annoying structure, just like she's annoying to interact with before you gain her affection
Leah
Crooked Teeth - Death Cab For Cutie
She probably listens to Death Cab
Absolutely wrecked in her last relationship. She felt unloved, and, much like the song suggests, the relationship itself was going nowhere since neither party were really made for each other
She's so sweet and I love her like I love singing this song
Maru
Rio - Duran Duran
There's just something about it
I feel like she'd listen to Duran Duran to begin with
She's really unique– and special- she's very much different from the other Bachelorettes since almost all of them exist in my mind as the same archetype- like Rio, she is an individual

Hello there, thanks for stumbling across my blog!
(Here's a lil comic I made for a school assignment)
Artblog: @chronicallyartistic
Audio drama blog: @chronically-listeningtopodcasts
I'm going to start putting my social energy levels in my bio... There's a lot of stuff I want to respond to but i currently dont have the energy to do so, and so if I don't respond within like a day, check my bio and see that...
Who am I / Where else can you find me?
First of all, feel free to call me Eli!! I'm on the waiting list for an autism diagnosis. I am agender and aroace-spec.
I am verrryyy enthusiastic about the things I am interested in (hence the URL hehehe). And currently, those are: podcasts (theres a list at the bottom of the post), good omens, ofmd, bbc merlin, star trek!!!!, lotr, and probably more things that I am too tired to think of right now!
I use the queue! Im not awake at the ungodly hours i sometimes am seen posting at, I just dont want to utterly flood peoples dashes! I do reblog fandom stuff and things ive added anything to immediately, so if you see a few posts in short succession, im online!
I am a very big fan of the oxford comma and double brackets. Semicolons are pretty cool too. And ellipses are incredible.
i love all of my mutuals dearly!! Making cookies and hot chocolate for you all <33
I try to use tone tags as much as possible!
Boundaries:
Things I am okay with sharing/doing:
My age, gender/sexuality, things about my guinea pigs!!, and most other things
Things I am not okay with sharing/doing:
The city I live in, pictures of me/anyone I know, my full name, my birthdate, my phone number/email address, meeting up with people irl, sending/receiving money/gifts, dms (<- though if we're mutuals and interacted a lot dms are fine!!)
^ this applies to everyone im not in the discord with
I will let someone know if they cross boundaries, and *really* would like other people to let me know if I cross theirs!!
DNI: people who are here to spread hate and anger. Just, stay away. I dont engage in discourse. I know DNIs dont deterr these people, but this is a demonstration of my core values :)
Tags:
(At the top cause otherwise it will get lost) ALSO #tw body horror
I block quite a few tags but most notably #tw war and other ones to do with the war in israel/palestine. This is not because I don't care. I care so so so much about what is happening and I cry every time I see a post about it. It breaks my heart that such horrible things are happening. However, I really struggle with high empathy, and seeing a post about it can really affect me for a while, and I need tumblr to be a safe space away from the real world problems. If I follow you - please could you tag things to do with war. Thank you <3
Updated to clarify - I do block the generic tags such as Israel and Gaza, which most of the posts are tagged with by the op, so if you forget its no big deal!!
A list of all the podcasts I listen to because y'know, its fun:
Fiction:
The Amelia Project
Wooden Overcoats
The Adventure Zone
Sherlock & Co
Alba Salix
Unseen
And a whole lot more that i no longer listen to either because they havent updated or they are a little too creepy (Welcome to Night Vale falls into the latter category)
Science:
The Sci Guys
Lets Learn Everything
Lingthusiasm
A podcast of unnecessary detail.
Comedy/other:
Dear Hank and John
The Unmade Podcast
Books Unbound
Lateral
A book list of recommendations from mutuals for my own use:
abigail by Magda Szasbo (@mack-anthology-mp3)
The Alphabet of Candice Phee (@jamie-dinow)
A list of music reccomendations from mutuals:
in the lap of the gods revisited by queen, why can't i be you by the cure, pyramid song, and lucky & the tourist by radiohead, when the sun hits by slowdive, dancing barefoot by patti smith, tangerine by led zeppelin, autumn sweater by yo la tengo, rubber ring by the smiths, water by pj harvey (from @/mack-anthology-mp3)

This is very self-indulgent and I'm doing this for myself than for people but assigning SDV Marriageable Characters as Indonesian 2000s Pop/Rock songs (that I grew up with because my current fixation must blend with *my* culture)

thanks for the tag jo @liamlawsonlesbian <3
star sign: aries sun, capricorn moon, virgo rising. being chill and normal was never an option.
favorite holiday: probably Halloween 💀 as someone who loves horror and is a recovering theatre kid, it's perfect. plus, i'm gay.
last meal: three twizzlers & a litre of ginger kombucha
current favorite musician: i've been listening to a lot of Wolf Alice and SASAMI recently.
last song listened to: 'No Girl So Sweet' (PJ Harvey)
(a tangent... but if any of my mutuals want to stalk each other on Spotify pls lmk...)
last movie watched: Talk to Me (2023) dir. Danny & Michael Philippou. i watched it on my flight and it was honestly a lot better than i anticipated. even though gore isn't typically my favourite, i was pleasantly surprised by how they managed to integrate it into a possession film. loved the grief-driven storylines, and the characters charmed me. rating: ☆☆☆☆
last tv show watched: Betty (HBO) !!! i have debilitating crushes on everyone from Skate Kitchen.
last book finished: Empire of Wild by Cherie Dimaline. it was assigned in one of my first year uni courses and i sped through it without really taking the time to read it properly. now that i have it's been rotting my brain non-stop. her use of simile is insane.
i also recently finished An Anthropologist on Mars by Oliver Sacks. one of my all-time favourite authors and academics, would highly recommend this as a foray into 'medical' non-fiction.
last book abandoned: i don't think i've ever abandoned a book in my life, but i recently had to choke down this technical document about building codes that i can't be bothered to remember the title of.
edit: just remembered the absolute chore that was reading Outlawed by Anna North. i feel cheated and lied to by the cover because i love the cover, but the book is honestly unbelievably boring. i’m tired of the evangelical horse girl narrators, i had enough of those where i grew up. i did finish this because i hate quitting, but it tested my patience and made me feel like pulling my hair out.
currently reading: Milk Fed by Melissa Broder (for like the third time). this book is sooo weird and kind of gross, in the best way. it's definitely not going to appease everyone but i have a sick fascination with it and keep coming back. i've also been having a love affair with the cover design for a while now.
last thing researched for writing/art/hyperfixation: common apartment floorplans in Italy (if anyone has this info, hmu). i'm also in an internet sinkhole of background on the 2024 F2 grid and their respective karting histories.
favorite online fandom memory: when i was 15 i had public beef with a bunch of conservatives in a politician's comment section over pipelines and green policy and then said politician blocked me on every platform. this wouldn't be fandom related if not for the fact that i used my fan account to do all of this, so [redacted] had to search my cringe username multiple times... like omg are you a fan?
favorite old fandom you wish would drag you back in/have a resurgence: the euphoria that i felt being a part of the haikyuu fandom during quarantine will never be replicated, but i think about it every day.
favorite thing you enjoy that never had an active or big fandom, but you wish it did: i'm really into the original, morbid Grimm fairytales and wish that someone would produce a proper remake of Cinderella already. let the doves pick out the step sisters' eyes, cowards.
tempting project you don't have time for: this is a trick question because i always give into temptation regardless of whether i have time for it or not. i really want to do a series of deep-dive posts about track design and the 'architects' of f1... i've been fixated on it for a while now and haven't seen a lot of discussion about it, plus it seems like it would be fun to put all the research together :)
~ all the people i would tag have already posted, but pls do it if you'd like!

Hi Mercury!
Just popping by to say hi because it's been a while.
I was just wonering if you've got any particular movie/music/art inspiration in mind when you're writing for Menthol.
Hope you're doing good!
(And a happy new year to you!)
aaa happy new years, beloved pencil! ngl receiving this ask made me so excited and a lil emo,, it seems so personal ;-; <3
recently, @cyancherub and i have been listening to know your enemy by rage against the machine for the gang activity in the prequel – specifically delphi dogs. we've been listening to lots of 90's music to get in the menthol mood!
for aki and reader's friendship, i've been listening to as long as we're together by the lemon twigs. to me, it represents aki's feelings towards reader while they're growing up + into adulthood. the one-sided pining and heartache he'd feel watching her fall in love with other people, but he doesn't mind enduring it as long as they have each other. it may be a little delusional and unhealthy, but he's happy that way.
other songs i've been loving recently represent some side characters in the prequel – passive by a perfect circle represents naoya and the daddy issues i've assigned him. even though he's just a small part of the story, developing his character has been so much fun for me <3 other naoya songs include miss murder by afi and smile like you mean it by the killers.
another beloved side character is nomo – he's very briefly in chainsaw man, but i took his personality and interactions with aki and RAN with it, so he's basically an oc at this point. real tears have been shed over this man while we plot out menthol. the songs i listen to when characterizing him are hitchin' a ride by green day & flagpole sitta by harvey danger. nothing later than 1997 and there's a reason for that.
CASSIE AND I WATCH LOTS OF MOVIES TOGETHER & HAVE BEEN FOCUSING ON GANG/FIGHTING RELATED MOVIES TO TRY AND GET SOME MENTHOL INSPO... some movies we've watched recently are training day (2001) and southpaw (2015). personally, i've taken inspiration from all about lily chou-chou (2001) and hell dogs (2022). there's also a scene from constantine (2005) that i want to reference soo bad for the sequel... u know the one of him walking into the club...
for tv shows, i pull lots of inspiration for the gangs from daredevil (2015), mainly stuff from season three.
THIS POST IS ALREADY GETTING SO LONG AND I FEEL BAD ABOUT IT but for visual inspo, we've been considering making menthol mood-boards since the aesthetic is soo sexy. think stuff like fallen angels (1995). here are a few other pics that have menthol vibes to me in one way or another.
#IF U WANT TO KNOW MORE IN DEPTH ABOUT ANYTHING I WOULD LOVE TO EXPAND#mercury speaks#about: menthol#I WUV U#kisses ur forehead

Accompanied by three warriors, Pierig is forced to trace the origin of the evil that is eating away at the plant titan through each of its levels, and down to the very base if necessary. The Witches Of World War II GN - Paul Cornell & Valeria Burzo
In the darkest hours of World War II, Doreen Valiente (then known as Doreen Dominy), an expert on British folklore and the occult, is approached by British intelligence at Bletchley Park who tell her they know she's a witch... and that's how she can best serve her country. Together with the "most evil man in the world," a hard-nosed white witch, the grizzled founder of Wicca, and a professional exorcist and con man, Valiente will travel deep into the heart of Nazi-occupied Europe and gamble her life, her belief, and her powers on a mission to help capture Rudolf Hess, second in command to Adolf Hitler himself.
Whatcha scooping up this week, Fantom Fam?

use this as an excuse to talk about Aldridge and Marshall (and OCs)
You're amazing! Thank you✨️
Okokokokok so my brain is all over the place but I will try to make this coherent as possible! Will be using bulletpoints to help guide me.
Aldridge
•Thinking a lot about him visiting Montana. He wants to visit his parents and brother but also doesn't? He feels guilty about that. But works been hard and he just wants to relax. He doesn't need his mom making him feel bad for being him. But he also genuinely could use some of her kind words, but she hasn't been soft with him in years and he doesn't want to take the risk of her saying the same stuff over and over again.
•Also thinking about him and John. Working together. Hanging out outside of work. Aldridge's smug smile when John cancels all his prior plans so they can spend time together.
•For some reason, Aldridge meeting Harvey, Jorge and Andy (my brother's oc) has been on my mind. I know technically there's no possible way for it (maybe only Jorge bc I believe he would have been in Vietnam longer than a year) to happen bc they would be past Aldridge’s time but Eh I still like to think about it. Harvey is so sensitive and I think he wouldn't handle Aldridge well at first. But maybe Aldridge would see that Harvey's different and just kind of leave him alone? But also maybe not idk. But also the idea of Andy meeting Aldridge is so bananas to me because they are so different?! Poor Andy! I don't feel like that would go well sksksksk. Jorge is a nurse so I just would like to think about why Aldridge would have met him in the first place.
•Of course I can't mention Aldridge and not bring up Genevieve. I try not to mention them anymore too much on my blogs but I've been thinking a lot about them and just them starting their family and what that would be like. Very fun. BUT also thinking about their late night talks when Aldridge is on an assignment. Both just talking so late into the night, both can barely keep their eyes open at some point. It's sweet and genuine. They're literally saying nothing and could go to bed whenever but they just want to hear the other's voice.
•Of course I'm also thinking about him and Marshall!!!!! I think they were pals before they weren't. They'd never admit that but they actually spent a ton of time together. Their girlfriend's know each other well. They just, spend a lot of time out of work together. In my mind, Marshall and Aldridge worked together A LOT.
Marshall
•Sometimes I like the idea of Marshall having a daughter. Idk why. I just do. He'd be a grea-rrible dad. The things he does good, he excels. The things he doesn't do good at he SUCKS. But he tries. And that certainly isn't enough but he does.
•I think Marshall hates seeing people sad. Like I genuinely think it makes him uncomfortable so he always tries to cheer the person up. Whatever that means. He just needs to see them crack some kind of smile and he feels he's done his job.
•Marshall doesn't have a lot to do when it comes to bounty stuff. Somedays are boring as hell. He reads a lot of magazines and westerns to pass the time.
•He would listen to the blue station in m3. I do not know what his favorite band or song would be but he always has the station on.
•He spends SO much time at the bar. Especially when he's in New Bordeaux and not in California with his family. If he's not at work, he's usually at the same bar with the other barflies. Easy to find him though.
•I personally do not think Lincoln and Marshall got along very well. So Lincoln is hesitant about doing more work for him. But sometimes does it when he has nothing better to do.
•Marshall is a terrible boss. He doesn't make Ivy Nicole do shit. Luckily she works pretty hard on her own but days where she just wants to fuck around and do nothing, he let's her and doesn't see what's wrong with that.
•He is TERRIBLY unorganized. He can't find shit in his office. Ivy Nicole reorganized everything when she first started working there and he absolutely does not keep it up.
#this is so long im so sorry😭😭😭😭#i hope this is all coherent!#thank you for letting me ramble about these two!#i adore them!#stevie snanswers#m*fia game#connor aldridge#robert marshall#genevieve rivera#ivy nicole harris

Thank you @royal-lover-of-wilmon for tagging me! :))
Tag ten people you want to get to know better
Favourite colour: blue

Gaesteliste.de “Between trash and art” - 2000
We actually know Queen Adreena, because behind the new name are Katie Jane Garside and Crispin Gray, who caused a sensation in the early 90s as the disturbed pop music apocalypse Daisy Chainsaw, but then relatively quickly got fed up with life as rock stars and with each other . Now they are back, albeit in a new guise and with newly assigned roles. Katie Jane now writes her own lyrics, and while she explores the psychological depths of her own past more confidently than ever before, Crispin’s music today is more oriented towards PJ Harvey and Björk, but for every trip-hopping piece à la “Yesterday’s Hymn” there is also anno 2000 another guitar shocker like “X-ing Off the Days” from Garside/Gray. A band between trash and art. It’s not entirely clear to me where they’re going with this, but the moment they figure that out, Queen Adreena will be a really great band. Promised!
But let’s start at the beginning: In 1991, Katie Jane Garside - for many the female version of Iggy Pop - was already on the verge of becoming a megastar, because Daisy Chainsaw was pure energy, and none other than Courtney Love announced that it was only There are three women who are really important for the Riot Grrrl movement: yourself, Kat Bjelland from Babes In Toyland and Katie Jane Garside. But the pressure became too much and Katie was forced to leave Daisy Chainsaw (“The band was like an untamed animal”). She then spent most of the 90s trying to get her own life back on track before she accidentally met former Chainsaw guitarist Crispin Gray last year and decided to make music with him again. “I live in a world of my own,” Katie admits to us during the guest list interview. “I only very rarely come into contact with the ‘waking’ world. Music is the means of crossing the border, my way of escaping isolation.” “Taxidermy” only partially has something in common with the apocalyptic noise of Daisy Chainsaw. Because between the attractive noise that you are used to from Garside and co, there are also trip-hopping songs, some even have some gothic elements. Katie: “It depends on how you define Gothic, though. If you mean romanticism, that’s okay, but many people think of smoke machines and bats when they hear the term. We have nothing to do with that.” Queen Adrena In a way, Queen Adreena is as chaotic as Chainsaw back then, Katie admits, but now - better organized and with the help of strong management - she is able to separate the chaos within the band from outside influences. She rarely thinks about the future: “It’s like Alcoholics Anonymous. Nobody there says: 'I’ll never touch a drink again’. And just as I don’t say: 'We’ll definitely make another record. I always just think about the next day and hope that things continue somehow.”
