Hello, I would like to make a request if possible. I'm translating through a translator, so I'm sorry if something is not too clear. I hope that the request meets your criteria and does not cross the line. You can change it as you feel more comfortable or completely ignore it. So the essence of the request is that Silver dies in childhood because of Mellius. Perhaps he will find out about the origin of the child or just an accident. But Silver is dead and Lilia is going crazy. Mellius himself is plunged into a sense of guilt. And in their grief, they decide to bring him back to life. Whether it's an attempt to revive it or replace it. It doesn't really matter. Just distraught from the loss, they begin to live in the illusion that Silver is alive. But Silver himself is just an empty shell acting on orders and possibly imitating the behavior of the original. Most of all, I am interested in the reaction of the other characters to this. Sorry, it's a little hard for me to put the whole idea together. I would like to see how they live after the tragedy in complete denial and reassurance that everything is fine, continuing to live as before. But perhaps it breaks down when they try to destroy this illusion. As I wrote earlier, you have every right to ignore my request or change it as you wish. The main thing is that the essence of the idea remains. I also wanted to ask if it is possible to make multiple requests? Of course, taking into account not to spam and not to burden you. as far as the direction i went with for your request, i was fully OBSESSED thinking about the mundane, agonizing horror of silver dying by a simple and natural accident— a slip on the wet rocks of the creek in front of their cottage home, losing his grip on a mountainside during a bout of rock-climbing, etc. something so blameless that it would RUIN lilia because it was such an ordinary accident that he couldn't prevent.

i really wanted mal to be the one to bring silver back to life out of a desperate bid to heal lilia's near overblot levels of grief, but also out of this childish way (because he's still a child himself!!) to save lilia's wish to so desperately know if he could love a human— plus of course, mal is obviously fond of silver at this point too and is similarly grief-stricken and absolutely NOT thinking clearly when he tries to resurrect the child.

something that i wanted to be key is that whatever mal brought back, it is NOT silver. silver is permanently dead, and whatever spirit is inhabiting his body is one that mal sees as a complete abomination. lilia, too deep in his grief, latches onto the child regardless even if he has moments of clarity when he can't look at the new 'silver' or be around him for some time. so both mal and lilia know the truth, but nine year old sebek has been pretty much kept in the dark so far with only a few play dates to start seeing a weird behavioral difference in silver and the others.

(but the illusion can't last— this silver can never grow past the age in which the body died, and the spell has to be reapplied after so many weeks or else the corpse starts, well . . . becoming a rotting corpse again. also i'm kind of insane over the idea that the spirit inside silver is malicious and has bewitched lilia into trying to kill himself to reunite with his dead son so that it can take his magic and now mal has to figure out how to undo the awful that he did BUT I MIGHT BE GOING TOO FAR DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE NOW LOL)

recently, @cyancherub and i have been listening to know your enemy by rage against the machine for the gang activity in the prequel – specifically delphi dogs. we've been listening to lots of 90's music to get in the menthol mood!

for aki and reader's friendship, i've been listening to as long as we're together by the lemon twigs. to me, it represents aki's feelings towards reader while they're growing up + into adulthood. the one-sided pining and heartache he'd feel watching her fall in love with other people, but he doesn't mind enduring it as long as they have each other. it may be a little delusional and unhealthy, but he's happy that way.

other songs i've been loving recently represent some side characters in the prequel – passive by a perfect circle represents naoya and the daddy issues i've assigned him. even though he's just a small part of the story, developing his character has been so much fun for me <3 other naoya songs include miss murder by afi and smile like you mean it by the killers.

another beloved side character is nomo – he's very briefly in chainsaw man, but i took his personality and interactions with aki and RAN with it, so he's basically an oc at this point. real tears have been shed over this man while we plot out menthol. the songs i listen to when characterizing him are hitchin' a ride by green day & flagpole sitta by harvey danger. nothing later than 1997 and there's a reason for that.

CASSIE AND I WATCH LOTS OF MOVIES TOGETHER & HAVE BEEN FOCUSING ON GANG/FIGHTING RELATED MOVIES TO TRY AND GET SOME MENTHOL INSPO... some movies we've watched recently are training day (2001) and southpaw (2015). personally, i've taken inspiration from all about lily chou-chou (2001) and hell dogs (2022). there's also a scene from constantine (2005) that i want to reference soo bad for the sequel... u know the one of him walking into the club...

for tv shows, i pull lots of inspiration for the gangs from daredevil (2015), mainly stuff from season three.

💚 Grew up between two countries, currently live in another, and have the passport from another so this question always trips me up a bit. Western Europe, generally.

✈️ Every single time I'm in Italy I feel like myself again even though I have no link to it. I also have the softest spot for Copenhagen. Further afield, I love California, especially. I feel very calm and at peace every time I'm there, especially the middle and the north. I think I'm fundamentally European at heart, but would love to live there at some point in my life if I'm able to.
