For anyone interested, I'm writing a Harumi redemption/ Llorumi slow burn fic.

Harumi is probably really conventionally attractive and she hated it because no one took her seriously— until she realized she could use it to get what she wants (seducing lloyd etc)

She has the type of look you gravitate towards. Kind/baby faced/naive looking.

It’s probably why she changed her appearance so drastically, so she’d be taken seriously and feared.

But it backfires. She will always have that face that makes her seem like the kindest person in the realm. Lloyd still saw that face through the red makeup and it baffled her—

Which is why Lloyds presence is so confusing to her in Crystalized. He saw something she tried so hard to cover up. In a time where she is feeling especially confused in her place as the OV’s assistant, it makes sense why she’d gravitate to him in that way. Not because of him but what he saw in her.

In a redemption story, Harumi would still have that kind face that would make people want to be around her. As she tries to be a better person, all she can feel is guilty because of how people assume there’s so much good behind that face when in reality it haunts the nightmares of some of the strongest people in the realm: the ninja

Especially after the merge where there are many who don’t know of her. They’d seek her guidance. Look to her for a friend and a leader. They’d offer her so much kindness and expect it in return— just as Lloyd did.

Of course she feels as though she doesn’t deserve this, but she wouldn’t have much of a choice either. If she told the truth all she’d do is inflict more pain, which is the opposite of what she is trying to achieve now.

Now she’s put in a similar position as she was in the SOG. A leader and someone responsible for bringing a family together. But this time, she’d do the right thing. It’s the least she can do.

I have a small AU where on the Day of the Departed some souls are able to go down to Ninjago to see their loved ones.

(Such as souls who have recently died, souls who are remembered, or souls who are trusted enough to go down (when a dangerous soul is one of the first two they either are not allowed to go down or must travel down with a ‘Guardian’ such as Garmadon with Morro (yes this is a Morro AU are you actually surprised)))

So imagine how Cole feels when years down the pipe line something triggers his previous ghostly-ness (maybe evil Garms resurrection) and he sees Morro and Garmadon bickering near a Lloyd, Cryptor making fun of Zane and Pixal, Dr Julien admiring all the changes that has occurred, his mom admiring how big he’s gotten, and the damn First spinjitzu master snorting at Wu and (evil) Garmadon bickering.

No Kai he’s not hallucinating Harumi’s birth parents and adopted parents hovering over her what the hell.

Imagine how baffled he would be when he sees some random blonde woman and a guy who looks way too familiar babying a Jay who has no idea why Cole both looks traumatised and amused when looking at him.

also i was so excited to draw harumi's hair - a combination of the "good" and the "villain" one.

Wwait wait wait. so. There’s people who genuinely hate Harumi but love Morro? Do people not realise they are literally the same except for the fact that Rumi manipulated Lloyd for a bit while Morro just straight up possessed him? What

I absolutely hate that the “redemption arc” they gave harumi in crystalized because in reality it was just another poor excuse to give a character aka Lloyd a love interest even though it wasn’t needed.

First of all, it wasn’t even a proper redemption arc! She didn’t see the errors in her ways or all the wrong she had done. Nope. None of that. Instead she realized the personification of pure evil she was working with was actually involved in everything that led to her parents death. So she just decided to change up her sides and get revenge on someone else. She showed no other reason other than that. And even if she maybe showed even the slightest amount of sympathy it clearly still wasn’t enough to affect her evil actions to stop at all. If they wanted to give her a redemption arc, they should’ve started showing atleast something more a lot earlier. Not literally on the last episode. That just didn’t give enough time to truly get over everything she did and show that she did in fact change. In simple terms, it was too little too late.

Second of all, they didn’t even try to hide that it was just a chance to make Harumi a love interest for Lloyd. They focused so much on that in the season instead of actually character growth and progress. They literally had to brush over all the stuff that Lloyd through in order to get them together. Lloyd forgave her way too quickly. She hadn’t actually shown any progress or anything that could indicate she could be trusted other than in the final battle. And Lloyd isn’t stupid and also probably had trust issues. We all saw how he wouldn’t forgive Garmadon (still rightfully so. I’m not saying he had to) who had show real growth no matter how much he tried. But on Harumi it took her like few minutes! And the best explanation they had was that he was in love with her which is just wrong. Lloyd isn’t stupid and Harumi betrayed them before. He had gone through this entire phase of how he was too forgiving and couldn’t see how Harumi for what she really was during the end of season 8 and during season 9. No matter how deeply in love he was and how much he was dealing with complex feeling he wouldn’t be able to let it go. This would most likely take a long time and a lot of struggling for him.

Thus the writing for this was just really poor and it wasn’t as well done as it should have been.

МК1 AU, where Hanzo Hasashi is not rebirthed

After Ahsoka's ending, I cried my eyes out all over and then thought of my AU.

[Hanzo Hasashi] What if Hanzo became a ghost again? But he was no longer seeking revenge, but peace?

It took him a long time to forgive Lin Kuei, yet even longer to forgive himself.

He quietly watched as Liu Kang restarted the timeline. As the universe breathed life, and with it came death. Thousands, millions of lives drifted away through the eons, and Hanzo realized for a moment that being human was much harder and more exciting. As much pain as he saw in the hearts of humans, he also saw boundless happiness.

He learned to rejoice in the little things and to have a deep understanding of those who had stepped on the path of evil. He learned how to curb anger and hatred.

But the hardest part was learning to let go of those he loved more than his own life.

After many more eons, he finally saw them.

Harumi was still as beautiful and majestic as ever. There was a goodness and strength in her soul that Hanzo could not have had in his lifetime. She cared for other people she didn't know in her previous life. But Hanzo couldn't blame these 'children', they weren't the ones who had hatred and dislike for Shirai Ryu. They were the ones who had created it.

Hanzo would have laughed at the ridiculousness of it. If his Kuai Liang had found out that his counterpart was now Scorpion, he would have definitely frozen with shock. If his Harumi found out that she was now married to someone else….. Hanzo didn't know how his beloved would react.

It all seemed unfair.

But on the other hand, if he wasn't with them, maybe they could have the happiness they deserved. They could give Satoshi a long life full of joy and adventure.

A lot had happened since they had defeated Shang Tsung, defeated Havik….. and made peace with Bi-Han. His worst enemy… and his sin. Watching this man who dreamed of becoming Grandmaster of a powerful clan manage to escape the clutches of darkness, avoid his fate of becoming Noob Saibot, was a true blessing. Bi Han was able to suppress his insatiable greed, learned patience and forgiveness, and restored his clan's honor, once again becoming the protector of the Earthrealm with Shirai Ryu.

Kuai Liang regardless of whether he was Sub-Zero or Scorpion, he was still the same Kuai Liang he had once known. Loved. And still does. He was brave and righteous, knew regret and pain, but unlike Hanzo he was able to muffle it all and not follow the path he himself had once walked. Kuai Liang deserved his title, bestowed upon him by the clan for his strength and heart. Just as he deserved to be Shirai Ryu's Grandmaster and, as bitter as it was, to be Harumi's husband. To be Satoshi's father. With him, his family has a chance to live happily ever after.

A chance they wouldn't have if he was with them.

Perhaps it was time for him to let go and forgive himself.

"You will not show yourself to them, my dear friend?" "They don't need to." "They miss you."

Liu Kang never lied. Not to friends, not to enemies.

The very thought that his loved ones, even without knowing much about him, still missed him warmed his dead heart.

"My place is in the old world, amidst the agony and pain we endured. I will keep them until my time comes." "When they remember, they will be miserable, Hanzo. They will look for you, all of them." "Then I entrust them to you, my friend. You will do the right thing." "That is cruel. But I respect your choice. Farewell, Hanzo Hasashi."

The two once allies bowed to each other.

Hanzo took one last look at the happy faces of his loved ones and disappeared with the falling fire petals of the Fire Garden.

He was at peace at last.

Yk based on the way people talk about Morro or Harumi half the time I wonder if people understand that in order for a character to be redeemed they kinda have to do The Bad Thing first. They have to Bad People Who Do Bad Things first thats kinda the Point of redemption

Lloyd ->

You started out only as a nuisance. Not a major threat. That’s all you were. Till you (and your guardian) sided with someone that made you a threat.

Eventually defeating you, and I could see you either sacrificing the relationship with your guardian, or your guardian betraying you.

Either way you begin redeeming yourself (being forced into it since you really don’t have anywhere else to go,) helping the ninja on their journey.

When it comes to helping I think he’s very, skeptical kinda, very wary. Cause of the whole Harumi incident (assuming this is taking place after that.)

You make it hard for them /lh

But Lloyd eventually comes around to be very patient with you.

He helps you a lot, especially as an ex vilain himself. He helps you adjust and everything.

Lots of meditation and like sensei training.

I give it a 9/10.

Nya ->

She’s similar to Lloyd, a bit wary but over all patient.

Also really good regarding emotion stuff and writhing through past teachings.

Helps you get settled in to this new life.

Gives you things that can help with redirecting habits to something else.

8/10.

Jay ->

Really good at easing you in.

You guys get along through his awkwardness.

He can get you to open up pretty easily, and getting you to loosen up.

Probably the first one you trust.

But also kinda not the best at the emotional stuff idk.

7/10.

Kai ->

Has a shit ton of unspoken wisdom he shares with you.

You can understand it easily and begin to trust the ninja more.

Even though you can no dw get on his nerves with your tactics.

It kinda reminds him of Wyldfyre, kinda treats you like a little sibling.

8/10.

Cole ->

Okay depending on when it’s either 5/10 or 10/10.

But going with dr. He 10/10 raising 3 kids.

Kinda gentle parents you sorta 😭

But also sets boundaries and such.

Actually really good at the emotional and mental side of the transition.

Zane ->

He would make you feel at home, although not the best with emotional stuff.

Bakes you stuff, and helps you get into a routine.

Depending on your past helps you get caught up in school or training.

He’s been patient from the beginning.
