As he moved in the direction of the bed, the healers moved away and Severus felt the air leave his lungs. Fuck. Harry Potter was the Dark Lord's Omega. The realisation hit him like a truck and the need to apparate away from this grew stronger.

Or Harry disappears. Severus is summoned, threatened and horrified in that order. Narcissa is holding her sanity by a thread. Tom is smitten.

I remember seeing so many “Harry potters blood must be liquid luck” jokes but I’m being so fr I actually would love that as a fanfic. Idk like Voldemort finding out his nemesis is LITERALLY made of luck?? He has golden blood?? (Vampire Voldemort maybe ?? 👀) he kidnaps him and keeps Harry locked away (lowkey like repunzal au ngl) and just drinks from him when he needs luck or smthn idk but he keeps Harry taken care of (like pampered) and Harry being the abused child he is just accepts it cus even if Voldemort doesn’t love him like a father (or maybe he does 😃) (creepy old bastard) atleast he takes care of him and Harry can be useful. Also he doesn’t have to die anymore so that’s a plus 🤷 but the liquid luck blood leads to more physical effects besides just the color of his blood. Like he’s unnaturally good at predicting things (he becomes one of Voldemorts generals maybe?) and just seems to always know what to do. Also due to these effects he doesn’t try and run (besides maybe at first) bc nothings telling him he has to, like his mind is perfectly content being Voldemorts arm candy and general and if he has more luck staying then why try and leave?? Anyways they eventually fall in love and rule Great Britain (and maybe the world but like as a shadow government type deal) as a power couple 😘 (also I hc that Harry came to be with Voldemort right around Hogwarts letter time bc that’s when he would’ve been most susceptible and mold able)

The Discreet Gentleman's Connection by pluto (gayrights420) [Drarry, E, 80.4k] 🌼🔥 I had the absolute pleasure of beta-ing for this fic, so when I say it is amazing, it truly is just that. Fast burn on the smut via Floo sex, slow burn on the in-person falling in love. Satisfying in all the best possible ways.

2. A fic that made me laugh

AITA for being "obsessed" with my childhood nemesis? by @rainstormradish [Drarry, M, 4.3k] 🌼📲 Draco on a reddit forum is hilarious just on its own, but the banter and formatting really bring this fic to life. Amazingly creative, had me in stitches!

3. A comfort fic

The Eighth Tale by @letteredlettered [Drarry, E, 12.0k] 💔⏳ An oldie but a goodie. I constantly find myself coming back to this fic and having my mind blown every single time. Time travel timey-wimey angst.

4. A fic with art

Dating Draco - A Visual Game by @itsphantasmagoria [Drarry, M, Video Game] 🌼🎮 This is a fic in video game form!! Amazing art and lovely story where YOU get to make the choices for Drarry's happily ever after.

Far Apart, Far Away by @unmistakablyoatmeal [Hinny, minor Drarry, T, 1.6k] 💔💍 Infidelity angst has never been this good. I love the layers of emotion in this fic. Quick punchy sections that really pulled me in.

Pleasant Hope by @ac1d6urn, @sinick [Snarry, E, 41.6k] 💔⛪️ Pastor Severus!! The angst, pining, and self-discovery in this fic is superb! I love the interwoven magic and detailed world-building of this little town.

11. A pre-canon fic

Careless by @tax-onomic [Luther, E, 1.5k] 🔥🪞 Lucius/Arthur my beloved rare pair!! I am captain of the Luther ship, and Tax's fic hits all the right spots. The pining, the sniping, the prickly personalities with emotional vulnerability underneath! And all in the middle of a hot smut scene. Perfect.

12. A canon-compliant fic

Scottish by thepadfoots [Chedric, G, 749] 💔🌟 Lovely Cho character study focused around her Asian identity and the boy she loved.

13. A fic rated G (more like T though)

Lion-Hearted Girl by MinnieQuill (odainath) [Minmione, G, 4.5k] 💔🦁 I know the large age gap might scare some, but their relationship feels very organic in this fic. The setting is grim, but there is always hope in the darkness!

You're So Vane by @patriceavril [Romelina, T, 6.8k] 🌼💄Romilda is so delightfully characterized, I was smiling through the entire fic. Angelina is the perfect foil (and love interest) to Romilda's attentions.

15. A rare pair fic (less than 2000 fics on AO3)

Snakeskin by @cntrl15 [Bellastoria, E, 3.7k] 🔥👠 Talk about a rare pair! Astoria/Bellatrix only has 2 tagged fics on AO3: this fic and the drabble I wrote based on it. But read this fic, and you'll see why I felt the need to write more in this universe.

Master of None by @nanneramma [Snormac, G, 5.5k] 🌼🧘 Severus is so wonderfully cranky, and Cormac is fine AF. The surprise pairing of 2023 that I never knew I needed and now I'm obsessed with!

Sun, Shadow, Shade by @naomijameston [Snuna, G, 700] 🌼☀️ Post-war fluff. Sunshine Luna is the perfect match for sullen Snape. A short and sweet fic for this underrated ship.

I haven't read a TON of Harrymort because I've only recently reentered the fandom after many years away, but I am taking recs! Lol

Such a hard question, there are a lot of wonderful ones that I really like. But here are a few:

His Darkest Devotion by Lomonaaeren: Soulmate AU but Harry is hiding his mark and trying not to catch Tom's attention because he thinks that Minister Riddle is an evil dark lord. The first chapters are filled with so much tension and the reveal is a great pay-off.

Too old to be this young by Nadia_Castillo: An older Harry travels to an alternative dimension where there's no Voldemort, just Minister Riddle. The dialogue and the descriptions are very funny lkdajsdja

Anytime At All by duplicity: Muggle!Harry and Wizard!Tom have a relationship. The story is beautiful and warms my heart, it made me laugh too kek.

Dripping Fingers by May_May_0_0: Harry draws on Tom's diary and Tom loves his art. The story is really sweet and Harry is just so kind.

Retreat by Lomonaaeren: Arranged marriage AU where Harry is definitely not having a good time. That is until he and Voldemort manage to understand each other and then the story is sweet and kinda cute.

It's A Masquerade, Darling by ChubbyPanda15: Harry does his best to avoid notice and be average at Hogwarts. But Tom sees him and notice his potential and talent and wants Harry to be recognized. The romance is really cute.

Between Thought and Reality by Maeglin_Yedi: Harry travels back in time but he is now in the body of a girl. He changes Tom, gives him another path and and I just find the story really interesting.

Here are a few fics that I find to be especially outstanding and creative and well written.

Amulette d'amour by The_Carnivorous_Muffin, Vinelle (words: 58,092 | not rated | Tom Riddle/Alphard Black)

Tom is commissioned to repair a magical amulet.

Why I rec it: Listen. This fic is absolutely phenomenal. It has a fascinating and well developed exploration of wizarding society, brilliant and highly complex and multifaceted characterization, and very original and unique plotting. It's extraordinarily well written and is both thought provoking and dramatic as well as laugh out loud funny in places. It's not a fic premise or pairing I would ever have imagined but it's legitimately an outstanding piece of writing that will live rent free in your head.

At Your Service by Faith Wood (faithwood) ( words: 95,752 | rating: E drarry )

Hogwarts students are in danger; Harry is determined to save them all. There’s only one thing he knows for certain: Draco Malfoy is somehow involved.

Why I rec it: This is the closest to book 8 that I've seen. Stylistically it really recalls the feel and structure of the canon books and it has a lot of really cool plot developments and world building. It follows on nicely from the rest of the series and expands on whats there. It feels like a book 8 where drarry happens.

the pleasure, the privilege by asterismal (asterisms) (words: 19,901 | rating: M | Harry/Voldemort | CW: Horror, Extremely dark themes)

It begins with Vernon Dursley’s body, dead across the table. In which Voldemort is dosed with amortentia, and nothing is better for it.

Why I rec it: It takes a crack plot premise and runs with it and really makes it work in a serious way. This fic is DARK and very unique and creative in its plot resolution. It kept me on the edge of my seat and is incredibly innovative and dramatic.

Running on Air by eleventy7 ( words: 74,876 | rating: T | drarry)

Draco Malfoy has been missing for three years. Harry is assigned the cold case and finds himself slowly falling in love with the memories he collects.

Why I rec it: Brilliantly well done characterization and amazing world building and plot. The relationship and characters all develop so naturally and the writing is incredibly beautiful. It never feels rushed and yet you can't put it down.

Denude by Faith Wood (faithwood) (words: 4,172 | rating: E | drarry | CW: Underage)

This is a HBP AU. It's set a few days after the Sectumsempra scene and takes the story in another direction, asking the question: "What if the Sectumsempra scene had a greater impact on Harry and Draco?" Harry and Draco are sixteen. In medias res beginning. Non-linear storytelling.

Why I rec it: Stylistically it feels like it could be taken out of book 6. The characterization and dialogue is so spot on and its very emotionally evocative.

Sparkling Cyanide by Asenora (words: 1,415 | rating: G | Gen | complete)

Tom Riddle had nothing to do with the death of Hepzibah Smith. Hokey had just had enough of being a slave.

Why I rec it: Amazingly creative world building and premise and characterization. It feels brand new and yet wholly plausible and right.

A full 5k words of a hide and seek and chase scene, predator/prey of Harry trying to escape his snakey husband (they're married, your honour, Voldemort put a ring on it!) who enjoys the chase. The strategies Harry uses are so well-done and well thought of. The hiding and running are so well done and so wonderfully described in detail, I was holding my breath the entire time. How Harry hides and how intense it all is, and when Voldemort finds him it gets deliciously steamy. It ends with the married couple going back to bed with Vee holding Harry’s hand. There are even details about the current wizarding world sprinkled in how it is under Voldemort's rule. The best hide and seek Harrymort fic ever written. Wonderful one-shot.

Canon Divergence from 6th Year. Voldemort finds out Harry is his Horcrux after 5th Year and tells Harry he will come for him. Harry, bless his impulsive brain, leaves the safety of the wards and is captured and put into enchanted sleep. This is a Tomarrymort treasure trove.

Bring tissues for the sequel. You’ll need them.

Harry time travels and crashed into Voldemort’s home. He speaks Parseltongue so Voldemort assumes that Harry is his son. After all, only his heir could speak Parseltongue. Harry goes along with it. Daddymort is very touchy with his son and is also a big sugar daddy to him, and a SIMP to boot. Also, Abraxas is lucky to have Morgane as his wife. Morgane Malfoy, ladies and gentlemen, slays in this fic. Absolutely. Slays. Queen. Also, Bellatrix vying for Harry (I think she'll jump him at some point, actually physically jump on the poor lad) and Vee being jealous and possessive is hilarious. A detail I love in the fic are the wizarding clothes, I love their descriptions.

I’m tired of being ashamed.. I like snake face Voldemort and way to young Harry. Harry being groomed into being his wife, terribly codependent, they disgust and astound everyone around them, they fuck. Idc what age. They fuck. But not infront of the death eaters or anything cus Voldemort is a weird fuck like that. Also he grew up in the 50’s that guy wants a housewife. But also Harry is only docile with him, he is too high above everyone else to show submission around them. Voldemorts death eaters are Harry’s death eaters and they hate it (the death eaters not harrymort ) the death eaters think their lord has been corrupted while the order think Harry is being held captive and doesn’t actually love Voldemort. (He does love Voldemort btw, he’s like his dad AND husband )

I've been a Tomarrymort shipper for just over 6 months now, so it's just too early to reread my favorite fics. But there's always A LOT of discussions of Either must die at the hand of the other by @metalomagnetic on my Telegram channel, so I decided to reread it for the first time. And this fic is just bloody brilliant. It's even better for the second time than the first. It evokes so many emotions for me, and I've never saved as many quotes from any fic as I do from this one. It's absolutely one of the best I've read so far 😭
