"You're so pretty!" I gushed as I reached out and stroked the crystal-covered jumpsuit. "I want one. It can be my birthday present," I grinned.

Harry chuckled. "Yeah, you're not getting a Swarovski crystal jumpsuit for your birthday," he said and took my hand.

I hummed and looked through the car window. We were in line and we were slowly getting closer to the red carpet. "Can I hold the Grammys after you've finished with the press and stuff? I want a picture with them," I asked and looked back at Harry.

"I'm probably not going to win any. The people I'm nominated with... yeah, there's no way," Harry replied and smiled.

"Don't say that, you have just as good of a chance at winning. You've done so many good things in the last year and I know that people will see that," Florence said and looked at him pointedly.

"I'm just grateful that I was even nominated. That itself is such a huge honour," he said, looking over at Florence.

"It is but I have a very good feeling that there will be more than one Grammy on that shelf when we get back home," she smiled and gave him a kiss on the lips.

"And then I can hold them all. Right?" I asked with a grin. "They're so cute and tiny,"

Harry and Flossie laughed. "Yeah, you can take a picture with them if you want, babe," Harry agreed and smiled.

Harry/Ben/Oliver

"Oh gosh, here we go," Ben said as he looked up at the TV in the green room Harry's team and he and Oliver were in. It was time for Harry to perform and they were all super excited. Poor Harry had been so nervous before going on but everyone reassured him he would do great.

Oliver took Ben's hand and squeezed it. "They've been practicing all week, they got this," He told him and smiled at him.

The music started and everyone was glued to the TV as the camera zoomed in on Harry and the dancers.

Oliver frowned slightly as he looked at it. "Isn't it supposed to go the other way?" he asked as he watched Harry on the turntable.

Ben squeezed his hand tightly. "Oh no," he whispered. He couldn't look away.

They were managing it very well considering they had to do everything in reverse of what they had practiced. Harry only had a small hiccup as he tripped slightly but quickly found his balance again.

Everyone in the room clapped and cheered as Harry took his bow. It had gone well.

Ben and Oliver stood up and waited for Harry to return, both wondering how he was feeling after that knowing that he was a perfectionist when it came to his work.

Not too long after Harry and Jeff came into the room and everyone clapped and cheered again.

Harry waved his hand at them before he started taking off his mic pack.

Oliver put his hand on Ben's lower back and walked towards Harry. "You did so good, love," he told him as they got close to him.

Harry shook his head and kept trying to get the in ears wire out from his outfit, getting more and more frustrated.

"Let's go into your dressing room," Ben said and accepted the hanger with Harry's suit on it before they ushered Harry into the dressing room.

"It went the wrong way! And it was awful. I just embarrassed myself in front of god knows how many people," Harry bit down on his lip hard and tried to undo the zipper on his back.

"Hey, it's okay. That's not true. You did so amazing, I'm sure no one watching would even know it went the wrong way. You all handled it like it was no big deal and it was supposed to go that way," Oliver told him as he cupped Harry's face in his hands and made him look up at him.

"I want to watch it," Harry whispered.

Ben started unzipping the jumpsuit. "Of course we can watch it but not right now. You need to get out of this, eat something, and then get back into your suit,"

Oliver smiled and nodded, holding Harry's hand so he was steady while Ben undressed him.

"Not hungry," Harry replied, his tone short and sharp.

Oliver leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You're eating,"

Erica/Harry

All eyes were on Trevor as the video ended and he started speaking. Erica was clutching her hands tightly together.

"And the Grammy goes to.." she glanced over at Harry and saw that he was just staring straight ahead. She reached out and put a hand on his thigh and gave it a little squeeze.

Trevor looked around before walking over to the older woman. "You can read it," he tells her and shows her the envelope, and holds the mic to her mouth.

Erica gasped and turned to look over at Harry as she listened to her announce the winner. "Ha-Ha-Harry Styles!"

Erica's eyes filled with tears as she stood up and started clapping, watching as Harry put his head in his hands in shock. Everyone around stood up as well and started cheering.

Harry stood up as well and received hugs from the others around their table before he looked at Erica.

Erica brought him in for a tight hug. "I'm so fucking proud of you, love you," she told him before giving him a kiss. Harry had yet to say anything but the look in his eyes was more than enough to tell her how he was feeling. "Go get your Grammy, mister album of the year," Erica grinned and cupped his face - giving him yet another kiss.

Harry cleared his throat and did his best to blink away the tears before he started making his way up to the stage.

Erica let out a long breath and dabbed at her eyes with a napkin.

It was quite easy to see that Harry was very overwhelmed as he accepted his award and walked over to the mic. "Shit," he said as he looked down at the Grammy.

Erica grinned and put her hands on her chest as she looked at him, almost feeling like her heart was about to burst through her chest with pride and love. She could not wait till they finally had a private moment so she could really congratulate him.

Stiles Stilinski isn't as... UNCARING as you think.

Part 1 of my "[character] isn't as..." series.

There are many things Stiles has said that gets used against him. Stiles uses humor and sarcasm as coping mechanisms.

We all know he has severe trauma like:

Losing his mom to an illness that made her not herself anymore and think her own son was trying to hurt her as she slowly wasted away.

Being physically attacked by his mom during a moment where she swore he wasn't her son and was trying to hurt her.

He watched her die in her hospital room while alone with her because his dad had to work.

The constant fear of losing his dad and trying to control anything he can, like what his dad eats to try to keep him healthy and alive for a long time.

The constant fear of losing his dad while he's on the job so he listens in on his dad's police calls, not only to be nosy but to know what his dad is dealing with and if he's in danger.

Living with his dad drinking too much after his mom dies and feeling like everything is his fault.

Seeing a dead body and thinking it was his dad for a minute until the sheriff finally appeared.

The constant fear of losing his only best friend Scott.

The fear in the back of his mind that he might get the illness that killed his mother.

Almost being killed by Scott multiple times when he first turned. (Not bashing Scott, just stating a fact)

Almost having to cut off Derek's arm.

His relationship with his dad slowly deteriorating because he has to lie and keep the secret about the supernatural, not only to protect Scott and Derek, but to try to keep his dad safe.

Finding Lydia bitten by Peter and when he tries to help her, Peter won't allow it and forces Stiles to go with him (abducting Stiles) to use him to find Derek.

Having Chris shove him against the wall and antagonizing him and Stiles mouths off about how the Argents killed Derek's family.

Being paralyzed twice by the Kanima and the first time it happened he was having to see and listen to a guy slowly die by being crushed by a car lift that his jeep is on.

Holding Derek up in the pool for 2 hours when Derek was paralyzed.

Almost drowning with Derek in the pool.

Erica bashing him on the head with a part from his jeep and he wakes up in a dumpster.

Feeling guilty when his dad is forced to stop being sheriff for a while because of all the supernatural shit which made him look incompetent.

Having to punch Derek awake multiple times.

Constantly harassed by Mr. Harris during class.

Abducted by Gerald and taken to the Argents basement where Erica and Boys are being tortured. Gerard beats the shit out of Stiles.

Almost losing his dad to the Darach.

Trying to keep Cora alive while she's dying from mistletoe poisoning.

Having reality slowly slip away from him, not knowing whether he's asleep or not, and having night terrors.

Thinking he got the illness that killed his mom (he literally had to live for a bit thinking he was going to die within a few years!) when it was really the nogitsune.

Being chipped away at and possessed by the nogitsune.

Living with the knowledge of what really happened with Scott's dad leaving and never telling Scott.

Committing himself to Eichen House to try to keep his loved ones safe but putting himself in danger and in a very toxic environment.

Being put into solitary confinement and sedated when he was trying to stay awake to keep the nogitsune from getting full control.

His first time having sex and it's not even really him doing it but the nogitsune, so he didn't really get to truly consent.

Almost having a hole drilled into his head in the Eichen House basement by his roommate.

Having guns and various weapons pointed at him.

Thinking Derek is dead multiple times.

Seeing multiple dead bodies.

Being infected during their SATs with some unknown illness.

Having a gun shoved against his forehead as his teacher counts to 3, saying if he doesn't tell him where his friends are he's going to pull the trigger and kill Stiles. Stiles stands there refusing to give in.

Stiles' teacher was shot right in front of him, blood splattered on his face and he thinks for a moment that he was shot. Then he sees Scott's dad who killed the teacher.

Taken hostage with Lydia by the Eichen House orderly Brunski and tied up in the basement and was almost murdered.

Stiles seeing Derek is dying in Mexico and he wants to stay with him but Derek insists he go save Scott, Stiles is trying to choose which to do but Derek tells him to go so he does, knowing Derek will be dead before he gets back.

Donovan attacking Stiles in the school parking lot and bites his shoulder. Then chases Stiles into the school library, trying to kill him and threatening to kill the sheriff once he's done with Stiles.

Stiles accidentally killing Donovan. It wasn't even self defense, it was an accident. Stiles pulled a clip to release polls to keep Donovan away from him but ended up with Donovan getting impaled.

Feeling guilty and scared about Donovan's death and worried someone will find out.

Theo blacking mailing Stiles.

Feeling like his worst fear of losing Scott was happening during the confrontation when Scott thought Stiles murdered Donovan and Stiles thought Scott saw his self-defense (technically accident) as murder.

Almost losing his dad when he was shot.

Being forgotten by everyone because he was taken by the Ghost Riders. Which was made even worse by him calling Scott and Scott had no idea who Stiles was and then Stiles finds his dad, thinks for a moment his dad remembers him, then his dad asks him who he is.

Being stuck where the Ghost Riders took him, some train station, and he's stuck with Peter.

Being shot in the foot.

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting, but clearly Stiles has been through way too much in such a short period of time.

Stiles cares, he cares deeply, kinda to the point of too much. He neglects himself, his wants and needs, to take care of his loved ones. The guy would literally die for his dad, Scott, and Derek.

He lets himself hurt to protect his friends, he goes into fights when he is a human who has no powers but he doesn't hesitate to fight with his friends. He never tells Scott about Gerard kidnapping him and hurting him because he refused to be a message to Scott.

Stiles jokes about killing or letting Jackson, Derek, and Peter die. He doesn't actually mean it (except maybe a tiny bit with Peter, which is fair). He doesn't want anyone to die. He doesn't want to actually kill anyone. He jokes and is sarcastic as a coping mechanism.

He also keeps everyone at arm's length. Even his dad and Scott. He's got abandonment issues and he protects himself by not letting anyone in too much. He talks a lot but he doesn't actually say much. Gives the illusion that's he's an open person but he's really not.

Stiles says inconsiderate things, yes that is true. But what better way to keep people from getting too close than being a dick sometimes? Stiles isn't an asshole, but he can and does act like an asshole sometimes.

With his loved ones, he's loyal af too. Even when he doesn't agree with the plan, he stays loyal. Stiles cares a lot about the people he loves. He wants to protect them and keep them safe. He may not care about everywhere, which is fair, but he does his best to protect people. He will even stand in front of werewolves to try to protect them even though he is the squishy human.

Stiles has a lot of feelings that he shows, but he also has a lot of feelings that he doesn't show. He puts everyone's feelings before his own.

Stiles seems to always feel guilty about something. Usually stuff dealing with his mom or dad.

I see people saying how callous Stiles is but he's really not. Yes, he can be cruel if he wants to be, if someone really hurts him, but he isn't an uncaring person. He's a pretty sensitive guy who puts on an uncaring front.

There was nothing wretched about him, but something beautiful.  Day after day Theo would visit the beautiful merman. He couldn’t talk but Theo was learning how to communicate with him. One day he wasn’t there though. Coming back to the castle Theo couldn’t believe it. His father had captured his dear friend. Theo had to save him and protect him. Going against his father, Theo rescues the merman from the poor fisherman and keeps him in his private quarters. As Theo’s wedding comes to a close, he and the merman grow closer. Theo learns that the merman’s name is Liam. Though he sings it with a hushed tone. It sounds beautiful coming from his lips. Theo knows he can’t keep Liam here forever and that he belongs in the sea. Liam seems quite content staying with Theo, though.

CATS U.S. Tour 6 (02/04/23)

My thoughts on the show I saw yesterday! I was supposed to see the show last weekend as well, but I was unable to go, so I can't really talk about that one here.

Before I get into the meat of the post, I just want to talk about...guest ettiquette? These were the best seats I've ever gotten for a show at this theatre, but I missed part of the Gumbie Tap and almost the entirety of Sillabub's "Moment's of Happiness" solo because someone had to crawl past me to get to their seat. It's really a good thing I decided not to break the "no recording" rule, or I would've been caught by the usher's who were shining lights down the aisle for all the late people...

Now on to the interesting stuff! I didn't catch as many background moments this time as last, as I mainly focused on each character as they were having their moment (and of course, I couldn't help but be excited about Sillabub).

I saw Hank Santos as Tugger, and his energy was everything I want from a Tugger performance. He seemed the most comfortable with his fellow castmates, and he had little moments with almost all the Queens. He danced with Demeter during his own number (Tuggmeter lovers will enjoy their little moments!), he danced with Bombalurina during his number and they were paired together for the Jellicle Ball. He talked Cassandra's ear off during someone else's number, and he even danced with Victoria at one point! At the opening of his own number, he poked Munkustrap in the stomach and laughed when he doubled over, which is a total bro move. He also swung at Alonzo after the "terrible bore" line. Oh! And during the last bows, Hank and Tayler did a neat little handshake that I'm pretty sure someone caught on camera. Overall, I really love Hank as Tugger. My aunt told him he was her favorite Tugger, and he gave her a little paw bump. I could say more about his performance and I probably will, but seeing it yourself will be better than anything I can describe here.

Nora was Demeter, and I was very torn on how I felt about their performance. I like to be open-minded and not compare every performer to the last, but that's easier said than done. Their energy and vibe were perfect, but they have a very unique voice that takes just a little getting used to. I loved their moments with Hank as Tugger. Nora and Erica were super close and had the perfect Bomba/Deme thing going, and I absolutely loved them together. Nora was an awesome Demeter.

Erica was Bombalurina, and she might just be a favorite of mine. She also has a very unique voice, but it's very Bomba. She definitely has the right vibe going, and I absolutely adore how closely she stuck to Nora. Her performance very much reminded me of Rosemarie Ford's, and I think that's why I liked it so much.

I can say without a doubt that Sam Bello is the best Sillabub I have seen live. Her voice was angelic, clear, pure, and literally everything I could possibly want from a Sillabub performance. Every time she sang I would almost cry her voice was so beautiful. She's definitely up there with Helen Massey as a favorite Sillabub voice for me. She was such a little kitten, and I very much got the idea that she's the one troublemaker who pesters the older kittens and sometimes gets into little spats with them. Skimbleshanks was very protective over her when Grizabella came onstage, and she was usually found hanging out with (or pestering) Pouncival and Victoria. During Skimbleshank's number, rather than appearing that they're just horsing around, it feels more like Silla and Vicci got into a little tiff and Skimble had to break them up. Oh, and please, for the love of all things Jellicle, if you go to a show and have the chance to see Sam as Silla, please get audio for your friend Indy. I would appreciate it.

I saw Taryn as Rumpleteazer! She is the most adorable 'Teazer, and super nice if you get to meet her. She actually stopped to take a photo with us on a very busy two-show day, and I'll never forget how friendly she was.

I got to see Ibn play Misto. He was probably the cutest Misto I've ever seen, and he and Hank switch off when it comes to wanting to be the center of attention at all times. Their Tugger and Misto are absolutely obsessed with each other (like every Tugger/Misto should be), and Tuggoffelees shippers are really gonna enjoy that. Ibn was also super friendly and took a photo with us, was the most chill guy.

I can say without any reservation that this cast was just as good as the last, and I was so happy to see those who returned. Tayler absolutley slays Memory every single time, and when I met her the first thing out of my mouth was, "You were amazing!" She was so sweet and came straight to me to talk, telling me she liked my cosplay. She asked my name and I told her, but she accidently slipped and said, "Hi Tayler, my name is--" before realizing she got it backwards. She was absolutely lovely. Overall, everyone had a great performance and if you get the chance to see them you should absolutely take it!!!

I also got some signatures on my second playbill. Hank's smudged, and I forgot to ask for Tayler's, but I also got Kade's and he was super sweet (and also an amazing Munkstrap!!!). I also saw Brian (Mungojerrie), who asked me if I was cosplaying as Jemima or Sillabub (he grew up on Cats, too!) and that made my day.

I could go on about other characters/cast and how great they were and how hard they work, but you really should go see the show instead of letting me spoil it for you. I will share some photos here, though:

So yeah, U.S. Tour 6, 2023 was a 11/10 experience. I loved it and I can't wait to get back to the Junkyard!!!

Of course I'm not saying all trans people are predators. I'm a straight female and I know not all men are predators. But I also know that all a predator wants is access, and to open the doors of changing rooms, rape centers, domestic violence centers- to open the door to any man who says, 'I am a woman, I have a right to be here,' It will endanger women and girls. It's with no pleasure that I say this has happened. Karen White, a man in England, used a trans persona to violently attack and rape women in a female jail. He had not physically transitioned. Predators can and will exploit any loophole that they can. And for someone growing up during the rise of British feminism, TERF sounds like just another way to silence women. People like to say it's not 'up for debate,' the stock phrase, 'no debate.' That alarms me. I can't think of anything more authoritarian than, 'no debate.' In fact, that is the argument of the fundamentalists: 'I am righteous, I don't have to explain my righteousness. And I am entitled, therefore, to bully you, to harass you, to silence you, to take away your livelihood, all the way to attacking you. Like when Dr. Erica Anderson, a trans clinical psychologist, voiced her criticism and was herself shut down, or Maya Forstater, a researcher who was fired because of her critical thoughts on the issue. Because of things like this, people are terrified of speaking up. I joined the public conversation because I saw women being shut down. It seemed there was always a way to shut down womens' voices. There are tons of women who are forced to not speak because they literally won't make rent. I wanted to speak earlier than I did, but there were women begging me not to, as they saw what happened to other public figures. But I feel a sense of moral obligation to speak, especially for the women who don't have the insulation I am privileged to have. The attempt to intimidate and silence me is meant to serve as a warning to other women. I've written a whole series of books that had a central theme about bullying behavior and how authoritarianism is of one of the worst social ills perpetuated on people. And I feel protective of those people. If there is one thing I stand against more than any other, in my books and in my life, it's authoritarianism - and that cuts through all political persuasians.
