Hardwood Flooring - Beauty and Durability
Flooring is an essential part of any interior design. It enhances the appearance of your house while also providing a foundation for daily life. Hardwood flooring is a classic option that provides multiple benefits. It is durable, resilient, warm, cozy, and visually appealing. In this post, we'll discuss why hardwood flooring might be a great option for your home, the different wood species to choose from, and how sawing affects its appearance and longevity.
Hardwood flooring is worth considering, mainly due to its superb combination of durability and warmth. Unlike other flooring materials, wood floors do not crack, dent or buckle quickly, making them an excellent choice for areas with high traffic like living rooms, hallways and kitchens. Furthermore, wood floors cushion your feet and have a natural insulation quality, which maintains the warmth in your house even during cold seasons.
When it comes to wood species, oak, maple, birch, and cherry are popular options. Among these species, oak is the most sought-after due to its durability, visual appeal, and ability to blend in with multiple interior designs. Each of these species provides a unique texture, color, and grain pattern that will undoubtedly add a unique touch to your house.
The sawing process is an essential aspect to consider before selecting your preferred wood floor. How wood is sawn affects both its appearance and wear-resistance. Plain-sawn flooring (Rift) provides noticeable grain patterns and can wear unevenly in high traffic areas. In comparison, quarter-sawn flooring (edge or vertical grain – quarter) has a more uniformed grain pattern and is preferred for better wearing qualities under hard usage. This means that it is more resistant to dents, scratches, and wear, lasting longer than plain-sawn floors. Additionally, 3/4” wood floors can be sanded up to six times during its lifetime, prolonging its lifespan and restoring its beauty.
Aside from the durability, warmth, and natural beauty, hardwood flooring also allows you to style your house the way you desire. Depending on the type of wood you choose and the sawing technique used, you can select from a variety of shades and patterns, whether modern-looking or traditional. Wood floors give your interior a touch of class, charm, and elegance that no other flooring material can match.
In conclusion, hardwood flooring is not only attractive but also durable, warm, and comfortable. Oak, maple, birch, and cherry are popular wood species to choose from, with oak being the most desirable. How wood is sawn also affects its appearance and wear-resistance. Quarter-sawn flooring is the most preferred option for better wearing qualities under hard usage. Lastly, hardwood flooring allows for a unique style and elegance that will add long-lasting value to your home. We hope that this post has provided you with the necessary information needed to make an informed decision before choosing your preferred hardwood flooring.
If this is not enough, seek the help of trusted professionals:

The Durability and Beauty of Hardwood Flooring
When it comes to home interior design, the type of flooring you choose can make a huge impact on the overall aesthetic. Hardwood flooring is a popular choice for many reasons. Not only does it provide long-lasting durability and wear-resistance, but it also adds warmth and comfort to any room. Moreover, depending on the type of wood used and how it's laid, hardwood flooring can showcase beautiful colous, unique grain patterns and textures that are truly one-of-a-kind. In this blog post, we'll discuss some of the most popular wood species used in flooring, the sawing process that affects the appearance and durability of the wood, and some tips on how homeowners, contractors, and interior designers can select the best hardwood flooring for their projects.
Oak, maple, birch, and cherry are just a few examples of the many species of wood used in flooring. Oak is by far the most popular, thanks to its strength, durability, and versatility in appearance. It's available in various shades from light to dark, with either a straight or varied grain pattern. Maple is another common hardwood with a light, uniform appearance that is ideal for modern or contemporary home designs. Birch is popular for its light and creamy colours, while cherry offers a darker and richer appearance that can add sophistication to any space.
The way in which the hardwood flooring is sawn also plays a crucial role in both its appearance and performance. Plain-sawn flooring, also known as Rift, showcases a noticeable grain pattern that can provide a distinct character to a room. However, because the grain patterns are more pronounced in plain-sawn wood, it can wear unevenly over time if exposed to heavy foot traffic. Quarter-sawn flooring (vertical grain, edge grain or quarter) has a more even grain pattern and is generally preferred for better wearing qualities under hard usage. It also results in less cupping or twisting of the planks. However, because of its more complicated manufacturing process, quarter-sawn wood is more expensive than plain-sawn.
Another factor to consider is the thickness of the flooring. ¾ inch hardwood flooring can be sanded up to six times in its lifetime, making it ideal for high-traffic areas that require regular maintenance. Thinner floors may not be as durable, but they can be more affordable and offer more design flexibility. Ultimately, the type of wood, the sawing process, and the thickness of the flooring will depend on individual needs and preferences.
When choosing the best hardwood flooring for a project, it's essential to consider the overall style, function, and location of the room. For example, a lighter wood such as maple or birch may work well in a bright, modern kitchen, while an elegant dining room may require the rich tones of cherry. It's also wise to think about cleaning and maintenance. Wood floors require regular cleaning and can be sensitive to spills, so it's important to choose a finish that is both durable and easy to clean.
Hardwood flooring is a timeless and elegant flooring option that's popular for good reason. It combines durability and resistance with comfort and warmth, and its beauty brings a touch of nature into any room. With its wide range of species and sawing processes, homeowners, contractors, and interior designers have endless design options to choose from. By keeping in mind the overall style, function, and location of a room, as well as the durability and maintenance needed, choosing the right hardwood flooring can be an enjoyable and satisfying process.
However, if you are having difficulty selecting and installing your hardwood flooring, the best option is to turn to experienced professionals: https://robarflooring.ca/installation/

Was really crabby at work for many reasons (mostly ab how everyone else gets to be off Sundays but god forbid RC and I are bc WE need to be there to pick up the slack. (Had to do like 30 pallets in snacks and candy)) and then when I came home I had another reason to be crabby and it just felt like everything was TRYING to piss me off ... so I showered and decided to put that pent up energy to good use. I changed my sheets AND my comforter from the summer beachy shells to the nice fluffy fall pumpkins and leaves one 🥰
It's gonna be almost 80 fucking degrees tomorrow!!! Which means I'll have to turn the ac back on (and pray it works after the fucking FREEZING weather we had the past week) otherwise it will be PAST 80 degrees inside 😑😑😑
IT'S FLUFFY COMFORTER SEASON FUCKER LET ME ENJOY MY HEATING BLANKET TOO!
anyway it took half an hour to strip the bed, maybe 10 min to put the new sheets + my blankets on, and another half hour to change the pillow cases and put everything back together on my bed 😩 I hurt sgdgdggdd
#marquilla#my room is 70% bed sgdgdggdgd so it's hard to make my bed in general but it's doubly hard bc i have adhd and nest on my bed bc if#i cant see it it doesnt exist. and also theres no where to put anything bc it's again 70% bed egdggdgd#i used to have a bunk bed and i would have one bunk i slept on and the other i threw all my shit on sgdgdgdghdhdhdhd it#would switch which one i used but mainly i slept on the top bunk and threw everything on the bottom bunk#it was rare that they both were clean at the same time shdhhdd#i was/am an only child but my parents were like listen if it will get you to sleep in your big kid bed we will buy you the bunk bed#*it did not work lmaooo i would still sleep in my parents bed bc safe sgdgdgdgdgd#i did have a regular twin size bed before the bunk bed but it was my cousin's and i hated it idr why sgdgdgdgdg so thus the bunk bed#my cat would fucking climb the ladder and sleep up there it was so fucking funny and then she'd just jump down onto the hardwood floor 😩#she now has stairs to get on moms bed (no room for mine :'( ) and she thankfully stopped jumping off things shdhdhdhdh#she never liked climbing down she'd always just jump and man did she love to climb shgdgdgdgdgd born to climb forced to climb down
