Hilarious thing that happens to me is that when people are trying to 'test my knowledge' or whatever pretentious thing they say, half the time i barely even know what they're talking about, but i just happen to have a single hyperspecific piece of information that utterly convinces them that i not only know what im talking about, but in fact know more about it than they do

#one time in high school two of my classmates were having a hipster-off and one challenged the other to name the song he was playing #which classmate 2 could not do #and i(having been happily listening to only my dad's apple music for most of my life) immediately turned around and said #oh is that Happy Idiot by TV on the radio? i love that song!#which they seemed to find impressive
