Ok so after I saw that last post I reblogged, I was thinking about how, after the cliff scene, we see Bedelia with her leg cut off and steaming dinner in front of her, and the table is momentarily empty. A lot of people, myself included, have taken this to mean that Hannibal and Will survived the fall. But what if only one of them did?
I believe it was Hannibal who promised Bedelia he would eat her (pls correct me if I’m wrong, he may have also not directly said so but it was implied). If only Hannibal survived the fall, he would have eaten whatever he could find or hold on to of Will, and then gone on with his life and promises (Alana, Bedelia, etc).
If Will had been the one to survive, I believe he would have done the same to Hannibal, possibly leaving some sort of artful monument to Hannibal as well (think of Randall Tier, that man he hung as a bug). And I think he would have followed through on Hannibal’s promises as if they were his own. I can’t imagine he would try to go back to his own life, at least not completely. Hannibal is a part of him and he must continue that way. Maybe he would go off and live his serial killer life. Maybe he would pretend the innocent and go back to his old life while killing in secret as Hannibal had done.

I’m christening a new term within fandom: Schrödinger’s Canon.
Schrödinger’s Canon (n.): something that is both simultaneously canon and not canon.
An example of Schrödinger’s Canon can be deleted scene or a comment made from an official creator of the piece of media.
This tweet from the official account of the psych writer’s room would be considered Schrödinger’s Canon.
Another example could be the comments made by the showrunner of Hannibal confirming that Will and Hannibal’s relationship is, in fact, queer, despite the series ending before any explicitly queer content was included.
I believe that the deleted scene with Eddie and Chris today is Schrödinger’s Canon.

Hey Pacific Rim fans, ready for something interesting?
Today I was looking at screencaps of Hannibal Chau's apothecary, and it clicked that the shopkeeper has something kinda interesting going on with his design. Here's a picture if you need a refresher on what he looks like:
(Thanks, movie-screencaps.com!)
Like Hannibal Chau, he wears a pair of round sunglasses. But where Hannibal Chau wears reds and golds, the shopkeeper wears black, white, gray, and violet.
Now as you might recall, there's a big fucking sunburst in the middle of the processing room behind the secret passageway. Hannibal Chau has some kinda solar motif goin' on:
So if Hannibal Chau is in some sense the sun, then perhaps the shopkeeper, a sort of pale reflection of Hannibal Chau himself clothed in nighttime colors, is the moon. (Perhaps that's also why they wear round sunglasses - to suggest the shape of the sun and the moon?)
Also, just to see if there was anything there, I went and looked up the entry on the moon in Man Myth and Magic - An Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Supernatural, the encyclopedia set that Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters informs us that he read as a child.
A few lines stick out in particular:
In a number of legends, the moon is regarded as male, and the 'Man in the Moon' is said to have a lustful attraction for all females…
Among certain tribal communities the moon is regarded as a lecherous male who roams the earth…
Now as you probably remember, the first thing this guy does in the movie is ask Newt if he's come to buy some kaiju bone powder. For, you know, male potency. He even claims he takes it himself.
This is another one of those things that I can't prove, and I'm not saying Guillermo del Toro absolutely must have done this on purpose, because it's surprisingly easy for thematic serendipity to emerge when you're writing. But given what an immense nerd del Toro is, I really, really have to wonder!

This will be my one and only post on the subject of post-s3 canon-compliant Hannigram...
...unless ofc the show gets renewed, which, at this point--it won't, lbr. Martha de Laurentiis was the show's champion and navigator of the rights issues, and she has literally died. If anyone else is championing it, I don't know about it. Maybe something can come through eventually as the new company leadership gets shit figured out, idk. But I'm not holding my breath.
That's the key point here which most of these asks don't seem to recognize: they want me to give an opinion on the state of the relationship, and whether or not Hannibal and Will can be together for a long term and maintain contentment in their relationship with each other: the Happy Ever After Question. But what these asks are most notably NOT doing--even though the askers always frame it as if they are--is asking me about the kind of storytelling would be likely in a continuation of the show: the Plot? What Plot? question. They want to have their plot cake and happily eat it ever after too. And it just doesn't work that way.
These are really very, very different questions. And what would happen if the show actually did come back has as much to do with what would have to happen to resurrect the show out of rights oblivion and then negotiate endless contracts AND how the creatives own lives and circumstances may have changed them and their points of view over the years, as well as the years themselves.
And because the show is very likely never coming back it's really a moot point now. Fantasize however you want. Write fic however you want. It's your damn story now, not the creatives. So in answer to the first, Happy Ever After Question, yeah, sure, why the fuck not. Let Hannigram have forever. But wait--you like plot with your porn? Then by all means give them some conflict. Tear them from the seams, their skin, their bones. Does that make you happy now?
But stop pulling down other people who are doing it in a different way than you're doing it, even if you can't understand it. Yeah, you know who you are....
As for the ~cANoN~ question, let's also be real for a second. If the show were renewed TODAY, it will have been more than a decade between seasons three and four, and Bryan Fuller has been pretty clear that Hannibal and Will are together during that time. So CAN they stay together for a period of years? Yeah, sure, why the fuck not. Obviously they HAVE.
But also--if the show were to come back, would they be destined for angsty shit and conflict and, yanno, PLOT? Again, obviously. It's a ridiculous notion that the show would continue without it. Flip side of that, though, is the equally ridiculous notion that seems to be floating around that if they can't be Disney princesses in their happily-ever-after together, then they can't be together at all, or at least, not for long. That's also absurd.
So let's touch base with what we know, and not what we each individually prefer.
Let's pretend--perhaps ambitiously--for a minute that if the show did ever come back it would be following the plan that we were left off with. It would stretch into 3 more seasons, with Cuban, Korean, and Cajun dishes iirc for episode titles. Bryan Fuller was pretty clear that season four would dive into an untapped portion of the books, revisit season one in a "really interesting way," and be pitched as Angel Heart meets Inception. Will might achieve happiness but not till the ending of the whole thing. That's what we know. Sorry I can't cite any of this; I haven't looked up a Hannibal article in half a decade.
So, leaving aside specifics and just getting to the question at hand, what we do know from season 1 is that Hannibal and Will were together. So, logically, they're probably together in any theoretical season 4. And OF COURSE they would be--they just spent all of S3 apart. You gotta vary this shit up. And they have to have internal and external conflicts, because writing 101. And the internal conflicts are meaningless--as would be all the rest of the preceding show--unless they're deeply and passionately invested in and love each other. That was the whole frickin' point of S3.
I don't honestly even understand how any of this is a question or a debate. Why are y'all even arguing in this the year of our lord almost 2024, and making me grumpy by sending me endless asks about stuff that's been answered for years and years. Why did I have to read with my OWN TWO EYES that someone who joined the fandom in 2016 (!!!) is so #FandomOld that people are afraid to argue with them????
...
So, y'all, this is all I'm willing to say about a potential continuation and ending of the show:
In a simple sense, the pattern the show was setting up is S1 & S4 Hannigram is together and solving crimes (at least in some weird Angel Heart way), S2 & S5 is semi-together, semi-apart Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane thing (with other stuff), and S3 & S6 on-the-run culminating in Something Big (probably at least partially apart). That doesn't mean this is the way the show would go, but it'd be very easy to write Clarice or an expy coming into the story to chase them down and end up mentored by them (either one or both) with this format.
As for the very final ending of the whole thing, the ending *I* would write may not be the same as what Bryan Fuller would write, but to me it seems both obvious where the show should go and that it would be completely and utterly satisfying to shippers and non-shippers alike. And I have run my theoretical ending by devout Hannigram shippers, and it met their approval. So if I can come up with something that both works for them and works for my sense of completionism in storytelling, then I'm sure Bryan Fuller could. He's way more practiced than me.
I have consistently said that I do not relate to the notion that it'd be better to have them together in one's imagination than it would be to actually see Mads and Hugh acting together in the ACTUAL SHOW, regardless of how that ends. Because here's the thing: my imagination is boundless and endless, and I can get an unlimited amount of Hannigram doing whatever the fuck I please whenever the fuck I please. More show, on the other hand, is rare as hen's teeth. I would take that miracle if I could get it.
The End.

Hannibal (the TV series) seasons in one sentence:
Season 1: The least amount of police procedural you will ever see in a police procedural.
Season 2: Reins are off now, fuckers, let's do some goddamn character work!
Season 3: Wherein the first half is Hannibal writing fanfiction and the second half has completely new main characters.
#geeky talks#geeky talks hannibal#this just popped into my head#this was a very good series but it is a wild fucking ride#various notes about my sentences#season 1's sentence is because the writer of show didn't want to do a police procedural#it is absolutely hilarious to watch with that in mind#because you can watch as he does less and less of it each episode#season 2 is absolutely the best season because he finally got to do what he wanted which was character work#if you don't like character work you're going to fucking *hate* season 2#there's probably a decent chance you won't like the ending of season 1 either#season 3 is fucking wild#it wasn't necessarily bad but it definitely wasn't what i'd call anywhere near the standards of the second season#but geeky what do you mean by hannibal writes fanfiction#listen this is impossible to explain unless you've seen the third season#but i feel like if you've watched the third season you're just nodding your head right now all#yep that sounds about right#the last half of season 3 is honestly pretty disappointing#hannibal and will are just basically not in it#it's such a bizarre choice for a last season of a tv show where the entire show was based around hannibal and will#i can't remember if i read this somewhere or if it's just speculation (which i feel is supported by the season)#but the writer really wanted to do red dragon and just ran out of time#so instead of just shrugging and saying ah well and writing something else#he felt the need to jam the entire book in the second half of season 3#so it's all about the characters from red dragon and will and hannibal are also there sometimes#did really love the actual ending of the show though

"Flip side of that, though, is the equally ridiculous notion that seems to be floating around that if they can't be Disney princesses in their happily-ever-after together, then they can't be together at all, or at least, not for long. That's also absurd."
--- by boneareanaofmyskull 💀
But why is it absurd, hypothetically, if we think about S4? there's so much to unpack. Let's start with TWOTL script ending;
there, Will was supposed to launch himself at Hannibal, pushing both of them to their deaths. Ever wondered how a script can be the key to unlocking a showrunner's true vision for their masterpiece? Bryan’s vision is showcased in the script.
The end illustrates why a long-term relationship is impossible. I don't understand how many times I have to go through the point; he literally preferred to die rather than the murder husbands. Bryan is not a reliable source of information; he says too many things to cater to the audience. He needs the audience, so he always has to be supportive of Hannigram; that's why I always see his canon works more. Of course, the show is not coming back, and if it did, Bryan would again need to cater to the audience, and he would show Hannigram together because, let's face it, it's been a decade now.
BUT, if he got the chance to make S4 or 5, 6, or 7, then his vision would be different; his ideas would be different. If it were still 2015, then the next seasons would not consist of lovey-dovey Hannigram, but I'm pretty sure it would be Will Graham totally rejecting Hannibal, and maybe the show ends with Hannibal's death.

On the use of William for Will Graham in fan fiction, since criticism of it circulates routinely:
It’s his legal name, per the prop department, and a very brief mention in the novels.
Would anyone ever call him that outside of a court or a first time appointment? No.
Would Hannibal be so uppity he would insist? Absolutely not - it would isolate Will from him since Will doesn’t go by that.
But it is his name.

i just think maybe instead of constantly going "season 4? season 4 when?" we should appreciate the beauty of this fandom lasting so long with 0 content in a world where media is made to be consumed. and nothing else
#ramblings#in a world where we got a zillion marvel shows/movies in a ridiculously short timespan we should appreciate the staying power#of this amazing show#nbc hannibal#i get it but im gonna be so real. canon s4 would never live up to our imagination#10 years worth of fanfiction and fan speculation is worth so much more than whatever bryan fuller could give us <3

Eric Andre also campaigned for Bernie in 2020, heckled Alex Jones’s, and put Larry king in his place. He’s a fuckin icon.
#also I think he had a falling out with Hannibal buress over Hannibal’s support of andrew yang#but that’s just idle speculation on my part

Hi so I recently read an interesting post where someone mentioned that Will would not adopt dogs in fear of Hannibal harming them when he gets too angry with Will , what u think about it? Also do u have a post where u have discussed about Will and his dogs
Thank you !!
If I get asks like this, I'm going to approach them from the perspective of trying to write post S3 fanfic in a way that would feel like canon, since that seems the main application at this point. So if you want to do something different with your fic, just take this as advice for what to have to write around in order to make your choices have that feel, and if you're not looking for a canon feel, just disregard.
It's important to remember that Will's dogs are a part of him and represent the best of him from at least Alana's POV (and probably most of the audience's), and Hannibal's violence with regard to Will is all very goal-oriented (even if the goal is focused on Hannibal instead of Will). We don't have any evidence of Hannibal harming animals for its own sake, so unless harming the animals is something that would serve a very, very specific goal, there's no reason to believe Hannibal would harm any dogs Will might have because that would tend to push Will in directions Hannibal doesn't want him to go.
That said, Hannibal demonstrated with Randall Tier and Dolarhyde that he has no qualms about putting Will's dogs at risk, and between that and the general instability of being a fugitive, I don't think that a post-S3 Will would adopt dogs, though he might befriend some street dogs or some such. Hannigram living together forever in some cute hamlet and getting puppies for Christmas is probably a bit silly as a conception, realistically, but all good for feels.
More notably, Will being distanced from the part of himself that the dogs represent would invite their absence on screen symbolically. At least for a while. Finding a way to bring him full circle to rescuing dogs at the very end of his path, as a symbol for finding himself, would bookend his story nicely.

Since you mentioned that the fandom doesn't talk about Will's reaction to Hannibal's death what according to you would be his reaction? I hope you base his response as closely to canon as possible.
The series portrays their connection as deeply intertwined, with moments of both conflict and mutual understanding so if Hannibal were to die, Will Graham's emotional response could be multifaceted.
There might be a complex interplay of relief from Hannibal's darker influence, a sense of freedom, and yet an emotional void due to the intricate nature of their connection. Hannibal's death could serve as a catalyst for introspection, prompting Will to reevaluate his identity and moral stance.
The circumstances surrounding Hannibal's death and the evolving dynamics between the two characters would likely shape the nuanced emotional landscape of Will's reaction, creating a pivotal moment in his character development.
Considering the show's emphasis on psychological intricacies and the blurred lines between protagonist and antagonist, a combined interpretation that acknowledges the potential relief from Hannibal's darker influence, a sense of freedom, and yet an emotional void aligns with the nuanced storytelling style of "Hannibal." The series often explores the psychological impact of characters' actions on each other, making a multifaceted reaction from Will Graham plausible within the thematic context of the show.

Yeah ngl 8 years later and I’m still reeling from the vast depression in my own psyche that this show has carved out and laid eggs inside
hannibal is so cringefail because how do you successfully get away with literal murder and cannibalism for years all while being a well respected sophisticate and food connoisseur and then risk it all for a guy covered in dog hair who is also an asshole and also wants to kill you real bad

I love speculating on characters' parents because it makes their behavior as adults make sense. Thanks to the little bits Will gave us about his parents, we made a few interesting theories like oh his father was good but emotionally distant or oh he was always drunk and abusive or that his mom was sick or that she was a serial killer or that she just left.
But when it comes to Hannibal? I'm so frustrated they died when he was so young cause what do you mean I can't blame them for shit?? I love blaming parents in media. All we have is the fact that he watched his parents die, was held hostage, starved and forced to eat his sister then sent to an orphanage where he was abused. And I can't use the parents excuse as well because we genuinely know nothing about them, thanks Hannibal for being five and not remembering/addressing it much

PART TWO: SILVER TONGUED DEVIL
Also on AO3
Part One // Mini-Series Masterlist
Pairing: Hannibal Lecter x Nurse!Fem!Reader
WC: 3.1k words
Chapter Summary: In order to form a deeper connection with Hannibal, hoping to keep him complacent, Doctor Chilton allows you to have dinner with him…. Mostly unsupervised.
Warnings: MINORS DNI THIS FIC IS 18+, slight canon divergence (frederick is still head of baltimore state hospital), manipulation all around, some jealousy, corruption, smut, handjob, kinda audio voyeurism but not really?, also kinda exhibitionistic but not really??, some alcohol consumption, aaaand thats all i can think of rn but lmk if i missed anything!
————-
You waited outside of the double doors with a guard, patiently carrying Hannibal’s meal tray. He had a visitor, a mutual acquaintance of Doctor Chilton’s, and they were not to be disturbed.
You couldn’t understand why you had to be standing there, but you figured it was a power move on Doctor Chilton’s part. Reminding you of your place.
Your eyes flicked up to the security camera in the corner, suspecting he was watching more than one of them at a time. More than half an hour had passed, the silence stretching on infinitely. The guard had briefly tried to engage you in small talk, but he had quickly realized it was pointless. You already knew what sort of questions he would ask if he felt like he had any leeway, and you were not in the mood for it.
Already there were rumors speculating the sort of favors Hannibal was asking of you. You’d felt the gazes on you, caught the murmurs behind your back. You couldn’t deny that the more animal part of you, the one that had no such regard for personal safety, hadn’t thought about him that way.
A few times, he had slipped a folded piece of paper for you to find when you retrieved his meal trays. Always sketches of you, symbolic renditions meant to convey messages. His attention to detail was astounding. Almost… devoted, in a way.
Every time you posed for him, you found yourself enjoying his focus more and more. The thrill of it all was narcotic, but you only hated that it had brought other people’s attention to you.
The doors suddenly opened and a tall, well dressed woman stepped out. She was strikingly beautiful, with icy blue eyes and neatly styled dark hair. Her lips were painted ruby, which further accentuated her features in an elegant but almost severe way.
Doctor Alana Bloom was her name. You’d heard of her from both Doctor Chilton and Hannibal, but you hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting her in person until then.
“My, you’re a looker,” she said, inspecting you as if you were an insect under a microscope. “No wonder.”
You only smiled politely, internally seething. She could see right through you, smiling in return.
“He’ll charm the pants off you if you’re not careful.”
With that, she walked away, heels clicking down the hallway. The guard next to you let out a huff and you shot a glare in his direction.
He pushed off the wall and followed her, while you turned the other way and slipped into Hannibal’s cell room.
“Sorry, it might be a little cold,” you said as a greeting, making your way over to the slot.
“You were waiting for me?” He asked.
“I was told to wait until you were done, yes.”
He noticed you were avoiding looking at him, though the displeasure itself wasn’t directed at him. He smiled a little to himself with satisfaction.
“Doctor Bloom is an old colleague of mine, but our history goes a little further than that,” he said. “A futile affair, that was.”
“No rekindling the flame then?” You asked before you could stop yourself.
Of course that wasn’t what the visit was about, you knew as much. But you were still bristling from her words, and the smugness in them.
“No,” Hannibal said. “I’m afraid we are mutually uninterested, though we have some business left over.”
You hummed in thought, composing yourself. “I apologize for asking, it’s none of my business.”
“You may ask me whatever you want. I won’t mind telling you.”
You tilted your head to the side, where another camera was perched up in the corner.
“We don’t have such liberties,” you said pointedly. “Though who knows? Maybe there’s an argument for our case.”
With that, a small, coquettish grin and a glance in his direction. Hannibal sat up straighter, licking his lips. He glanced up at the camera, also well aware that Frederick was listening.
If anything, the two of you had been enjoying toying with him in any small way you could. It drove him crazy, but he mostly seethed in silence, knowing he was equally matched in this game.
“Perhaps dinner might be a good place to start,” he said.
“Oh yes, I would like that very much,” you said, exaggerating a wistful sigh. “But we shall see.”
————————————
“You know, you’re getting a little bold with all these requests,” Doctor Chilton said, arms crossed over his chest.
“I know you have your methods of trying to get information out of him — or at least you think so,” you said, unbothered. “I mean, he has been much more forthcoming because of me, hasn’t he? I have my methods, too.”
He let out a sardonic chuckle. “Clearly. Others seem to think so, too, no?”
You didn’t give in to his goading, changing the subject instead. “Much luck with Doctor Bloom?”
“Some, actually,” he said, his sneer faltering. “But that shouldn’t really concern you. You’re still his favorite little doll to play with.”
And you mine, you thought to yourself, containing a grin.
“I’m aware,” you said instead, raising an eyebrow. “So it’s not too unreasonable to have dinner with him, especially with the glass still separating us.”
“Oh, but you’d be so much more useful if you were up close and personal. I could put you in one of the interrogation rooms and keep him handcuffed... But the problem is, he asked for total privacy. No cameras and no audio recordings,” he countered. “I cannot possibly do both. You know that’s not how it works.”
You pretended to think about it for a moment, but you already knew what the obvious answer was.
“No cameras, then,” you said. “I would say that’s fair, no? You might not care for the video footage, anyway, not without sound.”
He narrowed his eyes but nodded in assent, knowing it was the best he would get. The ghost of a self-satisfied smile was on your lips, pleasure at getting what you wanted dancing in your eyes.
As long as the rest of the team was getting the information they needed, by whatever means necessary, he supposed he couldn’t grouse too much. Regardless, that didn’t make him any less annoyed at being backed into a corner.
“You get an hour and a half tops,” he said with finality. “Work your magic. And wear something nice, why don’t you?”
————————————
The table had already been set for you when you arrived. A mediocre attempt at something romantic, with a few little tea lights and a half-dead flower in a plastic cup. You supposed the guards couldn’t be bothered with such nonsense, but it was also more mockery on Frederick’s part.
But at that very moment, you couldn’t care less. In fact, you found yourself… excited for the night's events.
It was nice not to wear your uniform for once, your nicest black dress in its place. It was nothing too special, but you only wore it on certain occasions, such as dates.
And while this may be the macabre version of a date, it was a date nonetheless.
You’d styled your hair differently, put on a little make up and even wore perfume, which you were rarely able to do. It was liberating in a way, as if granting you permission to step out of bounds a little more. You wouldn’t waste such an opportunity.
Your heels clicked softly on the linoleum floor as you slowly paced the room, anxiously waiting. You glanced down at your watch, and right as it hit eight o’clock, the door opened. Hannibal was led in by a guard, his hands cuffed in front of him. He smiled at the sight of you, his eyes roaming up and down to better appreciate you.
Your heart immediately started racing, both from nerves and giddiness. You focused solely on him as he was led to the table, the situation becoming less surreal by the second. Despite the fact that he was in his usual jumpsuit, you could tell he had meticulously groomed himself as best as he could.
Another guard came in to place two trays on the table, but the food wasn’t from the cafeteria. Apparently, Hannibal had been allowed to cook a two-course meal, dessert included. There was even some wine, but you had to settle for plastic cups instead of glasses. Not that either of you seemed to mind, too busy sizing each other up.
It felt strange, not seeing him through a thick panel of glass, but it was even stranger to sit right across from him. You only had to reach out your arm and you’d be able to touch him… if it wasn’t forbidden, of course.
“I’m surprised Doctor Chilton did not join us for dinner,” he said as the guard cuffed him to the table.
“He’ll be here in spirit,” you said, briefly nodding at the two guards before they stepped out of the room. “But I think it’s better this way, don’t you agree?”
“Much better,” he agreed, pausing a moment until the door finally shut. “You look beautiful, by the way… And you smell good enough to eat. Just as I thought you would.”
You grinned at his dark sense of humor, suppressing a shudder as you crossed your legs and leaned back. “Well, flattery will get you anywhere.”
“And wine?”
He grabbed the already uncorked bottle of wine and raised his eyebrows. You nodded and he poured for both of you.
“We shall see,” you said, taking the cup from him and holding his gaze.
“Well, a toast to our very gracious host,” he said, raising his cup. “For making all this happen.”
You tapped your cup against his with a soft cheers before taking a sip. He proceeded to give you a detailed explanation of what you would be eating, nearly putting you in a trance. His voice had a hypnotic quality to it, managing to soothe your nerves. Without really noticing, the two of you were leaning forward, the conversation taking on an almost intimate quality – even if the subject matter was anything but.
Before he touched his food, he encouraged you to try first. He watched you eat, his amber eyes lingering on your lips as you licked them. You had never tasted anything so complex or refined, but knowing it was put together by him made it even more of a delicacy. You let out a pleasured hum, barely holding back from getting another bite.
“My compliments to the chef,” you said, taking another sip of wine instead. “It’s almost enough to convince me to eat anything you cook.”
He chuckled. “Oh, if we were not within these four walls, I would have made a whole feast just for you. I’m sure Frederick has told you of my dinner parties.”
“But then it’s likely we wouldn’t have met outside these walls,” you said, not wanting to talk about Doctor Chilton. “Unless, of course, you frequent this sort of place.”
“I am not unfamiliar, I will give you that,” he said. “But our meeting has been the only good thing about this whole situation, and for that, I am grateful.”
You put a hand on your chest, teasingly pretending to be touched. “How sweet, are you going to quote more Byron for me next?”
He laughed, finally digging into his food. Conversation flowed with surprising ease as you continued to eat. Perhaps it was partly due to the wine, but it also helped that you were eager to listen to his thoughts on things. You were well aware of his intelligence, and it was stimulating to finally talk to someone that had so many layers to uncover.
By the time you got to dessert, he was bold enough to spoon feed you the first bite, awaiting your reaction. The taste was just as amazing, but you were more interested in the gesture. The way he was gazing at you with ardor, kindling your insides – A hunger of a different kind.
“Tell me something,” he said, clearing his throat. “If it weren’t for Frederick, would you have accepted an invitation to dine with me?”
“Depends, if you’d played your cards right, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it would’ve been possible.” You tilted your head to one side slightly. “But you’re much too valuable, are you not? They have to keep you happy.”
“You certainly have.”
You let out a huff of amusement, propping your elbow on the table and resting your chin on your hand. Briefly, you thought again of all the rumors circulating about the two of you. This time, though, it didn’t really seem to matter all that much anymore. They’ll keep talking anyway, so why not just do whatever the hell I want?
You raised an eyebrow, smirking. “Do you always manage to get what you want?”
He shrugged as if he couldn’t help it, making you chuckle. “What’s your secret, hmm? How do you do it?”
“You aren’t able to come any closer, are you?”
“Of course not, Hannibal.” You pretended to scoff. “We’ve got to keep our hands to ourselves, too.”
There was a devilish grin on your face as you slowly got up from your seat. You slipped your shoes off and brought a finger to your lips to indicate silence. It was titillating, truth be told, to be straddling the fine line between reckless abandon and caution. Especially when you were clearly leaning more towards one side.
“Pity,” he said, watching your every move, smile mirroring your own. “I would have liked to whisper it in your ear.”
You slid onto the chair next to him and he turned his body to face you. You looked down at his jumpsuit, locating the zipper, before looking back into his eyes. He slightly dipped his chin in assent, and you reached a hand up to his chest.
“Tell me something else, then,” you said, dragging it down slowly so as not to make much noise.
“Like what?” he asked, holding his breath as more and more of his body was revealed.
His blood was quickly flowing south, the consequences of this becoming apparent as the zipper reached the end of the line. Your mouth fell open in both surprise and eagerness, exhaling a shuddery breath. He kept his hands off as you carefully eased his erection out of his underwear, fingertips brushing the velvety underside.
“Anything at all,” you said, trying to keep your voice even. “You’re a romantic, aren’t you? I want to hear your ideas on love.”
You stood up and slid your panties down your legs without lifting your dress too much. You watched him swallow hard as you sat back down, letting the fabric fall on his lap.
“For the mess,” you whispered in his ear, your body pressed close to his. “And a little souvenir for you to keep after.”
He nodded, spine straightening as you planted a kiss just beneath his earlobe. You held his gaze as you spat in the palm of your hand and reached down to curl your fingers around his shaft. His hips immediately bucked into your grip, and you heard him suck in a breath.
“Love, hmm?” He cleared his throat. “You want to know what makes me tick?”
“Absolutely,” you purred, hand moving up and down slowly, wrist flicking slightly when you reached the tip. “Though I may already have a few ideas...”
As much as you wanted to tease him, elongating his pleasure, you didn’t have much time to spare. Your faces were close together, but you fought off the urge to kiss him. His breathing became more labored as your hand continued its rhythmic movements, the heady scent of you – and of your arousal – enveloping him.
He’d had his fantasies about you on many late nights, but your actual touch was another thing entirely, better than what he could have imagined. And knowing he was affecting you in the same way… the chain of his handcuff rattled against the table a little as he strained, trying his hardest not to touch you back. He would want you to be loud, anyway, and that was not an option there.
“W-well, I certainly like to be surprised,” he said haltingly. “And I admire boldness. But to love in itself is a bold a-action, wouldn’t you agree?
“I wouldn’t know much about that,” you said, slicking his pre-cum around the head of his cock with your thumb. “But I do know how to be a lover.”
The light graze of your teeth on his earlobe made his body jerk, his cock pulsing in your hand. You picked up the pace, his chest heaving as his hips almost involuntarily rocked to meet each stroke. Your lips moved to his jaw and down to his neck, and you listened to him babble about something else, trying to fill in the silence.
Your attention was on his body’s reactions and you could tell he was dangerously close to the edge. You silently warned him not to stop talking as his cock began to twitch, and you had only seconds before you quickly had to cover your hand with your discarded panties. He bit his bottom lip as he spilled all over the fabric, little noises of pleasure stuck in his throat, one hand gripping your arm.
You smiled against his skin, lavishing his neck with some more attention as he faintly sighed your name. And when he was done riding out his high, you turned his face towards you and planted a small kiss on his lips as if to reward him.
He was panting, still lost in the dizzying aftershocks of his orgasm, but you helped clean him up some and zipped his jumpsuit back up, your panties still hidden within. You glanced down at your watch, seeing you only had twenty minutes left.
You slipped back to your side of the table as if nothing was amiss, but the devious glint in your eyes was undeniable. He was lost and he knew it, already wanting – no, needing – more. So much more. Luckily, it was as you had said; He’d always been good at getting what he wanted.
“I’ve had a really good time tonight, Hannibal,” you sighed contentedly, already aware you would be carrying this with you for the rest of the night. “You sure are good company.”
“As are you,” he said, his voice calmer, though something was lurking underneath. “Perhaps… we might arrange for it to happen soon.”
A thrill danced over your skin at the prospect of it. “Perhaps. Only if you’re on your best behavior.”
