She pushed her needle through the fabric with confidence, following the complicated, swooping pattern connecting all the tiny pomegranates she had embroidered and beaded earlier. The light caught on the tiny scars dotting her hands. “Your hands are so interesting,” I said without thinking. Calliope smiled. “That’s good! You’re applying what I’ve just told you. Antonia would like that one. She was raised in the Sisterhood; she’s passionate about archery. Not a lot of people appreciate that and she doesn’t advertise it, either.”
