If anyone is interested in how I create my stained glass pieces, I thought I'd do some posts on it!
Part 3: Foiling complete, time to solder! I start by tacking all the main spots where pieces join to keep the piece together. Then I work on all the lines and getting a rounded solder look everywhere. Most stained glass is made with a solder that contains lead. I prefer to use lead-free solder which is harder to control but it makes me feel better not having to worry about lead in my pieces. Some pieces have a copper border and others don't. At the end I add any loops for hanging or decoration bits.

It's kinda funny when someone sees me unravel a fiber project either partially or completely, and gets distressed on my behalf and I have to go "No no no, it's part of the process! You gotta trust the process."

hello Tumblr. Do you like paper models of geometric shapes? Do you like pictures of works-in-progress? Do you like fictional minerals? Do you want to buy this? Let me know by liking, reblogging, and sending me asks.
This is a prototype shape: the first time I'd attached these 20 points onto a base icosidodecahedron. I went with a basic palette of three shades of purple.

Hi TRUMP tumblr!! Over the past few days I've been trying to get into the TRUMP series chronologically but it's proven to be difficult. I can't afford the DVDs or the BDs for the plays, so getting the raws has been hard.
Only a few of the plays are on Aidoru, so I've had to try and get the other raws from Nyaa, which is excruciatingly slow(I'm talking like 3MB every hour)compared to Aidoru, and I find that I can't bring myself to wait that long...The MEGA links for the raws on Nyaa are also useless, because of MEGA's transfer quota for free accounts. So I've been wondering if there are any other sources for the raws that I could use that are fast? Perhaps a google drive, or another website(I'm on mobile so I imagine that also has to be taken in to account)? Any help is appreciated :D!!

School Project "Chimera" -
One of my projects I'm really proud of. This all started in November 2020 in art school, because of Lockdown the whole process kind of slowed down and suddenly it was 2022😅 I was so glad to finally finish this project in 2022, it was really stressful but in the end I'm really proud of me😊
Wanted to show you the whole process of this project, sadly forgot to take more pictures of the process but at least I have some pictures to show you.
And yes its Uta from the anime Tokyo Ghoul, just with a few detail changes since my teacher didn't let me copy the original character version for my needle painting project.
As an artist he's a huge inspiration for me, just the whole character is so awesome, mysterious and cool! In the end it looks really awesome 😊
Why did I choose the title "Chimera"?
Actually I wanted to name my project dream but in Latin (somnia), but this sounded too much like something from Final Fantasy 😅then I searched a synonym for dream and Chimera was a cool synonym so I chose this as the title. I mean ghouls are kind of Chimeras so it kind of suits it.

Long Face #4, 5, & 6 (Faces)
Tumblr media
As you might now see, I'm a little obsessed with faces that look like a cross between Tiki Gods and tribal African Masks. (Sorry for the generalization... there are very, very big distinctions between regions and villages when it comes to African Masks. I apologize for not being specific; I gathered inspiration over decades of looking at masks and they melded together into my subconscious.)
Most of the "Faces" series are pulled together spontaneously from slab scraps left over from other projects... well, the faces are... They were almost all done with a stoneware clay body called Sheba Raku, which is flexible to use, dries slowly enough to work over time, and resistant to heat and cooling of the Cone 6 electric firing (thanks to the grog in the clay). They are all done between 2005 & 2008.
These all stand about 12" (30cm) and are glazed in alternating coats of variegated green and cream glaze, brushed on.
They lived as garden gnomes for a short time, then found other homes in the world.

Heya, friends! I'm going to do a livestream Tuesday evening to show off the new wooden wall-mounted Santa's Workshop DisPlayset, show how I put one together, and answer questions about the project, the Christmas characters, whatever y'all are keen to ask. I hope you'll join me!

Part 2 of the process photos for the Xmas dishtowels! Technically both the warp for moms gift AND my sisters gradient scarp warp off to the side. It was such a pretty braid when it came off the board.

If anyone is interested in how I create my stained glass pieces, I thought I'd do some posts on it!
Part 2: Once the glass is cut to the shape I need, I clean all the pieces and begin copper foiling! I take the copper foil and begin wrapping it around every glass piece by hand. Once it is stuck to the glass, I use a tool to smooth out the foil as much as possible before soldering. I go over the lines and if something is uneven, I use an exacto knife to remove it.
Here is where you get to see how good of a job you did cutting! If I didn't make the pieces fit properly before foiling, then they end up not fitting in their place, and there's a domino effect as each next piece doesn't fit either!
