I cannot express enough that if your reaction, as a hobby artist, to not getting that many notes on your art is to say "maybe I should just stop doing art altogether" you need to stop posting art to tumblr
not necessarily forever, not even for long, but just stop putting your art on here and start doing it for you again, remember why you enjoyed doing art in the first place and stop relying on the attention of faceless people on the internet for your enjoyment of your hard work
believe me, I get it, nothing crushes the artistic soul quite like labouring for hours on a piece only for it to get like 10 notes, so you need to find your own source of joy in the act of creation and a lot of the time that means making art and not showing it to anybody

they need to invent a way to directly project my thoughts into my document bc it's so cruel when i'm writing whole stories in my head but my body is too tired to actually type them

the thing that frustrates/worries me the most about the AI boom is that honestly for the average person the computer is already just a magic box that poofs images/sounds/video into existence
there's no basis of understanding to buffer what's about to happen
months ago I tried explaining to my sister that Pixar doesn't just 'tell the computer what to do' and nothing clicked like its rough out here fr

drafting and planning my little temeraire inspired agszc fic, and the puzzlepieces of this massive narrative are starting to take shape!! With everything from subplots to political intrigue to romance and detailed planning of what happens when and where kinda working out, I just need to actually make sure it all connects smoothly now! but did I also just spend a couple of hours trying to fit in the concept of a dragon taking up fishing to pass the time, simply because the idea seemed so silly, for plot reasons?
