What Dreams May Come

Shen Yuan dies from expired food

He doesn't exactly find himself in a new body, but his self-awareness doesn't exactly go away.

Instead, he finds himself bodiless in a dark void with nothing but his thoughts. He has so many thoughts that rage through him about how PIDW ended. He's actually more easily able to focus his anger at Luo Binghe's bad ending than at the fact that he died. With nothing to do but think, he comes up with hundreds of ways the story could have gone that would be more satisfying for his favorite Protagonist.

Eventually, he's not sure exactly when, he realizes that he can manifest visions from his thoughts into the empty space. Landscapes, beasts, swords, and eventually even people--though, unnervingly, it seems he can't do faces.

Things continue like this until one day, his little soap bubble dream world is abruptly popped, and he finds himself in the room of a lavish demonic palace. He still hasn't got much of a body beyond a wisp of smoke, but a pointy eared girl without shoes that he's pretty sure is Sha Hualing??? What the fuck??? Is yelling at him and calling him Meng Mo.

After she mentions releasing him to attack a boy that caught her eye, Shen Yuan (Or... Meng Mo, now) is PUMPED! Not only does he get to meet Luo Binghe, he gets to go and LIVE INSIDE HIM!

Fic Idea: Chaggie/Chaggily child AU except it's Vaggie's child when she was a human. (TW: sex violence)

The idea if Vaggie's human origin still happens.

During her time as a sex worker, Vaggie could accidently be impregnated. The idea she didn't realize she was pregnant until at least the beginning of her early second trimester.

Since abortion is illegal in El Salvador and cultural upbringing, Vaggie could be reluctant to have abortion until decided to carry it.

I cannot think of a name, but I'm calling Vaggie's child Mirabel (lol).

Being disowned by her own family fuck Vaggie up psychologically, and decided to raise her (likely have a girlfriend who helped her).

Vaggie absolutely loves her daughter; she dotted her, she was her moon and sun. Gave her endearing names.

Tragically struck; when Mirabel is between 3-5, Vaggie was killed (either to sex violence, struck by vehicle, gang related death, etc).

Vaggie ascended to Heaven (likely having a traumatic life and still caring for her daughter), but Vaggie was devastated because that meant she separated from Mirabel.

Worse, and this part of my headcanon, time is irrelevant in the afterlife. I get the idea from The Good Place; look up Jeremy Bearimy. That's meant Vaggie will not see Mirabel for hundreds of years.

Every year in the afterlife time, Vaggie will have a somber celebration for Mirabel. I would like to say around September to October. Is Vaggie way for her to grieved for not raising her daughter.

Vaggie was also recruited into the Exorcists early, ascended into an angel.

The fic would follow the canon route: Vaggie did the extermination, spears a sinner, and Lute cut her eye and ripped her wings, Charlie would find her, and both fell in love, opened thr Hotel, battle the Exorcists and won. Also, down the line, Emily would fall too and enter a poly-relation with Vaggie and Charlie because I ship Unholy Trinity.

Like three months after the battle, Vaggie and Charlie hold a somber birthday for Mirabel (Vaggie told Charlie when they started dating).

All the hotel residents wondered who birthday is it, and Vaggie tells them its for her daughter.

Cue everybody is going "WHAT" "YOU HAVE A DAUGHTER" and Emily screamed, "Why didn't you tell me?!".

Even Charlie gasped before saying, "Why am I gasping? I already knew that."

I see Vaggie as a very closed person, won't tell people her past unless she trust them, and seeing she openly celebrating her daughter's birthday means she does now. Also, she likely didn't realized she hasn't tell Emily yet.

Now, here comes the angst: a few days after Vaggie's fell (or forced fall), Mirabel ascended to Heaven.

I don't think Vaggie and her former partner will have a healthy relationship. Not fault for either of them: poverty, homophobic society, and that Vaggie being a sex worker. Vaggie decided to keep Mirabel just add another fight between them.

After Vaggie died, her former partner gave Mirabel up to an orphanage. I do see her feeling guilty and likely giving donations to the orphanage, but that's it.

I will see Mirabel being a selfless girl: the big sister of the orphanage, gave her dinner portion to the children who's nearly starving, is known around the town for helping people, things like that.

She vaguely remembered Vaggie, only remembered that her mother loved her, the pet name, and I believed a nursery song that Vaggie sang to her.

Mirabel likely died around 15-17, and I say either to traffic accident or a bullet stray from a gang shoot-out.

After arriving in Heaven, Mirabel will look everywhere and try to find Vaggie. However, she doesn't know her name and not realize she isn't in Heaven.

A month after the failed extermination, Lute discovered Mirabel, and being the sadistic bastard she is, recruited Mirabel into being an Exorcist, making her an angel too.

She gives half lies about Vaggie: being an Exorcist but was killed during the failed extermination by Charlie's paramor. Since Vaggie never actually introduced herself during the Redemption Hearing, and that Mirabel vaguely remembered how Vaggie looked like (especially her afterlife/her fallen angel form if take fanon route).

Cue Mirabel trained and searched for her mom's killer, not realizing her mom is alive and said killer is her mom.

so actually the original concept for this was isekai where vox ends up getting booted into hell via a universal mishap but i think its funnier like this: where vox dies and since he did technically die for his friends, he ends up ascending to heaven but is greeted by a different angel instead of the seraphims who asks if he'd like a second chance instead

vox says yes thinking he'll just get sent down again and be back w the vees- this does not happen. instead he ends up back at the very first day he fell into hell with a "system" - one that tells him its a "gift" from heaven, no less, thats supposed to guide him through his time in hell to like . minmax his gains + his losses (emotional and material) if that makes sense . so the system walks him through his time in hell but suddenly there seems to be a problem . turns out an unanticipated side effect of the system is that vox has a similar presence to an archangel (the one who Gave him the damn thing) so a lot of people end up assuming hes some kinda fallen angel which makes it like 100% harder for him to go thru life^3

alastor in PARCTICULAR takes a very odd interest in him, wondering and asking if he has wings or if they were "burnt in your fall" meanwhile vox isnt quite sure whether he wants to take the chance to get close to al this time or just leave since deep down he knows itll end badly for him either way. the system makes the choice for him and starts to steer him away from al who in turn becomes even more intrigued by the fallen angel, who for whatever reason he swears feels familiar

valedictorian. practically a million extra curriculars. she can sing she can dance she can cook she can do advanced math she can fix a car jk!dream is everything jk!nightmare isn't (a loser). the types of trouble she gets into though aren't manmade (like some guy trying to rob her) but instead are naturally occurring. like one day the dreamtale household washing machine explodes because dream used it and coincidentally it was because it was faulty or something like that. really really crazy coincidences

nightmare is a fighting force in keeping her little sister alive i swear to god. she has to monitor dream a lot and when she can't she gets one of the mtt to do it for her. because if she doesn't there is bound to be something that hurts her. and because jk!nightmare is an absolute fucking loser who's stupid she came up with the genius idea of roleplaying a bigger issue than the one that dream's about to encounter (because then she gets to keep her safe and also feed into her pretend villian persona). like for example with the washing machine thing earlier nightmare would probably distract dream with some sort of evil monologue and then put her own load in the washer before she could. that way it won't FUCKING EXPLODE (comments from currently existing jk fashion au sanses :3)

they still love eachother in this universe because there was no corruption thing. also nightmare's bullies were just other elementary school kids in this au so it wasn't like fully grown adults vs a 6 year old at least. she's recovered from it (somewhat) and doesn't blame dream. dream's too perfect for anybody to hate her. dream supports nightmare's delusion and nightmare keeps her alive. equivalent exchange (dream has no idea nm is doing this. ok now the mtt‼️

An AU that could be very fun to make is a time travel/fix-it Bingjiu with a small, tiny, inconsequential twist :)

What if Luo Bingge goes back in time (perhaps after seeing Shen Yuan and his pathetic husband Luo Bingmei) and think "I want that too! I want that soft, kind shizun too! Why him and not me?!" And at first, the timeline stays exactly the same. Shen Qingqiu is horrible, he's a lecher and a killer and deserves to suffer from that (+plus casting Bingge in the abyss)

And then an idea worms into Bingge's head (by the power of delulu I gift upon him) that maybe Shen Qingqiu is so horrible to him is because he's also going back in time and trying to stop Luo Binghe from ever becoming such a monster... in the only way he knows, which is to punish and beat and throw into an Endless Abyss rift, a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Then because Shen doesn't show signs of actually remembering the previous "loop", Luo Binghe starts to think that maybe Shen Qingqiu doesn't come from the future like him each time, but he sees the future, of what would be the world if he let Luo Binghe live.

And that should ring some bells of doubt too because it does not explain much or why Shen Qingqiu hurts him and not kill him if it's to spare the world of who he will become (and why kill Liu Qingge, who had a decent chance of fighting and winning against Bingge?) But the power of delulu is strong when Luo Binghe has been going back to the same time, punishment and misery as his disciple time and he gets into his head that maybe, maybe Shen Qingqiu is so horrible to him is not because he's a petty, viciously jealous man but because he cannot show favoritism or special treatment to a student (nevermind all that's happening with Ning Yingying) and Shen Qingqiu is fighting against the whole cultivation world to be with Binghe from the beginning.

So Luo Binghe starts... acclimating... Shen Qingqiu from disciple time to have a sticky, faithful, always present and obedient little sheep (bro is so confused but Bingge has been seducing and manipulating for so long now it's easy to twist his bitter, angry teacher into someone that's more akin to a hurt feral cat just hissing at the world because he cannot trust anyone but the kind hand that still choose him over and over again)

And at the end, they're together, happy as can be and both their wishes are fulfilled (Bingge to have his kind shizun, and Shen Qingqiu to be in a position of power where he wouldn't have to struggle ever again with someone that would never break a promise 💚)

anon i'm taking advantage of this to noodle an au i had in my head recently

"princess beatrice?"

beatrice pauses - the voice is coming from the balcony. a place inaccessible save for her room. the room that she has been occupying for the last several hours since that horrible argument with her father -

she takes a breath. refocuses on the sound of shuffling that is indeed coming from the balcony.

the voice sounds faintly familiar but she still palms one of the knives she was gifted while she'd been studying abroad just in case as she steps towards the curtains leading to the balcony. "who's there?"

"it's me. princess avalin. i just - i was hoping we could talk?"

beatrice barely keeps herself from rolling her eyes. "there's nothing to talk about. especially not to someone who's trespassing." a breeze stirs the curtains - not enough for her to see outside (which also means it's not enough for anyone outside to see inside either). but it brings a scent she remembers; perhaps one of the only comforts she has, now.

"you're right."

beatrice blinks. a suitor, giving up so soon? (then in the back of her mind: a suitor, actually listening?) she hears more shuffling and finds herself edging closer, curious. (wanting to know how she got here, is what she tells herself, nothing more)

"i'll leave you alone. i hope you have a good night, princess."

beatrice flicks back the curtain just in time to see avalin vault over the balcony railing. "wait!" she cries out before she can help herself.

"what?!"

avalin's head pops up over the edge of the railing, eyes wide - as if it wasn't her who'd scared beatrice out of her mind.

"how - how are you doing that?" beatrice asks, stepping closer. it's as if avalin's hovering in mid-air. then, to her utter astonishment: avalin rises higher, standing atop a carpet. a carpet levitating in front of her, in the open air, four stories above the ground. (what the fuck, her mind supplies as her jaw drops)

avalin shrugs, but it doesn't hide the childish joy - glee, even - as she hovers closer. "it's a magic carpet."

"magic - be serious," beatrice scoffs, her mind already turning over the puzzle in front of her.

"i am serious! don't you believe me?" avalin and the carpet move in a lazy circle around her, and that's when beatrice sees it, the source of familiar, comforting scent: a bouquet of flowers. almost the very same that she had found in the marketplace, had talked about to the kind street urchin with the wide smile and warm hands - who'd asked her the very same question, in that same voice.

she turns back to avalin, takes in that grin, that face. avalin's expression is so open, an earnestness that beatrice has seen only once before. but she knows too much to cast it off as something as simple as coincidence; as magic. (no, she thinks as she allows herself to step closer, there's something more)

My habit of watching video game playthroughs while I'm working keeps coming back to bite me (affectionate frustration) and I now have 2.5k words of a Halo AU for Moshang. It's going on the backburner for now, probably to appear eventually as an "Ambiguous/Open Ending" one-shot, but I keep squinting at it trying to figure out how it even happened.

It's the fun of thinking, "How would that even WORK?!" and then thinking, "Oh, wait, I COULD make it work." Fusion AU worldbuilding, my beloved. It's the conviction of realizing that Shang Qinghua could be an AI without a body and he'd still be an alienfucker.

After listening to @mrtobenamedlater talk about how much he hates Sarah Palmer, I felt an incredible urge grow within me to write a story.

In this story, Cadmon Lasky survives and was just cryofrozen by ONI in an effort to keep the Covenant secret. Tom and Chyler end up finding him with Sully's help, and when he gets frozen he decides to become an S-IV.

Eventually he meets another Spartan. She doesn't tell him what ship she's stationed on because of reasons. Anyway they fall for each other, but he's too afraid to tell his little brother (who is now old enough to be his dad) for fear of causing some sort of incident. When things finally do come to a head and he decides to introduce them, he sets up a meeting while they are all on shore leave on Earth at the same time.

Tom and Chyler walk up to the restaurant, eager to meet Cadmon's new lady love. When they get there, they see the commander of the Infinity's Spartan contingent, Sarah Palmer, standing outside looking like she's waiting for someone. They exchange their friendly greetings, finding it odd that she's there, until a cheerful voice calls out from behind them, "Tom, Chyler, Sarah! What, did you guys all catch a cab here together?" He walks up and confidently kisses Sarah on the cheek.

Tom and Sarah both go completely white. "Wait, you're..." Tom stutters. At the same moment Sarah is saying, "You mean he's your..."

Cadmon is confused. Chyler nearly falls over laughing. Tom and Sarah spend an evening not knowing whetehr they should laugh or cry. Everyone has a great time.

We've had an angel-ified V1, what do you think of a machine Gabe?

When I first got the game, my only exposure to it was fanart, and I had assumed from what I'd seen that both V1 and Gabriel were robots made in the image of angels. I've seen some people play around with fanart and theories of Gabe secretly being a machine, what do you think of it?

Also, how do you prefer to receive fan art of Fallen Gabe? Sent over inbox or just tagging you?

i'm honestly very split about how i feel about the idea, because i absolutely love gabriel as an angel and actually how that reflects being a machine despite apparently being so much above earthly existence, yet i also think it's incredibly interesting to explore how turning out to be a machine would affect his entire sense of self. so when i do consider the idea, i naturally like to go half in on it with the thought that gabriel was once an angel but was torn apart and remade as a machine by the council basically as an experiment in obedience. so it's sort of a ghost in the shell scenario, leaving gabriel to wonder what this means for his memories, his existence, and even his identity - is he still an angel for presumably still having the "soul" he once possessed? or is he just a construct given gabriel's memories? and it taps into the genuine pointlessness of his service - he wasn't even made by god, he shares no part in heaven. i think it would genuinely lead to a breakdown of his self and personality, not just by feeling "fake", but to think he may not truly be gabriel, just something that stole a dead man's memories and took pride in an identity that was never his. just a foolish computer that believed all the lies programmed into it. an ai that mimicked gabriel's personality and walked around as his macabre copy (because i think even if he truly once was gabriel, he could never know what digitizing that identity did to it).

i will say it also makes a very unique scenario for him seeking out v1 because he finds the wires and circuits beneath the blood in his body and he just. needs help. he needs someone to tell him what he is. and in that intense panic, he flees to the only machine he kind of...knows. and it's very sweet, v1 teaching him about maintenance and figuring out just what kind of computer he is, as well as the dilemma of him likely running on emergency power as the light was his source. of course, v1 doesn't recognize most of his components (heaven-made electronics! cool!), but it doesn't say anything to that effect since it knows all that's gonna do is panic him again - plus it's confident it can figure it out. so i do really like the element of how they might bond over this and how v1 helps gabriel accept himself as he is...as well as the idea that they go hunting to figure out just what happened in his past - if he was ever truly an angel, if he's entirely constructed, or if he's somewhere in-between.
