✅️ Alexander won his second match in Halle against Sonego 6-4 7-6
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sascha delivered an even stronger performance in his second match in Halle against a skilful opponent. It's always such good energy when Sascha and Sonego play each other, and this match was another high-level battle with good vibes in which Sascha played at a phenomenal level to advance to the quarter-finals.
In the first set, Sascha got off to an impeccable start, breaking Sonego's opening game and holding for 2-0. Sascha held this break to lead 5-3, at which point he missed a few chances to take the set on a double break, and Sonego held for 4-5. Fortunately though, Alexander served the first set out 6-4.
The second set was much tighter, with the set eventually going to a tie-break. Despite going down an early double break to trail 0-3, Sascha struck an incredible forehand followed by an impressive backhand to break back twice and held both of his next two points to lead 4-3. Both continued to hold their points until 6-5 to Sascha, and when he struck a forehand which Sonego sent into the net, Sascha sealed the victory 6-4 7-6.
That was such an incredible performance from Sascha, and so lovely to see him finding his form on grass and in his home country. Let's go, Alexander 🔥
