lydia martin - teen wolf

What I like about them: that she’s smart and cares about her friends. i like that she has intentionally developed relationships with the pack and is becoming more comfortable with who she is, not just as a banshee, but as a person.

What I dislike about them: that she’s being overshadowed by almost everyone else. she’s having the most trouble adjusting to her powers and is getting the least amount of help. i mean, that’s mostly the writing but shhhhh 

Favorite moment: “how do wolves signal their location to the rest of the pack?” ugh that scene gives me shivers cause all of a sudden she’s like I HAVE FIGURED IT OUT but it’s okay sweet pup leader friend i will give u credit.

Least favourite moment: when she’s being totally abused/forgotten/destroyed on-screen

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: um the whole “surprise i’m a banshee” thing - i’m gonna need this explored.

An interesting AU for this character: i don’t know if this is so much an AU than a headcanon-y prediction, but i can’t wait for college!lydia. like, outsmarting her TAs and getting more grant money than her professors and using science to help her pack.

A crossover: i’d love to see lydia in Bones. like, just her, workin’ away in the lab. “dum de dum, someone should have drank more milk as a child so that her bones wouldn’t have been smashed so easily, shouldn’t someone?”

OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship): lydia and allison. 

Other ships?: i’m starting to come around to deputy hotpants parrish. (also i’m total pydia traaaaaaash)

BROTP: lydia and stiles. like, these two PROBABLY SHOULDN’T EVER GET TOGETHER cause that relationship would be hella unhealthy, but they do have the capacity to be two best friends who decide to set the world on fire.

NOTP: meh. none really. 

An assortment of headcanons!: read AU above. also, like, i feel like lydia would be able to communicate with allison and lyd is like “ally, the boys are destroying things again” and allison’s like “yeah they do that it’s cool they survive every damn time”. and, y’know, so they never have to be apart u.u

What I like about them: EVERYTHING MINAKO IS LIFE. um, okay, you’re gonna want actual words - she’s so positive and happy. she loves her friends and cares for them and risks her life for them on a regular basis. she is positive, she is friendly, and she has a hella cool cat. she is my idol.

What I dislike about them: hmmmmmmm i feel like you don’t know who you’re talking to.

Favourite moment: so many??? probably when everyone gets sick and she tries to take care of them but instead is a horrible nurse and makes awful soup and makes the stereo explode oh my sweet cinnamon roll

Least favourite moment: when she dies. all like, 800 times.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: i wish they had tackled the sword and her being such a freaking bamf in the original anime.

An interesting AU for this character: i would dig a famous singer!minako au where she and rei are “rivals” but are really just happy and talented and are so in love

A crossover: could you imagine minako in Firefly? she and kaylee would run everything and wash and captain mal would just be “oh god no this is it this is the end”

An assortment of headcanons!: OH GOSH like how she’s always trying to fix everybody’s problems because she’s like THE LEADER, yeah she knows sailor moon is the leader usagi knows how to do a few things, but sailor venus was like, the lead soldier and warrior and so she feels this enormous responsibility to make sure that everyone is happy and healthy and not dead. also, i’d like to think she gives luna and artemis catnip just to see what they’d be like stoned.

i was just thinking about ways to switch up usual tropes i see in aus and?? slytherin!emma and hufflepuff!regina?

like as first years they’re both terrified to be in their respective houses because emma has no parents and assumes that she’s a muggleborn in a house that hates muggleborns, and some kid told her on the train that all slytherins are evil and she doesn’t want to be evil, she’s not evil, right? or was the head of the orphange right about her? and that’s why she’s never been kept by a family for more than a few months. meanwhile regina was absolutely expected to be a slytherin by her mother/family, but the hat was like “you would succeed in slytherin, but i can see your heart lies elsewhere” and before regina could contest the hat bellowed hufflepuff and she thought her mother was going to appear and cast her out from the family right then and there. they find each other in these terrified states and befriend each other in lieu of their houses (emma is snubbed by a lot of slytherins, and a lot of hufflepuffs fear/mistrust regina bc her mom was a rumored deatheater). 

years past and they both grow into their houses, both grow to love the parts of themselves that they were told they shouldn’t, and fall in love with each other along the way.

Happy winter-holiday-of-your-choice, @halemura (who it will not let me @-tag for some reason so I'm going to tag you in the post as well)!  Have a fic.

Title: Forever If We Want To Rating: Teen Word Count: 5279 Main Pairing(s): Allydia Warnings: None Summary: “Were we lovers, before?” Lydia asks, finally. It’s been preying on her mind for months and months since they met--how familiarly Allison’s always hugged her, how easily they seemed to fall into each others’ step. A thousand years, and Lydia found Allison first. What does that mean? Allison looks at her and smiles that soft smile that Lydia knew from the very first day without knowing. “Sometimes,” she says. “I think it’s been us together a lot.” “Did you want to be again?” Allison presses her lips together, nervous, and suddenly Lydia feels incredibly sixteen--half a virgin, with a handful of experience in messing around with teenage boys in this skin and some vague sense of other lifetimes that she doesn’t really remember at all. And she’s propositioning her best friend.

Notes: 

This was a fun one to do, and a different kind of challenge for me.  There were a couple of false starts (ask me someday about Allison and Kira's adventures as bards stuck in a small fantasy town during the twelve days of Yuletide, and also, a goat) before I landed on this fic.  Interestingly, the pairing was the hardest thing to decide on--the whole world of this story came together very quickly when I started from your "soulmate/reincarnation AU" prompt, but my OTP in this 'verse is actually Kira/Malia.  Who, you may note, don't actually make it into the story.  Lydia was dead-set on being the POV character, so I had to work around a little.

Commentary

This was my second time taking some form of the Meyers-Briggs test. Last time I got ISTJ which I felt was not far off, either.  I feel as though I'm a little softer than ISTJ description and a little harder than this, the INFJ description, so who knows? Maybe I'm bad at taking this test. Anyway, I was happy with some of the characters I shared traits with but I am a little worried about how at least five of these characters have died?? That's not a very good omen.

kira/derek + doctor who au orrr kira/boyd + harry potter au?? c:

being that they were in different houses and their last names were at opposite ends of the alphabet, it seemed odd that kira yukimura and vernon boyd became friends. no one quite understood, but they were attached at the hip. from the time the nervous muggleborn boyd (he preferred not to go by vernon - it was an “old man name,” he felt) met the excited and bubbly half-born kira on the train they were inseparable - except for when they had to go back to their respective house dorms.

boyd was a ravenclaw and kira was a hufflepuff. most things in school came naturally to boyd. however, when it came to learning the patronus charm, he was an absolute disaster. he couldn’t hold onto a happy memory long enough to produce anything more than a sad, blue mist. kira, on the other hand, who was a pretty average student, managed the patronus on her first try. whenever she could, kira would conjure up the translucent fox and make it run in circles around boyd.

one day when the two friends were sitting outside on the hogwarts grounds, boyd finally asks, exasperated, “how do you do it?”

kira raised an eyebrow, “do what?”

"you know what i’m talking about. the patronus."

kira grins mischievously, “let me get this straight. you, vernon milton boyd iv -” he winces at the use of his full name, “-are asking me, kira yukimura, to help you with… school?”

boyd glares at her so intensely that kira worries she might catch fire, “alright, alright.” she raises her hands in mock surrender. “you want to know how i do it?” boyd nods vigorously. “easy. i just think about when i met you.”

boyd’s eyes go wide. kira smiles back at him, a light flush growing across her cheeks.

"me?" he asks, disbelieving.

"yep! what memory have you tried using?"

boyd is quiet and somber before he explains, “well i tried using this one memory of my sister. because i was always happiest when she was…” boyd doesn’t finish his sentence, but kira knows that boyd’s sister had gone missing when they were kids. she places a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"anyways," boyd continues, "i try to think of positive memories of her, but then it always turns out bad and i can’t make the charm stick."

"well, if you can’t block out the bad memories, then maybe you need to focus on something else entirely," kira offers.

"like what?" boyd asks.

it’s at this moment that kira leans in and kisses him right on the lips. the kiss is quick and light, but it leaves boyd completely starstruck and moony-eyed.

kira whispers, “maybe i can be your memory, too.”

…and it works.
