wow your comics are stunning! the vanco especially is so effortlessly beautiful and well structured. Do you have a tutorial on how you make comics? Your panel work and composition is especially great, would love to know more about the process

THANK YOUUU. I am not really good with tutorials, hah. My comic process is also very much "I want to do this NOW!" and then I do it. I don't do any script, I sketch full sized thumbnails and write the "kind like this" versions of the dialogue into the thumbnails (or I won't and after I'll be like hmm I wonder what I wanted to do here).

Here's the steps of my latest little comic:

These are my thumbnails. My main goal when I start a page is to do a simple 1. Establish where we are 2. Establish who are there

I am not good with establishing shots tbh. They kill me every time. With fancomics it's easier because I don't even have to show The Last Drop because of course these idiots would be there :D

After the rough idea I do the actual sketch that I will use to help me do lineart. Just very simple and usually the characters are just their most important features. Sometimes you can barely recognize them.

Here's the final one just for comparison.

With the bigger comic I posted yesterday, I just love making movement that carries through the panels. When I know I have to add lots of dialogue to explain things, I'll make the characters do something at the same time

I just wanted to make this casual/domestic moment of bitching about life while Vander is being caring and Silco accepts it.

With composition and panel work, idk, it usually comes down to what mood I want/what I want to show (expressions usually) OR. What I don't want to show :D When you want to be lazy, you will become creative! And nobody will know!

I am very fond of breaking the panels to kinda showcase change, I guess. I do it a lot. With like the effect of the next panel entering the previous one or with speech bubbles.

With this one I had to come up with ways to transition to all the scenes within the "memory" and it was pretty fun yet also made me anxious because I also had to keep the pace up.

I draw quick and I am pretty confident with my control over my lines, so I don't really have any tips for lineart. One thing I do wanna say is that you have to learn to let go. I want to fix so much from the headcanon comic I did. I won't. It's not bad, it's just not perfect. It wouldn't be perfect even if I would fix it.

okay so this all started when I read the original post this was inspired by and though 'wouldn't it be silly to add some art to this 3 year old post?' but then I decided to animate it for funsies!

and gosh I sure do love animating!

So I got the base sketch and then got into the lineart animation for each component!

i don't have the sketches/wips saved at all sense this wasn't really a project and it took less than a day to complete. but here's a peak at the timeline

I animate entirely in my ususal drawing software: clip studio paint. It's just what's easiest for me.

all of these layers outside that folder are just the sparkles! after I finished I added some sparkles for fun! there's a lot of them because it involved a lot of copy and pasting sparkle layers

the bottom folders here are the wings body and facial expression! for everything like the wings arms and flags I was able to just copy paste, reverse, and then align the timing correctly in the timeline

one thing unique about this animation is that the lineart and colors are in separate layers! I tend to do line and colors on the same layer but this time I was using a brush that doesn't have the same lack of anti-aliasing and sense it's a small animation I wasn't as worried about keeping a minimum of layers like usual.

also the movement of the body is only 4 frames! and one one of those is just the hat shifting position

initially I wasn't going to have the second facial expression but when I got stuck on animating the flags I added the second facial expression while taking a break.

the arm animation is just 8 frames! honestly the only tricky part in this is the flags, everything else was pretty simple, which made it super fun to work on because I got both a challenge and mindless therapeutic drawing out of it.

NOW THE FLAGS there was 3 throw away attempts before I got it: you see the thing that made this tricky is finding the balance between believability and visual appeal. a big part of animation is creating the illusion of physics, this is the 'believability' part, I need these to look like flags that are moving and made of flat fabric, HOWEVER if I animate these one-to-one with realistic physics: it won't look good! I can't apply wind to the whole drawing because then the hair would have to react, and wind goes one way, and I wan't the flags to be pointing opposite directions. so without wind the flags would be laying down flat, but that won't look good at all! and furthermore realistic physics would have the flag not being all nice and front facing most of the time. so the trick here was figuring out how much physics to apply to make it look believable, while still making it look good.

one trick I did to help me animate the flags is I actually made a plan rectangle flag as a guide so that the general mass/volume of the flag would stay consistent, this is something i highly recommend when animating! like having a circle guide along a characters head to keep their height and proportions consistent.

after I finally found the balance with the flag lineart coloring wasn't too hard! sense I just had to follow the lines, and THANK GOODNESS the trans and aroace flag have the same number of stripes: saving me time!

and then it all comes together to make a satisfying perfectly looping bundle of cuteness >:DDD I feel like the tau fandom doesn't have as many artists with particularly cartoony/chibi art styles so I've gotta play my part in spreading the joy-whimsy-adorable-sillys >:D

AITA for not changing my OC's sexuality?

i really like making OCs. sometimes i write a story with them or draw some comics about them, but most of them don't get anything more than my initial character introduction art. a while ago one of my mutuals asked if she could use one of my OCs as a D&D character. i'll call my mutual "liz" and my OC "stella". i agreed. over the next two months or so liz would occasionally commission a $5-10 sketch of something that happened during one of the D&D sessions featuring stella. drawing these was fun, and i enjoyed how liz was fleshing her out and developing her personality, and i began to appreciate stella more.

recently i drew an F/F pairing of stella with another one of my OCs in the middle of a passionate kiss. liz messaged me, saying that she plays stella as AroAce and romance repulsed like she is, and would never kiss someone like that. i thought liz was asking in a round-about way if she had to change D&D stella's sexuality, so i said she could do whatever she wanted with stella in her campaigns. well. i guess that's NOT what liz meant, because she sent me a wall of text saying that since i had abandoned stella and liz "adopted" her i should respect what she decided about the character since stella was equally her creation, so could i please either delete the post from my blog or add an update where it's revealed that stella was "just experimenting" and realized she was romance repulsed. honestly, i thought liz was just joking (because who the fuck says that) so i said "i'll see you in court for the custody battle". but liz doubled down and DEMANDED i make stella AroAce.

i was really annoyed at first but now i'm conflicted. on the one hand, stella clearly means a lot to liz (more than me tbh) and she's right about how much of her personality she created, though "equally her creation" is pretty generous. on the other, it's my fucking OC!! i should be able to draw art of my characters kissing if i want!! am i just being petty by refusing to canonize stella as AroAce? am i the asshole?

Hi! Tbh this is somewhat difficult to answer, and is specially because of their heads that is the biggest "anomaly" compared to the rest of their bodies. I'll be just listing the things I noticed trough all my time drawing them, so I hope this helps.

First of all, their mouths are similar to ours in terms of how they open and close, but the skin of their cheeks is attached to the tusks. This is pretty clear when you look at pictures but when I first started drawing them this was one of my biggest isues.

The tusks are like extra bones connected to the jaws, formed by two joints, base and fang mobility.

Here is a little example using said pictures. It might seem like the upper tusks have three joints but no, they are just kinda close to the inner mouth and the upper jaw sides sometimes can be mistaken by part of the tusk. While doing this I noticed I use to do that tiny error.

Their heads are a lot more easier than some might think. The position and size of the eyes are same as ours because remember many of the movie predators are actors with massive build heads.

It consist in two parts: a crest and the hard skin that covers the base of the tresses, sometimes being more spiked, bumpy, or smooth

This, however, is not always the rule and the appearance of it can change drastically. Just look at Wolf and the emissaries (Sorry for the quality lol) or even Feral and Berserker but these two have the excuse of being a subspecies.

Hands are similar to us too but more scaly. Sometimes they have a side claw just like their feets an the texture depends, bumpy, plated or just textured like the rest of the boddy. The finger pads are just their normal skin but subespecies like Feral look like if they had something similar to gecko pads.

I tend to do them plated, is more fun to me

Gender dimorphism depends a lot on what you want to do. Its said that females are sleeker and with tiny, sharper mandibles (Hunting grounds) and some others say they look exactly the same as males and bigger (Mig mama / Dachande mention, AvP: prey - Novel) . Just have fun I guess. However! As a species that does a lot of phisical activity, it leads to a lower overall body fat percentage, which includes less fat tissue in the breasts

This was super fun to do!! I love fan events so much 💖💖💞💖 though I should probably work on some cards for the canon events/outfits but Ghost Groom looked too fun to pass up on :D I had a lot of trouble with the pose for this one and the expression but the point is it's finished now lol and I think it's good to push myself even if the final thing isn't 100% what I wanted.

I FINALLY got around to playing Life is Strange True Colors the other day, knowing literally next to nothing about it. Played the whole game in one sitting, cried like..4 times, then got the Steph DLC, cried more because I relate to her WAAAAY too much. And said, yes, lesbians.

Life is strange is my favorite game franchise, and with the new game with Max coming out in October, I thought I should finally get caught up <3

I absolutely LOVED this game sm, I love it just as much as the first game tbh. It's sm fun to play when you had no idea what the story was really gonna be about.

I adore Steph and Alex together more than I can explain, and Steph just makes me giggle and kick my feet anytime she's one screen. So I thought, why not draw them?? So! happy Pride Month to my new favorite lesbians! >:D

This is a Daily-Vee blog, where I basically post daily Vee art posts (Art made by me !) as much as I can !

Before interacting, I would appreciate you reading this post first.

First of all, I DO NOT SUPPORT BLUSHCRUNCH STUDIO ! I am aware of the allegations and what the developers did. Yes, I know Rox has been fired, however Qwel from what I know has also done some bad things and defended Rox. If you wanna know what they did, I recommend reading this document about the situation.

I have heard from people saying she was lied to and manipulated by Rox however, unless there is proof about that- i don't quite believe what Qwel said. It felt more of an excuse to me instead and her behaviour to me is just very iffy and suspicious- im sorry, but I don't feel comfortable supporting Qwel

I don't support them, however I still enjoy the game and the characters, which is why I made this blog. I would appreciate it though to not make requests related to the situation ! I wanna keep this blog fun, silly and peaceful as well :D

I will be doing an order on how I post- on even days (2, 4, 6, 8...), i'll be drawing a request someone sent ! However on odd days (1, 3, 5, 7...), i'll be drawing my own ideas ! It's just to keep an order on how i post so i can do your guys' requests but also be able to draw my own ideas :D however, if there are no requests i can find on a even day, i'll just instead draw an idea my own

If someone ends up requesting an idea I already had planned to draw before, their request can be done on an odd day. The reason why is because it still was my idea, someone just ended up requesting the same idea i had so, it's best i take the chance to respond to their request as well :]

About the requests- you can send an ask requesting what you want me to draw with Vee, which, your request can be done for one of the days I post here ! here's a couple of rules though :

- The request HAS to be related to Vee. If your request isn't related to Vee, it will be ignored.

- Keep your requests respectful ! I will not accept any request that is hateful or discriminates against someone ! (By that, I mean that I wont do requests that have something like hating on gay and/or trans people, discriminating another race, etc...)

- No NSFW requests. I am not going to draw those kinds of things. The only kind of "NSFW" i'll draw is gore/blood- more specifically, the twisteds in the game. (Im not sure if it really counts as gore/blood? I'm just saying it just in case someone gets confused) Other than that, the rest NSFW things are a huge no-no for me

- Ship requests are allowed ! Well, mostly- I'll draw any kind of ships, whether it be romantic or platonic ! However, there MAY be a chance I can get uncomfortable with the ship you send. A small one though. If I do get uncomfortable, I'll likely not do your request. If you do a ship request, please specify whether it is platonic or romantic! Or else i'll just randomly pick !

Currently, the only ships I won't do/feature due to them making me uncomfortable are these :

I had fun with this one lol. I decided that I wanted to draw myself some Legendary Vessels AU instead of doing things for Art Fight. I would apologize for the text because my handwriting is bad and I can't draw things straight to save my life, but I do try not to be self-deprecating where I can about my art! So while I may have issues with it, I hope that you enjoy this sorta kinda comic-like thingy! At least I had fun. Also this one is fun to touch because of all of the texture that inking with ballpoint pens gave it! :D (I just didn't want to go through the effort of doing this one digitally tbh. :p )

I just think about my Legendary Vessels AU sometimes and man... I really REALLY want to make things with it, but damn is it harrrrrd! So have a weird little pseudocomic instead. :p

Also I'm leaving some alternate versions under the cut if you want to look at those. (And a camera shot of the texture.)

In order, all of the panels on one page as I originally drew it on paper, all of the pages without the color correcting work I did on all of them, and lastly an IRL camera shot of it in light to emphasize the pen and inking texture the piece has in its completed state which doesn't translate well after being scanned.

This was a silly little episode and I have indeed enjoyed it. Not as emotional as the last one but I had fun nevertheless. Though, it didn't feel like a "Mario's Trip" episode, compared to the other ones. Maybe that's just me idk.

The animation and references, peak. As for the plot itself, it felt very on-brand for SMG4. Strangely, the chaotic energy in this one was toned down which is new. Like I said, it was still fun, had plenty of laughs. There isn't much to say about this but yeah, good to have a silly goofy time overall!!!

and yes, I will gladly take that bell, 4 [*ding ding*] :)

There’s a lot of things in Dark Revival I ended up disappointed about, but despite my love of Sammy Lawrence, Sammy barely appearing was not really one of them. At the time, I’d commented to friends that the complete lack of Sammy mentions in the hype leading up to BatDR meant he was either very important or had only a cameo appearance, and I was actually pretty delighted about the Cyclebreaker cameo – it’s a moment that takes him startlingly seriously, that wasn’t just him quoting one of his four catch phrases; it’s... a kind of moment we haven’t seen from Sammy before. The part where he gets shot was like, where my expectations were, so the cyclebreaker thing was a pleasant surprise.

But like, ever since The Cage was announced… we knew Sammy kind of had to be in it. Like, Henry says “how did WE escape” and it’s set in the SPECIFIC place and time that Sammy also is; literally the only reason for Sammy to not be a significant character is if the creators actually didn’t want anything to do with him. So I have to admit the announcement that WE CAN CONFIRM that SAMMY WILL PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN THE CAGE!!!!!!! RESTORED TO HIS CHAPTER 2 CREEPY GLORY! is just…… ugh, it’s hard to articulate why this tweet frustrates me so much.

Like………………….. "he's in it more" is not the only thing people care about, surely! What is he doing? What is his role in all this? What does he even WANT? In a review, "he's back to his chapter 2 creepy glory" would be a powerful recommendation; in a tweet from the creator right after preorders go up, it feels more like, "Hey, remember the thing you wanted? we DEFINITELY did that thing you wanted and we did it SUPER WELL so preorder our game please!!" Give us an intriguing line of dialogue or a hint about what he's doing (opposing you? helping you? uneasy truce? trying to find bendy?) and you wouldn't even need to promise us that he plays a major role; we'd be curious to learn more.

So this reassurance ends up doing the opposite, for me, because I still don't know if the creators even understand what I like about Sammy. The thing is that the circumstances of BatDR (there's a little Bendy running around, the Ink Demon is claimed dead but actually it's not, Wilson is trying to become the Lost Ones' new Big Brother) could've been INCREDIBLY relevant to Sammy -- that's why people wanted him to show up in BatDR, to see what he thinks of these developments and how he would react to them!! So if you're interested in Sammy, the character, then it would not be hard to hint at like, what his deal is – "Sammy knows the Ink Demon is out there somewhere and Henry is the key to finding him" or "after the disappearance of his Lord he's become a desperate man who's as much an obstacle as an ally" or even "Sammy was defiant when he went into the Pit -- what will Henry find when he encounters him now?" or w/e -- simply insisting HES LIKE HE WAS IN CHAPTER TWO, THE ONE YOU GUYS LIKE instead of being able to think of a single character-based hint that we might find compelling is, tbh, rather un-reassuring!!!

My complaint about Twisted Alice’s role in BatDR was that ultimately, it felt like they were just trying to capture the vibes that Twisted Alice had in BatIM instead of really exploring what that character would be doing HERE, in THIS situation. Nothing she’s doing really makes sense, and what IS there seems to have forgotten what her actual deal is, but she’s doing it with the right flair, so it feels like she’s in-character enough for the scene to be fun. Like an episodic cartoon that just forgets what happened in previous episodes depending on who’s writing this one. So… I think that’s a real risk for Sammy. For the people who just want him to show up and whisper cult-ish things so we can hear his voice more and go HEHEHE ITS HIM, this isn’t really a concern lmao, that will probably happen. I don’t have high hopes that he’ll make sense as a character, but tbf I don’t know that he ever has.

And IDK, its still early, its possible the cage will come out and I'll look up spoilers and be like OMG NM I LOVE WHAT THEY DID WITH HIM. A game that's supposed to be psychological horror could, in theory, be a really fun place for Sammy!! Maybe the people actually writing him will give him more care, haha. It's a little silly for me to be so worked up about the marketing for a game that I am not going to buy b/c I’m still not interested in giving JDS, Inc. my money. AND YET DESPITE IT ALL I STILL… CARE ABOUT SAMMY LAWRENCE LMAO….. I think my main emotion about The Cage is just curiosity, though. I do want to know what they do with him. I’m curious if he’ll play a major part in the story, or if he’s like Henry or Porter in BatDR, with one big scene where he gets a bunch of lines and then runs off. A lot of people really want to see Henry and Sammy team up in this, but I’m not writing off the possibility he’s an antagonist of some kind, so I’m curious which way that’ll go. But I don’t feel like I have any strong expectations, so I guess we’ll see!

one specific idea i've been considering making a fic out of is smth about the "good" timeline starting to fall apart after the invasion-- something something that timeline wasn't supposed to exist, future mikey basically "cheated" by sending Junior back to change the past, timeline is now trying to correct itself, bigger and bigger disasters are occurring on a daily basis to accomplish this, present mikey has to figure out how stop that, ahchehfhehr listen its more of a very vague feeling than an actual plot but im having fun daydreaming about it thats all that matters

Recently saw a YT short that gave me a new idea… it’s a different kind of “self aware” ask. What if the boys in game aren’t self aware… but your drawings of them are? I’ll link the short, don’t worry. But this creator drew their characters and did an animation of them actually being alive and interacting with them and even the other drawings. Thought it was a cool idea to share with the self aware boys being actual drawings that were drawn by reader lol! Actually… that would make reader their actual creator… the ideas are turning in my head with this one~

Another addition to my portraits of Alfred.

Um... I don't really know. This time for real. Something hit me on the head, and I got the idea to create whatever this pink abomination is.

I have a habit of making things that make my eyes sore, though.

Confession: I love Alfred's Cold War era uniform (well, it's actually a variation of the WWII uniform). I depicted him wearing an Airborne one 'cause of the eagle patch on official artwork—the trademark of division. I've seen the other creators playing a guessing game with uniforms, so there really isn't a "canon" tradition to follow.

And also it's cunty-- I mean, the Ike jacket, the boots, the silly cap. Giving fierce.

Personally, I always try to make clothing historically accurate. Then I should explain a few details. The long shoulder thingies—fourragères, left one—Belgian (it correlates with the red ropes that most artists drew on Alfred's uniform. It's the closest I could find that would be time-appropriate, and I saw that it could also have arm loops. More strings. So, a tricky fact: it should be worn on the left, but I read that it could be worn and was usually worn by soldiers on the right if there is a French Croix de Guerre 39/45 on the left, which is... the same-looking fourragère as Belgian. No braided strings staking!), the right one—Dutch lanyard (it's orange, close call to red! But, one big but, don't take my words seriously, 'cause I read too many different opinions on some 2007 forum discussion that I became confused with placement. I don't really know what is actually right, please don't come for me, I tried my best and it's only a drawing) and the French one, I've mentioned earlier.

Other accessories: on the left pocket—the presidential unit citation award; on the right, above the ribbon bar set (um, I won't specify what ribbons I could've depicted, as this post will become twice as long)—jump wings; and also the M1916 holster (colt is included!) on the leg. Did you know that little strap was used to secure the holster on the thigh? I didn't before diving into the hunt for references. The strap also could be tied in some peculiar knots, but Alfred is a messy bitch/j, and it means messy wrapping on the muzzle.

The autism in me powers the fuel of a research engine for a Hetalia fanart. Yikes.

One thing that I didn't want to change was the neck scarf. Sadly, there isn't one for real uniform, but I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it. It's just too iconic, even for my historical accuracy quirk. And the hat should be larger, however, I wasn't bothered about the right size. It's a mini-cap.

Okay, I need to address the elephant in the room. Yes, mouths. Different emotions (or I tried to make them different). Am I insane for this? Absolutely. They're reminding me of the first colour TV or ibm computers with Warhol's style.

The second ver is just text, which I thought suited him (tbh, Alfred would make great friends with Maxine, iykyk). I had great fun with distortion filters.

Last thing, the expression is supposed to be somewhat confused laughing like someone accused of something very controversial ("me kissing men??? oh nonono, haha... ',:D") and Alfred just laughs it off, like he usually does. At the same time, looking down on us, the viewer. Though you can freely interpret the expression however you want, it's up to you! (⁠~⁠￣▽￣⁠)⁠~
