Dead Boy Detectives Victor AU: (Let's Just Call This the War Crimes AU, alright?)

here it is: a follow-up to the "Crystal Never Found the Recording AU." this one is less brutal than the first chapter, though still does not pull its punches. we're dealing with the fallout/ImplicationsTM of Monty and Edwin getting trapped in the wedding night deal, as well as Maren entering the picture (my GIRL) and how this is affecting Charles and Crystal as well. Also, Esther Finch is back. Or, rather, she never left.

(Basically, be prepared for this one to be like 80% me taking gunshots at your heart and 20% tenderness.)

Also, we're advancing the Richard Siken agenda here in the Victor AU.

“The Capitolites never would have wanted a District tradition at the wedding,” Edwin says, “So there was cake instead.”

“Sounds pretty brills, actually,” Charles says, doing his best to smile, to lighten things, to keep everything together after it's all been ripped apart, "Bread instead of cake."

“As if you would have been comfortable sharing bread with me anyway,” Monty says, looking down at the bowl of soup, and it’s not said maliciously, not snapped, but Edwin flinches anyway.

Charles doesn’t know how to unravel everything that’s happened. Everything that he has had to piece together from what Monty and Edwin said last night. Everything that had to have happened in that wedding bed that was more prison than celebration.

Charles has to do something, anything, to relieve this godawful tension. This cloud, this dread, this tragedy, this violation, this thing that should have been kind, should have been holy, but is slowly warping in on itself.

Charles can't stop the rocks from falling. He can't push the boulder back up the mountain.

But he can damn well try to shift the rocks about. Pull them off of Monty and Edwin. Build them into something instead of letting them fall further.

My latest additions to the art studio book nook. I gave the easel/table a paint job and a new stool courtesy of a wine cork I found in the kitchen, made some drying racks for the tiny canvases, a drafting table made from coffee stirrers and some balsa wood, and a balsa wood cabinet with some drawers (paint was still drying) to serve as a workbench.

The canvases are made of coffee stir sticks with math stick for cross bars on the bigger ones. Then I glued the frame to some tight woven muslin I have like 8 years of and mod podged tiny Monet pictures to the fronts. Paint around the edges for a lil extra realism.

My next miniature is gonna be a mini kitchen also in 1:24 scale and I spent all evening evils tiny fridge from polymer clay only to realize the white I used on the inside was actually glow in the dark.

The only part of my mini book nook that has yet to arrive is the nook part. It’s out for delivery and I can barely focus because I need to see if the stuff i made fits inside so bad.

I’m gonna start a tag for my diorama/book nook escapades. I’m very shy about sharing my oil paintings but I need everyone to see my tiny oil pastels made of cut spaghetti.
