Gwen wasn’t expecting to show the band her song today. Or ever, really. She didn’t want them to know that she stayed up all night working with an old guitar and a tired old drum set, trying to piece things together because she couldn’t go to sleep without finishing the song. She didn’t want anyone to find out her feelings towards this boy made her sleepless at nights, and creative outlet only taking away some of the obsession, but leaving her with the bittersweet feeling in her chest. or the one where Gwen can't stop writing about Miles Morales, and every interaction they have. Obviously, it has to bite her in the ass.

Just a thought but I feel like Spiderverse fans are projecting their hatred for Gwen onto Miles cuz in post-ATSV fics there's no way he would use that kind of language with her. There's a difference between "he would say this" and "I want him to say this". Sure argument will happen but the kind of stuff y'all write is against everything his character stands for.

He's giving "nice" guy after being rejected instead of a good guy who's angry and hurt.

This fic is the reason why I ship them so hard, so I think it's only fitting that I commission fanart inspired by this fic as a thank you. Hopefully, I can do some more commissions based on this fic because there are scenes that I really think is worth seeing illustrated. So fingers crossed. As someone who works in the print & marketing at Staples, a fic I really want to write someday is a no powers au where Gwen works a print shop and Miles is either someone they highered to do design work or outsourced his printing at Gwen’s print shop. Like it’s kind of like a coffee shop au but cuter.

Maybe Gwen’s band is still in its early stages and she work at this place just so she can cover her bills. As Miles slowly becomes more familiar with Gwen and her band, he offers to help improve their logo and make their band stand out more. Sometimes Gwen work with Miles well after close making sure someone print order comes out just right. There are so many cute scenarios to be had!!!

I just can’t get this idea out of my head. Maybe I’ll write a couple one shots of this alt-universe after I finish my big fic

I have this vague idea in my head of like. Post the end of btsv - let's say there's a happy ending and everything's fine - Miles and Gwen get together. Bc I like them and I think that's gonna happen anyway.

However, you see, I am a multishipper. And I like polyam ships. And I like Miles and Hobie as well.

So let's say Gwen and Miles are together and very much love each other, their relationship is good probably not without bumps but not strained or anything. But Miles also, unbeknownst to himself, develops a crush on Hobie. But he also doesn't even realize he likes dudes. So he's just super oblivious to it. So let's say the first person to notice his crush is actually Gwen.

Bc my brain is providing me with a vague ass fic idea of Gwen trying to gently push Miles to realize he likes Hobie, while also still y'know wanting to date him herself.

Bc how funny would it be for her to say at some point "hey if you liked someone else and wanted to be with them I'm willing to try you dating them and me bc that's a thing" and him being very confused bc "where did that come from??? like ok cool great I'll remember that but huh???"

Especially if she eventually just starts trying to get them together. I feel like the idea of a girl trying to set her boyfriend up with one of their mutual good (if not best) friends is a funny concept, and with them would be super funny.
