relationship: loki x fem!reader
genre: smut
summary: loki cant help but overhear your conversation with natasha
warnings: smut (18+) unprotected piv, fingering, thigh riding, squirting, soft dom loki??, multiple orgasms, loki being nosy
“I dunno, Nat… I love him to death, I really do… it’s just…” You say as you run your fingers through your hair. You didn’t like the idea of talking ‘bad’ about Loki behind his back, but this is the only way to get the emotions and thoughts off your chest.
“What is it? Stop beating around the bush! C’mon, I’m good at keeping secrets” Natasha replied, sipping on her beer.
“It’s kind of TMI but—”
“Oh please, TMI is nothing in this friendship and you know it, just spit it out!”
“Well… when Loki and I get… y’know… everything starts out great, but he just gets all soft and vanilla-y and I just wanna—” You start to explain, but stop when what you really want to say gets caught in the back of your throat.
What you and Natasha didn’t know is that Loki had walked out of the bedroom. His ears perked when he heard you say his name, so he walked towards Natasha’s room and listened in.
“Go on…” Natasha said
“Well… when we get frisky… he gets all soft and shit… like all mushy and gushy. Don’t get me wrong, I love it when he’s sweet to me… but I really just wanna be fucked. Not ‘made love to’ but ‘fucked so hard I can’t walk’ y’know?” I explain, a feeling of guilt washing over me as I finally say it.
“Have you tried bringing it up to him?”
“No… I want to, but I just don’t know how or when”
Loki frowned. Was he really boring you that much? You seemed pretty into it when the two of you were in action.
“I mean, when Bruce and I first started out, he was all mushy and stuff, all up until I sat him down in his bedroom and just told him how I felt. Ever since he’s pretty much been Hulk smashing me,” Natasha explained. I roll my eyes at her ‘Hulk smash’ comment
“What if I hurt his feelings?”
“He literally terrorized the city of New York and Stüggart, killed 80 people in 2 days, almost killed the entirety of the Frost Giant race, and faked his death 2 times. I don’t think he’ll be offended. Honestly, he might be more offended if you don’t tell him,” Natasha explained.
“But—”
“No buts, you’re literally the love of his life, and he would probably do anything to make you happy. Just trust me, babe, Loki isn’t going to be offended or mad, just communicate,” Natasha cut you off
Loki agreed silently. Natasha was right. He wasn’t offended or upset. He would climb the highest mountains and cut through every forest just go make you happy, if you asked. He decided to gather a plan, and he walked back into his room.
“You’re right. Thank you, Nat,” I smile and start to stand up, grabbing my beer bottle, and taking another drink of it, “I’m gonna go talk to him about it,” you smile, trying to ignore the anxiety bubbling within your stomach.
“I would say tell me how it goes, but I’m sure I’ll be able to tell if you have a limp tomorrow or not,” Nat snorted, you flipped her off playfully and started to walk out of the room.
When you entered the hallway, you heard your phone buzz. You took it out of your pocket and saw a text from Loki.
Loki: come visit me if you can, my little dove
You smile at his text. The nickname “little dove” always made your heart flutter. You pocket your phone and walk towards Loki’s room. You don’t even bother knocking, considering he was expecting you.
What you weren’t expecting was Loki to practically jump you the second you walked in.
He closed the door and pressed you firmly against it, kissing you hungrily as he groped your breasts without care. It took you by surprise, but you quickly melted into the kiss, kissing him back just as roughly.
Your guys’ tongue and teeth clashed together as he guided you to his bed, pushing you down onto it, before removing his shirt, and hastily removing your sweatpants and tossing them to the side. Before he flipped you over, setting you on his thigh
“Ride me.” He commanded, leaving no room for discussion. You blush and move your hand to the string of his sweatpants, “Not there,” he said simply.
You blush before experimentally rubbing your panty-clad cunt against his thigh. You let out a shaky moan at the new feeling. Loki growled before he started bouncing his leg. You let out a surprised, but aroused shriek, stopping the movement of your hips.
You let out another shriek when you felt his hand come down harshly on your ass.
“Did I say you could stop?” He asked in a serious tone. You shake your head no, “then keep going,” He said simply, before he started to bounce his leg again.
You continue to grind down on him as he bounce his leg. The feeling of cotton against your clit had you almost screaming as you continued to buck down against his thigh.
“Loki, I—” You started, before you cut yourself off with another moan.
“Soak me,” He said, grabbing your hips and pushing you down harder against his thigh.
Your whole body quivered as your eyes rolled to the back of your head. Your ears started to ring as you soaked his thigh completely, your juices squirting all over him.
He gave you no time to recover before he flipped you over and ripped your panties off and shoving two fingers inside of you, going at a rapid pace.
“Oh gods, Loki!” You screamed out, arching your back off the bed as his fingers drilled into you.
“You wanted to be fucked, hm? Oh I’ll make sure you can’t walk tomorrow…” He said huskily, before going down and attaching his lips to your clit, sucking it harshly.
His words did not process in your mind, instead you screamed out his name and tangled your fingers into his hair.
He curled his fingers at just the right spot and you came again, soaking his face, fingers, and the bedsheets below you as your arousal sprayed out of you once again.
Loki stood up and took off his sweatpants and boxer before flipping you over so your ass is in the air. Without warning he plunged into you, fucking you at a breakneck pace.
“Is this what you wanted, hm? You wanted to be fucked? Treated like a toy?” Loki growled, before slapping your ass harshly as he continued to drill into your abused hole.
“Yes! Fuck, Loki!” You screamed out, grinding back into his hips, meeting each of his thrusts. The words he said remained incoherent, as, lack for better words, he fucked your brains out.
He grabbed a handful of your hair and tugged it back, using it as leverage to fuck you even deeper. You gripped onto the bedsheets for dear life as he pummeled you with his cock.
He grunted as he felt his orgasm approaching, he reached forward, circling your clit at a rapid pace, causing you to scream out his name.
Your orgasm was approaching quickly as he fucked you swiftly. You tried to warn him, but were caught off by your orgasm as if ripped through your body.
You screamed out in sheer pleasure as you came on his cock. Your orgasm triggered his and he thrusted as deep as he could, spilling his seed deep inside of your quim.
He laid down next to you and looked at you with pure love in his eyes. You adjusted and laid down as well, looking at him.
“I actually wanted to talk—” You started, before being cut off by Loki
“You wanted to be fucked, not made love to… I overheard you and the Black Widow talking,” Loki said with a smile, “I hope I was able to fulfill your dreams,”
“Mmm… maybe another round or so could really fulfill my dreams” You smirked before crawling on top of Loki, starting yet another round
~ The Next Morning ~
You woke up in Loki’s bed, with Loki still sleeping peacefully next to you. You smile and decide to get up and head out to the kitchen for coffee.
You walked down the hallway into the Avengers common area where Natasha sat, drinking her own coffee. Natasha laughed at your limp as you hobbled over to the kitchen
“Oh shut the fuck up”

The only issue is he wants to take it off, and you want to help him in those efforts. Word Count: 4.5k
Blog Information | Masterlist
Zayne
Toy Panda
You stared at the door, waiting patiently. Your panda overalls felt huge and a little warm; you played with the sleeves as you waited patiently for your favorite doctor. You were relaxed on his couch, your arms going over the edge as you stared. Any minute now and you could get to see the fruits of your labor finally paying off.
Your silent wishes were answered as you heard the click of the door opening, Zayne slowly coming out of his bedroom. A large panda outfit hung off him, the overalls being ridiculously big even on his hulking form. He didn’t bother with the hood as he adjusted his glasses. You could see the start of a blush on his cheeks as he was looking anywhere but at you.
“Oh my god you’re adorable for once!” You said, jumping off the couch to go run over to him. He really did look like a giant panda plushie and you wanted to just curl your arms around him and never let go. Zayne, however, seemed less amused by the situation as he looked over at you finally, seeing your eyes lighting up at his gaze.
The man let out a long, exasperated sigh, “Well, does this satisfy the conditions to your win?” He said, opening his arms a bit so you could see. When he looked at you this time he seemed almost amused with how giddy you were. You knew the man was a pushover when it came to concerns about you, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Oh no, you lost fair and square at kitty cards the other day. You’re gonna be stuck like this for a bit, Doctor Panda.” You joked, your hand going over to his fluffy overalls as you played with the soft fabric.
“If I’m not mistaken you were the one who wanted to trade cards about three times during our round, which led to your victory.” He said and you huffed, crossing your arms.
“It’s not my fault you let me.” You had simply used an advantage you called ‘Zayne loves you way too much and will let you cheat at cards, even if it's against him’. It was a viable strategy when playing kitty cards.
“If this is supposed to be a punishment, then why are you wearing the outfit as well?” He asked, noticing how soft you looked at the moment. You pulled the hood up, tilting your head back and forth in a little shimmy shake.
“It’s cute and comfy, obviously. Besides, we never get to match!” You exclaimed as though you were stating the most obvious thing in the world. He looked somewhat amused at your declaration, his hand reaching out to pat the top of your head.
“You do look rather cute like this.” He said, leaning down to be eye level with you. You chuckle, hands going to cup his cheeks and give them a small pinch in response.
“We both look cute like this, mister.” You said, pressing a kiss on his nose, “Absolutely adorable. The cutest.” You claimed, pressing a kiss to his forehead this time, “I wouldn’t mind if you wore this every day, my dear panda.”
Your hands slipped from his cheeks as he began standing up straight, “Well as fun as this is, I think I’d rather get changed now.” Oh no he didn’t.
Your hands found themselves in the thick plush of the overalls, tugging at him so he couldn’t get too far away, “You can’t change yet, you haven’t been in it long enough. Just showing up wearing it isn’t enough.” You whined out, giving the clothes another tug to show your displeasure.
Zayne looked down, his hands cupping your own, his body looming over you as he leaned forward, “You never stated the duration that I’d be in these.” He pointed out. Your lip jutted out in a mock pout as you tightened your grip on him.
“You need to wear them until I’m satisfied.” You declared.
“And when will that be? In an hour? Or perhaps in the morning?” His voice was coming out almost mocking. He had a point though, if he agreed to that then he might be in these well into the afternoon of tomorrow. It was something he would never agree to since he was a logical man at the end of the day.
“Okay fine…then how about a kiss? If you can satisfy me with a kiss then you can get changed.” You finally settled on, knowing those terms were more than acceptable.
“Just a kiss?” He seemed skeptical.
“A good kiss that leaves me in a puddle by the end.” You clarified, knowing he might tease you and give you a soft peck, then call it a day. He let out a small sigh, but the faint upturn of his lips gave away his emotions.
Zayne placed a hand on your chin, tilting your head up while the other hand was planted firmly on your hip. He leaned in, his lips pressing against your own. Your eyes fluttered closed as you relaxed into him, your arms wrapping around his shoulders.
He leaned down a bit to help you out, dragging you closer until your body was flush against his own. You felt his teeth nip gently at your lip and you happily sighed into the kiss, opening up enough for him to explore your mouth. He tasted like the mint ice cream you two had grabbed before heading back to his apartment earlier.
You let out a small moan as the hand on your hip gently rubbed at you; a shiver ran down the length of your spine. He finally parted from your lips, a small string of saliva that connected you two snapping. You looked up at him with your eyes half lidded, biting your lower lip. You always wanted more when it came to this man. Just one kiss, no matter how good it was, had never been enough.
“Are you satisfied now?” He whispered, his nose bumping against your own. You looked up at him through your eyelashes, then your eyes darted away.
“We might need to try again, just so I can be sure…” You murmured, looking back up at him. His eyes were already darkening from lust and you knew just a bit more would lead you to his room.
“Now, now, aren’t you being a bit greedy?” Zayne asked, raising his eyebrow in question. It was obvious to anyone with eyes that he clearly thought you were cute with the small pout on your lips. The glint in his eye was unmistakable, or at least it was to you at this point in your relationship.
Still, despite his teasing, he leaned his head back in and captured your lips once more. The hand on your chin slowly moved down to hold the other side of your waist as your body melded into his. Even through the thick fabrics you could still feel the slight warmth radiating off his body.
This kiss had been sweeter as Zayne took his time to savor the taste of your lips on his. It was serene how he made you feel so safe in his arms. The hands that were around his shoulders went to play with the soft, black hair. Zayne hummed into the kiss, appreciating the small gesture as your hands combed through them leisurely.
After a few moments, he finally parted from you again, although this time he placed a sweet kiss on your forehead, then to your cheeks, and finally on your nose. A giggle bubbled in your chest, escaping in an airy laugh. You looked up at him, a dopey grin spreading on your face.
“Now that you seem satisfied, I think I’ll go change into something more comfortable.” He said, making you remember exactly what you had been doing previously.
“Changing without me? You’re not gonna let me help?” You playfully jeered, your hands slowly coming down until they rested on Zayne’s broad chest. His own hands once again went to cup yours, bringing them both to his mouth as he gently kissed your knuckles.
“I think I’m fully capable of taking off my own clothes.” He said finally, your face falling for a moment at his statement. Despite your need for the man, you wouldn’t press him into anything. You gave a small smile and nodded.
“Alright, if you insist that you don’t need my help, I guess I can let you strip by yourself.” You said with a shrug and he let out a long breath, staring at you for a moment as though trying to decide what he wanted to do.
He seemed to finally settle on something when he spoke, “Although it would be a shame if we were no longer matching, now wouldn’t it?”
“We would still be matching if we were both naked.” You didn’t miss a beat.
He nodded his head as though that actually made sense. He always had that ability to play along with you as though you were spitting facts, despite the nonsense you often spewed. It made you feel…important.
You let out a small squeak of surprise as he cupped your ass, lifting you up. Your legs went to lock around his waist as he began carrying you to his bedroom, “I wouldn’t mind matching you in such a way, as long as you find it agreeable.” He finally settled on as he opened the bedroom door.
“Zayne, if I ever say no to that kind of question, just assume someone kidnapped me and replaced me with a doppelganger.” You said in an overly serious tone. Zayne exhaled through his nose in an attempt at laughing, because lord forbid he ever have a proper belly laugh once in a while.
Still you didn’t fight the fit of giggles, your stomach feeling like a million butterflies were fluttering around with your love for the man. You cupped his cheeks once more, placing feather light kisses all over his face as he carried you over to the bed. You felt more than you saw when he smiled, your lips kissing the corners of his mouth until you pecked them.
The comfortable mattress sank as he set you down gently, the bed creaked slightly under your weight. You decided to be nice and let go of his face, though you wished you wore lipstick as his face would’ve been absolutely littered in marks. Something to save for another day.
“Looking at you like this, I might mistake you for a plushie.” He said, noticing how your hood was still up. You were kicking your feet, smiling at him with a happy glint in your eyes that always seemed to put Zayne in a good mood.
“If I’m a plushie then will you promise to hold me tight and never let go?” You settled on, your tone was anything but seductive. A small blush was blooming on your cheeks with the way he looked down at you.
“I never had any intentions of letting you go in the first place.” His words seemed so final that your breath got caught in your throat.
Zayne began working off his clothes, easily shucking off the overalls and ripping the hoodie off in one quick motion. Normally he was more careful with how he treated clothes when taking them off, but you noted how he seemingly didn’t care about this particular outfit. Strange.
Once Zayne was left in nothing but his underwear; your tongue poking out as you licked your lips, “Damn panda daddy, I forgot how much you were hiding under all that fur.”
Zayne paused, looking over at you and you could see the disappointment in his eyes. It only fueled your amusement, snickering at the expression he made at you. He was always exasperated from your antics, but seeing the hope leaving him never ceased to make you giddy. It was just too beautiful to see the Doctor Zayne get caught off guard.
He didn’t even say anything in response, only changing where he looked when you made grabby hands, “You need to help your plushie.” You cooed happily.
Zayne walked over to you, unclipping the overalls and they fell around your hips. You were beaming the entire time as he made you raise your hips so he could fully pull it off you. You were left in the panda hoodie and your underwear when he placed both hands on either side of your thighs.
“You realize you are not some toy, correct?” He asked, finally lightening up with a smile of his own. You felt the need to crush it once more.
“I mean…I wouldn’t mind if I were your little fuck toy, Doctor Zayne.” You purred.
You watched Zayne’s eyes widen for a moment before he looked away. He took a moment to recover before looking back at you. “A study I read claims that shame can play an important role in social interactions, perhaps one day you should try it.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t have let me become so comfortable in your presence then. It’s your fault I have no issue voicing my desires anymore.” You joked, although it did hold truth. Zayne had been very persistent in making sure you were clear with what you wanted from him so he wouldn’t have to second guess everything. You felt like you could tell him literally anything in your head at this point.
Zayne watched as you began lifting up the hoodie, ready to take it off and toss it to the growing pile of clothes on the floor, when his hands stopped you. He leaned down, whispering right in your ear, “Come now, a toy shouldn’t try to do things by themselves.”
You felt a small gasp escape your lips, your cheeks turning scarlet at his words. You had only been half joking about the fuck toy situation, but if he wanted to use your body for his own pleasure, you’d never stop him. You could feel your already wet underwear getting soaked as you squeezed your thighs together. A shiver went down your spine as you went to lay your hand on his chest.
He moved closer to press a kiss to your face before backing up just enough to hook his fingers under the elastic band of your panties. He began pulling them off, satisfied with the string of arousal that was very hard to miss. He threw them over to the pile then took a finger to run through your soaked folds.
Your breath hitched as his thick finger entered your cunt, pressing into your soft heat. You went to roll your hips into his touch, but he was quick to push your upper body down onto the bed. His large hands pushed your hoodie up just enough to expose the underside of your breasts. His eyes glazed over them for a moment before he put his free hand over your stomach, holding you down so you wouldn’t move.
“A good toy doesn’t try to squirm.” Zayne pointed out, making you huff as you tried holding still. Your hands went above your head as you grasped at the fluffy blankets underneath you, trying to do your best to obey him for the time being.
As a reward, he entered another finger into you as he began scissoring the digits to help open you up for the main event later. The lewd squelching sound of your pussy made you flush, your thighs twitching as your instinct was to close them. Still, with the slight curl of his finger hitting your sweet spot had you almost rolling your eyes back in ecstasy.
“Fuck, Zayne, can I move?” You asked, wanting to ride his fingers. He was so good at riling you up, getting you close to coming on his fingers alone.
“You’re the one who said you wanted to be a toy, did you not?” He asked and you whimpered in response, “Good toys just lay there.” Oh he was going to be the death of you. It hadn’t even been ten minutes and you almost regretted putting the offer on the table.
“I’m a new interactive toy.” You finally settled on, hoping he would play along with you.
“And when did toy companies begin producing such bratty models?” His fingers were now pistoning faster in your tight heat, making sure every thrust hit your sweet spot head on.
“Around the time they realized their user base had b-brat tamers.” You managed to say between a strangled moan.
You cried out as his thumb pressed harshly over your clit, “Then perhaps I just need to train this toy so they’re more well behaved.” his thumb rolled in circles over your clit and you were now biting your lip. A familiar warmth settled in your stomach, threatening to spill out at a moment’s notice.
“G-good luck.” You chuckled, trying to roll your hips but his hand made it impossible. It was clear that you were going to cum on his terms.
You were so close to becoming a whimpering mess, begging him when he pressed down on your clit again. That was enough for you to topple over the edge, your walls clenching tightly around his fingers. Your pulse was thrumming, the blood rushing all over your body and you could hear a faint ringing as Zayne worked you through your climax.
His motions got softer as you came back down to earth, staring over at his face with a fucked out gaze. He wore that smirk that never ceased to make you go crazy.
“What a good toy.” Zayne commented almost like an afterthought. You watched him bring his fingers to his lips, sucking off your release. You groaned, wanting him to properly fuck you already.
“Will you fuck me now?” You whispered, your voice soft from how relaxed and pliant your entire body felt right now.
“Since my little panda was so obedient, I guess I can give them a reward.” Zayne said as he leaned over and pressed a kiss to you. Your hands immediately found their way to his hair, wanting to tug him closer as his tongue laced with your own. The taste of your own climax was still fresh on him and you couldn’t help the low whine coming from your throat.
His lips left yours, but he was still close enough so when he spoke they grazed against you, “Do you promise to behave?”
“Yes, sir.” You said with a soft cry, wanting to feel his cock splitting you open already.
You watched him stand up, taking off his underwear. His erection stood proudly against his abs, the tip leaking pre and dripping down the shaft. You licked your lips in response, your mind already supplying you with several fantasies of what you want to do with his length
Zayne came over, lifting you up enough for him to slide a pillow under your hips to help you get comfortable. “Are you ready, my little panda?” He teased. You smiled bashfully, nodding your head as he opened up your legs, your glistening folds inviting the man to take whatever he wanted from you.
His cock slowly began sinking into your heat, careful not to go too fast or else he risked hurting you. Still, you were impatient and had to hold back your complaints as he continued driving his dick deeper into your pussy.
After a few short thrusts, his cock was almost completely in you. You felt the stinging stretch of his monstrous length as it filled you up to the point of almost breaking. You took a few sharp breaths, relaxing around his girth. You went to roll your hips once you had grown accustomed to him, but his hand pressed down on your stomach again to stop you.
“I thought you said you’d behave?” He said and you whined in response, glancing up at him. He had a concentrated look on his face, trying not to cum just from entering you. He always tried to coax an orgasm out of you, but sometimes the way you sucked him in made him want to burst in an instant.
“I will…” You finally say and he nodded, giving an experimental roll of his hips. You let out a breathy gasp, enjoying how his girth managed to hit every single spot in you without trying. It was like he was made for you.
He chuckled, repeating the motion before speaking, “I don’t think I’ve ever heard a panda make a noise like this.”
You weren’t thinking when you spoke, already cock drunk. “You’re fucking other pandas?” It wasn’t until the words left you that you had to take a second and think over your inner dialogue options.
Zayne didn’t move and you chanced to look at him, seeing him shaking his head. “It’s not too late for me to pull out and go to bed, is it?” He murmured and you let out a cry at his words.
You locked your ankles around his back, hooking him into place inside of you. Your hands trailing over his biceps as you gave them a small squeeze, “Noooooo, don’t leave me like this. I’m sorry, I said it without thinking.”
Zayne let out a heavy, almost burdened sigh, “I don’t know if that makes it better or worse.” Despite his words, he did grind back into you, making you mewl in delight. The small giggle that was stuck in your throat turned into pants as he began rocking his hips to a steady tempo.
“Zayne…” You managed to rasp out. He hummed, letting you know he could hear you, “You’re holding back still.” You knew he wasn’t fully inside of you judging by how his hips never met your own.
“I simply don’t want to break my new toy, is that so wrong?” He grunted, never letting up the gentle pace he had set.
“It’s fine if you break me; you’re a doctor after all. You can put me back together.” You said.
“Doesn’t this little panda work tomorrow?” He said, hips stopping as he looked down at you, wanting you to confirm his suspicions.
“I’ll be fine…please?” You begged him, pouting as you looked at your loving boyfriend. He pondered for a moment if he’d regret his decision, then shook his head.
“If that’s what you wish.” He finally said. You were about to celebrate when a surprised squeal came out of your mouth. He had taken your legs that were locked behind him, pressing them so they laid against your chest. He had you in the perfect mating press as he looked down at you with hungry eyes.
His hips rutted into your tight hole, getting deeper with every rock until you could feel the head pressing against your cervix. You opened your mouth in a garbled whine, closing your eyes as you took in the feeling. You were already so damn close just from his dick being fully settled inside of you.
Then he set a brutal pace, jackhammering his cock into your cunt like a man running out of time. The noises escaping you couldn’t be distinguished, his name a slur on your lips as stars began entering your vision. It was just too damn good, your entire body spasming with twitches as he brought you closer and closer to the edge.
You squeezed his arms, your nails digging into the flesh to help ground yourself. It didn’t help much as he helped you reach new peaks, his dick being the only thing on your mind as your eyes rolled back.
The delicious friction of his pelvis against your swollen bud was what set you off. Your body clenched around him as heat spread under your skin. The ringing in your ears came back ten fold and your vision blurred into white. Your entire body spasming with your release as your hoarse voice called his name like a prayer.
You could faintly hear Zayne’s voice over the ringing, “So good, doing such a good job for me, my angel.” He groaned, pressing open mouth kisses along the column of your neck. You were slowly coming back down when you felt his length leaving you.
Your eyes looked over, watching as Zayne’s hand engulfed his length, gliding over the shaft before his milky release began splattering on your stomach and right over your overstimulated pussy. You were trembling still as you felt the liquid hitting your overheated skin.
Once he was spent, he leaned forward and pressed his forehead to yours, looking you in the eyes, “How are you?” His voice was like silk, gently pulling you back down to him. His clean hand moved some hair that had gotten into your face as he pressed a kiss to your nose, waiting patiently.
“Never been better.” You said, still in a bit of a daze.
“I wasn’t too rough, was I?” He asked, noticing how your aching legs began falling to his sides. You hummed in thought, a hand going to cup his cheek and you smiled.
“Not at all.” You said with a small laugh. Zayne smiled, leaning in to press a quick kiss to your lips before going to stand.
“I’ll be right back, you wait right here.” He said, looking you over once more before leaving the room.
He didn’t leave you for long, soon coming back in, this time with underwear on. He held a glass of water in one hand, and a warm, wet towel in the other. He approached you on the bedside, setting the glass down and moving in with the towel to clean up your combined spend.
You winced as the towel went to clean your folds and Zayne glanced up at you, “I did warn you about this outcome.” He scolded and you rolled your eyes.
“It’s worth it…it’s always worth it.” You fought back, not ever giving in that you might’ve made a slight miscalculation. How you’d be able to run around at work tomorrow was a mystery. You debated calling out, after all it was insanely easy for you to get a doctor’s note to explain your absence.
“You’re insatiable.” he said, finishing up between your legs. He handed you a glass of water, eyeing you as you took a small sip. Once you realized it was perfectly chilled you let the water run down your throat, enjoying how soothing it felt. You didn’t realize how scratched your throat had gotten until that moment.
Once you finished you handed him back the cup, “Thank you very much, Doctor Panda.” You teased.
“Doctor Panda?” He asked incredulously.
“Yes, sir.”
“Remind me to be more careful to not lose a bet with you.” He said as he went to lay in the bed, pulling you along with him. Your head rested on his chest as you looked up at him.
“I dunno, my ideas do tend to lead to fun outcomes.” You pointed out.
“I assure you, all you need to do is ask and you shall receive.” He informed you with an amused glint in his eyes.
“I’ll remember that for future reference…I love you, Zayne.” You said, letting the sap take over after your passionate tryst.
“Love you too, my little panda.”

Reader
Two days.
Forty-eight hours since I told Jasper Hale I needed time, space. Insane, really. Insane that even though he’s gravity, he’s in every thought scrolling through my brain, I asked him for the very thing my heart abhors. The very thing my brain needs.
It’s exhausting, my rational brain warring with my irrational heart. He’s here, he’s home, I just need to soak up every second. But on the other hand… for how long? We still have the same issue - my humanity and his control.
My hand shuts my locker door not-so-softly and I stare at my fingers on the cold metal. They could be touching cold skin instead- fuck, this stupid beating organ in my chest.
Frustration drives me to dig my phone out of my pocket as the bell for fourth period rings, the hallway behind me emptying out quickly.
He answers on the second ring and relief loosens the knot in my chest fractionally.
“Hey girly, what’s up?” Quil’s chipper tone brings a grin to the corner of my lips.
“Kidnap me? Please?”
He must hear the desperation in my voice, since he agrees immediately. “Absolutely, I’ll be there in twenty.” A shout of protest echoes in the background and he apologizes quickly, he was in class I can’t just ask him to- “Lunch?” He asks, jogging now by the puffs of his breath.
“Quil, that's a thirty minute drive-” I protest, worried.
“And you need rescuing, figure out what you want for lunch.” He ends the call abruptly as the squeaky door to his junky old car opens.
Sighing at my phone, I pocket it and turn towards my next class. I can survive until he gets here, right? I’ve been climbing the walls for the last two days, the object of my thoughts noticeably absent from school.
That’s a good thing, right? He’s doing what I asked, allowing me the space I need to think clearly, without his persuasion.
When in all actuality, I can’t help but feel like the walls are shrinking.
He’s here, he’s home, he said he wasn’t going anywhere, his family is still here.
The affirmations trickle over my buzzing skin.
I saw Alice in second period. Emmett is sitting behind my empty seat in Trig - I just have to walk through the door.
How the fuck am I going to move forward, to figure out a solution with Jasper, if I’m also trying to tackle their abandonment?
I might as well be trying to move forward through mud - thick, dark, and fucking everywhere.
My phone vibrates about fifteen minutes before the end of class, I don’t dare pull it out of my pocket to confirm that it’s Quil.
My hand raises and immediately catches Mr. Varner’s gaze in the quiet classroom, “Yes, miss Y/l/n?”
“May I run to the bathroom, please?” I ask, trying to keep the sudden impatience out of my voice.
His nod is all I need to pack away my items quickly, behind me I hear the groan of the desk supporting the hulking frame of my other best friend.
“Y/n, what are you-” Emmett’s hushed whisper makes my pulse jump.
“I’ll be safe, promise.” I whisper back and practically run for the door.
A chair squeaks and Mr. Varner calls out, “Mister Cullen, she does not require assistance finding the ladies room, sit down.”
I flash him an apologetic smile as he slowly retakes his seat before I push the door open. I feel horrible, but I need the freedom waiting for me in the student parking lot.
Sprinting through the exterior double doors, a full-on smile overtakes my face as Quil leans over the center console to open the passenger door, “Hop in, loser!”
Sitting in the parking lot facing First Beach with the windows rolled down, munching on cheap burgers and fries, I feel like I can finally take a deep breath.
“Okay,” setting down his shake to begin his interrogation, I brace. “Not that playing hookie isn’t the best idea ever to kick off the weekend, but what’s wrong?”
“He’s back.” I stare at the last few bites of my burger as I set it down in my lap, the paper crinkling loudly.
“He as in-”
“Jasper.”
“Oookaaay,” he draws out the vowels, not really following the obvious dilemma. “You wanted him to come back, right? I mean, you were a fucking mess the last six months.”
“Yes I wanted him to come back! I just-” I hesitate, “I just don’t know how to feel about it.”
“If my boyfriend-” I level a look on him that he ignores, “He’s yours, hook, line, and sinker - c’mon. If my boyfriend up and abandoned me, and I hadn’t gotten over it in six fucking months, suddenly is back in my life, what’s there to feel other than relief? A reprieve from what you’ve been feeling without him?”
“Since when do you know-”
“Stop deflecting, I’m here to solve this shit because my best friend needs help.” He’s munching on fries like this is goddamn entertainment. “Answer. Now.” This fucking fucker.
“Fine.” I puff out a breath and stare at the waves. “We’re still in the same situation he left me in-”
“The situation you won’t tell me about?”
“Yes.” The exasperation in my tone brokers no room for argument on the subject, so I move on. “I feel like the rug is going to be yanked out from underneath me because of it. There’s no way, over or through this mountain, it’ll always be there.”
“Mountains wither over time; if creeks can be persistent enough to become rivers, then so can you. I don’t know what this mountain looks like, but have you ever asked him for help to explore it? To find a path in the trees one step at a time?”
I look at him, gobsmacked. He makes it sound so easy.
“Don’t look at me like that, I may not have experience, but I can tell you what I feel like is right. And it feels right to just talk to him. I can tell you what to do all day until I’m blue in the face, but only he can reassure you in ways no one else can.” The empathy in his face makes my eyes sting, fuck he’s right.
“You are a treasure, you know that Quil Ateara?” I give him a sad smile trying to reign in my stupid tears, reaching for his hand.
He gives it to me and squeezes, “Of course,” he says it like it’s as obvious as grass being green. “And someday I’ll be as wrecked about a girl and you can regurgitate this shit back to me.” His shit-eating grin contains a little mustard in the corner and I bust out laughing.
“Ancestors help her, she’ll have to put up with a lot when it comes to you.” I tease and he winks.
“I’m nothing but a hoot, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Cranking his museum piece of a car, he turns it in the direction of his house and we leave today’s worries in the sand to be washed away with the tide.

Jasper
The swish of the automatic front doors of the hospital snap me from the thoughts pinging around in my brain. The cold crystal in my hand gathering condensation brings me back to my mission.
Striding down the familiar hallway that contains Carlisle’s office, I stop at the door displaying his name. Peeking inside to confirm my hearing, my adoptive father is definitely absent from his worn leather chair. No matter, procrastination won’t win me anything.
Continuing down the hallway, my steps are nearly silent as the nurse’s station comes into view with the object of my mission sitting alone behind a massive monitor.
“It’s after visitation hours, you’ll have to come back-” She finally raises her eyes and her sentence peters off quietly, “tomorrow-Jasper?”
Y/n’s mother stands from her chair as she registers my face, eyes falling to the bouquet of flowers set in one of Esme’s many crystal vases.
“Take this one, she’ll know you mean business.” Esme deposited the vase on the kitchen counter in front of me this morning while I was lost in thought on how to talk to Y/n’s mom. Apparently flowers are still the way women prefer their apologies.
“Y/n is still at the Reservation-” She starts, assuming it’s her daughter the flowers are for.
“I know.” Placing the arrangement Rosalie helped me with on the counter, I turn my supernatural gift inward and mellow out my nerves. “These are for you, ma’am.”
“Oh.” Surprise fills the air as her speechlessness pulses for a few seconds, the beeping of heart rate monitors echo around us. “You didn’t have to-” Gasping, her eyes narrow when they meet mine, weariness floods her senses. “You’re not asking-”
I chuckle, knowing what this looks like, “No ma’am, I’m here to apologize.”
Nerves fill my throat in an unfamiliar sensation for a reason not related to this apology, she thought I was asking to marry her daughter.
I store that thought away in the recesses of my mind, I can’t even begin to fall down that rabbit hole of complication.
“I’m not the one who needs an apology.” Her tone is soft as she plucks at a deep red rose petal.
“Your daughter will get an apology from me for the rest of my life, if she chooses to let me continue to be in hers.” That grabs her attention again. “You deserve one too, you were with her when I wasn’t and it put an immense amount of unwarranted stress on you both. I hope you accept my sincerest apology, even if you decide I’m not worth your good graces.” I take a deep breath and speak from the heart with my next words. “In September I was given a challenge that I failed and it rocked my world in a way I’m not even sure I know how to handle even now. I thought that if I simply removed myself, she could continue on like she had before we met. I know now… I know now that was not the answer and it never will be.”
I notice her eyes begin to turn a little misty as she processes my words and it wrenches a little something in my chest, I didn’t want to make her mom cry.
“She makes me want to be better, do better.” I glance at the empty hallway, quiet this late in the afternoon. “I want to be someone she’s proud of, someone worthy of her, no matter how hard it is. I want you to be able to trust me with her, which is why it was important to tell you how sorry I am.”
After a moment of surveying my face, pure joy radiates from her pores as she rounds the end of the desk to face me fully.
“Of course I accept your apology,” she envelops me in what would be a bone crushing hug, “thank you.”
Relief courses through me as we separate, glad I decided to do this.
“I appreciate your apology and these gorgeous flowers,” she rubs my shoulder in such a soothing mom-manner before leveling me with a no-kidding look. “Whatever my daughter decides, goes.”
“Absolutely,” completely serious, “I am at her mercy and if she wants nothing to do with me, I’ll respect that.”
“I knew you were a good one.” She winks at me before returning to her seat with a smile. “Your dad should be finished with afternoon rounds, now that you got the hard part of your visit over.”
“It’s never hard, talking to a pretty lady.” Now it’s my turn to wink, she responds with a genuine laugh that makes me smile.
“Flattery will get you everywhere, Mister Hale.” I take my leave as she resumes her typing.
Navigating back to my father’s office, I drop myself with relief into the chair in front of his immaculate desk.
“I’m pleased that went well, you did good.” He doesn’t even glance up at me, but the smile and his emotions oozing happiness tell me I did something right for once.
“One down, one to go.” I lean my head back in the chair and close my eyes, allowing myself to feel the relief of winning her mother over again.
“One down, one to go.” He repeats back, his smile evident in his voice.
I needed this win. I needed to succeed at something with this balled up mess in my chest.
Now I just need her.

The Fucking Fight Club (2)
Summary: Hazel tries to control her powers during the first fight club. But because she's a loser, she fucks up. A lot.
Pairing: Spider-Woman!Hazel Callahan x Classmate!Reader
Warnings: Mature language, use of (Y/N), mild violence, mentions of bruises and blood
Word Count: 3866
Note: Okay I know I gave y'all the first chapter yesterday but you guys surprised me with so much likes, I quickly whipped up the next chapter. The ending is kind of bad but lmfao idc. It's extra long cause I probably can't write until next weekend due to fucking midterms. I wish I could drop out and write fanfics all day long. But life is unfair to the gays. - Bia <3
“Okay, before we actually do this, I want Hazel to practice controlling her punches.”
Josie had dragged PJ and Hazel to a hiking trail in the nearest forest. This wouldn’t have been mandatory if Hazel didn’t have the super-strength to murder a human with a single blow, but since she did, Josie wasn’t about to let the feminist self-defense fight club happen without a bit of rehearsal.
“Fine, mom.” PJ rolled her eyes. She was used to Josie’s dramatic cautiousness, but this seemed like a waste of time. She turned to Hazel and offered her face. “Hazel, just relax, and punch me.”
Hazel did a double take. “Punch… punch you?”
“Okay, I don’t like that tone. I know how to take a punch. Something people would always say is ‘PJ knows how to take a punch.’ Come on up.”
“PJ, she literally beat up a grown man with metal octopus arms last week. And the week before that, a man made of indestructible sand. You remember that? On the news? You might know how to take a punch, but you don’t know how to take her punch.”
“That’s why we’re practicing!”
“I meant like practice on a tree or something.” Josie waved towards the nearest tree, standing about 25 feet tall. “Hit a tree, Hazel.”
Hazel shrugged, before pulling back and punching into the middle of the tree. In a split second, the tree quaked under the assault, its massive frame crackling under the exact spot of Hazel’s fist. The bark gave away first, exploding outward in a radial pattern. When she retracted her hand, there was a massive dent on the thick body of the tree, jagged fault lines extending from the center of the impact.
PJ’s eyes widened. “Holy fuck. That could have been my face.”
Josie shook her head. “Okay, so, obviously, you have to calm down. By a lot. Try the same thing, but like, weaken it?”
Hazel nodded. She then gently tapped the tree with her fist.
Josie shook her head again. “That was clearly too weak.”
Hazel sighed. “I don’t know if I can do this, guys. I’m so used to punching psychopathic criminals who want to kill me, so I’m always using at least 90% of my strength.”
“Which is why I brought this.” Josie pulled out a piece of paper from her bag. It turned out to be your face printed on an A4 sheet with a speech bubble that read, ‘punch me!’ “Now, hear me out—”
“-Actually, this is brilliant,” PJ said, taking the paper from Josie’s hands. She taped it to the tree and presented it to Hazel. “Imagine the tree is (Y/N). She’s standing in front of you. She’s sexy, she's wearing a bikini, she’s ready to learn, and she’s asking you to punch her. What do you do?”
Hazel stared at the tree with your face on it. In spite of this entire scenario being outrageously stupid, Hazel’s eyes fixated on the piece of paper, trying to immerse herself in your 2D face. It seemed to be a copy from last year’s yearbook, one that she had spent many hours staring at. She felt weirdly guilty as she wrinkled her eyebrows.
“I don’t really want to punch her.”
“Well, you have to! This is for feminism!” PJ groaned when she saw the hesitancy in Hazel’s face. “Hazel, women like strong, protective people. Why do you think there’s a hulk shrine in the girl’s second floor bathroom? You punch (Y/N) straight in the face, and she’ll immediately fall in love with you.”
“Well–”
“-She will, Josie.”
Hazel nodded. It was worth a try. If she wanted to wrestle with you in this club, she had to try. With a measured breath, Hazel extended her arm, fingers curling into a tight fist. She delivered a punch, focusing on her strength rather than causing harm. The moment of impact was firm but gentle, almost considerate towards the tree’s bark. It was as if the tree had barely registered the encounter, although its leaves were left shaking. She turned to her friends.
“Perfect,” PJ whispered, her eyes glistening in awe. “Let’s go beat some bitches up.”
“Not how I’d word it,” Josie muttered.
That afternoon, you were taking a hike in the same forest with Isabel and Brittany. It was quite calming, walking and talking with your friends in the middle of a beautiful forest. Birds were chirping, winds were breezing– And you guys were completely alone, since nobody really came here, and if they did, it was usually after sunset to do drugs and film porn.
The three of you reached the midpoint of the trail to take a small break, when Brittany pointed at a nearby tree.
“Hey, isn’t that…”
You followed her finger to a tall tree that seemed to be beaten up by someone, with its bark splintered and smashed by a form of impact. And in the middle of its trunk, was a photo of you, with a speech bubble that read ‘punch me!’.
Your heart dropped.
“Oh my god, (Y/N), somebody wants to kill you,” Isabel gasped. She walked up to the tree and ripped the paper off. “Isn’t this from our yearbook?”
You reached out to take the paper from Isabel’s hand and inspected it closely. It was indeed a page from the previous year’s yearbook, with your smiling face captured in a freeze-frame moment of your junior days. The speech bubble, however, had been added later, which meant that someone had deliberately printed your face, edited it, and pinned it to a tree to violently punch it out.
You felt a chill down your body. Who could have done this? You knew it was hard to be friends with everyone from school– but who would despise you enough to do this vicious and also slightly weird property damage to nature?
“We should report it or something, like to a park ranger,” Brittany offered, sensing your panic.
“No, They’re just going to tell us not to come back here wearing shorts,” You sighed. There were no cameras on the trail or anything, and the park rangers were men who were probably going to comment on your appearance instead of the actual problem at hand. “I have to do something about this by myself.”
You needed protection. No, you needed to learn how to protect yourself. You needed teachers who could help you protect yourself from evil highschool men.
You needed Hazel Callahan.
You turned to your friends with a determined face, masking your fear before saying;
“Do you guys want to join a self-defense club with me?”
Isabel and Brittany paused, exchanged glances, then nodded.
“What the fuck. These girls are ugly.”
It was the first club meeting for the feminist self-defense fight club, and there were exactly 8 girls waiting in the gym. Absolutely no sign of you. Hazel laid on the gym mats, trying not to show her disappointment. She reached for her phone, staring at your number in her contacts. She never got to texting you because she was panicking over what to say one night, and was busy fighting off muggings and carjackings every other night.
“Are you stressed? Cause I’m stressed,” Josie muttered, as the advisor for the club hopped in, earning a sharp breath from Hazel.
“Hey, ladies! Let’s get it poppin’ in this motherfucker.”
Hazel blinked. Mr. G was the advisor for this club?
This was going to be absolutely horrendous.
“Alright, uhm… hello, everybody,” Josie tried, looking around the gym filled with girls jumping on trampolines, hula-hooping, scooting, and balance-balling. “Okay, excuse me, sorry, I feel- sorry–”
“-EVEVRYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP.” PJ hit the floor with a broom, each collision echoing through the space with a ‘BANG’.
“This isn’t a little hangout, okay? Oh it’s not a sleepover or playtime. There are serious rules that we need to establish, okay?
“First? Listen to Hazel.”
Hazel lifted her hand in a subtle gesture.
“Second? Be on time. Except for you,” PJ pointed to Mr. G. “You come whenever you want. What time is it?”
“3:30–-”
“-3:30! Club starts at 3:15. Not 3:16, not 3:17. But the door closes at 3:15. No exceptions!”
Hazel smiled. Other than the fact that they were the ones who were actually late, PJ was doing amazing, putting authority towards the three girls and setting the ambiance. PJ could be a menace sometimes most of the time, but when she wanted to get shit done, she got shit done. Hazel was almost too distracted by PJ’s rant—
“-I don’t care, if you’re like, oh, but I had to go get extra help for math because I need to get a full ride because my mom lives in a trailer and she loves her boyfriend more than me, bleh blah blarh blargh– Shut up. My dad left me and I’m incredibly punctual–”
–That she didn’t even notice you walking into the gym with Isabel and Brittany following closely behind. When she did notice, her heart seemed to pick up speed, her lips curling into a smile even without realizing. Josie recognized the smile– one that Hazel only had when she was talking about her crush— and Josie turned around, motioning to PJ that the holy trinity had entered the gym.
Your eyes met with Hazel’s, and you waved in acknowledgement. She almost dropped her notebook as she looked around to check if you were waving to someone else, and then she fumblingly waved back. You giggled. Hazel had this face that effortlessly radiated innocent charm. You weren’t sure why, but you were drawn to her slightly nerdy demeanor. (it’s called being gay)
“Hey, guys. Come on in,” PJ rasped. “Uh… we’re just getting started here.”
You walked to Hazel and stood beside her. “Sorry we’re late,” you apologized.
The three girls shook their heads. “Don’t worry about it—”
“-Uhm, the rules were for next week, but this week is good–”
“-Yeah, no worries, take it easy.”
Annie seemed confused. “Okay, I just want to make sure– This is a self-defense class, right? Where we can learn to protect ourselves against football players.”
“And the criminals that Spider-Woman has been fighting? Cause, uhm, crime rate has been going up so criminals are gonna pork us. They’re gonna pork us.”
“I thought we were fighting each other for money. There’s a cash prize, right?”
“I thought this was to be a part of like a local, underprivileged female community.”
“My identity is completely attached to hers so I just go wherever she goes.”
“I thought I could learn how to protect myself. Cause I’m pretty sure someone’s trying to kill me,” You added.
“What?” Hazel turned, her eyes filled with worry.
“Everyone’s here for a good reason!” Josie laughed. “So, you know, why are we nitpicking reasons?”
“Yeah! So, let’s jump in. Hazel, why don’t you take it away?”
“Uh.”
PJ and Josie stepped back and began clapping. Everyone else followed along into a scattered and confused applause. Hazel walked to the front, opening up her notebook to the page reading ‘Self-Defense Club.’
“Okay. Hi. I’m Hazel. And I’m going to teach you guys how to fight. Maybe throw some punches. Some kicks.”
There was a bit of silence, maybe a single cough. PJ spoke up.
“(Y/N), since you’re closest to Hazel, why don’t you volunteer and step up?”
You shrugged. “Sure.”
You werent completely sure what was going on or how exactly Hazel was going to teach self-defense, but you dropped your backpack to the floor and walked towards Hazel, who looked incredibly afraid of what was going to happen next. She looked over your shoulders to PJ and Josie.
PJ mouthed the words, ‘Punch her. She’s the tree. Punch her.’
Hazel sent signals through her eyes meaning, ‘I can’t– I’m not gonna punch her.’
PJ continued to mouth the words, ‘Punch her. Hulk shrine. Imagine her wearing a bikini.’
Hazel’s face contorted with disbelief, her eyebrows raised in surprise, and her mouth slightly agape. Was she actually going to punch the girl that she’d been crushing on for years? Was this really the way to do it? She tried to ignore PJ who was now mouthing ‘punch your virginity away’ and instead curled her hands into fists, imagining the tree, the print-out of your face saying ‘punch me!’, you wearing a bikini, your smile, your wave, your eyes, your body—
-While you stood beside her, wondering why Hazel looked like she was about to shit herself. You began to open your mouth to ask if she was okay.
“Hazel—”
—And she flung her fist to your face.
You didn’t even register what had happened until a sharp burst of pain radiated from your nose, and you found yourself laying on the floor of the gym. You heard gasps and shouts and something about Mr. G trying to shut the club down (“Hey hey hey hey hey– I don’t know about this shit-”) as you slowly sat up, tasting liquid metal. The pain began to spread to the rest of your face as your eyes blurred up, leaving you momentarily stunned and struggling to regain your composure.
“Fuck, (Y/N)- I’m so sorry-” a horrified voice rang in front of you, and you felt a warm hand against your cheek. The hand seemed to be shaking, and you wiped your hazy eyes to see Hazel kneeling beside you, her expression embedded with guilt. “Oh my god. Oh my god.”
“You didn’t even warn her!” Annie screamed.
PJ shrugged. “Okay, we didn’t get warnings in juvie. Juvie was way crazier. One time, this girl’s punching me in the rain. Fall to my knees. It’s muddy. I get up– I’m blind. Punch her right in the middle of her face. Broke her fucking nose.”
“Pretty sure Hazel broke (Y/N)’s nose too,” Annie grumbled.
Isabel hurriedly handed you a couple of paper towels as Mr. G pushed the crowd to assess the situation.
“Let me see her,” Mr. G ordered, gasping when he saw the amount of blood coming from your nose. “Oh, shit, man, we gotta shut this down.”
“No, No—”
“-Shut this shit down. Shut it down—”
“-No, Don’t blow the whistle– Don’t blow the whistle!” Josie yelled. Everyone went silent, turning their attention from you to Josie. “I know that, you know– this is a little messy and bloody right now— Hazel, can you take (Y/N) to the nurse’s office– but like, the only way that we can learn how to defend ourselves is by teaching each other.”
Josie continued on with her little speech as Isabel and Brittany offered to take you to the nurse. But Hazel denied their help, rambling something about how this was all her fault. She picked you up fairly easily to your surprise, bridal style, and carried you out of the gym. You clutched onto her and rested your aching face into her stomach, feeling embarrassed.
When you arrived at the office, the nurse had gone home already, leaving Hazel to place you on the examination bed and find the medical kit. She seemed really anxious as you touched your face, your hand coming back dripping in red.
“God, juvie really taught you how to punch, huh,” You joked, battling your agony with humor. Hazel didn’t laugh. Instead she grabbed a cloth and ran it under the sink water, indulging the silence. You tried again. “Hazel.”
It was ignored once again as Hazel kneeled in front of you and started cleaning your face, her thumb gently holding your chin. She was very obviously avoiding your gaze with the best of her ability.
“Hazel, look at me.”
Hazel finally looked up to your eyes. She looked like a child knowing that she was about to be reprimanded or put on time out— and you almost felt sorry for Hazel, even though you were the one bleeding out. She seemed to grimace as you opened your mouth, getting ready to be shouted at. But instead, you asked;
“Why didn’t you message me?”
Hazel paused.
“I gave you my number. You didn’t message me,” You said again, completely serious. “You don’t like me?”
“No, I like you!” Hazel exclaimed. Her cheeks turned into a shade of pink as she tried to reword the sentence. “I mean, I don’t don’t like you, I… I’m really sorry. I wasn’t sure if you even wanted to come to the club, and I’m sure you don’t want to anymore-”
“-No, I want to.” You interrupted. “I mean, my face hurts like a bitch, but… it was a solid punch. And I really do need to learn how to defend myself like that. I think someone’s trying to kill me, so I want to be ready.”
Hazel cocked her head. “Is someone attacking you? Do you need help?”
You shook your head. “Not exactly, but I did see my face taped onto a tree, and someone had hit it really, really hard. Like, incredibly hard. Maybe with a rock, or something? I don’t know. I think it might be a death threat.”
Color seemed to drain out of Hazel’s face.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you–” You explained, mistaking Hazel’s pale skin as fear. “Listen, I’m not angry at you. Well, okay, I am a little, I think you could have warned me about the punch, at least, but… I know that you’re still recovering from your past and you’re probably on edge all the time.”
Hazel nodded along, as it was partially true– she was on edge, but mainly because you were staring down at her with blood on your face and you still managed to look hot as fuck. She choked on her words before saying, “Still, I shouldn't have punched you like that. I don’t know what I was thinking. I’m really sorry.”
You smiled. “This is the whole point of the club though, right? You punch me, I punch you… and we become stronger together– ow.”
You winced when the cloth touched a particular spot on your nose bridge, being reminded of your injury.
“Shit, sorry, here—” Hazel instantly dropped the cloth. She carefully cupped your face, examining your wound with sincere worry. She was used to seeing wounds on herself, but seeing them on a person that she liked— seeing them on you, made her particularly upset.
You were surprised to see Hazel being so serious. Every time you tried to talk to her, she was either nervous or punching you. To see her so focused on your face made you feel a bit self-conscious, leading you to comment on her skills to break the silence.
“You seem to have a lot of experiences patching someone up. Do you do this often?”
She chuckled, “You have no idea.”
You assumed she was talking about juvie, and you recalled seeing the bruises on her face the last time you talked to her. Was Hazel still having problems with crime even after prison? You stared at her, your heart throbbing with sympathy for Hazel. What struggles had she faced in her past for her to learn to punch so strongly, to patch up bruises, and to always be nervous around others?
Hazel pulled away from you, finishing up the basic patch-up. She started putting the medical kit away as you caught sight at the mirror across from you.
“Great. I look awful.” You sighed, lingering on your reflection.
“No, you don’t.”
Hazel tore her eyes away from the kit and responded, as if you had said something completely out of reality. You laughed and shook your head, looking at the floor.
“No, my face is a complete mess–”
“-You look pretty.”
You tore your eyes off from the floor to Hazel. She was staring at you with a soft look in her eyes, one that you felt yourself getting lost in. She had such… honesty within them, as if she fully believed your beauty underneath the red and blue color.
“You always do.”
And for a moment you wondered how you had never truly seen Hazel before— when the soft glow from the sun streamed through the window, casting a warm light over the two of you. Hazel’s brown hair, cascading into a messy mullet, framed her face which seemed to be burning up each second that passed.
“...you too,” You muttered, a shy smile replacing your dumbstruck expression. “I hope you know that.”
Then it was her turn to gawk, at you and your hands timidly placed on your legs which dangled from the examination bed. She was reminded of her crush that had been sitting in her heart for years. She had just spent 5 minutes in a room alone with you— and for a second, she was almost glad that she punched you.
And all of a sudden, Hazel seemed to recognize the lack of space between the two of you. Had you been this close to her this entire time? Your face was just inches apart from hers, and time seemed to stretch as you two gazed at each other, hearts thumping in unison. It was as if the wall Hazel had managed to build around her feelings towards you crumbled within this moment. Hazel’s lips parted, just a fraction, as if inviting the inevitable to say—
“-The club isn’t being shut down!”
The office door swung open with a bang.
Hazel immediately leaped back from you, as you whipped your face towards PJ and Josie who stopped in their celebratory tracks, analyzing the odd tension from the room.
“Oh, sorry, we thought–” Josie gaped, rubbing the back of her head in awkwardness. “How are you doing, (Y/N)?”
“I’m doing okay, actually. I should go. But I’ll see you later, bye.” You hopped down from the bed and started walking out of the room, talking a bit too fast for anyone’s comfort. You almost fell over while you ran down the hallway, unable to accept what had just unfolded. What was that? You almost— you almost kissed a girl. You almost kissed Hazel Callahan.
In the meantime, Hazel was also mortified at the fact PJ and Josie had interfered right then and there. She hid her face with her hands which her friends mistook for anger.
Josie tried to calm her down, “Okay, I know that today was kind of a disaster and you made (Y/N) bleed, but after you left we managed to grow the spirit. Everyone’s into beating each other up now. It’s kind of working.”
“And, I honestly don’t know what just went on right now but… (Y/N) just said she’ll ‘see you later’. Which means it kind of worked for you too,” PJ added. “And it doesn’t seem like you broke her nose, which meant that you can actually control your power!”
“Are you still up for this, Hazel?”
Hazel peeked out from hands, her face still red, her heart still sprinting, her mind still thinking about your lips— and how you said you would see her later. A smile tugged at her lips as she nodded and said,
“Let’s fucking do this.”

I'm still pissed at ROTT so since I'm not a YouTube reviewer you get this text wall of me explaining why while the ending of the movie does indeed suck it isn't just the ending that sucks
Why didn't Jim put on any armor till the very end? you pretentious child why should I care if you got injured when you're running around armorless just because you can't have your magical amulet armor anymore
Why was Jim questioning if he was still the Trollhunter when all the way back in S2 E11 'Unbecoming' of Trollhunters he himself said "I know I'm the Trollhunter. I'm the Trollhunter, Amulet or not"
Why did Jim suddenly start caring about his father in the movie? Aside from the fact the conversation leads to nothing and you could've easily cut it out and it wouldn't have changed anything it was established all the way back in S1 that Jim never cared about his father so why retcon that?
They shouldn't have killed Nomura off so early when we've barely been able to see her dynamic with the Trollhunter cast outside of being an antagonist and let alone see her dynamic with the cast of 3below and Wizards
Following up on the last one why did you send Trolls to the only Titen in broad daylight, you can't tell me there weren't better picks then Nomura and Arrrgh
And on that point, here's my little fan reassignment of the teams
(I put way to much effort in this literally sobbing, pls click 4 better quality :'()
Anyways time to explain my reasonings
Team Sword: the OG was fine I have almost no problems with this one but Krel could've been utilized way better imo, also Arrrgh is perfect for lifting up a giant rock with a sword embedded in it, he's literally always described as a hulking brute by other characters so ??
Team Orb: same thing with Team Sword I have nothing against it and it's probably the best one out of all of the originals but man Nomura interacting with Blinky is just... such an amusing thought to me, it is partly fueled by the short kinda interaction they had when Krel was playing music earlier in the movie but anyways more serious reasoning is I think she's the best alternative to Claire since it's not like her shadow magic was- or could've been used at any point during the mission乁(ツ)∫
Team Sunshine: once again what the hell was Jim thinking with this one? The only one that made sense to be there was Douxie, anyways reasonings with this one is that 1. Toby would actually be utilized lmao 2. Toby and Krel interactions fuel my soul 3. With Toby's hammer and Krels tech they'd probably have a way easier time getting up the Earth Titen
Team Icy: Claire Shadow magic = no rope snapping and lesser chance of Strickler dying aka less unnecessary deaths yay :DDDD
The mission assigning was such a good opportunity to have characters interact who haven't interacted prior/flesh out previously established relationships that didn't get alot of screentime and ROTT blew it, truly so much missed potential but I suppose you can say that for the entire movie
Why did they just casually mention there was a heartstone on Akiridion-5 like we knew that information prior to the movie? no one commented on it and it made me feel insane while watching
GET. RID. OF THE. MPREG. SIDE PLOT‼️‼️‼️ you're not Fairly OddParents it doesn't work and doesn't make sense, Aja and Steve have entirely different biology
(These next ones are more personal/general nitpicks but whatever)
Call me a hater but the whole "Arcadia is the center of the universe" is so dumb, I remember first hearing that little bit of info from a fancomic and i thought it was just having Blinky be egotistical but no, apparently that's a fact of life now
Idk I think it's cooler and funnier if all these guys came to Arcadia out of pure coincidence yknow?
what/where was Dictatious, Chompsky, Nancy/Nana and anyone else I'm forgetting doing during all this especially when Arcadia was being destroyed at the end, just feel like they should've atleast done a quick cut away shot to what they were doing during all this chaos (translation: I miss Dictatious)
Why doesn't Blinky use Dwärkstones anymore, I thought that was gonna be his signature weapon after The Eternal Knight but apparently not I guess, seeing him chuck explosives at Gods definitely wouldn't have been cool anyways...
Blinky sure has alot of time on his hands for being the supposed Head of New Jersey Trollmarket
Btw does that place even exist cuz for all intents and purposes it doesn't, so serious why didn't we ever get to see it dude 😭
Before I get to pointing out the obvious with the ending I'd like to highlight scenes that I actually liked and were actually good!
I liked the scene in the somewhat beginning with Blinky and Arrrgh talking about if the other dies they were glad they got to know the other that was sweet, loved it, 10/10
Like I mentioned earlier the brief scene with Krel playing music and Blinky and Nomura being annoyed by it was great, got a chuckle out of me and I wish we got to see more of that
Blinky being electrocuted was pretty good 👍 the pilot unnecessarily pointing out his multiple eyes and arms was funny to me
near the end where Blinky went to comfort arrrgh when Toby died was another 10/10 I love them ur honor
Okay being nice over, time to dig into this movie again
Toby being the Trollhunter is such a terrible idea for multiple reasons
For 1. It just makes Jim's job harder now cuz changing something as fundamental as who's the Trollhunter is gonna drastically change so many things which inturn makes things far less predictable and unless Jim has the new amulet still (which is unlikely since he's never shown with it after going back) he can't just Undertale-style reset if something goes wrong
2. Toby has never shown interest in being in any leader-type role (unless you count him directing his short film in 3below) and considering part of being the Trollhunter is basically leading an entire race...
3. Sorta following up on point 2 The role of being Trollhunter holds so much responsibility and burden and it just... dare I say, doesn't make sense for Jim as a character to put that burden onto Toby, his best friend
Guys this is the same kid who went into the darklands alone to take on Gunmar because he didn't want to see anymore of his friends/family getting hurt and you expect me to believe he'd then put that all onto Toby?
4. Toby even getting the amulet doesn't make sense considering in 'Unbecoming' the amulet was already taken by Draal by the time school ended
5. Speaking of 'Unbecoming' that episode also established that if anyone but Jim got the amulet Arcadia- and in extension the world- would be doomed and the eternal knight would happen so I guess he wants everyone to die ! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyways I'm done (hopefully) TLDR: the movies awful, makes dumb decisions, completely ignores or retcons things established earlier in the franchise and didn't utilize it's extensive cast at all
And if you've read this far, thank you I appreciate it and I'll use this time to recommend the original Trollhunters book, it's awesome and has an ending 10x better then this slop please go read it (IHaveATotallyLegalWayForYouToReadItEasily)
#don't ask me why i spent so much time on that dumb chart i don't have an answer#all i can say is drawing characters outside of Jim and Blinky for the first time was hell#especially Stuart#lord...#i implore you all to add anything else to this in the comments/reblogs#trollhunters#tales of arcadia#rise of the titans#toa#my ramblings#YOU ALL WILL SEE THIS#i spent way to long on it

one of the things that really bothers me about modern franchises, and in particular over the last 5 years or so, is their refusal to commit. what i mean here when i say this is that it's not uncommon for a major franchise to make a decision, whether about the plot or the characters, that should have had huge, world-changing consequences... and then just never address that again or worse, immediately go back and undo it. and i'm gonna pick on star wars and the mcu here because those are the two big franchises i'm into at the moment (and i think they're kind of the worst at this), but i don't want you to walk away from this thinking that this is solely a disney thing. i've seen this happen with game of thrones and supernatural and plenty of other non-disney franchises. spoilers ahead, you've been warned:
in ant-man & the wasp quantumania, scott and hope make the life-altering decision to stay behind in the quantum realm and defeat kang instead of going through the portal to return to their world. this should have been a huge meta decision for the mcu, and when i first saw it in theaters, my immediate thought was wow, what is this going to mean for the mcu going forward? are we going to get a movie/miniseries about scott and hope helping to rebuild the quantum realm? how are cassie, janet, and hank going to react to the losses of their loved ones (in some cases, for the second time)? is cassie going to become the "first" young avenger because she has to take her father's place among the team lineup (and i only say first because as of this moment, none of the other young avengers introduced to the franchise are official avengers yet)? except nope, because less than 2 minutes later, cassie had fixed the portal that had broken way back at the beginning of the movie and brought scott and hope back.
and it felt like such a cheat. i was so disappointed in that theater, not as someone who was invested in these characters on a personal level (because yay, cassie gets her dad back!), but as someone who has spent years investing themselves in the story of the mcu. what was the point of wasting screentime on scott and hope accepting their new lives in the quantum realm if it was just going to immediately be undone? the entire scene could have been cut to scott and hope making it back bare seconds before the portal closed and it would have had the same emotional impact. there was nothing added by making scott and hope (and us) think that there was no way back only to rip the rug out from under us and go "gotcha! you really thought we were gonna give this movie a sad ending? haha! you're so dumb!"
and this isn't the first time the mcu has done this. one of the biggest complaints about endgame was the decision to set it five years in the future with no consideration for how that would actually change the setting of the mcu. characters were brought back to the exact place they disappeared from with no consideration for how things might have changed in the interim five years (like planes that weren't in the air anymore, buildings no longer standing, even just something as simple as a chair being unoccupied). and then the mcu didn't even really have the courage to address how this would have shaped the world other than a few jokes and making the bad guys in the falcon and the winter soldier people who cared about how the world had screwed them over during the blip.
and things like this happen over and over and over again. the accords are put into place in civil war, but by the time we get to she-hulk, they're gone with no explanation because, as best as i can tell, the writers didn't want to have to deal with the worldbuilding that went into the accords. gamora is killed in infinity war, but heaven forbid quill not have an emotional investment in a film he appears for maybe 10 minutes in so now she's back in endgame. steve got to go live in the past with his ex-girlfriend (which is in itself a refusal to commit after the mcu both gave her a different husband and had the woman herself tell him to move on) but we need to establish that messing with timelines is bad because that's what the entire next phase hinges on so actually his ending was predestined and it's only everyone else who can't change time. whoever took this entire town and also wanda hostage and forced them to live out a sitcom fantasy is bad and needs to be stopped but wait, it's actually wanda and she can't be the bad guy yet, we need her for doctor strange 2, so actually everyone's going to defend her now and say that no one else could ever possibly understand her grief. thor has decided to accept responsibility as king of asgard, but we can't use him for any more movies if he's stuck in asgard, so actually he's decided to pass it on to someone whose entire leadership capability is developed offscreen. i could list more examples but this is making me angry, so let's move on to star wars instead.
with star wars, i look at first the oft-quoted meme, "somehow palpatine has returned." yeah, i shouldn't really need to go into detail on how that counts as a refusal to commit but. the last jedi was a study in how johnson refused to commit to anything that abrams had laid down in the force awakens, but rise of skywalker was almost like abrams had looked at the franchise and said "screw you for taking it away from me, i'm going to come up with the most bullshit stuff just to spite you for doing that in the first place. and i'm going to start by undoing the most important plot point of the first trilogy: the emperor dies." and yeah, disney's kind of tried to salvage this by dropping hints into the bad batch and the mandalorian about cloning, but that only really works if you're watching the franchise chronologically and not considering that both of those series came out after rise of skywalker.
and then there's the mandalorian, my sweet summer child, who is, in my opinion, the worst at backtracking their plot points. i'm not entirely convinced that any of the higher ups for this show really knew what they were doing when they started working on it and i'm not convinced that they know what they're doing now. yeah, there's the tie-in to the last season of clone wars, but the mandalorian has managed to walk back pretty much every single major plot point it's had. din is this legendary warrior who can't be beat, but no one will watch this show if he defeats everyone too early, so he's constantly getting beat up (tbf, sometimes some of the fights he loses makes sense like the krayt dragon and the mudhorn, but a lot of them don't. at all). moff gideon is dead, no wait no he's not, now he's imprisoned, no wait no he's not, now he's definitely dead, you can totally believe us this time guys. grogu can use the force and must be placed with the jedi, but wait, the only person still actively teaching the way of the jedi is luke and all of his students will be brutally murdered ten years from now, and we can't have that, everyone will be mad at us for killing off such a cute character and no one will buy baby yoda dolls (and also we have to set up luke's character degradation from hopeful, believes-in-love cinnamon roll to "i'm going to kill my nephew") so in between seasons let's have grogu decide to go back to din (and don't even get me started on how frustrating it is that a casual mandalorian watcher also had to watch book of boba fett to understand why grogu is back). din has the darksaber now which makes him king of mandalore, that's totally going to be important and what the entire series has been building up to, right? wrong! he might have spent the first two seasons making connections, learning about the world outside his sheltered upbringing, and demonstrating the various qualities that would make for a good leader, but the entire third season will be about din realizing that actually he's super unworthy and the darksaber should actually go to someone who... saw an animal in the water.
and it's really, really frustrating as a viewer! because how am i supposed to get invested in any of these plot decisions when they almost always get reversed? why should i care that mj and ned have forgotten peter when ant-man 3 has shown me that they'll remember him the next time they're all on screen together? why should i care that tech is dead when half of the last season of clone wars was about how echo was actually alive? if none of these decisions have any permanence, then where are the emotional stakes? why should i watch your movie if all you're going to tell me is that nothing matters?
#and also i want to make a point that the early mcu did permanent stakes really well#iron man 1 ends with tony announcing that he's iron man and that's something that still resonated years later#the entire second film hinged on that one moment#loki falling into the bifrost is what leads him to the chitauri which is what kickstarted the avengers#steve is woken from the ice and the first organization who presents themselves as someone to trust is shield#which sets up the betrayal he feels in the winter soldier#these moments resonate throughout the first two stages and the decisions the characters made MATTERED#so you can't help but get invested because what if it's the wrong decision???#anyway i'm frustrated with the state of franchises#alle talks#long post

Con O'Neill interview with Awards Radar's Steven Prusakowski 😭😭😭❤❤❤
SP: Busy time of year, but, you know, starting to slow down in just enough to hang out with the family and do all the cooking for, like 48 hours and then.
Con: Are you the main cook in the house?
SP: I am the main cook.
Con: Yeah. So am I. I love it.
SP: I love it, too.
Con: It's my go to place.
SP: Yeah.
Con: Because when I left school, I trained to be a chef.
SP: Oh, wow.
Con: Briefly. Another story.Okay, let's rock and roll.
SP: Well, that passion never leaves you, I think. I think once you start, especially when someone enjoys and says, hey, I really liked your food.I hear from my daughter's friends or their parents, she loved your pasta or whatever it was, I'm like, okay, now I'm...
Con: It's the best feeling, isn't it?
SP: It is. It's wonderful.
Con: And just that kind of inherent, nurturing thing of just going into the kitchen empty handed and coming out with a meal for people is really rewarding. And I love it. It's intoxicating. I absolutely love it.
SP: Same here.
Con: Because I travel so much, I don't always get a place with a kitchen. And that's why I always try and get an apartment when I'm filming because it just gives me a place to be in my head that isn't about work.
SP: Yeah. Yeah. Well, I can talk cooking forever, but-
Con: But we should.
SP: I know we're short on time and I have a ton of questions and I won't get to all of them. So let's just jump into the series and maybe we could pick it back up. Sorry to interrupt, but I love the series. I love your character and your performance.
Con: Thank you.
SP: It's a stellar, and there's so much to Izzy that we see on the surface, but there's so much more to him beneath. How was this character originally pitched you and what did you initially want to bring to him?
Con: The thing about this character was he wasn't in the pilot. So when I spoke to David about it, there was nothing written. So he explained it in very broad terms. But then I quite like specifics when I'm choosing projects. And kind of... he brought up Salieri from Amadeus, and I really hooked into that. Now, I don't know whether we went that way with it in the end, but it was a really good hook for me because Salieri is that guy with a mission who is on the surface wanting, but is underneath something else. And I think initially, Izzy was that, but then we exploded him in several other ways and Salieri diminished to something else. But it was a good hook for me
initially to get in by thinking about Salieri.
SP: Yeah, I like it. I could see that for sure. And to start the season two. So going into that, he's a shadow of himself from this feared, intense, strong man to a broken man. And what was it like taking this character and exposing that humanity and starting to peel away some of that shield.
Con: I mean... David had spoken to me before we started shooting and explained most of the hulk to me, and I'd always played Izzy as a man who was in love but didn't know he was in love. And for me, the key into this season was a. the design, but more importantly, was the Taika's performance. To see a man that I love to be that broken and to be that vicious because of the heartbreak, it was profound for me to see what he did with Blackbeard, and it did break my heart a little bit. So the emotional journey was quite clear that at the end of the day, all hatred of Stede had left him, and all he wanted to do is fix Blackbeard, and he risks his life to do that. He literally puts himself on the line for that because, like always. And what I loved about what David and the writers did was they didn't remove Izzy from season one in season two, he's still there. And what Izzy does is about the crew. He puts his life on the line because Blackbeard is killing his crew, and he risks it all for that. But it breaks him seeing the the man he loves so fragile and broken and angry, it breaks him. So, It wasn't an easy job. It was quite a lonely job. It was quite a difficult job because it was going down that path that I knew inevitably we were going to go down. But I thought it was beautifully written. So most of what I needed to do was on the page, to be honest-
SP: -I'm sorry-
Con: I just had to throw myself into it.
SP: Excellent. And then with Izzy being broken and literally broken, he loses his leg, which is symbolic of much more. It leads to one of the most touching moments of the series, a note with four words: For The New Unicorn. What did that mean to you, and what does that mean to the character?
Con: You know, I've been talking a lot last couple of days - because I'm allowed to now - and, you know, this season is about Izzy coming out. In many ways, he comes out, but that moment, that rest, that beautiful piece of writing again, the writing, where the crew embrace him, and it just releases him. It releases him from his own concept of who he is. It releases him from his own concept of who he has to
be to be a first mate and a brilliant first mate. It released him of concept that he's alone. None of this would have been possible to Izzy pre season one, none of it. And in many ways, it's Stede that brings this into his life. Because before Stede, Izzy never thought of his relationship with Blackbeard as a loving relationship. He never thought of it as being in love. He only realizes he's in love with Blackbeard when he sees Blackbeard lose Stede. That's the only... The reveal is he's heartbroken because the man he loves is broken, and he doesn't know what to do with any of that. He's not emotionally capable. And the crew giving him the letter and calling him the new unicorn and releasing him from all the stuff that he'd done, all that pain that he'd suffered and anger that he'd raged upon them, it's a really accepting moment. So... yeah, I'm waffling a bit now, but it meant a lot, and it was a very beautiful moment to play. And I thought Andy, who directed it, directed it so...Andy was a real shoulder for me to lean on in those scenes, because a lot of those early scenes I'm shooting on my own. And it's quite difficult to play an emotional narrative when you're on your own, because it tends to just be one tone. And he was wonderful, and Alyssa and Alex and all. They were all wonderful in helping me gauge those moments, as were the rest of the cast. But, yeah, that moment touched me enormously.
SP: You know, you have this love triangle that is never really spoken, but it's there.
Con: Yeah
SP: Then it kind of shifts - it's almost like a love square. It's Ed, Blackbeard, Izzy and Stede. And where the love, you know, crosses, it's all... or the hatred is at sometimes, but then it evolves...
Con: Absolutely.
SP: It's so complex.
Con: I mean we all're in contemporary language. We always associate love with romance. That isn't the case here. The love that Blackbeard and Izzy have for each other is deep, man. It's deep, and it's rooted in years of working together, loving each other, saving each other's lives, being constant. This is probably the only constant they both had in their lives, is Blackbeard is Izzy, Izzy is Blackbeard, and then they have this buffoon come in and steal Blackbeard's heart. It's not that Blackbeard falls in love with someone else. Blackbeard falls in love with this guy. This Izzy just can't comprehend, and it's a constant. And then once, I think once Blackbeard hands him the gun, everything changes. And Blackbeard says, kill yourself. Everything changes. And then there's an openness to Stede and Blackbeard that brings him to that place of acceptance-
SP: -It's great to watch also. I'm sorry. Go ahead.
Con: No, that. I mean, I'll waffle again. I'll waffle a lot, because that's what I do. But the more I think about that relationship, the more I go down all these different avenues of what it could have been, and what it could never have been, and what it is and what it wasn't. And as you say, it's layered and complex, and I'm honored to have been able to get to play with those actors, and especially with Taika, who's a profoundly good actor - everyone talks about Taika's director and writer - the man's a fucking great actor to work opposite, and he's... he's exquisite. So, yeah, I could only go where I went because the writers and Taika. Really.
SP: That's great. I... of course, we have to touch upon the end of the season and the end of Izzy, unfortunately, which I'm hoping is not. I'm hoping David has something up his sleeve. But what was your reaction when you learned it and how emotional was shooting that final scene? Because that final scene says a lot between...
Con: It was a... listen, I've been around a long time. The writing was on the wall when I started to read the scripts, and David had kind of hinted at it anyway when we went out for the famous dinner where he told me what the plan was, and I was gutted because I loved playing him so much. But, yeah, narratively, yeah, it makes sense. And I have complete faith, respect, love, admiration for David Jenkins, and whatever he thinks or wants to happen in season three will be the right thing if he gets season three, which I, whether I'm involved in it or not, I really hope he gets it, because he deserves it. And the show deserves it. The show deserves its triangle. It deserves it. But, yeah, it took a few days to sink in, and then I was fine. I was incredibly tired by that time. And I was lonely, as... really lonely because I was so far away from home filming all these scenes, and I tended to isolate when I was filming because of the nature of the work. So when I wasn't filming, I was sword training, or I was working out, or I was learning to walk on that fucking leg, or I was whatever whatever whatever. So I found myself isolating a lot. And in a way, it was a relief to be released from it. The final scene David had sent to me several weeks earlier. And I prepped, as I always do, and I prepped and I prepped and we were going to shoot at the beginning of the last week, and then it got shifted to the middle of the last week, and then it got shifted to the morning of the last day, and then it was shifted to the last thing we were going to shoot in the entire season. And there's always a dark cloud around those scenes because you never quite know how it's going to play. And there's a lot of pressure. And it being the last thing we were going to shoot, put more pressure on. And we were on the ship, which is a huge set, hundreds of crew members, the cast, everyone who could possibly be there was there. And I was getting quite unsettled by the amount of cacophony of noise and people. And then we rigged it all up, and it was still just [noise]. And then suddenly it was just me and Taika and just saying goodbye to a character we both fell in love with. And it was... it was a, I'm saying 'profound' a lot, but it was a profound experience doing that scene because everything else disappeared. It was just me and him. It was just Izzy and Blackbeard. And it was a lovely lovely moment.
SP: It was painful, but-
Con: It was lovely to be held by-
SP: -beautiful to watch.
Con: Yeah. Thank you. I mean, it's lovely to be held by another actor just... creatively and likewise with me to him. And David had a playlist playing and it was... elegant to do. It was nice to do. It was a nice, fitting ending to that chapter of this character. And I'll always be grateful that they shot it in that way.

Like before, when Spinner's overwhelmed, his go-to cope is give up and stop thinking. When the heteromorphobia of his hometown got too much, Spinner gave up. His heart was emptied out.
When Shigaraki was writhing on the ground in a cave and there's All For One telling him things are fine and handing him the phone to rally up the heteromorphs, Spinner's sick with worry about Shigaraki and troubled about being a spokesman because he knows he never had such noble goals, but he gives up there too.
Here, Spinner tries to do the same thing again. Stop thinking. If he thinks, if he continues down the memories and his despair, he'll end up hurt.
(I wonder if that's why he was looking like that last chapter - lying in bed, hearing the door open but not even bothering to turn his head or sit up. Looking so empty.)
But this time, Spinner keeps thinking. That's what I'm taking the line to be - he's already thinking, so he's telling himself to stop thinking, but it's not working, because he keeps speaking. He keeps talking about what Shigaraki means to him.
Shigaraki allowed him to dream, despite Spinner being empty and a loser, and it was one such that Spinner felt like that dream would awaken to something big. Spinner thought by following Shigaraki, he could finally be someone.
(Spinner's had this thought before - and it ended with him thinking about Shigaraki watching him. He wanted Shigaraki to see him - what he's doing for Shigaraki, for the League, what he's done for himself. It didn't work out, but Spinner was thinking it.)
Spinner takes action too - grabbing Midoriya Izuku, the boy who killed Shigaraki Tomura, to tell him: Shigaraki Tomura was my hero.
In this, it parallels and responds to what Shigaraki himself was saying in Chapter 418, even after his hatred was smashed, after his past of guilt and trauma was relieved: Those guys/the League/The Villains need a hero of their own. Shigaraki wanted to be the Villains' Hero.
So Spinner confirms it. Shigaraki was his hero. Shigaraki let him joined the League, Shigaraki answered his question with the horizon, and Shigaraki promised to destroy everything and let the League lived as they saw fit.
Shigaraki accepted him, listened to him, fought for him. Of course Shigaraki was his hero.
*
Meanwhile. Deku. while still not showing much emotions and we still have no access to his thoughts, is still listening. In fact, he accepts Spinner's words and feelings completely.
Spinner hulks out, and the doctor becomes concerned. It's not written up there in the scanlation, but the doctor calls for control. He looks like he's gripping something - a walkie talkie? Some other kind of device? The doctor is concerned for Spinner's health, of course, but I think he was also ready to call for backup. To bring Spinner back under control, to restrain him. What you do to unruly people, dangerous people. What you do to villains and monsters.
But Deku stops the doctor. Deku wordlessly says a clear 'No' to bringing Spinner back under control, whether by Spinner's own will or by external methods. Deku allows Spinner to fully express himself - to even grab him from his chair with giant hands.
Consider this. You're a Hero in training. You're meeting a Villain to tell him his boss' last words. The boss you killed. This Villain has multiple quirks, attacked a hospital, still lost the battle, and now glares nonstop at you. The first thing the Villain says is to call you a murderer. You meet with him anyway. There is no one in the room with you except the doctor. (Police presence is strangely missing.)
Spinner hulks out and lunges at Deku and wraps his giant hands around Deku's puny torso - but Deku allows it, not dodging, not shouting for Spinner to stop, not breaking out of the hold. Spinner, in his anger, can surely crush him, but Deku allows him this.
Obviously it's Deku being cool and stoic and very tolerant here, but I think it's also him accepting that Spinner's anger at him is justified. Just like he's not denying Spinner calling him a murderer, he's not stopping Spinner's emotions and actions, even. And the whole time, he's still listening.
I don't know if I would go so far as to say he even trusts Spinner to not harm him, but there is an element of trust in this.
This is high praise from me, noted Deku-hater. But I want to think this is Deku having changed from his encounter with Shigaraki, with Toga. During his encounter with Toga, Deku opened his big mouth to tell her his perspective and that he can't understand her; with Shigaraki, he shouts mostly things like 'I can't let you do that!'; and while Shigaraki is extremely chatty with him, Deku never actually seems to be listening to the content (when we see his thoughts, it's mostly strategizing). Here, though, Deku's accepting Spinner however he acts. He's facing a Villain with no intention to stop him, even when threatened, because he's here to listen.
It's too late, but he's here to listen to Spinner talk about who Shigaraki Tomura was. Finally.

The spooky month is upon us!
But before I begin my plans for Halloween festivities, I'd like to introduce you all to last year's Halloween yokai! These are some the first fankai I ever made and post(so go easy on them. XP)
First up, the vampire nemesis, Dracula and Desperatu!
These boys are my interpretations of characters from Bram stokers world famous Gothic horror novel, Dracula!
The titular character has already been name dropped in yokai watch before, however he has not made an on-screen appearance. So I corrected that~!
Dracula is an S rank, drain attribute of the shady tribe, with the soultimate "blood moon blitz" where he transforms into a swarm of bats to drain his opponents vitality!
Now the other guy is a bit more inspired! Desperatu is a portmanteau of Desperado(a term often used in wild west stories) and Nosfuratu(another word for Vampire). This Gothic cowboy is the spirit of Quincy P. Morris, which if you've actually read Dracula, you'd know as the man who got the killing blow on old drac!
Being a walking representation of the state of Texas, I played up his already present cowboy influence, and made him a vampire-hunting, cowboy vampire!
Desperatu is an S rank yokai of the brave tribe. He's a Merican yokai, a fire attribute, and has the soultimate "high moon showdown!" Where he fires of six shots from each of his silver-bullet-loaded guns.
If I were to ever make a game, these guys would be the Kyubi/venoct, Arachnus/toadel dude equivalents.
With the vamps out of the way, here's a werewolf! Or should I say, Blairwolf!
By day a young girl named Blair akafudo is a sporty outdoorsman with some mild canine quirks. But by night she's the fierce and a strong Blairwolf!
Like Dracula, we know werewolves exist in yokai watch, we've just never seen them. Though there was an academy Y episode that had weredog/jinmenkin hybrids. Speaking of hybrids, Blair also has some inspiration from the Okuri Inu, a ghostly black dog with piercing red eyes.
But despite her fierce inspiration, she's more like a were-puppy than anything. She's loyal, fun-loving and very affectionate toward her friends!
Blairwolf is D rank, earth attribute of the charming tribe. Her soultimate is called "Lycan-throw" where she digs up a Boulder to throw at her unsuspecting opponents!
Moving on to the next of the big three monsters, time for Frankenstein!
Say hello to Adam Frankenstein, the famous monster from Mary Shelly's sci-fi horror novel! Along with his shadowside form, Krankenstein!
The two forms represent the juxtaposition between the Monster in the book, who was an intelligent, tragic figure abandoned by his creator for his imperfect eyes, from the monster in the movie, which was a hulking, mindless brute.
Adam is normally intelligent and reasonable, but... he has quite the explosive temper if you can get him angry.
In both forms, he is an A rank, lightning attribute of the Eerie tribe. In his lightside, his soultimate is "Charged Adam" which boosts his stats. While his shadowside's is called "ITS ALIVE!" which boosts the entire parties stats!
Next are a more generic monster, a redesign I made of yokai watch style Zombies!
While I love yokai watch 3 and think zombie night was a brilliant idea, I can't say I've always liked their basic Zombie designs. The core part of a Zombie that makes them scary is they still resemble a human, and the yokai watch ones do, just not enough.
So, I ended up making more humanish Zombie designs. You could interpret these ones as more recently deceased then the ones in Canon. Haven't had as much time to rot just yet!
Next up, the spirit of Halloween himself, Stingy Jack/Jack O'Lantern!
The spirit of the man who managed to trick the devil herself, now forced to wonder the earth by lanterns light. Everyone's heard of this pumpkin headed freak in some way or other, even if they don't know his story.
Jack here is a C rank of the shady tribe. A fire attribute with the soultimate "lose your head!" Where he used the alcohol swishing around in his pumpkin head to make it into a molotov cocktail, and throws it at the enemy!
This of course also acts as a self destruct soultimate, because he doesn't have a head after using it. XP
And finally, a yokai late to the batch, but still fitting the Halloween vibes! Here's Potianna!
Ending things off with a wicked witch, Potianna (potion+anna) was one of the best potion brewers of her time, before the witch hunts finally caught up with her.
Now as yokai, she's fused to her beloved cauldron and keeps up her prized work~!
Potianna is a C rank, water attribute of the charming tribe. Her soultimate is called "Brutal Brew" where she dumps her cauldron onto the enemy team, both dealing damage and giving them a random debuff.
She also has a unique skill, "Alchemy" which heals her up every time she's hit with her own element!
I hope you enjoy these Halloween yokai of yesteryear, and look forward to this year's festivities~!

Chapter 3/20
Chapter 3: The Rebel & The Old Man
Sweat poured down Joel’s back as he ran as fast as his legs would take him. He had been here before, he had run through the halls of Saint Mary’s hospital time and time again only to find Ellie’s corpse. Sometimes it was even Sarah. Either way, he was always too late. The feeling of loss, insurmountable and piercing, burying itself in his chest was usually what woke him up, but this time was different.
This time Joel had ripped open the door, breathless as he always was and filled with rage, only to find you. You, draped in a gown similar to the one Ellie had worn, except no open skull greeted him. They had put you out, and you laid on the cold table blissfully unaware of the firefly about to start picking at your brain. A fresh wave of panic hit Joel and made him stumble forward into the sterile room.
An all too familiar voice pulled him from his despair, “What are you doing here?”
Joel’s head snapped up, a low growl bubbled from the depths of his chest as he came face to face with the man that he wished he could kill twice. Perhaps sensing the bloodlust that had Joel practically frothing at mouth in front of him, the doctor turned away only to grab a scalpel from the surgical tray behind him.
The man held the scalpel out in front of himself, his hands shaking as he tried desperately to ward Joel off. As if that could hinder the hulking beast that clawed at the confines of Joel’s chest, screaming at him to rip the shaking man apart for even thinking that he could harm you. Pathetic really, Joel thought.
“I won’t let you take her. This is our future. Think of the liv-,” the blade that Joel had shoved through his throat cut the doctor off as he fell to the ground choking on his blood, eyes wheeling around the room as he retched and shook. Joel had heard the speech before, he didn’t need to hear it again with you in such a vulnerable position behind him.
Joel heard the nurses screaming as he moved towards you and began to pull the wires off of your frame, cradling you to his chest and breathing in your warmth.
“NO! YOU FUCKING ANIMAL!,” he heard one of them scream and it made him suppress the laugh that threatened to spill from his lips. An animal? You’re goddamn right I’m a fucking animal, Joel thought to himself as he pushed through the doors.
As he sprinted through the hospital, trying to dodge the fireflies at every corner, he spoke to you over the bullets whizzing past his head, “It’s okay darling, I’ve gotcha. I’m gonna protect you, I ain’t gonna let nothing happen to you omega.”
Joel turned the corner, fireflies hot on his heels and swallowing the bile that soured his mouth, only to find an open elevator. For a moment, he felt relief as he moved towards his goal. But then, just as he thought he might actually make it this time, Joel felt his limbs suddenly grow heavy.
“No, no, no, no…,” Joel cried out as his pace slowed, his voice breaking as tears began to blur his vision, his legs feeling as if they had been filled with cement.
Joel turned towards his pursuers, suddenly feeling the sickening sting of deja vu as he began to plead for your life. He knew it wouldn’t matter to them, just as it didn’t matter twenty four years earlier when the soldier had killed Sarah. It didn’t stop Joel from crying out, desperately begging for them to spare you. They shot anyway.
-
Gasping, Joel shot off the couch like a bat out of hell. He whipped his head around the room, disoriented and unsure where he was for a moment. His chest felt tight and as he stood in the living room getting his bearings, he worried for a moment that he was having a heart attack. No, Joel decided, assholes like him didn’t get off that easy.
Finally catching his breath, the pounding in his head left little black dots in his vision as Joel was greeted with the aroma that crept down the hall from his bedroom. He swayed on his feet as it beckoned him closer. Groaning, Joel scrubbed the tears from his eyes as he lowered himself back down on the now sweat soaked couch.
What the fuck was he going to do? What had he already done? He shouldn’t have talked to you like that, shouldn’t have let you stay, shouldn’t have pulled you into his lap and let you scent him, he shouldn’t have basked in the feeling of an omega rubbing themselves all over him as he willed himself not to pop his knot like he was a fucking teenager. What the fuck was he thinking? Gritting his teeth, Joel shoved the heels of his hands into his eye sockets as he tried to wade through the shame that filled his being. A shame that was almost like an old friend, one that Joel had grown accustomed to, comfortable even. This process was made incredibly difficult with the delicious smell that had him lifting his nose, a smell that reached into his aching chest to sink its hooks into his lungs and pull him to his feet.
Fighting against his own nature every step of the way, Joel trudged towards the bedroom. He tried to reason with himself as he moved to open the door, trying desperately to remain in the comfort of his own torment. You were probably sleeping and plus, being the creepy old guy that watched young women sleep is not a good look he tried desperately to hammer into his brain. It was no use and Joel crept into the room as quietly as he could, mouth watering as he gulped down the warm air.
And there you were, even breaths soothing the sting of loss that plagued him and replacing it with something new. Joel felt a deep sense of purpose slam into him, his movements not even registering as he saw you shiver atop of the blankets. Joel carefully lifted you from the soft mattress, your hand coming up to grasp two of his fingers in a loose fist. Pulling off the covers, Joel laid you back down, allowing you to keep holding him as he fussed with the pillow behind your head for a moment before he was satisfied. The need to provide sated, Joel moved towards the door feeling as though he might fall asleep before he even reached the couch.
This plan was thwarted as the loose grasp on his fingers tightened, holding him hostage. Joel stood over you a moment, unsure of what to do. Yes, Joel could pull his fingers from your grasp easily, yet he hesitated. Looking down at you sleeping, Joel suddenly felt greedy. He needed to stay, to make sure you slept well, to make sure you didn’t need anything, and how dare he think of doing something that might disturb your sleep? Joel sighed, coming to the realization that fighting off the overwhelming urge to satiate your every need was like fighting with the wind.
Letting his own instincts overwhelm him, Joel dropped to his knees along the bedside and covered your hand in his. Ignoring the ache that already bit at the muscles in his legs, Joel laid his chin on the mattress and watched you through tired eyes. The feeling that Joel felt as he looked at you in that moment was indescribable, like someone had found a way to pump ativan into the air he breathed. Feeling his heart rate slow and tense muscles finally ease, Joel drifted off at your bedside.
- You -
A breeze woke you from a dreamless sleep, your hair tickling your nose as air bristled through the strands. You hummed, moving to stretch your arms over your head before you felt a warm weight covering one of your hands. Your eyes snapped open, gasping as you found a beautiful yet confusing sight.
Joel slept at your bedside, leaned forward on his knees with his face almost meeting yours on the pillow. One hand covered your own, a layer of sweat forming between you, while he used the other for a pillow under his pink cheek. His breath puffed out from his lips, fanning out over your face and making you smile. He looked so peaceful like this, almost childlike with the lines on his face soothed by rest.
You reached out a hand, tentatively smoothing down the curls that had flopped over his forehead and cupping his whiskered cheek. Joel made a small noise, nose twitching for a moment before he settled back into his slumber. You wondered if he knew how striking he was and you longed to wake him so that you could tell him, but you decided against it.
Suddenly feeling how parched you were, you took him in once more, memorizing his beauty before you eased your hand out from under his. Joel’s fingers twitched momentarily, as if annoyed by your departure, and you waited until he settled before you crept off the bed and out of the room.
Shivers shook your frame as you moved into the living room, the floors biting unforgivingly at your feet. It was so much warmer in the room with Joel, heat seemed to radiate from his large frame and cover you like a blanket. Ignoring the urge to go back into the cocoon of his company, you drifted into the kitchen and pilfered through the fridge before finding a water bottle. Tearing off the lid, you tilted your head and let the cold water slide down your throat.
Thirst quenched, you decided to poke around some more. Curiosity killed the Christian, you remembered hearing Josiah say when you had questioned his teachings once. You laugh quietly, remembering how Rachel shot her mate a sharp look as she had sucked her teeth at that. Miriam had pulled you aside after that bible study, your arm smarting from the surprising strength the small woman had used to yank you into a corner. You remember Miriam telling you not to listen to him, that you came from a people that asked questions about everything. Before you could ask what she meant your mother had snatched you from Miriam’s grasp, sending an icy glare her way.
“Do not fill her head with your own beliefs,” your mother had spat, twisting your wrist in her grasp as you winced.
Miriam opened and closed her mouth, softening her gaze as she looked between you and your mother before she spoke.
“But her father…,” she sighed before continuing, “She has a right to know about her own people, he wouldn’t have wanted his daughter -”
“Do not think to speak to me about what Abe wanted, you have no right,” your mother had replied, her voice now cold.
You watched as Rachel moved towards her mate, smelling the anguish that was souring Miriam’s scent as she stood in front of your mother. Arm wrapping around her waist, she accessed the situation before asking if everything was okay.
“Fine,” your mother had said, her voice dripping with sarcasm before she stepped towards Miriam threateningly.
Lowering her voice she practically growled at the older omega, placing her body in front of you in a show of protectiveness you didn’t even know she was capable of.
“I would like to remind you of the situation you are in, with your… history. Do you think he would forgive you if that got out? That he would just let it go?”
Miriam’s head snapped up, her eyes widening in fear as your mother snarled at her.
“Do you think that my daughter is protected because of me? That he would let it go if he knew?,” a bitter laugh left your mother’s thin lips before she continued on, “No. She would end up like the rest. So the next time you want to be valiant and teach MY pup something out of some misplaced loyalty to her father, I would like to remind you that Abe would have wanted her ALIVE.”
After that incident your mother had locked you inside for nearly a month, not even allowing you out to go to bible study. Punishment, she had told Josiah, for being too nosy about sinful things. He hadn’t questioned it, seemingly thrilled at your mother’s show of righteousness. Annoyed, and confused as to what had passed between Miriam and your mother, you had swallowed your protests and scrubbed every inch of the house while mulling over what Josiah had said.
You decided that you agreed with Miriam, even though you couldn’t grasp what she had meant by YOUR people. You would have to swallow your curiosity for the foreseeable future. You resigned yourself to silence, but not compliance. You would not ask Josiah where he put the books he had confiscated from Jake’s aunt, books that had her locked in the pit for two weeks, rather you would wait until he looked the other way before snatching them from the burn pile. Sliding two of them under your thick sweater, you had feigned a sudden burst of nausea so that you could run home and shove them underneath the floorboards in your room, where they would stay until Jake could collect them.
Sneaking around had become a second nature to you, and you were comforted by the habit as you tiptoed throughout the cabin, softly opening drawers and sifting through the contents. There wasn’t much, a few fishing flies, a couple of comic books from a series called Savage Starlight shoved under the extra blankets in the linen closet, a few guitar picks here and there, nothing that out of place. That was until you reached the side table next to the couch. Kneeling down and easing the drawer open, you were greeted with pictures.
The first was of a younger Joel, maybe mid twenties, smiling next to a younger man dressed sharply in a military uniform. The younger man is handsome, with his black curls slicked back and an easy smile on his face as he jokingly saluted the camera, but not quite as handsome as the man that stands at his side, sticking his thumb out in the younger man’s direction as if to say get a load of this guy. It dawned on you that the younger man is Joel’s brother, had to be, as your eyes bounced between the two faces frozen in the picture. You flipped the picture, reading the loopy cursive writing on the back.
Tommy’s Basic Training graduation, look at my handsome boys!
You smiled, placing the picture on the side table before grabbing the next one. The next one showed two young boys, the older one undoubtedly Joel as his puppy dog eyes stared back at you. You suppressed a giggle as you took in his cowboy costume, Joel’s thumbs hooked into his belt loops, and a fake scowl on his face like a true gunslinger. His brother, Tommy you remember, stood next to him dressed like a vampire as he sobbed at the camera. A man with Joel’s eyes and nose was crouched in between them with his arms around their shoulders, a vein popping out of his forehead from how hard he was laughing. Curious once more, you flipped the picture.
After weeks of begging, Tommy decided he wanted to be a cowboy, maybe next year we should get two of whatever Joel wants - haha!
You laughed at that, placing the picture atop the other one before digging out the last one. You stilled as your eyes scanned the glossy paper, the bitter feeling of guilt swirling in your gut. You shouldn’t be doing this, shouldn’t be going through Joel’s stuff when he has already done so much for you, you should put the pictures back and forget about them. But you don’t. You sit there and look at a younger Joel, smiling easily as his large hand covers the eyes of a curly haired young girl. One of her hands covers his, clearly trying and failing to pull his hand off as she laughed at his antics. You shakily flipped the photo, bile rising from your churning stomach as you read the back of the last photo.
Joel and Sarah Miller - 2002
Guilt filled you as you read the words over and over. It was his daughter, you knew that for sure as you saw the shape of his lips and his dimples mirrored onto the girl’s face. You felt like you had been punched, your heart shattering for Joel. He had lost his pup? A small whine left your lips as you turned the picture around. Poor Joel, poor alpha.
“What the fuck are you doing?,” a gruff voice snapped, breaking you from your pity.
You froze, a feeling of dread making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Sighing, you looked up at the dark figure standing in the doorway. Joel’s hair was a mess, curls matted against his face on one side and standing straight up on the other like he had been electrocuted. His cheeks lined from the sheets and eyes slightly watery, you watched as Joel went from groggy to alert in seconds as he took in the scene before him.
So many emotions flickered on his face. Confusion, surprise, sadness, before finally landing on anger. Squaring his shoulders, Joel stomped over to you, snatching the pictures from you before he shoved them back into the drawer. Slamming it shut, Joel flared his nostrils as he looked down at you in a sullen silence.
“I-I…Joel, I am so fucking sorry. I shouldn’t have gone through your stuff, I didn’t… I’m sorry,” you said, eyes pleading as you looked up at his face while his hands clenched and unclenched at his sides.
The glare Joel gave you felt like a knife through your heart. You couldn’t even stop the whimper you let out as he narrowed his eyes before letting out a venomous, “Don’t.”
Joel turned from you then and picked up his jacket from the hook near the door, shoving his arms into the sleeves aggressively. Grumbling to himself, he worked on lacing up his boots as you trailed behind him anxiously.
“Joel, I didn’t mean to. Please, don’t go, it’s not even light out yet. Just wait a few hours until sunrise. I’m sorry, I’m so fucking sor-,” he cut you off with just a look and tears began to spill down your cheeks as he pushed past you, slamming the door on the way out.
Silence hits you like a freight train, a bitter feeling of loneliness drawing a loud sob from you. Sinking down to your hands and knees as your cries echoed off the walls of the empty cabin, you felt like you had just lost a limb. You flopped forward onto the cold ground, curling up into a ball as hot tears ran down your cheeks, filling your open mouth as you wailed.
- Joel -
Betrayal.
There’s no other words for what Joel felt in this moment. He felt betrayed by you. It wasn’t the fact that you had gone through his things, he almost expected that. You’d be stupid not to make sure he didn’t have a closet full of skin suits or something creepy like that. Joel had expected a certain level of snooping. It wasn’t that you had found his pictures either. He did feel slightly uncomfortable seeing you hold a picture of his dead daughter, feeling like he should have told you for a moment before shaking himself out of his reverie. He had to remind himself that didn’t know you like that, you weren’t his.
None of that had bothered Joel, which was surprising to him. No, what had bothered him was the way that you had looked at him. Pity had drawn your features in tight, regarding Joel like he was a kicked puppy. It had shocked him, anger boiling his blood as he watched you looking at him like he was helpless. How dare you? He wasn’t helpless, he was perfectly fine, fuck you for making him feel that way.
Joel walked through the twilight, the sun teasing the dark sky with its presence as he growled to himself. He didn’t know where he was going, he just needed to get away from you before he said something he would regret or worse, before he broke down in tears. He couldn’t do that, that would just serve as proof that what you thought about him was true. Helpless, he thought as he angrily kicked the rocks beneath his feet.
Maybe Joel was overreacting, he knew that, but the look you had given him seemed to solidify what he already knew. That he was incapable of doing… literally anything he was supposed to do. You knew that Sarah had died now, proving that he was a bad alpha, a bad protector. Imagine how much worse it would be if you found out about Ellie. He groaned, imagining how his already bruised dignity would be squashed under your pitiful glance. Joel tore at his hair for a moment before continuing to weave through the trees, stopping as he came to the river.
The roar of the river distracted him for a moment, watching as the water swelled over the banks, lifting the plants that resided there for a moment before rushing downstream. Joel took a breath, coming back to himself as his heart slowed. His eyes moved over to the spot he had found you, now covered with the swollen stream. It must have rained last night. Fuck, what would have happened if he hadn’t have found you? You would have froze to death. The thought made his heart leap into his throat. He cussed softly as a guilt twisted his intestines, he shouldn’t have been that hard on you.
Pity or not, you were right. Joel was helpless, he was incapable. Why the fuck else would he be all the way out here? Yeah, you had gone through his things but he was the one that left the photos face up in the drawer for you to find. He hadn’t even put them somewhere more intimate, like a nightstand, he had left proof of his past in the living room. You could’ve stumbled upon it looking for a pencil or a bookmark. Swallowing his feelings of betrayal, Joel steeled himself before turning back towards the forest, deciding that he would check the traps before heading back to his om - to you.
-
Joel stopped at the door, sighing to himself as he debated on turning back towards the treeline. No, he decided, he had to face this. You were going to be here a long time and if he wanted it to be bearable, he would have to bury the hatchet. Brushing off the dirt from his pants, Joel sucked his teeth for a moment before making his way inside.
Stumbling back, Joel gagged as the smell of the room slapped him in the face. Your soothing aroma smelled burnt and rotten, the stagnant air making him panic as his eyes scanned the room. Where the fuck were you?
“Darling?,” he called out, nothing but silence answering him as his voice bounced off the walls.
Fear shot through him as he tore through the cabin, checking every room before practically ripping the bedroom door off of its hinges. Joel stomped into the room, his breaths coming out faster now with you seemingly gone. Fuck, you must’ve have run off, oh my fucking god no, no, no, no. It’s too cold, you don’t have any food, what if you get hurt? He was bad, he made you leave him, he needed to find you, he needed -
Joel’s ears pricked up, catching a small whine that pulled him from the panic attack he was about to have. Running over to the closet door, he flung it open, looking down and being met with the sight of you curled up on a pile of clothes you must have pulled from his hamper. You were faced away from him, hugging yourself as shaky breaths made their way up your throat.
“Oh sweet girl,” Joel said mournfully, feeling like an asshole as he reached out to turn you towards him.
Another whine, stronger this time, left your lips as you shoved weakly at his grasp. Joel let out a low growl and your protests stopped, resigning yourself as he pulled you from the closet and walked you over to the bed. Groaning as his knees popped and cursing himself for falling asleep the way he had earlier, Joel positioned himself against the headboard with you in his lap.
You were completely limp, the only sign of life being the shiver you let out as Joel began to rub circles into your back. Guilt sliced through his chest as he tried to pull you from this state, moving his other hand to your hair to scritch at your scalp as he had last night. He knew that he had fucked up. Why had he left you like that? Only Joel would be stupid enough to let you cry it out on your own, stupid alpha, bad alpha, fuck, fuck, fuck -, your voice pulled him from his self hatred.
“I’m sorry alpha,” you whispered into his skin, a fresh wave of cries wracking your body.
Joel sighed, swallowing his pride before pulling your face from his shoulder. He took your chin in his hands, forcing your reddened eyes to meet his. He saw guilt, the same that he felt now, reflected on your wet face and it made him want to scream.
“S’okay darling, it - I mean…,” he stopped for a moment before continuing, “I just wasn’t expecting it sweet girl, I overreacted. I’m the one that should be sorry.”
Confusion flashed in your eyes as you studied him, shaking your head at his words as they left his mouth.
“No, it IS my fault. You let me in, gave me food, a place to sleep, and I went through your things. I’m sorry I just thought -,” you froze, pulling your face from his hands and sitting back.
Joel reached forward to grab your chin, making you look at him once more. It frustrated him that you always seemed to find a way to avoid his gaze.
“What baby? What did you think?,” Joel blurted out, ignoring the way the nickname made you look at him.
“When I was with my group I-I… I used to snoop through my stepdad’s things to try and figure out what he was up to, or sometimes I would go through the stuff they took for review in the chapel. I know it was wrong, but I… I don’t know, they wouldn’t tell me anything about… well literally anything, and after they started keeping me apart from everyone -,” you stopped as Joel cut in.
“Review? What do you mean by that?,” Joel said, his face now serious.
You shrunk under his gaze and Joel made himself relax. He tried to keep the possessiveness that tensed his muscles and made him want to bare his teeth at whoever had hurt you. You watched Joel’s hand moved up your shirt, thumb starting to rub circles on your bare skin. He waited for you to push him away but instead he felt as you melted into him again.
Sighing, you looked back up at him before starting over, “When a book or anything else was sinful er… when Josiah thought it was at least, he would take it for review. If it was found guilty of heresy, then whatever it was would be burned. But I um… well I know it’s not right, but I used to steal it back if I could or sometimes I would sneak out with Jake or I would steal food from the meal hall and bring it to whoever was in the pit.”
An uneasy feeling prickled along Joel’s spine, his instincts alerting him of his omega in danger. His omega? Fuck it, there are more important things to worry about right now, he thought as he winced at your words.
Joel had experience with these types of groups, the religious types were always a bit more insidious than the others he had encountered. Desperate people taken under the wing of a twisted mind, using religion to keep themselves powerful. A brief memory flashed through his mind of David and of what he had almost done to Ellie. He went cold.
“What did they… Did they ever put you in the pit?,” Joel asked carefully as he moved his free hand up to cup the back of your neck, digging his fingers into your sensitive skin and practically forcing your body to remain calm.
You blinked and looked up at him with faraway eyes before you said, “Once. Only once. It only lasted a couple of weeks, or maybe it was months I don’t know… And then they were all dead and I was free.”
Joel had so many questions that he wanted to ask but he refrained. He recognized that faraway look that you were giving him, he had used that mask for years but he didn’t like the way it looked on you. Wracking his brain, Joel tried to think of a way to bring you back to him.
“What was the best thing you ever stole?,” he blurted out, cringing at the question.
Joel was surprised as he was met with nothing but laughter from you. Your body shook in his grasp as you threw your head back and a snort forced its way out of your nose. Joel joined, his laughter mixing with yours and warming the room. Wiping your eyes, you caught your breath and looked at him affectionately.
“I uh,” you laughed again before starting over, “I stole a bottle of whiskey that had been confiscated. Then I snuck out with Jake, his boyfriend, and a few other teenagers that they knew. We demolished the bottle and then went skinny dipping, which… I don’t even want to think about what would have happened if they found out, but it was fun. We got away with it… I mean we sorta did. I definitely didn’t escape the headache, but no siestas at the pit for anyone.”
Joel laughed at your story, soothed as the happy memory seemed to pull you back from the depths of whatever hell you had made for yourself in your mind. He brushed a stray tear from your cheek, relieved that it was from laughter rather than sadness.
“S’that right? Didn’t know I had a rebel living with me, thought you were a good girl,” he tsked, playfulness dancing in his eyes.
You gasped slightly, batting your eyelashes up at him before playing with the collar of his coat as you said, “I’m a lot of things alpha.”
Joel gritted his teeth as a moan threatened to expose him. His cock gave a hard twitch in his pants, your scent suddenly overwhelming him as you mindlessly shifted in his lap. The hand he had on your bare hip moved to the small of your back. He felt the softness of your skin before pushing you forward without even thinking. Joel didn’t even register your gasp, your scent wiping his mind of any thought as his hardening dick now rubbed against you. He moved his face towards your neck, fighting the urge to bite down as he gave you a feverish kiss on your gland. Joel’s tongue darted out to taste you, eyes rolling into the back of his head at the taste as he felt you grind yourself needily against him.
It was the high pitched moan that pulled Joel from his indulgence. He stopped in his tracks and you whined, trying to keep his face in the crook of your neck as he moved back. He looked back up at you. You looked fucked out already with your eyes hazy and cheeks hot with lust. Your breathing was as erratic as his as you tried desperately to rub yourself against his aching cock. Groaning, Joel stopped your movements.
“Darling I - we can’t. I know you think you want this, but you don’t. You probably ain’t ever been in close confines with an alpha before, and we… this can’t happen. You don’t want an old man like me and I ain’t about to take advantage,” Joel said through gritted teeth, fighting desperately to remain focused with your chest heaving in front of his face.
The whine you let out almost broke him, it clawed at every ounce of self control that he had but he held strong.
“You wouldn’t be taking advant-,” you cried, trying to weasel out of his ironclad grip on your hips so you could rub your sweet pussy all over him.
He cut you off before you could break him.
“I would be taking advantage. PLEASE baby, we can’t. It ain’t you, okay? Pretty girl like you, it could never be you. S’all me, ya hear?,” Joel said, practically begging you to relent before he snapped and fucked you into the mattress.
You stopped your motions, looking up at him curiously. You sighed, looking a little disappointed and very riled up, but you finally relented.
Joel was surprised as you swung your legs off of him and scooched off the bed. You moved towards the bathroom, leaving him on the bed with a prominent bulge pressing against his zipper and his mouth opening and closing like a fish. You turned, an innocent smile gracing your soft features as you looked back at him.
“Okay well, let me know when you change your mind,” you said simply, turning into the bathroom and shutting the door behind you.
Joel sat there for a moment in silence, his dick painfully hard and leaking at this point as he tried to figure out whether or not that had actually just happened. He heard the sound of the shower being turned on and you easing the curtain back to step under the stream. A fantasy flashed through his mind of him barging into the bathroom, of him stepping into the shower and falling to his knees, of him burying his face into your tight cunt and devouring you, of him lifting you up and spearing you on his cock, of him drilling you into the shower wall until you screamed and tightened around him. Joel palmed his length, shaking his head as he looked at the bathroom door.
“I am so fucked.”

Caught In A Web ~ 20
CAUGHT IN A WEB MASTERLIST
< previous chapter
Word Count: 1,728ish
Summary: The rescue goes wrong.
Notes: Hope you guys enjoy it! I would love to hear from you!
“Rumlow.”
“Hello, Soldier,” Rumlow smirked. “Seems you have a new team member.” Rumlow squeezed your wrists together with one hand as the other place a knife against your throat. “She’s pretty.”
“Get your hands off of her!” Tony tried to sound strong, but was failing.
“Oh, seems I’ve hit a nerve. Guess I should have kidnapped you, sweetheart.” Rumlow’s lips brushed your ear as he spoke. You clenched your eyes shut, trying not to cry. Rumlow’s eyes caught sight of Bucky’s hand as the soldier tried to grab his gun. “Don’t think about it, Barnes.” He pressed the cold blade into your neck more. “Or she dies right here.” Bucky’s jaw clenched as he moved his hand away from his gun. “Good boy. Now, I’m going to escape and I’m taking the girl with me. Try to stop me and I’ll kill her.”
Rumlow tugged you back, still holding a knife to your throat. You opened your eyes and met Tony’s. Both of you were terrified, but neither of you could do anything. All either of you could do was keep eye contact until you couldn’t anymore.
“STEVE!” Bucky roared over the comms. “It’s Rumlow. He has Y/N. Trying to escape. We need everyone.”
“Hulk,” Sam called, “find our entrance, head south. The Wakandans will meet you there to get Tony.”
“You’re crazy to think that I’ll leave without Y/N!” Tony exclaimed.
“You’re no help right now. We have the whole Team here. Let us take care of it.”
“Steve and the other are taking different routes,” Bucky informed. “Sam and I will follow the route and hopefully can corner Rumlow and free Y/N. We will get her, Tony. Hulk, go, now.”
The Hulk ran off while Sam and Bucky headed after you and Rumlow.
~~~
You needed to get out of the situation you were in before it was too late. You knew that the Team wouldn’t allow anything to happen to you if they could help it and that they were most likely forming a planning if they hadn’t already. That still didn’t take away the fact that this man, Rumlow, was holding a knife against your throat.
“You’re being such a good girl,” Rumlow purred in your ear as he continued to drag you away. “Maybe I let myself have some fun with you.” You stayed silent, almost stunned with the whole situation. “You’re a quiet one. I can get behind that.”
Rumlow continued to guide you down the hallways to where there were some escape submarines. You suddenly had the need to scratch at your ear but before you knew it someone was talking to you.
“Hey, Y/N, it’s Scott,” he whispered. “I’m latched onto your ear. The Team has a plan, just go with it. I’m going to stay on your right while Hope is headed to your left.” You gave the tiniest of nods. “The Team is in position.”
You couldn’t help but hold your breath a little. Steve emerged from the shadows as did other Team members. Rumlow and yourself were suddenly surrounded. The knife against your throat pressed harder, drawing blood.
“What did I say, try to stop me and I’ll kill her,” Rumlow stated.
“Drop the knife, Rumlow,” Steve demanded.
“Not a chance. Even if you kill me, you’ll still have one of your own dead.”
“Steve…” you couldn’t help but whimper. You were frightened, but grateful that Tony wasn’t here to witness it.
“Oh, she’s crying now,” Rumlow taunted as tears fell down your cheeks. “Poor, sweet babygirl. Let’s end your suffering.”
“Now!” Steve shouted.
The knife was quickly shoved away by an unseen force. T’Challa, Steve, and Bucky lunged for Rumlow, but not before you suddenly kicked back and pushed him away from you. You spun around and kicked him again, this time against the wall. Everyone stopped to watch what was happening, ready to jump in if needed. With a simple fling of your wrists, Rumlow’s hands were pinned with webs. Quickly after, you pinned his feet to the wall with webs.
“Look who’s finally grown a pair,” taunted Rumlow. A web flung across his neck, sticking to the wall. “You have a secret feisty side. Maybe I—“ You shut him up by launching webs over his mouth.
“Don’t ever try to hurt those I love again,” you threatened, a surge of confidence going through you. Turning away from the evil man, you were breathing heavily. Everyone was looking at you with a mix of pride and shock.
T’Challa was the first one to step up. “You did good, Y/N,” he praised.
“Thanks,” you responded with a nod. You winced, a pain at the front your neck. Your gloved hand came up and touched it. Pulling away, you saw the blood.
“We need to get you out of here,” Steve stated.
“Are you okay to walk?” Bucky asked, stepping up to help if needed.
“I think I’m— woah…” You had taken a step but the adrenaline was leaving your body, making you week. Bucky was quick to catch you and hoisted you up into his arms. “Thanks.”
“Barnes and I will take Y/N to Wakanda,” T’Challa stated.
“Sounds good,” Steve replied. “The rest of us will clear the place and handle Rumlow.”
Bucky, with you in his arms, and T’Challa headed to the jets. The three of you stayed quiet until you remembered Tony.
“Where’s Tony?” You asked.
“Hulk and him are on their way to Wakanda,” answered T’Challa. “We will meet them there.”
“Okay… is any one else freezing?”
Bucky’s steps faltered. “What?”
“I’m freezing… and I’m getting sleepy.”
“Captain,” T’Challa called over the comms. “Check Rumlow’s knife for poison.” As you tried to stay awake, the men waited anxiously for Steve’s response. “We’re rushing her to Wakanda. Now.”
Bucky began running, but it didn’t phase you. You were struggling to stay awake. As soon as the three of you got to one of the jets, the jet started to pilot itself. T’Challa and Bucky quickly got you onto a cot. Everything became hazy. You knew that the men were talking to each other and to you, you just couldn’t understand anything.
“Y/N! Y/N!” Bucky was panicking. “Stay with us!” He was feeling helpless as T’Challa rushed around, grabbing items to use. “What can I do?”
“Just stay with her,” T’Challa responded. “I’ll do what I can.” He began to place Wakandan medical devices on you, hoping that anything would help.
“I should have known that knife was poisoned… I should have known…”
“It’s not your fault, Barnes.”
“I was trained better than this. I know better.”
“Barnes.” Bucky’s eyes snapped up to T’Challa’s. “The poison is not your fault. All we can do now is keep her calm and get her to Wakanda. Shuri will be ready to receive her as soon as we land.”
“She’s becoming a sister to me… I hate it.”
T’Challa couldn’t help but laugh. “A sister isn’t too bad.”
“I know. I had a sister. Her name was Rebecca… Y/N reminds me of her in a lot of ways.” You let out a whine and Bucky was quick to put a hand on your head, trying to soothe you. “Tony told us that Y/N doesn’t have any family. She is all on her own—well, was. None of us will let anything happen to her.”
“I don’t doubt it… I heard that Stark has changed.”
Bucky chuckled. “He’s still Stark, but yeah. Y/N’s done wonders for him and he for her. They’re perfect together. But everyone has enjoyed having her around and we’d really like to keep it that way.”
~~~
Tony was awake, sitting up in a bed when the Wakandans rushed toward the landing pad. He tried to see what was happening because the only thing he could think of was that it was one of his teammates.
“What’s going on?” He asked one of the guards with him.
“King T’Challa requested medical help as soon as he landed,” the Dora responded.
“Who for?” Tony’s stats began to rise with worry. The Dora stayed silent. “Who for?” A cot was rolled of of the jet, with T’Challa and Bucky at its sides. Tony tried to stand up to see who was on it.
The Dora was quickly next to him, pinning him to the bed. “You must stay down.”
“I need to see who it is!” He tried to fight the warrior, but was failing and quickly draining his own energy. “I need to—“ The cot was rushed passed and Tony’s words caught in his mouth. It was you. Tony felt like his whole world was crashing down. “No. No! Y/N!” He tried to fight against the Dora more. “Y/N!”
~~~
Shuri took you into a private room, living T’Challa and Bucky standing outside. She promised to take care of you and Bucky knew that Shuri would try her best from personal experience. A familiar voice shouting had the men turning around. Not too far away, in a glass room, Tony was shouting and trying to fight off one of the Dora Milaje. The men rushed to the room.
“Stark!” Bucky called, quickly pinning him down.
“It’s Y/N!” Tony cried. “I need to be with her!”
“You need to calm down, Stark,” said T’Challa.
“I need to be with her!”
T’Challa quickly went to the IV Tony was connected to and added more medicine. Tony quickly grew weaker.
“Y/N… No… Not my Y/N…” he whimpered until he passed out.
Bucky let go of the man and looked up at the ceiling, trying not to cry. He then looked around. “Where’s Bruce?”
“The Hulk is in the fields,” the Dora Milaje replied. “He ran off as soon as Mr. Stark was in the Princess’ care. We are tracking him but he has not changed back to Dr. Banner.”
“Miss Romanoff will try as soon as she arrives,” T’Challa said. “You are free to go. We’ve got Stark from here.”
The Dora saluted to T’Challa before taking her leave. The beads on T’Challa’s wrist beeped and then a hologram message appeared.
“The rest of the Team is on their way,” said T’Challa. “The building was cleared and is destroyed. They have Rumlow in their custody.”
“Good,” Bucky nodded. “Hopefully Shuri will have some news by then.”
how Empire of Death failed to mimic the scale of Infinity War, and what I would do differently
I'm just ranting here bc I had the thoughts and realised they were gonna go on too long for the tags of a reblog.
So I've already mentioned that the sand of death should have been the cliffhanger. The Sutekh reveal was cool and metal af, but imagine if it had gone on juuust a little longer and the credit theme rolls in just as Kate turns to dust. Imagine how much harder that would hit!
We would sit with that final image for a whole week, letting the shock and excitement build, even if we know they'd never kill both Kate and Rose and this would all be reset, the shock of the scene would still be impactful because we have time for it to truly sink in and hit us fully.
But I think the real reason Infinity War's ending hit harder than this is because we had real stakes. Thanos had been an imposing presence through the whole movie, killing or overpowering beloved and powerful characters we'd grown to see as untouchable.
Those stakes started at the literal beginning of the episode. Loki, a beloved character, is killed. The Hulk, who had literally JUST gone toe to toe with a god, is thrown aside like a toy.
The stakes remained through the story, when Gamorrah is killed, then continue all the way to the end when Vision is sacrificed only for that sacrifice to mean nothing.
Then the snap happens, some of the most beloved characters die in a slow, carefully crafted series of scenes with phenomenal acting.
And then the movie ends. We're left to sit with that for however long it takes for the finale, and even if we know most of the characters will be back it hurts because that emotion and tension and buildup comes to that horrible conclusion and leaves us to sit with it.
I'm not saying Sutekh should have killed anyone to raise the stakes. I'm saying that there was absolutely zero build-up to him within TLoRS itself, and therefore we as viewers don't truly know the stakes. The "He Who Waits" stuff was good to show us "hey, all these other gods are peanuts compared to this one", but that's about all we got.
And it's frustrating because not only has Doctor Who done this kind of high-stakes villain reveal and cliffhanger before in a much more effective way, but also IT WAS RUSSEL WHO DID IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
I firmly believe the finale should have been in three parts, not two.
I don't know if this is strictly Russel's fault or if Disney's restrictions were partly to blame, but let's look at how the Series 3 (2007) finale did what the Season 1 (2024) finale tried and failed to do.
Part One
Utopia plays out much like The Legend of Ruby Sunday does: they're exploring something self-contained but eventually related to the plot (end of the universe vs ruby's mother), they meet an enigmatic stranger who will later turn out to be the villain/part of the villain (Yana vs Triad), and the episode ends with the cliffhanger of them realising there's actually a Big Bad from the past that nobody was expecting (The Master vs Sutekh).
I think in the case of a 3 part episode I would have TLoRS end with Sutekh being revealed in a way that doesn't have him at his full power yet. I'm not sure exactly how I'd execute that but it would have the same impact w. Harbinger and Susan, only without Sutekh's full manifestation at the end; maybe he appears on the screens or in that smoky form around the TARDIS. Hell, maybe he would fully manifest but just be unable to dust the universe yet. I'd maybe even have him kill Kate and Unit there but not the world, to establish how powerful this guy is. I'd maybe have Ruby be with Mel instead of the Doctor, so that she's away from this initial death wave.
Part Two
The Sound of Drums then spends time establishing who the Master is for new viewers, and the kind of relationship he has with the Doctor. The stakes slowly build, any potential help is removed, and the Doctor's final plan is foiled, leaving him captured and powerless as the Master initiates the apocalypse.
Perhaps if instead of being with Susan, the Doctor tries to take back control of the TARDIS and ends up trapped with Sutekh controlling her?
Maybe they figure out how since Wild Blue Yonder, the TARDIS has specifically been taking them to places that would empower Sutekh with more death and chaos, rather than just where the Doctor needs to be -- the Maestro, Finetime, even Boom... all that death and chaos empowering Sutekh to finally take his god-form due to the invocation of superstition making his myth reality.
Maybe at this point it would show that the deaths in Unit were just the beginning -- that through those deaths Sutekh was able to reach back to the entire family line of each member he killed: Donna + family, even Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart had been killed before his time. This would establish in the Doctor some guilt that actually makes sense -- he didn't have to turn to Unit for help with Susan and Ruby's mother, but he did, and he didn't notice something was wrong with the TARDIS even though he'd been aware of her odd behaviour of late. He unwittingly brought Sutekh to UNIT and caused their deaths, sending that final ripple of chaos and death that allows Sutekh to take his final form. And now that he's gained enough power, he can coerce the TARDIS in giving her memory to him; of everywhere she's ever landed, past present and future.
The Doctor is forced to watch from the posessed TARDIS as first the Earth, then the Universe, is slowly destroyed, believing everything to be dead, including Ruby and Mel.
Part Three
In Last of the Time Lords, we focus on the Doctor's companions gathering hope and saving the world while the Doctor is helpless.
Unbeknownst to the Doctor, Ruby and Mel have made it back to UNIT. Maybe one of them remember how vivid the TARDIS seemed in the memory room and, in a last-ditch attempt to escape, try to enter it -- discovering the Memory TARDIS within.
This is why I have Ruby and Mel still reach the Memory TARDIS. Much like the companions do on their own in the Tales of the TARDIS clips I've seen, they realise this is a TARDIS made of memories and wonder if they can use that somehow. Ruby realises, as it begins to snow and the screens inside the ship turn on, that her strange memory power is keeping the TARDIS functional, and it shows them through the screens how to fly it.
Mel suggests this all seems to connect back to Ruby somehow, and the memory TARDIS responds positively. They start to go back through Ruby's memories in summary, trying to figure out what they're missing, and realise as her memories flick through on the screen -- one of them is unfamiliar. The Roger Ap Gwilliam realisation happens as normal, they go to find the medical record of Ruby's mum, Mel is fighting posession and decides to take HERSELF out of the room to "keep watch", knowing she won't be able to fight off Sutekh for long. Just as Ruby is about to find the name, she glances back at a noise behind her -- only to see Mel approaching her.
She just barely manages to grab the still-processing screen and escape, but now she's all alone and the screen has nothing to connect to. She never got her mother's name, but the records are still on there waiting to be processed. She realises Sutekh needs the records that are here, and that if Mel reaches her and gets the memory screen from her, she might get her mother's name and give it to him. She realises her only choice is to destroy the only records of her mother she has and accept she may never find her birth mother.
We have a tender moment of her with her face buried in her knees, crying amid the dust, she's all alone and she doesn't understand anything and she was so close but everything is ruined, it's like she's cursed -- she remembers her friends questioning her bad luck, wonders if maybe it was her all along and never the goblins. She wonders if the Doctor is alive, mourns that she can't turn to him, curses him for never finding out who her mum was sooner so they could avoid all of this, begs him to come back so he can tell her what to do because she has no idea who she is without someone to guide her.
Then remembers Carla. Maybe a flashback to something Carla said to her when she was younger; some motivational line about how she's not alone, she never has been; she's got a family even if it's not the one she expected. It doesn't matter where she comes from. It doesn't matter who her birth parents are. She has a real family to save, and that includes The Doctor. She pushes to her feet, still holding the screen, and returns to the memory TARDIS alone.
Meanwhile, the Doctor is being taunted by Sutekh. His only home; his safe place has been turned into a trap of torment and even as he tries desperately to gain some kind of control over her, Sutekh recites the losses and deaths the Doctor has caused. While he shows on the TARDIS screens all the places the sands of death have touched so far, he brings up Gallifrey, and the Flux, how Sutekh prides himself on being a god of Death but honestly he could never dream up something as destructive as the Doctor.
Just as the Doctor is about to give up, he sees Ruby, defiantly approaching Sutekh in the remains of UNIT's headquarters. His eyes gleam as he looks up to the bright red glow of his posessed ship's console, relief painted all over his face.
"I'm nothing like you," he says, even as he watches Ruby intensely; as worried as he is excited, "You exist to bring death and destruction and decay to this universe, but that's not me. Death and loss have followed me a long, long way but if there's one thing I have that you don't, it's hope."
Outside, Ruby is shouting and brandishing the memory screen. "Oi! You great big god of nothing! Is this what you want?"
She smashes it. Tough, she says. Sutekh roars and tears stream down her face. She's visibly terrified, but she stands tall.
"I was so confused," she tells him, "I kept thinking: why me? What's this got to do with me? But I think-.. I-I think I know why you're so interested in my mum. I think I know why I'm still alive."
She delivers a speech about what she's seen and learned from the Doctor: what survives of us is love. She realises that Sutekh is so interested in her mum because the one thing she feels deep in her gut is that her birth mother loves her, and the one thing he can't understand is love surviving despite grief. Ruby loves her mother despite never knowing her, Ruby loves her adopted family, Ruby loves the Doctor, and love is survival and love is life.
It starts to snow as she remembers everything she possibly can; every little gesture from people she loved and lost, every story she made up about her mum, every time Carla has been there for her, every time her friends have ditched parties to come stay with her overnight because she's staying in a hotel somewhere and she's scared to be alone. Sutekh roars and is clearly weakening but it's not quite enough, and the Doctor finally manages to break free of the TARDIS as Sutekh's hold on her weakens. He reaches for Ruby, cradles her in his arms as she runs to him, kisses her on the head and tells her how brave she is and how proud he is, then pulls her to the TARDIS console.
The ship immediately takes off, trying to shake off Sutekh while Sutekh tries to shake Ruby and the Doctor out of her. They're careening through the vortex, TARDIS doors stuck wide open, and the Doctor quickly slips a Mavity glove onto Ruby's hand, yanks off a panel of the TARDIS, and presses her hand to the psychic membrane underneath. He tells her to hold on for dear life and remember everything. The TARDIS amplifies her memories, feeds that love and life straight into Sutekh, and the Doctor gives one last speech about how humanity survives over and over despite their mortality, how human love is life, how Ruby is life. As Sutekh begins to break apart, we see people start to return from the dust.
As the story comes to a close, the Doctor apologises to Ruby. He suggests that maybe they could go forward and find that DNA result again, but Ruby declines. She says it's not fair to use something that was taken from her mum against her will as a tool to find her. She accepts that she might never find out who her birth mum is, but that's okay -- because she's realised her real family have been with her all along. The abandonment will never leave her, but after losing the whole world the only thing she wants right now is to see Carla again.
They part ways with Ruby cautioning the Doctor that maybe he should go find Susan some day. She must be feeling pretty abandoned too. And the episode ends basically the same way, only with Ruby making peace not knowing who her mum is -- meaning the mystery is left open for now in a more satisfying way.
I dunno. This got away from me a lil. I just think there's so many places this story could have been taken and it missed the mark in so many ways.
So I finished my Age of Ultron rewatch. It's been a couple of years since I last saw it, and here are some random thoughts I had on it:
Things I will maintain I like about this movie:
It has some of my favorite jokes in the MCU, and they're usually the little moments. The little nod of validation Rhodey makes after getting a laugh at his "Boom! You looking for this?" story. Clint telling Steve he's no match for Ultron and Steve replying with, "Thanks, Barton". Clint's "Yeah, you better run" after Pietro has long since disappeared with Wanda, there are loads of them.
I like Vision, Wanda and Pietro. Despite being secondary characters with not a huge amount of screen time, Wanda and Pietro feel like real people with real backstories, and Paul Bettany is wonderful the first time we see him as Vis.
It's the only movie we get to see the Original 6 hang out as friends.
I love that Fury randomly shows up in the middle and is like "let me make a sandwich while we discuss how not to let the world end also by the way hi Tony I really care about you"
Other casual appearances of other MCU characters, something that is so lacking Phase 4 onwards. Sam being at the party and Thor going to Selvig for help makes the world feel lived in.
RDJ's never dropped the ball as Tony but his performance really stuck out to me here, god he's good
Steve and Thor have multiple moments of teaming up and working together, what an underrated duo
Hulk vs Iron Man suit inside an Iron Man Suit fight
The Avengers do their best to evacuate Sokovia before Ultron attacks, which does not excuse the amount of damage caused there, but I do think is a plot point everyone forgets about (myself included)
And things that annoy me (skipping over the stuff everyone talks about like the Natasha/Bruce plot):
I hate how Joss Whedon writes Steve, both here and in Avengers. He only feels like Steve when he's being given jokes, otherwise he is so self-serious and stiff, the core of Steve is his heart and it is nowhere to be found in this movie
The movie spends so long setting up character arcs that feel promising and have no payoff. What is the point of Laura telling Clint the Avengers need him if he's going to retire at the end of the movie. Steve has several references to finding home in a way that doesn't go anywhere (Until Endgame, I guess). Don't get me started on Natasha.
It's trying so hard to have a theme but it never says anything unique. Bruce, Tony, Natasha and Vision all refer to themselves as monsters. Ultron decides that the Avengers are the bad guys. Steve has a speech all about proving they're not the monsters Ultron says they are. Based on WHAT? What is the message of this movie?? That the Avengers are better than the evil AI who wants to kill everyone?
(I half-feel there was a previous draft where Clint was their heart, or something, or he died and they were like whelp Phil Coulson 2.0 let's go avenge him, and the random pieces of that are still floating around the script with nowhere to go)
NO ONE is remotely concerned enough when their friends are getting hurt (maybe just the hurt/comfort lover in me, but still.) Natasha comes across as the only person who cares when Clint sustains a life-threatening injury. No one seems to be bothered that Natasha is being held captive by a psychotic supervillain. Tony shows more emotion over a fictional future where they die than when someone is actually in danger.
They really could have had a premise where they weren't allowed to access technology at all and could have gone retro with everything and they didn't and that just feels like a wasted opportunity. Clint and Natasha digging out old spy tech. Steve being like "Yes! This is familiar! I got this!" Tony making genius inventions out of tech from fifty years ago. Come on, it was right there.
About the TFRB x AEMH crossover, what do you think the Avengers would think of Priscilla? (Maybe also what they think of her being with Cody?)
Sorry I had to do some quick doodles for this ask. TAKE THEM, THEIR HORRIBLE!
If I'm allowed to use my hc that Simon is Priss dad, then this will be angsty. And if I don't use that idea, then it would still be angsty as Madeline could work as an antagonist for Tony because they work in similar fields but Madeline steals the products to claim them as hers..
I really don't know in which place of the timeline we would set this up if between seasons 2-3 or on season 4 after Madeline is arrested. But well 😋
-Cap is the type of guy who likes all types of children no matter how destructive or arrogant they are. Though Priscilla is hard to open. I think that Priss would remind Cap of another woman who is hard to open up to, but is nice deep down (I'm referring to Madame Viper. And who knows, maybe Madame Viper worked once for Madeline too)
-Tony might not like Priscilla at first. He is a very busy man and has no time for bratty children, more if they're the kids of his competition. However, after getting numerous propositions from Pynch Industries he ended up desecrating, for then purchasing Simon Innovations. An angry Priscilla comes at his door screaming how he has ruined his family even more... so yea, it wasn't a really good first impression, but they warm up with time.
-Thor as the god of thunder and prince of Asgard would be the most interesting Avenger to Priscilla, and Thor would hate it. The Asgardian knew that humans could be perseverant and an unstoppable force, something Priss proved to be. The girl is 11 and she already had levels of Enchantress manipulation, though Thor knew that she was still a kid who grew up with a mother worse than Enchantress herself. But it still made Thor tremble every time Priss showed up in front of him with a wide smile to ask ¨can I brush your hair?¨
-Banner and Hulk have come to the agreement that Priss is not the worst thing that has happened to them... and even when Priss is annoying at times, is a bit nice to have someone yell at you because you are not a monster but because you are annoying to her as well. Priss doesn't see Hulk as a monster which is surprising for many.
-Hank and Jannet are worried for Priscilla, mostly Hank who after a deep investigation found out what Madeline was doing in the shadows and what was planning if she killed made an alliance with Tony.
-T´challa is impressive as to how obstinate Pricilla is, how cold, and how calculator she could be all thanks to the teachings of her mother. But Priscilla was still innocent, a little kid who didn't know better and was never put a stop as a conscious decision to keep her as an obedient brat. It made T'challa that things were never as black and white as some pointed out. Priscilla has the chance to be the bad guy or the good guy, and T´challa hopes that maybe some of his teaching shows Priss that one route will be better than the other. The route may take away a lot of things/people that Priss loves, but is the best path to live.
-Hawkeye won't stand for Priss shenanigans and will ping her with one of his arrows to a wall just to annoy her and make him leave him alone. But Priss just like Cody is a force to fear, more if you ruin one of her prettiest dresses. Clint learned that with a bomb of glitter exploding on his face...
To summarize, everyone on the team has different views on Priscilla, but they all mostly agree that Madeline played (or well didn't?) a part in Priscilla's education and teaching her how to act. Everyone and Cap would be a bit worried that Cody has a secret crush on her, but the kid has proven capable enough to deal with this (or so they think ashdkjahd)
Wasp is a shipper like Dani so a lot of chaos suffers with this...
Supernatural (Dean Winchester x Female!Reader)
Changing Channels
Masterlist pt 1
Masterlist pt 2
Dean and I were sitting on the bed of our motel, watching Dr. Sexy, MD. Both of us pretty into it as Dr Palmer and Dr Piccolo enter an elevator then they start making out as the doors shut.
"What are you guys watching?" Sam asked us. "Hospital show. Dr. Sexy, MD. I think it's based on a book." Dean replied. "It is." I said. "When did you hit menopause?" Sam asked Dean. "Her fault." Dean said, pointing at me. Sam looks over at me with a questioning look. "Hey, you complained until the sex scenes began." I said and Sam gives an understanding nod.
“Well, that explains why he’s into it. But I’m a little surprise that you are, (y/n). Just doesn’t seem like your type of show.” Sam said. “Everyone’s got a poison. Nothing wrong with some junk food entertainment every once in a while.” I said and Sam shrugs. “Fair enough.” He said, with a chuckle.
“I wouldn’t call this junk food. Remember the two part season finale?” Dean asked me, giving me a knowing and suggestive look. “Dean, that finale was basically just porn. It had like three separate sex scenes in them.” I said. “Was still good finale.” Dean muttered as he got up and turned off the TV. I shook my head at him and stood up as well.
Sam grabs his suit jacket off the other bed and puts it on. "You guys ready?" Dean asked us. "Are you?" Sam asked and Dean grabs his keys and walks out.
"One more time, the FBI is here why, exactly?" The officer asked us. "Might have something to do with one of your locals getting his head ripped off." I said. "Bill Randolph died from a bear attack." the officer said, firmly. "How sure are you that it was a bear?" Sam asked him.
"What else would it be?" the officer asked. "Well, whatever it was it chased Mr. Randolph through the woods, smashed through his front door followed him up the stairs, and killed him in his bedroom." Dean said and the officer looks between us.
"Is that common, a bear doing all that?" I asked him, suspiciously. "Depends how pissed off it is, I guess. Look, the Randolphs live way up in high country. You got trout runs to make a grown man weep. And bears." the officer said. "Right. Now, what about Mrs. Randolph? The file says she saw the whole thing." Sam said. "Yes, she did. My heart goes out to that poor woman." the officer said.
"She said bear." Dean said, questioning. "Kathy Randolph went through a hell of a trauma. She's confused." the officer said, defensively. "What did she say?" I asked.
Later, the boys and I were sitting at a table with Kathy Randolph. "No, it must have been a bear. I mean, what else could it have been?" Kathy said, obviously unsure. "Mrs. Randolph, what do you think it was?" Sam asked her.
"No, I, I remember clearly now. It was definitely a bear." Kathy said, shaking her head. "We're sure it was. But see, it helps us to hear every angle. So just tell us what you thought you saw." Dean said. "It's impossible, but...I could have sworn I saw...the Incredible Hulk." Kathy said which is the last thing I expected her to say.
"The Incredible Hulk." I said, confused. "I told you it was crazy." Kathy said. "Bana or Norton?" Dean asked. "Oh, no, those movies were terrible. The TV Hulk." Kathy said. "Lou Ferrigno." I said and she nods. "Yes." she said. "Spiky-hair Lou Ferrigno." I specified. "Yes." she said and I hum at this then I exchange a look between the boys.
"You think I'm crazy." Kathy said, disappointed. "No. Uh, no, it's just...is there, uh, would there be any reason that Lou Ferrigno, the Incredible Hulk, would have a grudge against your husband?" Dean asked. "No." she said. "No." Dean repeated.
Back at the motel, Dean and I were looking on our laptops when Sam comes in. "Hey." Sam said as we look up at him. "Find anything?" Dean asked him. "Well, uh, I saw the house." Sam said. "And?" Dean and I asked.
"And there is a giant eight-foot-wide hole where the front door used to be. Almost like, uh—" Sam trails off. "A Hulk-sized hole." I said. "Maybe. What do you two got?" Sam asked us. "Well, it turns out that Bill Randolph had quite the temper. He's got two counts of spousal battery, bar brawls, and court-ordered anger management sessions. You might say you wouldn't like him when he's angry." Dean said and I chuckle.
"So a hothead getting killed by TV's greatest hothead. Kinda sounds like just desserts, doesn't it?" Sam asked and Dean snorts. "It's all starting to make sense." Sam said.
"How is it starting to make sense?" I asked him. "Well, I found something else at the crime scene." Sam said and he pulls a handful of candy wrappers out of his pocket. "Candy wrappers." he said and he drops them. "Lots of them." Sam adds.
"Just desserts, sweet tooth, screwing with people before you kill 'em—we're dealing with the Trickster, aren't we?" Dean asked I groan. "Sure looks like it." Sam said. "Good. I've wanted to gank that mother since Mystery Spot." Dean said. "You sure?" I asked him. "Yeah I'm sure." Dean said.
"No, I mean are you sure you wanna kill him?" I asked him. "Son of a bitch didn't think twice about icing me a thousand times." Dean said and I sigh. "No, I know, I mean, I'm just saying—" I started to say. "What are you saying? If you don't want to kill him, then what?" Dean asked me. "Talk to him?" I suggested.
"What?" Dean asked me, disbelieving. "Think about it, Dean. He's one of the most powerful creatures we've ever met. Maybe we can use him." I said. "For what?" Dean asked. "She has a point, Dean. The Trickster's like a Hugh Hefner type, right? Wine, women, song—maybe he doesn't want the party to end. Maybe he hates this angels and demons stuff as much as we do. Maybe he'll help us." Sam said and I nod. "Exactly." I said and Dean looks between us.
"You guys are serious." He said. "Yeah." Sam and I said, in unison. "Ally with the Trickster." Dean said. "Yeah." Sam and I said. "A bloody, violent monster, and you wanna be Facebook friends with him? Nice, guys." Dean said, sarcastically. "The world is gonna end, Dean. We don't have the luxury of a moral stand. Look, I'm just saying it's worth a shot. That's all. If it doesn't work, we'll kill him." Sam said and Dean sighs.
"How are we gonna find the guy, anyway?" Dean asked. "Well, he never takes just one victim, right? He'll show." I said
"Um, Dispatch? I, I got a possible 187 out here at the old paper mill on Route 6?" A voice said in the police scanner as Dean and I sharpen a couple of wooden stakes. "Hey." Sam said to us and we stop working and focus on the scanner. "Roger that. What are you looking at there, son?" Dispatch asked him. "Honestly, Walt, I, I wouldn't even know how to describe what I'm seeing. Just—send everybody." the guy said. "All right, stay calm, stay by your car. Help's on the way." Dispatch said and Sam turns off the scanner.
"That sounds weird." Dean points out. "Weird enough to be our guy." Sam said and we get up and go.
We pull up to the warehouse and get out of the Impala. Strangely, there was no one else in sight. "There was a murder here, and there's no police cars. There's nobody. How's that look to you boys?" I asked them. "Crappy." Sam said and Dean goes to the trunk and pulls out three stakes and three flashlights, handing each one to me and Sam.
Then he closes the trunk and we begin to enter the building, I take the lead. But there was nothing inside just a normal looking abandoned warehouse. "Well...this is disappointing." I said and I turn around, only to see that I was alone.
"Dean? Sam?" I called out as I look around, my heart beating against my chest. "Boys?" I called out again as I couldn't find them. "Guys, this isn't funny!" I yelled as I go to the front door and go outside and look around to also see the Impala gone. "What the hell?" I muttered, confused and fearfully, and I look around myself. "SAM!? DEAN!?" I call out in a panic.
*3rd Person POV*
Sam and Dean, both wearing white lab coats, walk out into a white hallway. They look around and at each other and themselves. "What the hell?" Dean asked. "Where's (y/n)?" He asked as a blonde doctor and an asian doctor made, Dr Wang, pass by them.
"Doctor." The blonde doctor greets Sam and Dean. "Doctor." Dr Wang greeted them. "Doctor?" Sam said, confused, while Dean opens the door they just entered through. It leads to a janitor's closet where a man and a woman are making out.
Dean closes the door, looking freaked, while a brunette doctor, who bears a remarkable resemblance to Dr Piccolo from Dr. Sexy, MD, turns away from the receptionist's desk and approaches Sam and Dean.
"Doctor." She said then she slaps Sam. "Ow!" Sam exclaimed in pain. "Seriously." the brunette growled. "What?" Sam asked her. "Seriously? You're brilliant, you know that? And a coward. You're a brilliant coward." The woman said, dramatically.
"Um. What are you talking about?" Sam asked and she slaps him again. "As if you don't know!" She shouts then she stalks off. "I don't believe this." Dean mutters as he stares at the brunette, in awe. "What?" Sam asked, annoyed. "That's Dr. Piccolo." Dean said.
"Who?" Sam asked. "Dr. Ellen Piccolo. The sexy yet earnest doctor at—" Dean starts to explain then he looks at the sign behind the receptionist's desk and gestures at it angrily, reading it aloud. "Seattle Mercy Hospital." he said.
"Dean. What the hell are you talking about?" Sam asked him. "The doctor getups. The, the sexy interns. The seriously's. It all makes sense." Dean said. "What makes sense? What's going on?" Sam asked, angrily. "We're in Dr. Sexy, MD." Dean states.
Minutes later, the brothers walk through the hospital corridors. "Dude, what the hell." Dean said. "I don't know." Sam said. "No, seriously, what the hell." Dean said, a bit panicked. "I don't know." Sam exclaims. "One theory. Any theory." Dean said. "Uh, the Trickster trapped us in TV Land." Sam said.
"That's your theory. That's stupid." Dean grumbles. "You're the one who said we're on Dr. Sexy, MD." Sam said. "Yeah, but TV land isn't TV Land. I mean, there's actors and, and lights and crew members, you know. This looks real." Dean said. "It can't be. Dean, how can this possibly be real?" Sam asked. "I don't know." Dean said, shrugging, as Dr Wang walks past.
"Doctors." She greets as she walks on. "There goes Dr. Wang. The sexy but arrogant heart surgeon." Dean said as he watches her go down the corridor and sees her pass a man sitting on a gurney. "And there's Johnny Drake. Oh, he's not even alive, he's a ghost in the mind of—" Dean said just as another brunette doctor enters, sitting next to Johnny. "Of her. The sexy yet neurotic doctor over there." Dean finished.
"So...this show has ghosts? Why?" Sam asked him. "I don't know. It is compelling." Dean said. "I thought you said you weren't a fan." Sam said, suspiciously. "I'm not. I'm not. It's (y/n) that's the fan." Dean said. "Speaking of (y/n), where is she? Why didn't the Trickster trapped her here with us?" Sam asked. "No idea. But she'd be freaking out if she saw this." Dean said then he sees something and just stares.
"Oh boy." Dean said.
"What?" Sam asked him.
"It's him." Dean said.
"Who?" Sam asked as Dr Palmer comes down the corridor. "It's him, it's Dr. Sexy." Dean said and Dr Palmer stops next to Sam and Dean then looks at Dean. "Doctor." he greets and Dean looks down, hiding his smile. "Doctor." he said then Dr Palmer addresses Sam. "Doctor." Dr Palmer said and Sam nods then Dean whacks him. "Doctor." Sam said, through gritted teeth.
Then Dr Palmer addresses Dean "You want to give me one good reason why you defied my direct order to do the experimental face transplant on Mrs. Biehl?" he asked and Dean's expression goes from awed through confused. He glances at Sam, then back. "One reason?" he asked and Dr Palmer nods. "Sure." Dean said then he looks down then noticed something.
Dr Palmer is wearing white tennis shoes. Dean slams him against the wall. "You're not Dr. Sexy." he growls. "You're crazy." Dr Palmer said. "Really? Because I swore part of what makes Dr. Sexy sexy is the fact that he wears cowboy boots. Not tennis shoes." Dean yelled and Sam scoffs a laugh. "Yeah. You're not a fan." he said, sarcastically. "It's a guilty pleasure." Dean yells at Sam.
"Call security." Palmer said to the others. "Yeah, go ahead, pal. See, we know who you are." Dean said as Dr Wang, the Blonde Doctor and a security guard are all approaching. But then they and the extras freeze-frame.
Dean glances around, only he, Sam and Dr Palmer are still moving. Dr Palmer grins and morphs into the Trickster. "You guys are getting better!" he laughs. "Get us the hell out of here." Dean growls. "Or what?" the Trickster asked before he grabs Dean’s arm and twists, hurting him. "Don't say you have wooden stakes, big guy." he said.
"That was you on the police scanner, right? This is a trick." Sam said. "Hello? Trickster. Come on! I heard you two yahoos and the girl were in town. How could I resist?" Trickster said. "Where the hell are we? And what have you done to (y/n)?" Dean asked him, angrily.
"Like it? It's all homemade. My own sets—" the Trickster said as he raps on the window in a nearby door, then indicates the frozen extras. "My own actors...call it my own little idiot box." he said, smirking. "As for your pretty little girlfriend, don't worry, she's fine and safe. I had my fun with her back in Mystery Spot. But now I want to have fun with you two." The Trickster said, mischievously.
"How do we get out?" Dean asked him. "That, my friend, is the sixty-four-dollar question." Trickster replied. "Whatever. We just, we need to talk to you. We need your help." Sam said. "Hm, let me guess. You three muttonheads broke the world, and you want me to sweep up your mess." the Trickster said. "Please. Just five minutes. Hear us out." Sam pleads. "Sure. Tell you what. Survive the next twenty-four hours, we'll talk." said the Trickster.
"Survive what?" Dean asked.
"The game!" the Trickster said, as if it was obvious.
"What game?" Dean asked.
"You're in it." said the Trickster.
"How do we play?" Dean asked.
"You're playing it." Trickster said.
"What are the rules?" Dean asked and the Trickster raises his eyebrows, grins, and vanishes in a burst of static. The extras unpause. "Oh, son of a bitch." Dean mutters, annoyed.
"Dr. Sexy? Dr. Sexy?" the blonde doctor calls out as she walks past. Sam and Dean continue down the corridor after her. "Paging Dr. Sexy. Report to the ER." the voice over the intercom said. "Oh, by the way. Talking with monsters? Hell of a plan." Dean said to Sam, sarcastically.
"Just, what do we do now?" Sam asked. "You know what I'm doing? Leaving." Dean said as Dr Piccolo appears and takes another swing at Sam, who ducks. "Lady, what the hell?" Sam asked, annoyed.
"You are a brilliant, brilliant—"
"Yeah. A coward. You already said that. But I got news for you. I am not a doctor." Sam said, interrupting her. "Don't say that. You are the finest cerebrovascular neurosurgeon I have ever met, and I have met plenty. So that girl died on your table. It wasn't your fault. It wasn't anybody's fault. Sometimes people just die." Piccolo said as Sam furrows his brow. "I have no idea what you're saying to me." He said to her.
"You're afraid. You're afraid to operate again. And you're afraid to love." Piccolo said and she leaves, sobbing. "Yeah, we're getting out of here." Sam said and he and Dean go to leave until a voice calls out to them. "Hey. Doctor."
Dean stops and turns to a man walking to them. "Yeah." he said. "My wife needs that face transplant." the man said. "Okay. You know what, pal? None of this is real, and your wife doesn't need jack squat. Okay?" Dean said and he and Sam keep walking.
"Hey, Doctor." The man, Mr Biehl, shouts then he raises a gun and shoots Dean in the back. Dean stares after him, then goes to his knees. "Real—it's real—" Dean groans as Sma kneels down to him. "No no no, no no no no no—hey! We need a doctor!" Sam shouts as he looks around frantically.
Later, Dean was facedown on an operating table, staring through the headrest at several pairs of white tennis shoes. Dr Wang passes an operating instrument to another doctor.
Sam is dressed in operating scrubs, as is everyone else in the room, Piccolo watches through glass. Sam holds something absorbent against Dean's injury with a pair of tweezers. He hands the tweezers to another doctor and presses an already bloodstained cloth to the injury.
"BP is eighty over fifty and dropping." the blonde doctor said. "Doctor." Dr Wang said as she holds out a scalpel but Sam doesn't take it. "What?" Sam asked as the two doctors exchange glances.
"Sam. Do something. Come on." Dean growls and Sam leans over and speaks in an undertone. "I don't know how to use any of this crap." he said. "Figure it out." Dean said and Sam grins awkwardly at the other doctors but doesn't do anything. "Sam. Come on. I'm waiting." Dean said, impatiently.
"Okay. Um. I need a penknife, some dental floss, a sewing needle, and a fifth of whiskey." Sam said and the other doctors look at him and each other. "Stat!" Sam shouts and they start moving.
Sam, eventually, got to work on the wound, after he was giving the things he needed, as he uses all of the things he uses. Then he snips off the extra floss from Dean's stitches. "We okay? How's it looking?" Dean asked him. "Yep. You'll be fine." Sam assures him.
Sam looks up and catches sight of Piccolo, who mouths I love you and sighs, smiling.
The shoes leave Dean's field of vision. The lighting and texture shift, and the light starts to flash in time with clapping and shouts and screams. The floor has become two doors, which slide apart.
Behind the doors is blue-lit smoke and a Japanese man comes out of the doors and forward between two Japanese women and Dean and Sam, both of whom are wearing more usual outfits. The Japanese man says something in Japanese then shouts. "Let's play Nutcracker!" The crowd cheers and applauds.
Dean looks around: he is standing in shoes glued to a platform that has a slot for a pole with a large ball at the end. Sam is similarly situated. To one side is an LED screen that says "20".
The hosr says something in Japanese and pulls cards out of his jacket. Silence falls. "Sam Winchester." he said and he continues to talk in Japanese.
What was the name of the demon you chose over your own brother and best friend?
"Countdown." he said in English while Sam looks at him, confused. "What?" he asked as the screen begins to tick down the seconds. "Uh, what am I supposed to say?" Sam asked Dean. "You think I know?" Dean exclaimed then Sam addresses the host.
"Uh, I, I don't, I don't understand Japanese." Sam said and the host repeats the question in Japanese.
What was the name of the demon you chose over your own brother and best friend?
"Is he screwing with me? I, I, I can't speak Japanese." Sam yells then the screen hits "0" and a buzz sounds out. The host said in Japanese.
The answer is...
"Ruby!" The host said in English while the crowd repeats the answer then he turns to Sam. "I'm sorry, Sam Winchester." he said. "Sorry? Sir? For what?" Sam asked and the host mimes hiding laughter. "Dean?" Sam asked, panicked, just as the pole on Sam's platform comes up so that the ball whacks Sam in the crotch. Dean is horrified as the crowd cheers. "Nutcracker!" the host shouts as the scene of Sam getting hit in the crotch replays from several angles. The Japanese caption flashes.
"Nutcracker!" The host shouts again.
"Sam?" Dean asked his younger brother, who makes an inarticulate noise. One of the Japanese women says something in Japanese. The host goes over to her and she shows off a bag of chips.
Have we discussed these nutritious Shrimp Chips? Lots of nutrition, tastes great...and the more one eats, the slimmer they get, just like you. Please buy them.
"You okay?" Dean asked Sam, who just looks at him. Dean looks at Sam's platform, then at his own, and cringes. The light on the doors starts flashing again. "Oh now what?" Dean asked, exasperated.
The doors open to reveal (y/n), the crowd cheers. "There you are!" (Y/n) said, relieved, as she looks between the boys. "(Y/n)?" Dean said. "Is this another trick?" Sam asked and she shakes her head. "It's me. Uh, what are you doing here?" she asked as she looks around the game show set.
"Us? What are you doing here?" Dean asked her. "Looking for you two, duh. You've been missing for days. I got Cas to help me." (Y/n) said. "So get us the hell out of here, then!" Sam shouts and (y/n) nods. "Let's go. And I'll call Cas." She said and she raises her arms to reach out for the boys hands but then she vanishes in a burst of static.
"(Y/n)?" Dean asked, worried, as Sam's eyes widen. Then the host comes back to center stage. "No, no, no, no. Mr. Trickster does not like pretty-human girl." The host said then he pulls out another card and speaks in Japanese. "You son of a bitch, you better have not hurt her!" Dean shouts, angrily, to the sky, hoping the Trickster had heard him.
"Dean Winchester." he said then he speaks in Japanese.
Would your Mother and Father still be alive...if your brother was never born?
"Countdown." He said in English and the screen begins to tick down the seconds from "20". "What do I do, what do I do?" Dean asked, panicked. "What?" Sam said. "I don't wanna get hit in the nuts." Dean said, quickly. "I don't know, I, I, uh, just, uh—wait." Sam said. "What?" Dean asked. "I played a doctor." Sam said.
"What?" Dean asked, confused. "In, uh, in Dr. Sexy I played a doctor. I operated." Sam said. "So?" Dean said. "So I played the role the Trickster wanted me to play. Maybe we should just go along with it." Sam said. "Go along with what?" Dean asked. "With the game! You know, we're on a game show, right? So just answer the question!" Sam shouts.
"In Japanese?" Dean asked. "Yeah!" Sam said. "I don't know Japanese!" Dean shouts. "Try!" Sam yells. "Dammit!" Dean growls and he hits the button and the countdown freezes just before the buzz.
Dean says something in Japanese.
The answer is...yes?
The host repeats the last few syllables and so does Dean. The host shouts something in Japanese and Dean braces himself. "Dean Winchester, Nutcracker champion!" the host yells in English and the crowd cheers.
"How did you do that?" Sam asked Dean. "I have no idea." Dean said, shrugging. "So that's it. We play our roles, we survive." Sam said. "Yeah, but play our roles for how long?" Dean asked. "Good question." Sam said and Dean forces a grin and waves.
A woman does a yoga pose then said. "I've got genital herpes."
An old man sits on a couch. "I've got genital herpes." he said.
Four men are playing basketball, one makes a basket. This one turns around; it's Sam, looking very uncomfortable. "Seriously?" Sam asked, exasperated. "Hey, you're the one who said play our roles." Dean said as he walks up to Sam. "Yeah. Right." Sam grumbles and Dean claps him on the shoulder and goes back to the game.
"I've got genital herpes." Sam said.
The woman sits in another yoga pose. "I try to be responsible." she said.
The old man looks over at another woman. "Did I try." he said.
"But now I take twice-daily Herpexia to reduce my chances of passing it on." Sam said, still looking uncomfortable.
"Ask your doctor about using Herpexia." the yoga woman said and she does other yoga poses while the old man slow-dances with his wife.
Patients should always consult with a physician before using Herpexia. Possible side effects include headache, diarrhea, permanent erectile dysfunction, thoughts of suicide, and nausea.
"I am doing all I can to slightly lessen the spread of—of genital herpes. And that's a good thing." Sam said, uncomfortable, then he goes back to the game, feeling relieved to not go through that again. The Herpexia logo appears.
Dean puts some things in a refrigerator, closes the fridge, and turns around. Applause sounds out as Dean looks at a sandwich on the table, about a foot tall, a laptop next to the sandwich. "I'm gonna need a bigger mouth." Dean said as a laugh track starts. Then Sam enters the room and there was another Applause.
"Hey there, Sam. What's happening?" Dean asked him. "Oh, nothing. Um. Just the end of the world." Sam said and the laugh track comes on. Sam sees the sandwich. "You're gonna need a bigger mouth." he said and the laugh track kicks on again.
"Hey, uh, have you done your research yet?" Sam asked Dean and Dean gets a busted expression, making the laugh track come on. "Oh, yeah. All kinds of research. All night." Dean said. "Yeah? Hm." Sam said, not believing, when porno music comes through the laptop.
"Oh, yes! Yes! Harder, baby, harder!" A woman said as the music continues, a mixture of laughs and oooh's sounds out. Sam looks at the laptop then at Dean before folding his arms. "Dean..." Sam said, disapproving, and another laugh track. "Son of a bitch!" Dean exclaims, in a exaggerated disappointed voice, and the laugh track comes on again.
Sam shuts the laptop and shakes his head. "How long do we have to keep doing this?" Dean asked Sam, speaking through his forced smile. "I don't know." Sam said as applause happens. "Maybe forever? We might die in here." Sam said as the laugh track comes on again.
"How was that funny? Vultures." Dean said, annoyed, as the laugh track continues. The door opens and it's Castiel and (y/n), who has minor injuries. "(Y/n)! Cas!" Dean said as there was applause. "You okay, sweetheart?" Dean asked (y/n), who nods.
"We don't have much time." Castiel said. "What happened?" Sam asked, gesturing to the injuries (y/n) had. "Cas helped me get out." (Y/n) said. "From where?" Dean asked her but before she could reply Cas speaks over. "Listen to me. Something is not right. This thing is much more powerful than it should be." Castiel said.
"What thing—the Trickster?" Dean asked. "If it is a trickster." Castiel said. "What do you mean?" Sam asked but then Cas and (y/n) are flung backwards into the wall, they're face hidden.
The Trickster appears at the door. "Hello!" he greets to applause and cheers. Castiel and (y/n) get up; their mouths had been duct-taped shut. "Thank you. Thank you, ladies." The Trickster said while Cas and (y/n) glares at him. "Hi, Castiel! (y/n)!" Trickster greets and he gestures at the duo, then Cas and (y/n) vanish in a burst of static.
"You know him?" Sam asked The Trickster. "Where did you just send them?" Dean asked, angrily. "Relax, they'll live. ...Maybe." the Trickster said and the laugh track comes on. "All right, you know what? I am done with the monkey dance, okay? We get it." Dean yells. "Yeah? Get what, hotshot?" the Trickster asked him. "Playing our roles, right? That's your game?" Dean said. "That's half the game." the Trickster scoffs.
"What's the other half?" Sam asked. "Play your roles out there." the Trickster said, as he gestures ahead. "What's that supposed to mean?" Dean asked. "Oh, you know. Sam starring as Lucifer. Dean starring as Michael. Your celebrity death match. Play your roles." The Trickster replied.
"You want us to say yes to those sons of bitches?" Sam asked, shocked. "Hells yeah. Let's light this candle!" the Trickster exclaims, excitedly. "We do that, the world will end." Sam points out. "Yeah? And whose fault is that? Who popped Lucifer out of the box? Hm? Look, it's started. You started it. It can't be stopped. So let's get it over with!" the Trickster said as Sam glares.
"Heaven or hell, which side you on?" Dean asked the Trickster. "I'm not on either side." he replied. "Yeah, right. You're grabbing ankle for Michael or Lucifer. Which one is it?" Dean asked and the Trickster starts to get angry. "You listen to me, you arrogant dick. I don't work for either of those S.O.B.s. Believe me." he growls and Dean scoffs out q laugh. "Oh, you're somebody's bitch." he said and the Trickster's smile vanishes. He grabs Dean by the collar and slams him into the wall.
"Don't you ever, ever presume to know what I am. Now listen very closely. Here's what's gonna happen. You're gonna suck it up, accept your responsibilities, and play the roles that destiny has chosen for you." Trickster said. "And if we don't?" Sam asked and Trickster grins. "Then you'll stay here in TV Land. Forever. Three hundred channels and, uh, nothing's on." The Trickster said then he snaps his fingers.
A man lies on the ground with a stomach wound, crime-scene markers surround him and cameras flash. Dean and Sam are standing outside the crime-scene tape, watching the various extras work. They turn around; they're wearing suits with matching blue shirts and sunglasses.
"Oh, come on." Dean growls, annoyed, as an officer ducks under the crime scene tape. "So, what do you think?" the officer asked Dean. "What do I think? I think go screw yourself, that's what I think." Dean yells, angrily, and Sam gives him a look of concern.
"Uh, could you give us a sec, please? Thanks." Sam said to the officer, who nods and turns away. "You gotta calm down." Sam said to Dean after he turns to him. "Calm down? I am wearing sunglasses at night." Dean yells as he yanks them off. "You know who does that? No-talent douchebags." Dean said and Sam nods in agreement.
"I hate this game. I hate that we're in a procedural cop show and you wanna know why? Because I hate procedural cop shows. There's like three hundred of them on television and they're all the freaking same. It's ooh, plane crashed here—oh shut up." Dean rants as Sam notices something at the crime scene and takes off his sunglasses.
"Hey." Sam said. "What?" Dean roars. "Check out sweet tooth over there." Sam said as he points to an officer sucking on a lollipop. "Think that's him?" Dean asked Sam. "Just, um, follow my lead." Sam said and he goes over to the body and Dean follows.
They both put on their sunglasses as the crime-scene tape is raised to let them under. "You, uh, you okay?" the officer asked Dean. "Yeah. What do we got?" Dean asked and the officer kneels next to the body. "Well, aside from the ligature marks around his neck, he has what appears to be a roll of quarters jammed down his throat." the officer explains as Dean takes off his sunglasses, gets out a flashlight, and takes a closer look. Sam also takes off his sunglasses.
"Well I say, jackpot." Sam said, putting his sunglasses back on, while the Officer looks up at him, snorting in amusement. "Also, there is a stab wound to the lower abdomen." The officer said as he indicates the bloodstain with his lollipop. Dean grabs a stick and pokes at the hole in the shirt with it, getting blood on the stick, then puts his sunglasses back on.
"Well I say, no guts, no glory." Dean said and the officer laughs. "Get that guy a Tums." Sam said. "Gutter ball." said Dean as the officer keeps laughing. "Good one, guys." he said as Dean comes around behind him with the stick. The officef turns toward Dean, who stabs him with it.
The officef collapses, struggling to breathe. None of the extras notice or care except another officer, who starts laughing and morphs into the Trickster. "You've got the wrong guy, idiots." the Trickster taunts. "Did we?" Dean asked and Sam stakes the Trickster from behind. He falls over in a burst of static. Dean and Sam are back in the clothes they were wearing when they entered the warehouse, the Trickster laying down with the stake through his chest.
Dean, in a bathroom of a room, finishes brushing his teeth and spits. "I'm worried, man. What that SOB did to Cas and (y/n). You know, where they are?" Dean asked but there was no response. "Sam?" Dean asked but the room is empty.
"Where are you?" Dean asked and he walks outside and towards the Impala. He pulls his phone out and up to his ear. "It's Sam. Leave me a message." Sam's voice-mail said and Dean gets in the car. "Sam. It's me. Where the hell did you go?" Dean asked and he snaps the phone shut.
"Dean?" Sam asked, which his voice sounds a bit odd. Dean looks around but doesn't see Sam. "Sam? Where are you?" Dean asked. "I don't know." Sam said then Dean notices a red light on the dashboard, it flashes in time with Sam's words. "Oh crap. I don't think we killed the Trickster." Sam said.
The Impala has acquired red flashing lights under the front grille as well, the Knight Rider theme plays. Dean drives. "Okay, stake didn't work. So, what, this is another trick?" Dean asked. "I don't know. Maybe the stake didn't work because it's not a trickster?" Sam suggested.
"What do you mean?" Dean asked then there was a noise next to him. He looks over and sees Ariel next to him. "Ariel?! What the hell?" Dean said, confused. "I'm glad I found you. Where's Sam?" Ariel asked. "Here." Sam's voice said and Ariel looks around. "I'm the car." Sam said and Ariel looks at the dashboard.
"Oh, goodness." She said. "What are you doing here?" Dean asked. "I hadn't heard from Castiel and (y/n) in hours. They told me they were trying to save you two but I got worried when I didn't hear from them." Ariel replied. "Well, this Trickster, or whatever he is, banished them somewhere, I don't know..." Dean said.
"Cas said this thing was too powerful to be a trickster." Sam said. "And the way he looked at Cas, it was almost like he knew him." Dean said as Ariel looks at Dean then gets a thoughtful look. "And how pissed he got when you brought up Michael and Lucifer." Sam said and Ariel sighs.
"You two are not going up against a Trickster." She said. "What?" the boy said. "I know what you two are dealing with. Or more precise, who you're dealing with." Ariel said as they continue down the road. “You mind enlightening us?” Dean asked and Ariel looks sad for a moment. “My brother, Gabriel.” She said. “The archangel?” Sam asked. “Yes.” Ariel replied.
“How many of you are there?” Dean asked. “Only five. Myself, Gabriel, Micheal, Lucifer, and Raphael.” Ariel said. “Well, that explains why he’s been such a pain in the ass this whole time. No offense.” Dean said and Ariel giggles. “Gabriel always liked his tricks.” She said with a little smile as she reminisce.
“What is he doing on earth? I thought all the angels were in heaven until Cas rescued Dean from hell.” Sam said. “Everyone but Gabriel, he left heaven thousands of years ago. Before Michael locked Lucifer in the cage.” Ariel explained.
“What happened?” Sam asked and Ariel opens her mouth to explain but is interrupted by Dean. “I’m sure it’s a fascinating story but we don’t have time for it right now. (Y/n) and Cas could be in trouble.” He said.
“He’s right, it won’t take long for Gabriel to discover I’m here. It’ll ruin the plan.” Ariel said. “You got something in mind?” Dean asked and Ariel smirks. “Gabriel’s not the only one with a trick up his sleeve.” She said and winks, mimicking (y/n).
Later, at a wilderness area, Dean rummages in the trunk of the car. "Dean?" Sam said. "What?" Dean asked. "That, uh, feels really uncomfortable." Sam said and Dean shuts the trunk. "Ow." Sam said and Dean rolls his eyes.
"You sure this is gonna work?" Sam asked. "Well, Ariel said this will work, so I trust her. Plus I have no other ideas." Dean said then he goes to the front of the car and shouts at the sky.
"All right, you son of a bitch! Uncle! We'll do it!" Dean shouts but nothing. "Should I honk?" Sam asked but then Trickster appears from nowhere. "Wow. Sam. Get a load of the rims on you." he said as he looks at Sam. "Eat me." Sam growls.
"Okay, boys. Ready to go quietly?" Trickster asked. "Whoa whoa whoa, not so fast. Nobody's going anywhere until Sam has opposable thumbs." Dean said. "What's the difference? Satan's going to ride his ass one way or another." the Trickster said and Dean looks at him. The Trickster rolls his eyes and snaps his fingers. The KITT lights on the car go out and Sam gets out of the car.
"Happy?" Trickster asked Dean. "Tell me one thing. Why didn't the stake kill you?" Dean asked, feigning ignorance. "I am the Trickster." the Trickster said, proudly. "Or maybe you're not." Dean said and Sam holds up a flaming cigarette lighter and tosses it down. A ring of fire springs up around the Trickster.
"We know you're an angel." Dean said and the Trickster looks incredulous, then laughs. "A what? Somebody slip a mickey in your power shake, kid?" The Trickster asked him. "I'll tell you what. You just jump out of the holy fire and we'll call it our mistake." Dean said and the Trickster laughs then he stops, realizing he is caught.
He claps and the world turns normal. "Well played, boys. Well played. Where'd you get the holy oil?" He asked them. "Well, you might say we pulled it out of Sam's ass." Dean said.
"Where'd I screw up?" The Trickster, or Gabriel, asked. "You didn't. Nobody gets the jump on Cas like you did." Sam said. "Partly it was the way you talked about Armageddon. And we had a bit of help." Dean said. "Meaning?" Gabriel asked then Ariel appears between Sam and Dean.
"Hello, brother." Ariel said as Gabriel stares at her, surprised. "Ariel? Thought you were dead?" He asked and she gives a smirk. "My disappearance was extremely exaggerated." Ariel said and she folds her arms.
"So, how does an archangel become a trickster?" Dean asked him. "My own private witness protection. I skipped out of heaven, had a face transplant, carved out my own little corner of the world. Till you two and your girlfriend screwed it all up." Gabriel replied. "What did Daddy say when you ran off and joined the pagans?" Dean asked him. "Daddy doesn't say anything about anything." Gabriel said.
"Then what happened? Why'd you ditch?" Sam asked. "Do you blame him? I mean, his brothers are heavyweight douchenozzles." Dean said. "Shut your cakehole. You don't know anything about my family." Gabriel growls at Dean. "Gabriel." Ariel said to him, firmly, and he turns to her.
"You're gonna let him talk about our family like that, Ariel?" Gabriel asked her, angrily. "I don't really like it either but...he's not far from the truth." Ariel said. "I mean. I do love Dad and our brothers too, Gabe, but when they start to turn on each other, tear each other's throats? It's pretty messed up." Ariel said. "Which is why I couldn't bear it. So I left. And now it's happening all over again." Gabriel exclaims.
"Then help us stop it." Sam said. "It can't be stopped." Gabriel said and he turns to Ariel. "You, of all people, know that!" He shouts to her. "I believe there is a way to stop this! If we just work together, Gabriel, we can finally put an end to this." Ariel said and Gabriel laughs, humorously. "I'm tired of sitting by and watching this happen all over again. I putting my foot down!" Ariel said. "You are fiercely optimistic, Ariel. One of the things I missed about you. But you know there is no way of stopping Michael and Lucifer, thanks to these two and the girl!" Gabriel said. "Heaven, hell, I don't care who wins, I just want it to be over."
"It doesn't have to be like that. There has to be some way to, to pull the plug." Sam said and Gabriel laughs again. "Ariel mustn't have told you about our family. What you guys call the apocalypse, I used to call Sunday dinner. That's why there's no stopping this, because this isn't about a war. It's about two brothers that loved each other and betrayed each other. You'd think you'd be able to relate." Gabriel said.
"What are you talking about?" Sam asked. "You sorry sons of bitches. Why do you think you two are the vessels? Think about it. Michael, the big brother, loyal to an absent father, and Lucifer, the little brother, rebellious of Daddy's plan. You were born to this, boys. It's your destiny! It was always you! As it is in heaven, so it must be on earth. One brother has to kill the other." Gabriel said.
"What the hell are you saying?" Dean asked. "Why do you think I've always taken such an interest in you? Because from the moment Dad flipped on the lights around here, we knew it was all gonna end with you. Always." Gabriel said and there was a long pause.
Sam and Dean look down, then at Ariel then at each other. "No. That's not gonna happen." Dean said. "I'm sorry. But it is." Gabriel said before sighing. "Guys. I wish this were a TV show. Easy answers, endings wrapped up in a bow...but this is real, and it's gonna end bloody for all of us. That's just how it's gotta be." Gabriel said and Ariel shakes her head. "No, not anymore. This time, I'm gonna change it. I'm gonna help these boys and (y/n) and do whatever it takes to stop this crap from happening again." Ariel said, fiercely, and Gabriel stares at her for a few moments before a smirk plays on his lips. "All I can say, sis, is...good luck." He said.
"So...Now what? We stare at each other for the rest of eternity?" Gabriel asked. "Well, first of all, you're gonna bring (y/n) and Cas back from wherever you stashed them." Dean demanded. "Oh am I." Gabriel said, questioning. "Yeah. Or we're going to dunk you in some holy oil and deep-fry ourselves an archangel." Dean threatened and Gabriel snaps his fingers, Castiel and (y/n) appear.
"Cas, (Y/n), you two okay?" Dean asked as he gors over to them. "I'm fine." Castiel said and Dean goes to (y/n) and cups her face in his hands. "I'm fine, Dean. I'm okay." She assures and Dean embraces her as Castiel turns to Gabriel.
"Hello, Gabriel." he said. "Hey, bro. How's the search for Daddy going? Let me guess. Awful." Gabriel sneers and Castiel glares at him. "Okay, we're out of here. Come on, guys." Dean said as he pulls out of his and (y/n)'s embrace, takes her hand, turns and walks away.
"Uh. Okay. Guys?" Gabriel calls out as Sam, Castiel and Ariel follow Dean and (y/n). "So, so what? Huh? You're just gonna, you're gonna leave me here forever?" Gabriel asked and Dean stops at the door and turns back. "No. We're not, 'cause we don't screw with people the way you do. And for the record? This isn't about some prize fight between your brothers or some destiny that can't be stopped. This is about you being too afraid to stand up to your family. You probably should take some notes from your sister here." Dean said as he nods towards Ariel.
Then he pulls the fire alarm and Gabriel looks up as the sprinklers go off. "Don't say I never did anything for you." Dean said and Gabriel glares at him then at Ariel. The four of them leave as the Holy fire extinguishes.
Dean, (y/n) and Sam go up to the Impala while Ariel turns to Castiel, checking on him. "You okay, Cas?" She asked him, worried and concerned. "I'm fine, Ariel." Castiel said.
"All that stuff he was spouting in there, you think it was the truth?" Dean asked Sam. "I think he believes it." Sam said. "So what do we do?" Dean asked and Sam shrugs. "I don't know." he said. "I'm sure we'll figure something out." (Y/n) said and the boys nod.
"Well, I'll tell you one thing. Right about now, I wish I was back in a TV show." Dean said. "Yeah, me too." Sam said. "Okay, you two are gonna have to tell me what you guys did in TV Land." (Y/n) said. "Oh, do we have a tale to tell you." Dean said as they get into the car.
