Chapter 2

words: 1381
“Don’t worry Ma’am, the assignment will be finished by 6 o’clock. We’ll get Logan home in time for dinner… Yes, Ma’am. Have a good day.” Janus hung up the phone and gave it back to Logan.
Logan was surprised by how easily Janus could know exactly what to say to his parents and then say it with that charming voice as if it was fact. He put the cellphone back in his backpack and continued walking next to the other boys. Could he call them boys? They were all high schoolers, but if they were seniors they were probably 17 or 18 already. He had to walk faster than his normal speed to keep up with their pace.
“You really should learn to lie, specs,” Remus said.
“I wish I could. I’ve tried, I promise. It never goes well.”
“What about what you said to Roman earlier?”
“That wasn’t me. I don’t know what happened. Maybe it’s like hysterical strength, when people find themselves in life-threatening situations and are able to display unbelievable amounts of strength thanks to the adrenaline.”
Remus narrowed his eyes, processing what Logan just said. “Sure whatever that was, or maybe… you’re capable of evil and only needed a little push.”
“Uh, I don’t think I could do that again.”
“It’s not that hard,” said Janus. “You can begin with half truths.”
“How can something be half true?”
 “All you have to do is say the one half of a true sentence that helps you and then complete the rest in your head. That way your brain doesn’t know you’re lying and behaves normally.”
“That sounds complicated.”
“It’s a matter of practice.” Janus was clearly proud of his ability. “Try this: say ‘I didn’t break Roman’s diorama’ and then complete in your head ‘on purpose.’”
“I, um, I didn’t break Roman’s diorama.” On purpose. That was it. Logan wasn’t shaking or sweating, nor did he feel his face red with shame, like he did with every single attempt at lying.
“Well done!”
Logan smiled. He was scared of what he was doing, but he was also excited, which meant he was feeling more emotions than he had done in years.
A few minutes later, they arrived at Janus’ apartment. It was in an old building, with walls that surely hadn’t seen a new layer of painting since they were built. The place was small, but Logan supposed it was enough for one person. Logan didn’t want to ask why Janus lived alone, he hoped he could get to know them all better with time.
After getting in, Virgil laid down on the sofa and pulled out his phone. Remus went straight to the fridge, which had a few ingredients to make breakfast and leftovers from takeout, but was mostly full of beer. He offered Logan one, which he automatically rejected. Janus raised an eyebrow at him, to which Logan replied “My parents will know.” They accepted it.
It seemed that the three of them spent a lot of time here, judging by how they immediately made themselves comfortable in the place. He supposed Remus didn’t like spending time in the same house as Roman. At least Logan wouldn’t. However, Logan guessed they would have a pretty big house, considering how Roman liked to show off his shiny and expensive new acquisitions. He had no idea about Virgil’s situation.
Janus and Remus sat on the floor near Virgil, each of them opening their can of beer. Logan sat on a chair by the kitchen counter with his legs crossed and waited nervously for something to say. He felt bad about being here, doing nothing while his parents thought he was working. He didn’t know what he would say to them when he got home. If they asked, he could talk about a teamwork activity they did in class earlier and pretend it was left as homework. He’d have to put Janus’ advice into practice. Maybe it wouldn’t go too badly.
“What I regret about today,” Remus spoke suddenly, “is not being able to see Roman’s stupid face when he found his “project” covered in green goo.”
“I’m sure it looked better that way than whatever he did.” Virgil commented.
“Oh you better believe it. He put it together early in the morning, after spending like ten minutes panicking over what color of glitter he would use.”
Everyone snickered at that. It did sound like something Roman would do.
“It looked as if the audience had thrown green tomatoes at the stage.” Logan laughed. “Which probably made it more true to reality.”
“Ha! You can be evil!” Remus exclaimed. “I’m going to use that when I make fun of him later.”
“Hey, Jan, do you have a lighter?” Virgil asked.
“Oh, yeah, it’s on the counter.”
Logan spotted it next to him, so he took it and stood to give it to Virgil, who was now sitting up, pulling out a packet of cigarettes. Virgil thanked him, then asked Logan, “So, don’t take this the wrong way but like, why aren’t you in one of those geeky after school clubs now?”
Logan wasn’t surprised by the question. “I am technically in the math club, but I am not allowed to stay after school for it.”
“Why?” Janus took the lighter from Virgil.
As he kept talking, he sat down on the floor by the couch. “My parents think it looks good for university applications to have prizes from math competitions, but they think the meetings of the club are a waste of time, since the other students will distract me and I can just study on my own.”
“Geez.”
“Yeah.”
“We have a lot of work to do with you, don’t we?”
Logan just shrugged.
They spent the rest of the afternoon drinking and talking. At times they just sat in silence, staring at their phones or focusing on the taste of their cigarettes or their drinks, but Logan didn’t feel uncomfortable. It felt peaceful. It wasn’t the kind of silence of his classmates when he said something awkward, in which he was being observed and judged. This time, he felt like one of the group, just another piece of the whole. Even if he didn’t fully fit in, it seemed like they didn’t mind.
They kept their promise with Logan’s parents and walked him back home on time. They didn’t stop to greet them, since they knew the parents would have a heart attack as soon as they glanced at their attire. Logan explained that his teammates were in a hurry since the other two kids had to get home on time, as well, which wasn’t really false. His parents accepted it, and Logan was able to continue his night as normal.
The next week went peacefully, as well. He didn’t encounter Roman at all. There was a chance he was busy plotting his revenge, but for now Logan just wanted to enjoy the tranquility for the time it would last. He got more assignments to work on after school, which meant he would be able to sit at his desk the whole afternoon without his parents bothering him. When they did, he attempted to practice what Janus had taught him. At the beginning, he got slightly suspicious looks, but no questioning. After a few attempts, he got better, and could get away with the half truths with little issue.
Throughout the week, Logan didn’t give up with his attempts to negotiate with his new acquaintances. In the end they agreed to take turns skipping classes when Logan had free periods to be with him, but that’s all they would do. If someone had intentions of fighting the nerd they wouldn’t get involved.
It did help, though. Logan didn’t get physically assaulted for a whole week, instead just receiving the usual insults and jokes in the halls, but he was used to them, he could tune them out. Physical injuries weren more trouble.
This arrangement couldn’t last forever, but Logan devised a plan to start his own book club. No one could question him if the official documents for the club existed, and no teacher would question him using his free time during school hours to read.
A couple weeks later, Logan was invited to his first party.

Do It Yourself Hauntings
Summary: You and Terry get extremely bored while on a group date as you walk through a haunted house. Terry has a brilliant idea that’s sure to chase away your boredom.
masterlist
a/n: Guess who is flagrantly avoiding homework to write a fic? So this is Cat!Reader x Terry McGinnis. Reader is still as gender neutral as I can make them so I went with the name ‘Stray’. A tid bit I could not write in organically is that reader is painfully shy in their civilian identity but has little to no inhibitions when in their night time persona. Another clarification is that this is the outfit I had in mind. It was legit the thing I had my heart set on when my lizard brain said Catwoman character.
Warnings: Adult language, clowns, clownery, and this maybe a tinsy bit spicy at one point (I tried) (kind of? Look, I just don’t want anyone going all mother superior on me. Just in case. ).
You were incredibly, stupidly, magnificently bored.
You shifted on your heels, letting them click and echo trying to distract yourself from the thrum of excess energy surging through your body.
It-It didn’t work.
The clicking only made you more anxious, plucking at your taut nerves like well-tuned guitar strings.
It probably didn’t help that you just came back from a dazzling night of heists and getting shot at. Adrenaline still flowing through your veins like molten ichor. Heart still floundering in your chest as if- at any moment- the cops would come rushing in and you would have to make your daring, if not dramatic, escape.
Between this and the sorry attempt at jump scares the poor underpaid actors subjected you to, your head started aching and your mood plummeted into something vile. Thankfully, your group was none-the-wiser unless all of them spontaneously decided to master micro-expressions then you were the picture of an apprehensive young adult trekking through a cheap haunted house.
Why did you agree to this again?
Pulse still pounding loudly in your ears and content with letting the others have their fun, you silently fall into the back of the group. There was a higher chance that you would encounter the cringe-inducing scares but you weren’t too concerned. Nope. You were more worried about the very real possibility that you might deck Nelson or Chelsea or Blade or whoever the fuck decided that girls need to play scared to make guys feel cool. Ok, yeah, the last one.
When Chelsea did another ill-timed flinch, scrabbling for Nelson’s arm, and Nelson ate it up, you swore your eyes would roll their way out of their sockets. Whoever popularized this needed to be shot. Twice.
There was always a possibility that they weren’t faking it, that they were genuinely terrified but you highly doubted it considering if anything actually scary happened, Nelson would be the first one to run.
Neck deep in your musings, you hadn’t noticed as Terry slowed to keep pace with you. He leaned down close enough to brush his lips against your skin and blew a light gust into your ear.  You jumped clutching your ear feeling the heat spread through your body. You twitched away. The memory of his lips against your ear making your stomach dance. Your skin prickled with curiosity-
 You glowered at him. You prayed that the embarrassment plain on your body language did not dampen the venom in your eyes.
“Told ya I could be scary,”
He winked.
You sighed.
Of course, he hadn’t let that go.
You rolled your head to the side and shrank into your puffy leather jacket trying to hide the bright flush of your cheeks. From the absolutely smarmy grin he gave you, he was enjoying this. Was this payback? It was probably payback. Payback for all the slag you said over the comms, the flirty little touches, or all the little kisses you dealt him every time you encountered him in the field.
Here’s a novel concept! Maybe don’t dish out what you can’t take.
“Compared to this place? Yeah,”
“Ouch, what’s got you in a mood?”
You leveled him a look. Terry leveled you with his own. You tilted your head ever so slightly to show the bruise blooming on your collar bone. He winced. His jaw clenched.  You instantly regretted showing him when his brows were carved with guilt. Normally, you liked looking at Terry. Easy on the eyes kind of handsome. He only looked punchable in the Batsuit. But you could never stand the guilt and worry on his face, especially when you were the cause. It wasn’t even his fault. You took the blow knowing your armor wasn’t quite as enforced. That was on you.
You sucked in a breath and rolled your shoulders contorting yourself away from the ever-present need to apologize. Instead, you waved your hand vaguely at the cheaply constructed haunted house. “Admit it, this place is-”
“isn’t that-” He looked around rubbing the back of his neck. “-bad?”
“Terry, the scariest thing about this place is how many credits I wasted,” you deadpanned looking down at your, now, lighter wallet. It wasn’t physically lighter but you were a drama queen and you had a point to make.
Terry chuckled at your antics and rolled his eyes. “It’s got its charms,” You raised your brow and crossed your arms. His shoulders slumped then straightened, a teasing quirk to his lip curling.   “Still better than doing that family studies paper,”
Ok, that you could agree on.
The rest of the walk was marginally bearable with you and Terry providing quiet commentary on each scare. It was hard to hold back laughter. Your body shook, nearly falling into a giggle fit several times. You got dirty looks from the others several times for the transgression of ‘ruining’ the mood.  You were a little impressed that they had managed to make a mood for you to ruin. After all, what’s more romantic than zombie clowns and warehouses?
 Your sides ached. You really wanted to just let out a laugh, a real full belly laugh but you hated your laugh. Terry, you thought, was aware of your broken plate laugh. Why did he keep trying to draw it out?
Your group made it into a large clearing. Your anxiety immediately ratcheted up with the wide-open space but relaxed after scanning the room. There was nowhere to put
Creaking and scraping of old rusty metals resonated in every corner.
Terry nudged you and pointed upward, directing your attention to the silhouette moving around in the rafters.
Your heart stopped momentarily but picked back up again as soon as you saw the graceless way the figure moved around.
A clown covered in gore and shards of metal jumped down from the rafters landing in the middle of your ragtag group. You scattered. You heard a few gasps. You even saw Nelson flinch. You took some petty satisfaction in being right.
You yawned less concerned with the crazy act he was putting on and more with how the hell he hasn’t landed on a single patron. You made your boredom plain. You’ve seen crazy.  Your sides throbbed in protest of the reminder.
You looked down to distract yourself only to be met with the sight of floppy red clown shoes. Genuine, floppy, red clown shoes. You pinched the bridge of your nose and bit your lip. Your body trembled from trying to contain the laughter roiling in your stomach.
The man continued to spout something about keeping you all here for his entertainment. Blah. Blah. You crossed your ankles and leaned ever so  slightly into Terry’s space, cocking your head to the opposite side.  You yawned into your hand muffling the sound as best you could in an attempt to be polite. Terry had other ideas.
Terry leaned down into your ear making an exaggerated snoring sound.  An ugly snort tore its way out of your nostrils loud enough to be heard over the clown’s overly dramatic soliloquy. You felt everyone’s eyes on you. You clamped your hand over your mouth to stifle the onslaught of snorts rising up from your chest. You narrowed your eyes at Terry who, at the moment, was also fighting his own fit of laughter. You couldn’t keep the smile off your face as you, in solidarity, tried not to laugh too hard at the expense of the wannabe Shakespeare actor.
You kind of felt bad.
Maybe.
Ok, you did. But not nearly enough to actually stop laughing. In your defense, Ace had more acting chops than this guy. But kudos, he was really into the bit.
He lunged at the two of you, fuming with smoke coming out of his ears. Terry grabbed you pressing you to his side and wrapping a protective arm around you. You let out an embarrassing little squeak. You witnessed as he cataloged it into the ‘stuff y/n is never gonna live down’ part of his brain. ‘Cute’ he mouthed silently. You cursed yourself. You turned to cuss at Terry-
The clown lunged at you again, murderous intent plain as day on his face. He snarled as you two dodged him easily with a quick sidestep. In the corner of your eyes, you could see the other actors look on in bewilderment.  One of them shook her head clearly exasperated. Ok, so you unintentionally pissed off one of the actors. Great. Now, what?
The man lunged for you again. Dodging gracefully, you two turned on your heels and bolted leading him away from the group. You could hear the group collectively cheering him on behind you as you made your escape.
Technically, you could just knock him out and maybe go back to the group. One of you was the goddamn Batman while the other was Stray, thief extraordinaire, after all. But between the gasp of laughter and the playful grin stretching across Terry’s face like hell that was happening.
You two ducked into a corner tired and panting. You press yourself against the cool metal of the wall with Terry shielding you from view.
“You ok?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,”  You whisper, shrinking into your leather jacket feeling keenly aware of your lack of undershirt as the heat radiating from his skin pressed against yours. He leaned against you, closing the gap between the two of you.  His panting breaths fanning against your skin, lips brushing against the bare skin of your collar.  You bit out a curse as the color on your cheeks darkened. You swallowed a lump, heart floundering again. You felt him smile against your skin.
You like to say it was anger that flared up in you. You really would but the heat suffusing in your body said otherwise. You pushed at him weakly. “We have to get back,”
Terry stepped back giving you space. You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding in.
“You sure you want to? Bozo is still looking for us. That and you’ll probably still be bored,”
You tapped your foot and tilted your head considering it. You looked into his face searching for something. You sigh inwardly. “Yeah, no. I really don’t wanna go back. The scariest thing is still the amount of money we wasted and I have yet to be scared shitless,”
He smiled at you victoriously. “I have an idea,”
You blinked at him.“Ok, great job! Now, I’m pissing myself with fear,” You teased. You weren’t a fan of Terry’s ideas half the time but hell if they weren’t entertaining.
Terry rolled his eyes at you holding out his hand. “You brought your goggles, right?”
“McGinnis, I didn’t exactly have time to go home and-” You stilled, feeling his eyes trail down your chest before darting back up. Normally, when you were in costume, you left the zipper of your jacket open showing tantalizing glimpses of your soft flesh. Terry was absolutely not opposed to your costume choice unless you were in danger which was rare (thank you very much). This was what led to your current blushing predicament not that the other aspects of your costume were any less complementary. You sighed inwardly before stammering out “Yeah, I have my goggles,”  Fishing them out of an inner pocket of your jacket, you waved them around half-heartedly.
“Schway! Come on follow me,” He said grabbing your wrist before you could see the flush creeping up his neck.
You rounded a couple of corners before stopping at a beam. He looked from left to right brow furrowed. He tapped his foot twice then somehow decided to go left. How the hell Terry managed to find his way around in the dark was a complete mystery to you. Your first guess is echolocation but the second, more logical guess, was that Bruce was a paranoid old man. Like a normal human, you were entirely dependent on the night vision mode of your goggles.
You stopped when Terry stretched his arm out in front of you. You squinted seeing another group of bored-looking patrons. You turn to Terry who was looking at them and seemingly analyzing the group and it clicked.
“Oh,” you whispered quietly as you understood what he was planning. He threw you a playful smirk knowing you wouldn’t be able to resist this golden opportunity to fuck around.
“I would like to go on record and say this is a terrible idea,”
“And yet you’re going along with it,”
You were about to protest but couldn’t really think of a good defense.
“You know, if you really wanted to scare them you could have just dressed up as old Brucie,”
You huffed and put your goggles on before crouching low. He followed suit bending low.
“Weeell, sorry. Your gremlin mug was the best I could do on short notice,”
You made a face of mock hurt which made him chuckle. “Am not,”
As it turns out, two vigilantes well-trained in sneaking around are actually pretty good at scaring people. In the last 5 minutes, you’ve scared four different groups of patrons all with varying reactions but all equally hilarious.
“Yanno we could probably scare Nelson,” Terry hummed innocently trying to keep the excitement out of his voice. You answered him with a vicious smile. “You just want payback for the prank he pulled yesterday,”
“And you want to see him  piss himself,”
This was true.
“Ok, fine. What’s the game plan?”
“I’m glad you asked,” Terry chuckled knowing he’s got you hook, line, and sinker. You scoffed but let him lean closer to you to whisper his maniacal scheme.
“If this works I am going to cry-” You crowed ducking behind another row of boxes as you quietly trailed your group.  “-Hand me your jacket,”
Completely avoiding your outstretched hands, he draped his jacket over you like a strange leather veil before giving your head a quick pat. “Hope you brought tissues then,”
“Like slag, this is gonna work,” You said quirking your brow and tilting your head to make the doubt plain on your face. Even with your vision impaired by your new headpiece, you could still admire how nice he looked in his shirt. Not that you let it show. You hoped.
“Just watch and learn nonbeliever,”
“Oh god he thinks he can pull off miracles now,” You sneered climbing on to his broad shoulders.
“Shhhhhhhh”
You pouted down at him crossing your arms. He shrugged his shoulders, the movement drawing a surprised yelp from you in turn making him snicker. You were about to open your mouth when your smoke trap was triggered.
Ok, this was a blatant abuse of your equipment but who was gonna tell you off? Bruce? Probably but the man was allergic to fun so being at a Halloween fair was, likely,  safe.
Thick waterfalls of white smoke cascaded down from the rafters, blanketing the floor with a thick mist of curling smoke. The group stopped almost mystified by how well-timed the eerie effect was. You had to hold back a derisive snort when they all turned to each other confused.
Because, yes, this is what your hours of booby trap training have been leading up to.
Truly, a magnum opus of spite.
You could already see Nelson readying himself to bolt even as Blade and Chelsea hung off his arms. Petty satisfaction bloomed in you.
Ok, you may be a gremlin.
You threw your voice in a shrill cackle letting it echo and bounce in the room over the too slow circus music playing in the background. It was a chilling sound, the kind that rattled in bones and traveled up the spine. One that you’ve only ever used for pranks during long nights at the lab. You even felt Terry freeze up beneath you. His grip on your thighs getting tighter. How on earth you didn’t yelp or squeak or make any other little noise at that was the true miracle.
“Wha- what’s going on?“  Blade squeaked, pressing into the group.
"Didn’t we just pass the last attraction?!”
“Are you sure it was the last?”
“I don’t know man!”
The group shrank in on itself as the conversation grew more panicked. You felt Terry shaking from holding in laughter. You nudge him softly with your heel. He took a breath and nodded to tell you he was fine.
“Oh children, there’s no need to fuss,” You coo sickeningly sweet. You see them swallow taking in your presence heavy as it was.
“The fun’s only just beginning!” You shriek flicking on the orange lights of your goggles. Your shrill, shrieking voice transmuting over the speakers filling the room.
They screamed, scrambled, and scattered. Your nearly 10-foot silhouette hovering over them. They tripped over each other. Some of them pulling at each other. Some stepping over feet in their haste to get away. Pure terror etched themselves on their faces.
You let them all sprint to exit, watching their forms all disappear before bursting out into laughter.
“Did- Did you see their faces?!”
“Please tell me you were recording,“
“wait-” You choked grabbing for your goggles. You made a show of checking and letting your shoulders fall in disappointment.
Terry looked crushed. A vicious grin carved across your face. “Relax, I was,”
Terry’s slumped against the crate as he leaned back. He ran his hand through his black hair and began to laugh again.
You put your goggles back to your jacket pocket. You clutched at his jacket letting your ugly laugh tumble out of your lips. Terry planted a kiss on your nose making your breath hitch.
"What was that for?!” Your hands flying to your nose. Your fingers traced the small patch of skin he touched.
“You were just too cute,” He laughed ruffling your hair.
How do you respond to that? How could he say things like that so casually? Does he not know how many heart attacks it gives you?
“Jerk”
“PFFFFT”
“Don’t ‘pfffft’ me!” You bit out, throwing his jacket at him.
“Pfffft”
He stuck his tongue out at you.
“I-”
“Ahem!”
You both looked up to see a security guard and Bozo glowering down at you. You gave them both what passed for a sheepish, but not exactly, apologetic look.
The burly guard picked you both up by the scruff of your necks and hauled you out of the building. He tossed you out back as Bozo yelled “stay out” from the comfort of the guards back.
“Kick us out yourself, coward!” Terry yelled, shaking his fist like an old man. You slapped your forehead in an effort not to encourage him. Bozo glowered at him from behind his meat shield. Terry snarled. You grabbed his arm to stop him from doing anything stupid.
“I knew it was you two,” Max sighed, hand on her hip.
“How’d you guess?”
“Circus music,”
You looked at her uncomprehendingly before remembering your well-documented discomfort with circuses. You slapped your hand against your forehead. Terry, helpful as usual, snickered at you.
 But before you could throw hands, Max spoke cleared her throat.
“You dumbasses are lucky they don’t press charges,” Max aggravated pinching the bridge of her nose. You had the decency to look a little sheepish at the accusation but Terry looked pleased which earned him a chastising look.
“Sorry, ma’am” You both grumbled as she pulled you both up.
All three of you walked in tandem.  Max let up the responsible act.
“Not the worst group date you’ve been on, right?” Terry nudged.
 “No, guess not,” You scoffed, giving him a kiss on the cheek. “Stiiiiill not as bad as that time you got us caught by the Joker Gang~”
“That wasn’t even my fault,”
————————————–
Thanks for reading! Also please do not do this in real life. They will get mad at you even if their haunted house does stink.

anon request: “I really love the way you write angsty stuff so if u want, can u write a scene where jungkook is like involved in illegal stuff like drugs or maybe he's a hitman, Y/N and Jungkook have a conflict about that because she's not happy with what he does, he gets hurt a lot but he enjoys his job and doesn't wanna give it up cuz he loves the thrill. It can be an emotional scene where Y/N tells him that she's afraid of losing him because of what he does. Honestly come up with anything, I don't mind 😂”
prompt: Jungkook is a druglord, you’re a waitress at a shabby burger place. He loves what he does and even though you try to ignore it, it scares you. You fear you’ll lose him if he doesn’t quit and he’s all you have. Your so called family are full of lies and if it wasn’t for Jungkook, you don’t know where you’d be. You wonder every night if the sirens you hear are for him—you pray it’s not for him. Secretly, he feels the same about you.
pairing: Jungkook x reader
genre: angst, drabble, mental health issues, mentions of murder, mature subject matter
author’s note: For the anon who requested this, this is for you! I hope you enjoy~ did i watch Truth be Told and decide to make the OC a twin? yes, yes i did
Tumblr media
When you opened your eyes, you started to feel around for your cellphone. When you couldn't feel for it, you rolled over and yawned, it's probably under the bed. That's where its gonna stay too. As soon as you got home from work, you fell face-first into your bed and taking a shower was the last thing on your mind. But now you're feeling the stale department store smell on your clothes. It takes about two minutes for you to roll out of bed and realize you that Jungkook should have been here by now. You grab your phone and see two missed calls and a text from 2 hours ago.
jungkook💖💫: im sorry ill be over a little later baby, something came up
jungkook💖💫: i miss you angel
You smile, he always misses you. And you miss him too, but you know he's probably out there in the slums of the city, doing what he does. How you lucked out with him, you have no idea. One night you were trying to call an Uber to get home from a birthday party at the club. It was around midnight and you had to work so you couldn't hang with the hardcore crowd. You went outside to call for a ride but you were being watched. Some guy kept catcalling, just outright harassing you. It was the scariest night of your life. You were telling him to leave you alone but he was drunk or high, either way, he wasn't all there. He snatched your phone. Just when you thought he was going to grab you, a black sports car, one you would have had to work two lifetimes to afford, stopped at the light. And before you know it, the man trying to get you is being dragged into the alley where he probably would have taken you. You remember being frozen, all you could hear was cursing and blunt force. The mystery man, whose car is still in the middle of the road, emerges from the dark corner between the buildings.
You were completely taken. The smile, the hair, the tattoos, and dangling earrings, paired with a striking gaze—he was an angel. He was so beautiful and he was just looking at you stand there with your mouth open.
"If there's one thing I hate, oh here you go," He hands you your phone and you get a nice look at his hand tattoo, "it's motherfuckers who can't leave women the fuck alone. Sorry you had to deal with that, but he won't be bothering you or anyone else after tonight, or use his hands again," He sighs, fixing his clothes a bit and wiping the blood from the corner of his lip, "are you okay?"
"Yeah, thank you," You slip the phone in your bomber jacket pockets, "not a lot of people would stop a stupid guy from bothering a girl they don't even know."
"Yeah, I'm Jungkook by the way," He introduces himself with a smile, situating his nice clothes, "do you- Um, did you need a ride? I'm not a creep I swear," He holds his hands up in surrender when you furrow your brows at the suggesting—great, now she thinks I'm a pervert.
"I didn't stop that guy as blackmail to get laid, I just-" He pauses to grapple for the right words, "I saw you just standing on the curb and I know it's not safe out here-"
"If it's not any trouble," You interrupt his rambling, "I live about 15 minutes away, I was gonna call a ride but if you don't mind, I'd appreciate it. My name is Y/n, by the way."
That night changed your life forever. It was the first time you had wanted to kiss a stranger, the first night you ever came close to a soulmate. He confesses to having seen you in the club, he was at the bar, refusing offers from every girl from the bartenders to cougars out on the town, at least that's what you always thought. In that little fifteen minutes, you got to know very little about him but you felt so comfortable sharing things about yourself when he asked. He dropped you off and said if you ever needed anything, to give him a call.
You never got to use the number because you ended up seeing him again. He showed up to your job, but he wasn't there for you, he was there for one of your money laundering and pill-popping associates. You were taking a break and for some reason, the break room was eerily empty. After you heard gunshots and the whole store went into chaos. You remember trying to leave and suddenly being swept away and into an outside electrical room apart of the building. You calmed down enough to realize that it was him but you were baffled.
"What're the odds that you would work at the same place as that bastard," He fiddles with the gun, tucking it to his side and flipping on the safety and pulling off his mask with a toothy grin, "do you remember me?"
"You?... Jungkook, how did you- Why are you-..." You make a small step back and swallow, scrambling to think of something to say. "Have you been following me like some creep?!"
"No! this is just a run-in by fate, I swear I didn't plan it. I'm not even supposed to still be here but I couldn't just leave, not without saying something to you."
"Okay...What do you want to say? I have to get back on the clock." You look him up and down, his all-black clothes and heavy boots intimidating but alluring in many ways.
"Wanna grab a coffee?"
For some reason, you said yes to the familiar stranger.
"Sure- I mean no! No, I can't Jungkook, I have to get back to work-"
"Trust me, just come with me," He extends his hand for you to take and smiles, "you won't regret it."
You took his hand and never looked back.
* * *
Nights like this.
When it's too early to ruin his life and too late to pretend like he wouldn't care. So when he shows up to the lounge to enforce an unpaid debt from a client, he leaves with bruised knuckles, two grand, and a rush of adrenaline. He went a little hard on the guy, but can you blame him? He messed up his plans. Tonight is date night, also known as 'crash at your place' night. It worked out though, you had to work late so he wouldn't be too tardy. Judging by the fact that you haven't answered your phone, you must be knocked out.
He slips his hand into his pocket and fumbles with his keys until he finds the one to your apartment. When he walks inside he hears the sink on and smiles to himself, you must've just woken up.
"Baby, it's me," He announces himself, "how was your day?"
"Fine," You step out in your work clothes, still trying to get your earrings out, "as fine as a day working for the devil could be."
"That bad?" You take note of the silk black shirt that's rolled up to his elbows, letting you see his beautiful sleeve of tattoos. When he comes dressed like this, and smelling like smoke you know he's been out into high-end clubs. The way some of the women look at him makes you feel small and a little self-conscious. But he always reassures you that you're who he wants, not some woman who sees him as an experimental one-night stand. When he tells you to meet him in the restroom because he needs to tell you something, you're reminded that you're all he wants.
"She screwed the schedule. My only day off was taken because her favorite, Kasey, has to go out of town."
He unbuttons the buttons on his shirt with deliberate fingers. "You walked out on a job for me before, remember that?" He smiles, letting his shirt fall from his shoulders like a dream. A bruise on his upper arm catches your attention but you don't say anything. "If you're not happy, just leave. I can take care of you, you can be my sugar baby."
"Yeah, my step-mom would love that, I could see it now," You cringe at the thought, "Hey, just a heads up, I'm not working or married but I have a sugar daddy who pays all my bills and lets me use his money for free, oh, he's also a drug lord. She'd really think highly of me then."
"Fuck Carol, she's a judgmental priss anyway," He comes up to you, hands finding your waist, "why do you care what she thinks about you?"
"I don't care what she thinks, but if she finds out she'll tell my dad and I don't want to hear it from him. If he pretends to not be disappointed by the lesser-twin one more time, I'll actually cuss him out...He's such a liar, he lied to my mom and he lies to me.”
"Quit saying that," Jungkook grabs you under your thighs, wrapping your legs around his waist so he can sit on the edge of your bed, "you're not the lesser-twin, you're the cute and sexy twin." You sit back on his thighs and you both laugh at his attempt to lighten your mood.
"Well, I'm not a successful surgeon and I'm broke as hell, but at least my boyfriend thinks I'm cute." His hands find their way to the hem of your shirt and pull it over your head, revealing a disappointing tank top.
"See, this is disappointing. Why are you wearing a tank top? It's a hundred degrees outside." He sighs, looking up at you like a pouting little kid.
"Because I want to," You grin, brushing his hair from his brows, revealing a scratch, "you're cut."
"Yeah, had a run-in with an old friend, we're obviously not friends anymore."
"You should take me with you on these deals and stuff, I'd make a great bodyguard for you," You joke, "if you showed me how to use a gun."
"You?" He giggles at the image of you secretly acting as a bodyguard, a dagger, and a gun in a garter under a skintight dress. "That's not a bad idea, they'd be too distracted looking at how fucking beautiful you are to see you as a threat."
"Yeah, I always saw as the Bonnie & Clyde type of couple," He leans up to kiss you and you smile through it before he pulls away, "eh, you need to shower, you smell like weed."
He furrows his brows, a snarky smile on his mouth. "And you smell like French fries, but I still kissed you.”
"Touche." You can't argue with that, the French fries smell gets to you too.
He picks you up, carrying you to the bathroom with a beaming smile.
"Let's shower then."
 * * *
A deal went bad, he got grazed by a bullet and spent a few hours at the emergency room.
When he pulled in to the driveway and saw your car, he sighed in relief—he was hoping you'd come. After work, you had come by earlier to clear your head and take a breather from your cramped apartment and rowdy neighbors. Ever since his 'new position' he was put up in this huge mansion, equipped with a full staff. Luckily, they were off tonight so no need to keep quiet.
It's getting late and you've been trying to watch a baking show to stay awake but it was getting difficult. He hadn't called or answered any of your calls or texts. When you hear the garage door open, your heavy lids lift and you yawn, trying to wake up so you can tell him how your day has been.
He opens the door with a deep sigh and he's glad you can't see the thick white bandage on his upper arm and tired shadows under his eyes because of the dim lights. "Jungkook, it's so late..." You mumble, sitting up. "what took you so long?"
"Yeah, baby, I just had a mix up with someone who owed the group a lot of money, they, uh- They opened fire and we had a lot to clean up." He offhandedly mentions that and goes to the bathroom to change and you just wait for him.
The painkiller is wearing off but he manages to brush his teeth and slip into some sweats and a t-shirt. After flicking the light switch off, he falls into bed with a heavy exhale. Glad to finally have him close so you can tell him about your terrible day, you turn to hug him, and instantly a wince of pain leaves his mouth.
"Sorry," You giggled, thinking he was just kidding until you see the bandage on his arm, "Oh my gosh," You sit up, hand reaching for his bandage with concern in your brows, "what happened?"
"It's nothing baby, I was grazed by a bullet and had to go to the ER," He spares you a weak grin, hand rustling through his damp locks, "but it's nothing, I feel fine."
It's always nothing to him. You lean down and place a gentle kiss on his forehead, one he would normally place on you. Nights go by and you know he's out there risking his life, not thinking how devastated you would be if one night he doesn't come back.
He caresses the apple of your cheek, lips parting when sits up to try to kiss you, but you pull away.
"Hey, I've had a long day I just want to kiss you," He sits up now, "talk to me."
"Talk to yourself, I'm going to sleep."
"Where the fuck is this coming from?" He glares at you, tone firmer than before. "Y/n, cut the crap. What's the problem?"
"Jungkook, there's no problem I just worry about you."
"I don't mean to make you worry," He speaks softly, "but you know this is what I do, I can't stop now, even if I wanted to."
"I know," Sadly, "but you're all I have."
He tilts his head, a bit confused. "What happened?"
"My sister called when I got off of work. My dad isn't doing well, his liver is in terrible condition and he needs a transplant...He's on a wait-list now."
Knowing the severed relationship you have with your family, he treads lightly when requesting this. "Do you want to go see him?-"
"No!" You snap. "Why would I want to see him? This is what he gets for killing my mother."
"Y/n, you don't mean that..." Jungkook gets uncomfortable when you enter that head-space, you become ruthless in your words and your eyes glaze over with something he has yet to understand.
"Why not? It's true. He was cheating on her, that's why he never came home and she thought something was wrong. So drove out in the middle of the night during a storm and ended up crashing into a tree, because of him. My sister has always defended him, but I think it's because she didn't like mom either...The two of them may have cried at the funeral but I know them, they were glad she left us. That's why I need you, Jungkook, I don't have them or want them..."
"Y/n, you have to learn to forgive them for whatever you think they did, it's going to drive you insane if you don't...Fuck them, spend your energy on us, okay?"
"I'm already insane, I'm with you, aren't I? You come close to being killed every week, and it bothers me to think you might not come home...But I'll go through that if it means I get to have you, I love you, I only love you..." You lay your head on his shoulder.
He’s your angel.
You aren’t sure what you are to him.

14 Firefighters Share Their Scariest Paranormal Encounters
The weirdest part of the fire was the 911 call. The callers wife was in the background screaming, “you f**ked him off now, look he’s gone and burned the place down”.
With grit and determination, every day firefighters bravely put their lives on the lines for us, but it seems it’s not just the flames these brave men and women face; from haunted firehouses to ghostly apparitions. Here are 14 of the most chilling paranormal encounters and ghost stories shared by firefighters from across the United States.
1. Guardian Angel
Our firehouse isn’t haunted, at least not on a regular basis, but one of our engines is.
Two examples I have personally seen and experienced are; first, we were responding to a call in a dark, secluded, industrial area one night when the engine suddenly sputtered, stalled, and coasted to a stop right in front of a railroad crossing with no gates. Just as we stopped, a freight train came through. The engine started right up and ran fine after the train passed.
The second example happened one blazing hot summer afternoon when we were called to a highway construction site for a burning shanty. We pulled up and began advancing the handline when it suddenly seemed like the hose became tangled up in the hosebed. We went back to the engine to check, and just then the shanty blew up into thousands of tiny pieces. There were NO tangles in the hose, and it wasn’t caught or hung up anywhere.
2. Mr Jones
Our fire department is haunted by a man named Mr. Jones. The story dates back many years before we built a new station. Mr. Jones died at the old firehouse from a heart attack after battling a house fire.
A chief told me a story once: ‘I went to the restroom which was off the hallway. On my way in, I sat my brand new pack of cigarettes on the file cabinet outside of the doorway. When I came out, the cigarettes were lined end-to-end down the hallway.’
Another firefighter about a year later also had a ‘Mr. Jones Experience.’ He and another guy were watching TV one night when the clock above the TV flew off the wall, landed in the center of the room, spun around a few times, then landed on a book shelf.
All of the ‘haunted firehouse’ stories never really had me believing until Mr. Jones gave me a story of my own. I have this thing about open shower curtains. I notice when they are open and I have to close them. I had walked into the restroom to clean it but forgot a trash bag. The shower curtain was open. When I walked back in, about 30 seconds later, the curtain was closed. That is the only story that is personal. Other than that, we have doors that open and close by themselves, lights that go on and off, stuff like that. So that’s my story and I’m stickin to it.
3. Jesus Christ
About seven or eight years ago, we arrived at a townhouse with heavy fire from the first floor on side one. After making entry, locating the fire in the kitchen, and extinguishing, we set about taking out a few windows for ventilation.
After the smoke had risen, we noticed that the living area to the rear of the kitchen (which was on the right hand side as we entered) had taken significant smoke and heat damage. On the wall was a picture of Jesus Christ, and it was the only object in the room that appeared untouched. Even the wall BEHIND the picture was smoke-stained and blistered.
There was evidence of two streams of water that had trickled from the lower corners of the picture to a point in the middle of the wall where they met and continued down to the floor. The odd thing was that the line had been pulled through this room and was flowing into the kitchen to push the fire out the front, through a large vented window. No water had been flowing in the room, and the steam produced had been pushed out the window. Even the FM was amazed, and we haven’t seen anything like it since. It kinda makes one wonder.
4. Steve
We have a protector. We had a member, Steve that was killed in the line of duty during a helicopter operation. Ever since he died, members swear they can hear him in the building at night. Doors close, open, etc. without explanation. Then one night we figured out why he was there.
One of our members who has been here about 15 years now was on duty. We have bullet proof vests we keep on the units, but in a back compartment. He heard that compartment open and close. He went out into the bay and looked at it, and for some reason he took the vest out and put it in the front seat. He’d never done that before.
Next thing you know, he’s toned out to a ‘sick call’ that after his arrival was deemed a shooting. Nothing happened to him, but the point was made.
Several such incidents have occurred. Whenever something big is about to happen, a unit door opens and shuts or a bay door opens etc. We always know.
5. The Phantom Handprint
On April 18, 1924, a firefighter named Frank Leavy was washing a window at the fire station. For some reason, he paused in his work, his hand resting against the pane of glass, and he told a friend who was standing nearby that he had the strangest feeling he was going to die that day. Just then, the station received an alarm call and the fire fighters were sent to a fire that had broken out at Curran Hall, an office building in Chicago. While fighting the fire, a wall collapsed and killed eight of the firemen… Frank Leavy was one of those killed.
The next day, one of the firemen noticed something strange about the window that Frank had been washing the day before. There seemed to be an unusual stain on the glass…. and it appeared to be the imprint of Frank’s hand at the same spot where he had been leaning the day before.
They tried everything that they could, but they could find no way to erase the strange handprint. It seemed to be etched into the glass!
An expert from the Pittsburgh Plate Glass company brought a special solution to the fire house, guaranteeing that it would remove the print, but it didn’t work. Over the years, there were suggestions that the pane of glass be removed, but many of the firemen argued, saying that it was not right to fool with the unknown. Besides that, it was a reminder, albeit a grim one, of their dead friend. And there was no doubt that the handprint belonged to Frank Leavy! An official from the city had come down with a fingerprint comparison and the prints matched those of Frank’s. For the next twenty years, the handprint defied all explanation and was a common attraction to visitors and other firemen from around the city.
Finally, on the morning of April 18, 1944 a careless paper boy tossed the morning edition at the fire house and shattered the window where Frank’s handprint had been.
It happened exactly twenty years to the date of when Frank Leavy died!
6. “You F**ked Him Off Now”
There was a fire about 6-7yrs ago. The call was weird from the start, the 1st due engine didn’t want to start (it was out on a run bout 20mins before) they get there, the house was fully involved. When they got there, the fire was burning in strange ways… at one point flames were shooting out a window, and taking a ninety degree turn upward. The investigator pictures show the face of the devil in the smoke and flames. I know it sounds BS, but I have seen a few of these pics, and have talked with some of the investigators. They were saying that the basement was rocking, when they went back the next day it looked as though nothing burned downstairs.
The weirdest part of the fire was the 911 call. The dispatcher said the callers wife was in the back ground screaming, “you f**ked him off now, look he’s gone and burned the place down”. These people were said to have been Satan worshipers, everyone in the Dept. is afraid to even go on that road for calls. Incidentally the name of the road is “Angel Hill” hmmm, pretty weird.
7. Footsteps
I worked for a department that had lost a few members in its time. Over the course of the first few months I was there, I noticed strange noises in the bay. Once, I walked in the front door only to hear the back door slam. I walked back to see who it was, and when I opened the back door, no one was there. There was fresh snow on the ground and no tracks.
Another time I went down to the bay in the middle of the night. I heard distinct footsteps walking around one of the rigs on the other side of the bay. I called out but no one answered. I got spooked and crept around the bay with an axe trying to find the intruder. No one there! I also got a really spooky feeling a few times when I was alone in the bay by the back door. Later, I happened to mention to the chief that I had heard some weird stuff in the station at night. He got a strange look on his face and said ‘Let me guess… footsteps behind Engine 3 and a creepy feeling by the back door!’ I got the same story from one of the captains, about hearing footsteps and all that. Guess someone’s still hanging around…
8. The Station in The Woods
Back at my old department before I moved to my current one I was assigned to the farthest southern station by myself with a single engine. The area was in a heavily wooded area of the district. At night it got extremely dark in that area, more so than the other areas of the dist. There were a lot of one lane dirt and paved roads as well as a few meth labs, and no police coverage.
I had had several occasions that I would hear dogs barking at a house near the station, and hear sounds outside the station like thumping noises, usually after 1 AM. I would go outside to look and no one would be there. These noises went on for about a week. Once I had a friend from another station come down to visit me but I was gone, he got scared off when he heard five loud bangs on the wall near the kitchen, of course he failed to tell me this. Another night I was in bed and saw a shadow outside my window walking in the flower bed. The shadow passed my window and then the person kicked the door near the bay. I crawled out of bed and called 911, while I was on the phone the person busted out the bedroom window, half scared shitless I ran to the engine and bailed north to another station with a higher staffing level. The PD responded and 45 minutes later searched and deemed the station safe.
I soon after moved from that station and it is no longer staffed even now 3 years later. I found out from a B/C later on that a previous FF had been attacked in the parking lot washing an engine, and that the station had had several other weird occurrences happen since it was built.
9. The Hose Tower Hanging
I too have heard of the strange noises that occur inside many of our firehouses.
We have a firehouse that late at night, you can hear chains rattling at the top of the hose tower. When you turn on the light and climb the ladder to the platform at the top of the tower, nothing is there. The rumor has it that back in the 50’s a probationer hung himself in the hose tower and wasn’t discovered for a week.
10. The Old Capt.
The oldest station in Lex., KY, is haunted, according to some of the old heads, by an old Capt. who died while on duty in his sleep on Christmas Eve in the 1940’s. He is said to have sat in an old cane bottomed rocking chair, that chair was put in the attic of the station after his death, where it is still heard to be rocking on occasion.
Chiefs have gotten calls from neighbors who were mad because they could see a fireman looking out of the upstairs window, but no one would answer the door. This usually happens when the engine company was out on a fire run or training. Engine started by itself and backed in to the wall one night (std. trans.). Some of the guys who have worked there would not even go in the house alone on payday to pick up their pay checks if the co. was out.
11. The Ouija Board
A fire company that I used to belong to is quartered in a building built in the 1930’s and it is unquestionably haunted. Odd things happen regularly such as bathroom stall doors being locked from the inside, tv and lights turning on and off, footsteps across the floor, yelling when nobody else is there, etc… A few members decided to bring in an Ouija board one night and see what they could find. It turns out that there are two ghosts, one is a past chief and the other is a small boy that used to live in a row of miner’s houses that has long since been torn down.
The chief confirmed his identity by naming other long dead members (so long dead that we had to dig back 50 years in the company’s records to even find their names!). The chief generally drags chairs around the meeting room at night and yells at members while the boy is constantly bouncing his ball on the upstairs floor. All of this only happens at night.
12. The Indian Arrowheads
My father’s volunteer fire company also found Indian arrowheads while they were digging for an addition to the firehouse back in the 50s, but they also unearthed cannonballs and buttons. If my memory is right, some expert said that the cannonballs were from the American revolution and that the buttons were from a Hessian soldier (Hessians were mercenaries that the British used against Washington’s army). BUT – strange things began happening while those items the firemen dug up were in the firehouse.
First off, anyone that touched the items got very ill with high fevers and rash. The guys that actually dug up the items were very bad off; and their feet became swollen and turned black and blue. The door to the firehouse would also swing open just as someone approached, and the doors to the huge cast iron firehouse oven would open and close all by itself. Someone in the company said that they should bury the items; put them back in the ground – and when they did everyone got better, and all the strange things stopped happening.
13. The Fortune Teller
My firehouse has had a run of strange happenings over the years also. Many of us have actually seen a misty figure move through the rec room and out to the apparatus room. Some of the crews have seen the figure together, others have seen him when they were by themselves. The usual doors swinging, chairs moving upstairs, people walking across the floor or up and down the stairs happens occasionally.
The really scary part was when a friend of a friend stopped by the firehouse with her kids for a tour. This woman practices tarot card readings, fortune telling and the like. She had never been in the firehouse before and had never known about any of the instances in the firehouse. After the tour she asked me if the firehouse had “guest appearances” often. I thought she meant the kids and said that we often have children take tours of the place. She corrected herself and asked if we had ever seen ghosts, I said, maybe-I’m not sure. She described our misty figure from head to toe exactly as he appears and said she had seen him. Do I believe, probably not much more than I had before that day but I don’t doubt anything.
14. Standing Behind Me
This story takes place in Fayetteville, NC and the department I used to work for there. When I was assigned to Engine 2, I had heard all kinds of stories of it being haunted. Footsteps, doors opening, writing on the wall, and even a sighting are all the things I was told about.
I heard some things once in a while but the one time I was really spooked happened in late 2000. I was lying in bed, about 2 am when I heard footsteps approach my bunk and stop behind me, between my bed and the wall. The first thing I thought was that I had slept through a call but then I saw that my LT was still asleep and I noticed the radio was quiet. I could feel someone standing beside the bed and as much as I didn’t want to I slowly turned and looked to find that there was no one there.

        She knew it was a bad idea going through with this.
        Proving oneself as brave just to appease those who she doesn't even belong with.
        She knew, but she still went through with it.
        (F/n) stares into the darkness surrounding her and her classmates.
        All on a 3 day field trip to the mountains the 2 college classes, mixed with freshman, juniors, and seniors, that came as well as the 3 teachers had set up their tents on the large campground. Night had fallen, they'd all had dinner and set up a fire, and most had gone to bed a good hour and a half ago.
        Including (F/n).
        She was woken up by a few of her classmates who pulled her out of the comfort of her sleeping bag, air mattress and tent into the cold of night and darkness only being lit up by the remaining flames licking from the fire pit. A few students are still up as well as an assistant, all watching the fire and telling stories.
        The group sneak around to make sure the others don't hear.
        "Why did you guys wake me up?" (F/n) asks annoyed. Her eyes are still tired but she's more alert as they embark into the shadows. The only light being that of phone flashlights the other students turn on once they're out of sight.
        "We're gonna have a bravery test, and your our friend right?" Hizaki grins at her, being the ring leader of this group and also a regular tormentor of (F/n)'s.
        She's uncomfortable. They know they could all get in trouble, but they still keep walking. She doesn't like this group. If she stays they could all die, her included. She wants to leave, but they may not even let her leave.
        "A bravery test?"
        "Yeah, it's almost 1 AM, didn't you hear about that one legend about these woods?" Nanikari asks, looking at the confused freshman.
        "A 1 AM legend…" (F/n) wracks her sleep deprived brain for a clue, but nothing. "No, I can't say I have. But we should get back-"
        "Apparently," Nanikari cuts her off,"If you enter the forest at 1 AM and wait, you'll encounter the ones who roam and control this place: hellhounds. Supposedly there are different types, but the one everyone sees most is possibly the scariest."
        (F/n)'s brow arches, skeptical but also a little intrigued. Legends aren't real. But it's interesting.
        "I see… But really, guys, we should be getting back," she cuts them off before they can continue. "What if they realize we're gone and we get in trouble?"
        "Stop being such a pussy," Hizaki bites out, (F/n) shutting her mouth. "Are you just gonna whine this whole time?"
        "Anyways, the hell hound I'd like to see is the one with 'blue flames'," Nanikari continues. "His fur is missing in some spots and where it is is covered in gross, burnt looking skin. Blue flames or smoke come out of his mouth, even when it’s closed, his fangs stick out of the lips, but the one thing that always stops people in their tracks…” The man gets a look on his face and says in a ‘spooky’ tone,”His eyessss.”
        “His… Eyes?” Yuki asks, the freshman looking like she was dragged along too, although she’s speaking up a lot less than (F/n) is.
        “Mhm, apparently they’re a bright blue, and the moment your eyes meet he has you, you’ll never escape, he’ll feed off your soul-!”
        “RAWR!” A senior yells, suddenly coming out of the bushes. Yuki and another freshman scream while (F/n) looks shocked, almost joining them but keeping her mouth shut. The boys all laugh before looking at their kouhais, Hizaki grinning and crossing his arms while they stop. They’re far from the camp, (F/n) starting to feel more and more nerve wracked by the second, and the senior who lunged out at them check his phone, saying,”It’s 12:50 AM, almost time freshmeat.~”
        “What exactly do you guys have planned here?” one of the freshman asks. They look as scared as (F/n) feels, even Nanikari appears a little on edge.
        “As said before we’re gonna be doin’ a bravery test. Why are we out doin’ it here? Simple,” Hizaki points out into the darkness and continues,”All you 3 gotta do is walk out until we can’t see you and you can’t see us, and stay out there for…”
        “20 minutes!” his meathead friend pipes in. Hizaki grins, agreeing with this, and holding up 2 fingers he replies,”Yep, 20 minutes. You can use your flashlights until you reach a spot, then you have to turn them off and wait. Not saying they’re real, but if a hellhound just happens to show up make sure to record it, got it? That way you have proof and just aren’t some pussies running away from the challenge.”
        “20 minutes?? Did you forget it’s cold out here, plus there’s more to worry about than some fake monsters?” (F/n) asks incredulously, arms held against her. Even with her coat and boots on it’s freezing. Plus she’d love to go back to bed.
        “So you’re wussing out?” The ring leader asks, (F/n) swallowing when he looks at her. Hizaki still lives in his high school fantasy of being top dog at school, and unfortunately he has the money and looks to make people follow him. The (brunette, blonde, etc) has seen first hand what happens when he’s crossed or someone doesn’t listen.
            “... Fine, I’ll take your challenge,” she answers after moments of silence. Turning she starts walking the way he told them to go, looking back at the other freshmen as they reluctantly follow.
        The winds pick up as they venture into the black. Their lights luckily lead them through the dark but as they keep walking there’s a visible change; the darkness seems to be getting thicker the further they go, and a mist seems to pick up that was not there before. The other two are starting to shake while (F/n) can feel her heart pounding in fear. Something isn’t right, but she doesn’t want to vocalize this.
        “Can you guys still see them?” She asks, the other two glancing back. It’s like they haven’t even gone that far, the seniors still somewhat visible, despite it feeling like they’ve been walking a lot more than they have.
        “Yeah, I can,” one speaks up, (F/n) cursing under her breath and continuing to walk. The moment they can’t see them she’ll lead the way back to camp, forget this stupid game. They’re all just risking getting sick or worse out here!
        The fog is getting worse, although in an odd way it is starting to appear like smoke. The air is also getting thicker with their fear starting to fill to the brim. And (F/n) smells something: a fire. Is someone burning something nearby?! The air is hotter as well with sweat starting to coat their skin, none of them no longer freezing cold but instead it feels like a fire is licking at their skin.
        “I’m feeling really hot, what’s going on?” Yuki asks, starting to panic while wiping beads from her forehead.
        “I don’t see anything, though, this smoke is so thick!” the other freshman complains, coughing. (F/n) has this uneasy feeling like they’re being watched. Are those jerks back there playing some sort of prank?? But looking back she doesn’t see or hear them, in fact it’s still dead quiet… “W-We should go back-”
        “O-oh my god…” Yuki mumbles with a tremble in her voice up ahead, the two looking at her confused. She walked further when she saw something, and following her gaze (F/n) can feel her whole body freeze and grow cold suddenly while her (eye color) orbs widen.
        Ahead of them is what looks like the figure of a very large dog; it’s limbs are thin but it’s paws huge with talon like claws. It’s fur along its back looks messy and black as night with tufts of it on its head sticking up with some laying over its eyes and snout. The rest of the fur that it still has on it's body is short and a light gray. As it approaches the bright blue eyes glowing in the smoke are hypnotizing and as it gets closer to where they can now see it more clearly (F/n) can make out the smoke billowing from it’s bared teeth. The most notable things about it, though, are the burn scars along its body as well as the… Staples?, a pair of horns sit poking straight up atop it's head, and shackles are clamped to each leg, chains dragging from each that have blue flames burning at the ends.
        "I-is that… The hell-hell hound they w-w-were talking about…?" The other freshman asks shaking. (F/n) doesn't respond, too busy trying to not panic even though every fiber in her being is telling her to scream.
        "O-Oh my god…" Yuki repeats, her voice giving away she's tearing up right now.
        The beast growls and as it's mouth opens azure flames start to spill out, it's eyes locked on them, especially Yuki. They're dead. It's going to kill and eat them, and no one will know what happened… It starts approaching Yuki, (F/n) almost hearing whispers of an unknown language as it gets closer, the sound clearly coming from the dog. And she sees it, the hound ready to pounce as it unleashes a howl that knocks them out of their frozen states.
        Yuki screams when it charges her, (F/n) gasping and thinking quickly and in a panic she grabs a nearby rock and chucks it at the monster's head. It smacks into its snout, being big enough to catch the hound off guard as it stops and shakes its head.
        "Run!!" (F/n) shouts, pulling Yuki's arm and starting to run away. The beast howls again before immediately rushing after them.
        When (F/n) looks back though it's gone; she's worried immediately, but doesn't stop running for her life, the other two doing the same with their hearts all pounding. But over her own beating organ the (brunette, blonde, etc) can make out another pounding. The sound of something else running with it's own feet hitting the ground in a chase. The air is still thick with smoke and hot, a clear sign the thing is closeby, and looking ahead the young woman almost doesn't see the seniors looking confused ahead of them, nearly slamming into Hizaki.
        "What the fuck?! What's got you all so freaked out?!"
        "Yeah, and what's going on?" Nanikari questions, the trio looking around.
        "No time to explain, we have to go!!" Yuki cries out, trying to escape the third senior's hold on her.
        "What, you guys didn't-"
        "Forget the fucking bravery test, we need to-" the other freshman is cut off by a piercing bowl and the rush of something coming straight for them. Without any warning Hizaki is knocked down from behind and they all scream and back up as the beast pins him and bites down on the crook between his neck and shoulder. Blood is seen, and the bully is crying out in pain, the others either unable to move as they watch in horror or running off screaming. It lets him go but then bites deep into his leg and starts to yank him into the forest, the boy clawing at the ground weakly and begging them for help.
        The monster stops when it's hit by yet another rock and it's cerulean gaze lifts to land on (F/n); she looks terrified with another stone in hand, not knowing what is pushing her to react, but shouting,"Let him go, you mutt!" she throws the other rock at the hound. Managing to hit it right in the eye it whimpers and backs up letting Hizaki go as he limply lays there. (F/n) takes in the immediate danger she's put herself in. If she gets out of this alive Hizaki better turn over a new leaf or something. The hound looks at her with the one eye uninjured and growls, it's target being the woman now.
        "Nanikari, grab him!" She yells at the other senior before taking off.
        She'll have to try to lose it in the woods, or get back to camp and tell the teachers to get everyone back to the buses and cars!! But where was camp again?!
        The sound of paws hitting the dirt not far behind her keeps her adrenaline high as her legs seem to keep going even as they ache. She takes turn after turn, loop after loop, even ducking under logs it's too big to go under. Over the sound of it's paws and her heart she can hear the cracking of fire, despite there not being any from what she can see. Whispers hide amongst the sound of flames, still unable to make out what they're speaking, but nearly slamming into a tree she ignores them. They must be there to distract her.
        When she's sure she's lost it at least for now she ducks behind a large tree and hides, her hand covering her mouth and nose tight. Her heart is thundering, when she hears it's footsteps crunching on the forest floor she tries to listen out for how close they are.
        It's sniffing around, growling when it can't seem to locate her. So its nose must not be top notch, good to know. Peeking out she watches it look around further from her before leaving the area in the opposite direction she's going.
        Once it's out of sight she sneaks off, moving faster and faster until she's still managing to run; her legs scream but she keeps going.
        Fortunately she sees Nanikari and the other senior looking for her along with a few other students, and panting she waves when one shouts,"There, I see her!!" They all start to run over.
        She smiles exhaustedly, starting to say,"Okay, I think he's gone, we need to leave tho-"
        The relief is short lived as she gasps in sudden pain when teeth bite into her calf and she falls down onto her stomach hitting the ground with a sudden thud. Now on her front she looks back in terror and shock, (eye color) eyes meeting that hauntingly fascinating blue as the hound starts to pull her away. She claws at the dirt, reaching for the others.
        "No, help, please!!" She cries out with tears brimming in her eyes.
        But nothing, no one helps her. They stand and stare too terrified to move a muscle. Even as their classmate is pulled into the darkness they don't even speak up, and (F/n)'s eyes widen. They're leaving her to die…
        She attempts a kick at the hound but her leg won't move, stiff and in too much pain to try to free herself. She peers back at her captor, her eyes once more meeting the beast's; the whispers fill her head again only this time they're more clear and without any control her consciousness fades until her head drops, the last thing she remembers being that of the hound letting her leg go suddenly as it manages to maneuver her onto its back.

But That’s Just How The Story Goes
Summary: Steven Universe Gem AU- Rubellite meets a Young Thomas Ships: N/A. Platonic all around. Warnings: Gem Corruption, fighting, mild peril/distress??, weapons, some almost-crying.... Yea no this is cute as heck for the most part.
Gainesville, Florida, 1996 -
Thomas was playing outside his house, enjoying his summer vacation at his aunt Patty who lived by the beach and was having fun when he heard a strange, loud, scary noise in the distance. Now, being six years old, his curiosity greatly outweighed his fear of the unknown and the dangers of running into it with no plan, so that’s exactly what he did.
When he got to the source of the noise Thomas found the strangest and scariest thing he’d ever seen, and before he could even comprehend the monster before him, he saw someone jumping at it, attacking it and keeping it from going any further where it could hurt people. So naturally, Thomas came closer to get a better look at the action.
Rubellite has been fighting this beast for hours, but it was very durable and nearly impossible to dissipate. He hasn’t faced that many corrupted gems before, most of them sticking to beach city where Rose Quartz resided, but he’s had some experience! This shouldn’t be so hard!
Just as he was about to attack it with his katana again, he noticed a young human approaching him and the beast, looking awed and amazed, and seemingly unaware of the risk he is putting himself in, and he rushed towards the small child, intending to tell him that he needs to leave. But the monster jumped high and landed in front of him, blocking his way and standing between him and the boy, and letting out its demonic, unsettling shriek.
“Out of my way you weird, stinky, octopus thing! I need to save that human!” Rubellite protested angrily and rushed past the monster to the young boy.
The monster roared with what seemed to be indignation and flailed its tentacles in the air in rage, demanding Rubellite’s attention.
“Go red guy! Defeat the monster!” Thomas cheered happily from where he was sitting at a fairly safe distance.
“That’s not my name, and you need to get out of here! It’s not safe for you!” Rubellite answered as he finally reached the boy.
“But you’re here, so I’m safe right? You can stop the monster!” Thomas said with the conviction of someone who was saying that the sky is blue, to him this stranger was a hero, and heroes stopped the bad guys and protected the innocent. It was crystal clear.
Rubellite was impressed by how brave this kid was but even more shocked that he trusted this strange red person with a katana to not only stop a giant monster but also keep a small human safe. He knew there was no talking this kid out of staying to watch what was probably a very entertaining show for him, so instead he gave him a dazzling smile and spoke with his usual confidence.
“You’re right, my small friend! I can indeed protect you from this foul beast, but I must ask that you stay where you are! Sit tight and don’t act recklessly, and all will be well. Can you do that for me?”
“Yeah! Now go defeat that thing, because it's coming for you!” Thomas exclaimed excitedly and pointed behind the hero’s back, where the monster had started running towards him.
Rubellite quickly raised his katana and whipped it at the monster as he turned to face it, the blade bending to form a kind of whip, and then he spun it fast above his head until it became more of a lasso.
“Holy Smokes!” Thomas yelled, having witnessed just about the coolest thing ever in his 6-year-old little life.
“Time to finish this!” Rubellite announced, determination clear in his voice, and if anyone were to look in his eyes at that moment, they would see his fear over the possibility of failure, because if he failed it wouldn’t just be him getting hurt, it would also be this young boy whom he promised he would protect.
With a grunt of effort, Rubellite tightened the lasso, causing the monster to let out a desperate roar, almost sounding like a cry for help. Like it’s begging. For mercy? For Rubellite to finish the job? He wasn’t sure, but it shook him to his core for some unknown reason. Deciding he’ll dwell on it later, he kept pulling the lasso tighter and tighter until finally-
*POOF!*
Thomas clapped his hands loudly and excitedly, rushing towards the hero. “That. Was. AWESOME!” he yelled excitedly.
Rubellite laughed at the child’s enthusiasm. “I’m glad you think so, little friend. But there is still one last thing for me to do to ensure that you and every other citizen is safe from this foul beast!” he allowed himself to slip into his dramatic and charming persona, now that the worst was behind him.
But just as he picked up the corrupted gem to bubble it, he saw what, or rather who, it was.
That Navette cut gem was not only undeniably a Heliotrope, the red dots that nearly overtook the entirety of the green gem, even though Heliotropes are only supposed to have a few red dots and be predominantly green, made Rubellite absolutely certain that he had just fought and poofed his own brother.
“Oh, Bloodstone… I’m so sorry,” he whispered, fighting back tears and choked sobs as he held the gem, running his fingers over it for a few seconds. He always knew that some, if not most of the corrupted gems were Crystal Gems, but knowing it in his head and seeing it with his own eyes were two very different things.
“Are you okay, mister?” the child’s voice suddenly snapped him out if his thoughts, and he took a shaky breath. ~Get it together Rubellite! This kid thinks you’re a hero, if you cry in front of him he’ll be worried and scared!~ he scolded himself and took a deep, slightly more stable breath this time, before turning to Thomas with another charming smile, though his eyes shined with unshed tears.
“Of course, young adventurer! I’m absolutely fine, just a little tired from the fight. But it’s over now. Well actually-” he paused for dramatic effect and demonstrated the bubbling process to the young boy
“Now, it’s over!” as he tapped the bubble and saw it disappear, he knew that his brother would be safe with the crystal gems, which made him feel a little better.
“That was so cool! How did you do all those things? Are you magic?” Thomas started asking a lot of questions and Rubellite smiled fondly.
“Tell you what kid, you answer a question from me, and I’ll answer a question from you. Is that alright?”
“Okay!”
“What’s your name?”
“I’m Thomas Sanders. What’s your name?”
“My name is Rubellite!”
“What? That’s not a real name!” Thomas laughed as if Rubellite told a very funny joke.
“Oh yeah? Well, what do you think my name is?” He asked Thomas with a small smile.
“Hmm… Ronald?”
“That’s not it. Try again.”
“Robby!”
“Not that either.”
“I’ll find out, you’ll see!”
“I’m sure you will, Thomas.”
“But wait, are you really magic?”
“Kind of. I’m from another planet if you call that magic.”
“You’re from space? No way!!”
“Yes way! Okay, next question. How old are you?”
“I’m six years old!”
“Oh my stars! That is very young!”
“Oh yeah? How old are you?”
“I’m thousands of years older than you, that’s for sure.”
“Yeah right! Nobody is thousands of years old!”
“Maybe no human is, but I’m an alien, remember?”
“So you’re really thousands of years old? That’s amazing! How long have you been on earth? Did you know a lot of old-timey people? Oh! Is your name Romeo?”
“Romeo? Like the characters from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet?”
“Yeah!”
“How does a six-year-old know Shakespeare’s plays?”
“My aunt Patty likes to read it out loud a lot, sometimes out of nowhere. She also told me he lived a long time ago, so if you were here at that time maybe you knew him and he named his character after you!”
“That is a nice thought but if that were the case the play would have been called Rubellite and Juliet. Say, that doesn’t sound half bad…” Rubellite chuckled lightly.
“I don’t believe it! I know you have a real name! Rubellite is just like your hero name, right? Like Spiderman! his real name is Peter Parker!”
“You like comic books?”
“Yeah! I like superheroes! They’re so cool and brave, and they’re never afraid to help and they have lots of friends!”
“You know, I happen to know a team of superheroes myself. You could say I’m one of them.”
“Really? Who are they?”
“They’re called the Crystal Gems! They fight to protect the earth from monsters and evil aliens.”
“But, aren’t you an alien?”
“Yes, but there are good aliens and bad aliens, just like there are good and bad humans. The Crystal Gems are the good aliens and they fight anyone who threatens the earth because they left their planet to be free. Here on earth, they can be whoever they choose to be!”
“Wow! So you wanted to be a hero?” Thomas looked hopeful and curious.
“Not always. When I first came to earth, I was very young and very different. All I wanted was to be myself, to be allowed to exist. My planet didn’t like who I am, but Rose Quartz, the leader of the crystal gems, told me that I am exactly who I need to be because I’m who I choose to be.”
“So when did you become a hero?”
“When we started fighting for the earth. Our planet wanted to destroy the earth with all the gems who left to live in it, but we stopped them! And now we stop these monsters as well.” Rubellite explained with as little detail as possible, as to not frighten young Thomas, though his voice faltered a bit, no longer feeling comfortable calling his fallen friends monsters.
He always thought that if he kept referring to them as monsters, fighting them would be easier, but it’s not. He now knows it’s never gonna be easy for him.
“So wait, how long have you been on earth for? We’re you here before Shakespeare?” Thomas was still wondering about that part, there was no way he was around before Shakespeare, right? He lived like, a million years ago!
“Oh much longer! I’ve been on earth for almost 6000 years!” Rubellite said proudly, knowing Thomas will find this impressive.
“Wow! I can’t believe it! You’re so old!”
“That’s one way of putting it, I suppose.”
“Well, do you like Disney movies? Even though you’re so old? I like Disney but everyone tells me it’s just for kids because it’s cartoons.”
“Are you kidding? I love Disney! It’s so magical and fantastical and beautiful! And it is not just for little kids, thank you very much! They are wonderful animated movies and they are entertaining for every age. Even for aliens who are thousands of years old.”
“Really?!”
“Absolutely!”
Rubellite saw the sun was starting to set and he turned to Thomas. “well Thomas, it was nice meeting you but I think it’s getting a little too late for you to be outside, and you don’t wanna worry your parents.”
Thomas looked very sad, he didn’t wanna say goodbye to his new friend yet. “But I still need to guess your name!”
Rubellite frowned at the little kid’s sad expression, but then he got an idea.
“Well, I suppose because it’s getting late and you’re so tiny-”
“Hey!”
“It would be irresponsible of me to let you go home all by yourself. So maybe I can walk with you till you get home and you can try to guess my name. How does that sound?”
“That sounds fun! But what if you also try to guess my favorite Disney movie?”
“Alright, it’s on!”
And as the two started walking towards Thomas’s house, despite everything that had happened that day, Rubellite felt truly happy.

I am so damn angry
(Rant alert, so if you're not interested, just skip this post)
Alright, I'm so pissed about all the shit I've been going through the last few years of my life. (I'm currently 15 almost 16 rn)
It all happened with my dad. To put it in short, he emotionally manipulated me eversince I was a little kid. In context, I've been living with my grandparents for as long as I can remember due to my dad nor mom having stable jobs and my grandparents (mom's side) were generous enough to let us live with them for this many years.
I was extremely close to my grandfather, he would actually act like a dad then how my own father was. My dad was, to put it in short, a deadbeat. He would always lock himself in our room and just watch TV, if he isn't working. He would always tell me that my grandparents (more especially my grandfather) were bad people and to not get close to them. He also manipulated my mom from visiting her own family (sisters, brothers, etc.) So, we were basically closed off from them all.
Growing up, he was extremely overprotective over me. He wouldn't let me have guy friends, so I would just lie that I didn't have them when I did. I was extremely passionate in ice skating, it would of helped me be more in shape and I would do something other than being locked all day In my house. But he didn't let me, due to the outfits being "skimpy" and "would attract too much male attention" EVEN THOUGH I was fucking 7-9 years old when I took interest in it, I didn't even know how babies were made, and I wasn't even interested in "attracting" boys.
In my early adolescents, I started to get a bit into more "girly stuff" aka make up. I wanted to learn to wear make up to make myself feel pretty. And my mom was all for it. But my dad yelled at my mom, "She's not allowed to wear that shit until she's 18." Most of the girl's from middle, already knew how to wear makeup, and I didn't know Jack shit, I felt extremely left out.
And then, one day, it all came crashing down. It was a seemingly a normal day for me. It was after school, (when I was maybe 11 or 12) me and my mom walked into the house when we heard my grandfather talking to my grandmother. I can't remember especially what he said, but he said something about kicking my dad out.
My mom immediately went to her room, grabbed a suitcase. Practically shoved all of our stuff into it, grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the house.
I should of probably mentioned this before, but my mom was pregnant with my brother at the time and, by command of my father, hid it from my grandparents.
The two must of heard my mom slamming the door and my grandma almost immediately called my mom and asked her what happened. My mom basically dropped an atomic bomb on my grandma and told her that she was pregnant and hung up on her.
After that, we would be homeless for the next couple of months. We would sleep in the car and jump from hotels and motels depending on how much money we would have on us. We would also stay with friends until my brother would be born.
At this point my brother was born. One day, someone offered my dad a job in Florida. He quickly accepted and we would have a road trip to Florida. At first I was enthusiastic, I wanted to think that this would help us have a house and have actual food.
But then, when we got there. The man said that would get us a job wasn't even in Florida, but was in another state where there has been a lot of snowing. So, we basically stayed in a rest spot for maybe a month.
At this point, I haven't been in school for five months. For some people, it would be a blessing. But for me it was a nightmare. It was extremely boring and I had nothing to do. I was, once again, locked in a small space.
My dad was a addicted to smoke. And people with addiction know if if you can't have the thing that you are addicted to, you'd get angry and would do anything thing to get it.
One day in that nightmarish month, my brother was crying because of not eating all day. My mom couldn't lactate and we haven't had money to buy him any milk. So, of course he would be cranky. My dad didn't have any cigarettes that day, and then he yelled at me and my mom the scariest thing that still echoes through my mind to this day.
"Quiet that thing up before I kill it."
For me, an eleven year old to hear those words come out of his mouth, I officially become scared of my father. I didn't cry, because I was scared that my father would kill me.. My mom was scared and immediately picked up my brother, and pulled him as far away as she could from my father. My dad immediately left the car when I broke down.
None of us would talk to each other for a while.
The two then got a job in a hotel. That was the time when I was forced to grow up. My parents had night shifts. So I would stay up all night so that I would take care of my brother. I was basically a second mother to my brother. I would be the one to feed him, dress him, bathe him, play with him. I had to grow up faster than most so that I could take care of him.
My parents were rarely there in those times. I tried to stay positive, and tried not to complain. But how could I tell my parents I didn't want to take care of my brother, even though they couldn't be there so that they could get money. I just couldn't.
It was because of this that it's extremely hard for me to even be clear with my emotions towards people. I would always bottle it all up, and try to not let it show. Yet, I'm naturally a very emotional person so it's extremely hard on me on a daily basis.
I had grown used to changing my brother. To others it would be disgusting, yet for me, it was nothing due to how many times I had changed him that I didn't bat an eye when changing him. My dad, when he would be on break, would force me to change him if he pooped. it disgusted him, I had to do it and I was barely getting into puberty.
I had nothing to do, other than taking care of my brother. I had no friends, I did have a phone, which is where I got my passion on writing. I had finally found something I was truly passionate that no one could take away from me. I would write fanfiction about creepypasta when ever I had the time.
(Which is extremely cringy looking back at it, but it came from a time that I needed something to entertain myself so I kind of look at them in pride.)
To get specific of how we lived. We were cramped in a small generic hotel room. We lived across a Walmart, so we would walk over and get microwaved food so we would have something to eat. We would only eat once a day so that my brother would have more to eat. So, there would be days were I wouldn't eat. I had gone on not eating for maybe 2 almost 3 days. I know what starving feels like.
I can't remember when, but our car got taken away due to not paying for it. The owners were threatening on kicking us out for basically the same thing. So, we were forced to call our grandparents so that we wouldn't be homeless without a car.
During this whole time, my father was putting ideas into my head about how it was their fault that we were homeless for a year.
When they finally came, i didn't talk. I was in a position of being extremely touch starved but didn't want any physical contact with anyone. My grandfather tried to talk to me, but I still couldn't talk. It was like I was forcing myself in not talking.
A few days after, we finally came back to my hometown. They did everything to help me feel back at home. They would take care of my brother so that I wouldn't worry, and even got me back in school.
Everything was looking up. Another thing I should of mentioned is that my parents started to fight a few weeks before going back in my hometown. It would sometimes go from a small disagreement to a full blown yelling contest.
I would always lock myself and my brother in the bathroom and tried to distract my brother by playing with him.
When we got in my hometown, the fights seemed to have gotten worse. I could get a full blown panic attack when ever people would yell at me. I would shut down until was alone in my room when I would start to cry and curl into a ball.
One day, my mom decided that it was enough for her, and decided to leave him. He began to cry, begged on his knees to my mom to let him stay. But she refused. He asked my grandfather if he could atleast sleep in the car in our parking yard but he refused. He came into my room and told me that my mom didn't want him anymore.
In some ways, I knew this was happening. My mom told me, and it gave me trust issues. Mostly towards men and love in general.
I was struggling with sexuality at the time. I was interested in guys romantically, but then I started to get into girl's as well. I come from a strict Christian family, (and I am a proud Christian as well) but most of my family, apart from my cousins, were some what against the lgbtq+. Like, they supported the people who were outside of the family. If it's outside of the family, they would be fine. So I was scared of coming out as bi-curious.
I told me mom one day, in a care ride but she told me that the moment I started to date, that I can't be bi. Even though you don't have to date to know that your sexually interested in the opposite gender.
This is already a long post, I'm sorry. I just wanted to get this out of my chest. I want to get therapy but like I said I'm very closed off with my emotions and my mom wouldn't believe me. I already made a post about my room situation.
Again, I'm sorry for this lengthy post. I just wanted to get this off of my chest, and no one that knows me personally is here so I don't have to worry.
If anything wants to ask for anything, feel free as long as it's not too personal (than it already is lol)

Disney Villains Tag
Found on YouTube!
1. Who is your favorite villain(s) and why? I have more then one. I’ll say current Favorites are Hades because of his humor and he was extra hot in The Descendents ;) and Jafar,wasn’t a big fan of him in the live action,but yes I do have a crush on the cartoon version,it’s the beard!
Tumblr media
Wish they had kept that ^ scene in the live action.
Tumblr media
 2. A villain you would love getting in trouble with? Hades would be super fun.
Tumblr media
3. A villain's bad side you wouldn't want to get on? I mean probably don’t want to make any of them mad tbh. No I won’t put Hades even though he is essentially the God of Death lol I’d say Maleficent since she is a bad ass Sorceress,can turn into a Dragon and gets angry over the smallest things (like not being invited to a party),though in the movie it was bigger then that.
Tumblr media
 4. Favorite villain quote?  Hades : We dance, we kiss, we schmooze, we carry on, we go home happy. What do you say? Come on.
Well, as far as brains go, I got the lion's share, but when it comes to brute strength...I'm afraid I'm at the shallow end of the gene pool.―Scar
5. Favorite villain song? Be Prepared-Scar,Lion King.
Tumblr media
 6. Most relatable villain? Someone said Teka/Tefiti from Moana and I can totally see that,I never really think of her as a Villain but I suppose she’s the closest one they have in Moana. having your heart stolen will do that to you. Otherwise I’d say Live action Maleficent.
Tumblr media
7. Most overrated villain? Some have said Cruella Deville and I believe she’s not the best villain to look up to since in my mind she promotes smoking and Anorexia plus Animal Cruelty but I’d have to say also Yzma.(Speaking of body disorders...yes I know they are both old),I mean yeah she can make potions and she has at least one henchman (though Kronk later becomes a good guy),but she’s more of a caricature,more funny then intimidating,plus the only person she goes after is The Emperor. Granted I’ve only seen Emperor’s new Groove once,maybe twice and didn’t care for it.
Tumblr media
8. Most underrated villain? Dr Facilier because Princess and The Frog doesn’t get enough love as it is. But there are others who get even less. Prince John for example.
Tumblr media
9. Favorite Scariest villain scene in a movie? Jafar as a snake scared me so much as a kid. Otherwise I’d say Scar killing Mufasa.
10. If you could choose any movie to watch from that villain's perspective, which movie would you choose and what would it be called? I’m not good with titles but someone said Assistant Mary Bellwether from Zootopia and I think that would be very interesting. Might make her a more sympathetic character too. Otherwise I think Ursula would be interesting.
Tumblr media
11. Favorite villain merchandise? I don’t have any,except some Pins and a Scar Figure but I would say anything with the poison apple on it usually catches my eye so Evil Queen merch.
12. Least favorite villain? I used to not like Dr Facilier but that all changed after watching Descendants 3 lol. Now I’d say Hans and Frollo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
13. Favorite villain sidekick? Lefou! Animal sidekick would be Iago.

You want to mug me? Enjoy the wheel chair and permanent brain damage.
Okay, to preface this entire fucked up story, this all took place 30 years ago. My memory is not that great, and I might get some things wrong. Also, I go into some graphic details, you have been warned. TL;DR at the end.
In 1989 I was a 19 year old kid living in NYC. I was working as a delivery guy at a dingy hole-in-the-wall pizza place in Hell's Kitchen that's long since gone out of business, and living paycheck to paycheck. I had moved to New York looking for work after my uncle's construction company went under, and had found a tiny shit hole of an apartment which was the only thing I could afford on the salary I got from the pizza place. The only reason I took the job was I needed money and it was extremely close to my apartment, only a short walk down a back alley (hint hint, the alley is important).
I want you all to keep in mind while reading this, the New York of 30 years ago was not the touristy New York of today. Murders were a lot more common, you would see hookers working the corner pretty often, Times Square was a cesspool of nudey-bars and porn theaters, gangs would rob people on the subway, and it was almost every day where I lived that you would see a druggie passed out in an alley or along the side of the road.
The whole ordeal started just after closing one night in July. The guy who owned the joint, Paulo, said that I could take some leftover pizza home with me that had been sitting under the heat lamp all day, but hey, at least it was free. I had been working at the pizza place for about a year by this point, and I was on really good terms with Paulo and his brother Joseph who both ran the joint. Paulo was easily pushing 300 pounds and had a habit of smoking a giant cigar while cooking. Joseph was always in the back handling the money side of things and taking phone orders. The restaurant had an exit into the alley which I would take to get back to my place. There would usually be a homeless vet named Alfonso that would sleep next to the hot air vent behind the place who would bum a smoke off me and we would shoot the shit for a few minutes after my shift. After talking with him I started to walk home, and after I had gotten quite a distance away down the alley I heard some bottles rustling behind a dumpster that was right ahead of me. My first thought was it was some rats, until this crazy-eyed dude swung out from behind it with a hunting knife in one hand and a metal bat in the other.
I remember this guy looked like your stereotypical druggie, track marks all over his arms, disgusting clothes on, wild dirty hair, and fidgeting like no tomorrow. He started yelling and half screaming at me to give him my wallet. At that point my adrenaline was through the roof as I had never been mugged before. I was carrying the pizza box with two hands, and when I shifted it to my left hand to reach into my back pocket for my wallet with my right, he started advancing on me. He started muttering to himself asking why I was doing that and sort of grunting while jabbing at the air in front of him. At this point I know this guy is high off his ass on something or a definite head case.
He was really close to me by this point, and before I could take my wallet out he loaded up his right arm and slashed me across my face with the hunting knife just below my left eye. At first it didn't really hit me, and I was stunned for a second. It was at that point I started thinking, "this is it, I'm gonna die in a fucking alley over the 4 bucks I have in my wallet". That's when I decided to start fighting, if I was going down, I was doing it swinging.
I threw the pizza box in his face which made him step back a little bit, and using both hands I grabbed the bat out of his left hand that he was still holding. I flipped it around, and aimed for the outside of his left knee which was the one closest to me. It connected and I heard a snap when it buckled inwards. This brought him to one knee, but he started to get back up again like he couldn't even feel it. I swung as hard as I could and hit the left side of his temple which made a crunch sound before he crumpled to the concrete.
I remember being so incredibly scared, absolutely terrified. I don't remember much after this. Years after this happened when I went to see a psychiatrist for other reasons and this was brought up, and she told me it is likely because my mind was trying to shield me from the trauma of the whole experience. The next thing I remember is being soaked in blood and standing above this guy. I knew he was still alive, as he was gurgling blood out of his mouth and his chest was still rising and falling. There was blood coming out of his ears, nose, and mouth. His right hand and arm that had been holding the knife was a mangled mess with fingers jutting out every which way while the knife was a good 4 feet away on the ground.
I dropped the bat and half stumbled, half walked back to the pizza place. Alfonso had heard the screaming and come to look. He told me that I had a glazed over look to me and I was almost entirely soaked in blood. He led me back to the pizza joint where Joseph started called the cops and Paulo grabbed a bottle of cheap Prosecco we had from below the counter to douse my slash with while stemming the bleeding with table napkins.
I spent the night in the hospital because apparently I was disorientated and so confused I didn't know where I was because of blood loss. The next day I was doing better, and there were two cops that came to take my statement. After I had told my side of the story the older looking of the two cops said that after 10 years on the job that guy took the worst beating he'd seen anyone take and survive. The younger looking one started telling me what I had done to the guy which included: severed knee ligaments, broken and dislocated fingers, broken ribs which had punctured a lung, a broken femur, multiple crushed and pulverized bones, a severed spinal cord with a couple broken vertebrae, a burst ear drum, multiple teeth knocked out, completely fractured jaw, a broken nose, a burst eye, a destroyed eye socket, and a completely destroyed cheek bone. He also told me that I had hit his skull so hard there was spinal fluid leaking out of his ears.
They said that they had spoken to Alfonso, Paulo and Joseph, and they corroborated my story that the bat was the junkie's and I had most likely acted in self defense. Although I had no answer to their question of why didn't I stop after he went down besides "I don't know" and "I don't remember". After a couple days I was discharged and after just a little while I was back to working at the pizza place. Although I now had a massive scar running down the side of my face and Paulo jokingly called me scarface all the time. Even now I jokingly say to my wife before sexy time "say hello to my little friend" which we still giggle maniacally about together. I was also super jumpy right after the fact whenever I heard bottles clanging together, which unfortunately happened a lot because Joseph used to take the empty coke bottles to the recycling plant at the end of every week.
What made me tell this story here is that recently I thought about how much of the junkie's blood might have gotten in my mouth or in the slash across my face. At the time it happened the whole HIV/AIDS panic was in full swing, and the guy being a junkie instantly made me realize how much shit I could be in. If I was infected without knowing it I could have passed it onto my wife or even my children by accident. After quite the panic between me and my wife because of overlooking this we got the blood results back just a bit ago and thankfully I'm completely clean. My doctor said that if I was infected back then symptoms would have likely manifested by now as well.
So there, that is my incredibly long winded story about one of the scariest events in my life, and the resurgent panic it brought up just a bit ago. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about it, but I'm taking a flight for work in a bit so you probably won't get a response from me for a few hours.
TL;DR: Used to work at a dingy pizza place, was slashed across the face by a mugger, beat him half to death, got a cool scar, and 30 years after the fact had a panic that I might have gotten HIV.

Rating: Teen
Warnings: Underage drinking/smoking
Ship(s): Javid, background sprace and Newsbians
Notes: This is pure fluff. Im so sorry it took me this long, brain is a bitch but i really tried.
~~~~~~~~~
Davey Jacobs was, as they say, a good jewish boy. He didn’t drink, he didn’t smoke, and the only drugs he took were his antidepressants and anxiety stabilizers.
So, how the fuck did mister golden child end up at a party like this with friends like these?
Around him, the friends in question danced around Katherine’s living room as Billie Eilish filtered through the speakers. Half of them were drunk off the vodka Mush had somehow gotten hold of and the other half were high from the weed Davey knew Albert got from one of his older brothers, even though the red-head swears he has some top secret dealer.
The only sober one aside from himself was Spot, who didn’t drink and refused to get high with so many people around. Davey had really only ever seen him high once, and that was the night of Jack’s 17th birthday when the five of them, Crutchie, Jack, Race, Spot, and Davey himself, all went up to the roof to smoke.
Apparently, the King a’ Brooklyn was a giggly stoner.
Davey also found out that he was a philosophical stoner, but he’ll keep that to himself. He would actually be murdered if his mother ever found out what really happened at Jack’s 17th birthday party, and he quite enjoyed being alive at the moment.
Now, ever so tragically, the only other sober person there was currently making out with Race on the couch, and Davey had less than zero interest in going anywhere near that. So he stood against the wall, sipping his lemonade and laughing quietly to himself when his intoxicated friends made absolute drunken fools of themselves.
He heard a commotion from the other room, but before Davey even had time to wonder what it was, Jack somehow appeared from the void and draped an arm around Davey's shoulders. Though he had gotten much more used to the casual touches and surprise arms slung around his shoulders, Davey's brain still gave him a brief error message whenever it happened.
He shook it off and looked at Jack with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes?”
“Hey Dave” he slurred in the taller boy's ear. David shook his head and tried his hand at a grin, though it looked more like a grimace when he scrunched up his nose up at the sent of the strawberry liquor.
“Hello Jack”
“Hey Dave?” This time it was a question instead of a greeting.
“Yes Jack?”
“Hey Daaave?” Jack either didn’t hear him or was too drunk to register that Davey had answered already. Davey just snorted softly and rolled his eyes.
“Whaaaat?”
Jack paused, looking up at him with the best puppy dog eyes his intoxicated brain could muster. Davey, for his part, was pretty okay, amused even, despite the fact that the smell of vodka on Jack’s breath was starting to make his head hurt.
“You should come play truth or dare with us,” he said, and immediately Davey ducked away, causing Jack to stumble forward without Davey to hold him up.
“No”
“But Daveyy!”
“But nothin’” davey crossed his arms and fixed Jack with his best motherly glare. Alas, it did not work and Jack just tried again.
“C'mon!” He tugged at Davey's arm and gave his best pleading look.
“Jack, buddy, pal, my platonic soulmate- there is no way I'm playing truth or dare with all of our intoxicated friends” he said decisively, “Jacky, I wouldn't play truth or dare with our friends sober. I love you all, I really do, but I don't trust any of you with my free will”
“Pretty pleease” Jack was now hanging fully off of David’s arm, begging like a child. David’s mouth quirked up into a smile for a brief second but returned to its usual motherly look.
“Not happenin’” Jack looked up at Davey with pleading eyes and the taller boy sighed. He really wasn’t getting out of this. Jack would just keep begging and begging until he gave in, there was literally no other option but to play.
“Alright alright, you win. I’ll play. But only for like two rounds!” he held up two fingers for emphasis and Jack grinned, grabbing his wrist to drag him towards the group already circling up.
There was a chorus of drunken whoops as he sat down in the circle. Spot raised an eyebrow at him as he begrudgingly joined them.
“Thought ya ain’t the type for these party games?” he asked, combing his hands through Race’s dirty blonde curls as the italian’s lips acted as chimneys, blowing curls of smoke in Spot’s face.
“Hey! I’m not some stick in the mud! I can have fun!” he replied indignantly. Spot just fixed him with an unimpressed look, though he wore it so often Davey thought that it may have just been his default expression.
Still, the taller boy sighed in defeat, “yeah, I’m not. But I suppose I am for tonight.”
Spot nodded, raising his capri sun at him in a toast as though it was a distinguished wine or manly beer, not a kids juice in a pouch. The sight made Davey chuckle softly to himself, The King a’ Brooklyn, scariest teen in New York, rumored to have connections to the mob, toasting his joining of truth or dare with a capri sun.
Really, why was the entire city so scared of this guy?
David jumped as Jack plopped down beside him, arm around his shoulder again. He blinked away the error message and sighed.
It started out innocently enough, weird as it was. Blink had to chug the rest of the voldka, Hotshot had to do a headstand for a full minute, and Race had to sit on Spot’s shoulders for the rest of the game. (He didn’t mind)
David also found out that JoJo once hooked up with an alter boy in church, Kathrine once blackmailed both of the Delancy brothers into doing her bidding for a full month, and Mush failed second grade and then skipped third.
“So, Spot, buddy, truth or dare?” Mush grinned drunkenly at him, draped over Blink’s lap.
“Truth”
Mush booed. “Boring~” he groaned, “fine, what's your real name?”
Race looked up at him anxiously, but Spot just nodded. “Ah, yes, funny story-” instead of finishing his sentence, he snatched the bottle of alcohol from Jack and took a swig.
“Oh, C’mon!” Spot just grinned, shuddering at the taste before passing it back to Jack.
“So, Jackie boy, truth or dare?”
Jack grinned, “Dare, I ain't no coward”
Spot raised an eyebrow, looking at Race for a beat before grinning like a shark. “A’ight, mista brave boy, I dare ya’ ta kiss the prettiest person in the room. Anyone’s up for the chopping block, except of course my Racer here,” David knew Spot was at least buzzed as he looked up to grin at Race as the other boy “aww”d and pressed a sloppy kiss to the corner of his mouth. Albert made a gagging noise as Race flipped him the bird.
David looked at Katherine with a raised eyebrow. Everyone remembered when she and Jack dated in their sophomore year. It ended badly, but they got to be friends again. Now, Sarah was passed out in her lap, arms wrapped loosely around her middle.
She was most certainly over him now, but he still assumed that she’d be who Jack choose.
So imagine his surprise when lips landed on his cheek.
He was too frozen in shock to really register the whoops and whistles coming from their mutual friends. He looked at jack, blue eyes wide as saucers, only to see the other boy with a lopsided grin.
Spot snorted, “that wasn’t even a real kiss! Thought you wasn’t a coward?”
“Hey! It’s rude to just go an’ kiss a fella!” he argued, “I ain’t kissin’ him ‘less he wants me too!”
“He does, trust me” Sarah grumbled from her spot in Katherine’s lap.
“Saz!”
“What? Ya’ do”
David sputtered, cheeks reddening be the second. His breath caught in his throat when Jack brought his hands up to cup his cheeks. He smiled before leaning in a bit. “Please tell me you’re okay wit’ this” he said almost breathlessly.
“I uh, yeah,” David cursed his stutter for probably the millionth time in his life, “Yeah, total-”
He was cut off with Jack’s lips on his. He dully registered the whoops and hollers from the teenagers around his but currently his senses were overtaken with just Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack.
When they pulled back, they were both breathless. David looked up at Jack, who hadn’t stopped grinning.
“That- I… You taste like vodka.”
Chapter 4
| Previous | | Next |
words: 1,725
Logan felt worried sometimes that it had all been a dream. The morning after the party, he had woken up in his room, with the sun peaking over the rooftops. His parents didn’t realize he had been gone, he didn’t smell like alcohol. The only thing off about him was that he still had Janus’ old t-shirt on. Just the shirt, though, the jeans were gone. He found them and the combat boots under his bed.
The following week no one looked at him differently. No one seemed to have seen him at the party. He didn’t stumble on any of the kids from the TV room, or if he did they didn’t recognize each other, which was odd. He assumed everyone would remember his glasses, but maybe it was just too dark in the house that night.
Remus, Janus and Virgil didn’t act any different either. He didn’t ask them how he got back home, he was too scared of getting an unexpected answer. Logan assumed this was what being a highschooler was like. They went to parties, kissed people, and then moved on with their lives, went to another party, kissed another person, forgot how they got home, and kept going.
He only got reassurance that the events actually happened when Virgil told the others about what Logan did to Roman, to which they cheered proudly. That small action Logan took in his uninhibited mental state would be the first of many other pranks he would take part in against anyone who mistreated him.
It began when one of Roman’s friends was trying to copy from Logan’s exam. Logan knew he had already failed the class twice, but Logan wouldn’t risk getting in trouble by letting him have the same answers. He took his time answering every question wrong, until he reached the last one. The jock proudly walked to the teacher and left his exam on the table. In the few minutes left, Logan erased everything and answered properly.
Of course, the boy failed, while Logan got a perfect grade. The bully wasn’t smart enough to figure out how, but he knew Logan did it on purpose. He tried to get violent with the shorter kid, it was the first time someone tried that in months.
Remus happened to be walking across the hall when Logan was shoved against the lockers, and was happy to create a distraction. Any opportunity to free the rats he kept in his locker was always welcomed. Logan had just enough time to escape.
The next day, Janus had an idea. He took Logan to the school gym, to pick the lock on the guy’s locker. They cut the waist of his pants slightly, so that the threads would slowly become looser. Later, at one of the biggest football matches of the season, the jock was running, just about to catch a pass in the end zone, when his pants dropped, causing him to trip and exposing his briefs-covered butt to the entire school.
That was the only football match Logan and his friends ever assisted to, and it was one of the best experiences in his life.
As the year progressed, they lost count of their victims. Another time, a girl was sent to flirt with Logan as a joke. They made her believe for a few days that Logan’s parents had arranged a marriage with hers, the look on her face was absolutely priceless.
A math club member once tried to intimidate Logan out of the competition, but he regretted his decision when he found that his album with pictures collected from every girl in the school’s public social media, all printed and neatly organized, was pinned to the announcement board, next to a picture of his face, showing its creep of an owner.
Some pranks were more simple, —they egged expensive cars very often— but they all sent a clear message: Karma would reach anyone who messed with them sooner or later.
They were never caught, but Logan suspected this could count as some kind of big-scale conditioning experiment. His peers were smart enough to avoid getting in trouble with him after enough demonstrations of what would happen if they did. Logan didn't see some of the kids again, but Janus and Remus told him not to worry about it.
One Thursday after school, Virgil and Logan walked to Janus’ apartment. The other two had gotten there earlier, but they had stayed to recover a journal some guy had stolen from Virgil. As they walked, Virgil skimmed through its pages, making sure none were missing. Logan was struggling to keep up with the taller kid’s pace and to get a peak of what was written in the notebook.
“It’s nothing important.” Virgil murmured when he noticed Logan’s curiosity. He handed him the journal and allowed him to look through it. “Just some chords and stuff. I don’t think they cared about anything there.”
“You write music?”
“Sometimes.”
“Do you play it?”
Virgil bit his lip and continued looking to the road in front of him. “Remus is better with instruments than I am. And, um, I don’t know if I trust him not to make fun of it with Janus behind my back.” After a pause, he added, “you’re cool, though. You can keep looking, if you want.”
Logan blushed slightly as he looked down at the notes in his hands. This song had some lyrics, written with a handwriting he could barely understand, most of them crossed out. It didn’t help either that all Logan knew how to read were carefully chosen and printed classical music sheets. He noticed, though, that Virgil seemed to be fond of G major and minor chords.
Logan handed Virgil his journal back as they reached the entrance to the building.
Janus opened the door to his apartment for them. As soon as they entered, they heard the noise of a can being crushed under someone’s foot. Logan took a step back to avoid it when it bounced on the wall next to him. He turned to Janus, who just shook his head and rolled his eyes. Remus was finishing drinking another can of soda, only to crush it and throw it across the apartment again.
“Did you get your thing back?”
“Yup.” Virgil replied to Janus as they both sat down on the couch.
Logan sat down on the floor and pulled out one of his notebooks. His parents wouldn’t be home until later, but he still had work to finish. He couldn’t get to begin writing when he was interrupted by Remus’ loud cry.
“FUCK.”
“What is wrong with you?” Virgil seemed worried, but not as frightened as Logan felt.
“It’s his parents again.” Janus explained.
“I HATE them, man. I swear I’m moving out before the summer! As soon as I get a job they’ll never see me again!” He punctuated with a kick to the trash bin, emptying it all over the living room. Remus continued his rant, ignoring Janus’ complaints about the mess. “Ever since Roman got that stupid acceptance letter from Fancypants Art University on the other side of the country or whatever they won’t shut up! It’s all ‘Oh my beautiful son, you’re getting so far! We’re so proud of you!’ bullshit. When I told them I was moving out after school they basically told me I was an ungrateful bitch!”
“And who the hell cares what they think?” Janus threw back at him a can that had landed on the couch. “If your parents don’t even know you they don’t deserve to have opinions.”
Logan frowned. He had never heard someone speak about their parents that way. Sure, his could be a little intense, but it was their responsibility to make sure the kid grew up well, right?
“I don’t care! I’m just so goddamn tired of their stupid double standards.” He started pacing in circles. “If Roman brings the entire theater club over he gets a ‘Darling, do you and your friends want me to call for pizza?’ But if I bring my friends over it’s ‘Oooh, Remus please get those delinquents out of my house, they might steal something!’”
Logan almost laughed at the high-pitched tone and exaggerated gestures Remus used to mock his parents, it sounded just like Roman did when he was actually offended.
Janus snickered. “Is your mom still not over that? That golden necklace was abandoned under the fridge. Finders keepers,” he said, studying his nails.
“That’s what I told her, but she and Roman won’t let it go.”
“Your brother’s just bitter that I stole that lead role from him four years ago.”
“Do you like acting?” Logan asked.
“No. I told them I wouldn’t participate the night of the first show.”
“You did that in eighth grade?” Virgil seemed just as amused as surprised by the new information.
“Yeah, it was before you came to the school. You should have seen their faces. There wasn’t enough time to get the pitiful Prince into the costume and makeup to replace me, so the whole thing was a delightful mess.”
“It was a great night,” Remus confirmed, still kicking crushed cans around.
“Why did you get the role, then?”
Janus shrugged. “To prove that I could.”
“That’s the reason why Roman has hated you all these years?” Virgil asked.
“I guess. He’s jealous I’m more charming than him.” He smirked, resting both of his arms on the back of the couch. “But his or his parents’ opinions don’t matter to me.”
“It matters when they pay the bills.” Remus huffed. “I’m really going to snap one day and come sleep on your couch.”
“Good luck not getting spotted by the landlord before he kicks us both out.”
Remus’ groan almost sounded like a toddler who was just told it was bath time. “Whatever! But we’re still on for that student house in the city after graduation, right?”
“Yes, Remus.”
“Good.” Remus flopped down on the couch right behind Logan, exhausted.
Everyone was still for a moment.
“Hear me out, little guy.” Remus broke the silence, patting Logan’s shoulder. Logan looked up to meet his eyes. “Never let your parents make you feel bad about yourself, no matter how convincing they seem.”
Logan was taken aback by Remus’ unusual earnest tone. He looked towards the other two, who looked like they both had needed to hear that advice more than once in their lives. He didn’t know what to make of it. “Okay,” he whispered.
take care of me: daein’s story of fear.
scenario: so this is about the very first time daein tripped on acid & also his first bad trip. so....you could say he was pretty scared. big reason he doesn’t do lsd much. word count: 2,200 😳 notes: please know this isn’t saying if you get high you’re the same as very stupid kim daein. this is just his experience where tbh, a lot contributed to his bad trip. just please be safe & smart ok!!!!!!! and also, he’s dumb, especially in this phase of his life, and says/does some dumb things!! they don’t reflect my views. in fact...i cringed writing 98% of this. but also! if things like drugs & overdose and anything else in the tags make you uncomfy, please don’t read this...it might bother you! there’s also quite a bit of cursing. and i hate this & it’s not good AT ALL but i’m running out of time so i have to post it. anyways that’s all, ily all <3)
everything started off fine.
everything started off perfectly fine, and that was the scariest part.
there he was, in the center of the room, staring down a girl with her friends on the other side of the room.  he was still too sober, too bored, and was wondering where a few drinks could land him by the end of the night. truth be told, the usual routines were getting to be repetitive - get drunk, find a girl, land in bed by 3am, kick her out before his parents woke him up in the morning. but that was becoming a little too predictable, and tonight daein was craving a change of pace. he’d even gotten their early, thinking that getting there at the start of the party would hype him up. he only intense disappointment of a near empty room, not yet at it’s peak.
“you don’t look like you’re having much fun.”
huh? he can’t tell if he said it out loud over the blaring music, but from his furrowed eyebrows he’ sure the girl in front of him can sense his confusion. he scans her over, but nothing’s coming to him. no name, no potential friends - hell, did she even live here? because he swears he’s never seen her before, and if he did he would’ve tried talking to her a long time ago. “i mean - i guess. i might dip - party’s kinda dead, you know?”
she takes a step closer, and her unexpected proximity almost causes him to step back. “or maybe you’re just dead. what’s your name? i might be able to help you out,” she offers, gesturing across the room. shit. she wanted him that quick? that was a record, and he’s already getting himself ready to go before she turns around to him.
“i have a friend here, he’s probably got something that’ll make you have some fun. i’ll tell him to hook you up.” for a second, he has no idea what she’s saying, and the only thing that’s really processing is that he won’t be getting laid tonight. deflating in every sense, and mouth agape in embarrassment as she talks,  he can only mumble a small thanks as he follows instructions.  really, he had no reason to comply, but trusting a random stranger seemed like the most exciting opportunity that would come to him for a while. only after she continues he gets it, and as he’s following her across the cup littered room he sees him. he would’ve just dismissed the guy in the corner of the room as a wallflower if he didn’t know any better, and although he’s getting the gut feeling that he shouldn’t be doing this he walks up to the expectant male.
“first time?”
“uh...no, dude. i’ve smoked plenty of times.” for a guy who pretends to be such a badass, he obviously’s the lamest of the bunch, because the other two begin cackling at his response. was that the wrong thing to say? so he laughs, along with them, pretending he’s in on a joke - even though it might be him.
“you’re funny. but for real, you’ve tried acid before, right? i don’t want to give it to you if you can’t handle it, man.”
 shit. acid? shit. this was really….really getting real. here he was, thinking he was getting a discount on some weed, when peeking out between the other’s hands is something much smaller than what he was expecting. he’s puzzled, but tries his best not to show it and shake the feeling off. “nah, im good. just a little nervous, that’s all. i haven’t….done this in a while, so….yeah.” by now he knows he sounds stupid, but this wasn’t what he signed up for when he agreed to come to this party. but what was he supposed to do? he had asked for fun and here came his saving grace - who was he not to accept an offer given to him so conveniently? fear is only reluctance about the unknown, he reminds himself. he’s not really scared to try it, he’s just scared because he doesn’t know what to expect.
daein’s a sixteen year old phony, a kid from florida who smoked his first joint and thought he was the big man on campus. hell, he barely got away with sneaking that past his parents. how was he going to manage this? alcohol was predictable. he knew his body, and knew he could recover by the time he was supposed to be back from a “sleepover” with his friend. he’s never done anything above those things, and quite honestly is scared to try. but it wouldn’t hurt, just this once. he’s not going to let some nerves ruin his fun, right?”
“so…? you joining, or what, man?” daein’s lost in thoughts until he becomes aware of the awkward stare off, coughing uncomfortably. “oh - right, right. how much?” he asks, bringing his hand toward his wallet before the other brings it back down. he’s told not to worry about it, that it’s on the house - as long as he comes to him next time he wants to buy. just like that, it’s in his hand - what was it, exactly? a little square, almost like a piece of paper. it took multiple shots to knock him out cold. it was hard to imagine this would do anything.
looking around the circle they’ve formed, he’s watching to see who’s going to go first. not so much because of his nerves, but more because he doesn’t really know shit about what he’s doing. other kids might have learned from the movies or watched their friends, but these saturday night sneak-outs were the only times daein really got a glimpse of the real world. if he wasn’t here, he was at home studying, sleeping, or eating. but always, always under the watch of his parents. they were like hawks, which may have explained his desire to act out just this once where he wasn’t under their control.
everyone brings the thin slip to their lips - daein follows suit. everyone puts it under their tongue - he follows again. it’s like a game of simon says, except daein doesn’t really know what voice in his head is telling him to do all this. do i swallow it? do i chew? but no one else seems to do much else, so he lets it do it’s job.
now, the party’s starting, he thinks. except….it’s not. an hour passes. hell, wasn’t this stuff supposed to mess you up? he can barely feel a difference and it feels like he’s been waiting for hours. “i don’t feel shit,” he rather obnoxiously complains, only feeling the same boring buzz of alcohol. he wants more than this.
“dude, is this all you’ve got? you’re fucking weak. come on, i told you i’m not a lighthead. do you have anything else?”
“trust me, just chill out for a bit. it’ll kick in - i swear, you don’t need anything else.”
daein’s eyes plead for a reconsideration, but by the look on this guy’s face he’s not going to risk it. fine, he thinks. he doesn’t want to help him out? daein’s gonna speed up the process.
“pussies.” another shot.
but now….now he’s feeling something. the teen swears its because that one last shot gave him that extra push he needs, but after a while he’s not convinced that’s it. because it’s like a feeling in his chest, a feeling that’s getting bigger and bigger until it’s almost boiling over. he feels like he has bubbles in his stomach.
skip forward thirty minutes later, and it’s really kicking in. holy shit. he can feel every one of his toes, he swears, and when he tells his friends they tell him he’s gone crazy. it feels like the lights are getting hotter and hotter, and he wonders if it’s because he’s been dancing or it’s just his imagination. and honestly? he feels good. it’s like he’s really in one of those coming of age movies, everything seems so fun and everything is so funny. it’s like he’s dancing on the clouds, and daein gives himself a pat on the back for ever thinking this was a good idea.
it was different, but definitely manageable. this is nice, this is fine, he thinks. but the problem is, it’s like he’s going up an elevator he can stop.he wants everything to….stop here, but it’s not. fuck - how’s he going to get home.
now he’s got a new goal - have someone take him home, and take him home now. the feeling in his chest hasn’t subsided, and something’s telling him he hasn’t reached his peak high yet. what the hell was he going to do if he saw his parents like that? it was one thing climbing a fence drunk, but this….this was definitely different. he doesn’t have a clue how he’ll be able to sneak into his house like this - hell, he can hardly make it across the room. everything feels like it’s moving in slow motion around him, like he’s the only one who knows what’s going on. louder than the music, the voices, everything, he can hear his heart. it gets louder, louder, louder - shit, was it gonna beat out his chest?
“shit, is it gonna be out my chest?”
“what, is what gonna be out your che - man, what’d you take? you look awful.”
he knows that, but what can he do about that right now? he’s hot, at least, it feels like he is, but everything about him seems heavy and he’s not even sure he can wipe the sweat from his forehead. it seems like he has a piece of crinkled plastic over his eyes, like something’s stopping him from seeing clearly. he can’t see. it seems like every time he panics, he feels worse, and although he tries to calm down he’s not doing too good.
“home - i’ve gotta head home - now.”
“no can do. ask….tyler or something, i don’t know. i’m headed out with marina.”
“but-” he’s never heard himself this desperate. “-please.”
“sorry, devin. duty calls.”
duty calls. that’s his thing. and now that he’s the one asking for the ride, he realizes how shit the phrase really sounds. he’s the king of egocentrism, because all he can think is aren’t i more important? but he’s getting too unbothered to care, and through hooded eyes watches the other leave through the back door.
he makes the mistake of slumping down into the chair, and with how heavy his body seems it feels like he’s sinking into the carpet. he has to remind himself that he’s okay, that everything’s just an illusion, but it’s hard to remember when he feels like he’s falling further and further into the ground.
he’s sitting down, and still, it’s all just too much. he wants to throw up. there’s nowhere to go - his friends are assholes, and his parents will beat his ass. so he figures he’s a badass and can wait it out, and tries to close his eyes. but that doesn’t block out everything. he still hears the loud noises, feels the bodies brushing past him, feels like someone’s moving his chair around and around again. and for the first time that night, he realizes how alone he can feel around so many people. because he has no one. his heart’s getting louder, still. he’s slumped over a chair in the middle of a party and he thinks he’s gonna die. all he can think is -
“how the hell did i get here?”
hot. cold. hot. cold. from breaking out into sweating fits to random spurts of chills, everything’s out of wack. and the funny part? he’s not even blaming it on the acid, he just wishes he knew where the thermostat is. but he can’t even find out, because the soles of his feet feel as if they’d got shackled down. he can’t go anywhere, and this is not ok.
he knows he needs to calm down, but the more he worries the faster the room seems to spin. the louder it seems to get, and the more daein wishes that it would all just stop. when he tries to get up again, only this time, he really feels like he’s headed for the floor.
until there’s nothing, nothing but darkness.
14 Firefighters Share Their Scariest Paranormal Encounters
The weirdest part of the fire was the 911 call. The callers wife was in the background screaming, “you f**ked him off now, look he’s gone and burned the place down”.
With grit and determination, every day firefighters bravely put their lives on the lines for us, but it seems it’s not just the flames these brave men and women face; from haunted firehouses to ghostly apparitions. Here are 14 of the most chilling paranormal encounters and ghost stories shared by firefighters from across the United States.
1. Guardian Angel
Our firehouse isn’t haunted, at least not on a regular basis, but one of our engines is.
Two examples I have personally seen and experienced are; first, we were responding to a call in a dark, secluded, industrial area one night when the engine suddenly sputtered, stalled, and coasted to a stop right in front of a railroad crossing with no gates. Just as we stopped, a freight train came through. The engine started right up and ran fine after the train passed.
The second example happened one blazing hot summer afternoon when we were called to a highway construction site for a burning shanty. We pulled up and began advancing the handline when it suddenly seemed like the hose became tangled up in the hosebed. We went back to the engine to check, and just then the shanty blew up into thousands of tiny pieces. There were NO tangles in the hose, and it wasn’t caught or hung up anywhere.
2. Mr Jones
Our fire department is haunted by a man named Mr. Jones. The story dates back many years before we built a new station. Mr. Jones died at the old firehouse from a heart attack after battling a house fire.
A chief told me a story once: ‘I went to the restroom which was off the hallway. On my way in, I sat my brand new pack of cigarettes on the file cabinet outside of the doorway. When I came out, the cigarettes were lined end-to-end down the hallway.’
Another firefighter about a year later also had a ‘Mr. Jones Experience.’ He and another guy were watching TV one night when the clock above the TV flew off the wall, landed in the center of the room, spun around a few times, then landed on a book shelf.
All of the ‘haunted firehouse’ stories never really had me believing until Mr. Jones gave me a story of my own. I have this thing about open shower curtains. I notice when they are open and I have to close them. I had walked into the restroom to clean it but forgot a trash bag. The shower curtain was open. When I walked back in, about 30 seconds later, the curtain was closed. That is the only story that is personal. Other than that, we have doors that open and close by themselves, lights that go on and off, stuff like that. So that’s my story and I’m stickin to it.
3. Jesus Christ
About seven or eight years ago, we arrived at a townhouse with heavy fire from the first floor on side one. After making entry, locating the fire in the kitchen, and extinguishing, we set about taking out a few windows for ventilation.
After the smoke had risen, we noticed that the living area to the rear of the kitchen (which was on the right hand side as we entered) had taken significant smoke and heat damage. On the wall was a picture of Jesus Christ, and it was the only object in the room that appeared untouched. Even the wall BEHIND the picture was smoke-stained and blistered.
There was evidence of two streams of water that had trickled from the lower corners of the picture to a point in the middle of the wall where they met and continued down to the floor. The odd thing was that the line had been pulled through this room and was flowing into the kitchen to push the fire out the front, through a large vented window. No water had been flowing in the room, and the steam produced had been pushed out the window. Even the FM was amazed, and we haven’t seen anything like it since. It kinda makes one wonder.
4. Steve
We have a protector. We had a member, Steve that was killed in the line of duty during a helicopter operation. Ever since he died, members swear they can hear him in the building at night. Doors close, open, etc. without explanation. Then one night we figured out why he was there.
One of our members who has been here about 15 years now was on duty. We have bullet proof vests we keep on the units, but in a back compartment. He heard that compartment open and close. He went out into the bay and looked at it, and for some reason he took the vest out and put it in the front seat. He’d never done that before.
Next thing you know, he’s toned out to a ‘sick call’ that after his arrival was deemed a shooting. Nothing happened to him, but the point was made.
Several such incidents have occurred. Whenever something big is about to happen, a unit door opens and shuts or a bay door opens etc. We always know.
5. The Phantom Handprint
On April 18, 1924, a firefighter named Frank Leavy was washing a window at the fire station. For some reason, he paused in his work, his hand resting against the pane of glass, and he told a friend who was standing nearby that he had the strangest feeling he was going to die that day. Just then, the station received an alarm call and the fire fighters were sent to a fire that had broken out at Curran Hall, an office building in Chicago. While fighting the fire, a wall collapsed and killed eight of the firemen… Frank Leavy was one of those killed.
The next day, one of the firemen noticed something strange about the window that Frank had been washing the day before. There seemed to be an unusual stain on the glass…. and it appeared to be the imprint of Frank’s hand at the same spot where he had been leaning the day before.
They tried everything that they could, but they could find no way to erase the strange handprint. It seemed to be etched into the glass!
An expert from the Pittsburgh Plate Glass company brought a special solution to the fire house, guaranteeing that it would remove the print, but it didn’t work. Over the years, there were suggestions that the pane of glass be removed, but many of the firemen argued, saying that it was not right to fool with the unknown. Besides that, it was a reminder, albeit a grim one, of their dead friend. And there was no doubt that the handprint belonged to Frank Leavy! An official from the city had come down with a fingerprint comparison and the prints matched those of Frank’s. For the next twenty years, the handprint defied all explanation and was a common attraction to visitors and other firemen from around the city.
Finally, on the morning of April 18, 1944 a careless paper boy tossed the morning edition at the fire house and shattered the window where Frank’s handprint had been.
It happened exactly twenty years to the date of when Frank Leavy died!
6. “You F**ked Him Off Now”
There was a fire about 6-7yrs ago. The call was weird from the start, the 1st due engine didn’t want to start (it was out on a run bout 20mins before) they get there, the house was fully involved. When they got there, the fire was burning in strange ways… at one point flames were shooting out a window, and taking a ninety degree turn upward. The investigator pictures show the face of the devil in the smoke and flames. I know it sounds BS, but I have seen a few of these pics, and have talked with some of the investigators. They were saying that the basement was rocking, when they went back the next day it looked as though nothing burned downstairs.
The weirdest part of the fire was the 911 call. The dispatcher said the callers wife was in the back ground screaming, “you f**ked him off now, look he’s gone and burned the place down”. These people were said to have been Satan worshipers, everyone in the Dept. is afraid to even go on that road for calls. Incidentally the name of the road is “Angel Hill” hmmm, pretty weird.
7. Footsteps
I worked for a department that had lost a few members in its time. Over the course of the first few months I was there, I noticed strange noises in the bay. Once, I walked in the front door only to hear the back door slam. I walked back to see who it was, and when I opened the back door, no one was there. There was fresh snow on the ground and no tracks.
Another time I went down to the bay in the middle of the night. I heard distinct footsteps walking around one of the rigs on the other side of the bay. I called out but no one answered. I got spooked and crept around the bay with an axe trying to find the intruder. No one there! I also got a really spooky feeling a few times when I was alone in the bay by the back door. Later, I happened to mention to the chief that I had heard some weird stuff in the station at night. He got a strange look on his face and said ‘Let me guess… footsteps behind Engine 3 and a creepy feeling by the back door!’ I got the same story from one of the captains, about hearing footsteps and all that. Guess someone’s still hanging around…
8. The Station in The Woods
Back at my old department before I moved to my current one I was assigned to the farthest southern station by myself with a single engine. The area was in a heavily wooded area of the district. At night it got extremely dark in that area, more so than the other areas of the dist. There were a lot of one lane dirt and paved roads as well as a few meth labs, and no police coverage.
I had had several occasions that I would hear dogs barking at a house near the station, and hear sounds outside the station like thumping noises, usually after 1 AM. I would go outside to look and no one would be there. These noises went on for about a week. Once I had a friend from another station come down to visit me but I was gone, he got scared off when he heard five loud bangs on the wall near the kitchen, of course he failed to tell me this. Another night I was in bed and saw a shadow outside my window walking in the flower bed. The shadow passed my window and then the person kicked the door near the bay. I crawled out of bed and called 911, while I was on the phone the person busted out the bedroom window, half scared shitless I ran to the engine and bailed north to another station with a higher staffing level. The PD responded and 45 minutes later searched and deemed the station safe.
I soon after moved from that station and it is no longer staffed even now 3 years later. I found out from a B/C later on that a previous FF had been attacked in the parking lot washing an engine, and that the station had had several other weird occurrences happen since it was built.
9. The Hose Tower Hanging
I too have heard of the strange noises that occur inside many of our firehouses.
We have a firehouse that late at night, you can hear chains rattling at the top of the hose tower. When you turn on the light and climb the ladder to the platform at the top of the tower, nothing is there. The rumor has it that back in the 50’s a probationer hung himself in the hose tower and wasn’t discovered for a week.
10. The Old Capt.
The oldest station in Lex., KY, is haunted, according to some of the old heads, by an old Capt. who died while on duty in his sleep on Christmas Eve in the 1940’s. He is said to have sat in an old cane bottomed rocking chair, that chair was put in the attic of the station after his death, where it is still heard to be rocking on occasion.
Chiefs have gotten calls from neighbors who were mad because they could see a fireman looking out of the upstairs window, but no one would answer the door. This usually happens when the engine company was out on a fire run or training. Engine started by itself and backed in to the wall one night (std. trans.). Some of the guys who have worked there would not even go in the house alone on payday to pick up their pay checks if the co. was out.
11. The Ouija Board
A fire company that I used to belong to is quartered in a building built in the 1930’s and it is unquestionably haunted. Odd things happen regularly such as bathroom stall doors being locked from the inside, tv and lights turning on and off, footsteps across the floor, yelling when nobody else is there, etc… A few members decided to bring in an Ouija board one night and see what they could find. It turns out that there are two ghosts, one is a past chief and the other is a small boy that used to live in a row of miner’s houses that has long since been torn down.
The chief confirmed his identity by naming other long dead members (so long dead that we had to dig back 50 years in the company’s records to even find their names!). The chief generally drags chairs around the meeting room at night and yells at members while the boy is constantly bouncing his ball on the upstairs floor. All of this only happens at night.
12. The Indian Arrowheads
My father’s volunteer fire company also found Indian arrowheads while they were digging for an addition to the firehouse back in the 50s, but they also unearthed cannonballs and buttons. If my memory is right, some expert said that the cannonballs were from the American revolution and that the buttons were from a Hessian soldier (Hessians were mercenaries that the British used against Washington’s army). BUT – strange things began happening while those items the firemen dug up were in the firehouse.
First off, anyone that touched the items got very ill with high fevers and rash. The guys that actually dug up the items were very bad off; and their feet became swollen and turned black and blue. The door to the firehouse would also swing open just as someone approached, and the doors to the huge cast iron firehouse oven would open and close all by itself. Someone in the company said that they should bury the items; put them back in the ground – and when they did everyone got better, and all the strange things stopped happening.
13. The Fortune Teller
My firehouse has had a run of strange happenings over the years also. Many of us have actually seen a misty figure move through the rec room and out to the apparatus room. Some of the crews have seen the figure together, others have seen him when they were by themselves. The usual doors swinging, chairs moving upstairs, people walking across the floor or up and down the stairs happens occasionally.
The really scary part was when a friend of a friend stopped by the firehouse with her kids for a tour. This woman practices tarot card readings, fortune telling and the like. She had never been in the firehouse before and had never known about any of the instances in the firehouse. After the tour she asked me if the firehouse had “guest appearances” often. I thought she meant the kids and said that we often have children take tours of the place. She corrected herself and asked if we had ever seen ghosts, I said, maybe-I’m not sure. She described our misty figure from head to toe exactly as he appears and said she had seen him. Do I believe, probably not much more than I had before that day but I don’t doubt anything.
14. Standing Behind Me
This story takes place in Fayetteville, NC and the department I used to work for there. When I was assigned to Engine 2, I had heard all kinds of stories of it being haunted. Footsteps, doors opening, writing on the wall, and even a sighting are all the things I was told about.
I heard some things once in a while but the one time I was really spooked happened in late 2000. I was lying in bed, about 2 am when I heard footsteps approach my bunk and stop behind me, between my bed and the wall. The first thing I thought was that I had slept through a call but then I saw that my LT was still asleep and I noticed the radio was quiet. I could feel someone standing beside the bed and as much as I didn’t want to I slowly turned and looked to find that there was no one there.
Here's the Tea ☕️
Shit back fired on my ass so quickly. That day I posted about my ex i ended up meeting up with him for dinner because I was fucking starving; or maybe it was the day after. Mind you guys , I had been clean for 6 days, which is the longest I had been clean in the past 6 months. So, I was happy, I was feeling good, more confident, and most importantly more like myself. So when I came upon some bad luck and ended up starving I decided to take up his offer for dinner.
BIG MISTAKE.
I went out to dinner with him not expecting to do any type of drugs , because as far as I believed I was done with that shit. SO he ended dinner on a sour note as usual , playing the “Im so lost without you” manipulation shit and I had had enough, so I told him to take me back to my room.
We get to my room and he hands me 40 dollars folded up and told me to have a nice night. I just took the money and headed upstairs to my room, throwing the flowers he bought me in the trash.
I get up to my room, open the money up to put in my wallet and I notice dope is in it. So at this point I’m fucking freaking out , cause 1. I’m clean. 2. I’m clean. 3 . IM FUCKING CLEAN. So I put the money on the dresser and I sort of pace back and forth a bit. I decide fuck it I’m going to snort a little bit and be done.
Again… you know what’s coming next!
BIG MISTAKE!
I snort like literally the tiniest of line and throw the rest of it down the toilet and throw myself into my bed. I’m upset at myself and a little high and I’m just ready to sleep it off .
I sleep for a couple hours , wake up and I’m sweating bullets . I get up. Go shower. Grab two newports out my pack and head outside to smoke and clear my mind. Also to watch the sunrise, which usually calms my anxiety. The last menorías I have after this is looking down at my cigarette that I thought I just lit and finding it burned down to the filter .
Man!
So I wake up in the back of an ambulance , scared for my fucking life , thinking “ wow I’ve really fucked up this time” I remember asking the emt if I’m going to live and asking her multiple times! She assured me I would.
God bless her! I’ll never forget her face , neither one of them. They saved my life . The life I am still so undeserving of because I did it to myself!
Now, because of me passing out , I went into cardiac arrest , heart stopped, I starting choking on my own vomit . I ended up spending 7 days in the hospital with , pneumonia and mrsa.
I’m still on antibiotics but you guys I haven’t told you the scariest part.
When I told the nurse that I had overdosed on heroin he looked at me and said “your system came back clear of all opiates , so tell me again what you took?” He didn’t believe me ! He didn’t believe that I had been doing it for months and only recently clean. He didn’t believe that I ingested an opiate.
I say all of this to say, be careful ! You don’t know what you’re injecting. I thought it was H and who knows what poison I’ve been putting into my body for months now! I am done completely with any type of drug and I have no desire for it since the scare.
I am extremely humbled however and very grateful to be here!
WARNING: SCARIEST GAME IN YEARS | Five Nights at Freddy's - Part 1
To honor @markiplier and him asking for our favorite videos or whichever video brought us to the channel, I thought I’d share with you the first video I ever watched and the story behind it.
When I first looked up Mark and first watched this series I left a five paragraph long comment on the last video, or at least the last one in the playlist when I watched it.
My grandma was in the hospital at the time, she’d had a stroke right in the middle of dinner with me and my mom, and I had to stay overnight with her for about a week because no one else in my family wanted to and I was the only one who could sleep on the floor as the room they had her in had only a dinky folding chair.
That wasn’t the only part of my life that was hard at that point though. It was also the week before finals week, and me missing a bunch of school to be in the hospital with my grandma was certainly not the best thing for me. I had already been struggling so much that year in school, English was hard, math was harder. My friends had all collectively decided to stop talking to me, and while I know that sounds cliche and over dramatic, I’m being serious. Three of them moved away around the same time, one dropped out to do home school and thus our friend group dissipated leaving me, me with my really bad social anxiety, left with no one.
I had only really been into vloggers at the time, Dan and Phil, Tyler Oakley, people like them, but none of them had uploaded in a while and I had already watched all their other videos, but then I remembered this one guy two kids in my English class had been talking about, this guy who screamed a lot and played horror games, Markiplier. Take in consideration, I hate most horror because I’m a huge wuss, but I had nothing else to watch and they had said he was really funny so I gave it a shot.
Like I said before, the room my grandma was in was so tiny, it was probably about 14x8, the bed taking up the majority of space, and the folding chair was really uncomfortable so I ended up on the floor at the end of the bed most of the time, under a desk built into the wall. I remember my mom had told me before we left for the hospital to wear comfortable clothes since I’d be staying over, so I just had on pj pants and a really old, stretched out hoodie. And after everyone had left for the night, I like crawled down under the desk in the wall, pulled my hoodie around my knees and over my head, plugged my phone into the charger, put my head phones in and looked up this “Markiplier’ guy. I remembered the guys in my class talking about him being well known for his Five Nights at Freddy’s series, so I looked that up first. I figured at that point I was so numb inside it wouldn’t scare me.
I was wrong needless to say, it scared the shit out of me, but listening to this goof making terrible jokes and screaming along with me, it made me feel a lot better about myself. Not only about being scared but also just with life in general. Those couple months before the hospital, life and been beating the shit out of me. My friends, school, my family... It seemed like that was the last straw for me. I remember I sat there for at least half an hour just staring at the floor thinking about just giving up. Life had just been too hard. I was worried about not being able to catch up in school and failing. I was scared I would be alone forever, never having any friends for the rest of high school. I was worried about my grandma, and what it would do to out family if she died. I was genuinely considering just giving up on life and ending it all.
God, I’m so glad I didn’t. Remember that five paragraph comment I mentioned earlier? While it got lost in the sea of comments I remember most of what I said, but given that this is already super fucking long, I’ll summarize it. Basically I never knew my dad. My grandma told me the day I was born, he came in the room, saw me, held me once, walked out, he told everyone he was going for a smoke, and we never saw or heard from him again. As a little kid, like all little kids do, I imagined what my dad would have been like it he was around. I imagined this guy who would take me camping, and push me on the swings. Someone who would play games with me and read me bed time stories. One thing I really wanted him to be was funny. I had always hoped if I ever met my dad, he’d be funny as no one in my family is all that funny to me. I conjured up this idea of the perfect dad in my head, but as time went on and I grew up, I came to realize I’m never gonna meet my dad, he’d never live up the expectations little four year old me had and I should just stop dreaming up this amazing guy I’ll never get to meet.
Years later, I realized that guy does exist, he’s just not my dad. His name is Mark Edward Fisbach, and he makes dick jokes for a living. And he tells me to be the best person I can be, not for anyone else, but just for me. He makes me giggle at three am when I should be asleep and gives me the motivation to keep going. He’s the guy I wish my dad had been like. I’ve come to consider him a father figure to me even if he is only ten years older than me and I’ve never actually met him. I look up to him like how I imagine all little girls look up to their fathers.
I’m so glad I watched this video. I’m so glad I found your channel, Mark. Not only has your channel given some of the most amazing friends I could ever ask for, its given me motivation. Its given me a reason to get out of bed and try to be better than I was yesterday. And even though I’m not quite there, even though I have a hell of a lot of work to do before I’m content with who I am as a person, you help me do that every single day.
Mark makes me laugh when I feel like crying, and cry at the fact that, yes, there are good people left in this world, and yes, Mark is one of them.
I have always thought that being a youtuber must have been a the most amazing  job, you could say its my dream job, but to me it was really unrealistic and unattainable before, but after watching you and your videos and especially the video from today, how you said anyone can do it, I’ve decided that one day that’s gonna be me. I’m gonna be a youtuber one day to, and while I still haven’t taken that first step and gotten my fist video up, I know one day soon, as soon as I have everything I need (a decent camera) I’ll get that video up and keep going, not because I want views or fame, but because if there is any chance I make someone happy like Mark has made me happy, I’ll do it in a heart beat.]
I sincerely hope Mark reads this, not because I want any recognition but because I want him to know how much he means to me.
(also as a side note for anyone wondering, my grandma is fine, she made it thru and is still kicking up a storm today)
