3. What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?

The first thing I remember deciding on for Aurien was the idea of them being a fake cleric. Back before I realized what class they would need to be to make it work how I wanted in Pathfinder. After that was the surname "Florence."

6. What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

God. Okay so. Here's where I have to tap into the fact that Aurien was a derivative concept from the character I had just finished playing, Seville. When I was designing Aurien's face and hair, I was specifically taking Seville's design from memory and flipping it! The rest of their outfit was taken from some MahoYaku outfits that inspired me, since that was a major thing I was doing at the time for design ideas.

17. Are there any motifs or symbols associated with the character? How are they represented, in their design, personality or in some other way?

Almost none of their motifs actually end up represented in their design. Death, masks, ice, and recently I've been thinking moths are a fun new association. The mask idea is the biggest one to actually be apparent, in how they rarely show their 'true' face. In some ways they've almost forgotten how to since they're trying so hard to bury it in exchange for something else. A lot of the others are so subtle I'm not sure if I can put to words how they're represented.

People always rank either Ei or Zhongli (or both) above Venti in power rankings. Like, who is the strongest archon? There are always two answers: Morax or Beelzebul. Never Barbatos.

I like to think otherwise.

This guy has cut mountains with his winds and thrown them so far away into the sea, made winter disappear and turned Mond into what it is today: from a barren rocky land that used to be filled with snow and raging blizzards into this green plain field with gentle winds where agriculture is so much easier then it ever was back then. I don't think people of Old Mond could have ever imagined for Mond to turn into what it is today.

But he still calls himself weak. And people took that to face value. And some still do despite it being proven otherwise by Nahida.

Venti said that an archon derives their power from ruling over their nation. But Nahida denies this later and says that archons gain their power through the faith of the people.

Clearly, Venti lied to us.

And if we go by what Nahida said,,,, Every freakin person in Mond has faith in the Anemo archon. They sing praises of him despite not having been in the presence of their god for 5 centuries. He has a statue and a Cathedral (who else has that?).

So, Venti is Strong.

Remember his gnosis is in the shape of a queen chess piece? Queen has the most freedom on the board. Venti's ideals are freedom. And his element is anemo. Anemo is the free-est element out there.

He might as well suck the air out of your lungs if he so wants to. He governs over it.

My point is, Venti is overpowered.

And let's not forget how that little wind wisp gained archon hood.

It was his desire to protect that helped him into becoming a god. When the nameless bard died, he felt the need to protect whats left. To protect what his friend died fighting for.

And its a pretty cliche concept out their about how a hero grows stronger, in any story. Its their need to protect. Right?

And Venti still wants to protect Mond- despite him saying otherwise. He shows up everytime Mond is in danger. Whether directly or indirectly, he always helps out.

So here is what I think. The reason why he calls himself weak.

Its because he is so strong, strong enough to scare Celestia. So Celestia has put him on some sort of leash. He can't use his powers in it's entirety. There is probably some sort of seal.

So Venti is weak.

Because he can't use all of his powers. Because he is chained to Celestia's whim.

Venti is weakest of the seven because he is the only one who has some sort of leash on him.

The god of freedom, chained.

Plus, it can definitely not be a coincidence that the defiled statue was of Barbatos, out of all the seven. Chained, hanging up-side down and corrupted.

And the fact that the abyss order was going to use Barbatos (chained) statue to create a machine to "topple the divine thrones of Celestia."

None of that can be a coincidence. Knowing hoyoverse, it definitely isn't.

So yeah. Venti is definitely not weak. He just can't use the full extent of his powers as of right now.

Venti is strong, but also weak. If he isn't chained- he is easily the strongest.

He can slice the mountains and throw them far into sea- if Zhongli throws a big peice of meteor on him, venti should be able to cut it in half too. if he has all his power on him that is.

I really hate it when people call him weak just because he said so himself. Especially when it's been proven that we shouldn't take his words to face value.

He is not like our sweet little Nahida, people.

i thought i'd be over it by now, but i'm really not, because i'm still seeing people justifying why lando deserves the influx of hate he gets. and every single one of them are so called max fans; you accuse lando of treating max badly (derived from quotes taken out of context) but forget that, this is a sport. it is a competitive activity and people will take digs at others, friends or not. because at the end of the day, they are there to drive (fairly and safely). most times it stays on track, sometimes it does not. that's the reality in a high tension environment, but you guys refuse to give lando the leeway to complain (rightfully so), yet max can right? because it's max.

those two are not the first friends to fight on track, and certainly won't be the last, no matter how much we don't want that to happen. your entitlement is causing you to think that if it's not max dominating, it's nobody. let's get back to planet earth please. you've gotten too comfortable always winning, it's time you realised you're not going to forever have a dominating driver, especially in a sport that has teams constantly changing.

at the end of the day, lando got his maiden win and was championship contending (to an extent) all in one season. that's enough for my respect. what i have lost respect for, however, is max's fans. it's disappointing to see that instead of them *being accepting of lando* for how far he's come and competing with his world champion [best] friend, they've decided to be hypocritical and completely usurp his comment section with hate.

max and lando have never said they hated each other, but due to your poor media literacy, you've grasped at a non existent fruit and ran to the hills with it. you are most likely going to be the reason why their friendship falters, not them on their own.

People saying Gwyn and Az could not possibly be sexually compatible given Gwyn's past and because SJM once said in an interview that Az is "kinky" are forgetting a few things.

First, SJM hadn't even written the next ACOTAR book at that time. An offhand comment made to her friend while joking around is not the same thing as SJM sitting down, preparing to write the book and seeing where her character takes her, what feels like a fit for their personality, so basing what you think you know of Az off that is a reach.

Second, and this is not to sound snarky, but are those people confused on the meaning of kink? Kink is really anything outside of that which is considered vanilla, Rhys having sex with Feyre inside their minds would be considered kink.

There's a great big world of kink out there and the above is just a small list.

Do I think that's what SJM was referring to when she said Az was kinky? Probably not especially because that's considered a fetish more than a kink but she did address Az and Gwyn being singers so maybe that's his thing.

The point is we don't know what she meant by that comment, it could be any of a long list of things.

For all we know, Az himself likes being tied up as a way to take back his powerlessness while in the dungeon, a chance to control the narrative of what happened to him all those years ago.

The list of what she meant when she said that he was kinky is endless but I think some automatically assume Az is into whips and chains and there's nothing to suggest that. I think some fixate on him having the biggest wingspan, being "too much for Gwyn" while forgetting Feyre said that jokingly to Rhys with Rhys later remarking he was about to show the world who actually had the biggest wingspan.

Some try to elevate Az to some unholy sex god who could never be right for someone's official first time while ignoring what we actually know of Az.

For all that Az does to his enemies, think of how he is with the females he's around. He's gentle with Elain right? Gentle when he felt Feyre's wings. He has always been disturbed by the treatment his mother received and his treatment of women greatly contrasts that of how he acts with his enemies. For all we know, Az's kink is being a submissive.

But even if he isn't, we've got actual evidence proving Az would have no problem being gentle with Gwyn if that's what Gwyn wanted. Pairing her off with a random high lord she's never met because some assume he'd be better suited for her in the bedroom is???? I don't even know what to call that. Just because someone seems like a nice guy doesn't mean he's the same behind closed doors with a partner.

Lastly, why are people convinced that Elain would be into whatever Az's kink is? Elain slept with Graysen, her fiance a month before they were to be wed. To me that shows she was only willing to have an intimate relationship with him once they were prepared to make a lifelong commitment to one another. Also, wouldn't the better storyline for Elain be proving she's got no problems handling her mates fire?

Nearly kissing Az is not the same as sleeping with him so it seems a lot of assumptions are being made about both Elain and Gwyn in order to twist the outcome of a specific ship (surprise, surprise).

So, there we have it. There are some other good still-frames, but Tumblr will only allow so many pictures to be in one post, and I didn't want to push it. Plus, a lot of them come from the scenes that some of these were derived from, some very close at hand, in regard to them.

The takeaway is, that the trove of hot guy-thigh material in this film is another thing that gets criminally overlooked. (You know, aside from the relentlessly present "Gondor has no pants" jokes.)

Video Games as High Art

There's this guy I know from High School who is just so particular. So sure of himself, that every action he makes is the right one. A lot of people find him off-putting or hard to be friends with but I've always been drawn to strong personalities. Multiple times he has said this "In 20 years time everyone will be making jokes in the way that you do because your humour is 2 generations ahead". I would find this a compliment but one time we were discussing memes. I said that memes will never be high art, especially in their state now, because of how derivative they are and their use of copyrighted materials. He said "Well then I have some Dogelore comics to show you that would change your mind". Going through my posts, I have alluded to my thoughts of High Art. Seeing as I have had this blog for over a year now I think I should share it as I think about it every day. High Art is piece of work of great thematic depth and intellectual exploration that is exemplified by it's medium of choice. Historically, this has been limited to older mediums. Recently the discussion of video games as High Art has popped up as games are able to have richer stories. I don't think of video games as High Art. Video games are a tool, not an inherent artform. The interactivity and freedom of choice ironically limits the ways a story can be explored. Now this is not to say that games can not be high art, I have 3 examples. Donkey Kong Country: Going through the game you can see the ways industrialisation has affected the island with the enemies becoming more and more militaristic and technological based, much like the original Sonic, and at the end you fight a king, the purest representation of this idea. You fight him on a pirate ship. The next game is a mirror, fighting back the force that tried to colonise your homeland. Sadly, the third game does not continue with this rich theming. Metal Gear Solid 2: The MGS games have been lauded for their rich and deep story. I guess that's the but it's more so a fun spy plot with some of the greatest voice acting in a video game. The second game, however, is a rich deconstruction of men's relationship with power fantasies. But this deconstruction is one layer removed from the medium of video game as it's all subtext. New Vegas: I don't really need to discuss this one, there's a reason it's still being discussed today. Now I haven't played a lot of RPGs but the ones I have had no level of depth as New Vegas. But, I believe that RPGs would be the best genre for High Art as they are all about choices and story. The issue with video games is that since it's such a new medium a) we have yet to see what will stand the test of time thematically b) because it's still so new the standards for a good story are much less than something like film. That's a reason why video game movies aren't good, they're stretching a thin plot that's decent within it's context as not being the focus into a 2hr screenplay. Video games can be High Art, they should be, but it is not going to happen until the designers can accept the constraints of being a video game and using that to help them. The worse games are trying to be movies. Can you imagine if in a film there was narration to explain everyone's emotions, in order to feel like a book, forgetting it's a visual medium? That's what a cutscene is! Be proud of being a video game, respect your history. That is how video games will become High Art.

Do you respond to comments? Why/why not? Yes, absolutely. If someone liked my fic enough to tell me about it, I appreciate it! Also a lot of people say interesting or insightful things that I hadn't thought of, or HAD thought of but didn't include, and I'm always down to talk about things I'm interested. It's a great way to make fandom friends!

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Oh that's a hard one. I'm an angsty writer tbh. There are a lot of fics I've written where one or more characters die. I think one of them would be the Detecive L/The Rebel crossover - We Both Know How This Ends: where two former spies, who had once placed their hopes in a new, better era, have to live with the truth of what bitter end they have achieved. It's also heavily implied that Lin Nansheng will not be allowed to survive long by the very system he sacrificed everything to help instate.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? This is also a hard one. Most of my longer fics are angsty. I guess there's Da-ge's Midlife Crisis Boyfriend: a Mo Sanmei/Qiao Yicheng slice-of-life romcom where nothing particularly bad ever happens, and everyone ends up happy together in the end.

Do you get hate on fics? Oh yeah I used to, for sure. Cray-cray shit. But that was more of a fandom issue. I tend to leave fandoms that get toxic, and I'm happy to report that nowadays I no longer do. (niche retro sci fi fandoms my beloved <3)

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Occasionally. Usually it's either humorous or some kind of character development. Smut is like fight scenes, there's a lot of movement going on, it's hard to keep track of who's doing what with which body part, so I tend to avoid it, but now and then I dabble. I've found that it's easier to write smut when one or both characters is not Human, for whatever reason.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? WeiLan Derivs babeyyy! Yeah, I've written a ton. The craziest one would probably have to be the little one-shot prompt collections I've written about two characters from different fandoms shipped together, but they're played by the same guy.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? I've had concepts and plots stolen, bits of dialogue stolen, and way back in the day, someone re-uploaded my shitty InuYasha fanfic from ff.net to WattPad, but it's been deleted since.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Yeah! A few different ones.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? No. Sometimes I bounce ideas around with someone, or ask for help when I'm stuck. But I'd be curious to try it, if only it wasn't so involving - IRL is a bitch.

What's your all-time favorite ship? Just ONE?? You're kidding, right??? I'm currently obsessed with G'Kar/Londo Mollari from B5, but then there's also Garak/Bashir from DS9, and I can't ever forget Lan Qiren/Wen Ruohan from MDZS, but also ENT's Shran/Archer have a special place in my heart---- [gets shot]

What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Oh fuck dude... So many. There are so, so many.

What are your writing strengths? Beyond a shadow of a doubt, dialogue. I just like writing people talking. Everything else is so hard...

What are your writing weaknesses? Run-on sentences. Repeating stuff I already said, even in the same words. Scene blocking. Scene description: I tend to just offer up a paragraph of "where this is happening" and then completely forget where everyone is standing or sitting and what room they're in. I keep having to go back and add characters interacting with their environments between dialogue tags smh...

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? If it's a language you know? Go for it! If it's a language you don't know, ask someone who speaks the language whether the dialogue sounds insane. You have no idea how many times I stumble across someone having decided to slip in some Russian or Chinese into a character's speech, and it sounds ridiculous, and I have to immediately stop reading because of the cringe (even if it was a good fic up until then!)

First fandom you wrote for? I'm pretty sure it was InuYasha? Maybe Bleach or Naruto? I was 14 and a weeb, for sure tho.

Favorite fic you've written? That's another hard question! Most of the time, I'm pretty neutral on the stuff I've written, unless I actively despise it. For me it's about hearing the characters in my head as I write, rather than even the finished result. I think that's what I tend to mean when I say I'm writing for myself - I'm trying to recapture the feeling of watching or reading that media for the first time, by creating some extension of it in my head, and then bringing it out on "paper." That aside, I've been getting quite a lot of enjoyment out of my Babylon 5 ficlets lately.

Probably not for me to add on but two comments because this thread is interesting. It seems in Rr world immortality and God hood are not the same thing. My reasoning is the hunters, they become immortal and seemingly maintain any powers they already have but otherwise they're still very human. Treated as no different than very trained demigods. Therefore it stands to reason that making someone immortal is different/ operates on different rules than making someone a God, minor or otherwise.

Second point for thought I took a few classic courses in college (would have minored but one of the requirements was learning greek doesn't exactly mix well with a hearing disabilities) In that class I was taught that Mr D (basically dyslexic not spelling his name) was a God because of the removal as his human mother in his birthing process. To make a myth short. His mother was dusted by Zeus godly form. In other to save his son Zeus sowed him into his "thigh." I put air marks because this is the most popular version of the myth in modern time. Reading the original translation in clase apperently it was another word (I forget it's been years) where the translation alluded to him actually being sewed in the sky (I think a cloud to be exact) in not in Zeus thigh. So this could possibly tie into the whole gods giving some of their power (if we go with the first version) or something with domains, like Mr. D already intrinsically tied with the world/culture because he was birth from a domain . Either way Mr. D is an kind of represents all three elements of a god, cultural importance, having a domain, and believe in himself (yall should read his plays/ myths this guy was soooo overly confident, just a Lil cocky mf)

It seems what the empiros lack is a natural domain. Which might be why they can be immortal but without some God giving them power or some godly item that grants them God like power their never be God by themselves. Meanwhile since Apollo already has a domain he can grant himself immortality. Meanwhile MrD was basically always one step away from being a God. (if you know anything about Christianity and the iteration of Jesus always being God/ a part of God, that's Mr. D but like with Zeus in a way according to me but back by my professor who said that was a good analogy on my essay 😅)

Zeus actually has a lot of say over a lot of Olympians not just because of being the king but with most of them being derived from him in some way (for instance some people argue that because Athena is born of Zeus she despite being wisdom can't be wiser than Zeus or think too differently than him at least) and the other domains are tied to his (sun and moon need the sky, seas and ties need moon/sky, there's no harvest without the the sun, rain, etc which need the sky) the only equal to sky is the earth but... Insert rant about the dethroning of women in Greek mythology with turn the world from a matriarchy to a patriarchy or whatever which effectively "depowers" the earth so to say. It's why the earth even needs the other gods or humans according to the class. This only really leaves the underworld which doesn't need the sky to exist. For the Percy Jackson lore this could tie into part of the reason Zeus is like screw his brother. So Zeus could possibly be concern bc by this thread theory there's a lot of people who could possibly weaken him or at least he thinks so. This could also tie into why he can take the other gods powers. If one of the tier is belief in self it's hard to imagine yourself stronger or separate from Zeus if you're a Greek god because his domain is tied to the existence of your domain, not to mention all of culture (imagine if the sky just dipped) therefore they unknowingly give Zeus the power to take their Godlyness away without meaning to (this is why Apollo journey in toa is such a big deal)

I would also like to point out the elephant in the room, the og Percy Jackson series operates differently it's concept of Gods, Olympians, immortal, and all that stuff. Later series seem to use immortality and that basically being God hood interchangeably. Though it's fun to find a way it could all work.

what are your thoughts on the olympians’ thrones? we know that they are connected to the power of the gods, and that kronos’ tactic was to destroy olympus/their thrones in order to weaken them (so when kronos destroyed the arm rest of ares’ throne, did that weaken him during the battle with typhon?)

but why should the destruction of their thrones weaken them? isn’t the source of their power, their divinity, well, themselves? and what of minor gods? or what about during the first titanomachy? sorry for the lengthy question but it’s all very confusing and im interested in hearing your take.

THE OLYMPIAN THRONES

first let's see what Dionysus had to say about this in The Last Olympian

"—the other gods would never admit this, but we actually need you mortals to rescue Olympus. You see, we are manifestations of your culture. If you don't care enough to save Olympus yourselves—"

Let's look at the third part first! Dionysus tells us that the gods are manifestations of human culture. And as we know, in the RRverse, the gods have moved around with the flame of progression, where the most human power is allocated. This is why they are in the US in the RRverse, and why they tend to reflect a more American culture (ie, Zeus in a CEO suit, Poseidon as a fisherman, Ares is a biker, ect.)

So what I'm getting from Dionysus's explanation here, is that the gods and human culture are intrinsically intertwined with each other. You can't have one without the other and all that. If human culture fades, the gods weaken, and if the gods weaken, human culture fades.

Something interesting to note here is that Dionysus says that the gods will fade if their thrones are destroyed...interesting, considering Dionysus and Percy also discuss how Pan faded.

But Pan didn't fade because of a lack of human belief/culture - he faded because his domain was being destroyed. Helios and Selene faded because they lost faith in themselves.

I think Dionysus might be overexaggerating a bit here. I don't think the gods would have necessarily faded if their thrones were destroyed- just significantly weakened. And perhaps, weak enough that if they ever just decided to give up...they would fade.

(Which brings up an interesting notion of Dionysus fearing them fading, because maybe that implies he thinks not all of them have the willpower to push through that...food for thought)

Kronos destroying Ares's arm rest is curious, since after the defeat of Typhon, we see the Olympian gods and nothing is out of the ordinary, even with Ares. So I'm guessing the arm rest getting cut off didn't exactly affect Ares, but if a larger piece of the throne or even the throne itself was sliced up? We'd have a different story.

I believe the source of the gods' power comes from a variety of places- mortal belief, their thrones, and belief in themselves. We see the latter occurring with Apollo in The Tower of Nero especially, where he's able to bring himself back into immortality on his own willpower, and I think we even see this happening with Hades and Poseidon, leaving their respected realms to come to the aid of Olympus and leaving behind their grudge (Hades) and ego (Poseidon) for the greater good.

This brings up an interesting idea, then. The Olympians have three main sources of power. But are they even aware of the third?

Because think about it. People, in series and out, have automatically assumed Helios and Selene faded because of a lack of mortal belief. But, that is not what happened, for they were still majorly worshipped- instead, it was a lack of faith in themselves. They lost their sense of self.

So I think the "power ranking" of these sources go as follows;

Belief in self

Mortal belief

Thrones

Mortal belief is often talked about, especially in ToA where Nero tells us mortals gave him a prolonged life and eventually immortality. He does not have a throne like the Olympians, though he does have a fasces, where his immortality is stored.

Could it be that the Olympian's immortality is stored in their thrones? Maybe. But remember, Nero is a wannabe god. There has to be drawbacks to that, and I bet the fasces was one of them. He has to contain his immortality in something, while the Olympians do not, because they are immortal. Full stop.

Now minor gods...this is a bit trickier, but I think minor gods have a power scaling of their own. The Olympians are on another level for godly power- they are The Squad so to speak.

How powerful minor gods are I think depends on their domain, as well as mortal belief/their own belief.

Hecate, for example, is probably exceptionally powerful for a minor goddess because of her position as the goddess of magic, the Mist, and crossroads among other things (did you know she has some influence over prophecy? ;3 she and Apollo were two sides of the same coin when it came to prophecy).

Iris is probably not as powerful as Hecate is, because, uh, rainbows aren't exactly powerful when it comes to magic XD

As for the Elder Olympians' power during the Titanomachy...that's also interesting to think about. Imo, I think their power grew over the time of the war, since they didn't really have the opportunity to fine-tune anything what with being in Kronos's stomach and all lol

Zeus probably got more practice in when he was young, but probably not as much when he became cupbearer. And I also think the symbols of power of the Big Three help channel their power- which now has a funny image because here are the guys learning how to focus their power with training wheels while the girls are just fucking around and finding out.

Demeter probably strangled a few people with her plants. Hera probably unleased a hoard of peacocks on someone. Hestia no doubt set a few things on fire.

hey guys, so I’ve finished reading BnHA 342 which was a delight to read, but my reaction post is very, very long and will take some time to edit, so in the meantime I’ve decided to make a separate post just to talk about this one character interaction which I am absolutely obsessed with!

let’s see how long of an analysis I can make about this ONE, SINGLE JOKING REMARK THAT KACCHAN MADE COMPLETELY OFFHANDEDLY.

1. so first off, let’s just cut straight to the heart of the matter: this. is. friendship. no more denial. no more HAH, NO WAY, OF COURSE WE AREN’T FRIENDS NOW WALK BEHIND ME!!! the Kacchan who was too embarrassed and too chuuni to admit that he was friends with Shouto died at Jakku. and the Kacchan who’s been running the show ever since then is someone who openly worries about Shouto (asking about him immediately after waking up in the hospital), unabashedly provides him with emotional support (hand on the shoulder when class 1-A confronted Endeavor), and hangs out with him in his room because he doesn’t want Shouto to be going through all this shit alone.

2. speaking as someone whose own #1 love language is using humor to try and relax people and make them feel comfortable and safe and welcomed and at ease, the fact that Katsuki used a joke as his chosen method of support here brought me SO MUCH JOY I can barely even begin to express it. and it’s not even the first time he’s done this! never forget that one time after Kamino where class 1-A was all bummed after Aizawa told them off for coming to save him, and so he grabbed Kaminari and dragged him into the bushes and made him activate his derp mode in order to ease the tension! and also to distract them so he could quietly pay Kirishima back for the night vision goggles, because that is his OTHER love language (cold hard cash!! nah lol I’m referring to the act of physically, tangibly paying him back; showing his gratitude not just with words but with actions), but yeah. 

my point is, for someone who always seems to be so angry and serious, Kacchan has a sharp sense of humor that he apparently just keeps tucked away under wraps, and dusts off only for rare special occasions like these, and I absolutely LOVE it and I need it to happen WAY MORE OFTEN. there is a very real possibility of me making a compilation post of every single time Kacchan has made a joke and/or actually laughed about something, just because I’m that desperate to know more about this expertly dry wit of his now.

3. getting back to his friendship with Shouto, this next talking point is the one that’s already been done to death (because you know I went and looked up all those 342 tumblr reactions and metas after I read this chapter because I needed to soak up that analysis asap), but nonetheless this post would not be complete without it! so this is very obviously a commentary on the fact that Shouto’s favorite food is cold soba! a fact which is known to every single citizen of the world! in fact this joke even takes that last part into account, since it relies on that fact being common knowledge in order to stick the landing! in a way it’s partially a friendly little dig at Shouto for making his favorite food such an important part of his personality! like, “hmm, so what would be the worst case scenario for Touya. well obviously it would be him liking something other than soba, since we all know that’s a deal-breaker.” basically this joke derives a good 60% of its humor from the fact that Shouto just loves soba THAT damn much. and Kacchan is obviously WELL aware of this fact because, as we all know, he and Shouto are actually best friends.

4. quick side note, this is also a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it callback to chapter 164, which featured this hilarious interchange between Shouto and his OTHER best friend.

thus adding the additional meta layer that Shouto actually does canonically consider people who like udon to be FUNDAMENTALLY INCOMPATIBLE WITH HIM AS PEOPLE lmao. and Katsuki knows this because he was listening in on that whole conversation and bitching about the two of them being total weirdos! but ALSO he was apparently filing notes away in the back of his big hero brain because he loves Todo actually, so yeah. love it when a scene in a newer chapter retroactively makes a scene from an old chapter even better.

5. lest you worry that Kacchan is back to his OLD VILLAINOUS BULLYING WAYS by poking fun at poor sweet innocent Shouto here, let’s now talk about the ways in which this joke is also a sick burn on Touya! because that of course is the other 40% of the joke! if Shouto’s favorite food is soba, then OBVIOUSLY Touya’s favorite food is going to be the complete opposite of that, because Touya is the worst! just the absolute worst. man fuck that guy!

so there are a couple of additional layers to this part. the first is that Katsuki is very much aware of the delicate balance that needs to be struck here. because he genuinely, unironically DOES know Shouto pretty damn well by now, and so he understands how conflicted Shouto is about his brother. and because he’s a good friend, he’s supportive of Shouto’s desire to somehow redeem Touya if at all possible. and so instead of going all in on how Touya is a founding member of the final villains club WHO BRAGGED ABOUT KILLING THIRTY PEOPLE and who also KIDNAPPED HIM THAT ONE TIME, the worst thing that Kacchan accuses him of here is... having a different favorite food than Shouto. this is basically the gentlest, mildest “fuck that guy” that anyone could have possibly given here.

and then the second bonus layer is that Katsuki is very clearly taking Shouto’s side here. that’s the only possible way for this joke to land. the humor works because Katsuki takes the mundane accusation of liking hot udon, and twists it into a sick fucking burn, because ONLY AN UNHINGED LUNATIC WOULD DARE TO LIKE SUCH A COMPLETELY OPPOSITE FOOD FROM COLD SOBA, THE BELOVED FAVORITE FOOD OF TODOROKI SHOUTO. in other words, if you don’t like Todoroki Shouto’s favorite food, then FUCK YOU! Team Soba all the way! so yeah, it has that connotation too, which is actually very sweet.

6. last but not least, I just want to take a moment to gush about how this was all just perfectly executed and timed. Shouto sets him up for it, and Kacchan pounces on the opportunity without hesitation and delivers the perfect response, which immediately relieves some of the quiet tension in the room, and honest to god actually makes Shouto laugh.

sort of! that was a chuckle at least! it counts!! anyways the point is, Katsuki read the room perfectly and understood that Shouto was trying to lighten the mood and didn’t want to have a heavy conversation about all of his feelings right now (which is something that Katsuki understands very well), so he followed Shouto’s lead and met him at that level, while still managing to communicate (1) “I know how conflicted you are about all of this”, (2) “I’ve got your back”, and most importantly, (3) “we are friends, and I care about you and support you in all things, you big soba loving freak.” it’s affectionate, it’s heartwarming, and it’s genuinely funny as hell.

anyway so yeah, that’s my RIDICULOUSLY, UNJUSTIFIABLY LONG post about what has instantly become one of my all time favorite little throwaway BnHA moments, right up there with the legendary “hey Kacchan!” scene. Kacchan being friends with people. Shouto getting some much-deserved love. Iida and Kirishima being there too, and presumably smiling and taking notes and maybe one day they can tell their children about this. that’s what it’s all about folks.

~ a couple months later ~

Winter break was approaching now and you and Jungkook couldn’t wait to go home to your families and celebrate the upcoming year together. You two had so many plans with each other.

All the cheesy romantic stuff you watched on tv.

Jungkook suggested ice skating, drinking hot chocolate, watching movies while cuddling up with each other for warmth.

You just couldn’t wait to get away from school and just focus on you two. 

Along with your friends of course. Taehyung and Jimin did plan a short road trip together for all six of you. Hyejin would’ve come but she had plans with her own group of friends.

You cuddled into Jungkook’s side as you two laid on his bed. Class just finished, it was now the weekend! Jungkook and you decided to binge watch some Stranger Things. To forget about the stress class has been bringing you.

You would’ve watched ponyo like you always do when class makes you sad, but you watched it 3 other times this week already.

Yes, your classes have been that stressful. 

“They were so small,” Jungkook says, referring to the actors of the characters that played the kids in Stranger Things. You two decided to rewatch from the very beginning. You nod your head, your cheek rubbing on his chest. 

“I used to have the biggest crush on Steve,” you mumble. 

“Yeah same, I love Steve. I wanted his hair,” Jungkook says, running his fingers through his own hair. You giggle at this. 

“Nancy doesn’t deserve him,” He adds, “I still remember when we first watched season 4.” He rolls his eyes, you can see him from the black part of the screen. You laugh.

*Knock Knock*

You two jump at the loud knocking. Jungkook hits the space bar and pauses the show. 

“Are you expecting anyone?” you ask him as he slips out from under you. 

“No, but I’ll go see what’s up,” he says.

He opens the door and it reveals an upset looking Jimin.

“Hey,” Jungkook says. “What are you doing here?”

“Is Yn with you?” he asks, looking behind Jungkook. You furrow your brows, sitting up. His eyes widened as he spotted you and he pushed right past Jungkook.

“Hey!” Jungkook says out loud. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Yn, I’ve been looking for you everywhere!” Jimin yells out. He looks at the laptop right next to you. “You’re watching stranger things?” 

“Yes? Why?” You say confused.

“What’s going on?” Jungkook says, closing the door and walking towards the older one. 

“Guys it’s the week before finals, why are you choosing now to binge watch a show?” Jimin says. “You guys can’t save it for winter break instead?”

“We just wanted to relax a bit before finals, you know, it’s been a stressful week,” Jungkook says, sitting by you.

“Yeah, I don’t get what’s the big deal,” you tell Jimin, looking up at him as you scoot next to Jungkook, wrapping your arm around his and resting your chin on his shoulder.

“You guys are cute,” Jimin says. “But you really should focus on finals first before everything, especially you Yn.”

You frown at him.

“You need to pass the final to pass your calculus class,” Jimin says. “And you’re still struggling with integrals and derivatives–”

“Please, give me a trigger warning before you say those words,” you say, bringing your fingers up to your temples and massaging them. “You just gave me an instant headache.” 

“Seriously Yn, if you slack off now, you’re just going to make it worse for yourself. You’re going to end up retaking calc again next semester if you fail.”

You frown, closing the laptop and standing up from the bed.

“Fine, are you going to help me then?” you say.

“Duh, that’s why I’ve been looking for you. I heard from other students that your professor said it was going to be the hardest exam you’ll take all year.”

“I was spacing out when they mentioned it,” you admit. “So I can’t recall.” Jimin rolls his eyes at you.

“Just go, we’ll continue this later,” Jungkook says. 

“You mean you’ll continue after finals.” Jimin says, raising his eyebrows at Jungkook. Jungkook nods his head.

“Exactly.”

“You know I’m sure you’re just doing this because if I fail, everyone will think that you’re a bad tutor,” you say to Jimin, crossing your arms over your chest.

“No yeah, that’s exactly why. I can’t let you ruin my reputation!” He walks away, grabbing your arm with him. 

“WoAH!” You yell in surprise as you get taken away by Jimin. 

“We’ll see you later Jungkook!” He yells behind him.

“Yeah, just bring my girlfriend back in one piece please!”

“So you and Jungkook have other plans besides our road trip for winter break?” Taehyung asks you, sitting right next to you as Jimin tries to tutor you for the nth time this semester. You three were in a private room in the library once again. 

“Taehyung shut up,” Jimin tells him. “We’re trying to work here.”

“I know, I’m just asking real quick,” he says, ignoring him and turning back to you. “So what are your plans?”

Jimin groans, turning around and hitting his head against the white board. “We’re never going to get anything done,” he mutters under his breath.

“Just the normal winter couple stuff,” you say, turning to Taehyung. He stares at you with a blank face.

“Like what, I don’t know what those are, I’m lonely,” he says. You laugh at him. 

“I’ll tell you about it later, Jimin’s going to get mad at me and it’s going to be all your fault,” you say.

“Good, thank you Yn,” Jimin says. “Like I was saying, x–”

“So you guys are here,” Hobi says, walking in through the door without a warning. Jimin drops his head. “Yn, I’ve been meaning to ask. How are you and Jungkook doing?” He says. “Good right? Nothing to be scared of~”

“We’re doing great actually! I mean it’s only like 2 months in, so like, anything can happen…” 

“Good, you’re making her doubt again,” Taehyung says, slapping the table.

“No I’m not! I was just asking!”

“Guys,” Jimin says.

“No I’m not doubting,” you say. “I’m just saying, anything can happen. But I’m sure me and Jungkook will be fine.”

“Yn,” Jimin interrupts again. 

“Sorry,” you say, picking your pencil back up. “I’m listening.”

Jimin sighs. “You better be, because you and Jungkook are going to be fine. What you need to worry about,” he taps on your paper. “Is your grade.”

“Oh yeah, you suck so much at math that you wasted a wish on that,” Jin says, laughing at you. You three whip your head to the corner of the room.

“Where did you come from?” Taehyung says, surprised. 

“I literally walked in with Hobi,” he says, pointing at Hoseok. 

“Anyways,” you say. “Jungkook’s wish came true, I wished to pass calc. It’ll come true too.”

“What if it doesn’t,” Hoseok says, smirking at you. 

“Don’t do that,” you say, glaring at him.

“The what if girl,” he calls you. “I’m proud of you that you don’t think like that anymore.”

“Thank you,” you say. “I’m going to pass this test, I know it. I just have to believe in myself, be confident, and work hard.”

“Easy for you to say,” Jimin says behind everyone. “Yn we’re supposed to be studying? I should really charge you for my time, maybe you’d take it seriously then.”

“I’m sorry I’m sorry, I’ll pay attention now I promise,” you say. 

“Alright,” Jimin says. “Now if everyone can please leave? She gets easily distracted with just me around here. It’ll be impossible if you all stay.”

“Sorry,” they all muttered, getting up and leaving.

“Thank you,” Jimin says, releasing a big sigh as everyone steps out. “Ready?” He asks you.

You nod, sitting up straight in your chair.

“But Yn,” Taehyung says, popping his head back in.

“TAEHYUNG.” Jimin yells.

“SORRY BUT REAL QUICK.”

“Guys!” you whispered scream, “we’re in the library!”

“Sorry, but I just wanted to tell you what my Psych professor told me the other day.”

Jimin sighs, motioning for him to come in. “Make it quick.” Taehyung nods, walking in and pulling the chair next to you. 

“Well I was talking to my psych professor, he used to be a therapist before he switched to teaching, and I was having some doubts about… stuff, you know, life. And I was in the same situation that you were, with the questioning and the what if’s. And he told me that if a thought starts with the words ‘what if’, that it’s an intrusive thought. Meaning that the thought isn’t coming from you but instead the opposite of who you are. It’s there to scare you. So if it’s there, just ignore it, because you’ll be okay.” 

“Wow,” you say, not expecting it but you believe it’s something you needed. “Thanks Tae, I’ll keep that in mind.” He smiles at you, nodding his head. 

“I know you said you don’t doubt about it anymore, and I believe that. But I figured I would share it just in case. I wish I knew it sooner and could’ve told you about it back then.”

You shake your head. “It’s okay, I’m sure everything was supposed to happen the way it did. But I needed it anyway. I hope whatever you were questioning about yourself is resolved now though. If anything, you can always talk to us.”

“I know,” he says. He pats your shoulder. “Good luck with calc, I’m sure you’ll pass.” He turns to Jimin. “You have him with you after all.”

“Thanks Tae,” Jimin says. “Now leave please.”

“Of course, thank you for your time Mr. Park,” Taehyung says, bowing before him. “See you later Yn.”

You giggle, “Bye Tae.”

You turn to Jimin when the door closes behind him as he rushes out. 

“He always surprises me,” you say. 

“That’s Taehyung for you,” he says. “Now where were we? Wait, I should lock the door before we start.”

Jungkook decided to take this time to work on his final project for his graphic design class. He took his laptop with him to Magic shop, sitting by the window in the far corner.

The final project was an easy one, at least that’s what his professor said. Which it was, I mean, everything in that class was pretty easy. Especially if you already knew how to work photoshop well. Which Jungkook did. The hardest part really was thinking of an idea of what to create. 

“Here’s your drink,” GaEun says, handing Jungkook an iced americano.

“Thank you,” he says to her, smiling up as he grabs the drink. 

“Yn’s not with you today?” She asks, you were usually always there with him. He shakes his head, taking a sip from the straw.

“She’s with Jimin, studying for calculus,” he answers her. She makes a knowing face.

“I forgot,” she says. 

“Yeah,” he says. “But I’ll bring her here first thing when she passes.” 

“Can’t wait then,” she says. “Let me know if you need anything else.”

“Will do, thank you.” Jungkook goes back to his laptop, bringing his cup up where the straw hits his lips perfectly. He doesn’t sip from it, kind of just keeps it there. 

He sighs, reading the instructions for his project, over and over and over again. His creative block couldn’t have come at a worst time.

“What are you doing?” A small voice says to him. Jungkook’s eyes widened, looking to the side to see a little boy with similar round eyes staring back at him. 

“Hm?” Jungkook says, caught off guard by this random little stranger. 

“Are you playing games?” He asks this time, putting his hand on Jungkook’s lap in an attempt to push himself up to get a better look at his laptop. 

“Oh, no. I’m doing my assignment,” Jungkook responds. He looks around to see if this little boy is with anyone. “Are you by yourself?” He asks him. The little boy shakes his head, turning around to point at a sign on the wall.

“Mommy’s in the restroom.” He answers. 

“Oh okay,” Jungkook says. “Do you want to stay here, then, until mommy’s back?” The little boy nods. Jungkook notices the little boy holding a brown bag. He points to it. “Whatcha have there?”

The little boy looks down. “Oh, my mommy bought cookies at the bakery over there.” He points to the direction of 24/7 Heaven. “Do you want one?”

Jungkook giggles at him. 

“Sure,” he says, watching the little boy reach his small hands into the bag. “I’m Jungkook by the way.”

“Here, hyung,” he says, handing Jungkook a cookie. Jungkook smiles as he takes the cookie from him.

“Thank you. You know, my friends actually call me Kookie–”

“Sian!” The little boy’s head whips around and he smiles sheepishly at someone walking towards him. It must be his mom. The lady bends down to the boy’s level. “I told you to stay by the door.” She looks up at Jungkook. “I’m so sorry, I hope he wasn’t a bother.” 

“No no,” he says, shaking his head and waving his hands in front of him. “He wasn’t a bother at all. He’s a really cute kid.” The little boy smiles up at Jungkook, making him smile as well.

The lady sighs. “He gets all this from his dad.” She looks at her son, nudging him. “We gotta go, say bye to the nice man.”

The little boy waves at Jungkook. 

“Bye Sian.”

Jungkook watches them leave before going back to his laptop. 

He rereads the instructions over and over.

It wasn’t like it was complicated. He just didn’t know what to do with it.

‘Create a promotional poster for a business. Fictional or real. Extra points if you’re able to get a local business to use it.’

“You look like you’re having trouble,” Gaeun says, walking up to Jungkook. She bends down to look at the assignment.

“Do you think you can help me?” Jungkook asks her. 

“Like how? Are you doing it for a fictional business? Or a well known one like mcdonald’s or 7-eleven.”

“Well if I do a local business, I get extra points,” he says, hoping she’ll be able to do something for Magic Shop to be able to use his poster. 

“Are you asking for Magic Shop to be your muse~” She says, standing up. “Because if you are, Taehyung beat you to it.” Jungkook makes a face.

“Ugh, what?” Gaeun laughs.

“He came here when the assignment was given last week and asked me if it would be okay. My boss said yeah,” she said.

“Do you two talk often? You and Taehyung?” Jungkook asks suddenly. As far as he knew, Taehyung still liked her very much but still struggled in talking to her.

“Mm, from time to time,” she answers. “But anyways, why don’t you ask Yoongi? I’m sure you can make something for 24/7 Heaven.” Jungkook gasps.

“You’re right,” he says, beginning to gather his things. “I should get there before anyone beats me to it too. Thanks Gaeun.” 

“Yeah, no problem.”

“A poster? For what?” Yoongi asks Jungkook. Jungkook explains to him the assignment one more time.

“Like for anything, as long as it’s promoting something from your shop and you use it.” Jungkook says. “Like a new pastry, or a new item on the menu you want people to try. Anything. I’ll make a poster for it and you can hang it up somewhere.”

“I’ll go ask my manager and I’ll get back to you.” Jungkook nods.

“Great,” he says. He stares at Yoongi as he just stands there, staring back. “... are you going to go ask her?”

“She’s not here,” he answers. 

“Oh. Well when can you ask then?” He questions, needing to know as soon as possible so that he can get started on the assignment. 

“She’ll be here in a couple of hours, I’ll ask her then and then I can text you.”

“Okay,” Jungkook says. “Well while I’m here, can I have some cookies? This little boy came up to me today and gave me one. He says it’s from here. I don’t remember what kind it was.”

“Was it a little boy with big round eyes, about this tall?” Yoongi says, holding his hand up to his waist. 

“Yes~” Jungkook answers. “He’s with his mom.” Yoongi nods, walking to the side to grab the cookies.

“Yeah they come here often,” he says, putting the cookies in a bag. “But they’re good right?”

“Very,” Jungkook says. “I think Yn will like them. I’m going to give her some after her study session.”

“How sweet of you,” Yoongi says, but his voice sounded very mono toned. Jungkook laughs at this.

“Are you doing anything this winter break?” He suddenly asks. Yoongi looks at him with one eyebrow up. 

“Are you asking me out?” He answers. Jungkook’s eyes widened.

“What! No?” he exclaims in surprise. “I just wanted to invite you to our friendship road trip that Taehyung and Jimin were planning.” 

“You want to invite me?” Yoongi asks in surprise. “I barely know them.” Jungkook shrugs. 

“So? Then you’ll get to know them then,” he smiles. “What do you say? You can bring your other friend if you’d like.”

“I’ll think about it,” Yoongi answers. “Who else will be there?”

“Well it’s me, Yn, Jimin, Taehyung, Jin, and Hobi,” Jungkook says. “We invited Hyejin too but she had plans.”

“Oh,” Yoongi says. “Okay, I’ll let Namjoon know.”

“Good, we’d love to have you two there. The more the better,” Jungkook says, smiling at the older one. You eight knew each other a bit. Talking here and there, greeting each other when you meet in class, but you eight weren’t exactly friends. At least not yet.

Hopefully this trip can change that.

Jimin walks you to your dorm, praising you for being able to learn so quickly in a short amount of time.

“See, if you just focus, you can do it. You did so well! You learned and understood everything so fast,” he tells you. “I’m really surprised actually.”

“Do you think I'll pass the exam then?” You ask him. The two of you get to your door and you unlock it, walking in. 

“You will, for sure. Just keep reviewing okay? Don’t slack off now that you finally get it. Keep practicing so you get better and you don’t forget.” You nod, stepping to the side to let him in.

“I will,” you say. “Do you want to come in?” He shakes his head no.

“No it’s okay. I have to go meet with Taehyung anyways. Relax for now though. You worked hard the past few hours. I’ll send you some practice equations tonight that you can work on throughout the week. To study with.” He begins to walk backwards. “Don’t slack off.” He points.

You roll your eyes, nodding your head.

“I won't, I promise,” you say. You grab onto the door frame, peeking your head out as he walks down the hall. “Thank you, Jimin. When I pass I’ll make sure to tell everyone that you’re the best tutor!” 

“You better!”

You laugh as you watch him leave. 

You then go back into your dorm, closing the door.

“Wow you really were just going to invite him in?” you hear, making you jump. You turn around and see your boyfriend sitting on your bed with a brown bag on his lap. 

“Jungkook!” You yell happily, running towards him and tackling him onto the bed. He laughs, hugging you tightly as he pushes himself on top of you.

“What are you doing here?” you ask him, petting his hair back and squishing his face. He giggles, grabbing the brown bag and holding it up.

“I brought you cookies. Jimin texted me that you were doing so well. I wanted to reward you for it.”

You pout, sitting up as he slid off of you to hand you a cookie.

“You’re literally the sweetest, thank you,” you said, grabbing the cookie from him and giving him a little kiss.

“So should we continue what we were doing earlier or did Professor Jimin ban you from Netflix for the rest of the week..” Jungkook says, slowly pulling his laptop towards him. “Just one episode?”

“I think one episode won’t hurt.”

“Okay good, because I wasn’t leaving until we watched an episode,” Jungkook says, already getting under your blanket. You smile at him.

“Maybe let’s not watch it then,” you joke, pushing the laptop close. 

But it flew right over his head.

“Aww what,” he whines.

“No, I was kidding,” you said. He furrows his brows at you. “Because you said you weren’t leaving until we watched an episode and if we don’t watch any then you’ll never–” you groan. “Nevermind, it’s not fun when you have to explain it. Scoot over.”

Gaster’s Motif Throughout Chapter 2

I’ve been long overdue for some Deltarune musical analysis, and I’m pleased to present my findings for Gaster’s motif and its appearances in chapter 2. If you haven’t read my analysis on chapter 1, you can find that right here if you’re interested. Before we get started, I would just like to remind everyone to not take these things too seriously; music is filled with silly little coincidences all the time, and the presence of a similar melody doesn’t always mean that a character/scene is connected to our favorite mystery man. I am a simple music nerd presenting his findings. With that said, let’s jump right back into it!

What is Gaster’s Motif?

If you haven’t read my chapter 1 analysis or simply need a refresher, Gaster’s motif is derived from the music file “mus_st_him.ogg”, otherwise known as Gaster’s Theme. The transcription reads as follows:

If you’ll remember from last time, we decided to define Gaster’s motif as simply “starting tone” -> up a minor second (half step) -> up a perfect fifth. 

In chapter 1 this motif appears all over the place, from the starting track of Another Him, to the ending track of Don’t Forget. I find it very suspicious. But I’m pleased to report that chapter 2′s OST is STILL chock-full of this mysterious motif.

The Noelle Connection?

This was the first time I noticed the motif making a comeback. In the track “Girl Next Door” we’re introduced to what we would probably consider Noelle’s theme for the first time. It’s an adorably cute track, but what’s this I hear? A mere 17 seconds into the track you can hear the bass come in with same sequence as described above: up minor second -> up perfect fifth. D Eb Bb.

We can hear it once again on the second phrase at the 0:28 mark.

If that wasn’t enough for one track, Toby introduces it AGAIN in the main melody on the synth bells at the 0:38 mark.

So now we have a strange situation here that we didn’t necessarily encounter in chapter 1, right? The Gaster’s sequence is... INSIDE another character’s motif. And the above melody is DEFINITELY one of her motifs, because we encounter it in (almost) every track associated with her.

The opening bars of Lost Girl? Check.

Ferris wheel at the 0:19 mark? Check.

I say this complicates things a bit because, well...

It’s in Queen’s motif as well.

The Queen Connection?

The sequence appears right off the bat in the track named Queen, in the harpsichord melody.

Welly well well. This puts pressure on me because Queen’s motif appears in at least NINE tracks that I counted. You guys aren’t gonna make me do all that transcribing that’s essentially the same melody, right? No, sorry, I’ll just list the songs and the timecodes that the motif appears.

Smart Race: 0:01, 0:07

Cool Mixtape: 0:00

Elegant Entrance: 0:00, 0:19

The Secret Bosses Connection

If you’ll remember from my chapter 1 post, we discovered that Jevil’s theme(s) also contains Gaster’s motif. A lot. Upon hearing some of the tracks associated with Spamton, however, I find myself coming to the conclusion that this is instead a motif dedicated to secret bosses. At the 0:54 mark in Big Shot, it’s pretty undeniable that this is the same melody used in The World Revolving.

Dialtone also bears resemblance to the bridge section of The World Revolving, and once again utilizes Gaster’s motif.

(Please bear in mind that the keyboard in Dialtone is detuned roughly a quarter step)

Knowing this now, we may be able to assume that every future secret boss will use this theme, which also strangely uses Gaster’s motif. Won’t be able to confirm this until the next release, however.

Lastly, the City

As the city of Cyber World looms in the distance, we’re greeted with an upbeat track named “A Cyber’s World?” But did you hear anything in the melody at the 0:32 mark? 

The melody returns in Welcome to the City at the 0:12 mark.

And Just a Small Bonus

I thought this was kinda cool, but not really mega noteworthy. The sound effect that plays when you enter the castle town each time? It’s called snd_him_quick. What’s cool is it’s the same chord heard in the choir part of Another Him.

They are simply chordioids made up of root, minor 6th, octave.

Interesting. Very interesting.

Conclusions

Gaster’s motif can be part of OTHER CHARACTER’S motifs. A Queen and Noelle connection could be very possible. There’s almost DEFINITELY a connection between the secret bosses and Gaster’s motif. Maybe a connection between Gaster and Cyber World? Who knows. And finally, the chord from Another Him could be something to look out for in future OSTs. Do with this information what you will.
