My favorite uses of the word to spin pertain to manipulations. You can spin a story to frame characters or people differently, you can spin pottery to change the shape of clay, a spin off is a rendition of an existing thing, an adaptation. For how much control spinning has over both the shape and functions of our lives, we can spin things too. We can manipulate concepts and things around us with the same force that brings life into space and provides matter to the universe. Us, as humans, have the power to utilize the same tools of the universe to also shape our world, a little bit a time. While we are powerless to so many forces, we can still project our will-- put our spin on the world around us.
