Oh god. Let me try my best here.

I will say, on my main, @isa-ghost, I've reblogged a ton of liveblogging stuff that kind of gives you context in detail? But in reverse order because, yknow, that's how reblog chronology works or whatever.

This don't stop the party edit is a good tldr of the beginning of it all but you gotta pause to really read it so I'm gonna summarize via bullet points too.

XQC (shitty Canadian Kick streamer, misogynist and flaunts his money at every turn) met Trump, wearing a Trump shirt. Is a fanboy of his clearly. Is not the first streamer to do this, esp on Kick

Tommy quote rts his pic of him meeting Trump like "its hard to be more cringe than TommyInnit but you did it"

XQC clapped back saying Tommy went from dickriding Dr*m to making jokes to 17 year old girls irl (which is sexist to say but I digress)

Dr*m gets involved for some fuckign reason (he wants attention that's why) and makes a meme calling all dsmp stans (he later claims he meant inniters specifically) the r slur

Shit BLOWS UP obviously because he called 15 million people a slur in a derogatory way. Makes SO MANY excuses that don't work ofc. Later deletes all his tweets abt it, but prior to doing so he TRIPLED DOWN ON USING THE R SLUR. Tried to excuse it with "I'm autistic" (which personally idk if I believe bc he's such a fucking liar but I also don't follow Dr*m obv so if he posted abt the diagnosis then. Whatever. Anyway)

Tommy, Tubbo, Jack, Sneeg, and so so so many other CCs now have been ripping him apart for the last 48 hours. Tubbo has dissected everything he's said on Twitter and a Reddit post he made yesterday

Last night at like midnight to 3am his time, Dr*m goes live and dissects Tubbo's vod of him dissecting Dr*m's shit and Dr*m GENUINELY CRASHES OUT for 3 FUCKING HOURS, most of which was him projecting on Tommy hardcore and lying and manipulating AS USUAL. If you care enough, I'd watch Tubbo's vod. OR you can probably find a summary somewhere but it's. A lot.

Tubbo went live at 10am CST today dissecting Dr*m's crashout, which lasted FOUR FUCKING HOURS. He was meant to talk to Dr*m directly on stream today but then--

Tommy posted a 5 min vid clapping back very concisely so Dr*m is in the process of making a response vid, therefore he canceled his chat with Tubbo.

Quackity tweeted he would be going live because during Dr*m's crashout he name dropped SEVERAL ex-dsmp members and other people such as Ludwig, a6d, the girl GNF assaulted, Gumball's VA. The list goes on. However, idk for sure if Quackity is gonna talk abt this, all he tweeted was "going live later" basically.

47 MCYT CCs were tuned in to Tubbo's dissection stream today at one point or another. I haven't seen MCYT this united since we all ousted W*lbur for abusing Shelby Shubble (you said you haven't been around since the dsmp finale so idk how much abt that you know. It happened in late Feb last year)

“Dandy, there you are!” you call out, rushing to the familiar flower and his equally familiar shop. “I missed you so much.”

“I’ve missed you too! How cruel of time to keep us apart for so long.” Dandy sighs dramatically, resting his cheek in the palm of his hand. The frown on his face vanishes quickly, replaced by his signature grin. “But we’re together now, and I have some amazing items just for you!”

Your eyes scan the selection: gumballs, a can of soda, and a chocolate bar. It’s a typical spread from him, but that doesn’t bother you. The items don’t matter as much as getting to see him again. Without much hesitation, you make your choice.

“I’ll take everything.”

“Oh wowie, you really are my best customer! Tapes first, items second!” Dandy exclaims, holding out his hands expectantly.

You dump a pile of tapes into his hands. He quickly counts them, his smile somehow growing even wider. “Perfect payment, as always. At this rate, you’re going to clear out my entire stock, haha!”

You gather your items in your arms, carefully balancing them. “That means I’d get to see you more often, right?”

“Mmm, maybe!”

“In that case, I might as well buy everything now so we can spend even more time together.”

As the words leave your lips, Dandy’s petals flutter, and his pale face flushes a deep red. You notice how his posture stiffens with surprise.

“Haha, you’d want to be with me all the time?”

“If you’d let me.”

“Oh jeez, buddy, you’re making this flower pretty flustered.”

“Is that a bad thing? Or do you like feeling this way?”

Dandy hesitates, his nervous smile giving way to twitching fingers. “It’s… unusual, but I wouldn’t mind feeling it more often. If it’s because of you.”

“Looks like we’ll have to spend more time together, then.”

“Yes, it seems so.”

You smile triumphantly, wandering around his shop before leaning your head against the steel doors that enclose his small cubicle-like space. “Would you let me stay here with you for a while?”

There’s a long pause before he finally responds. “Feel free.”

What you don’t see, from where you’re resting, is the victorious smile spreading across Dandy’s face. You’ve claimed his heart, and now, he’s claimed yours.

Rewatching Gumball is knowing that while there is no actual real overarching plot the episodes are still so amazingly interconnected.

I love how they do foreshadowing, how they build on little moments that we see through out other episodes. It's Banana joe's mom's future paintings being a small joke in "The Shell". Rob being in the deleted place with all the forgotten things in "The Void" after we see that Gumball and Darwin have a hard time remembering him and then completely forget him once Darwin kicks him into the sewers a whole season earlier in "The Pony". He then literally still has parts of the void ingrained in his design when he comes back. It's the fact that Penny and her family being hollow shells with something inside was being played as haunting jokes for episodes before the one based entirely around it. It's the fact that characters like Sarah have always been a little fourth wall breaky and so an episode like "The Fan Fiction" is so completely in line with her character that it's unremarkable in context, hell there's an episode where she sings the ending song to end the show and avoid an awkward conversation her being able to take some control of the show feels like the natural evolution of that.

The background characters in gumball have such distinct personalities that have been pretty consistent and built upon since season 2 which is completely insane and unprecedented for an episodic 2010 children's cartoon. The show might not have had an arc but it has always been continuous.

You do really get the sense that this is a world where everyone is very hyper-aware of the rules in which they operate. The show might reset at the end of the episode but the people don't

So instead of sending an ask clearing up misinformation on these tags bc that would be pointless and serve to only make people upset, instead I am going to illustrate to all of you how short, quippy, and wrong statements completely control the conversation. Any attempt to clear up misinfo is going to take twice as long and be a lot less clipable (tbc this person isn't doing this intentionally doing this (at least to my knowledge) but it goes to show how pervasive these quick and wrong statements are). Watch:

"dream gave gumball's va alcohol" completely wrong, dream and gumball here both went to a birthday party of a mutual friend and met 20 minutes prior to the interaction in the Uber. There's nothing to show that Dream even brought alcohol to the event, let alone saught out a 20 year old to give it to him.

"VA is underage" technically correct in the specific context of America's legal drinking age, but so misleading it feels intentional. For most people underage means below 18, a minor, and not a 20 year old adult making the decsion to drink a year before it's legal. Any reasonable person is going to assume 17 or younger here.

"VA had a bipolar swing" There's nothing to suggest this besides people decided it. You can't diagnose a manic episode from a 4 minute clip and the majority of you are not capable of diagnosing anytime at all. No one has confirmed this, not even gold statue Michaelangelo (who by the way has deleted every tweet involving the situation). But even in the scenario where he is manic in those clips, being manic is not a free pass to verbal harass minimum wage workers and be freely antisemitic, ablest, and homophobic. But I digress.

"and called Dream a faggot" yeah that parts true

Even more additional context that is relevant is Dream was physically assaulted by Gumball's VA. Gumball's VA directly asked if Dream was Jewish after saying Dream would never get rid of his money, called the Uber driver the r slur and said the Uber driver had down syndrome. He then threatened to kill or paralyze Dream.

See how long that took? Almost 400 words to counter 4 lines. And I'm giving the original commentor the benefit of the doubt here and assuming they're just repeating what they heard but you see how that's dangerous? You see how this method of controlling interactions keeps the flow on the side of the person who is factually wrong?

And I didn't even get into how this is a tactic of the alt right, how it serves to normalize using faggot as a weapon, how it actively desensitizes people to bigotry if the person on the receiving end "deserves it". Or how harmful instantly trying to make the assaulter in this situation the victim, or using mental illness as an excuse to assault and threaten to kill people is also bad! Because even though that is all true and absolutely necessary in this conversation, I can't get into it! Because it would take even longer and "I ain't reading all that" is the most annoying, damaging phrase on twitter right now.

I've never watched an episode of The Amazing World of Gumball so everything I've learned about the show has come from the occasional "out of context" youtube compilation videos and I must say the kookiest thing I've noticed (besides the large amount of hyper-violent slapstick directed at minors seriously how do these kids not die) is that a majority of the characters have the most banal, normalest names.

dream did call robbos friend a whore, dream says the person he called a whore was someone he was good friends with. so yes he did, but it was ALSO his friend and it was entirely jokingly. dream reiterates that he was not ever slapped for it. tubbo is like “do you see the narrative” and dream says yes, but there is a lack of context. dream says that the pair of robbo and gumballs va were just “throwing things at the wall until they stuck” meaning those two were just making shit up until a bad lie on dream stuck.

dream is grabbing proof of messages with ludwig and everything exchanged between those two. tubbo is not showing on stream for privacy mentions. tubbo mentions that dream only

mentions women when using them to make hyperbole points, says he shows no evidence when talking about hannah and aimsey. (DREAM SAYS NO HE DID NOT 😭😭😭😭 SOMEONE OLEASE OH MY GOD)

dude you have to admit your crashout was fucking hilarious, dream cmon ofc there are millions of likes on tiktoks it’s funny af. dream says his crashout was a joke on himself, and that’s all. dream thought for a period of time that aimsey was actually going around lying about him. he does not still think this. tubbo is telling him that saying all this shit in a crashout is NOT it, saying that that is not something you should do when you have used these phrasings legitimately in the past. dream explains why he did that, and why his little “acting moment” makes sense in a way to poke fun of him. and that all is chill. (reader, all is not chill)

tubbo is like “do you see why this is actually weird to do? when you’ve said things like this before? and also hannah what” and tubbo is like there is no context to bring up aimsey or hannah, no need. dream says that he shouldn’t have mentioned hannah by name, and that it wasn’t a slight on her. he is just ransoming shit in his crashout to explain that having calls with dream provides clairvoyance and clarification (or something? i really don’t see what he’s saying here, honestly.)

dream says he feels terrible for what he said about aimsey! tubbo points out that aimsey uses they/them, bc can we not just use she/her for the lad?

tubbo says dreams lack of context for women when he talks about them adds to people saying he’s sexist. dream again asks tubbo if he thinks he is sexist, tubbo says he doesn’t know him at all outside of him online. he then brings up how he sees dream talk with or about women online, and how he only uses his “word” to prove against them. he isn’t outright saying it, but it’s obvious hes like "you only feel like you have to use your word against women bc your word is stronger than theirs." dream asks what tubbo means.

tubbo asks if it was responsible for him to have these moments when he constantly gets misunderstood online. dream says that people generally need more understanding of satire and sarcasm. says again he is making fun of himself, that it is his fault though. tubbo says it’s irresponsible to do that bc what dream says gets taken out of context so regularly. dream agrees that it is his fault and he shouldn’t have done that.

tubbo answers, that he doesn’t know dream as a person, but from how he acts as online he says that him and his friends need an attitude adjustment to how they interact with women. dream asks for context, tubbo references a bunch of things. and says that’s how he’s come to that conclusion. says he doesn’t think dream is an “unredeemable sexist pig.” dream says that all of tubbos context is unspecific. he explains the ludwig thing and says it is unspecifc.
