Yes absolutely !! I'm still so afraid of talking about any serious experiences I've had as a black person on here, I just don't wanna be alienated anymore than I already am both IRL and online 😭🤚🏾 it's just the little things that make you feel estranged, like if I use a lot of AAVE in a post it never gets as much interaction as it would if I just talked "properly".

Like I'm already stepping so far out of my comfort zone just making my blackness known, and like.. kinda a central part of my blog !! I just really hope other POC/BIPOC take a little comfort in it maybe U⁠^⁠ｪ⁠^⁠U

a lot of you probably knows Belphie's story, but I'll summarize just in case.

Devon Rex cats are better for people with allergies (less shed fur + less Fel d1 protein in their saliva), so on February 16, 2024, I went the breeder route and put down a deposit. before Belphie even opened his eyes, he was mine!

every Friday, the breeder sent me a new photo. I had a broken leg, and was basically rotting in bed at that point, so it was the best part of my week. then, at 12 weeks old, I BROUGHT HIM HOME!

at first, he was so alive! like a wind-up monkey that never shut off. he dangled from the wall-hangings, savaged my feet as I walked, and used my elderly cats as jumping poles to do cool acrobatics over. but all this gradually faded.

first, he stopped playing. then he stopped climbing. then he stopped moving much at all. my vet ran tests on him and found multiple pathogens (calcivrius + mycoplasma), but the medication didn't help - he kept declining.

on September 17th, I woke up to find him swollen like a balloon. we finally had an answer: he had Feline infectious Peritonitis, aka FIP. before 2017, this would've been a death sentence. he would've kept bloating until he drowned in his own fluids. and before 2024, I would've been forced to inject him with black market drugs. but thankfully, South Tower Animal Hospital in Fergus, Ontario was doing a study on the oral medication! we drove two hours, enrolled him, and left with the GS-441524 pills.

and he went from those photos above.....to this:

I thought Belphie would die as a kitten. I'd accepted that he would never grow up. but now he gets to LIVE!

and all for the low cost of $7,553.....ahhhahaha........god.

that + a recent home disaster has wiped out my savings, but I still need to pay for Belphie's medication. to remain in this study, I need to do bloodwork monthly until Feb 2025, and he'll need daily pills until March 2025.

WIP I've been working on for a while but don't think I'm ever going to quite finish:

GI(G)GS phasmo, but none of them are quite as normal as they seem (and they all think they're the only weird guy).

Impulse and Skizz are a demon/angel duo who help each other out when one of them can't human correctly (both of them like humanity a little too much to do their real jobs correctly).

Grian watches. He also Watches. He doesn't have control issues, really.

Scar is a Vex/Fae who could've gone into law like Cub, but instead uses his talent for wiggling out of contracts preventing the ghouls and demons from following them home.

Gem is a time traveller and the real reason none of them have died yet (Yes she's absolutely fine, witnessing her friends die again and again has not impacted her mental stability at all what are you talking about SHUT UP)

would the premise of the movie planes be possible in real life can you actually use an air tractor at-400 as a stunt plane or would you fucking die

I've never actually seen the movie, but most planes are probably more capable than you'd think of performing aerobatics (though not necessarily legal). There's even an aerobatic version of the Cessna 152, and test pilot Tex Johnson once famously did a roll in a Boeing 707 prototype!

The type of flying that crop dusters do is already pretty close to aerobatics with the sharp turns they have to do to make successive parallel passes over a field, and with the Air Tractor's beefy airframe I imagine they can pull some serious gs when lightly loaded.

One other consideration though is that most planes that aren't specifically designed for aerobatics can't handle negative gs (including flying upside-down) for more than a few seconds without causing serious fuel flow issues (either too much fuel or too little) that would stop the engine. Oil flow can be affected as well and possibly damage the engine.
