Checked on the carrots and thinned one to see how far along they are. They've got a while yet.😅🤣

Looks like a cosmic purple. What I can tell you is that

since it was already planted when we had some frosts

come through it was already very sweet, even as small

as it is.

I was hoping by may I'd be eating carrots but looks

more like august 💀

Hibiscus coccineus is a total "power" plant. Hard to miss, even in a jungle garden. Lots of green and then BAM! this might seems like common sense to some, but i know not all have thought about it . . with so many folk at home using bottled water, i'd bet that you're throwing them away or putting in a recycle bin . . i wont spend time on this post going into relying on recycling is the solution, nor will i go into sharing how not every town and community recyles AND i wont spend time talking about why some people use bottled water and not filters . . it happens . . and if youre one using them consider using them to plant in (using soil or for #waterpropagation) . . when people order from me, i usually slide in a rooted living plant and a short video on one way to reuse the container i send it in . . this isnt that video, but one i made yesterday when planting some seeds . . NOTE: this is JUST ONE way. but there are many others. Beautiful + Exotic Pride of Barbados 🌿 Swipe to see how I grow them from seed + + I collected the seeds from my p.o.b. last Summer, and there was an abundance of seed pods. I collected a whole envelope full + + The pods grow straight out of the center of the flower and will turn brown and hard when they are ready to harvest + + Simply bust open the pod and collect the seeds. They look like little corn kernels to me + + When I'm ready to germinate the seeds, i scratch the surface with a nail file or sand paper and soak them in warm water for 24hrs. (This isn't necessary, but it helps and all my seeds sprouted) + + Then I put the soaked seeds in a wet coffee filter and then inside a baggie. I don't seal the bag, just close it, but leave the top open for oxygen + + I leave the baggie outside in my covered patio or in a bright window and wait to see the first sign of life + + I started my seeds on Sept 10 and within 3 or 4 days, they were already sprouting.
