The #jackfruit tree in #lalbaghbotanicalgarden, quite promising :) The fruit of #ArtocarpusHeterophyllus is the largest tree-borne fruit. It can weigh as much as 35kg (80lb), and be 90 cm in length and 50 cm in diameter. LOTS of deliciousness. This particular tree in the photo is in its land of (believed) origin, #India. According to WikiP it was cultivated in india as early as 3000 to 6000 years ago. But you can find the fruit in other southeastern asia countries as well and in other tropical countries of Africa, the Americas, and the Caribbean (in some places like Brazil, it's seen as an #invasivespecies). The fresh #fruit flesh is very tasty, "comparable to a combination of apple, pineapple, mango, and banana" (WP). it can also be cooked in various ways (including the seeds).
