average United States contains 1000s of pet tigers in backyards" factoid actualy [sic] just statistical error. average person has 0 tigers on property. Activist Georg, who lives the U.S. Capitol & makes up over 10,000 each day, has purposefully been spreading disinformation adn [sic] should not have been counted
I have a big mad today, folks. It's a really frustrating one, because years worth of work has been validated... but the reason for that fucking sucks.
For almost a decade, I've been trying to fact-check the claim that there "are 10,000 to 20,000 pet tigers/big cats in backyards in the United States." I talked to zoo, sanctuary, and private cat people; I looked at legislation, regulation, attack/death/escape incident rates; I read everything I could get my hands on. None of it made sense. None of it lined up. I couldn't find data supporting anything like the population of pet cats being alleged to exist. Some of you might remember the series I published on those findings from 2018 or so under the hashtag #CrouchingTigerHiddenData. I've continued to work on it in the six years since, including publishing a peer reviewed study that counted all the non-pet big cats in the US (because even though they're regulated, apparently nobody bothered to keep track of those either).
I spent years of my life obsessing over that statistic because it was being used to push for new federal legislation that, while well intentioned, contained language that would, and has, created real problems for ethical facilities that have big cats. I wrote a comprehensive - 35 page! - analysis of the issues with the then-current version of the Big Cat Public Safety Act in 2020. When the bill was first introduced to Congress in 2013, a lot of groups promoted it by fear mongering: there's so many pet tigers! they could be hidden around every corner! they could escape and attack you! they could come out of nowhere and eat your children!! Tiger King exposed the masses to the idea of "thousands of abused backyard big cats": as a result the messaging around the bill shifted to being welfare-focused, and the law passed in 2022.
The Big Cat Public Safety Act created a registry, and anyone who owned a private cat and wanted to keep it had to join. If they did, they could keep the animal until it passed, as long as they followed certain strictures (no getting more, no public contact, etc). Don’t register and get caught? Cat is seized and major punishment for you. Registering is therefore highly incentivized. That registry closed in June of 2023, and you can now get that registration data via a Freedom of Information Act request.
Guess how many pet big cats were registered in the whole country?
97.
Not tens of thousands. Not thousands. Not even triple digits. 97.
And that isn't even the right number! Ten USDA licensed facilities registered erroneously. That accounts for 55 of 97 animals. Which leaves us with 42 pet big cats, of all species, in the entire country.
Now, I know that not everyone may have registered. There's probably someone living deep in the woods somewhere with their illegal pet cougar, and there's been at least one random person in Texas arrested for trying to sell a cub since the law passed. But - and here's the big thing - even if there are ten times as many hidden cats than people who registered them - that's nowhere near ten thousand animals. Obviously, I had some questions.
Guess what? Turns out, this is because it was never real. That huge number never had data behind it, wasn't likely to be accurate, and the advocacy groups using that statistic to fearmonger and drive their agenda knew it... and didn't see a problem with that.
Allow me to introduce you to an article published last week.
This article is good. (Full disclose, I'm quoted in it). It's comprehensive and fairly written, and they did their due diligence reporting and fact-checking the piece. They talked to a lot of people on all sides of the story.
But thing that really gets me?
Multiple representatives from major advocacy organizations who worked on the Big Cat Publix Safety Act told the reporter that they knew the statistics they were quoting weren't real. And that they don't care. The end justifies the means, the good guys won over the bad guys, that's just how lobbying works after all. They're so blase about it, it makes my stomach hurt. Let me pull some excerpts from the quotes.
"Whatever the true number, nearly everyone in the debate acknowledges a disparity between the actual census and the figures cited by lawmakers. “The 20,000 number is not real,” said Bill Nimmo, founder of Tigers in America. (...) For his part, Nimmo at Tigers in America sees the exaggerated figure as part of the political process. Prior to the passage of the bill, he said, businesses that exhibited and bred big cats juiced the numbers, too. (...) “I’m not justifying the hyperbolic 20,000,” Nimmo said. “In the world of comparing hyperbole, the good guys won this one.”
"Michelle Sinnott, director and counsel for captive animal law enforcement at the PETA Foundation, emphasized that the law accomplished what it was set out to do. (...) Specific numbers are not what really matter, she said: “Whether there’s one big cat in a private home or whether there’s 10,000 big cats in a private home, the underlying problem of industry is still there.”"
I have no problem with a law ending the private ownership of big cats, and with ending cub petting practices. What I do have a problem with is that these organizations purposefully spread disinformation for years in order to push for it. By their own admission, they repeatedly and intentionally promoted false statistics within Congress. For a decade.
No wonder it never made sense. No wonder no matter where I looked, I couldn't figure out how any of these groups got those numbers, why there was never any data to back any of the claims up, why everything I learned seemed to actively contradict it. It was never real. These people decided the truth didn't matter. They knew they had no proof, couldn't verify their shocking numbers... and they decided that was fine, if it achieved the end they wanted.
So members of the public - probably like you, reading this - and legislators who care about big cats and want to see legislation exist to protect them? They got played, got fed false information through a TV show designed to tug at heartstrings, and it got a law through Congress that's causing real problems for ethical captive big cat management. The 20,000 pet cat number was too sexy - too much of a crisis - for anyone to want to look past it and check that the language of the law wouldn't mess things up up for good zoos and sanctuaries. Whoops! At least the "bad guys" lost, right? (The problems are covered somewhat in the article linked, and I'll go into more details in a future post. You can also read my analysis from 2020, linked up top.)
Now, I know. Something something something facts don't matter this much in our post-truth era, stop caring so much, that's just how politics work, etc. I’m sorry, but no. Absolutely not.
Laws that will impact the welfare of living animals must be crafted carefully, thoughtfully, and precisely in order to ensure they achieve their goals without accidental negative impacts. We have a duty of care to ensure that. And in this case, the law also impacts reservoir populations for critically endangered species! We can't get those back if we mess them up. So maybe, just maybe, if legislators hadn't been so focused on all those alleged pet cats, the bill could have been written narrowly and precisely.
But the minutiae of regulatory impacts aren't sexy, and tiger abuse and TV shows about terrible people are. We all got misled, and now we're here, and the animals in good facilities are already paying for it.
I don't have a conclusion. I'm just mad. The public deserves to know the truth about animal legislation they're voting for, and I hope we all call on our legislators in the future to be far more critical of the data they get fed.

June was working at the Goldie restaurant in Philadelphia on Sunday night when protesters started assembling outside the Israeli-American-owned eatery waving Palestinian flags.
"Goldie, Goldie, you can't hide, we charge you with genocide," they chanted.
The 24-year-old June, who asked to be identified by his first name only, told Middle East Eye that they watched the rally through the window of the restaurant which sells falafel, hummus and other Middle Eastern cuisine. June was shift-leading at the time.
"I remember thinking it was a big crowd, given it had been raining," June said.
"No one inside was bothered. I didn't feel unsafe. There were orthodox Jews taking part in the protest. We even had a customer come into the business," June, who is also Jewish, added.
After a few minutes, the protesters left.
When June went home after the shift, they found social media alight with accusations that the crowd had targeted the restaurant because it was a Jewish establishment.
But June says they knew that this wasn't a case of antisemitism.
"The protesters had assembled outside Goldie because the restaurant owner had sent money to an aid organisation that supported the Israeli military. They had come because two employees at Goldie were fired for expressing support for Palestine," June told MEE.
Outraged by the feverish pace with which the false narrative of a marauding mob intimidating a business on account of their Jewishness was being amplified on the internet and the news media, June posted on social media in support of the protesters.
"If you don't want to be directly funding genocide, stay away from Goldie, Kfar, Federal Donuts, Laser Wolf or Zahav. Goldie's parent company CookNSolo held a fundraiser where sales from all their restaurants went to an org [sic] that gives supplies to the IDF [Israeli military]," June wrote.
On the way to work the next morning, June received a call from the restaurant. They were told that they were no longer needed and they was fired with immediate effect.
That made June the third person at Goldie to be fired on account of their pro-Palestinian advocacy since 7 October when Israel's war on Palestine began.
Since late Sunday, the US media, prominent Jewish Americans, Philadelphia's mayor, several lawmakers, and even the White House have issued statements condemning the protests outside the restaurant.
"This is idiotic and dangerous. Protest outside the Israeli consulate or the offices of your member of Congress, not Jewish or Israeli-owned restaurants," prominent Jewish-American writer Peter Beinart wrote.
Likewise, Andrew Bates, a White House spokesperson, described the incident as "antisemitic and completely unjustifiable to target restaurants that serve Israeli food over disagreements with Israeli policy".
On Tuesday, US Vice President Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, called Michael Solomonov, the owner of the restaurant group, to express support for his business.
But former employees at Goldie as well as pro-Palestine advocates who either organised or participated in the protest say the outrage was manufactured to distract from both the crimes of the Israeli state and those who have chosen to support it.
"While Goldie was not the goal of our protest, we briefly paused and led chants [outside the restaurant] because the owner, Michael Solomonov, has used proceeds from the restaurant to fund an organisation that works directly with the Israeli Occupational forces," Natalie Abulhawa, a spokesperson from the Philly Palestine Coalition, said.
Abulhalwa said that the group spent only a few minutes outside the restaurant and moved on to other stops before continuing the rally.
"We also stopped at Starbucks for the same reason and then continued to march. Our march was roughly three hours long and we stopped at Goldie's for four minutes, at most," Abulhalwa added.
June, who was at the business at the time, confirmed to MEE that the protesters were only around for a few minutes.
Sophie Hamilton, who worked at Goldie for more than two years, including as a store manager, confirmed to MEE that Solomonov had held a fundraiser in mid-October, where $100,000 was raised for United Hatzalah, an Israeli emergency aid organisation based in Jerusalem.
She said Goldie, part of the CooknSolo company, was not some small-time "mom-and-pop" business, but a sprawling company whose owner was appointed by the Israeli tourism ministry as its culinary ambassador for Israel in 2017. Solomonov is an Israeli chef who owns four restaurants in the Philadelphia area under the CookNSolo banner.
According to a statement released by the Israeli authorities at the time, the role was designed "to champion Israel’s extraordinarily diverse and vibrant culinary landscape".
Hamilton said the company had mischaracterised United Hatzalah to staff as "non-partisan, non-military aligned, like the Red Cross", when a cursory internet search showed that not only did the charity openly collaborate with the Israeli military, they also spoke like an arm of the Israeli state.
"The influx of terrorists infiltrating Israeli territory and the resulting high number of injured individuals also prompted United Hatzalah to provide additional medical supplies and protective equipment to IDF teams on the ground," a statement issued in late October by United Hatzalah, reads.
"Since the beginning of the war, United Hatzalah medical teams have treated over 3,000 soldiers and civilians and provided more than 900 soldiers, civilians, and volunteers with psychological first aid. The organization also delivered over 30 tons of medical supplies and humanitarian aid to the IDF and residents of southern Israel," the statement added.
Hamilton said when she had discovered the information, she refused to take part in the fundraiser because she didn't want to be complicit in the genocide of Palestinians.
However, when she returned to work after the fundraiser, she said she still wanted to show solidarity with Palestinians and decided to wear a pin bearing the Palestinian flag on her shirt.
A few days later, the company came out with a new policy that banned any pin or patch unrelated to the store on their uniforms.
"I wore the pin anyway in defiance of the policy and I was sent home that day," Hamilton says.
When she returned to work, she decided she needed the job and abided by the policy. But when one of her colleagues, Noah Wood, refused to take off his pin, and she wouldn't discipline him as his manager, she was fired. And so was he.
"I would never, as a manager censor someone I work with for showing their heartfelt belief in human rights," Hamilton said.
Wood, who had already resigned from his job on account of the suppression of Palestinian advocacy at the restaurant, was serving his notice period at the time when he was told to stay home.
He told MEE that it appears a customer complaint may have led to his dismissal.
"We've had LGBTQ flags up in the store. They might still be up. And one of the other locations had Black Lives Matter signage, so it wasn't as if it was an entirely politically neutral work environment," Wood said.
"You must remember Sophie and I didn't say anything. We didn't argue with customers. We weren't posting online. We were just wearing Palestine patches and pins and this seemed to make a customer uncomfortable, and this was enough for termination," he added.
Goldie and its parent company, CookNSolo, did not immediately reply to MEE's request for comment.
Activists say they remain appalled by the smear campaigns pitted against Palestinians on a daily basis. The rush to defend a business working with the Israeli army under the mask of an antisemitic attack was in line with the higher echelons of the American state to equate criticism of Israel with antisemitism, they say.
With the devastation in Gaza spiralling and the death toll ever increasing - now upwards of 16,000 Palestinians - organisers say the rapid resort to smear those who dare to raise the plight of Palestinians was the surest sign that officials had run out of excuses to justify the support of Israel.
Activists say the flurry of support for the Israeli-owned business also showed the close ties between the US political establishment and Israel-aligned businesses.
"The hypocrisy of our elected officials is despicable. Within a couple hours of our protest, Pennsylvania's Governor Josh Shapiro and others ran to Twitter to accuse us of antisemitism with absolutely no context and no facts," Abulhalwa, with the Philly Palestine Coalition, said.
"No one from their offices reached out to us to 'investigate'," Abulhalwa added.
Organisers said US politicians were constantly attempting to portray pro-Palestinian protesters as unhinged or violent when it was the US state that was supporting genocide in Gaza and it was Palestinians in the US who have either been killed or physically attacked.
In its report about the call made by Emhoff, the US vice president's husband, to Solomonov, the owner of Goldie, NBC News reported that the duo spoke about "how food was actually supposed to bring people together rather than be a source of division"
Likewise, Pennsylvania's Governor Shapiro, who was among the first to condemn the protests outside Goldie, baked bread with its owner, Solomonov, as recently as September.
"Being an Israeli ambassador is a big part of Solomonov's brand," Leila, a Jewish-American who took part in the protest outside Goldie on Sunday, said.
Leila, who offered only her first name to MEE, said the suggestion that any part of the action outside the restaurant may have been construed as antisemitic was simply absurd.
June, the former employee at Goldie, who had watched the protest from inside the store itself, said the charge of antisemitism was divorced from reality.
"They didn't come to the restaurant simply because it was Jewish-owned. If that was the case, they would've gone to hundreds of restaurants across the city," June said.
Likewise, Abuhalwa said the smears against Palestinians were once more exposing a double standard toward Palestinian life.
"Palestinian protesters being held at gunpoint by a racist, Islamophobe is a hate crime. Palestinians being shot for wearing keffiyehs is a hate crime. A grown man stabbing a little boy for being Muslim is a hate crime. Using your First Amendment rights and peacefully protesting is not a hate crime.
"They accused us of targeting Goldie because it's Jewish-owned, which is far from the truth. Solomonov is not being targeted due to his religious beliefs, but rather his ties to a violent apartheid state that is currently enacting a genocide," Abuhalwa added.
Meanwhile, June, the 24-year-old who lost his job at Goldie for supporting the protesters, says he has no regrets.
"If I could educate more people on how this company feels about Palestinians being killed, I'd gladly do it in a heartbeat," June said.
"I will always advocate and support anyone who advocates for a ceasefire and an end to the occupation of Palestine," they added.
#palestine#bds#lmao#the way people are fully defending corporations#but anyways im sharing this so you know who else to add to your bds list if you need

What if divorced!art gets dragged to a club one weekend by his foundation-buddies and he obviously doesn’t want to but he forces himself and then it turns out that escort!reader is also there with her friends and they see each other outside of «work» for the first time… And her friends doesn’t know about her escorting so maybe they recognize him and maybe she goes to talk to him because her friends says she should «flirt more»🤭 And then ofc he fucks her in the dirty club bathroom
divorced!art upset because he hasn't seen you in weeks. everything has been busy since he hit the ground running with tennis again. practice after practice, signing sponsorship deals, galas and charity fundraising. and you had been busy too. art didn't know this, but you're a student as well. you didn't tell him not because you didn't want to share your life with him, but because it made you feel juvenile. of course, it's university and you're almost finished with your degree after five and a half years instead of the usual four--but you still feel dumb talking about that part of your life with him. for you to bitch about group projects and essays about political science while art is upset about custody battles and petty divorce politics--it feels trivial.
but your friends want to celebrate the semester being freshly over. just a few more summer classes for you and you will finally graduate. you'll finally get to hang up your hat and say goodbye to escorting. to that taboo little secret that's been dragging your eyes into sunken purple holes for the past fourteen months.
and your friends don't know, of course. it's impossible to explain to a group of girls whose parents pay for tuition and books and groceries. gas, clothes and even the designer heels they wear to the club they're standing in right now--that you need to do this. for money. to survive.
no, it isn't ideal. but this is the real fucking world and sex sells.
so they think you're prudish. they've never seen you have a boyfriend or flirt because that's your job every other day of the week. to pretend to be in love. to fuck lonely assholes and pretend to care about their lives. to believe them when they say they aren't a bad husband. that men have needs.
they urge you to flirt with men at the bar. but like always, you're just not interested. and all the men in this shitty tavern-bar-turned-college-club are all the same. middle-aged men who shoved their wedding bands in their back pockets to pick up pussy from a doe-eyed girl in her twenties.
none of them are remotely attractive. and you're thanking your lucky stars that you don't recognize a single one of them.
your friend taps on your shoulder. "there's one hot guy here. you may recognize him. he's kinda famous."
you down the rest of your drink. "oh really? i doubt i'd be interested."
but she points to a man leaning against the bar way off in the corner. sad eyes and salt and pepper hair that was once dirty blond; you've seen his baby pictures. he's tall and in love with you and you with him and you could strangle him right now because he hasn't returned your calls or texts in over five days.
"art donaldson." your other friend sighs. "he's a tennis player and i'd fuck him if i didnt have a boyfriend."
it's then that art turns around. likely feels the eyes of six girls burning into the back of his skull. he's holding a beer bottle and he looks forlorn, his typical woe is me demeanor that makes him so fucking attractive to you. lights up that neanderthal part of your brain that makes you want to fix the unfixable.
and then he smiles. it makes you blush and your friends, not knowing the tendrils of your history together that have now become rooted in the ground beneath you, tell you to go for it.
"he's staring right at you."
you know that. art knows not to make it clear he knows you; it would open up that whole can of worms.
so he waits for you to come to him and you pretend to be nervous which isn't that hard because you are already.
when you get to him, he whispers in your ear.
"they don't know about your job, im assuming?" he wants to wrap his arms around your waist but he refrains.
"they don't. but they know you, and they're very fond of you. they want me to flirt more."
art flags down the bartender. he gets you a gin and tonic, remembering how you liked the one he made for you that first night at his hotel room. you were just trying to make him feel better.
"well im glad im the lucky man." he sits down on a stool and hooks his leg around the stool next to him to bring it closer. he motions for you to sit and your friends are all staring at you but pretending they aren't.
"me too. although i don't know how much you deserve it." you take a sip. "given how you haven't responded to my calls in awhile."
art takes your drink from your hand, sets it down. he rests his hand on your lower back.
"im sorry honey. i haven't been meaning to be an asshole. there's a lot going on with tennis and everything."
you run a hand through his hair. "i get it." you feign a frown. "you just may have to make it up to me." and when you uncross your legs, art can see your thong. he tenses his jaw.
"i do need to make it up to you, don't i?" he takes a swig from his beer. "i'll tell you what." he glances around, at the bathroom door swinging open. "why don't i go to the bathroom to freshen up and you come check on me in a few minutes, yeah?"
he's so close you can smell the beer on his breath. you nod and he goes toward the bathroom.
your friends want to come over and ask you all about it, but then you're knocking on the bathroom door with your special knock. the one that only you and art know.
he pulls you inside, and the bathroom is dingy with a flickering light and graffiti on the walls. drawings of dicks and crude words but art sits on the toilet seat.
"c'mere." he reaches out to you and you go to him. a pavlovian response that makes you so fucking wet to be near him. to be on his lap like you're supposed to be. he kisses you like he missed you because he has. he's not supposed to. his lips trail wet, hot kisses up your throat and he's greedier than usual. dragging your pussy over his throbbing erection. he's only wearing his briefs on his bottom half and you tug at his shirt because you want to see all of him. feel all of him. he does the same to you. panting into your mouth because his cock rests between your folds. nudges against your clit as you grind on him.
"fuckin' ruined pussy for me." he throws his head back and you grab his jaw to kiss him. sloppy and disgusting but you love the taste of him. how your lipstick melds into his saliva. drips down his neck like you're a vampire taking him for everything he fucking has.
"yeah?" you rake your nails down his chest and take his cock out. it's bare against your pussy, your panties pushed to the side.
"nothing turns me on anymore. nothing gets me off. only you. that tight fucking cunt."
he never talks like this. so crude. but you love drawing it out of him. milking those dirty words as you stroke his heavy cock for him. people bang on the bathroom door but neither of you fucking care.
you sink down on him. you do it all at once. you're addicted to how his hips spasm and his eyes roll back and he lets a strangled moan-groan hybrid escape him. he holds onto the flesh of your ass as you fuck him.
the porcelain of the toilet creaks unsteady below you and you're completely on top of him, your feet behind you as you fuck him harder and harder. but he asks for more because he wants you more.
"fuck me--fuck me--" he repeats it over and over. guides you up and down and up and down his cock from base to tip. "your pussy was fucking made for me. i need it, i need it--"
his mouth hangs open and you can't believe he's yours like this. you want him to cum but then again you don't because then he can't be inside you anymore. and that's precisely where you want him.
his jaw is tense and his neck pulses with his heartbeat as he presses his forehead to yours.
"i want you--" a moan. "to hit me. i want you to fucking claim me."
so you smack him, and his arms wrap tight against your waist because he's cumming and he wants it to stay like this forever. but if it can only be a few more minutes, that will do too.

Scout's Honor - Eddie Munson x Reader
Collaboration with my dearest @munson-blurbs
An As You Wish story
Summary: The annual Father-Daughter Girl Scout Square Dance comes around but Eddie and Steve are saddled with some car trouble.
Note: Everyone needs to go thank Bug for this incredibly adorable idea!
Words: 2.1k
[As You Wish masterlist]
Men.
Can’t live with them, can’t…convince them not to go fishing on the day of their daughters’ Girl Scouts events.
Eddie and Steve had promised you and Nancy that they would be home in time to take Eliza and Mia to the annual square dance.
“We’ll get an early start,” they’d said, ignoring Eliza’s insistence that she won’t go with her father if he reeks of fish. He’d just laughed, kissed her cheek, and reiterated that he would shower before the dance.
Maybe you’re naive for believing him. And yet, when the phone rang and Eddie’s sheepish voice explains that Steve’s car broke down—codeword for ‘we ran out of gas’—you’re wholly unsurprised.
“I always made fun of Wayne for fishing.” Eddie muses, the payphone crackling as he exhales. “Called it an old man activity. This is what I get.”
You grit your teeth, hand clenched in a fist. “Just…get home,” you hiss, hanging up the receiver and massaging your temples.
Who could have ever foreseen such an outcome?
While you’re stewing over the men’s incompetence, Mia remains levelheaded—just like her mother—and proposes a solution. “What if Luke and Ryan take us?”
Her suggestion is almost certainly rooted in her crush on your younger son, but it proves to be a worthwhile idea, nonetheless. Eliza’s face lights up, and before you know it, your five-year-old is dragging her brothers from their room.
“Please?” She pouts sweetly, batting her doe eyes up at them. “Daddy and Uncle Steve can’t make it, and we can’t go all alone.” She lays it on thick, knowing full well she doesn’t have to—the boys would do just about anything for her.
Ryan and Luke raid Eddie’s dresser drawers for flannels, finding the ones that he had nabbed from Wayne’s trailer. The girls don cowgirl hats, excitedly giggling as they climb into the back of the minivan. It’s still strange for you to see Ryan behind the wheel, but your heart swells with pride as you watch him double-check Eliza’s booster seat before pulling out of the driveway.
At seventeen years old, Eddie Munson spent his Saturday nights selling cheap weed at high school parties—many of them, ironically, thrown by “King” Steve Harrington.
At seventeen years old, Ryan Munson is spending his Saturday night taking his little sister and her best friend to the Girl Scouts square dance.
“Everyone buckled?” He calls back, already knowing that they are. Still, he waits until he receives a chorus of yeses before he drives off.
Luke turns around from the passenger seat. “Now, do we have to make a perfect square?” He keeps a serious expression, much to Ryan’s amusement. “Like, what if it’s a bit oval-y? Do we get kicked out? Do you two get banished from the Girl Scouts?”
Eliza and Mia are both used to his nonsense, and they burst into a fit of giggles. Ryan cracks a smile of his own, eyes trained on the road.
Precious cargo and all that.
When they arrive at the old VFW hall, the girls immediately pull them over to their group of friends. It’s a sea of young girls and their dads—and some moms—but nary a big brother in sight except for the two Munson boys.
Ryan barely has time to feel out of place. The emcee, a middle-aged woman with bright pink lipstick and a too-wide smile, grabs the mic.
“Welcome to our Father-Daughter Square Dance!” The room erupts into applause, quieting down only to hear about how this fundraiser supports the Girl Scouts of Indiana. The scouts repeat their pledge, which is met with more cheers, and then a western tune bleats over the old sound system.
Eliza grabs Ryan’s hand as the emcee calls out instructions. Mia is a bit shyer with Luke, but they still manage all of the steps without stomping on the other’s toes.
“Liza, I’m sorry Dad couldn’t make it,” Ryan says between songs.
Eliza gives him a small smile. “That’s okay. It’s kinda cooler to bring my big brother.”
He grins. Just wait until his dad hears that.
As everyone is getting into position for the next dance, a new song comes on that has more banjo than Luke has ever heard in his life.
“Oh, yeah. We’re definitely in Indiana,” he says.
Mia chuckles as she peeks up at Luke from beneath the brim of her straw cowgirl hat. A blue ribbon on one of her red pigtail braids is loose so Luke reaches down to fix it for the little girl. Mia’s freckled face blooms as red as her hair. Luke pretends not to notice, not wanting to embarrass her. The big crush on Luke became obvious when she was three, and now at ten, it’s still hanging around. The fifteen-year-old Munson boy thinks it’s flattering and only ever teases her if she starts it first.
“Ready?” Luke asks, offering Mia his hand.
“Ready!”
“But I didn't realize any of this until I was standing alone. In a barn... wife-less. Now, you can imagine my disappointment when it suddenly dawned on me that the woman I love is about to be kicked out of the country. So, Margaret. Marry me. Because I'd like to date you.”
Both you and Nancy hold your wine glasses, neither moving a muscle as you watch Ryan Reynolds catch up to Sandra Bullock in a New York City office building. An empty pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream sits between you on the couch, two green-smudged silver spoons resting inside.
With the men out fishing, Ryan and Luke out with the two girls, and Natalie watching the rest of the kids over at the Harrington house, your place became the ultimate Mom’s Night In for you and Nancy. A chance to drink a little, gossip a little, have some snacks and watch some romcoms.
Your peace has finally come to an end, however, when the front door bursts open and two men who reek of murky water, bug spray, and gasoline come barging in.
“Jesus, Steve,” Nancy says, face pinching up at the foul odor wafting from your husbands.
You wave a hand in front of your face as if that will make the smell dissipate any faster.
“How were the fish?” you ask, turning your head away to give your nostrils a fighting chance.
“We caught a grand total of zero,” Steve says with a sigh, his black fishing boots looking comically misplaced on him. Neither of the men look natural in fishing gear. But when a guy from work offered Eddie the use of his boat for the day, he found he couldn’t turn it down.
“Did you bring the fishing poles?” Nancy asks, sarcasm lining the amusement on her face.
Both men give her an annoyed side eye before Eddie looks around and takes a step towards you.
“Where are the girls?” he asks.
“Ryan and Luke took them to the dance,” you tell him. “They should be back soon.”
Steve grimaces and claps a heavy hand down on Eddie’s shoulder.
“Eliza’s gonna kill you.”
Eddie raises his eyebrows and spins to meet his friend’s eye.
“And Mia won’t kill you?”
Steve grins. “Not if she got to dance with Luke.” This is the only time the man has ever been thankful for Mia’s crush on the Munson teen.
Front door still open from when the men barged in, Ryan, Luke, Eliza, and Mia walk inside, laughing and talking over one another. Ryan is giving Eliza a piggyback ride and Luke has Mia’s too-small cowgirl hat perched on top of his head. The moment Eliza’s wide brown eyes spot her father, she demands answers.
“Daddy, where were you?”
Ryan gently lets her down and she stomps over in her beige cowgirl boots, stopping right in front of Eddie.
“Liza, I’m so sorry,” Eddie pleads. “Our car broke down. We tried everything we could to get back in time—”
Tears build up in Eliza’s eyes and Eddie feels his heart constrict in his chest. It might as well be Eliza’s little fist squeezing it.
“You were s’post to go with me!”
Eddie sighs and runs a ringed, smelly hand over his face. “I know. And I promise I’ll go next time. But I’m glad you got to bring your brothers.
“Did you have fun at least?” Steve asks from behind him.
Mia nods emphatically and both you and Nancy have to bite your lips to keep from smiling.
Eliza nods in agreement, although not as enthusiastically as her friend. “Yeah. And Ryan is a good dancer.”
Luke smirks, and if Eddie were looking at him, he’d see the devious glint in his eye. “Not as good as Dad, I’m sure.”
Loud snickers come from you, Nancy, and Steve. Eddie’s jaw drops open as he looks around the room.
“I can dance!”
“Yeah, Dad?” Ryan asks.
“Yeah!”
“Lucky for you, we’re all right here to witness it,” Luke says with a shrug.
Eddie scoffs and shakes his head. “There’s no music. And I don’t really think my Metallica is easy to groove to.”
“We’ve got my Billy Joel—” you start.
“Or my *NSYNC!” Mia adds.
“No,” Eddie says. “Thank you girls, but no.”
Smirk only growing larger, Luke pats his father on the shoulder. “Lucky for you, we’ve got just what you need.”
Eddie raises an eyebrow as he watches his son take a CD out of a Target bag he was conveniently hiding behind his back.
“How was fishing, by the way?” Luke asks as he wrestles with the plastic engulfing the case.
“Pointless,” Steve says.
“Your uncle didn’t bring enough bait,” Eddie added. Steve is about to refute but Luke speaks before he gets the chance.
“But you would have, Dad? Does that make you a master baiter?”
Ryan is the only one who is unable to contain his laughter. The joke goes over the girls’ heads, but you give your son a soft glare anyway. Never mind that you found it hilarious, just as you know the other adults did as well, but sometimes you’ve got to be the parent.
Luke shrugs it off and pops the finally-freed CD into the stereo and the sound of a bow sawing over fiddle strings fills the room. Your second-oldest nods his head to Eliza.
“Go ahead, Lize. Show the old man how it’s done.”
“There’s not enough room to square dance in here,” Eddie says.
Without even so much as glancing at one another, you and Nancy get off of the couch and push it back, making plenty more space in the living room. The two of you smirk at one another and Nancy crosses her arms over her chest.
“Y’know, I don’t think it’s fair that you guys get to reap the benefits of your daughters being Girl Scouts without putting in the work.”
A grin grows on your face as you see where Nancy is going with this.
“Yeah,” you agree, “maybe you don’t need more Samoas this year.”
Eddie’s face falls, and he looks at Steve, who shrugs in defeat. Gotta hit the guys where it hurts: food.
“All right, show us the moves,” Steve says.
Mia grins, a bounce in her step as she takes Eliza’s smaller hand and walks to the middle of the floor. “Okay, me and Liza will be partners. Just watch us.”
Steve furrows his eyebrows and looks between the two girls, one with now-messy twin red braids, and the other with a light brown cowgirl hat atop two curly pigtails.
“Wait, if you two are dancing together, who are Eddie and I dancing with?” he asks.
Eliza giggles. “Each other.”
“Nope,” Eddie replies. “No way.”
With an over dramatic sigh, you shrug your shoulders at your husband. “No dancing, no Samoas.”
“Damn those little coconut fuckers,” Eddie mumbles under his breath. “All right, big boy. But I get to be the guy.”
“Sure, we’ll play pretend,” Steve quips back. It’ll be a miracle if they both make it through the first dance alive.
Eliza and Mia begin to go through the motions, showing their fathers what to do. Everyone is laughing as they do-si-do and hook arms to swing each other around.
“Did I earn my cookies yet?” Eddie asks once the next song ends.
“That’s up to your daughter,” you tell him with a shrug.
Eddie looks at Eliza expectantly, the big puppy dog eyes that he passed down to her working their magic.
“Almost, Daddy. You gotta dance with me first.”
“Now that, I can do.”

4 ways to help The Congo
1/ a powerful action is to donate to organization to support the victims, here are some links :

2/ by buying refurbished electronic devices, so the money goes to resellers instead of the brands that are enabling and perpetuating the horrible situation in the Congo
3/ by not buying a new phone or any electronic devices if it's still working. Let's be responsible consumer by using our device until it dies. Sell your devices and buy second hand if you really need or want a new one.
4/ by sharing fundraising, donation links in your social media, and by spreading awareness around you. Do not underestimate the power of shared links !
A reminder of the facts:
The Congo is an extremely rich territory in raw materials, the raw materials that make up our everyday electronic devices. Unfortunately, it does not benefit the Congolese people; on the contrary, the population is exploited, especially children, who are enslaved to extract these riches for the benefit of foreign brands and countries (Apple, BMW, Volkswagen/USA, China, France, Belgium…).
The corrupt Congolese Government is ALSO to blame for allowing it to happen. The population is exposed to conflicts of interest and armed groups that subject them to constant violence (murder, rape, kidnapping…). Such instabilities are intentionally created to exploit wealth at ridiculous prices (in fact, the price is paid in human losses and ruined lives...).
The genocide is not new; it began in the 90's and today there are more than 6 million dead (the entire population of Lebanon, for example). The victims are forced to flee to displacement camps, in inhuman living conditions.

Hello darling! I was hoping you’d write something I’ve had stuck in my head. Ethan Landry being completely in love/obsessed with the reader so much so that it started back in Woodsboro. Maybe Richie told Ethan his plan and he showed Ethan a picture of the friend group and he thought the reader was pretty. Richie told him that she has a boyfriend but he’d take care of it. And maybe the readers boyfriend wasn’t the best so she didn’t really mind him dying so when she meets Ethan and he’s so nice, it’s as if everything happens for a reason. If you decide to write this, that would be amazing! ❤️❤️
—𓆩[mine - sleep token]𓆪—
𓆩[main masterlist]𓆪 𓆩[request/ask me something!]𓆪 𓆩[song that inspired it (mine by sleep token)]𓆪
𓆩♡𓆪 CHARACTER - Ethan Landry x Fem! Reader
𓆩♡𓆪 TYPE - fluff, smut
𓆩♡𓆪 WORD COUNT - 2.8K
𓆩♡𓆪 SUMMARY - Ever since he saw that picture of you, he couldn’t stop fucking thinking about you. He’d find reasons to go where you were after he killed your boyfriend, your favorite coffee shop and bookstore or running into you at the store, he just… can’t get you out of his head, and it all comes together when a young girl trying to sell your school’s newspaper gets your attention.
𓆩♡𓆪 STORY WARNINGS - violence || foul language & cursing || obsessive! Ethan || timeskips sorry || you’re a journalist now || friends to lovers || loss of virginity (both) || unprotected sex || oral || fingering || marking kink || possessive talk || morning after pill talk ||
I have waited…
“S-So… who is she again?”
Richie was so fucking annoyed already. Ethan had been asking question after question about you, especially after he killed your boyfriend. “She’s some kid, dude! Oh my fucking god, you want the picture? Here, take the picture! Her name is Y/N L/N, she goes to the same fucking school those other ones go to, I killed her boyfriend, and now she’s single and ready to mingle!”
He pressed the picture into Ethan’s chest, mumbling in annoyance as he continued walking down the hall. Ethan looks down, his fingers stroking over the picture of your face cropped out of a group picture with Tara and Sam. Richie met you a while ago, while he was still dating Sam, but Ethan hadn’t had the chance - yet.
He quickly went to his room, pulling out his laptop and quickly going to search up your school. It wasn’t surprising you were friends with Sam and Tara, but as soon as he saw you on the main slideshow for the school with the title ‘Our school newspaper’s Editor-In-Chief got a full ride to Blackmore University on a Journalist Scholarship’. How the fuck did you become friends with Sam and Tara while being a journalist?
He clicked on the slideshow, a large picture of you and some other people showing up with links to issues and how to get a subscription and such to the newspaper. What caught his eye though was the Instagram link, quickly clicking it and logging in to actually open it, your face in many of the posts. He clicked on one of the posts, your voice matching you perfectly as you yell out, “Come get our latest issue!”
He inhaled sharply, the tight shirt you were wearing and ripped jeans made a shiver run down his back. He listened to it over and over again, the only thing registering in his mind being come, come, come.
It didn’t take him long to lay back, getting ready to get himself off to the sound of your voice before staring at the caption. ‘Come see us at our monthly fundraiser at the Coffee Bean this Saturday!’
Oh he was definitely going that day, but he was focused on other things right now.
That Saturday, of course he attended. It was pretty full, not overly but enough, and he quickly got a drink before sitting in the corner. He had brought a book he wasn’t going to read, the only reason it was with him was because he was using it to hide his eyes whenever you looked anywhere in his vicinity. You were handing out copies, giggling and smiling with everyone you saw, and by fucks name he couldn’t stop staring at you.
“Hey!” A voice made him jump, looking over at a young girl who offered him a magazine. “You’re in high school, right? My cousin is the chief editor of this thing or whatever, you should read it and buy something!”
“Charlie!” A voice yelled, both of them looking back as you ran over. “That’s rude, you can’t do that!”
“Why not? He’s just sitting there pretending to read a book!” The young girl supposedly named Charlie says, flapping around the magazine as you shake your head.
“Charlie, go drink your frappe!” You take the copy of the magazine as she groans. “Go!”
“Oh! Her boyfriend was just murdered, you should buy it!” Charlie tries to play the guilt card, a smile on her face as you quickly push her away.
“Go!”
“I’m trying to get you sales, Y/N! Oh, hey, do you want a magazine?!” She runs after a bystander making Ethan laugh, a groan falling from your lips in embarrassment.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” you whispered, pressing your face into your hands as he laughed even harder. “I’m so, so sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Ethan smiled at you before offering his hand. “I’m Ethan.”
“I’m Y/N,” you giggled, taking his hand and shaking firmly. “It’s nice to meet you.”
“So… your boyfriend was murdered or was it like… a tactic?” He asked with a smile, knowing full well he was dead.
“Oh no, he’s dead,” you say, eyes widening. “Sorry, I should sound more concerned! I’m not, though, he was an asshole. Do you go to Woodsboro-”
“No,” Ethan says quickly, shaking his head. It could’ve been a lie, you certainly wouldn’t have known that. “I just came to support a pretty girl.” He holds up his coffee, smiling at you.
Normally, he wouldn’t have done that not one bit of him would’ve done that because he’s a fucking pussy, but holding your hand made him confident. You paused as he stared at your face, your eyes flickering down at your hands as you smiled. “Oh yeah? That pretty girl here?”
“She’s real close too,” Ethan smiled widely at you, leaning down to maintain eye contact. “Real close.”
“What did you say your name was again?” You look up at him, biting your lip. “Hm?”
His face turned a bright red as he started to pull his hand away before your fingers moved around him. “Ethan. Ethan Landry.”
Your smile grew. “Well then Ethan Landry,” you tilt your head. “Can I get you another one of those drinks?”
Ethan smiled. “Why don’t I get you a drink instead?”
I know you can see… that you will be mine.
You and Ethan both got into Blackmore University, and while he roomed with Chad, you got your own apartment. You both hadn’t started dating just yet, but he was so close, so so close. He wanted to make you his before the murders started, so that he could… comfort you during the murders. Protect you with everything he had, he was so, so close.
“Y/N, can I talk to you?” Ethan whispered, tugging on your hand while the movie played loudly on the screen, the middle of a sex scene making his stomach twist and his dick hard.
“Hm? Oh yeah!” You paused it, smiling over at him as you raised a brow. “What’s up, E?”
He inhaled shakily, shrugging as he pulled you closer to him. You sighed, hugging him tightly as you laid against his chest. “You know I love you, right?”
You nodded, humming as you looked up at him. “I know, Ethan. I swear… you came at the most perfect, perfect time. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I didn’t meet you.”
“Well, we will never have to find out, right?” He smiled down at you, stroking your cheek. “We were made for each other, baby.”
You giggled. “Baby? That’s new.”
Ethan shrugged, leaning down. “You like it?”
You smile, reaching up to stroke his cheek. “I do.”
“Y/N, you… you came into my life at the most perfect time,” he smiled widely, stroking your face as you shifted to lay back. He moved to stay above you, leaning forward to tuck his face into your neck. “I don’t want you to leave… ever. I want to stay by your side forever.”
You gasped as his hands snake around your waist, pulling your body closer to his own as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders. “You promise? Promise to never leave me?”
You had gotten to the point where Ethan was next to you all the time, he was your support system - he couldn’t leave you. He promised you that, your fingers interlocked in a pinky promise whenever he got into Blackmore and followed you here. He couldn’t leave you, you both needed each other.
“I promise, baby, I promise.”
You looked up at him, moving your hands hooking behind the back of his neck as you pulled him down for a firm kiss. “Were you ever going to get to that part, or were you going to keep talking?”
He smiled, leaning down for another kiss. Your lips were soft and tasted like that cherry chapstick you always seemed to lose - even though he always took it from you - and you bought yourself another one the next time you went to a gas station that sold your favorite chapstick.
He always slipped it on whenever you weren’t looking, throwing it away whenever the layer you put your lips on disappeared.
The taste was addicting though, your taste and the cherry flavor he only subjected you to as he pushed his tongue into your mouth, trying to get as much of your taste in his own mouth. You gasped, back arching as his tongue pushed into the back of your throat, swirling around your own tongue and making mixed saliva gather at the back of your throat.
You choked softly making him pull back, lips shiny and swollen as you swallowed with a clearing of your throat. “St-Still need to breathe, honey.”
He laughs, his hands rubbing your sides. “Sorry. Got a little carried away, didn’t I?”
You nodded before sitting up, Ethan quickly followed as you started pulling at your shirt. He gasped when he saw your pretty bralette, black and lacy with chiffon underneath the only thin material covering your tits. “You did, but it’s okay. I want… I want you, but I’ve never done this before. Have you?”
He goes quiet, unable to answer as he stares at your tits and his hands twitching in anticipation to squeeze and grab at them. You giggled, leaning forward to instead cup his face while your other hand pulled at the hem of his plaid button down that you got him for his birthday one year.
It was easy to pull it off him, his body immediately at your mercy as you pushed him onto his back instead, hovering over his cock before sitting down on him. He groaned loudly, his cock pressing against his pelvis as you leaned forward, rolling your hips into his as his hands held your waist and pulled you closer. He groaned as you leaned down, kissing his lips softly. “Think that’s a no, right?”
He shook his head quickly, staring up at you. “N-No, I’ve never done this before.”
“Sex or seeing a woman naked?”
“I-I… does porn count?” He asked mindlessly, as though it wasn’t the stupidest question in the world, but you laughed as you leaned down with a firm kiss.
“Sure, baby, if you want it to.” You responded, bringing his hands up to your bra as you fixed yourself. “Do you want to take it off?”
He nodded immediately, smiling as you fixed your arms so his hands could slip behind your back and quickly unclasp your bra with a quick flex of his fingers. You giggled as it quickly slipped off, his hands going around the band to finish tugging it off of your body, sitting up to suck at your skin. You gasped as his mouth sucked against your skin, hot and slippery as his tongue dragged over before sucking and digging his teeth into your skin. You gasped as his hands pushed between the both of you, squeezing and cupping your tits as you pressed kisses to his head.
“This something you’ve seen in those pornos, baby? Hm? Playboy magazines?”
He shook his head, grabbing your hips and laying you back against the couch as he stared at your now hickey littered form. “No, honey. This is what I’ve thought about every night for the last year. Thinking about making you mine over and over again.”
You gasped as his hands tugged at your bottoms, slipping into the band of your underwear and pulling them down as you lifted your hips for him to take them off. He stared at the string of arousal that came from your cunt to your underwear, the floral cloth pattern being thrown to the side as he ducked down to press kisses against your thighs.
You gasped as his teeth grazed your skin, his tongue flattening against your cunt making you whine loudly. “Y-You’ve never done this before, right?”
He shakes his head. “No, but I’ll learn. You tell me what feels good.”
You inhaled deeply, nodding as he ran his fingers down your slit, experimenting. He leaned forward, licking down your cunt and letting his nose tap against the hood of your slit and his tongue curl around your clit and his finger push against your entrance. He hummed, watching as your entrance greedily opened up for him, sucking his fingers into you and clamping down almost immediately.
A gasp fell from your lips as he pushed it in knuckle deep, your walls clamping down on him as your thighs spread wider, your hands pushing down as you held the back of his head. He thrusted his finger in and out of you, twisting to push another finger in and curl them to push into that perfect spot. Your eyes rolled back, mouth falling open as he sucked on your clit, teeth nibbling on the bud before your nails dig into his scalp.
He could feel your walls clamping down on him, the sensitive ring of nerves tightening around the base of his knuckles, his eyes watching as spit gathered against the sensitive bud before spitting against your clit. It must’ve pushed you over the edge, a loud scream leaving your lips as your cunt convulsed around his fingers and your fingers tugged on his hair, thighs shaking as he pulled away from your clit to watch the spit fall down your cunt.
He stared as your pretty cunt convulsed when he pulled his fingers out, a whine leaving your lips as you buck your hips, your entrance fluttering as he sat back. He stared at you, your hazy eyes and your hickey littered form, everything that made you feel good was from him - everything was from him.
“Ethan, do we need a condom?” You whisper, staring up at him as he starts taking off his pants.
“Do you want me to get us one? It’ll take time baby, can you wait that long?” He knew you couldn’t wait that long, there was no way you could wait that long.
“P-Promise you’ll get me a pill?” You whisper, making him nod, smiling down at you as he pressed a firm kiss to your lips.
“I promise, baby.”
You gasped as his tip teased your entrance, whimpering as your arms wrapped around his neck and pulled him closer to you. “Fuck baby, it hurts. It hurts, it hurts!”
“Did I not stretch you out enough? Do you want me to stop, I can find lube? You have lube, right?” He was asking because he knew damn well that you had vibrators, so you had to have lube too.
“Y-Yeah, bottom drawer in my room, dresser.”
He couldn’t have run faster to your room, quickly digging into your drawer and grabbing the pink tube before running back out. Your fingers were pushed into your cunt, scissoring and thrusting inside of yourself with both hands as you whimpered. “Fucking hell, you never said you were thick and long.”
He laughed as you threw a leg over the couch, sitting in front of you before spitting into his hand and rubbing it up and down his shaft. “Still want the lube?”
“J-Just a bit,” you whisper, staring up at him. “Not too much.”
He quickly opens the lid, squirting some into his hand and the smell of cherries fill his nose. He laughed, smiling. “You’re just a cherry girl, aren’t you?”
You giggle, nodding. “Yeah.”
He spreads it onto his cock, keeping some on his fingers to push it into you. You gasped, whining as he pushed them in a few more times before pulling them out and pushing his tip to your cunt. Your eyes rolled back before snapping his hips forward, wiping them against your clothes on the floor before holding your thighs around his waist.
“Fuck baby, you’re so tight. So fucking tight, you’re perfect for me baby, so perfect. Like you were made for me, remember when you said that? Did you not say we were made for each other?”
You laughed, nodding. “Yes! Yes, I was made for you… and you were made for me. All for me.”

This is the stupidest smallest thing to get mad about and sorry for once again catholicposting but several years ago I bought a rosary off a group of palestinian nuns who came to my town selling religious articles et al to fundraise for their convent and on the back of the little info card that came with it it's noted that the crucifix contains soil from bethlehem and that it's made of olive wood (!!!) but carefully refers to the wood and the soil as being from the "holy land" in the most awkward way possible and I KNOW that it's because if they had said palestine it would have been considered inflammatory

Today is the day.
And you are nervous.
The competition isn't huge, but it means a lot to your team— it'll spread your name across groups, towns. Increase the likelihood of others wanting to join, wanting to invite, wanting to collaborate. Place yourselves in a higher place than last year. You all heard about the competition through Yeonjun, who picked up a flyer near the grocery store. It's a competition during the town's winter festival, something he felt like would be a good opportunity either way. There are three winners; each winner wins a certain amount of money awarded to help fund their group's events, competitions and fundraisers. On top of that, the competition was to be broadcasted on a livestream in order to encourage support from anywhere and everywhere.
There were designated drivers within the group, transporting members in different cars while all of you chipped in for gas. You had left bright and early in the morning in order to settle at the hotel before practicing and enjoying bits of the festival.
It's been a whirlwind.
Even though you're nervous, it's a beautiful day and you're happy to be here with your friends, your team. It'll be a good day.
It'll all turn out perfectly fine.
"Hey, are you guys good to go? We're ready to practice near the parking lot." You swing the door open to Hyunjin peeking into your room, eyeing everyone grabbing their things.
"Yeah, we'll be out in a sec." You smile at him, signaling for your roommates to head out the door.
Your group finds a secluded part of the hotel parking lot, taking this space to clean up and fine tune every single part of the piece. Every single beat, every single move— you, Yeonjun and Hyunjin precisely monitoring each member to correct any small mistakes and flaws. This goes on for about an hour, another hour spent to run the piece a few times until satisfaction. It's close to 2 hours before your team reaches this point, now allowing some time to walk around the festival before you're called to the stage to get ready for the competition.
Jongho points at a few vendors that are selling snacks, a few of you grabbing something small to eat— nothing too heavy before the performance. You and your friends snap a few pictures with your snacks in hand, sending one to Yunho as a way to let him know that the day has been good so far.
you: me! with friends!
yunho: very cute. ☺️ let me know how everything goes. i'm rooting for you!
You smile at your phone just as Hyunjin calls for your group and motions for them to come towards the stage. There are a good amount of other groups present, but no one is hostile in any way, or overly competitive. It's all good vibes and it makes it much, much easier to get through the competition in one piece.
The MC comes onto the stage to start the competition portion of the festival, greeting the large crowd that has flocked to the area. He greets the panelists sitting near the front stage; a few of them being choreographers you are familiar with and have taken workshops with before. He lists all the groups in attendance, with your team being second to last to perform.
You watch all the groups dance before you in awe, wondering how they move so gracefully, how they've pieced together everything so well. You always feel like you learn something new watching other dance groups, and you always feel so grateful to have the opportunities to learn from each other. Everyone is hyped up and bouncing along to the songs, having a good time being around people who love doing the same thing you do.
When it's time for your group to finally head up and perform, your nerves return. You stand in your position, eyeing the crowd that has grown tremendously with the other groups cheering off to the side. Your nerves switch to adrenaline quick when the music starts to play, getting into dance mode like everything depended on it.
You love doing what you do.
You love dance.
You love being here with your friends and showing off your talents.
You wish Yunho was here.
But, little did you know that he caught the livestream as soon as he got back home from bringing his mom to her appointment— smiling in awe every time he saw you in view. Today, you seem much happier and you have a glow to you. Yunho is happy that you're happy and enjoying yourself. He really wishes he could be there in person so he could hug you and congratulate you as soon as you step off the stage, but this will do.
He hopes you know that he does think of you, too.
You give it your all during the last few seconds, hitting the ending pose until the music cuts out. All of you cheer and hug for getting through another performance without any issues or injuries. As you step to the side to gather yourselves and take a breather, the final group heads on stage to close out. You all agreed that whatever happens today, you would leave happy and grateful for the opportunity to travel here and perform.
They give the judges 15 minutes to decide their top three, and that might've been the longest 15 minutes you've ever endured in your life. While you all wait around, a few people from other groups introduce themselves to you and invite you to the club to hangout afterwards. Your friends agree it'd be a good way to close out the weekend trip, especially with the club not being too far from the hotel. At this point, the MC comes back on stage to announce the top 3 for tonight's competition. You aren't expecting anything, and you've drilled it in your head that winning didn't necessarily mean much— though, it would be nice.
It wouldn't take away from your passion and love for it.
"Second place goes to—" The MC pauses. "Common Ground!" Your team reacts with a bunch of yells and smiles as you make your way back up to the stage to take a photo with your trophy. You and Chaery hug each other off stage, squealing in excitement before hugging Soobin and Seungmin.
"Congrats, ya'll!" Yeonjun yells. "Time to celebrate!" He yells, making everyone erupt in more cheers on the way back to the hotel. A few of your friends head out to pick up some pizza for the group, while the rest of you shower and start getting ready for the club. Thankfully, Chaery forced you to bring a cute outfit just in case any celebrations were in store. You throw on a simple black, sleeveless short bodycon dress with your converse highs and leather jacket. You take another picture to send to Yunho, one that makes him ogle a bit at how beautiful you look.
you: going out soon 😬 gonna celebrate!
yunho: as you should, pretty girl. 😍 you look amazing.
You giggle just as Yeonjun calls for everyone to come to his room and start pre-gaming, all of you squishing around his room to pass along the shots.
"Let's fucking go!" Yeonjun yells. "Cheers!" He points his shot up in the air, giving everyone a moment to tap their cups against each other before downing the alcohol. The pre-gaming picks up quickly and one shot, turns to two, turns to three or five—
You are drunk, and you miss Yunho.
"Babe, let's go!" Chaery yells for you, slightly dragging you by the arm as the rest of your group walks out of the hotel. She loops her arm with yours, holding onto you tightly as you all [loudly] walk across the street to the club where the party is taking place.
"I'm going!" You pout, letting her keep you close.
"You're drunk, why aren't you as happy and giddy?! Where is my girl!" Chaery asks loudly, making you protest a bit in her arms. "What is it?!"
"Stop yelling at me." You look at her. "I'm fine! I just—" You pause and drop her arm from yours. "Nevermind."
"What is it?" It's her turn to whine, looping her arm with yours again so you guys can keep up with the group.
"I kinda miss him."
"Who?" She glares at you. "Y/N, who? You better not be talking about Park Seonghwa."
"No. Not him." She furrows her brows.
"Then, who—" She gasps loudly and hits Soobin behind her, causing him to yell an 'ouch' in return. "Oh my god! Jeong Yunho?!" She yells his name for the entire town to hear.
"Stop, be quiet! What's wrong with you!" She squeals. Speaking of Yunho— though Yunho loves to be home to help his mom and aunt, he only spends a night to make his way back early just so he can see you as soon as you get back. He has the whole thing set up in his head, and he hopes he can pull it off. It's really nothing big, but he does want to surprise you [in a way] and see you smile.
That's all he wants.
"Where is he right now? Let's call him!" Chaery grabs your phone from your hand, instantly pulling up Yunho's number.
"He's at home, Chaery! Don't bother him—" Chaery screams when she hears Yunho answer on the other line with a deep 'hello,' making you smile from ear to ear even as you wrestle with her to get your phone back. "Chaery!"
"Yunho, you answered!" She looks at you. "He answered! He was waiting for your call, I think!"
"Give me the phone! I said don't bother him!" Yunho laughs as he continues to drive, hearing the commotion between you and Chaery [plus the background noise] echo in his car's bluetooth. "Yunho?"
"Hey. You okay?"
"Mm, yeah. I am just drunk." You emphasize the word, leaning your head on Chaery's shoulder as you continue to wait in line. "We are drunk. Sorry, Chaery called you."
"I see." Yunho laughs. "So, you weren't the one who wanted to call me?"
"I-I mean, yes, I did! But, Chaery physically hit your number because—" You pause, unsure if you should tell him you miss him. "Because she just did. Anyway. I'm here now!" Yunho bites on his bottom lip.
"I'm glad you are. Did you have fun today?"
"So much fun! I wish you came!"
"I know, I'm sorry. I'll make up for it, okay?"
"Okay, fine. I'll hold you to it." You giggle. "We won 2nd place! We get $250 to fund future group projects, events, fundraisers.. all that good stuff!"
"Congrats, Y/N! I knew your team would make it to top 3. I've been telling you." He smiles even though you can't see him. "You know, I caught the livestream."
"Y-you did?" You look at Chaery with those eyes, making her guess what the entire conversation is about.
"I did. You guys really did amazing. You deserve it."
♣︎ FLASHBACK
Yunho rushes back into the house, constantly checking his phone and hoping he isn't late to the livestream. He plops onto the couch next to his aunt, reaching over to grab the remote from the coffee table.
"I'm watching the news!"
"Really quickly. Please?" He pouts a bit. She lets out a sigh and nods, giving Yunho the green light to bring up the Youtube app. He types in the channel, pulling up the livestream that has already started. He quietly curses to himself when he sees a group already dancing on stage— praying to the powers above that he hadn't missed your group yet.
He will do anything, just as long as they give him this one thing. He suddenly regrets ever checking out girls, for ever having crude, boy-ish thoughts. He's apologizing to the universe so hard he doesn't even realize how still and quiet he's being—
"Wow, you're really serious about this dance stuff. I've never seen you so focused." His aunt says, pulling him out of his thoughts.
"I'm waiting for my friend and her dance group to come on stage. If they haven't already."
"Her?" Is the one thing his mom pulls out of the entire sentence. He looks over at her and lets out a small sigh.
"Yes."
"Is this the same her?"
"If it is?" His aunt laughs.
"I'm just asking, Jeong Yunho."
"Sorry." He says with a slight whine, eyes lighting up when he catches familiar faces coming on stage. His eyes are scanning the entire group until they finally land on you. Yunho subtly nibbles onto his bottom lip to prevent himself from smiling too big, ears feeling hot and red. You're incredibly cute, and he's suddenly missing you. But even if he tries to hide it, it's obvious to his mom and aunt. They won't question it even though they thoroughly enjoy seeing Yunho crushing on someone this hard.
His eyes continue to stay glued on the tv, a small smile and 'woah's' slipping from his lips every now and then. Once the performance comes to an end, he gives off a tiny clap before exiting the app and getting up from the couch.
"I think I know which one she is." His mom says, making Yunho respond as he heads back up the stairs to his old room to start packing and gathering his things.
"No, you don't." He teases.
"You can tell, huh? He's in love. He's definitely in love." His aunt adds, making his mom giggle.
♣︎ END
"You are.. too good to me." You sigh contently. "Seriously, how?"
"I'm just telling you the truth."
"Well, thank you. I appreciate that." You respond sweetly.
"Of course."
"Wait. A-are you at home? Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I told Chaery not to—"
"I'm actually heading to the apartment now. I'm just stopping for food first." He focuses on the lot ahead, pulling into a parking spot by his go-to restaurant near the apartment complex.
"Why'd you go home so early?"
"Because you're coming back early tomorrow." You feel the heat rise to your cheeks.
"You c-could've stayed—" You hiccup. "Woops. You could've stayed." You repeat to get your point across.
"It's alright. I just wanna make sure you get back in one piece."
"You're the best. Really, Yunho. Youuuu're the best." You slur a bit, making him silently chuckle to himself as he switches the call back to his phone. He steps out of the car and heads into the restaurant, giving the lady at the front a quick smile of acknowledgment.
"Nonsense." She points at his to-go bag and he gives her a thumbs up, handing over his card. "Why don't you go enjoy yourself?"
"Because I wanted to talk to you about stuffs. Do you want me to go?"
"It's not that. I just want you to have fun with your friends while you're there. Celebrate your wins and all."
"But, we're in line waiting to get into the club. I can talk to you about stuff—" Suddenly, Chaery grabs your hand and drags the phone to her ear— not giving you time to respond or fight back.
"S-She—" Chaery hiccups. "She likes you, Jeong Yunho! That's what it is! God, she is so cute when it comes to you—"
"Hey!" You respond with a slight whine. "Stop. I wanna tell him." Your voice is louder on the other line. "Yunho?" You call for him again and Yunho melts. God, you are too adorable.
"Yeah?"
"Did you hear her?"
"Sure did."
"No." You pout. "No, act like you didn't hear it, okay?"
"You sure?"
"Yes. Let me say it."
"Go for it, Y/N." He laughs a bit, signing his receipt before handing it over. He hears you clear your throat on the other line before you reply with a:
"I think I like you."
"You think? That's a shame, because I actually do like you." Yunho teases. He hears you whine again and it's awfully cute— he wishes he could be there, but he knows he'll see you as soon as you get back.
The things he could do to you right now. Like hold your hand, kiss you. It makes him feel giddy inside. You make him feel giddy inside.
"N-no, no!" You hiccup. "I like you! I like you!" You repeat drunkenly.
"I'm just teasing, Y/N. It's okay."
"No seriously, I like you."
"I like you, too."
"I mean it." He can almost see the pout on your face. "I know I'm kinda drunk or whatever, but I mean this."
"I know." He smiles to himself. "I know you mean it. I mean it, too."
"Yeah?" You ask in relief, followed by a giggle. "Yay! I'm so relieved."
"Good. Have fun tonight, okay? And please be safe."
"I will. I wish you were here."
"I'm there in spirit."
"I will t-text you—" Yunho slightly pulls the phone away from his ear when he hears a bunch of ruckus and chaos. "Seungmin, oh my god! Wait! The line is moving too fast, wait— I'll call you or text you later, okay? They're literally dragging me through the door."
"Okay." He laughs when he hears Seungmin respond in the back with an 'am not.' "Be safe please."
"I will!" You loudly giggle before abruptly ending the call. Yunho looks at his phone before doing a slight head tilt, truly hoping you'll get to and from the event safely and in one piece.
"Must be so cute to be all over somebody's sloppy seconds." Yunho cocks a brow up as he diverts his attention to Seonghwa and San, who stand a couple of steps away from him. They seems to be heading into the same restaurant that Yunho just picked up his food from, clenching his jaw as Seonghwa proceeds to walk closer.
"Right." Yunho lets out a small scoff. "Have a good night—"
"It's kinda funny. I didn't think she'd actually go for you." Seonghwa cuts him off and continues to try and taunt him. Yunho continues to clench his jaw, laying his eyes on him one last time before trying to brush past him. "Aw, that's incredibly rude of you to walk past someone who's talking to you."
"Hwa." San calls him lowly, hinting for him to let it go. Not the time, nor place.
"No, you're right." Yunho steps forward. "I'm just not sure what you want me to say, Seonghwa. Sorry you can't recognize a good thing when you have it?" The smug smirk on Seonghwa's face dies, and he's back to glaring at Yunho.
"I wouldn't talk on shit you don't know about."
"You sure I don't know anything about it? Because last time I checked, she was in my car when you left her in the cold." Yunho maintains eye contact with him, even as San steps in and pushes Seonghwa towards the restaurant.
"Let's go." San taps his chest and continues to edge him towards the door, nodding when Seonghwa finally lets up and licks his lips.
"She'll be back anyway." Seonghwa mutters as he turns around and heads into the restaurant with San. Yunho rolls his eyes and heads to his car— shaking off the entire interaction so it wouldn't spoil his night.
I mean, why in the fuck would he let Park Seonghwa, out of all people, spoil his night? If anything, Yunho couldn't care less that he's triggered.
He should be, rightfully so.
Let's get back to the point.
You told Yunho you liked him, and he can't help but smile to himself repeating how cute you sounded on the phone. Drunk, yes; but Yunho knows you wouldn't feed him bullshit [sober or not].
He wants you to enjoy yourself tonight and have fun. He knows you've been working hard at school, during practice. You deserve it, you deserve all of it. He misses you, and can't wait to see you tomorrow. Even if that meant a quick walk around the complex before you settled down for the day.
"Yo. You're back." Yeosang says coming out of his room just as Yunho walks through the door.
"Whattup?" Yunho smiles, tossing his bag and keyto the side. "Got some food from HK. Want some?"
"Mm, yeah. Might take a bit in a few." Yunho nods. "Why are you so smiley?" Yeosang asks, making him laugh a bit.
"Maybe I'm just happy to have food?" Yeosang smirks and crosses his arms.
"You saw Y/N, huh?"
"She's at her competition."
"Oh shit, that's right. Why didn't you go?"
"Had to be home to bring my mom to her appointment, so I wouldn't have made it in time." Yeosang nods. "I did hear from her and catch a bit of the livestream, though. They won second place. They're out celebrating right now so she's pretty drunk."
"Nice! At least her friends are there with her." Yunho nods. "Also kinda cute how she drunk called you, I'm assuming?"
"Yeah." Yunho chuckles. "She's cute."
"I'm saying, dude. You two would look really good together."
"Speaking of that, I ran into Park Seonghwa earlier while picking up the food."
"Oh, great. How was that?"
"He was just trying to get smart with me, but it's whatever."
"Aye man, his loss." Yeosang shrugs before taking a plate from the cabinet. "Have you decided if you're going to the party?" Yunho shakes his head.
"Not yet."
"Why not?"
"Parties are just.. not really my thing."
"I'll even go for a bit. I kinda want you to go and let loose, especially if Y/N is planning to be there."
"You don't have to do that." Yunho grabs his helping of food and pushes the containers towards Yeosang.
"No, seriously. I'll go. I haven't gone to a party in a minute, anyway. Might be kinda nice just to get out."
"Mm, yeah. Mingi keeps asking me about it, too." He does a slight head tilt. "He'll probably keep asking me until the day of."
"Option is there." Yeosang shrugs as he grabs his own helpings and starts to trek back to his room. "Anyway, thanks for the food! Think about it. Could be fun for one night." He gives Yunho another look before retreating back to his room.
Truthfully, Yunho has been contemplating about the party. He wants to go because he knows you'll be there, but he really can't stand them. He hates being in a stuffy room full of incredibly trashed people who know no boundaries.
But, this could be more time with you outside of school and he'll take what he can get.
So, maybe. Just maybe. Yunho will find himself at a party, trying to enjoy himself.
You.
And he's hoping Seonghwa doesn't become another fucking issue if he ends up going.
Though tonight, Seonghwa is the least bit worried about that party. He knows he'll be there, and it'll be the same thing— all the pretty girls trying to flock him and get his attention. He can't say he hates it because he doesn't. He can't think about all this right now because he hates what this has become, what you and Yunho have become.
And he's determined to be selfish, to get you back. He needs you to know just how much he misses you, needs you.
"Bro, what the hell was that about?" Seonghwa snaps out of his thoughts while San pays at the front, grabbing the plastic bag from the lady while thanking her.
"He just fucking irritates me."
"You never cared about Yunho before."
"Yeah, well."
"Yeah, well?" San furrows his brows at him as they walk out of the restaurant. "All this for Y/N and why? You made it clear you weren't gonna take it further with her."
"Things change."
"Things change genuinely, or because she's getting close to Yunho now?" No response. "Maybe you should let it go."
"What makes you think she's actually gonna take this further with him? He has nothing going for himself."
"I mean, she seems happy with him, Hwa. I'm not gonna lie." San shrugs.
"She's probably only feeling him because he wanted to be all knight in shining armor when she needed it the most. It's definitely not gonna last." Seonghwa shakes his head and gets into the car, slamming the door. "Whatever. I'm gonna get her back." San sighs, starting up the car without responding to the remark.

I love Ao3 donation season because it truly brings out the most unhinged people.
Suddenly, these people whose blogs revolved only around fandom and memes turn into the most vocal activists, the most involved protesters. There's not a single cause they don't root for, there's not a GoFundMe they don't advertise.
Oh, you think you can donate 10 dollars to a site that provides you with hours of free entertainment and doesn't ask you to sell your soul through data mining? Well, then you should kill yourself and go to hell, because look at these *insert request of money from someone you've never heard of before, isn't part of your online social group, and you share nothing with* causes need it more!!!
I'm far more likely to donate to my mutuals/people I follow/causes I care about than random people (especially when the request comes from Tumblr users, the same breed that gave us people pretending to have AIDS and of being attacked in a mall bathroom for shipping the wrong ship).
But how dare we enjoy life when JonBenet Ramsey's killer is still on the loose, am I right?
--
Yuuup.
And half the time, the gofundmes they link to are dodgy as fuck. I don't reblog e-begging almost ever. I barely post about organizations fundraising, aside from OTW and maybe the Internet Archive once in a blue moon. Very occasionally, I'll find someone's "I'm a disabled, trans POC" post compelling enough that I'll donate myself, but I'm still not posting it here.
Mostly, I don't post such things because if I did, I'd never stop getting pestered to post more. But a lot of it is that many, many, many of them smell of bad money management of the "Oopsie, I spent all my money going to a con and buying merch! Now rent is due!" or "I adopted 57 disabled pets I don't have the means to care for!" (Yes, I have known many fans of both types. And all of them needed to beg again a month later.) I don't doubt that something is wrong in their life, but I just don't think it's money well spent. I'd rather donate to an organization or, on rare occasions, somebody I'm pretty sure is telling the truth about being from a poor-ass country where my few bucks might actually make an impact. That's not the majority of posts that I see.

original callout post is by @menheratic !! if you want more info, please ask them. i am merely reuploading the original callout post of ezaki. please do check out the link of the jp community calling him out in 2019 ^^ https://togetter.com/li/1327770
! The following post talks about the various bad things that Menhera-chan's creator, Ezaki Bisuko, has done.
Here a japanese summary of all the shit he did so far, including but not limited to:
• registering Yamikawaii as trademark
• sending his fans after gyaru YouTuber Usatani to harass her into a suicide attempt over unknowingly buying a shirt with stolen PPG fanart he drew
• himself buying products with stolen art, even promoting their sales, because it’s totally ok when he does it
• the reason why Usatan’s original design was changed aka it was a ripoff of Cult Party’s iconic rabbit mascot that was designed by their artist Maromika-chan
• wrote a whole guide on how to legally get away with sex work as child
• proof of him tracing art for the more detailed MCH artworks
• how he attended the Menhera Exhibit only to smear misogynist bullshit with blood on maxipads
• complaining about how anime for little girls are evil feminist agenda TM because ain’t nobody need men to be saved anymore
• boasting about being a fashion designer only selecting the finest fabrics for his merch when it’s actually made by the japanese equivalent of Redbubble
• “parody” works featuring child characters like Chibi Maruko-chan prostituting themself, the message being all women are whores regardless of age for the right amount of money
• the small “terms and conditions” shield he has at his con booths where you agree that you need to buy anything you touch
• how he setup an earthquake victim fundraiser only to keep the money
• telling his english fans they are not allowed to use any of his art for private use, like as icon, unless they pay him
• how he wants to move to the US when he turns 30 because of all the evil haters TM in Japan
• copyright claiming everyone left and right
• japanese Menhera speaking out about he keeps hurting the community
In regards of the maxi pads:
TW, CW // nooses, misogynistic text in red on maxipads
Our favorite being the second row second one, “Abortion is murder”.
Some more recent event: When he started harassing and hating on disabled people after Tokyo Fashion translated a Tweet of his because being disabled is discriminating yourself.
It’s like a trainwreck that refuses to end, now with 100% more crypto on NFT while shitting on those who warn about the dangers.
His NFT sales can be found here: https://foundation.app/@bisuko_ezaki
For some reason, after 7 years, he also decided to re-release the infamous wrist-cut bracelet to sell at events. The leader of the Neo-Decora group bought one for example:
TW // Bracelet that imitates sh, includes blood
Also keeps doing collabs with “Tokyo Uragawa” under Yamiko so Seigi (Mental illness is justice), which focuses on self-harming girls as fetish objects.
TW, CW // drawn sh
Recently, he also wrote a long-article on his definition of Yamikawaii:
https://harajuku-pop.com/67775/
Still not sure where overseas people got “this is about mental health awareness” from, might be based on mistranslations because the word for mental health and illness is one in the same, and his definition is about glorifying mental illness. In fact, this is why he was banned from Tumblr because he kept posting other people’s self-harm photos to his aesthetic blog Menherabusu.
Next up: Made suicide baiting posts over his following decreasing in the hopes of getting attention, fans sent him photos of cute animals to cheer him up, and he decided to post about destroying the pictures.
Tbh, this list could go on forever as he does this kind of bs on an almost daily basis now, but apparently people don’t care enough to stop throwing money at him.
Meanwhile the Japanese community made a whole Wiki for tracking all of his drama considering how much it is by now.

TW // mention of shotacon
Decided to nickname himself Shotabi, the name being a combination of Shotacon and Bisuko, while using nsfw anime edits of male child characters in sexual situations as decor for his selfies.
𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝:
Is it ok to still like Menhera-chan?
𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫:
Sure, the problem is really only Ezaki himself and his increasing problematic remarks fueled by his ego, the manga is a lot older than him being like that.
Fun fact: Ezaki actually hates Menhera-chan because it's the only thing he ever gets approached for by the media, he constantly rants about this on Twitter. If you have noticed, he barely makes new MCH content anymore (unless he gets paid for it) and mainly reposts old artworks and fanart (without permission) instead because it's the only way he can still get attention as his other works, like the misogynist Manapisu, which is just him hating on women as "dumb wh*res" as a manga, flopped badly.
Just try to not fund his bs by buying new goods.

Hey Ive seen Baeddel used in a lot of your posts but like,, other than a definition of the word I cant really find much on what it means like discourse-wise.
I know its something relating to transfems but other than that im lost x.x sorry for the bother
Basically it started out as an old timey slur for trans women. The word "bad" is rooted from it. In the early 2010s a group of trans women adopted the term and had a community for a very short time before it collapsed and not much information is left over.
Some say that had abusive dynamics. Some say they were just talking about transfeminism like they do now. My sibling swears up and down from their personal experiences with the initial group that they were a group of grifters using queer politics to fundraise for tumblers first big scam, The ARK(C?) Project.
A bunch of anti-transfeminists in their efforts to create the magical word that will allow them to terf-jacket trans women without having it called out as such happened upon the term and used the lack of concrete history/the fact that most of the subjective history isn't too charitable to this original group to fabricate a conspiracy theory that these original Beaddels were an evil cabal of bigoted trans women who never really went away and now operate and sow intracommunity discourse from the shadows for the explicit purpose of weakening the holy divinity of TransUnity.
And while some of them moved on to other terms like "TIRF" and "Neo Radfem" a good portion of TransUnity/Transandro anti-transfeminists have latched onto the term and have doubled down on their intent to use it to create a category of trans women that it's ok to exclude. Out of all of the anti-transfeminists that have come out of this new wave, the ones who build their politics around "Anti-Beaddelism" are some of the most mask-off exclusionists of the bunch. Like look at how they talk about Beadels
They will list how these groups have a bunch of ties to nearly every anti-queer group they could think of. And then they warn White™(Because everytime they attack trans women they have to pretend like it's a race thing to distract from the transmisogyny) that they mean to need to maintain a sense of hypervigilance around their transfem sisters and read into every laugh, every joke, and every word for the possibility of finding Beaddel rhetoric. This is a manipulative abusive tactic to keep the transfems within their sphere of influence to reach other to other transfems and rely on TME people to tell them what's right and provide community.
I remember on sailorportia's "Anti-Egg discoursers sound just like my conversation therapist" post I saw one of these people referring to the notes section as "full of beaddel dogwhistles" and inviting people to "take a look and educate themselves". Not specifying what the dogwhistles are or how they are dogwhistles. Just vaguely gesturing at the notes section and inviting you to regard anything a vocal trans woman as a crypto-beaddel and anything they say as "beaddel dogwhistles"
These communities cultivate a sense of paranoia. They encourage constant scrutiny regarding anything a trans woman says. Their leaders sell themselves as protectors of the community whose exclusion is a necessary evil to keep online trans communities safe. They are incentivized to keep the term Beaddel definition murky but representative of all the evils they attribute to trans women.
The term in the modern day is largely prescriptive and moreso defined by the reactionary "Anti-Beadelism" movement than it is defined by its history. Only a few trans women have reclaimed the term. When anti-transfeminists talk about Beaddelism they aren't talking about an organized group or community, they are referring to a bunch of individual trans women they have branded with the beaddel slur.
Currently I don't think reclaiming the word is a good move. Not that I disagree with it or think trans women shouldn't reclaim it. It's just that it will do more harm than good for as long as exclusionists control the narrative on its definition. I've seen mutuals have their posts on general transfeminism get completely discarded out of hand because they had Beaddel in their profile name or bio.
Because like it or not the current definition of Beaddels that gets passed around was written by current ex-terfs/transandro nothorses bro and cites TERF resources in their definition. This is the same dude who's responsible for the foundation or the current TransUnity echo chamber and used the influence from creating that community to try and redefine TERF to include trans women for the purpose of TERF-jacketing.
It's why me and some other trans women have been picking up the words trasfeminism to refer to discussions of transfem issues and anti-transfeminist to refer to these new wave of transfem exclusionist. It denies the exclusionists the ability to define our politics for us to outsiders. Also note: If the term trasfeminism picks up in use your going to see a lot of these people switch from "Beaddel" to "Radical Transfeminist" as their go-to anti-transfeminist TERF-jacketing slur

Once again, I have to emphasize: right now, nobody is doing it like RTVS.
For anyone not filled-in, Radio TV Solutions is a group of friends that stream on Twitch. The group isn't considered to be super big-name, and they raised [over $120k] in a weekend. I don't know what their second largest funds raised is at the moment, but I can guarantee that this one is more than double that.
EDIT: Their last record was $100k, but this is still incredible work.
Imagine if every streamer was running fundraisers for Palestine right now. Streamers you know. Streamers both of us know. Imagine if every Internet celebrity was talking about this. Running fundraiser streams, running telathons, selling merchandise and giving 100% of the profits to Palestine.
Proving their humanity to us in the way they try to through much more superficial means.
Imagine.
And by that, I mean start pestering your favorite Internet stars to talk about Palestine.
Free Palestine. Today, tomorrow, forever. 🇵🇸
#radio tv solutions#rtvs#free palestine#free gaza#palestine#gaza#from the river to the sea palestine will be free#free palestine 🇵🇸#i stand with palestine 🇵🇸#from the river to the sea 🇵🇸#free gaza 🇵🇸#🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

i mean, is it really "capitalizing" on anything if its 1: not actually taking anything from the planes, and 2: fundraising to better research said planes? conservation groups and zoos sell toys n shirts and stuff all the time to raise money for their animals and thats not necessarily exploitative. besides, might curb the number of people who would poach extraplanar stuff in the future should a reliable method of clipping leak- if people want Stuff, theyre gonna find a way 2 get Stuff, ya know?
