This is super useful! I still struggle with crafting my Perfect Layout & probably always will. Having a Guide like this can help out!
How to organize your grimoire [upg]
Putting Together Your Grimoire/Book of Shadows
Tumblr media
Over my time putting together my grimoire, I’ve seen a lot of different people put together their lists of “everything you need in your grimoire”. While I don’t believe that everyone needs to write a world-renowned magical encyclopedia (see the linked post below by @queer-tech-seer), I do want everyone to have a good idea of where to put the information that they do put in their grimoire.
See this post for how I organize my grimoire
Firstly, you need an introduction section. This goes at the beginning of the book and can include things like:
your devotion to the craft
a short daily mantra
a quick list of your most-accessed info
name the kinds of crafts you practice and focus on
your code of conduct/ethics
a protection spell
your zodiac signs, life number, and tarot card
Second, you need info about your craft. This can be anything like:
lunar magick
nature/green magick
hearth magick
urban magick
crystal magick
You may also want to include activities/interests for each type of magick.
If you’re interested in crystal magick, you should check out my Witchy Boxes! @moonstone-magick
Third, you need your recipes.
spell jars
food and drinks
incense + burn sticks
sachets
even crystal grid patterns, anything with steps!
This post has a few of my favorite recipes
Fourth, you need rituals.
blessings
cleansings
prayers
energy work
sigil spells
Fifth, put any information about the kinds of divination you practice, if any.
tarot
omens
numerology
tasseomancy
cartomancy
psychic abilities
I usually write hedge-riding/astral travel also in this section.
Sixth, write your beliefs.
What specific beliefs you subscribe to
What deities you honor/work with (if any)
Your worldviews
Your thoughts about the creation or the afterlife
And that’s basically it!
Farewell and good tides! 💜

Now we all have an idea in our heads when we say "Grimoire" and "Spellbook" right? Be it an old leatherbound tome, tidy and neatly put together or an aged book with crumpled pages, stained with all manner of things.
So I've made a list of ways to make our books look the way we see them in our heads! Several links ahead with lots of fun ideas!

Gale of Waterdeep assorted headcanons: 2
Headcanons 1 here, Tower layout here
He overshares when he's drunk. It's a good look into how his brain works, but he has a 50/50 chance of putting his foot in his mouth
He has a handful of custom spells, one of those being an illusory campsite. Gale's Minor Mirage, he calls it. You're welcome!
The stitch scar on his neck is from being held at knifepoint by a particularly opportunistic thief. Said thief got hit with a lightning bolt
His spellbook is beautifully scripted to the untrained eye, but contains additional notes written in invisible ink. He presents himself as neat and tidy, but his real scribblings are anything but
While inflicted with the Netherese Orb, his blood leaves rashes on other people wherever it touches. Not severe ones, but it doesn't feel pleasant. Like a mild sunburn
Quothe (the raven familiar) is his. It's named that because it loves to listen to Gale read literature (and occasionally recite lines where he leaves off)
He owns a fancy lanceboard set; it was a housewarming gift from his parents when he first got his tower
When he was little, he used to wear a ribbon as a headband to pull his hair back with, and a cape. His hair was fluffy and fell to his chin
His favorite color is blue, but he thinks he looks more refined in purple. His mother thinks he looks most dashing in red
His favorite hobby is helping Tara adapt spells with somatic components for tressym use
His first staff was a Sun Staff, gifted to him by Elminster
His most recent staff was a Staff of Power
Both of these, he had to consume. It was a very, very hard choice to make
Other things he's had to destroy that he cared for dearly:
Emerald Pen (left over from days at the academy; worse that it wasn't worth it, as it didn't give him more than a few hours)
Chromatic Rose (given by a lover upon breakup)
Duplicitous Manuscript (The Art of the Night is one of these)
Needle of Mending (kept it on his person after the thief incident)
Wand of Enemy Detection (carried it with him on excursions with Tara)
Wayfarer's Boots (his favorite travel pair)
Arcane Grimoire (one of his first found artifacts, copied a few spells from it into his own book)
Candle of Invocation (a gift from Mystra)
Crystal Ball of Telepathy (Tara used it more than he did; her little paws can't cast Sending)
Songbird Sage's Signet (wore it everywhere, only used in a pinch; he misses the weight of it and rubs his finger occasionally)
Crown of Whirling Comets (wore it to the Blackstaff annual balls, partly to show off)
The 6th level spell Program Illusion is what appears during his Death Protocol. As it needs to be tied to an area within 30 feet of where it's assigned, it's what his briefs are enchanted with. His reasoning is that he'd always have them, and no one would take them off him while dead
When he's panicked, he burns through the magical item he fed the Orb with faster. That's why he puts such a weight on keeping calm
The reason you have 2 days to resurrect him before exploding, and why he can still live for a bit if you don't give him an item immediately, is because without careful management, it consumes HIM. He has 2 days worth of magic to his person
He doesn't like to turn people down outright. To him, the gentlemanly thing to do is to go on a first date to indulge whomever asked. He's had a lot of first dates
He's been accused of using Enchantment as to why he's so dashing once or twice. It absolutely stoked his ego around his looks
Quipper fish and hundur sauce is the dish he's most proud of, but his favorite is a good slow roast
He'll make illusory ceilings for dates with starry skies and auroras. Maybe floating candles if he's feeling fancy. Yes that extends to the bedroom
If left to his own devices, he will relax in a bath for HOURS. Tara thinks he falls asleep in there (she can't prove anything)
Before the orb, he and his mother had a pseudo-competitive exchange of cookware. They'd take turns making the most ELABORATE dishes in the same fancy glass pan, and send it back and forth trying to outdo each other. Whenever one showed up with the pan, it would always be with a healthy seasoning of smug satisfaction and sweet compliments about the last meal
He likes picnics on the beach. If you show him shells and things he'll happily tell you where they came from
He always dresses just a smidge too warmly for the weather
He can sleep just about anywhere, and frequently does in his tower. It's not good for his back. When Tara finds him, she always tugs a blanket over him
His family symbol is a crescent moon setting in the water
Bonus Tara headcanon: her opal collar is her spellcasting focus

The Online Generator
David Schirduan of Technical Grimoire is almost finished with his Gardens of Ynn online generator. Just porting it over to the SoulMuppet site and running a few test runs. This generator will be available to anyone and makes running this depth-crawl adventure even easier. For a preview of what this is going to look like, head over to the Stygian Library online generator for his previous work.

Altars
Tumblr media
A witch's alar is a divine place. it's unique and sacred. There will never be 2 of the same. Each altar is personal, one of a kind. Most altars, however, will have similar or the same items, such as a cauldron, candles, an athame (a small blade), and a symbol to represent the craft of the individual (pentagram, flower of life, etc.). There is no set of items to make an altar an altar.
You do not need to go out of you way to get expensive for specific items for your space. You may only need a regular bowl as the cauldron and some herbs with a grimoire. Another's space may have incense or a smelly candle. Some alters are decorated for the season, special festivals, items for specific deities or even spell jars. Should you want to decorate your dedicated space traditionally, it would have a specific layout, particularly during spell work.
How to Set Up an Altar
Typically, a cloth will be placed on the table (but it isn't a necessity). A pentacle/pentagram will be placed on the table and there will be 4 corners to represent the elements.
North = Earth = crystals, bowl of salt, a plant
East = Air = incense or/and burner
South = Fire = candles or something that holds a flame
West = Water = a body of water (bowl or cup).
Other witches may have many more objects on their alter, or they may keep it minimal. If an individual works with deities, they may included a candle or item to hold a space on the altar for that particular spirit/deity. Items also differ based on their belief system.
Most commonly, witches use:
Pictures or statues of the deity to honour them, or/and a symbolic item to represent their certain God, should they work with or worship one.
A chalice may be used to represent the feminine aspect in the Great Rite (Wicca), which is usually filled with wine, juice or spring water.
A bell can be used to mark the start and end of a ritual or used to sound cleanse a space.
The Athame is a blade to represent the male or masculine of the Great Rite, to direct energies and cut doorways in the circle. Also can be used in rituals to 'cut ties' energetically and spiritually with another person.
A wand to direct energies and create the temple of the protective circle (usually cast before doing spell work)
Crystals to promote, banish or maintain specific energies.
Tumblr media
Altars do not need to be in one spot or a specific way. Altars can be spread out over shelves, tables or even over several rooms. Alternatively, they can even be pocket sized for your own convenience! It's your space - make it how you like it and what works for you and your situation. An Altar is designed and tailored to fit the witch using it.
Some witches don't even have altars, but most do. Altars are not a necessity in your craft and neither is what you put on it, so there should be no pressure as to make one.

could you walk us through what notebooks & journals & pens /etc you use - they look so good!
Tumblr media
I would be SO happy to, you have no idea!!
Tumblr media
Alright, let's fucking GOOOO~
Tumblr media
Starting off with my current "workhorse" pens - I have like *checks notes* 36 fountain pens and a bit too many inked up atm, but these are just the ones I'm currently reaching for or have inked up more often than not:
TWSBI Go (F): Kinda ugly! But also kinda cute! It's cheap and works great (I friggin love TWSBI pens tbh) and it has a little hole on the cap where you can attach a lanyard or charms, like I did! Makes it cuter imo and it's kind of my emotional support pen these days.
Opus88 Pocket (EF): This 2022 edition has a little Moon tarot design on the cap so it's pretty much the pen I use exclusively for my witchy/tarot practice journals! A lil bummed the cap doesn't post, especially since its a shorter pocket-sized pen, but not a deal breaker and I still love it.
Pilot Custom 823 (F): My grail pen that I've literally coveted for years and just recently acquired at the DC Pen Show this weekend! It's only been a day but I think it could potentially become my favorite pen. Ever.
Pilot Prera (CM): This is my third Prera lol. I just think they're great and really underrated pens! Also a recent acquisition from the DC Pen Show and this cursive M nib is suuuuper fun to write with.
Pilot Vanishing Point (EF): My favorite pen for planning! Super fine-tipped for writing task lists and schedules and love that it's so convenient/quick-draw with the click mechanism.
(I'm totally a Pilot pen ho, can you tell? asdjflaglsg)
Journals/Planners/Notebooks under cut–
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sterling Ink B6 Common Planner: For a good chunk of this year, I was in this planner because I honestly love the size and all the layouts. Super practical and flexible as a system. 10/10 would go back. I've used it to plan, as a reading journal, as a tarot log...
But I get the itch to move around so it's been sitting a little unused since like June, oop.
Tumblr media
Leuchtturm A6: I started craving something tiny and minimal so I've been bullet journaling in this pocket notebook for the last month or two and I'm really enjoying it!
Tumblr media
Standard-sized Tomoe River Paper notebook: This is pretty consistent in that I don't change up the system itself, but I'm in and out of it for memory keeping/scrapbook journaling! It's almost always a Tomoe River paper notebook of SOME kind that I usually buy in A5 size to go to FedEx and get it cut down to standard. Though I'm thinking of getting a blank Midori MD A5 to have cut down next time - I've been liking the freedom of blank pages for journaling instead of anything lined or gridded.
I really need to catch up with it tbh, but I love sitting in an explosion of printed photos, stickers, and washi and going ham with the pages.
(I do have a flip through of my January-March 2022 pages on YouTube)
Tumblr media
Midori MD Cotton B6 Slim: I also have this sketchbook that sorta turned into a visual sketch diary of sorts. I fell off a while ago but want to get back into it because it's super fun to work in and to look back on!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wide-sized Cosmo Air Light notebook & A5 Filofax Malden: These are my tarot/witchy journals. Grimoires I guess? One is for journaling and all my messier notes while the other is more for reference and ease of organization.
Tumblr media
A5 Leuchtturm: I didn't know if I should include this guy, but I've been writing it in a lot recently so I guess I will lol. This is like truuuly a miscellaneous™ notebook.
I got this A5 notebook back in 2017 to use as my very first bullet journal, then found out that this size is personally waaaay too big for me to use as a bullet journal so I hopped off of it pretty quick. It now sits on my desk because since it's mostly blank I'll just pick it up to use it to write literally A N Y T H I N G.
Most recently, I wrote like 5 pages in one night on notes for a fanfiction piece I was working on (I'm not a writer, this fic is never gonna see the light of day by anyone but me lololol. Hyperfixation is so wild; I've put 80k+ words within just 10 days into it so far and it's been hella therapeutic.)
Tumblr media
That's all, I think!?
It's funny because I actually have a NEW notebook arriving tomorrow that I'm going to try out as a bujo/commonplace/omni journal of sorts?? I might write an update post after I've set that up and see how I like it <3

Medias I've used the most with my shifting journey (in a /pos way):
Tiktok: Accounts that have script templates is a MASSIVE timesaver if you don't know what reality you want to shift to (plus you can just delete stuff you dont wanna use) or too lazy to make your own. I've seen a variety between popular scripts to lesser known ones and even completely blank ones with just themes! I've also discovered GoodNotes through shifttok (which does have a paid subscription if you want to do more than 3 scripts, but if you like to have a digital bullet journal/scrapbook feel, it wouldn't hurt to try out/pos) along with how other people script which was interesting to me! The biggest puller for me personally is the art people make for/of their DRs as someone that does it themselves (and it gives me an excuse to gush over the person's art as a whole!)
Tumblr: Before I got back into shifting, I used to thread through the various tags for pngs/icons, banners and headers for my grimoire and my digital planner for college (and admire art and aesthetic stuff, along with info for said grimoire but that's unrelated). I even had to start a sideblog so I dont lose track of stuff I wanna use eventually. Tumblr also allows me to stay connected to my DRs by indulging in fics, fanart, headcanons, and other things that could trigger inspiration for a scenario (or an unintended memory/blip)
Amino: Yeahh I know it's not a lotta people's cup of tea. It takes some digging around to find some potentially useful stuff and if the community has a masterlist for it, there's divination shops/teams and free pick-a-pile readings! Some even submit script templates that you can copy+paste. I kinda just lurk around, do the daily check-in and keep track of angel numbers I've seen the day before for my spiritual journey but thats just me being me lmao
Pinterest: My other visual savior for scripting! I almost have a board for every reality I have a script for visualizing and refs for when I want to connect through making art. I know I can just download the images and add them to my actual script, but finding the stuff as is is enough work for me and I don't wanna spend more time scripting than I actually need to (and it makes sense for my adhd brain)
Notion: What I originally used for academics now houses a digital grimoire and a script hub. I don't remember what pulled me in to using it since I first started in 2019. I just became more obsessed the more I found out about how people set theirs up and make the layout as minimalist or maximalist as they wanted. I will say there are some limitations between using Notion on a phone vs. a computer or tablet along with the occasional hiccup, but overall it works effectively for me that makes it organized and pleasing to the eye
Etsy: Yep.. a place to shop. I used to splurge a ton on readings on there early in my journey (I still do every now and then now that I found some personal favorite shops) but you can also connect to your DRs without it being specifically shifting-related, like candles or wax melts— even a pin or keychain that reminds you of it somehow.

Seeing you said about having headcanons and ideas about the witches road, I was wondering if you could show us a few of what's in your mind?
For sure! So, in the TV show, the Road is presented as a series of magical trials that witches have to overcome to receive power and other rewards. That's a tried and true fantasy trope, but it's not really how the Road is presented in comics. In Scarlet Witch, it appears to be more of spirit world, with branching paths representing different folklore and mythology. It's also home to the Witchcraft goddess, an abstract entity personifying witchcraft itself and the natural laws that govern it. The Road also leads to other worlds and planets beyond Earth, and contains a special afterlife realm where witches go when they die, and which seems to frequently enable their return.
We've never really seen witches visit the Road under "normal" circumstances, so it's hard to say how often they visit, but I think the logical assumption is that it's a special place where witches go to commune with gods, spirits and ancestors, and something they can use as a means of inter-world/inter-planar travel, sort of like the Bifrost. I would really like to see it incorporated into more stories any time witches need to gather, communicate, or visit other worlds. These days, most of the spellcasters in Marvel comics can just astral project or make portals when they need to get around, but I think magic is more interesting when you add these details and devices.
Just for fun, I designed some imaginary grimoire pages explaining the rules and layout of the Road. To be clear, this is basically fanfiction-- I have a strictly-canon breakdown here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for story ideas, I have a few--
I wrote this outline for Hecate's return as a recurring villain.
Billy's mentioned receiving magical lessons and mentorship from Wanda, but we've never seen this on-page. Obviously, teleporting between Throneworld and Earth isn't hard for them, but the Road would be a convenient place for them to meet up without having to physically travel. Staging conversations there could be an organic way to bring up stuff like the Scarlet Witch lineage, how Billy fits into it.
On a related note, I've always wondered if it would be possible for some of the other Maximoffs to walk the Road-- we've talked about the possibility of including Tommy and Pietro in the magical world, and I've also said that having Luna explore her magical potential would be a great way to stage meaningful conversations about heritage.
Outside of the Maximoffs, there are a lot of characters in this particular corner of the Marvel world who would benefit from unpacking some of their ancestral baggage. Zoe Laveau, Alice Gulliver, and Nico Minoru are all top of mind. I would love if the next step in Nico's journey was to reach closure with her mom's history, and forge her own staff so she can reclaim that power on her own terms.
If we ever revisit Agatha's history with the coven at Mount Wundagore, including the Witches' Road would be a natural choice. I'm imagining Agatha convincing Nico, Zoe, and some of the other coven descendants to walk the Road in order to revive an old magical pact between the families. Agatha would obviously make a power grab, but the descendants-- maybe with help from Wanda-- would thwart her by altering the pact to be more equitable. (yes, this is my idea of a more in-character version of the TV plot.)
Chthon is free again. We know that there is a history of witches and the Witchcraft goddess binding chaos magic, and I think that Wanda is coming around to the idea that she can't, or shouldn't, shoulder that burden alone. Reviving the old coven, or maybe forming a new one, could the first step in binding Chthon more sustainably, and maybe the witches will need to walk the Road in order to get help from the goddess.
Hexfinder also has history with the Witchcraft goddess. If she's going to be a recurring villain, I'd like to revisit that. I imagine that Wanda would want to find a way to settle the debt between Witchcraft and the alchemists, not just to get Nicola off her back, but to provide genuine, transformative justice. That's the core principle of how Wanda operates as a solo hero.

Zine Publication Workshop
I loved this workshop so much!! I wanted to create a mini grimoire this week to expand my study of witchcraft and wicca. I gathered a range of images from magazines, brochures and prints because I wanted my zine to have a graphic look to it in the finish. It took a really long time to decide on a suitable layout for the pages. I used a variety of different font styles throughout the zine to keep each page fresh and unique. I ended up doing two layers, blue and pink - my first layer (blue) took ages to make between the collages, research and text. I didn’t completely finish everything I wanted to with my first layer although I still like how it looks. The second layer just highlights certain important parts of the first and adds some interesting lines to the pages. I printed my zine a few times on different colour papers to see how the visuals would change depending on their backgrounds. I think I like the moss green background the best as it brings out the images best. I’m actually so happy with the final design even though I wish I had a bit more time to add a few extra details. I would have liked to do a bit more to the back page because it looks plain in comparison to the rest of the pages.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also did bookbinding in this weeks workshop which I found super interesting and fun to make. I made a 24 page sketchbook with a purple cover. I used waxed thread to sew the pages together and a laser guillotine to cut the edges of the pages so that they were aligned.

January Week 1
Welcome welcome to the 2024 Grimoire Challenge! Time to really get started everyone! This week will have a lot of stuff all jammed in. So buckle up, grab your grimoire and your supplies, and let’s get to work!
Monday
Name your book - this may seem silly and you definitely don’t need to name your book. Not properly at least. Other than “my grimoire” or “book of shadows” or what have you, which is totally fine. But some of us might feel the need to give it a proper title. “The Basil Grimoire” or “Hazel’s Handwritten Workings” something, anything, that ties the book to you and your craft. Make a title page! If you feel so inclined. If not, that’s fine too.
Definitions (New Page) - ritual and spell. Let’s define a few things. Make a page specifically for definitions, that we’ll add to through the challenge. Let’s start with a couple simple definitions. Define spell. And define ritual. Within the confines of magic, witchcraft and your practice. What is a spell? What is a ritual? What are the differences?
Study (herb) - Pick another herb from that list we made, and dig into the details. Make a page for it on its own, or add its info to another page! Whatever works for your craft. The questions to ask for these study prompts are going to continue to remain the same. Where did it come from, where does it grow, how does it grow, what are its mundane and practical uses. What are the myths and legends and stories surrounding the herb? What are its magical properties and why/ how do you think the other information you've learned about it have influenced its magical associations?
Tuesday
Outline/ index (New Page!) - it helped me a great deal to have an index or outline to my grimoire. I started this as a file on my computer as my grimoire grew and changed I could more easily manage it and rearrange it as I saw fit. Then eventually I could make it into a handwritten copy.
Study (gem) - Like our herb prompt, the gem prompts are going to always use the same outline and questions. Where does the gem come from? What is it used for in a practical and mundane sense? What are its physical properties? What are any myths, legends or stories? Where and how does it form? How does all of that relate to its magical correspondences and what does the herb mean to and for you in your craft?
Spellwriting 101 (New Page!) - make a new page dedicated to spellwriting. This is going to be one of those prompts that is focused on you and your craft. How do you write spells? How do you set them up? What components do you use? What is the format? How is it done? What does it require? From materials to timing and circumstances? Write it all out in your lab notebook. Make it a work in progress. Not all spells are going to work out the same or function the same as you perform them, but having a general layout and method helps to focus your practice.
Wednesday
Common tools - What are the common tools in your craft? That is, you don't need to have a list of every single tool ever used in witchcraft, just the tools that you use in yours. Both regularly and less regularly. What are they used for specifically? What purposes do they serve in the magical and practical sense? Are they ceremonial and symbolic or do they serve an actual physical purpose? (i.e. a wand used to direct energy serves many purposes, while an incense burner could literally just be that, an incense burner)
Year outline/ calendar - not everyone celebrates the same days, holidays or even the same holidays the same way. What are the special occasions and days in your calendar? Mark them and when the proper season/ holiday comes around, we can make pages dedicated to those days. This week this will simply be a list of these days, while later we will actually make pages for them individually. Think of it like the Wheel of the Year, Yule to Midsummer and so on. What days are important to you and your practice? Are they actual holidays? Or simply days of power like the full moon? Or is it simply days that are significant for other reasons, like the anniversary of the day you began practicing witchcraft?
Practical - tool usage - practice using your tools. For example if you use a wand. Practice using it to direct energies or whatever it is you utilize it for.
Thursday
Altar design/ work space (New Page!) - make a page dedicated to your altar and its setup. Why are things where they are? The reasoning can be simple as “that’s where it fits” or you can give it a more meaningful reason. Candles in front of or behind something to represent some purpose. Do you have items that represent the elements? Deities? Different sources of power or directionality? Different colors for different meanings? Why is your altar the way it is?
Practical - cleansing space - practice cleansing your space and tools. This is of course a physical and 'energetic' cleansing. Tidy it up, redecorate your space, clean the tools if they have dust or ash or anything on them. Sometimes it is good to have a clean start.
Friday
Personal practices - this is just a thought provoking prompt tied in with the Journal prompt below. What are some of your personal practices that you've brought into your witchcraft? Anything from little habits from your every day life to things brought from religion or family traditions. No matter how hard we try, we carry within us echoes of things not related to our practices into it. And that is totally okay. Recognizing them, acknowledging them, and truly incorporating them can be a huge step toward understanding ourselves, our beliefs and our practices all around.
Journal/ introspective/ meditations - Think about the above and write any of it down that you come to terms with. Self understanding is important in and outside of witchcraft.
Thank you all and I hope this week's prompts aren't too overwhelming! Stay tuned next week for the next set of prompts!

grimoire organization 2022
Greetings, everyone! This is how I've organized my grimoire for 2022. I use Obsidian to write it digitally.
This is just my personal preference for organization, so no worries if yours looks different! There are as many ways to organize a grimoire as there are witches and wizards in the world.
Tell me what you think! What parts do you like? What do you think I should add? Anything I'm missing or suggestions to make it better? Feel free to comment how you organize your grimoire below!
Farewell, and good tidings!

[JP] 11th NRC Unified Exams
December 1st, 16:00 to December 11th, 14:59 (JST)
Tumblr media
Requirement to participate: Finish Story Chapter 1 (Heartslabyul)
Unified Exams work similarly to Tests, but you can bring a friend’s support card. There are 5 different battles (1 for each element, and some combination of Attack, Basic and Defense) and the total score from all 5 battles gives you a rank from F to S5.
You can battle 10 times a day and each win rewards you with 4 medals. You can also get medals when friends use your support character (so we recommend having your best card for support). It’s 1 medal per support used and the max you can get is 10. So it’s possible to get up to 50 medals a day.
The table below shows the final rewards your total score will net you at the end of the exam period (**NEW!** The score requirements have been updated as of this exam):
Tumblr media
Crowley Medals can be used in the Event Shop to buy multiple items and the best part is that you don’t have to use up all your medals right away, you can save them for the next exam.
Tumblr media
Magical Key Set includes: 2 keys and 3 AP refill S
Card Set includes: 10 AP refill L and 30k madol
Book Sets include: 8 notepads, 4 textbooks and 2 grimoires
History Lesson Set includes: 1 AP refill L and 3 macarons/waffles/cupcakes
Flying Lesson Set includes: 1 AP refill L and 3 sugar cubes/waffles/cupcakes
Alchemy Lesson Set includes: 1 AP refill L and 3 popcorn/cupcakes/card cookies
If you need help with Team Composition, feel free to send us an ask or submission (check our preferred layout) and good luck!
We will drop a post for the battles like we do for tests, with effects for Hard and Extra battles. We will also collect the HP and heal values of the foes during Easy and Normal battles. Good luck!

Note
Two things: I had an idea for a blog that posted (or posted submissions) of "a grimoire idea a day" - once (or more) a day it would post an idea of something you could put in your personal grimoire. I think it'd be a neat idea for anybody who sees this!
two: speaking of grimoires, im having a hell of a time trying to figure out what to put in or even do with mine. are there any ideas for detailed layouts anywhere? i wanna put a *lot* in mine; i know a grimoire is supposed to be a whole "customize it yourself" deal, but i'm someone who struggles doing things without guidance or pre-made layouts or lists.
That is a neat idea!
2. I feel you, I need lists and layout inspiration all the time. I know my friend @thevirginwitch has a notion template that you can buy if you'd like an easy pre-made layout.
For me, I also use notion because it's so much easier to arrange and rearrange as needed. You could use a 3-ring binder and loose-leaf paper for a similar effect if you want a physical version.
As far as lists and layout, I created a "table of contents" of overarching topics that I planned to learn about and then placed my research or writing in their respective "chapter". These topics include in alphabetical order:
Alchemy
Astrology
Basics
Botanicals
Correspondences
Crystals
Daily Witchcraft
Deity Work
Divination
Energy Work
Folk magic
Holidays
Kitchen Witchery
Misc
Numerology
Occult History
Personal Paradigms
Planetary Magic
Reading List
Shadow Work
Sigils
Spell Book
Spell Craft
Spirit Work
Suburban Witchcraft
And then it gets more niche, so like in spirit work I have a page for familiars, for genius loci, for house spirits, etc. I also rename things occasionally.
For more ideas, you could check out my New Witch Research List here on tumblr or if you're a supporter on my ko-fi you can gain access to my Not-New Witch Research List. <:

Gardens of Ynn KS Update!
An Online Generator, Gorgeous New Art and FAQs about Stygian...
Some of you may remember David Schirduan of Technical Grimoire’s Stygian Library generator that we did during the last project. Here’s a link.
David has kindly offered to make another generator for Ynn. We’re paying him to do this, and then port both of them over to the SoulMuppet website. This will be available for free online for everyone to use (although it will make more sense if you own the book).
Tumblr media
We have also completed the first draft of layout and you can see a bunch more new art in situ. This is great work from Mina and Bones and I’m loving how this is coming together.
Stygian Library Reprint
We’ve had some questions from backers about the reprint of Stygian Library. A few clarifications:
First, we won’t be updating the layout at all. We’re very happy with it.
Second, we will fix typos in the book before we go to print. If you are aware of any typos in the book please email them to [email protected] and I’ll get them fixed before we go to print.
Thirdly, we’ve only got about 300 of the old black and silver covers left, and we’ll keep selling them as legacy stock on the store. If you would prefer one, we’ll include them as an add-on on BackerKit.
Play By Poll by Mol
Mol is doing a Play by Post of the Gardens of Ynn on SoulMuppet Tumblr and Twitter.
Read along to see what happened so far, then join in by voting upon the threads, and we'll see how this all together doomed expedition fails.
Thanks again for your support and please keep sharing!
