starlight revue going out of service is sad but also like thank god i can get out of that powercreep hell in pvp but its still also the one i played the most out of .... the two mobile games i play now (nuc and starira)

could get into a new one but none of thecurrent ones out there appeal to me in designs - wouldn't call them bad but dont find them interesting either and like idk getting invested in story is a struggle to say beforehand

but also wanting a time sink... neither of the bl ones appeal to me either (velvet react&noctilucent) art boring designs boring too

also. amber gris as a character is really important to me as an appalachian.

not just her accent or the specific type of person justin based her off of but like

the feeling of losing someone to addiction/overdose while the government does nothing to help, just criminalizes and stigmatizes and makes things worse. which obviously happens in more places than just around here, but we have one of the highest rates of overdose death in the whole country and that whole set of scenes felt like they were really informed by growing up around that

yknow every once in a while I go wow I really am insane… third life was nothing like that to the average person what a strange hill to die on… And then I remember the whittle him down to nothing clip and I go ah never mind I’m right forever and something is seriously wrong with him

But jimmy tries and gets sent away with a vague crossbow threat so #jimmy just waits outside the desert border alone until scott shows up. like he literally just sits there doing nothing.#sorry its not that serious. its not. isn't it wild how you can play through an entire indie game in a single day and be left with a deeper, more profound experience, story, moral or question all wrapped in a more unique and impactful art style than many triple a games nowadays. for like 8 bucks.

#indie games i love you forever #this isn't about anything in particular but #i think about gris every time the conversation centers big expensive time consuming games #i think this year was pretty solid tho! apart from stinkers like diablo 4 or starfield. but maybe the industry isn't lost #looking at bg3 or alan wake 2 getting a lot of recognition. both are still somewhat underdogs compared to the standard #but they're nominated for goty! and bg3 will probably take it. meanwhile the two opposites faded into the sidelines instantly #i need to play viewfinder cocoon and hi fi rush too (which is nominated for goty as well iirc you love to see it)#but i just love that indie approach and comparably still smaller studios are getting out there #and the indie category itself is holding its own between these and the big studio snoozefests and nintendo's circlejerk #there's still a lot to improve about game awards - a horror game category would be neat for example and generally more diversity in titles #what is forspoken why isn't anyone talking about it apart from like 5 tumblr users. also pentiment where???#but idk. maybe it's just this one year but it looks hopeful for the future. who knows #shut up elis #the game awards 2023 #(i guess)

I never said I wasn't a hypocrite, like I was in tears about your lie in april + I want to eat your pancreas and I'm always in tears about Kojika and Ronin's Right person, not enough time dynamic- I think that's just a trope that's always gonna make me cry ngl-

I genuinely don't like sad things most of the time but angst I can handle when I know there's comfort at the end. When I know the characters are gonna get a happy ending or I know where the story is gonna go or if I'm forewarned ahead of time.

And the Angst thing is because I have Ru as my role model in the angst department so Gotta keep up with their silly antics /j
