Τι και αν το παρελθον σε αντιμετωπιζει ασυνειδητα σε εναν κόσμο που η καθημερινότητα δεν σου είναι πλήρης;
Μα, αδιαφορούσες;
Γιατί τώρα;

Over land, Troy and Ithaca were only 1000 kilometers apart. Trained soldiers would have no problem marching 40 kilometers per day. even at a more sedate 30 kilometers per day, it would only take 34 days, and one short boat trip where land is always visible for Odysseus and his men to walk home. This is the much better option when one is cursed by the god of the seas.
I have to assume that Odysseus was merely stubborn.

hey so i Fully Believe that telemachus was not afraid of odysseus in Hold Them Down
people may have told him stories of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, Athena's chosen Champion, Hero of Troy
but mama's boy telemachus sat by her feet as she wove tapestry after tapestry; and penelope told her little wolf stories of his father
how they met, how he tripped over himself to woo her, how he cried his eyes out when penelope became pregnant, how telemachus wouldn't sleep in his cot as a baby because he was so used to being in his father's arms because odysseus would not put him down; and yes, how viciously he defended their family when the atrides came to retrieve him for the war
telemachus? the child of the Unhinged Power Couple? who knew very well how horrible those suitors were, how they treated him and spoke of his mother?
took one look at his dad viciously protecting their home, their family, and thought he was the coolest, strongest person ever (after mom ofc)

So far, I think we Epic fans have mutually agreed on 3 things:
1) Penelope is taller than Odysseus
2) Polites was holding the infant when he appeared in the Underworld saga
3) Odysseus tucked his hair behind his ear when he sang “Penelope why, you know I’m too shy”
#edited it cause I remember one more#random thoughts#epic the musical#the odyssey#polites#odysseus#penelope#greek mythology

My idea on Awakened Hollyberry as some sort of harvest goddess, cause a lot of mad brain rotting but where ever she walks she grows plants and the like I made her look like a pie, cause she is a cutie pie
#cookie run#hollyberry cookie#I had thought Holly's would be dragon related but why would they have two if Cacao was already one?#Cause Eternal sugar is so definitely greek based I started thinking about what could with her and I was like#Demeter!#Hollyberry is a mother and her home is an agriculture paradise with all the juice and fruit#Tending the fields and ensuring new growth is such hard work and would be the antithesis to Sugar's sloth#Eternal Sugars false paradise compared to Hollyberrys hardwork and effort

before odysseus left for troy, the man was scarcely seen without his infant son in his arms. telemachus fit perfectly against his chest, nestled close to the king's heart. the gleam in odysseus' eyes couldn't be mistaken for anything but pure adoration, and he wore his love for all the world to see.
twenty years later, when the king finally returns to his island, his son is no longer an infant. the suitor's blood smears every surface of their home, and pallas athena's presence lurks just beyond, but the world fades away entirely as they take each other in.
one thing is clear as day: the prince is too big for odysseus' arms to hold comfortably– too tall to rest neatly against him.
when telemachus' knees give out from beneath him, strength leaving with a strangled cry, odysseus stumbles forward and tucks him into his chest anyway.
the prince rests his cheek near his father's heart in a gesture impossible for the boy to remember but one the king recalls with perfect clarity. many nights, he lost himself to tears, pressing his hands to the same place. twenty years of pain, of longing to feel the warmth of his only child.
odysseus threads his fingers into his son's curls, strands as soft as a bird's downy feathers. "my boy," he whispers reverently. "my dearest telemachus."
the sob his son chokes out sends a wave of agony through him, more painful than any wound. every shake of the boy's shoulders stabs directly into his heart and every stifled wail twists the knife. the king can only hold him tighter as they cry, twenty years of grief falling through their bodies and shattering all at once.
