The young Jesus was DIFFERENT—He behaved differently because He had a different standard from the rest of His brothers and all the people surrounding Him. 👇 This DIFFERENCE became the very point of conflict. He was also actively making a DIFFERENCE in people’s lives by uplifting downtrodden souls around Him, listening in sympathy with them, and speaking to them words of hope and encouragement. While the ways of the world were based on selfish manmade rules, the way of God was revealed in His Word, and that was what Jesus clung to. A while ago, we asked ourselves why. Why does a supposedly powerful and loving God allow bad things to happen to the innocent? Why do the innocent suffer? And, why does God seem to be selectively helpful? Well, some people say there's actually a villain. That there's Satan. That there's a great controversy. And that we're victims of this great supernatural battle. That ultimately good will win. That at the end of the day, we will all understand. And that's such a high and hopeful note. But if that is the #truth, then why won't #God simply show up NOW, destroy all evil, and lead us all to an eternal bliss? Wouldn't that be the quickest and most energy-saving solution--almost making the battle casualty-free? Promising, I know. But will that "quick" solution be the ultimate solution for ALL? How about the villain? Why did he rise in rebellion in the first place? Could it be that there's some truth to his accusations? Could it be that God is just selfish? Could it be that we can become more progressive if we simply followed the dictates of our own hearts without any regard for the welfare of our fellows? Could it be that the universe would do better if all creatures were to act and live for themselves, without thinking about how their actions could destroy others? Now how will God handle our confusion? How will He show who He truly is? By silence? If God is #love, how will we know? Would He just show up and announce it without proof? Will He, by a simple verbal announcement and a consequent judgment and universal rehauling actually CONVINCE you? If God is love, how can you be convinced? If God loves you, how will you know? If God woos you to Himself, what will actually attract you to Him? Without fear. Without expectations. How will God awaken love in you? What will make you truly #believe? Go ponder.
